The Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort is a charming, rustic property with a unique bike theme, offering a comfortable stay in a great location. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, live entertainment, and proximity to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs. However, some guests have expressed concerns about cleanliness, outdated facilities, and thin walls.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Great location close to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs
- Cleanliness issues in some rooms and bathrooms
- Outdated facilities and thin walls

Something was leaking through the floor in bathroom possibly leaking bathtub or toilet but it stunk and was damp Just was nasty. I hope it gets fixed
- 5/5
It may look a little rough on the outside, but the rooms are clean and it’s a fun place to stay
- 5/5
This was the perfect little find. Needed a room on short notice and got a great rate. The staff was so friendly, like you had met them before. The room was so cute and quaint. Clean, updated but didn’t take away from the little town feeling. I will definitely be looking into availability next time I plan a trip back.

Comfy beds, friendly staff
- 5/5
My only complaint would be the curtains. Really wish they covered the window and darkened the room.
- 4/5
Enjoyed staying here. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had the best time at open mic night at their lodge. Location was great. Room was cute. Did have little issue with the air in room, but staff quickly fixed it. My kids had fun in the pool and riding the bikes, they have for free to borrow. My only complaint is that nobody cleaned our room in 4 days we were there. But would totally recommend staying here, especially for the rates, location and friendly staff

Was an excellent place to stay and we can not wait to go again !!

The property is older, but we'll maintained. Thaley have a decent breakfast, have live music in the evenings, and seem to have different activities going on during the weekends like food trucks.
- 5/5
Catering to bicyclists was really nice. We did a loop 30 ride from the lodge. Concerts on premises were a plus, happy hour bar fun too. Loved the retro atmosphere, for those longing for the good vibes and a simpler way of travel.
- 5/5
The property is excellent if you’re looking for a hotel that accommodate Bikes or dogs. The rooms were extremely roomy and practical. The sheets felt great and the AC was strong! I was very impressed with the down-to-earth, friendly staff! The coffee.
- 5/5
The layout of the place was great. There is a spot for a car right outside the rooms. At the main office they have an outdoor area with a bar and live music spot. We went to watch the band who was playing and my 13 year old LOVED it. She didn’t want to leave till the last encore song. There are bikes available for use, a swimming pool, and a volleyball net. Everyone there was having a great time. Overall this place could be described as “good vibes”. If we are back in the area we are staying here, no question.

The cutest set up and the kindest staff. I couldn’t have asked for a better location either. You’re minutes from the Garden of Gods, Manitou downtown area (super cute) and the Manitou climb, not to mention the Cog railway to Pikes Peak!! They have a heated pool, laundry, a cool little coffee shop/ bar and they have live music and food trucks on the weekend. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
The shower was kind of hard to turn on and adjust. But that might have just been in our room. I thought the bed was a little too soft, and the pillows too hard, but that is a personal comfort level.
- 5/5
Great location, great pool, amazingly wonderful vibe! The room was spacious and had enough outlets (which has been a big problem in other places). Loved it - will be back! Very nice breakfast! The shower was kind of hard to turn on and adjust. But that might have just been in our room. I thought the bed was a little too soft, and the pillows too hard, but that is a personal comfort level.

KOA Meets Rte 66 Motel—But Way Better!! Searching for a last-minute overnight in the COS area, I landed on this listing (among others.) My friend kept directing me elsewhere, saying it’s “funky.” Which, to me, means “most go investigate!” And I couldn’t have been more pleased with my stay! Great staff, property, amenities, entertainment, people, location, ambiance!! All the stuff I look for—and none of the corporate sterility of the downtown spots! I’m telling all my friends and fam. I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful experience. We will be back.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at The Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort. The location was great. The room was immaculate and the decor was so cool. It was too chilly take advantage of the free bike rental, but we are looking forward to another stay when they have live music. The breakfast was delicious and included waffles as well as some healthy options including fresh fruit and granola. The staff was super friendly and the bike themed lodge had an awesome vibe. We look forward to coming back!
