Silver Sands Motel

A quiet laid back hotel. Very clean facilities. Easy communication via text with office. They do a answer in a timely fashion. The housekeeping/'maintenance people are very responsible and always cater to guests.

Negatives: Floor was dirty, my socks were black after walking on the floor. The worst part was there were giant cockroaches dead and alive. The amenities were lacking but I could have overlooked that given the price point. It was the dirty floors and cockroaches that I could not.

Very disappointed. From the pictures and reviews it sounded like it was going to be great. The only good thing was the long-term renter could help with things we needed. We had a group of 3 and we had towels for 1. He helped find some more since the office was always closed. Was also told to contact via text but couldn't get the TV to work so was told to ask him again and he helped with that too.

We had such a blast! At last minute we were upgraded to the 3 bedroom beach house(rented the 2 bedroom) The owner is amazing and was very responsive during our stay with any questions that we had. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you next time we are in Clearwater Beach area!!

The only good thing was it was central to everything but the apartment it's self was not clean with dirty utensils, crockery, broken light fittings silver foil around air conditioning unit and not well maintained it needs a full refurbishment. It was that bad we only stayed the 1 night.

We booked our stay at The Silver Sands for our five year anniversary and to visit family. When we arrived we were able to get right into our room. The owners were extremely friendly and very easy to communicate with. It really was the best way to stay…small family owned and the location was excellent! We’ve already recommended it to several friends.

Absolutely wonderful. Owners are amazing. Rooms are very clean. Just an all out wonderful place to stay.

They did offer a rollaway, but I felt cheated out of what I was booked. I would never have boooed this hotel if I couldn’t get a second bed as there were two of us in the room. I would advise people to know that this bait and switch happened and they will not modify it when you arrive to what was actually booked. I wouldn’t trust staying here again. Next, there was sand in the sheets the first day, no room service for four nights, five days. The microwave didn’t work but they did replace that .

Love the vintage vibe, very clean and very walkable location to anything in the Clearwater Beach area.

Extremely dated. Bed linens stained, clearly very old. Bright yellow sheets in need of upgrade. Property is very cute from the outside, but rooms need a little TLC. Nothing updated in quite some time.

Spacious and affordable accommodations. The beds were very comfortable, which I was pleasantly surprised about at this price! The owners offered us an upgrade to the 2 bedroom suite and it was amazing! So spacious and comfortable. I loved the small deck to sit on in the morning. Room was clean and the full kitchen was great! Perfect location as we could walk to everything yet far enough back from the Main Street that it was quiet and felt safe. I would rent here again if I return to Clearwater.

Pleasantly surprised- here are the bests- the bed is very comfortable. The refrigerator is big. The shower is awesome! The relaxing area outside is well-sized and while the pool is on the small size, it’s refreshingly cool and has a side ridge you can sit on. The minuses are few. Our air conditioner never worked right, but having said that, the room stayed pretty cool anyway. Between my husband and the owner, we tried to fix it but it refused to be fixed. The owner even offered to switch us to another room on our last day that she had ready for another set of guests, so kind! The tv was kinda worthless as you had to have your own streaming services but we weren’t into watching tv anyway. It was a wonderful experience. Charmaine is a fantastic owner of this quaint place, within easy walking distance anywhere. At a third of the cost of the fancy places- we’ll be back!!!

Comfort great

The check in is kind of different. All done via unsecured text, but for the price you can’t beat the location. Also, TV didn’t work. Overall, it was ok.

I had an amazing stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. Coffee and coffee pot is provided. Maintenance, the owner, and a resident were always available for extra towels, tp, or anything you needed. Don’t listen to the bad reviews about this place.

This is a no frills motel but you are in the heart of Clearwater beach at half the price of all the other mega hotels that surround you. It was clean , beds were good and the owner was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

They had a hurricane the day before I was supposed to check in. The bridges to the beaches barrier Islands remained closed during my stay and was unable to check in. I would like a refund.

No parking anywhere

Communication with Hotel Owner/Manager was excellent. Our stay was great. We were out everyday of our stay meeting up with family and friends, returning to the room at night. The area was always safe and our room secured.

pool is enough for the amount of rooms. Walkable to all eteries,shopping and beach. We will definitely be staying here again. We stayed during storm Deby and had no issues.

Coming back everytime :)))

Hate to give a good review. But this place was great for the cost. Excellent location from beach and close walking options for shopping and dining. Will definitely book another stay. A Nice owner and good on the eyes. Lol.

