The people there are quite friendly and helpful as they provide a nice atmosphere, I just wish they were as transparent with information that newcomers wouldn’t know. For instance, it reads “spa” on a sign but it’s simply a pool and hot tub.

We were here for an overnight stay with shuttle service for an early morning flight out of Atlanta. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Shuttle service to airport was excellent and on time. Hotel had a restaurant in lobby but we did not dine there but available if needed.

If you are looking for a clean hotel and a nice clean room, this is a great choice. Keurig cups in the room but no coffee in the morning in the lobby. Just ask for extra coffee and bring your own creamer. Make sure to set up housekeeping the prior day, it's hit or miss daily. The burger place attached restaurant has a great grilled chicken sandwich, we brought them to the room and for only $5 more got a second breast. Also the Ruby Tuesday, about a block away was phenomenal. Trust us.

Pictures of hotel probably oversell the actual size and newness of the hotel. It’s a hotel with tiny reception desk, reception area and the bar is not huge. But it’s very functional and clean. The best part of hotel was room size, which was big, quiet if you don’t mind noisy ac (for us it’s nice background noise) and the staff very accommodating and nice. One watch out - we had breakfast included - you get a voucher for $18 - you can’t buy a decent breakfast for that here. So we had to pay extra which was a little disappointing.

This hotel is very convenient to the airport. It served its purpose in that regard. You will hear airplanes at night but that’s to be expected. Safe parking. Small oddly laid out bathroom but I was only there for 12 hours so not a big deal. The Burger Place attached to the hotel was convenient for dinner. If you’re looking for a convenient place to stay close to the airport, this is a decent place for a decent price.

ENTIRE 4th floor smelled like weed. Talked past rooms either "no smoking" signs and clearly that wasnt enforced. It was so strong its all I could smell. Staff was unpleasant. You can clal it cultural or whatever, but working in hospitality the whole "black eye roll" crap is NOT OK. I dont need attitude from some woman that doesnt like her job or thinks its acceptable to act like Im inconveniencing her by asking her to do her JOB! Wont be staying here again. Sincerely considered just leaving, but my son was alresdy flying in from Miami. Keep your "cultural" disrespect to yourself and your people.

Pool was no available to guest due to a private event going on then the Hotel charged a fee to guest who stayed here to have acess to the pool when we are already a guest in this hotel it defeats the purpose of charging me a resort fee where I can’t have acess to use it so I demand a full refund for my resort fees

We ordered drinks from the bar and the bartender was polite and accommodating, but the drinks (a gin martini and gin & tonic) tasted nothing like what we ordered. It’s hard to imagine how to make a gin & tonic incorrectly, but clearly the drink had no tonic water…perhaps they substituted club soda?? The worst drinks we’ve ever had. Someone needs to educate the bartenders.

Now I really only came to this hotel to be closer to the airport for my flight the next day, I can appreciate the room: bed was comfortable, water was nice and hot. I was able to get the room warm quickly. What I want to highlight is my dinner at Burger Palace. Real chill good customer service. Food was good. Reasonable in price. Was able to get picked up by the shuttle and get to the airport on time.

The location, the room, and the staff was all fantastic. The only thing that really upset me was the $22 parking fee that should’ve been notated somewhere in the booking details that was 22 extra dollars that I was not prepared to spend in this day $22 is a lot to throw away on a parking spot for eight hours.

When attempting to get our vehicle out of the gated but very pricey parking lot the attendant got upset because I had to push button and literally said, “ Brang yo ass thru the gate” The most pleasurable encounter was with Mrs Wanda, she was kind and offered to accommodate us as best she could.Also I encounter Wendy at the front desk who was pleasant.

If a hotel is going to relay on cards for parking, they need to work on efficiency, especially if you are paying extra money for parking.

Stayed the night before our early morning flight so we could get to the airport early. The 1st shuttle didn’t leave for the day until 4:30 and our flight was at 6:20 so take that into account if you’re relying on the morning airport shuttle. Room was comfortable once we got the AC on but hallways and elevator were really warm. Room was decently clean :)

I usally get a print out when I check out because they take a credit card. When I requested it they said they couldn't provide it because I had booked through a 3d party. The reply had the tone of how stupid could I be. Lot's of hotels near the airport. I'll find a different one for sure.

