One of 2 elevators not working, creating a line and long wait all weekend. Ended up having to use stairs multiple times to go up 4 flights. Shower dirty and low water pressure, lukewarm water. Sounded like a race track all night long right next to busy highway. Access from certain roads difficult. Basically an average budget hotel if you are looking to stay somewhere cheap. Dont expect much.

Though the hotel was going through some renovations and one of the elevators was out of order, it did not interfere with our stay. Breakfast room was very clean and food choices were very good. The hotel was easily accessible by car to the beach or shopping areas.

I complained that the shower water smelled like mildew. It was my wife's birthday, and she was upset by the experience; I will not return to this hotel or this chain.

Amazing and tasty breakfast.

Five stars! The entire staff was incredibly accommodating, and the amenities were excellent. We were especially impressed by Jake at the front desk, who was informative, welcoming, and a joy to interact with. Highly recommend staying here.

The hotel overall was amazingly clean. In fact, spotless, staff was excellent. Breakfast was very good every day parking at all depends on what time you get back and have booked. They are other than that safe place. Great stay would definitely come back again without a doubt.

Even though it was a short stay the gentleman that checked us in was very polite and helpful. Room was clean and parking was easy.

The staff was absolutely amazing and very accommodating! They gave us entry gifts and accommodated anything that we needed. The a/c was not working properly, creating a very damp cold air environment. The coffee was absolutely freaking terrible. The room was so bad that we left a day early and wound up losing a days worth of paying for the room because of it being so uncomfortable.

I have stayed here before and seen a gradual decline - I am sad because I liked it so much when we started staying there

Clean facility

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast had a lot to offer. The cost was reasonable. It was quiet even though it was right along the road. The shower...there was no hot water! At best, it was luke warm. I didn't call to complain because we were only staying for a couple of nights so I just sucked it up and took really fast showers.

Disappointed in this hotel. I usually use this brand but Florida was lacking. Out of lots of items on the breakfast buffet. Our rack to hang items fell off the wall. Bathroom was less than ok. Location was ok for our use. Appears to be remodeling and construction including the entry to pool.

Very convenient for catching an early morning flight.

Staff was friendly, breakfast was good. Room was a good size. No carpet was nice. The wall outlets were falling out the wall. Floors were not moped in the room but was nice for them to not be carpet. The outlets by the tv and bed for the usb did not work and the regular outlets wouldn’t keep the charger part from falling out.

I stayed at this property during the Valspar event and had a 10 day stay. After a 6am flight from NY, I was hoping for an early check in, but was denied and told to come back at 4pm. Okay. Understandable. I came back at 4:30 and was told that there was construction going on and that they would move my room to a quieter area for my comfort. I don't know what my original room was, but the room that I was moved to had construction directly above it. People doing flooring; all sorts of banging throughout the day (which ended around 6pm each day.) I asked if there were any other rooms available and was told that another room would be available later that day (day 3) and they would call me. They never called. The elevators didn't work. The tile in the lobby was being redone and there were bizarrely roped off areas each day causing people to have to walk in/out of opposite entrances/exits. A three day tile job lasted the length of my stay and, at that pace, looked to have another week or two left. The room itself was fine. For $400+/night.... I'll be going elsewhere on my next visit to the area.

Placed in a room with two joining doors, one of each side. One door could be locked from our room and the other could not. Requested a room with no joining door unless it could be locked from inside our room. Took an hour to get another room.

Great staff, check in was smooth. Jake was very personable. Requested more towels and was immediately provided. The room was remodeled although bathroom tub had rust stains and the bathroom fan was extremely loud. Beds were clean and comfortable although one of them was very squeaky. Location of the hotel is convenient but be aware that some rooms facing the road/highway can get loud with the car traffic below. Also they were still working on the remodel of certain parts of the hotel so just be prepared to see an occasional construction area although there was no real noise disturbances from that and also they were all done by the time we returned to the hotel for the night. Breakfast was served daily, with pretty good choices for the 4 of us including two kids (kids wished there were more fruit choices provided). Overall it was a good stay for the price, location, and amenities.

They are in the process of updating this hotel, so it will be very nice very soon. Unfortunately, we were given a room not yet done. It was dark and worn, the refrigerator was leaking on the floor, and the bathroom needed repairs. It was in a nice location and the parking lot did feel safe. Many good food options nearby as well.