We had a good stay. Had to leave a little early, due to some health issues, but our overall stay was pleasant. It is centrally located, has a small pool and a tropical courtyard. I would definitely recommend and would go back.

This is our second stay at this propery. Charmene is very kind and accommodating. A block away from the beach and close enough to walk to shopping and dining. Highly recommend.

De verdad quede fascinada con el hospedaje, nos asignaron en Beachouse, excelente, confortable y bien amplio. Latimosamente la piscinita estaba cerrada, pero realmente esta no es la atraccion de la locacion. A 5 minutos esta Clewater Beach y es excelente la ubicacion, el balcon uff lo maxim para relajarse. A nosotros nos encanto el lugar. Pasamos una noche pero esta excelente para pasar una temporada de vacaiones

Quiet and relaxing easy walk to most places on the island. great beaches

The check in process is absolutely unprofessional. Called multiple times and they would only text , had to have people staying there to figure that out. No ac in the bedroom very warm . Not pleasant when it’s 100 degrees out .

The owner was there at check in and she was amazing. The room was perfect and we could walk everywhere for the week. Very nice pool right outside our door with lots of seating. And plenty of parking was available.

My boyfriend and I reserved a room just for the weekend as a quick getaway. It was quiet and mostly clean. I really loved it and I cannot wait to come back! I really would like to make this a regular thing. I wasn't sure if I did the check-in process correctly, but I never heard anything so I'm assuming it all went well! I never had to talk to anybody or never did I even see anyone. I love the little things that were left for us just to make our stay a little better. We will definitely be back, it was most definitely worth the price I paid for it and then some.

We had an amazing time!

This little gem is kind of hidden away by all of the BIG hotel's, yet convenient to most of everything. My mother and I stayed a few nights and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. We would stay again!

Cockroaches in the room. No cold water in bathtub/shower. Just very old , needs updating. Refrigerstor was mot clean.

My stay was over all amazing. We had a late check in but they did text me and took all my info over text. We got there really late at night and the a/c, lights, and tv were on and ready for us when we got there. The place was very clean and cozy. It wasn’t anything spectacular but it was very nice and I really enjoyed it. The room had a couch, two t.v.’s a sink, two mini fridges, and a ton of appliances to make food with. We stayed the whole weekend and left without any problems. We will definitely be booking all our staycations with them!!

We liked the size of the room. The price was reasonable. The location was excellent.

The size and location of property was great. There was much we liked about the property but some obvious pride of ownership would go a long ways. The bathrom shower was very dirty as was the kitchen sink.The paint job in the bathroom was horrible. A globe from the bedroom could been installed where it was missing in the living room. The bed is the singlr room seemed like support boards were broken or missing. Linens were worn. The microwave door handle broken. Wall decor was quaint and unique. This unit was spacious and comfortable. The accommodations met our need. There is nothing so wrong that a little elbow grease or a couple trips to a good thrift store couldn't improve quality. With a few improvements I could happily return or recommend the property to friends.

The property did not match what was listed and booked. Air conditioning did not work.

Was an 1 room efficiency which was fine. nice refrigerator, bed was comfy, to check in - no one in the office, had to send text, room was ready and key was on the bedroom dresser in room. Friendly ppl sitting by the pool helped me. Otherwise I would not have known to send msg on arrival! The pool was not working, but had access to other side for a pool. That we never used anyway. stay felt safe.

We booked this Motel in November of 2023 for a group trip with 6 people. Booked a "suite" with three queen/king beds, received a confirmation text for check in on Wednesday for arrival Thursday ...replied with yes we will be there. Plane landed on Thursday morning at 9:00 am, and we received a TEXT that they had double booked our room and only had 1 queen available, do we wish to keep the reservation???...What does one queen bed do for 6 people? Stated they could get us another bed Friday AM , which 2 queen beds still doesn't help 6 people...and each room would be full price which would have been not enough room at amore expensive rate than the original booking we made...Biggest issue we have with the Motel is that once we were in Clearwater and were told that we didn't have a room...no one from this Motel had the courtesy to return or make a phone call...even to this day no one has called and all they would respond to is a text message. Nothing like feeling stranded on vacation with no where to stay and no communication from the place we booked except asking if we wanted to book the one queen bed for 6 people??? I do not recommend and was very disappointed in their communication and trying to make the situation right.

A sweet little motel within walking distance of everything you need. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you any way possible.