I booked for 5days and it stated 413 for two people then I was close to my flight and it doubled to 800 so I had to cancel twice for I refused to get scammed as an American soldier with all that is going on

Would NOT stay here again. This hotel is no where near 8/10 as orbitz suggests. I would give this place a 4/10 at most. If it wasn’t just a quick overnight for an early flight I would have left and booked somewhere else. The on site restaurant has a 2 star rating on google so we opted to go to a restaurant for dinner. The rooms look like they haven’t been updated since 1992. Yellowed wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom. Shower squealed a high pitched noise the entire time. The hottest setting on the tub spout was barely warm enough for a proper shower. The only microwave was a shared microwave in the ice room way down the hall. The temperature in the hallway leading to the room was so hot uit was almost unbearable. The pool is extremely tiny. The photo on the listing is clearly taken in a way to make it look bigger. The room was $130 and parking is $22 per night. The quality of this hotel is more aligned with a $60 hotel.

For the price you’d think that parking is included and breakfast . Breakfast is 18$ PER PERSON PER DAY. Parking is 22$ PER DAY. The shower water was cold. Not even warm . It was ice cold and even after letting it run it didn’t warm up. The air in the room didn’t work. The ice machine on the floor didn’t work. Everything was terrible. I can go on . Wouldn’t recommend this hotel and wouldn’t recommend the are either.

The person who checked me in had an attitude, then gave me a room with the bathroom with a smell, i did not get my "breakfast included" for my stay. The lady i did tell about the bathroom did move me to another room but when i got back after a long day there was no hot water. Needless to say definitely staying with Sonesta again. The hotel staff were very rude both during the check-in and check-out process. During the check-in process no information was provided either about additional charges like parking or hours for breakfast. After my departure, I had a billing issue and called the hotel a few days later and was once again confronted with a very rude front-desk staff. It was a pleasant surprise to interact with a professional and friendly accounting staff. I would not recommend staying at this hotel mainly due to the staff.

Check process was easy and staff was absolutely incredible dont change that. I even had interaction with the engineering team and they were amazing. The lobby was nice you can tell that it was a focal piece of the hotel. There was little details that need attention. First, the room we started in shower was coming out the wall, they responded immediately and moved us into another room, however that room shower also wont close well. So it looks as if that needs to be addressed or accessed in all the rooms. Rooms were nice but furniture was dated. It seems likes quality furniture so maybe just a good paint job or refurbishment would suffice. And the pool was closed but that wasn't a big deal at that time. We had dinner there in the restaurant again staff was A+. The food was okay. Loved the fries and my daughter liked her chicken fingers. But my burger you can tell was a frozen patties and it topped with fresh tomatoes and lettuces and jalapeños which is good but it made the frozen patty more noticeable and not for the right reasons. My daughter and i also had breakfast there. We purchased the breakfast package with our room so we only had to cover the cost for the drinks. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would visit this hotel again.

The room was immaculate. Bed linen was clean and smelled fresh. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant, delicious entrees, knowledgeable wait staff and very affordable pricing. I have no negatives as this establishment was everything you could hope for and more. I recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Atlanta. Many many thanks.

Medianamente recomendable. Hasta este momento no sé como hacer para que se me reintegre ese dinero porque yo pagué a través de Expedia con mi tarjeta de crédito y fue en recepción que solicitaron que registrara mi tarjeta "just in case" pero siendo una persona que visita hoteles constantemente sé perfectamente que la habitación se devuelve tal cual la recibe uno en el check in.

