Courtyard Marriott Clemson

The lady at the front desk was very helpful and very friendly. The elevators need a cleaning. The room was nice enough but it was not clean. The bathroom had hair on the floor in the shower. Huge turn off. Loud a/c. But the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet otherwise. I've stayed in a lot of courtyard Marriott over the years and this one was not up to my expectation.

A normal cart would have made it so much easier. Just being picky about this however it is time for update on carpet in hallways and in the room.They are pretty worn out.

This is a completely acceptable place to stay for a few nights in Clemson but nothing special.

Also whatt was misleading was the statement that this Marriot Bonvoy was closest to Clemson University. It was not. I will not ever stay at a Marriot Bonvoy again. I will also inform our 8000 person data base of this Marriot Bonvoy policy.

Room was nice and modern. Location was near university which was a plus for us. Booking.com advertised an “American breakfast” and when we checked in we were told breakfast was 7-10. The breakfast consisted of muffins and donuts and coffee. That was it. And it was all put away,even the coffee, by about 9:30. Considering the obesity epidemic, especially in the South, why would you serve sugar laden things? I was quite disappointed by this. It would have been acceptable if breakfast had not been advertised-then it would have been a pleasant surprise.

Cleanliness was a little lacking .

Well, it reinforced why I’m a Hilton Honors member, so that was good! We booked a room for four with a king size bed and a pull out sofa. The sofa was a twin bed. That’s ridiculous. The room shouldn’t be sold for four people. And the pull out couch itself was pretty gross. The staff wasn’t helpful at all regarding this. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others.

Not what I come to expect from a Marriot property. The toilet was broken and would constantly run if not for me taking the tank lid off and making adjustments. The boxspring under the mattress appears to be broken by the sunken in spot within the bed.

Television didn’t work right. Shower head almost unattached from wall. Upon entering the bath 4 long black hairs on floor. I have short gray hair and my spouse is bald.

Staff very friendly. Linda was excellent. Highly recommend hotel. Everything is within a short drive.

We had a great stay. Property is nice, but old. Bathrooms need to be redone. Grout is old and discolored. Hooks on wall are falling off. A/C & bathroom fans are noisy. Comfy bed. Very convenient if you’re coming for Clemson activities.

So close to Southern Wesleyan University & Clemson University. Walking distance for breakfast and lunch, safe area and gorgeous property. Will definitely be back!

Love this hotel

We booked this hotel specifically so my son with special needs could swim in the outdoor pool. We when went to look at the pool upon arrival (Saturday) there was a signed attached to the entry gate saying “Pool closed.” Upon checking in, the front desk employee told me the maintenance man said the pool was not right (I assume chemically) and that he would not return until Monday and that the pool would remain closed.

Great hotel. Clean -safe - nice room!

My first room was horrible. The shower head was separating from the wall, there was mold in the shower, and there was a smell in the room. Once, I reported the conditions to the hotel front desk another room was assigned to me. I have to admit my disappointment, because the Marriott brand is associated with quality. I stay at Marriott hotels because worries about cleanliness is taken off the table.

We were hoping for some breakfast to be provided.

Good for quick trip overnight stay

The hotel was clean and laid out well upon entering. The only knock I have was specifically with my room. The shower head was loose and hung straight down making you have to almost get near the wall with the handle to get under the water. That was aggravating. Both of the electrical outlets near the beds would not hold a plug. Meaning, when you plugged in a cord, it literally fell right out of the socket. Also aggravating considering its location. Overall, the hotel was great and I would recommend the stay. If you’re going to be there longer than two nights as I was and you encounter these issues, have them looked into.

Our stay here was great - perfect location for being close to Clemson University for a tour, and the outdoor pool was nice to lounge by in the afternoon.

Property is not as clean as it used to be. Elevator floor was filthy, almost like it was being used for construction. Room had a musty damp smell upon entering and the bathroom was not very clean. The water pressure was non existent so. Also the HVAC system was very loud, when clicking on. Bedding linen did not smell fresh. Lastly internet was out of service the entire 2 night stay. I was not informed of this upon check in and was only told after asking the front desk for WiFi log in instructions.

The property is extremely clean in common areas and rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was very large and convenient.

After a 28 hour travel day to get to Clemson, Vee at the Marriott courtyard made our stay wonderful and relaxing. If my daughter ends up at Clemson, we will definitely make this our home away from home.

It was one of the best stays we’ve had in a long time from a hotel in any brand. Clean, comfortable, great staff, fresh made coffee for purchase in lobby vs that stale carafe. And the price was very reasonable.

Wonderful hotel but disappointed in the fact that there was no free breakfast or coffee. Yes, I know there is coffee that you make in the room but 99% of the hotels I have stayed in offer continental breakfast. After spending 150/night isn’t it work breakfast and coffee.

Front desk person was nice during our late check-in, but the room had problems. First, the TV did not work. We arrived around 11:00pm, so we didn’t complain about the TV — it was time for bed anyway — but then we discovered that the toilet in the room wasn’t working either. The toilet handle had come loose and would not trigger a flush. I fixed that myself, but then we learned the toilet would not “empty” even when we got the flush working. Then, the next morning, we found out that breakfast was not included in the room rate — a surprise vs. the other Courtyards we have stayed at in the past. We paid approx. $170 for this room night, but it felt like an $89 value…

Erika behind the bistro was super to us and Z was just the best staff member to help us get our group together as we prepared to leave for a wedding (45 minute bus ride to the mountains). We had a splendid time!

I have found a little cheaper around the university and some are good, but you get what you pay for and Marriot knows how to run a property. It was very clean. People were professional and very courteous, even if we did not like the answer. They tried to make the stay enjoyable and not frustrating. I have tried many near the university and they are one of the bests.

The young lady at the front desk (whose name I’m blanking on right now) made check-in a breeze… very efficient & friendly even though she was helping us, the phone was ringing, and another customer kept coming to the counter to ask her questions. The room itself was clean & comfortable. Just remember to stop at a convenience store beforehand because the “market” at the hotel is pricy ($20 for 3 gatorades & a small bag of chips).