The property is somewhat of a conundrum. The location, ease of parking, roominess, mattress quality, and quaintness was great. The cleanliness was all over the board - the bedroom and bathrooms were clean, the rest was disgusting. There were piles of stuff on the floor under the cabinets and chairs. The kitchen draws and counters were filthy. It is a good place to stay but plan on two hours of cleaning when you get there.

This apartment was very dirty in the bathroom we see a lot of mold in the ceiling and tiles, floor did smell of urine, blinds in the bedroom were dusty and sticky same light fan- when turned on it had the dust go on the bed, bed sheets were very uncomfortable. In the first night something bit my wife in on her finger. We have everything documented. After second night we left this motel and we rent another hotel. We try to speak with owner or manager ask for return our money but nobody answer the phone. We absolutely not recommend this motel to nobody. Thanks

Nice older property within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. I liked the place except they overbooked the rooms so I had to find a Different place to stay for the first night even though I paid in advance

When we arrived, the shower door was missing a half of the two panels. In other words, two doors were required, and there is only one present. The one that was present, it was so rusted, and clogged up with soap scum it would not slide back-and-forth in the track. When you tried to move it, the entire frame would collapse, and you would be left holding the door panel up. There is no way they could have cleaned the apartment and the shower without noticing that the shower was missing critical parts. However, somebody had slung Comet cleaning powder into the shower stall and just left it covering the soapdish and the wall. The living room ceiling fan did not work, the living room wall air conditioner would not go lower than 72°, several lamp fixtures did not work. The whole thing was a sad joke. we could not get them to fix the shower until the next day, so we had to drive a three hour round-trip to a relatives house just to get a shower. They would not answer phone calls, they would just text Will be fixed tomorrow. No apologies, No attempt to make it right, etc. on day two, we came back from our daily activity to find that the remaining shower door had been removed, and the door to our apartment had been left unlocked with our valuables inside while the maintenance man went to Home Depot to get a shower curtain. The living room air conditioner also had two buckets under it to catch water, and the shower was caked in soap scum.

I did not get any instructions on how to check. It was difficult to check in. I had canceled a night prior to coming but was charged for the night. I can not get in touch with anyone to get my night refunded. I went to the office that is located in another resort everyday, and not once did I ever find someone there. Someone entered my room without knocking because they thought I had checked out. If they were 10 minutes earlier they would have walked in on me naked. My room was dirty. It had a toaster oven that had food left in it. One light in the bathroom and it was not near the mirror. The bed was not comfortable at all. This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed in. The Wi-Fi password is exotic plum 69. It has a swinger vibe to it. Google swinger resorts in Clearwater and this resort is listed. I wished I had known that first. I definitely would not stayed there. Also, my reservation was for a full kitchen, it did not have a sink, toaster oven was broken, and it had food in it. I wouldn’t trust the coffee pot to be clean (where do dishes get cleaned?) if there is no sink?

We loved our stay because it was laid-back. You walk out the door and immediately hit the beauty that Clearwater has to offer...no elevators...no one looking for a tip.That is MY kind of vacation

Check in was confusing, we werent handed a key. We had to leave door open on Christmas Eve ! Keys were in a little jar on small table near door after all but who knew?

Enjoyed the rest of our day.....got to hotel and it was 39°......both called and texted hotel.....again no answer....sat outside with my family until eventually calling an uber to go somewhere warm.

Property itself was nice and the room was nice. It could of been cleaner. Especially the shower. The floors had a grimy feel, probably due to the sand and such, so a rug by the door would be a good idea. There were no wash clothes provided but my main issue was the fact that the maintenance man was ACTUALLY LAYING IN MY BED when I entered my room. He did apologize and said he was trying to fin the cable. When I reached out to the owner (check in was thru text) and told them they said” ok thanks for letting us know”. No apology or an offering of new bedding. For this reason alone, I’ll never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. I used my own blanket and as soon as time was up, I went to a different hotel.

Location was good. Motel was terrible. Unfit for habitation. Pools not circulating and unclean. No chemicals used in pool. Bathroom door wont close ,warped. Closet full of mold and doors wont close. Flooded drains in courtyard. Unsafe, untrimmed trees are hazardous. AC filters dirty. Mold everywhere. Peeling paint. Noisy resident renters. Daily Use of handicapped spot by vehicles without placard. Hard bed is collapsing. Pillows like bricks. Manager runs three adjacent businesses and pools are not maintained to be safe. Where is the health dept? Someone could get hurt or sick as trees are dangerous.