Was only there for about 8 hours. Leeanua (this is not the correct spelling) was amazing and helpful when I checked in Saturday night. She took the time to give me directions and it was incredibly helpful. She made my stay great. The room was clean, but just a bit out dated. Bed was clean and comfortable. Airport shuttle got us to the airport bright and early Sunday morning. I would stay again. The only other oddity, was the shower curtain rod was angled and the curtain didn’t stay closed on one end.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Sonesta in Atlanta. After a long drive from Miami, we arrived excited, but the front desk service was terrible. The woman at the front desk barely acknowledged us—no greeting, no smile. She was mumbling and had such a dismissive, almost angry attitude. All she did was demand my ID with a frown, and she provided zero information—we had to ask about parking, the elevator, and everything else. She didn’t even say hello or goodbye. It was shocking because I was trying to be cheerful, and she just shut me down. While the rest of the staff wasn’t quite as bad, they were also disengaged. To top it off, there was a lack of communication—someone tried to open our door even though we were inside, which was really unsettling. In a hotel, you expect to feel welcome and safe, but I left feeling ignored and unwelcome. I won’t be returning.

We were told they oversold the rooms. We needed and booked double room. Gave us a single bed and a cot. Delivered the cot with only a sheet for a blanket. Asked them for a blanket and they never came back. There are much better hotels to stay at around the Atlanta Airport.

Booked this room because of its proximity to the Atlanta Airport as I had a 6 am flight and was very pleasantly surprised. It's a lovely hotel with a very nice restaurant and bar and several other amenities. We had a wonderful meal and our room was spacious and very clean. Location to ATL. The staff on duty on March 17/18, 2026 was unfriendly and demeaning. After refusing to acknowledge the erroneous confirmation I received on the Booking.com website, the staff refused to honor the Booking.com price, and instead tried to extort me for double the rate. This all happened after midnight, following a missed connection from a transcontinental flight due to a late arrival. My wife and I were tired from the long flight and delay at the airport, and the staff tried to take advantage of this. This was a terrible experience.

Little things were off. The desk clerk wasn’t friendly on check in, and was on a personal call when we checked out. In an empty bar, the bartender was on her phone much of the time. The entry doors to the hotel from the parking lot were blocked off which meant we had to drag luggage around to the front of the hotel. The shower faucet couldn’t be adjusted to hot because the shampoo dispenser was installed in the way. The television channels didn’t include the Master’s golf tournament. All small things.

My family loved the burger place and the breakfast the food was fairly priced and delicious! My kids went swimming all 5 days we were there they loved the pool and hot tub. My kids made friends while at the pool as well we really enjoyed our visit! There were a few stains on her sheets! We were never offered new towels!

We planned on going to the hotel, check in , taking our showers & getting ready to go to tye Hawks game but, when tye shadow bus pulls up to the hotel we saw fire trucks & polices ..apparently 1 of the hotel rooms caught on fire, instead of management outside to have an employee let us know what we had to do..we were stuck outside along with another hotel guests just standing clueless.after 30 mins 1 employee suggested that we go to another hotel because it was so much smoke throughout the hotel..so we had to take Uber a hour away to pick up our rental , fund another hotel , we were a hour late getting to our event

The hot tub water was COLD and the pool water was WARM…. The airport shuttle service on hotels.com said it started at 4am but they have made a “new” sign on the front desk saying it is 430am. We had to order a $20 UBER (to drive 5 min) because of the 30 min unknown change. I was not expecting that surprise extra expense. This is the reason I picked this hotel over others in the area. The onsite burger place also said they were open till 11pm, 830pm and they were closed….what looked like for hours already. Again this was yet another surprise expense to get food delivered. This is also why I picked this hotel over Others. The employees were very nice, would I stay here again? Maybe….i would make sure to get dinner before getting dropped off and plan my flight times accordingly to their shuttle service.

Very mixed review of this hotel. Let me start with the positives. Staff was amazing. It was very clean and well taken care of. The pool was very warm which was perfect. Could not rate hot tub as it was not working. Room darkening curtains worked wonders and the bed was very comfortable. Loved that a microwave was available on the floor. Now the negatives. Very dated bathroom and lights in the bathroom and entrance. The lights flickered like an old gas station bathroom when turning on, so anyone with photo sensitivity be careful. My shower was an open air shower (no not a wheelchair accessible as it would not fit through the doorway) and the water was warm at best. So not the most pleasant shower experience as I was freezing. Restaurant on site had a very limited menu and no mention of this was anywhere. Guess it was in the middle of a remodel. Also think $22 a night to park is insanity. Overall a decent place for a night or 2 but I was there for 5 and likely would not return unless there are other bathroom options available and the parking is decreased.

