I absolutely love staying here!!! The rooms are always super clean with ice cold a/c and a nice comfortable king bed!!! The staff is great, they are always so helpful. The pool area looks amazing!! I will definitely be back again soon!! ✌️❤️🙂

This place has all the potential to be awesome, but the lack of amenities was underwhelming. One microwave in the whole building? Unable to connect to the internet properly. Forced to use the local network, which caused my computer to prompt a message stating “Your monitor is being observed.” Couldn’t log on to watch a proper channel. All in all, I would not recommend this place to anyone. On a better note, the front desk and housekeeping staff were amazing.

Actually a great experience

The hotel is undergoing construction however it was very quiet and all the common areas were clean. The parking was convenient. One morning I left early in the morning and one of the housekeepers asked if I wanted my room cleaned. I said yes but when I came back the room had not been cleaned, and no one cleaned the room the remainder of the stay, just something to keep in mind. I also was not a fan of how dim the room lighting was fo someone like me with poor eyesight it was a struggle. Overall not a horrible stay because it's close to the highway. There are also a lot of activities and food options nearby.

It was not disclosed the fact that the property was under construction. They gave me the wrong room and had to wake up another man when trying the key just for their miss.

Great place. Newly renovated. I stayed for a few weeks. Very affordable when I booked as newly renovated and about a week in ... the clientelle got a bit questionable but no issues. Internet is great, pool ks great, new clean minimal rooms. I didnt want to leave

Don’t be put off by the outside of this location. It is a hidden gem on the inside. Newly renovated rooms. Beds are very comfortable very spacious rooms. Large tvs. Great AC. My only one grip no microwave in the rooms. There is one microwave in the lobby. Otherwise this place is amazing and for the low cost it definitely can not be beaten.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. All in all i would definitely recommend this establishment.

There is no desk in the room

Try to check in it was no one at the front desk for almost 2 hours. It was a fight on the third floor. People was checking out person at the front door was nowhere to be found at work at the front office in the building was locked. I had to get in by another customer to open up the door for me.

The location No chairs in the room, no privacy tint on windows so I had to keep the shade closed. No phone in the room. Housekeeping didn’t pay attention to the DND light and knocked on the door which woke me up. No continental breakfast or anywhere to get snacks. No ice machine on the third floor and the other two machines were not working.

It is currently under renovation but it is nice! Parking is limited right now. Only small narrow entrance doors on side of building. No gym right now. But pool is great! Cute new rooms. No couch, just bed is their style. No coffee in room but is until 11am in lobby. Nice place.

The staff was very unhelpful. They were out of towels and washcloth. I stayed there for numerous days and I was only allotted one washcloth for me and my partner and then asked for more. They said they didn’t have any no trash bags no ice all three floors there’s no ice in the middle of summer very hot. There was one microwave for the whole entire building. I kept sneezing do you understand why and then I looked in the air conditioner and this is what I found so much dust haven’t cleaned in like a year there was one coffee that was only brewed once a day no breakfast like it’s shown on the app. Nothing like that whatsoever you were allowed Coffee and the vending machines had hot drinks and are so ridiculously expensive. Can’t even get drinks out of there when you do they’re very unsatisfied definitely definitely want my money back or at least a refund or some sort of compensation for False advertisement at it’s finest! I would like a phone call or a staff member. I’ve already spoke to all the staff I really like someone from speedy.com too please contact me. I want a refund early partial refund.

Everything was great! Excellent and fast service. The hallways, elevator, pool, rooms, and free parking were all wonderful. The TV was big, the AC worked perfectly, and the bathtub had great hot water. Everything was beautiful, modern, and super pleasant. I recommend it 100% and would gladly stay here again!

The ice machine wasn't working. I went to the third floor but there wasn't one.

Our stay at the Palm for the short stay was ideal. The hotel was under construction so the pool and garden area were not accessible. The elevator needed some servicing, getting stock sometimes. But for a small hotel the stairs were easy to take. And its understandable while under construction. It appeared that they were short on staff. The room was plain, the bare minimal but for the fee not bad as everything was new and more European style furniture. I liked the cleanliness of the room and bathroom.

The prices were great! Ron’s were wonderful and the staff is out of this world!! Everything was perfect except u gotta add this one thing… breakfast!!! Of no wait I got a better one, please put microwave in the room. That’s the only bad thing is the only a micro wave in the lobby a real little one and everything I heated up was cold by the time I got to The room. That is so necessary!! and why can we not pay by the month the cost was perfect for us good people that had to move . That was home to many. There were only like 10 families staying all month why couldn’t em they move upstairs and have one whh by low fooor towards the prisoners to reenter life and be better . It suck’s that any isn’t there anymore and it is a shame so many of those people that lives there the last two yrs and the. No have no home and wander the steeets or sleep in their cars parked at the planet fitness waiting to get a shower for a 1$im not complaining about the rooms or the awesome people that run the place and all the workers are just awesome and oh the other thing wa the deposit needed again from me after I extended the smroim and had to pay a second deposit. That’s silly and hard on some oeoooe pockets. It took 5 days from right downtown fr myers a

I was told to put a $100 deposit for the room which I know usually is normal for most places but I still have yet to receive my deposit after. It’s been 2 weeks and I just have to call my credit card and dispute because apparently they kept my $100 instead of releasing it back to my card. Place was nice but I need my $ back…

Pool was fabulous! Close to airport. Great for an overnight stay. Ice machines were broken. Property was being renovated and locals said it’s been like that for over two years. “Smoke-free” property smelled like pot outside of our room.