- 5/5
Great, simple accommodations with a community vibe. The room was simple and clean, just what we needed for an overnight stay after exploring the Colorado Springs/Manitou area. Although our schedules didn't align, we loved seeing the list of organized activities offered at the lodge, such as group bike rides, yoga classes, and live music! Would come back here the next time we're in the area!
- 4/5
Has a great old time vibe. The staff was amazing and certainly added to the positive energy of the lodge. They also support Wounded Warriors and I was blessed to be able to thank many for their service as there was an event during my stay.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay here. The bike decorations were great, the staff were helpful, and the breakfast was good. I would definitely come stay again.
- 5/5
Clean room with no carpet
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and friendly. Easy access to your room and the property.
- 5/5
Cute little gem, nice property dog friendly, staff was great and very helpful for our short stay.
- 5/5
Cutest little bike lodge! So much character and charm. There was yoga going on in the bar when I arrived for check in. Guests out on their bikes and walking the property (which is strung with lights and feels like stepping back into a better time). It was a quick stay for me, sadly - so I didn’t get to experience the live music or other events on property. Recently remodeled room - extremely spacious. It is an OLD (like historic) facility - so it’s not the feel of new construction. But it would lose its vibe if it was. Definitely recommend! I’ll be back!
- 4/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Excellent staff and a prime location to enjoy Colorado and Manitou Springs!
- 5/5
Great friendly staff. Loved the bike themed room decorations. The live music in the hotel lobby on Friday night was a great bonus!
- 5/5
We loved our stay at The Buffalo Lodge. The rooms were unique decorated with a bicycle theme. Rooms were clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Live entertainment while we stayed there. The history of this little getaway is very interesting. We will be back.
- 5/5
This place is fabulous. Very pet friendly and social. Just a gem. Can't wait to return!!
- 5/5
Love the people that work there and it was quiet.
- 5/5
Wonderful place. So welcoming and they gave us ideas of several things to do locally. We were able to borrow bicycles and ride around the local area and Garden of the Gods. Which my grandson said was more fun than a pool. So, great place to stay with kids. You can hear your neighbors at times, which is probably similar to other older hotels, It's re-done so fun and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
We will definitely be back here and will recommend to our friends and family : )
- 4/5
It's a unique place to enjoy friendly atmosphere.
- 5/5
The lodge was adorable, clean, and comfortable. The staff were nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great location.Had a great little pub, played live music.
- 5/5
Breakfast needs to improve but everything else was great! Good location and service
- 5/5
This is an older hotel. It had a a very frenly vibe. Satff were awasome. They were having a month long event where potential gusts could run lapd around the interior parking and win free night. How cool. My only recomendation is they need non slip somethying in the shower/tub. Very slick tub.
- 5/5
This was a surprise how great our stay was! Spacious room, amenities were great, staff friendly and live nightly music was great! So convenient to everything in Colorado Springs and Garden of the Gods.
- 5/5
This lodge is a single lady’s passion project and the live and personal touch is very evident in everything they do. It’s a hidden gem nestled at the backdrop of the garden of the gods national park. This lodge has a special place among the locals and the staff is from the manitou springs area as well, who are very friendly and pleasant to work with. We were there during the new year eve and had an incredible time there enjoying live music, dancing and interacting with the local community members. We spent two days there and left with some beautiful memories. Now kids want to go back every year. They are a hub for bicycle lovers and sundry! They even provide free loaners city bikes. My kids enjoyed powering through the garden of the gods park with their bikes, which is no small feat. They’re looking to have more biking options available soon. Not your fancy hilton or marriott but comfortable relaxing stay amongst real people from the neighborhood!
- 5/5
We loved everything about this motel ❤️
- 5/5
Very kind staff
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and perfect. We really enjoyed our stay. Music was being played in the lounge and it was decorated for christmas.
- 5/5
Loved the open mic night. Rooms were in great condition. Overall very positive experience.
- 5/5
This place has great people who look after the lodge and visitors, wonderful music certain evenings and super comfortable, cozy rooms. We will be back again for sure.
- 5/5
Great stay, clean rooms, entertainment was fun.