Server at restaurant managed to get everything wrong multiple times. Hottub was not working properly some of our stay. We frequented the pool area and there were rarely any towels. Staff seemed consistently annoyed when asked for towels or would leave you waiting soaking wet in your bathing suit for a long line of people checking in. Front desk staff was friendly for the most part. Could definitely tell they didn’t want to be at work. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool and gym was nice. Room was decent for the price. The major issue was lack of security and parking. Multiple cars were broken into during our stay. We couldn’t get comfortable due to the fear of our vehicles being broken into. Gate was pointless because anyone could drive and walk through. Even the police said that security was awful because the company basically only worked when they want to. Front desk really didn’t seem bothered by the vandalism. It’s like they knew it would happen and was used to it. I would only stay if you aren’t driving. Do NOT leave your vehicle there!!

The only reason we chose this hotel was for the Hot tub.. we called and confirmed that they actually had a hot tub before booking. And that it was working. We got there and was told it was working. We checked in to find that it was not. I called eight hotels that advertised hot tub as an amenity on Expedia before finding this hotel, which actually did have a hot tub… It just didn’t work. Expedia frequently allows hotels to advertise amenities that they don’t have and never have had.

As I checked in the hotel, received key to room 524 and tried to access room with no luck (key didn’t work). A maintenance guy was in our room at the time saying he had to fix the tub faucet (strange). Received call from front desk we need to move into another room due to upstairs leakage. The bathroom floors full of water which came into the hallway and room where our luggage and things were. We had to repack our things and move into another room 519. Getting ready to enjoy the rest of the evening ( we thought), the sink faucet had low water pressure and the shower water was brown so we couldn’t take a shower. By this time my headache was hurting and very upset how things quickly changed. Went back downstairs to let the desk person know what was going on and she apologized and that the manager will be on duty the next day. During check out I discussed wha took place and notations were previously added on the day of displacement. She told me that she will request for me to get a total refund due to the inconvenience. I’m requesting a total refund.

Our first room smelled like smoke- there happened to be lots of smokers staying in the Non-smoking hotel. There was almost no food available at the hotel “store”- cereal but no milk. And the beer at the restaurant wasn’t really worth ordering, honestly. It doesn’t seem like it would be all that difficult to step it up a notch. But it is close to the airport and the pool was nice and warm.

Front desk staff was rude to me from the moment I stepped in front of her before I can mutter a word. Nice to everyone before and after me. Especially rude the second time I spoke with her. Booked here because the last flight out ATL to EWR was oversold. A lot of others experiencing the same thing… I get to my first room there are bugs crawling on the pillow. Mind you, by the time I check in it is well after 12am. Exhausted is an understatement at this point so having to deal with bugs… I go back down and tell her the issue. She basically is flabbergasted like she could not believe bugs existed in this dirty hotel. Next room I was given smelled like someone had been hotboxing cigarettes. By this point I had to just call it a night and catch my quick Zz’s. Morning comes, and front desk lady is still especially rude to me however; pleasant to everyone else. If you have to stay in a budget hotel next to the airport, maybe pick Hyatt or somewhere else just not Sonesta South.

And eight window hissed as wind blew.conditions qerw not favorable.Also on website they list breakfast as if it's included! ! Paid 63.27 for breakfast .if it was portion and quality there no problem.You need tk review pricing on cranberry juice $5 for 6oz. Wine glass of juice,come on. 2eggs for $5 money money money on a deplorable property.a name change from holiday in express but no improvements or upgraded amenities is robbing all consumers.tuen the heat lamps on in the lobby that are there.put a blower on gireplace mantle to move heat around the area).This is NOT hospitality!!!!! I felt like an inconvenience and was paying.The young man who checked me on was amazing,friendly and courteous. Am i wrong to want the basics that i get from other brands,NO......A resonable expectations of room worth sleeping in without plumbing issues.or being taken advantage of with over priced food that wasnt cooked by someone who cared.flashed cooked omelete immediately burn/scorched half flip and meat flipped and plated.Give meal worth it.i work hard and eat out often. My check-in was wonderful. Staff was friendly, professional, proficient and informative. My checkout was horrible. The front desk person claimed to be unaware that I prepaid for late checkout and parking. My keycard was deactivated while I was out of the room and the staff person was unfriendly and cold when I asked to have it reactivated. She asked me several times if I paid for late checkout instead of just checking the account. I asked her if she saw it noted on my account and she didn’t respond, just reactivated the card with an attitude. Then when I was checking out she asked me if I paid for parking because she wanted to make sure it was on my bill. For those specific reasons I will never choose to stay at Somesta again when I return to Atlanta.