The room was very clean and very nice coming in. The room was already nice and cool and when I adjust the AC it did get cooler as well. I like the Roku TVs on guest mode so you don't have to worry about once you leave anybody using something if you accidentally log out. Both front desk people I encountered were both really kind and it was a breeze to check in and out. Definitely would stay again

It’s under construction which is why it’s so cheap, but it’s beautiful! Only complaint was the ac really wasn’t good and it was kind of hot in the room.

Recently renovated hotel that is still undergoing renovations. Room looked modern and was comfortable. Location was good and close to major roads to travel to any place we wanted to go.

Nothing The room was never cleaned, bed was bad, bugs in the shower then went in the room, was told it was going to be taken care of never was. Water didn't run right anywhere. I can keep going as sheets were terribly old and half were stained and other half weren't. Floor was dusty and room was smelly and smelled like smoke. Can't believe this had to be paid for as they they said it would be taken care of and never was.

Under renovation, small hotel but safe area. Only 20 mins from Raymond James stadium and downtown area over the bridge. Check in was easy and friendly staff. Our new room was great. Modern design with simple lines, plus great features like wood floor, floor-to-ceiling blinds for windows that overlook pool (still under construction), bathroom makeup mirror etc. Local Publix supermarket 5 mins away. Beautiful free botanical gardens 20 mins away. This was an overnight for concert but I definitely recommend hotel and coming back to explore Clearwater some more. 💜

It was near all major restaurants and gas stations at walking distance and the pool was clean ! I didn’t like that they falsely advertised there were free breakfast,laundry rooms at the hotel ,and a business center at the hotel and microwave in the hotel rooms !! The tv/ internet and cable connection wasn’t working without maintenance coming here and there to fix it! The tall African-American young lady at the front desk with the glasses was very unpleasant to deal with she was very rude to me and other guests every time they asked for help or asked for towels, even the other front lady at the desk, had to tell her to pipe town with her attitude, and that she couldn’t talk to guess the way she was doing! I stayed here three nights and on my last day I found wine bottles smashed around my tires and trash around my car!

Also, no working ice machines, they were both broken. Besides that it’s a quiet place to stay very close to the airports and about 35 min away from Clearwater beach. Also, plenty of restaurants in the area to eat.

The property was under renovations and its appearance was horrible. The rooms were renovated but not good use of space. The bathroom sink was interesting, it was tiny and water faucet was oversized consequently water spilling out. The room floors were dirty, you can tell they had not been mopped in a long time. The pool was not in use due to renovations but when it did open the water was not clean. It seems people live at this property and there were strange characters hanging out in the parking lot. Overall, I would not stay at this property a second time.

It’s completely remodeled, so it was clean, modern and really nice. The one thing this property has that others done, is the 60 inch Roku Tv setup. U can log into your apps and watch all your shows and never miss a beat.

The water was barely hot. You couldn’t contact no one because the line was always busy and when u go to speak with front desk no one was ever there.

While the bedding was definitely higher quality, my neck and back are very sensitive (hard to be comfortable anywhere) it wasn't the best night sleep for me personally. I hate saying that because I'm sure most would find it luxurious especially for the money.

Place was under construction. Its going to be really beautiful when done. The pool area was being retiled and torn up. The rooms were new and modern. But the attention to finishing details was questionable. For instance the toilet seat was not screwed down. There was no microwave, phone, iron, or sitting chair in the room. The TV did not work. We could not check any of the cables cause it was built into a wall. We did get the front desk person to fix it. Was super quiet and very clean. Id stay there again in about 8 months when its completed.

The construction and that my room did not have a microwave in my room so I had to get out of my room and walk to the lobby to heat my food up and the microwave wasn't that good it took along time to heat up and had to wait because other people was using it too.

The staff was extremely friendly I only checked out but the woman at the front was very helpful very nice obviously enjoyed what she was doing the room was extremely clean beautifully clean under lit they don't have enough lighting in the main area the television did not work was not hooked up outdoor pool there under construction so they were still working around there the air conditioning worked extremely well overall it was a very nice experience I did not like the $100 deposit that they required security deposit but they did refund it I had it by the next morning so not a problem overall I'd stay there again as long as it remains affordable

They where renovating, no pool access

I loved the hotel so much. It was being renovated as I was there but the worker's barely made any noise. I'm a light sleeper and never woke due to loud noise. The rooms were beautiful and modern! Chic and clean! It also smelled really good in there. lol Due to renovations, the pool was closed unfortunately but when everything is complete, I guarantee its going to be gorgeous!

The hotel is still being built which was never mentioned on the website! The pool was closed because they are still making the pavings around it and there is no coffeemaker or microwave in the room!!!

They're having the hotel refurbished the hotel is nice too bad there's not a balcony the big large window in the room looks over courtyard area and the pool.the pool is having new pavers put in so the pool was down that was a bummer

So this place has somewhat new charm they are renovating so it does and will get loud depending where you are in building, but I believe when it gets complete it will be fantastic.

