As with most dated Holiday Inn properties, this location needed work. After 4 1/2 decades of traveling, I remember when HI was the hotel of choice. I chose this location specifically for the price.

The staff were awesome. We only stayed for an early flight, 5:40 am, so we didn't get to be there long but it was very quiet for a good night's rest. The bed was great.

Our stay was not bad. The pool however made both me and my partner broke out in an itchy rash. They may need to do something about that. Also, all the exterior doors were unlocked which is a bit of a security concern in sure.

Literally turned the water on and it wouldn’t drain, pretty gross. Sink and shower. The chair in the room was massively stained. So yeah. Maybe they’re renovating or something or I just got dealt a trash room.

Traveling with my daughter for BTS at RJS. Our stay was 3 nights and although we weren’t at the hotel a lot it was extremely pleasant. Conveniently located. Facilities were clean and up to date. We did not partake in the bar or restaurant offerings but there was always a decent crowd in the dining area when we passed by. Space was well situated and tables were not on top of each other. The pool and spa were lovely and enjoyable just wish it was open to guests later into the night. It would have been wonderful to my sore muscles from all the walking. Overall a five out of five experience. Will stay again when tracking to the area.

For the amount that I paid for, the amenities were not that great. A lot of other Holiday Inn properties I’ve been to provided free continental breakfast, towels provided for guests at pool area, and housekeeping at least on the 3rd day of stay. My daughter and I were there for a total of 5 nights and we didn’t get housekeeping once. The internet never worked so we had to use our phone data throughout the whole stay. I was hoping there would be streaming services on the TVs but there wasn’t and it was just regular cable channels. I attempted to screen mirror with my phone or iPad but that didn’t work either. There were stains on the bathtub, curtain, and lamp near the window. The only good thing I liked about our stay was the kindness from staff members. Outside of that, it truly was not worth the $1200 I paid for since I expected more amenities for that high of an amount.

Property is clearly aging and minimal upkeep is obvious. Paid for better breakfasts for $28 Yup no breakfast at all the next morning. Bad coffee and an apple was the compensation.

Quiet and clean place to stay

Important note: Hotels.com listing says "airport shuttle," but it's for PIE only, not TPA, and the night I arrived they had no driver. It's a $32-40 Uber ride.

No, no shuttle if plane arrives after 10:30 pm & ours did so we had to Uber. Then when we left on a Monday no shuttle after 1:30 pm no driver. Disappointing!

Parking was easy. The room was clean upon arrival but room service did not service our room and we were there for 3 days. The beds were terribly loud and the bed frames were the cause.

Old hotel- bathroom badly needs updating. Very upset to find no hot water in shower - evening time. One of the (only two) bath towels had a clearly visible brown substance on the front of it (not just a stubborn stain). Very poor signage to hotel and limited parking in front. Disappointing even for a one night stay to be close to PIE. Airport. Plenty of other hotels all around - avoid this one.

Found out they didn’t do shuttle to Tampa only to St Pete after searching for hotels with shuttle service for our flight. Got there at 9 pm on Friday during busy season and hotel bar closed at 9 every though there were people in the bar. Workout facility had an empty water jug. Went for coffee at 9am and it was empty. Overall seemed more about running with a lean staff than making sure our stay was good.

Easy parking, easy check in process. Some negative talk between the check in staff from the manager during check in but everybody has bad days. Ants in room and pictures on site make the hotel appear more updated than it actually is. Overall not terrible for having airport right next door (there was minimal to no noise from planes).

Beds were comfortable, room a bit warm (but it is Florida) Breakfast was very good, however, Holiday Inn was very skimpy on allowing food for everyone in room(2 breakfasts per room) which is ridiculous when you’re paying for extra person in room. Should be buffet like other IHG hotels, etc. Water and hot coffee should be in lobby (for Free) at all times of the day. Bar/restaurant on site was decent, food ok (bar food)’ overall good for a night or two stay but nothing more.

I originally called the front desk to ask about early check-in. The representative let me know that they would not be able to accommodate and I would have to check in at the regular time 4 PM. This was fine. At 3:50 p.m. I arrived at the hotel and went into the front lobby and spoke with the representative. I spoke with on the phone. She told me I would have to wait 10 more minutes to check in. I let her know that’s fine. I wanted to make sure everything was good to go before I went and grabbed my kids and luggage out of the car. She said we will see you at 4 PM. I came back in with the kids and my luggage to check in at 4 PM in which she told me then the room was not ready and they were still working on it. I was very frustrated at this point because I hadn’t slept in 24 hours and my kids were very tired. I waited another 40 minutes before I went up to the front desk again, and spoke with Ava, the other front desk agent in which she told me my room was still not ready however she would be able to look and see if they can move me to a different room. She was able to find a different room and gave me keys and I went on my way. Upon arriving in the room, the bedding was still wet however, I was just happy to have somewhere to lay this was a stressful experience on top of my already stressful day, and I was not satisfied with the outcome.