Property is very dated and the heat wasn't working properly. The door frames are rusty and there was a pubic hair on one of the towels. Shower pressure was great and water was hot but I wont be returning.

Price of $80/night was right for what I got. Clean room, but very old property- zero upgraded features. I have stayed at MUCH NICER Sonestas before, so I thought I was getting the deal of a lifetime with that price. Front Desk Clerk, Mohammed, was great. Shuttle service early/late night was convenient and Quinten was an excellent employee. If it wasn’t for those two guys I would have rated lower.

The hotel's lobby and guest areas seem to be clean and well furnished. However, the room that I had even though it was clean, it needed some renovations. That is, the iron door jamb was rusting, the bathroom wallpaper was beginning to peel off, and the mattress cover on one of the beds was ragged and hanging out from the top covers. The repair of these items would bring my stay into a higher level.

The hotel was nice, the check-in was not. It started at the airport, I called to see how did the shuttle worked and they cut me off and let me waiting for more than 20 min on the line. I ended up figuring it out on my own. At the hotel there were two employees at the front desk, only one was doing the check in and there was a big line. The person was clearly overwhelmed and was cutting corners to a point that had attitude toward the guest.

The Sonesta Hotel is beautiful clean and they have a restaurant inside the hotel so you don’t have to leave once you get situated. The room with the king bed was quite spacious with a large TV and a big comfy cozy bed. The only drawback if you like it dark and quiet is you’re right by the airport and the planes are leaving every few minutes and you can hear them. It doesn’t seem to bother me because you kind of get used to the sound of them, but for some that might be offputting. The room has a small fridge And a coffee machine with a tea option for mornings. I love white bedding because I can tell real quick if it’s clean or not, and it was super clean room bed and bathroom. Check-in was fast and friendly, and I went straight up to my room even though The restaurant had very nice options of burgers and even a warm brownie with a scoop of ice cream. I definitely hope to remember this hotel for my next traveling adventure.

The state of this property is terrible. The lobby is the only thing nice. The room is not only outdated but full of mold. The sheet were not clean, even the curtains were dirty. The first room we were in sink clog after i washed my hands in wouldn’t drain. They moved us to a room across the hall but it was filthy too.

The room was clean and just what I needed. The airport shuttle was convenient and being able to pay to leave my car parked at the hotel was so helpful. Quinton, my shuttle driver on the way back, was friendly and entertaining :) Mohammad at the front desk was helpful and welcoming.

First they got my dates wrong so therefore I had to change my plans completely because I couldn’t get a refund and I had insurance protection. So I didn’t understand what the protection was for. Next I go to check in and was told I had to pay another 50 dollars for a security deposit, which was never told to me when I booked. Getting past that I get in my room and there’s no microwave. The bathroom door handle was broken so I tried to go and wind down in Jacuzzi area no towels, so I had to use the towels from my hotel room after getting out of Jacuzzi. I went to the front desk to ask for more towers and unfortunately, there was no more towels so at this point I was over the whole hotel. I would never stay here again. I use Expedia all the time and this was the first time that I had this type of experience

Hotel did not show that we paid for reservation on Hotels.com and charged us directly again in order to do the check in. We called Hotels.com because we did prepay and they couldn’t figure it out with hotel. So now we paid twice - one to Hotels.com and again to hotel.