- 4/5
The breakfast is very limited option. The coffee mugs in the room are very good. Nice room and spacious. We did not rent the bicycle, but I really liked the free offer. The area is safe and quiet. Not far from the restaurants and downtown.
- 5/5
Great location, live music, fun decor
- 5/5
I cannot recommend this place more. Fantastic. We will be back. Brought our boxer dog and she joined us for happy hour and to hear the live music. The room was clean and a really nice size!
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and quiet. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable! Looking forward to staying again!
- 5/5
Such charm! The beds weee amazingly comfortable. We didn’t participate in the evening entertainment due to being exhausted from touring all day but it looked enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Wow! Just wow! We are locals and were just looking for a staycation for our anniversary…can’t believe we found such a warm, inviting, music-filled, beautiful swimming oasis just minutes from where we call home! We cannot wait to come back! Thank you for being so awesome! Oh and the rooms are great!
- 4/5
Lobby was great! We loved the Yoga and the live music!
- 4/5
Breakfast bar needs to be reorganize. It doesn't have a good flow. One small house toaster for every one.
- 5/5
The suite we had was a good size for my family.
- 4/5
The only reasons for not giving it 5 stars were some minor issues with our room. The bath/shower needed to re-caulked and there were chips in the enamel of the tub. The fan in the bathroom (that comes on with the light) was extremely loud. Also, the bed was too firm for my liking, but might not be a problem for some.
- 4/5
Happy hour was a nice touch. Breakfast was typical. Room was clean and updated. Bed was a bit too soft.
- 5/5
If riding a bicycle is an important part of your life, this is your place. These are your people. There is a bike shop and mechanic on duty. There is often evening entertainment. It's an older facility and not everything up to modern standards. It's still a unique experience not to be missed.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Happy hour in their lobby bar. Live music the nights we stayed.
- 5/5
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort and we absolutely love it there! The staff were friendly, fun and informative. Great breakfast, great location, great CHARM!
- 2/5
My room had bedbugs, staff were helpful in getting me a refund but seemed to want to rush me out of the lobby so other customers wouldn’t hear
- 5/5
An amazing place to stay! We stayed in a tent and it was so cozy and very well priced. The amenities available were a huge bonus. The entire space felt cozy and adventurous, and the staff was all so kind! 10/10 would recommend, and we will definitely be coming back.
- 5/5
Parking was right outside your room. There was a small bar that served free breakfast in the morning. The room was clean and staff greeted you everywhere
- 4/5
Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Fun place to stay!
- 4/5
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. It was not the cleanest ans not enough parking.
- 5/5
Amazing and quiet place, close to all the good stuff in Co Spring and Manitou. Definitely will continue staying here!
- 5/5
Such an amazing stay! Thank you for the experience!
- 5/5
This is a quirky place with great bands and fun people.
- 5/5
Love the closeness to Garden of the Gods and many breweries nearby! It was easily walkable and they had a wonderful outdoor area.
- 5/5
Very close to Garden of the Gods.
- 5/5
Front desk was very friendly at check in. Nice and relaxing stay.
- 3/5
Great location and friendly staff. Room was dusty for what we paid. People parked in our spot, which was annoying.
- 5/5
Only stayed for one night & wish I could have stayed for longer. Staff were lovely, bed super comfy, location is ideal for hikes/cycling - the complimentary bikes is such a wonderful idea. Would love to come back and stay for a lot longer!
- 3/5
Positives first: The property is a great location for exploring Garden of the Gods. My grandkids loved riding whatever working bikes they could find all around the property. They had a great time! There is a heated outdoor pool that looked fun. The property is older and has a campground vibe. It has a lovely large outdoor patio with seating and a stage for their live music events. The food trucks were fun! Loved the warm community feel. Staff was friendly. Batter and waffle irons were provided to make your own breakfast, and they were the best waffles I have ever eaten! So, if you love waffles, you will love breakfast! Otherwise, they have a small selection of yogurt, whole fruit, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, English muffins and bread with various topping options. Improvements: The property needs updated for the price you pay. There was a sewer backup in which sewage liquid was running all down the road from in front of one of the units all the way to the office area, which is unsanitary. Someone was snaking the pipe, and it seems it should have been pumped into a tank instead of allowed to run down the road. Fortunately a good rain washed the road the next day, but we had to caution our grandkids not to bike through it or step in it. Last day at breakfast, milk had soured with no backup and bread was moldy. Hopefully just an off day. Greek yogurt which has more protein would be a nice option. Overall, basic accomodations with a fun, unique campground vibe.