The hotel rooms were definitely the highlight. You can tell they were recently remodeled. And they are very modern. The hotel is UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I saw some bad reviews that were put off by it. The hotel is being rented at discounted rates because of this (from what I could tell). The pool is also being remodeled. I had to dock it because there are no other creature comforts you usually get with a hotel. No laundry, ice machine I tried didn’t work. No gym, etc. I’m sure they will hey there.

The property was clean, but the construction on the hotel was a lot to deal with. It was crowded with the construction and all.

The hotel is under construction so pool closed for remodeling. The rooms are beautiful in side. Beds are comfortable, and they have 46in tvs that are roku ready. Price was great. After construction i would stay again

They're doing renovations and construction. The pool was off limits but it looks promising once it's done. The room was clean and updated. New furnishings. It was clean. The room that I was in, I wished it had a tableand chairvif you wanna do remote work. I guess they're still updating so looking forward to when it is done. Friendly staff!

We chose the hotel based on the pictures on Expedia. We were greatly disappointed that aside from the room, which was comfortable, there was construction all over the place. The pool area was closed and no seating in the lobby. None of this was mentioned in the Expedia advertisement. We were greatly disappointed. We flew down from New Jersey to enjoy the advertised amenities.

Este hotel convirtió mis vacaciones en un infierno, al llegar al hotel notamos que estaba en construcción detalle que nunca aclararon al momento de hacer la reserva, la piscina estaba fuera de servicio, una de las razones por lo que reservé en este hotel y no pude utilizar, el ascensor fuera de servicio, la habitación súper pequeña, la construcción comenzaba a las 7am, me acerco al counter de servicio al cliente y les indico que deseaba silencio para poder dormir y la empleada con tono arrogante me indica que estaban en construcción y tenía que aguantar el ruido, le indico que yo pagué para descansar, que estaba de vacaciones y ella me indica que me tenía que aguantar que estaban en construcción, el ruido comenzaba a las 7am hasta las 7pm fueron los días más horribles de mi vida, eran mis vacaciones y las convirtieron en una pesadilla, mi hijo y yo no podíamos descansar hasta tarde ya que el ruido era insoportable, la persona de limpieza nunca repuso los efectos personales como shampoo oh acondicionador, la puerta de mi habitación hubo una ocasión que la dejaron abierta y al llegar entré en pánico, lo notifiqué en el counter y la empleada se molestó, los empleados de servicio al clientes son malcriados y arrogantes, no recomiendo este hotel a nadie, arruinaran sus vacaciones…

Hotel, as noted, is partially under renovation. This includes the pool area, which was not accessible during our stay, nor required by us, just an FYI. Room was newly remodeled with a very minimalistic theme. Currently no chair/table, microwave, coffee pot, etc in the room. No place, other than the bed, to open your suitcase. While our room was clean, we found it difficult to obtain a comfortable temperature as our room faced South/West and had floor to ceiling windows with the blinds open upon arrival. Sleeping was somewhat difficult due to a parking lot light directly outside our room. The blinds could not keep this light out. We had concerns about being too close to the airport, for noise, but never heard any airplane noise, although that could have been due to the AC constantly running in an attempt to lower the room temperature. Overall, we needed a place to shower/sleep for an early morning flight and this place fit the bill. Once renovations are complete, appears this could be a nice place to stay.

The hotel is under construction, which was not a problem. Our room was very clean and brand new. The air conditioning worked great. We did not go to the outdoor pool, but it looked beautiful. I would highly recommend staying here and would do so again.

All good in terms of room and cleanliness. However, its super noisy due to an ongoing construction and also noises from other rooms. Thanks god it was only 1 night, otherwise I would've have to move to a different hotel because it is impossible to sleep well

Room was fine but was not fuctional. Found a roach in the bathroom. Sink was a weird shape that got all wet and splashed water everywhere. Shower knob was broken and shower smelled like mildew and mold. It also flooded all the time too.

This site is under construction. It's a nice place, but the workers start making noise so early in the morning.

They didnt mention they were under construction. I booked for quiet and pool and good neither. Night one.. fire alarm pulled at 230am. The next day, construction on the pool which means contrect drilling at 8am. I almost lost my mind. Last night, fire alarm again at 9pm. Through out the stay, the doors obviously all slam, the construction and lack of transparency from the property. ...this was the most noise ridden hotel i have stayed in yet. They should say what is happening i.e. constantly, at booking so as a consumer, we can make the choice to stay.

The outdoor pool was closed, but the room was big and comfortable. There was a baby roach in the bathroom, I know it’s Florida some things are unavoidable. They currently have construction. They did start a little early, thankfully I’m up early but for others trying to sleep in it was a little loud. Otherwise it was a great hotel even for a night. Newly renovated rooms. The hotel is very clean and modern I saw that it is in remodeling when I arrived and they never told us about the work schedules, I wanted to rest and at 8am on Friday they were already hammering outside and making a lot of noise, I thought it would only be from Monday to Friday but on Saturday it was also the same, they didn’t let us rest that was really terrible

The hotel is undergoing major construction so it will be really nice whenever it is completed! That being said our room was spotless and on the large size. The bed was comfortable, updated A/C, & staff “Alicia” was great(hope I remember your name correctly)Pool was nice. They do offer breakfast but unfortunately we left very early for a flight but other guests state it’s good. Wish the room had a coffee maker. Enjoyed & I would stay here again.