The room size and parking. The breakfast area needs improvement. It was worse than a hostel, too small and lacking enough tables, which led to guests competing for seating. Some people had to eat on sofas in the reception area while construction was taking place. Additionally, renovations were ongoing even on Sundays, which further impacted the experience.

It just seemed really dirty from the floors upon entering the hotel , the elevator had trash and all types of debris in it . The room had stains everywhere and in the bathroom it had major stains as well as what I think was heavy rust stains on and in the shower and on the bathroom door . In all of my travels I haven’t stayed at a hotel in a long time that still has the bouncy springs bed like this one has . The 4th floor smelled of marijuana . Upon checking out I went to the front desk and was not greeted but had a staring contest with the receptionist and finally I said hi I’m checking out and he said ok and another staring contest happened until I finally gave my room # and gave my room keys and just left .

Our first room was absolutely disgusting! We killed 6 cockroaches, had two zyn pouches stuck to our ceiling, and the bathroom was filthy. I had two encounters with staff that certainly should be addressed by management. Very unprofessional!

Bathroom has stain not clean at all

Having a free breakfast is always good. But in all honesty I would have to say the only thing I did like was the pillows definitely some good pillows. Wow, yeah so let me start by saying it was TERRIBLE. When I walked in to check in I was told they are under construction doing renovations the room I initially booked for 4 nights wasn’t available due to this. I was told I would be on the 4th floor with no working elevator so they stairs it was for 2 days and boyyyy let me tell ya it was rough. The pool was dirty and there wasn’t no clean swimming towels at all. The breakfast wasn’t the best either and my blueberry muffin had hair all over it.

renovations were going on, something we should have been told before we booked. to get a quiet room we could only take the elevator to the 4th floor and then had to climb 10 stairs. there were not enough tables available for breakfast and the elevator was always full. would I stay there again? Clean rooms, Calm and quiet.

Hotel was open during renovations. We were not aware ahead of time or we would not have booked. We had to put up with noise, paint smell and wet walls, plaster and tile dust, disruptions of walkways and construction dirt in elevators and common areas. We are longtime IHG members. We were not greeted as such and our specs when booking (higher floor extra pillows) was not even acknowledged. We were given a room on the first floor steps away from the outside door where contractors were going in and out. The room itself had a bathroom with rust in tub and on walls and dirt closet trim. The 2nd night we entered room to find a gecko running around the ceiling, We called the desk and Jake came and tried to capture it but instead in ran under the bed! We would not stay and sleep with it running around. Jake was the best. He moved us to a 4th floor room and got a rollaway for our grandson bc that room only had one bed. The breakfast area had the new coffee system. People who did not know how to use it, spill coffee all over and it stayed there not cleaned up for quite a while. Tables were sticky and not wiped. Aside from the stellar attention given to us by Jake during his shift, stay was very disappointing! Despite leaving a tip for housekeeping and not being pigs we had to seek out and ask for our room to be done. I believe this hotel needs organizing and management as staff was gathered in empty room while we were searching for towels and to get room done. Not 1st stay,but last!

Not interested in business or gym

We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely! The desk clerk, Jake, was amazing. Breakfast each morning was very good. We did not use the pool or gym. There was construction going on but they kept everything pretty clean and organized.

The breakfast was good, with a lot of choices. The food was good, and the coffee was also good. The staff members were very pleasant throughout the hotel, and tried to be helpful. We stayed seven nights, March 2-9. The first three were in a room that really shouldn't have even been offered to a guest in the shape it was in. It was room 339. It definitely looked beat, (some paint chipping and didn't feel clean). There was no transition molding from the foyer area to the bedroom area, so you could easily stub your toe. There was no room darkening shade on the window, it was totally missing! So you were greeted with bright morning light at about 5;00am onward. The shower head in the tub was pathetically insufficient. On the shower head setting, it was very weak, and there was no way it would rinse the shampoo from your hair. On the third night, the room above us had their toilet overflow, and this leaked down through the ceiling into our bathroom. When I went to use the bathroom at midnight there was a large puddle in our bathroom. I wasn't able to call down to the front desk and report this, because there was no phone in our room!! So, I had to put on some clothes and go down to the front desk and report this. At the front desk they gave me several towels, to mop up the puddle in the bathroom. They said there was no other room to move to, until the next day. They suggested that we check in with the front desk the next day if we wanted to change rooms. ...... The next morning, after breakfast we checked with the front desk and took up their offer to switch rooms. We were given room 422. This proved to be a much better room. It had the transition molding from the foyer to the bedroom area. It had a room darkening shade on the window. There was also a telephone. The shower head in the tub provided adequate pressure at any of the three settings. The only drawback to the second room, was that the curved curtain rod was bent downward, causing the curtain to slide to the middle while showering, exposing a foot on either end, which caused the floor to get wet. ........ The hotel pictures showed a laundry that could be used.