- 5/5
Loved the stay with many activities, the room was nice and clean and the live music every night made for an enjoyable time
- 5/5
Quiet Room, easy & simple access to your room.
- 5/5
Really cute place. Super comfy bed. Really quiet. The bathroom was clean but dingy.
- 5/5
Great hosts, fun vibe, enjoyed the live music!
- 5/5
We loved the property! Planning to return with family!
- 5/5
Fun atmosphere, well cared for rooms and attention to detail. Staff was so helpful—put air in my son’s bike tire…Will be back!
- 5/5
The breakfast was excellent. Tasty waffles, English muffins, toast, cereals, fresh, fruit, yogurt, and good coffee.
- 5/5
Such a fun, relaxing place for me and my adult children to spend the weekend. The food truck and live music were awesome too!
- 5/5
What we loved was the vibe, the atmosphere and all the activities available, Such a positive space! We hope to come back!
- 5/5
Relaxed vibe that made everyone feel like family. Clean, nice breakfast, friendly people, really nice pool, music and evening entertainment. We will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Our second time staying. Such a wonderful little spot! Live music on the patio when we arrived. Great little outdoor sitting areas. Nice outdoor pool. And super friendly folks! Highly recommend!
- 5/5
It’s our 2nd stay here & we loved the glamping!!! The live music was outstanding!!! 3 Cheers for Tenderfoot Bluegrass Band!
- 5/5
Old school charm and easy going attitude. Great location!
- 4/5
The floors seemed a little dirty. Maybe they should have a rug at the door
- 5/5
Our kids loved their time here. They loved riding the available bikes and making friends with the guests and staff. Glad I found this place!
- 5/5
Super cute room! Appreciated the flexibility for checking out when I under estimated the time I’d need to finished the incline and get back to the room!
- 5/5
This is our favorite place to stay with our kids💗
- 5/5
Great place. Peaceful and bikes!
- 4/5
Breakfast was good but very crowded and took awhile to get access to the waffle irons for their signature golden waffles. Espresso was not actually available as listed.
- 3/5
Can see the positive upgrades they have done. But not a 9/10. We had a suite, bathroom sink and appliances very dated. Room was very clean.
- 5/5
Loved the quirky and charming place with a great outside venue. Wonderful location and the ability to use the bicycles to tour around is a fantastic idea.
- 2/5
While I understand this is a 2-star hotel, the cleanliness of our room was quite disappointing. The bedroom floor was dirty, the bed pillows were unclean, and we even discovered a bug on one of the beds. It appeared the room had been cleaned either carelessly or not at all, as evidenced by the dirt on the hall bedside table and a pair of glasses left near the desk. Furthermore, the bathroom bathtub had a couple of holes. The positive reviews for this lodge seem at odds with our experience, leading me to believe other rooms might be in better condition.
- 4/5
Cool laid back feel. Super close to all attractions.
- 5/5
Great little place! Very eclectic. Live music. Convenient location. Quiet. Nice room. Air conditioning didn’t really work that great. But everything else was awesome!
- 5/5
Very cozy, sweet motor hotel. Beautiful pool area, comfy beds, clean rooms.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay. Cool vibe.
- 4/5
Close to neighborhood
- 4/5
Loved this cute boutique motel for our recent trip. Convenient location to what we were doing. Sense of belonging was off the charts with the biking community. Decent breakfast though protein was lacking. Great bed! Easy parking and kind staff. Loved being able to grab a cruiser and poke around the neighborhood.
- 5/5
We like that there are so many outdoor things to do and a multi generational family can all have fun at the same time with pool, volleyball, ping pong, biking, and trips to red rocks parks garden of the gods and others such as pikes peak.