This was my second time staying here. Other than the cigarette smell in the room it was great! Whoever had the room before me must have been a heavy smoker. Other than that ice cold a/c the staff is awesome. Will be back again!! ✌️❤️🙂

A lot of renovations are being done but it has potential of being a great hotel. Some things could be upgraded but the price was really good for a quick stay.

The room was clean and comfortable. I wish there was an iron in the room but, I went to the front desk, and they had one for me to use. The only issue was not having hot water in the morning. They definitely need to add hooks to hang the towels. Aside from that, the room was clean and spacious. Now, I will say the parking was ridiculous. They are still under construction, so the parking spots were limited. I had to drive around a few times and finally squeezed into a spot. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

The weekend desk person Julian is incredibly helpful. Way beyond what is acceptable. He has a perfect hospitality personality. He was super busy keeping everyone happy. The hotel is half super dump half newly renovated. The owners are trying to make some money but forgot we review. They will change their name to Komposte lose the bad reviews and charge 2 to 3 times what they are scraping up now. But now there are no chairs no tables no microwaves and the pool has the hardest chairs is in the middle of the building and will never get a breeze no matter what the hotels name is. I’ve stayed in Komposte before when done it will be nice for BBB its price range but the area is a gentleman’s club on one way and a Taco Bell in the same parking lot. Why do you charge an amenity destination whatever fee. That’s a rip off

These rooms are always clean despite the construction going on. They do their best to accommodate all of your needs. Andrea is always so kind and you can’t beat the price for St. Petersburg just 15-20 minutes from the beach!

Not enough lighting in the evening, low water pressure in the shower, frig was too small, no microwave, no coffee pot, didn't get towels or wash cloths when we needed them, we won't be checking in again. We had thought about going into the pool, but it looked nasty. I guess that's why we didn't see anyone in it at all when we were there.

Nice view of pool and palm trees. Huge tv for a hotel which was nice! I had a late check out but housekeepers knocked twice EARLY even though my do not disturb button was also ON. Room could use one more additional light. There is no sitting area at the hotel (lobby) unless you go to the pool and sit in a pool chair or sit on your bed in your room. There are no couches or chairs in the hotel room. Not a bad stay. Not a great stay. Neutral.

The property was under renovations, and the rooms were very modern front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful There were absolutely no lights in the room so it was impossible to see anything. There were just two small bedside lamps that were the equivalent of nightlight so at night time it was so dark in the room. You just couldn’t see anything.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Tropical Palms. Andrea, the front desk clerk was wonderful and met my every need and went above and beyond gracious and hospitable. She was a breath of fresh air when this weary traveler needed it. She is the glove that keeps this operation positive. She deserves a raise…..

The hotel is beautiful and smells like a Marriott! The courtyard/pool makes me feel I’m somewhere I shouldn’t be able to afford but in a good way. Andrea* and Julian are personable, attentive and seem to enjoy their time at work, not just enduring it. That when the remodel is done the price will probably go up =[.

It is in the process of becoming a very modern nice looking hotel. Still a bit of construction going on in the meantime however Whatever air freshener / cleaner they are using is very overpowering. It is so strong it makes you wonder what they’re trying to cover up!

There was some construction going on at the time of our stay which wasn’t ideal. It was also very easy to hear noise in the hallways from the hotel room. Check-in time was also 4PM which is very very late. They charged for earlier check-in. There was also no breakfast included, but they mentioned they hope to include it in the future. Other than that, our stay was great! The rooms were very nice and upgraded well, especially for the cost of stay.

The shower would not turn on, and we only had cold water in the sink. Plus at 10:30 the fire department came which Disrupted our sleep. So we asked to changed rooms. We were able to get a different room. Our room was never cleaned ! We did ask for cleaning and fresh sheets and towels. All we got was towels. We are asking for a credit For the 11 days that we left early.The front desk did know about everything and said they could not do anything and to contact Hotels.com and have contact their Corp office

Do not let the outside fool you This hotel is under construction. The whole first floor, is under construction. But this hotel is beautiful. All of the rooms are super clean. Super updated nice bed beds super comfortable beds. The pillows are great. They have a beautiful view a nice pool. And the staff are very nice.

I was not aware that the hotel was under construction. The hotel was not as expected online. The rooms didn’t even have chairs. I repeatedly had to ask for housekeeping. I finally received housekeeping on the 4th day.

The room was recently remodeled but lacked proper lighting. The TV worked when it felt like it. The elevator was working but moved very slowly. I used the stairs that were not cleaned the entire time I was there. there was a spill on the stairway for 3 days. Woke up to the sound of a jack hammer over my head at 730AM. The main lobby area had a very distinct odor of sweat. I will say that the hotel does have potential but in respect to the people that stay there they should close until the remodel is done. Not fair to paying customers

The facility was still under construction with little parking. Rooms were small, simple and nice but zero storage in the room. We left about 1 1/2 hrs after checking in because we found a rat terd in the only drawer in the place and 2 live baby roaches. Staff was extremely friendly and willing to help in any way. But due to the roaches and rats, I do not recommend.