The room was well worn, and it was missing the armchair when I arrived. I asked them to bring one and over resistance. The handyman did bring one. It was stained, but at least it was a chair. I covered it with my towel in hand towel. My room was very noisy being right by the back door that people went out to smoke. I asked the move and even though the hotel parking lot was about 10% full. They said the hotel was full and would not move me. All in all, I will never go back.

Toilet was extremely slow to fill. Wrong keys and wrong room assigned upon arrival. Keys needed to be reactivated more than once. Breakfast buffet was sub-par. Hot food was COLD. Limited selection for $$ pre paid price. Would have preferred more towels. Vending machines weren’t working properly.

CON: This hotel is older, and while it looked like they had attempted to update it, I was less than impressed and did not feel this was Holiday Inn quality. We had to go to the front desk and ask if they could replace the computer chair, which was so worn out, it leaned and had no padding. The replacement was only minimally better. The room had debris that had fallen from the ceiling on the computer table and the credenza where the TV sat. (3 stars) While the room had been cleaned, the chemical smell was overpowering and lingered. The bathroom was very outdated. The mirror had a frame with what looked like contact paper covering it--and poorly at that. I picked this location, and the side of the highway due to the food locations, and that they offered a shuttle service to the airport. What we discovered was that it is very limited, and we had to leave at 10:30 and spend 3 hours at the airport to be able to use that service--another couple was going to be waiting at the airport for nearly 6 hours. That is unacceptable. If you are offering a free airport shuttle, it needs to be more user-friendly. (2 stars) I would not stay here again--nor recommend it to others.

Waited an hour in the lobby at midnight to check in but never could because the computers were down. 1 person in the whole hotel working.

Wanted to give a shout out to Lyric. We arrived from our cruise ship and were very early for check-in. I asked if an early check-in was possible. She was able to get us in right away which was nice since we had no place to go as our flight wasn't until the next morning. The afternoon clerk ( I think Pam?) was very friendly and helpful. The next morning, I slipped and fell on water someone had spilled on the tile floor. I advised him he may want to have it mopped up. He was so apologetic and more than willing to help me with ice, Advil or whatever I needed. Very impressed with the customer service interaction I had with these three employees. Very clean premises. We left too early to enjoy the complimentary breakfast. I was also impressed with the two large ice water containers and cups for guests in the lobby. Keep it up!

This was the first Holiday Inn Express that did not provide complimentary breakfast which was disappointing. Also- the room was not as fresh and clean. One room was musty, and the other held a slight urine smell. The rooms were outdated.

Had an issues with my key card and door, had to insert it like 8-10 times for it to open. And the breakfast prices are extremely too high, I just went to Cracker Barrel and got more for less. Other than that, I had a wonderful stay. And I will be back.

The room was fine, but the staff was exceptional! Very courteous. Sean was very friendly and made our short ride to airport enjoyable. Then i realized I forgot my meds in the refrigerator and a call to the hotel and Sean, the shuttle driver was very nice and briught them to the airport for me.

The only thing that bothered me was finding two spiders and a type of flying bug inside the room in different areas of the room. It could have been worse, but just wasn’t expecting that.

It was late when we checked in and the room was clean and quiet... until my brother started snoring. We needed the shuttle at 4:00 am, but totally understandable that it doesn't run all night. The pool looked very inviting but we didn't have time to indulge. I would stay again!

Teams of little league were staying there and they put us in a room overlooking the pool which was really noisy And the pool desperately needed to be cleaned. Lots of bugs in the water. Hot tub wasn’t working Getting a towel for the pool took almost an hour Hopefully, it will improve once construction is done, but not worth the price now

It was an awful experience. The room appeared nice enough, but the air was damp, the floor was damp, the sheets were damp, the pillows were damp, and before the night was out, the clothes in my suitcase were damp. Under these conditions, I might have gotten two hours of sleep.pure misery!

We had issues with the bathroom sink not draining, we reported it, but it never got looked at it. Had to brush our teeth in the bathtub. The door handle going into our room fell off. The curtain in our room wasn’t big enough to cover the whole window, so light was always coming in at night. And the shower head needs to be replaced.

Wasn't great, took over 40 minutes to get into our room due to not having towels. We were allowed to get into our room under the impression that towels would be delivered at a later time, but when entering the room there were towels there. Unfortunately the room was only half finished as bags were not replaced for the garbage bins.