- 3/5
Proximity is nice, yet it’s a rustic and old complex. Restroom has significant mold in shower, plus low flow water pressure. You can’t flush the toilet and wash your hands at same time until the toilet fills up.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay. Second time staying here. Cozy room and nicely decorated. Comfy bed and clean room. Staff here is great! Highly recommend.
- 5/5
We had the best time here. The room was very nice, clean, great air conditioning. The food trucks and bands make it easy to never leave the property. There is so much beautiful riding in the area. Lots to keep you busy for days! And the pool was so fun! 🌸
- 4/5
Rooms are rustic and service was fantastic.
- 5/5
Everything we wanted in a vacation: bike rentals our kids & we enjoyed many times, waffles & coffee (GOOD coffee), cute heated pool area, right next to GotG, mountain views, friendly staff, live music every night. We had SO much fun on our 4 night stay!
- 5/5
Loved it!! So much character! Convenient to everything. The shared spaces are fantastic and the staff are attentive. Appreciated the happy hour hospitality too. Will be back!
- 5/5
We have stayed here before. Love the free use bicycles.
- 5/5
Loved the comfortable atmosphere! Friendly staff and plenty to do! Had an amazing stay!
- 5/5
Have already recommended to family coming through the area soon.
- 5/5
The rest of the property is a gem in CS. Recently beat out the BROADMOOR for awards. Can you believe it??
- 4/5
Quirky property with good service and adequate room. Run down condition of exterior really detracts from impression and experience
- 5/5
Very pleased with this locatoin close to Garden of the Gods !
- 5/5
Stayed here it was close to the wedding venue we were attending . Nice room and friendly staff
- 5/5
Great place, they just put up the patio for concerts and there was an awesome one when we attended. Friendly staff, love the simple Continental breakfast. Nice location
- 4/5
This property is very unique and the staff is exceptional. The room was very cute - the decor was great and the room was clean. My only issue was the loud air conditioning unit. Could barely sleep because it was so loud. Other than that, it was awesome!
- 5/5
Absolutely loved our stay! Location was perfect- walked to Garden of the Gods and a couple of fantastic restaurants. Fun atmosphere- live music and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
These women are absolute angels and it's such a lovely place!
- 5/5
It was very cute
- 5/5
Though the property is a bit old, everything was clean and functional for the most part.(we had a bit of trouble figuring out the shower)
- 3/5
Our stay was fine for the price, but don't think we'd stay again. The cycling decor is great, and the lane down to the units is really cute with the lights and decor. I was surprised that the room was pretty small for a king room. I think I got confused with the queen room that had a kitchenette too, but our room had only the bed and one chair. No table, etc, so there really wasn't room for us to sit and eat or do anything. There's no storage for your clothes besides a small hanging rack with a few hangers. The bed was pretty uncomfortable - it slanted on one side, and was very "bouncy". Our backs were not happy. The bathroom was a little run down, but fine. But it was soooo cold! There is no heat in the bathroom, so it was really cold in there even though we kept the door open as much as possible. The biggest complaint though is the heating unit in the bedroom. There's a wall mounted unit that heated the room fine, but it's extremely loud and it turns on and off constantly, sometimes as short as every 15 seconds! (I timed it during the night when I couldn't sleep.) I did not see a way to keep the fan on continuously. If it would at least stay on for a bit before turning off, that might've been better. Maybe it's best to stay here when you don't need heat or air conditioning, so the unit doesn't need to be on...
- 5/5
It was a great stay!!! The breakfast mini waffles were fantastic! It was really close to almost everything! We enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Super clean room, friendly staff, loads of charm. Maybe a hot breakfast option besides a waffle if i'm splitting hairs. But would stay again anytime! Well done!
- 5/5
Loved the area, everyone was friendly and welcoming!
- 5/5
This is the best place to stay in Colorado Springs. This is such a unique place and it’s hard to beat. The price is great, the rooms are clean with really comfortable beds and you can easily park your car right in front of your room door which makes carrying your bags to your room super easy. It’s in a quiet area, they offer live music in the evenings, breakfast in the mornings, and bikes to borrow and ride. On top of all of that, it’s really close to Garden of the Gods, and you can walk there in 15 minutes. Overall, the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort is great and I can’t wait to stay here again next time I’m visiting Colorado Springs.