The hotel is being renovated. It seemed that the upper floors are done and they are still finishing the main floor. The hotel is very clean even with construction going on during the day. The room is all new, modern, clean and beautifully decorated. The hallways are clean and also decorated nicely. I couldn't have chosen better decor. The outdoor pool is in a courtyard and also very clean and pretty. The staff was friendly and helpful. Coffee in the lobby. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was no coffee machine or microwave in the room. Also the outside doors did were not shut and locked often. There were signs asking to please keep the doors shut but no one did. I'm sure this will be fixed once the renovations are complete. Even with construction this is a beautiful and clean hotel. Stay here you won't regret it

The place is under a major renovation. Every morning at 6am, there was banging,work done above my room, big equipment moving around,, trash all over the property, dust in my room and hallways. Not even a single chair in my room. I had to eat in my bad. The room smelled awful. The shower is broken. I don't know why this place is in operation and how Expedia failed to warn their clients and recommended it as one of Expedias choices. A horrible experience.

The room appears to be clean in the pictures advertised online but when we checked in, it was not clean at all. The floors were dirty, the surfaces on the counters were dirty, the shower had white stuff on the floor, I’m not sure if it was grout or something else. The light switch had goo-ey substance on it, I was not happy with the cleanliness of the place. I understand it’s under construction, which you can hear every morning at 9am, but I still expected my room to be clean. The blinds didn’t cover the outer parts of the window and because the hotel has bright exterior lights, it almost felt like it was daytime every night. They also don’t provide simple amenities like a toothbrush, I asked for one and they looked at me like I asked a stupid question. What hotel doesn’t provide basic necessities?

The room was fine but had the following issues: the TV did not work most of the time. Staff said it would repair it but it wasn’t repaired until the 4th day of my stay. My room was on the 3rd floor and the elevator was out of order several days during my stay. There was a constant concrete chopping noise that prevented me from sleeping in the morning. There was no complimentary coffee every day. Based on the above, I had to check out one day early and moved to another hotel. I asked the staff if they could comp me one nights stay but they said it’s not possible because I booked the reservations through Expedia. I will never stay at that hotel ever again and I will not recommend it to any of my friends, family or colleagues

Horrible! Couldn’t even get checked in due to the front desk staff being very nasty and rude to me. I wasn’t even able to use the restroom upon arrival without the rude disrespectful and confrontational worker barging into the restroom and demanding I leave. There was no where to sit my belongings down at whatsoever. No tables no furniture nothing. It was under construction so I cdnt even go in the front of the hotel I had to drag my bags all around the building with no assistance. It was terrible customer service and the overall experience was probably one of the worst I’ve ever had with a hotel staff

The lady when I checked in was amazing but unfortunately all of the employees there were too worried about where I parked what door I went in blah blah blah. I had a U-Haul so I was told to park in the back. I did that was a problem and I used the back door because I was told it was okay because I had to park in the back and yep I got a harsh talking to by two different employees. Even though I'm the guest and I'm a grown up. And I was already told it was fine. And they're like well we're employees here and I just kind of disregarded it. They started out harsh but then tried to cover it up at the end but it was still ridiculous. People forget that people pay to stay there so who cares what door they go in really. In addition to that they keep it propped open the employees do so that's got to be an issue on them. Just saying overall the room was very nice exactly like the pictures which you never find so I'm happy about it minus the employees

I prepaid my booking and there was a problem when i arrived at the check in time on my reciept. Staff refused to answer the phone for customer support to contact them. We tried for days to get the booking moved or something but the staff absolutely refusing to help in any way made that impossible. Im STILL trying to get the time i booked but everyone seems to think i shouod just walk away and take the loss, i think the hotel that took money and gave nothing in return needs to take the loss. I worked for that money, they did not.

Horrible condition of building and surrounginds. Although some rooms are already nicely remodeled the while building is under heavy construction and is very inconvenient to check in. I had a late night arrival and had to wait outside a side door, calling a number in the window, and wait for someone else to open the door. Then the front desk clerk wasn't to be found as she was walking her dog at 11:44 pm. This is an old Red Roff Inn (and it shows) with interior wall stuccos falling appart in pieces, without functioning elevators. The front door entrance has a massive steel structure being erected with tons of concrete and debris on the ground, making access to the lobby unsafe and not convenient. There's zero security in and out of the building and the neighborhood doesn't look inviting, to say the least. A place under this level of construction shouldn't be allowed to open to the public until 80-90% of the remodelarion is done. At least.

The hotel is completely under construction. When we pulled in it looked like it had been abandoned. It wasn't until driving around we found a side door open and checked in. If you go through the wrong door you will be stuck on the first floor with no entrance to the actual hotel. The room was beautiful when we got to it, there is no working elevator so you have to use the stairs. Only checkout options are 11 or 12 for late checkout... Went to checkout at 11 and waited 15 minutes for someone to show up. There are no chairs in the lobby to sit and no covered spots outside to sit if you need to wait for a Uber or lyft. A warning of the conditions we were about to walk into would have been nice since expedia gave us no warning at all. Again beautiful rooms and hallways when construction is complete it will be gorgeous.

The front desk staff was extremely friendly but the room was disgusting. Soon as we walked in the smell of mold and the floor being soaked by whatever substances was very unsettling. But i went back up to the front desk to let them know and the clerk help us get a new and clean room right away. Customer service was great

Hotel was under renovation wich was not told to us at booking. Rooms were outdated and dirty. Definitely would not go back anytime soon. Staff was nice and did issue a refund at least for remaining nights left on or reservation.