Even though we arrived very early around 10am and we were just looking to see if we could drop off our luggage they were able to get us checked into our room early at no extra charge. I feel bad because I don't remember his name but Bella was his beautiful 4 legged companion. This is a pet friendly establishment and be prepaired to see so many adorable fur baby travelers. The breakfast served in the morning is very good and very reasonable in price. The on-site bar and restaurant had some of the friendliest staff you ever wanted to meet and the food was very good and also very reasonably price especially for the very large portions that you get. TIP: GET THE WINGS. I love anything to do with aviation and being next to the airport watching my old A10 warthogs going over head sometimes in formation other times breaking of one at a time was one in a life time experience, but if your not into that just a reminder you are next to an airport and will hear the aircraft during take off and landing. (Not enough to wake you up if you're a late sleeper) but you will occasionally hear them. I will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Very clean with pleasant staff. My handicapped room had a bathtub with handrails that was not within my limited physical abilities so no shower. Only one night so not too bad, but best to confirm handicap shower directly with the hotel when booking.

We booked the hotel so we could celebrate a anniversary and not have to drive far to get home after a night of celebrating with friends. Check in went easy. Go up to the room and it wasnt even turned over. Poor clerk at the desk switched rooms for us quickly thank god. Asked about if a manager would be there in the morning and was told they dont have one on weekends. For what I paid and the other two holiday inns ive stayed at. This was the worst would not recommend

The only concern that was not resolved during our stay was the airconditioner. It was hot and humid throughout the night. The unit is very dated. We notified facilities, they couldn't fix the issue. However a additional floor fan was provided. I would not stay at this location in the future. We did not sleep, and had to catch a early flight.

The $16 breakfast has limited selections. Apple is the only fruit. No yogurt. Only one type of small pastry. Bread is not attractive. The main good thing is scrambled egg and bacon.

As a reward member my incidental fee hold was cheaper. They let us check in early. Had more than one elevator. Don’t get a room near the elevator, noise from the people getting off the floor and near the kitchen for deliveries.

The carpet outside my room on the 3rd floor was missing with on debris and carpet remnants present. The road noise was bad nearly all night and the desk chair in the room was short and uncomfortable even when extended fully. Not a very good impression especially considering the rate surcharge for the Gran Prix weekend.

We travel weekly for our travel softball team. This is by far the WORST hotel stay I have ever had. Our door lock did not work, it was "replaced" however keys have to constantly be replaced. We get to our room late at night after a long day at the ball field and have to go back downstairs to the front desk. The breezeway smell of a strong stench of marijuana. Our room was never "cleaned" interior the four days we were there. We did not have enough towels. The hotel forced me to transfer funds and would not take my business credit card because my personal name was not on it (old card) and I was told it was "policy". To make matters worse, we heard constant horror stories from other families who were also staying there about how dirty rooms were, including with feces and mold. The hotel was fully booked so we could not get another room. When management was finally available (she was out for two days), she informed us how sorry she was but argued that she could not give us a refund because Hotels.com has my money.

Our check in was great, I think her name was Judy. She got us into our room early. Upon entering our room, there was “restore air” machine running in the middle of the room. I went to the front desk and told her and she called maintenance and had it removed immediately. Once we got unpacked and went into the bathroom, we found out why the machine was there. The bathroom smelled of raw sewage. We turned the exhaust fan on and shut the door. Every time we needed to use the bathroom, we just took a big breath and went in. Then the toilet wouldn’t stop running so making multiple trips into the bathroom to jiggle the handle was not ideal.because of the smell. We should have just requested a new room but we were tired and had hoped it would get better, which it didn’t. We finally cut our losses and got up and left at 3:45am

Quick overnight stay very close to airport. Check-in was fast. Room was quiet with comfortable beds & linens. Facilities are dated, but clean.

Check in was fast and efficient. Clerk was friendly. The only issue we had was the heater did not work and the room was cold. They did offer to move us..but i was already in bed and didnt want to pack up and move.

Excellent customer service, and the restaurant downstairs was very good. They do have a shuttle service, but it wasn't operating when I needed it, but the Uber pickup was extremely quick. Will stay here next time I'm in Clearwater, FL!

There was no shutttle. The room Smelled musty. Front desk friendly and helpful.

Front desk is awesome BUT the toilets are very slow to flush. We were told all pf them were like that. We did see an ant or two but the front desk took care of the problem very quickly.

This hotel is close to PIE airport I had an early morning flight to catch it worked out great. Lot of food option around the property. Staff had a wake up call for me and also the airport shuttle but I had a rental car to drop

The stay was good overall for the price .The property is a bit older and could def use a facelift. The elevator is especially sketchy and makes a noise when you are in it. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

Hotel was in middle of remodeling. Updates were needed. Breakfast was not worth the money I had to pay.

We thought the hotel was very average but paid a high amount due to it being the weekend after Christmas. But the hotel is under renovations so we were surprised we paid as much as we did. It had one functioning elevator and multiple guests were complaining.