- 5/5
I love this place!
- 5/5
Was a clean property. Liked the feeling of no one above you or below like regular places. Will book again.
- 5/5
Great location! Good evening entertainment! Breakfast could be better. Funky vibe!
- 5/5
Love this place! Super friendly staff. Use bikes at your own free will, no need to check them out. Live entertainment and bar for parents! What's not to love?
- 5/5
Can’t wait to come back to the Buffalo! A great place to stay!
- 5/5
Fun, funky vibe. Nothing fancy here, but very clean and family friendly. Happy Hour nightly plus live music and food trucks on the weekend. Involved in the surrounding cycling community. Will definitely return!
- 4/5
the hotel is good, the rooms clean
- 4/5
We had a great visit. We enjoyed the staff and the overall vibe. Definitely a unique experience. Very biker friendly. Nightly music was fun.
- 3/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The stay was okay. The property was in poor condition. Peeling paint outside. A chunk out of the plaster missing in the room. Very little space. But basically clean. It seems like a good place to stay for people who don't care that it hasn't been repaired or updated.
- 5/5
We LOVED staying here. The feel of the property is homey and welcoming. Breakfast options were good. Our room was spacious and comfortable. This place just has a feel that makes me want to come back. It was a lovely stay! Plus, super convenient to Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, and pretty much everything we wanted to do in the area.
- 5/5
The staff, service and events they have on site made this a very inviting stay. The room was great and the grounds were well kept. The only thing I would recommend they improve is the WiFi connection. My room had very spotty coverage. If you are a bicycle fan stay here and if you are not you should probably stay anyways.
- 5/5
It was a quick one night stay but wish we could have stayed longer. The staff is super friendly and it is clear they love their work. Love all the details, from plenty of towels to a heated blanket available and even free bottled water
- 4/5
This was our 2nd visit. We enjoyed the live band and riding the bicycles, and volleyball. It’s close to hiking and shopping,
- 5/5
If you want a typical hotel stay, don’t do it. You don’t deserve Buffalo Lodge! Thank you all for a great time!
- 5/5
It’s a fun kitschy place. Has a retro feeling and friendly staff. The use of bikes was nice. The heated pool was relaxing. The location was convenient to garden of the gods and Manitou Springs.
- 5/5
Great funky motel/hotel. Staff were wonderful. Loved the social happy hour with the bar on site. Great to meet others after a fun day exploring Manitou Springs. Definitely would stay there again.
- 4/5
Some small updates to the bathroom could make it a little more inviting! Hand towels and a bathmat would help a ton!

The Buffalo Lodge is full of charm and welcoming staff. We felt like family as soon as we arrived. A wonderful stay for a couple from the Midwest looking to explore the Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs and Pikes Peak. The pool was a refreshing option after returning from our explorations. Bravo Buffalo Lodge staff.

We loved the buffalo lodge. You can borrow bikes to ride to the Garden of Gods and the pool was amazing. The rooms are decorated so cute . Definitely would stay here again.

Fantastic place with all of the character and charm of the historic colorado community. Neighbors join in the fun with music, drinks, and food trucks. Love the bike theme of the property. The pool is awesome.

Fun place to stay, convenient to Garden of the Gods and other attractions. Breakfast options were good, and we enjoyed the live music and food truck on Friday evening. The pool looked nice, but we didn't have time to use it. The only negative was that the walls are thin, and we could hear voices from next door, but otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed this place, thoroughly. The rooms and common areas were clean. The staff was friendly. You felt safe. Other guest were polite. We requested more towels the first morning and new bed linens after the first night and they restocked the room with the right amount of towels when they remade the beds. This was a thoughtful touch. The thing to realize when staying here is that this is not a major chain. It's locally owned and operated. The main building is over 100 years old. So it isn't the most modern place to stay. But it makes up for all that and more! We used to free bike rentals to explore the area on a cool morning.