That was the worst hotel that I’ve ever stayed out. Filthy. The bathtub was filthy. The toilet was filthy. The floors were filthy. They were doing construction which they didn’t say until you checked in so it was extremely noisy and dirty. I don’t recommend this hotel to anybody was absolutely pits.

We did not stay. They are under construction/renovations. We were told that it would be “slightly noisy” due to the work being done. As soon as we got to the first room the workers started outside the room. It was so loud and startling that I had a PTSD reaction.

Stayed here for 4 days in May. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Building overall shows is age, the door to our room needed to be locked to stay closed all the way, bathroom was pretty rundown. The ac worked well and the room was decently clean. Furniture and bed were acceptable. Mismatched and again, just run down but for 70 bucks a night, suppose thats what it is. Pool area was nice, pool was clean. Convenient to public transpo and lots of restaurants very close.

Very friendly staff upon check-in and exit. The room was clean and the a/c was amazing which is a necessity for me. When I read the other reviews I was a bit hesitant but much to my surprise everything was just fine. The side entrance was a bit dirty and there were no coffee cups for the coffee they offered but that wasn’t that a big a deal as we were headed out for breakfast any way. Overall we were happy with the stay. If you just need a place to sleep and a hot shower this isn’t bad for the price.

The desk and tables all had a sticky film, the floor was slippery, bathroom door had no lock. Overall, the place needs some updating. The convenience of the location was central (30 mins) to a lot of outside amenities.

I had to buy a hotel last minute for the Taylor Swift concert for my daughter and her friend so I knew it would be hard to find a hotel but I liked the pictures I saw for this property and the price and thought ok couldnt be that bad and 20 minutes from Raymond James Stadium. Plus the pool image looked beautiful and the way it was described I thought nice we were lucky. Plus I trusted Expedia, well I'm very upset! The room was awful! The moment we stepped in elevator we knew we were in trouble and it was after the concert at 2 am so exhausted. The elevator was dirty and marked up , so old. The hallways smelled awful and musty. Trash cans overflowed . So dirty and old, never been to a hotel like this, it was awful. Then the room, the floors were slippery and wet, same with the tables, the bathroom was the worst! DISGUSTING! WE COULDNT EVEN TAKE A SHOWER! It was pretty bad, it didn't look like it was cleaned and had hair and the walls looked the same in the tiles. The hair dryer also. The beds felt like there was no mattress and squeaked. What's most upsetting is I was told we couldn't get an early check in bc they were sold out that weekend and had to clean the rooms so couldn't guarantee it but so why wasn't ours clean. I am now glad we didn't check in early , but believe me don't go by the images, not at all accurate. This helped us in a bind but I didn't feel good about this staying here with my family.

If you looking to sleep with cockroaches go for it. Using the bathroom a cockroach ran over my foot then when I moved my clothes there were four under them. Black mold in tub. No maid service. Maintenance told me they sold so they aren’t doing any maintenance work. Stay away from this place. I don’t complain much but this place should be condemned.

The room and hall ways are dirty. The bathtub had signs of mold. The bathroom faucet and shower head were corroded. The microwave smelled of Burt electricity and was unsafe to use. The best part of the stay was that the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

No one was using the pool. The water was colder than the water at the beach. There was no maid service. I had to ask for clean towels. When I asked for maid service on the weekend, I was told the hotel did not service rooms on the weekend, under their eco-policy. How not changing sheets, putting out fresh towels, or emptying trash would saves the environment was not explained. Despite this I noticed two staff cleaning rooms on the second floor on Sunday. There were no phones in the rooms. I was told the phones were removed for renovations. This could be a problem in the case of an emergency. There was no breakfast area. They had a Keurig coffee maker in the lobby. They wanted $3 US for a pod

The staff was friendly. The room was dirty, had holes in the walls, the sink didnt drain properly, and it had a musty smell. The property rents rooms to drug addicts who live there. Very shady. Had i known, i would have stayed elsewhere with my children

Rooms were spacious, not overly clean, pool area was nice, but we had the worst kids behaving terribly in the pool. One night came home from dinner and the police, ems and fire departments were there. Who knows what happened??

Place looks decent enough online, but it’s not. There’s mold in the shower and on the corners of the room. Paint is falling off the walls. Pretty sure none of the sheets were clean, or there was just a muggy moist feel to the whole room. There are permanent residents there with whole families and babies screaming. One of the residents, that work there as well, was in a screaming match with the front desk lady about how bad the place was. Sketchy outside of the motel at night.

I have stayed here once before. This is a hotel in transition and I mean transition

I checked-in 1 hour early as I had somewhere to be and was hoping to leave my luggae in the room instead of in my car. When I returned late that evening, I noticed there was garbage in the room and the toilet was dirty. The room also had a desk, but no chair. I only booked this room, as I needed to get some work done between personal excursions. I asked the front desk for a chair and was told "it isn't a given" that all rooms with a desk would come with a chair. I had a broken foot and was told to come back to the front desk in the morning (after 9am) to see if I could get a chair then. Considering check-out was at 11am that didn't leave me any time to do the work I needed to. I wasn't asking for much but apparently an expectation of a clean room and the furniture that usually comes with it was too much. I do not recommend.