The hotel’s checkout time is 11:00 AM. I utilized the hotel shuttle to return to my room at approximately 10:20 AM, intending to gather my belongings and check out. To my shock, I found that the room had been completely serviced and my personal items were being removed. I was only lucky enough to arrive when I did, or my stuff—including clothing, essential medication, and food—would have been lost. The room server, seeing my remaining items, had clearly made the assumption that I had already checked out. When I followed up with the manager, she apologized, but her explanation was genuinely alarming: she stated that staff sometimes categorize items, even luggage, left in the room as trash, which is why they were clearing my belongings. My concern is pointed directly at the chain hotel's training and SOP. How is it possible that your staff are authorized, or feel compelled, to declare a paying guest's property as garbage and clear the room before the official checkout time? This protocol introduces a massive and unnecessary security risk for your guests. I expect the hotel to immediately address and revise the training that allows staff to make such an assumption and disregard the clear 11:00 AM checkout time. I don't want anyone got punished, but alarmed with this situation.

The check in and out process was smooth. The staff at the front desk were very polite. I had a 6 night stay so the microwave was sort of important to me only to find out that it doesn’t work. It may seem small but I couldn’t understand why a hotel couldn’t ensure they had a microwave in good condition for their guest. I had family that were staying on another floor and they had the same issue . It would literally take 14mins to warm up a plate of food. Other than that, you have to request cleaning daily if you want it . One lady seemed irritated that I asked her and told me to just put and leave all of my garbage in the hallway even after I told her I would throw it away in her cart for her. The bathrooms were not in the best shape. The towel hanger was broken, there was mold above the shower head. Everything else was ok.

The room was clean, the staff could be friendlier, my check in staff was not happy and seemed annoyed when I was checking in...it would be nice to have some coffee creamer or sugar with the coffee maker in the room. A microwave would be nice too since there was a fridge provided. Other than that, it was a decent stay. Very close to the airport and the shuttle staff were very kind and took care of us there and back!

One night stay. Receptionist was a bit curt during check-in. Room smelled of smoke. Room and common areas appeared dated, uninviting, and in need of a make-over. Receptionist was supposed to give us vouchers for breakfast at check-in, but failed to do so; I had to fix that at breakfast the next morning. Will look elsewhere for accommodations next time.

Unbelievable value for money. Check in was perfect - lots of information re hotel shuttle, dining and even information about closest gas station. Rooms were immaculately clean. We had diner at hotel burger restaurant and meal was spot on. The hotel shuttle to airport leaves every 30 mins and is only 10 minutes drive from the airport. We had an early morning flight so it was perfect in every way.

Nothing was advertised properly. There was no free breakfast, we had to ask for coffee in the room, they came and took our towels but didn’t replace them so we had to ask the staff for towels. There was nowhere to refill a water bottle unless you go to the restaurant and they aren’t always open. The laundry said $3 and it charged me $8 to wash a shirt and not dry. They charge for everything. Nothing is complimentary except the shuttle. The drivers are great but that’s all.

The room was clean and had enough space for our many many bags. There was an airport shuttle but we just had too many bags for it. The staff was wonderful. They were helpful, and accommodating. Made a mistake when booking the rooms so I had to make two separate bookings for each night. They made the transition for it easy and uncomplicated. Having to travel half way across the world with a toddler, a cat, a dog and our entire lives with us they helped make part of our trip a lot less stressful and I will forever be thankful for it.

Let me stand where it said wait to be seated for 5 minutes. Then I walked up to the bar. Told her I wanted to order something She walked away and stayed talking to the people at the bar. The room I was given was not the nicest the bathroom had holes in the wall the wallpaper was torn and peeling the light fixtures in the bathroom were uncovered there was rust stains on the sink counter and there were weirdos making noise all day and night outside my door and above me wherever upstairs. I don't feel my stay was horrible but it definitely wasn't nice. The manager gave me dirty rude looks the few times she saw me and was pretty much unpleasant. She automatically judged me and it showed and that is not something I can just dismiss. The staff was ok and respectful. The male front desk clerk I encountered was kind of rude as well. I just feel if you have a customer that's nice just show them the same treatment even if your personal views don't agree. Like do your job! The room is basic level clean meaning not dirty at all just not wow factor. The linens and towels smelled like the kitchen in the restaurant at the hotel wash all of their items with the hotels not a good smell. All in all I know it's not the upscale hotels in the good part of towns but lets make sure these places are held to a higher standard. Do the job you're paid to do.