Coffee was excellent. Breakfast was okay. They had a good healthy egg white omelette which was very tasty but could have had more veggies in them. Front desk staff were very helpful. One kitchen staff person was very rude. He was irritated by any question. I could not find butter which was placed behind another dish and he answered in an angry way. I still had to look where he pointed. There was construction going on but the rooms were very dated. The shower was barely warm. I will never stay here again.

There was construction going on, I was not warned about this before hand. The bath tubs had rust and dirt in them, the staff at check-in were not willing to store our luggage even though I called the day before and the woman on the phone said that they would hold my luggage. There was constant construction in the lobby, portions of the lobby had no floors.

The bed was very UNcomfortable, I felt as though I was sleeping on a camping cot. Room had musty scent to it, water faucet in bathroom was spraying rather than normally flowing.

Very impressive remodeling and updates and jake.Who checked me in was super great. I did, however, have housekeeping knocking on my door at 9 AM on a Sunday. And I don't think they should do that. This is not the first hotel that has done that.I think when people check into a hotel and check out.Time is eleven.No one should be knocking on my door.

The a/c in our room would either freeze you or makes you sweat . No in between . And we kept on. 72F. The place is convenient. Many stores and restaurants around. But overall i do not recommend.

Our room did not feel ventilated and had a musty smell (likely because the windows were sealed shut and the only air circulation came from the AC). The bathroom did not feel clean, the tub was rusted, and the bed had stains, so we used our own covers before sleeping. Breakfast was okay, but the options were the same for all three days we stayed.

On the contrary, the facility seems clean and the room we had was spacious, clean, and perfect for our needs. We hadn’t had time to check out the pool area and our kids were beyond ready for naps by the time we got there and we chose to not take a late night dip.

The tap water was dirty at first, and there was no hot water. Even after I complained, they said it would take 10 minutes, but the shower still never had hot water.

Location is very convenient. Smell of the room was horrible. We got there late and they do not have the room left. The whole family got headaches next morning. I wish we chose a different hotel.

Went with my husband and 2 boys (9,11). Stayed in the connected rooms, beds so comfy, great light, clean and good water pressure. So quiet even to take a nap. Breakfast excellent, lots of different options. Walking distance to restaurants even a chick-fila. Maybe the AC unit can be loud at times but the room was so cold we didn’t need it running at night so all good. Well be back here for sure.

We were quite please and satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Everything is nice and clean. The staff is pretty friendly and the breakfast is good as well. Just a few miles to Clearwater Beach and Downtown St. Petersburg.

Continental breakfast was solid. Shower never got hot, lack of towels, room phone didn’t work and an outlet didn’t work. Staff was very friendly. Location and parking were convenient.

Just an awesome hotel

The key cards constantly had to be re programmed, but the staff was very kind and helped us with that. The breakfast was really good and the room, though the ceiling looked like it had some water damage, it was very clean and tidy. Our room was by the main highway, so it was pretty noisy late at night and in the morning. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would come back

Nearly everything in the room was broken: the ice machine didn’t work, the window shades were stuck, the hotel phone was completely non-functional, and there were stains everywhere — on the carpet, on the furniture, even on the walls. The room just felt dirty and neglected. To top it all off, the power went out on the morning we were checking out. No lights, no working elevators. We had to carry all of our bags and our child down multiple flights of stairs in the dark. Not a single staff member offered to help — no apology, no assistance, nothing. This place is not safe, not clean, and certainly not family-friendly. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. We won’t be coming back.

Bathtub shower was disgusting; should have been repaired or replaced years ago. Also, the in room coffee machine didn’t work which really didn’t matter since the room wasn’t stocked with any coffee cups. Finally, the body wash dispenser in the shower didn’t work. I pointed out all these issues to the front desk clerk who apologized but offered nothing tangible in the form of compensation for the substandard condition of my room.