Decent hotel. Stayed for 8 nights and didn't have any major problems. The shower had mold all over it and there were holes in the wall. The floors definitely need vacuumed and mopped because the bottoms of our feet were black from just walking around out room. I understand that the hotel is trying to be more sustainable, but it would have been nice to have our room cleaned a couple of times during our stay. Staff was friendly and the pool area was beautiful. The hotel is doing some renovations so it's not the nicest place, but we got what we paid for. Overall we had a good time.

We knew that for the price we paid, we wouldn’t be getting much. Our room seemed sticky and dirty. The bed skirt had stains all over it, the door knob was missing to the closet with the hangers, there were stains on the wall, and hairs stuck to the bedside tables. There was trash shoved in the pocket where a tissue box is supposed to go in the bathroom. The dresser that held the tv was busted at the bottom, and there was dirt and such under the desk. I even had my husband check for bed bugs because I was so grossed out, luckily the mattress had a cover on it. We took wipes and wiped down that we would touch and they were dirty after wiping. And there was this smell, we couldn’t tell if it was cleaning products, or what. For a king room, you’d think there’d be a small table and a couple chairs but there wasn’t so we had to eat breakfast in our bed. There’s more than enough space for one. Honestly, we were very glad that we only got the hotel to sleep in while attending an event in St. Pete. We know it’s under renovations, so hopefully things improve once they’re done.

It appears that there are a lot of issues with the condition of the property. There was ceiling paint peeling down and the curtain looked like it was detaching from the ceiling, There was a tile from the wall detached, and it looked like the paint was peeling from some kind of water damage. They say they are renovating but I have seen no evidence of such things.

Do not stay here! Very unclean. Conditions around property were horrible. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t get in until 4am. Requested late checkout and they gave us 30 minutes more. What a joke. Never ever again!

Tropical Palms is a 1 star facility. The rooms are as basic as any I've ever stayed at. It's old and not at all updated. That said, it's very inexpensive as compared to area hotels which was what I was looking for. Like 2-300$ less a night so if you book hear you get exactly what you paid for. A place to sleep.

The room was partially renovated. The floor wasn’t finished being laid. The wallpaper was peeled and had mold. No cover over the electrical outlet-live wires showing. Shower was very mildewed and needed to be re tiled. The two people we met were nice and the bed was clean. Our room/floor looked like it was partially renovated or forgotten to get finished.

The room was not like it showed online. I was told the room i was booking looked over the pool and it was not. The room smelled like cigarettes. They moved me to another one, that ones bathroom was not working. Shower was in bad shape and the water controls was hard to adjust the water. I end up sleeping at a friend's.

Hotel was an absolute dump, there were bed bugs in our bed, we ran out as soon possible. And canceled. We want our money back

The pool was nice! The staff trued to be helpful. The room definitely could and should have been cleaner. Telephones in the rooms would have improved safety and ease for a wake up call instead of a knock on the door.

Our first room had bugs and very sticky floors. We were moved to a new room, but that one had sheets that weren’t clean (there were little hairs on the bed and the bed wasn’t made), a sticky floor, beat up furniture, and everything in the bathroom was falling off the walls. There were holes in the wall and you could feel springs in the mattress. Staff was nice but this place was a total dive. We only stayed because we couldn’t get a refund.

Tropical Palms is a work-in-progress and although our stay was pleasant enough, you have to look past the spackle-filled walls and the older condition of the hotel. Our room was quiet and clean, but they need to pay attention to detail. We had a microwave on a table but the plug did not reach any outlet. The curtains we partially off the hooks, so they drooped down off the rods. They have no breakfast offered and they charge $3 for a K-Cup. But, although the staff is trying, it may be a while for this place to be in ship-shape,.

did nit like the smell and dirty room

The desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Arrived early and check-in wasn't until 4p, so decided to explore the area and it's beaches. They were nice enough to store our bags behind the desk. Came back mid-evening to finish check in. Got to the 3rd floor and it was like we were in a completely different hotel. It was like an old run down building you see on tv. Paint is cheap by the way. The smell was terrible. The room was worse. The furniture was old, wobbly, painted black and everything was sticky. The bathroom was dirty and so old. Shower was the worst and barely worked. It was so dirty and didn't drain. Yuk! The beds were just as bad. They were not comfortable and they made so much noise they would wake you up. I've never experienced any beds like them. Not to mention the cockroach we saw in the morning!! Where there's one there are always more. Let me just say that, "undergoing a huge renovation" is no excuse for uncleanliness!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! It is cheap, but I would not stay here again if they have me the room for free, and I've stayed in plenty of cheap hotels in my days. I almost never write a review, but I felt that I needed to warn others to steer clear!!

Cockroaches in the room and unpleasant odors. A big difference from when it used to be a Red Roof Inn.

this hotel was nothing like the photo. Yes they had a pool but cloistered in center. No trees, on a busy street. Had balconies that I don't feel safe with. Different color and style of building. Shoddy inside. Maybe clean but I had my doubts. I couldn't control the internal air. People were very nice.

Very good hotel for a reasonable price. Within walking distance of some decent restaurants and a convenience store. Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again !

Main elevator was NOT working ... was told to walk around to the back of the hotel to use a secondary elevator to the third floor, but said elevator only only takes you up .. you cant ride it back down to the lobby so you have to walk down the stairs every single time. Rooms look nothing like whats shown in the pictures! Theres a certain smell/scent as soon as you walk into the hotel like humid or wet carpet. dirty linen and trash in the hallways. room cleanliness and conditions are very poor, stains and paint chips on walls and carpets. bed was extremely uncomfortable, had to just deal with it for one night and then I just checked out early and found a different hotel! would never stay again

My room had no overhead light, only two lamps that were both extremely dim -very weird and irritating

dirty. room was not cleaned upon arrival. sheets had stains all over. checked in and immediately left within minutes. the only good thing was the kindness of the front desk unsure of her name.

Crudy place

Our first room smelled terrible and my allergies made me sick. The curtains smelled pipi. They gave me a really bad time to change us to doer room. Just when I asked what time the manager was gonna be there next morning a room avaliable showed up.

Hotel clerk and maintenance worker were very nice but overheard conversation with property manager and she was just rude and didn’t care that her guest (me) was having an issue in their room. The hotel room needs a serious deep cleaning because it was dirty. I did not feel comfortable during my stay but with such short notice on coming I would have lost money due to there no refund policy. Hotel owners really need to update and really deep clean the hotel. The area it was located in was good. My overall issue with the whole stay was not feeling clean and the rude manager. I hope she’s at least nice to her staff.

It was fine once i finally checked in The 2nd time. The 1st time i tried to check in early at about 11:30 to 12 Noon as i requested an early check in just to drop my stuff off in the room as i had groceries to put in the refrigerator, however the girl at the front desk told me it would be an additional $39 for early check in. I said fine although i felt because i am a GOLD MEMBER that should be FREE!!! I was unable to check in cause my credit card didnt have the $139 available so i had to leave and transfer money on to my Debit Card. I did that and went Bowling, etc- By the time i got back after 5 pm and then it was a LATE CHECK IN, EVERYTHING went well. Im Glad they dont charge extra for The Late check in and was kind of surprised since it seems they get their jollies by effing people left and right!!! Just my observation. Thanks for The Memories!!!

Its is like a 1 star hotel with 3 star employees. Very dirty and out of date.

Roaches, homeless people in the hallways, no water for a day, pot smoking in the room next door, noisy and partying in the rooms.

Big clean room with a comfortable bed.

The place is definitely ran down. I had to span the door to get it to shut and the tub was just gross peeling and broken tiles. I just wouldn't even shower while i was there.

After being moved to a different room, the problems continued. The floor felt like a fast food restaurant, with a greasy residue covering the entire surface. The carpeting also had extensive stains throughout the entire room. Dirty. Smelly. Disgusting.

This hotel is located just south of the PIE airport of Clearwater and minutes north of St. Pete, as well as over the bay to Tampa. So it’s very ideal when it comes to location. The staff is also great. The only complaint I have is that the room I rented had an overpowering odor of bleach. Which always makes me think that the environment is not clean. The bed sheets also had a couple stains near where you lay your head. The price is good and I will be back when in the area and in need of a room.

Cigarette ashes on sheets, never offered clean sheets, dirty rooms, staff came into our room while we were gone, manager didn't seem concerned, never offered to give us a different room or compensate anything. Just very unhappy, will never stay here again. Still waiting from a call from the head manager frank.

Clerks had no idea where I should park to be close to my room. They didn't even know where my room was. When I went to get clean towels, there was no towels. We paid for 4 nights no clean towels. Clerks acted like we were disturbing them. I don't recommend staying. Look elsewhere.

There was mold on the ceiling and the bedding was stained. Bathroom was not cleaned - used soap in the soap dish. We stayed over night because we had a late flight. Not much we could do about it at that time. Just glad it wasn't for more days.

Worst EVER hotel stay! Dirty, broken toilet, tv, huge hole in ceiling, flooded by out slider door, stained sheets, broken sliding g door, no wash clothes , load cursing guest down hall, denied my refund ..

The front desk lady was very nice and friendly. The rug walking to the room seems dirty and old. The room was clean but the curtain from the sliding door was loose from the left top corner plus it seems there was a leak bc on that same corner had mold. The bathroom was clean but horrible also mold, toilet peeling, sink and wall… We ask for another room and there was none so we had to stay it was one night stay plus it was late night so we stay. We didn’t feel safe so I hardly couldn’t sleep because of the people we saw there. I wouldn’t come back to this hotel. I do not recommended.

Water was cool for showering, i was disappointed, room was neat and clean but i had to ask for toilet paper because there was none in the room. The beds wernt comfortable and the pillows were flat.

I booked the cheapest hotel in the area so my expectations weren't too high. It does need some work done like the curtains should be replaced, my bathroom door was deeply scratched from a pet that was locked in there, and a lot of other cosmetic things. But it was clean and the staff was great.

Check in was at 4pm. Had to wait an hour for an available room. (Had reservations) room was dirty, furniture in room was sticky not even cleaned or wiped down. Entrances were never locked, people always hanging around near entrance to where my room was. Asked front desk for extra towels, they told me that I had to look for housekeeping, no intentions of helping .

The walls had holes in them, there were no towels to be found apparently in the whole hotel, the bed springs made so much noise when you moved on them it woke you up, it was horrible to try an sleep that way.

I couldn’t reach the hotel by phone and the mailbox was full. The staff did the best they could. Water leaked out of the ceiling and my shower was cold. It has potential, but needs a lot of work.