The staff that checked us in was very personable and professional. I loved to 24hour coffee and continental breakfast. What surprised me was all the pillows on the bed made it extremely comfortable and feeling like home.

Sadly our bathtub was full of hair and got over flooded, having signs of fungus as well as the sink… still we brought all this to their attention and they were FAST to fix all issues! Also staff was always very NICE and GREETING us all the time! BREAKFAST was very good!

A/C leaked in the “new “ part and toilet got stopped up. I reported it and was moved to another room pretty quickly.

The buffet breakfast had tons of options, with hot food that actually tasted great, and the coffee/tea station was available all day, which we loved. The room came stocked with a generous amount of Dove toiletries—shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion—way more than most places provide. We truly felt taken care of here, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Holiday inn Express, you’ve set the bar high!

We stayed one night. It seemed fine at first glance, then when we went to use shower we thought it was dirty but actually it was rusty on the bottom and sides. I brought this to the attention of the person at the desk and her first response was “sorry but you booked through a third party so there’s nothing we can do for you”. Then we went to use the safe that is in the room and it did not work. When we went to go forfor breakfast and to check out the next morning all of the elevators were out of order. We did enjoy the breakfast, it was good.

The smoke alarm went off and the fire department arrived said it was a malfunction second the elevator was broke I had to go down 4 flights of stairs

Now,I naotice that the exercise room still has issues. The treadmill is still broken and the weights are too heavy for most women. A five pound option would be nice

From the minute we walked in it Smelled very bad of mold to the point my daughters lungs were bothering her. Could not stay there. They would not refund our money.

Room was pretty good, mold in caulk seals. Clean updated lobby and room. Location on easy to access roads was good. Pool area is sketchy to get to and not a highlight of this hotel. The 3am fire alarm was false and very inconvenient.

When i checked in there was just the nicest lady there and she helped me find a quicker way to the conference I was attending. Everyone was so nice and accommodating !

It was an enjoyable stay. Our room was serviced regularly and quickly. Breakfast was enjoyable for all 4 of us.

The only weird thing that happened was with one woman at the front desk. Someone was checking in so I got in line behind her. I was soon joined by another woman who lined up behind me, then a man came in with luggage and got in line behind her. A woman came out from the room behind the front desks, walked by me and the other woman in line, and went directly to the man and asked if she could help him. The other woman and I were totally confused and the man directed her to help us since we were in line ahead of him. The three of us were so confused as to why she bypassed two woman and went towards the man. There was no way to mistake that we were all in line. It was just weird. And then she acted weird and I only bought the snacks I was holding and didn't bother asking the other question I had. Tbh, she seemed a little off, like maybe high? I don't know. LOL Luckily it was my only encounter with her and the rest of the staff was very nice and helpful. We would stay there again.

The staff was great. It appears they want to serve the customers and enjoy their work. The room and facility appeared clean. Breakfast was what is usually served at a motel. Our room was next to Hwy 19, but, did not hear much noise from the hwy.

It was a little noisy from traffic

The shower and bath had blood in it when we arrived… a bit of rust stained in the bottom of the bathtub has a stench in the hotel room not sure what it was a bit musty and wet smell. Water pressure isn’t the best in the shower and towels had stains on them as well.

Great location for Spring Training trip. Staff was great.

The hotel staff, lady at the front, not helpful at all. We were in before our room would be ready which we knew. I waited about 4hours to get an update and when I chose to go check she told me a room would not be available any time soon, it was 2pm. I said what does that mean, not for our check-in time and she said no. I asked her to recheck that as we paid for that check-in time and out of nowhere she had a room within a minute. I felt she lied to me and it was super unprofessional. Lack of space for downstairs to eat. You are local to BayCare, you need more space for people to eat. The rooms don't allow much room to eat with a family of 4 and 1 chair.

Visiting for a concert nearby. Comfortable bed, safe and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

My stay was a positive experience. Nicest Holiday Inn Express I've ever stayed.

We had a wonderful stay. The gentleman at the front desk, David was wonderful. I called a few days before our stay to ask several questions and he was able to answer them all. When we were getting off the phone, he said, "See you for breakfast later this week!" He was just as nice in person.

Staff met all expectations. Room was suitable for our needs.