Staff was very help every time I text a question she answered quickly would def stay here again and have already told everyone I know if they go to Clearwater to stay here cause our experience was so great

It was a typical beach motel, without maid service.

no one in officd to check in with. You have to call or text a phone number and tbey text you back. first night i found 2 large roaches in the room. The room could of used a good wipe down. otherwise it was ok. Nothing to crazy since its a 2 star hotel. Overall, not sure id go back or recommend.

The suite was adorable. The bed was clean and comfy. The do really need to invest in a new shower curtain though. Location was great, quick walk to just about anything you need. I would for sure stay there again.

If you want a quaint cute motel this is the place for you. Never interacted with any staff. They texted me the room number when I flew in which in some ways is convenient. The office was open once our entire trip. The pool is so cute and inviting. It is a good location to local places. Lots of restaurants and bars in the area and very close to the beach. The rooms are cute. Nice full kitchen. The air works amazing which is good for FL. Everything was clean when we arrived.

This property is filthy & unhealthy. Let me begin with the fact that I knew it was older & outdated. What I did not expect was what appeared to be black mold. Once I brought it up to the owner all she wanted to do was send someone in to "clean". I invited her into the room to see and she refused, also refused to look at pictures on my phone. There are at least 2 units with permanent residents, although they are very nice I had to ask for quiet on 3 different nights (They quickly complied). Yes I stayed my full week, I knew there was no way I was going to get a refund if I left. The bathroom light would go off for no reason, then magically turn back on (it wasn't the bulb) owner sorta shrugged that off. The pool is like a bath and I never saw/heard a filter running. I personally skimmed debris 3 different days. I am happy with old/outdated as long as it's clean. Since nobody is ever in the office I just went to the dollar store & bought a shower curtain to replace the moldy one. If you have any sort of respiratory issues I strongly suggest to avoid this motel. This owner has 3 properties and only responds to text messages. It's a great location, but that's it.

DON’T STAY HERE! First off, there was an office, but nobody was ever in it. You had to check in via text. All communication was via text, even if you requested a call back. We got upgraded to penthouse. I’d hate to see what we originally rented. When we walked in there was an unpleasant smell. We found coffee pot with coffee and mold growing on it, dirty dishes still in dishwasher, a box of baking soda in refrigerator that looked like a sconce project and major dust on fans. The worst was the vents that were black with mold and one of bedrooms ceiling ( which was even coming down). After a few days we were feeling sick. We left and got another hotel and requested $$$ back. They text back that it is non-refundable. We shared pics with them and requested many times for a call back. She ( owner) gave us 3 days refund while they got ducts cleaned out. he had her son call me a few times. I feel bad for him having to deal with it all and her not giving a care in the world. Not sure how she can sleep at night running her business this way. We rented for 3weeks. Upon checking back, it looked like they were cleaned a bit, but still had black on vents. The ceiling was still un touched. We never went back to stay. Never received compensation either. DO NOT STAY HERE. The health department would have a field day with this place.

The motel was not the most modern, but the staff was warm and welcoming and eager to please. Great location 3-4 blocks from the beach at a fraction of the cost of staying at a beachfront property.

Room was in questionable condition, bathroom door damaged, paint peeling on bathroom walls, mold in shower curtain, bed linens and pillows smelled! You could not talk to office staff everything was via text! NO PERSONAL SERVICE at all!!!!

The motel was very dirty we paid for 3 night only stayed 1 night very old fashion states it has a kitchenette well we had a small dirty refrigerator no stove shower is very old and dirty

We were able to walk to the beach and dining very easily. The kitchenette was adequate. The only negative I have to offer is that we stayed in unit 1 at the Beachhouse and there was a light that was very bright ly shining in the bedroom all night long in spite of the shutters on the windows. Black-out shades would be an awesome addition as I sleep very poorly when it isn't dark. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

Property is in an excellent location and the room was very spacious and well equipped. Some challenge to check in - it had to be done by text and when we got the room the key was stuck in the lock. Use of the keypad would ease the check in.

Location, and I guess price, were the only redeeming qualities. Old, sheets did not fit bed, office person almost rude.. seemed bothered we were there. Hand towels were like rags I use at home. We had to roll our luggage two miles in heat to a UPS store to be free of them for three hours before flying. Odd backpack sitting by our door for days? Again, walked everywhere. Good location.

Had to text the property manager to check in. Did see any employees until the last day. Mold on the shower curtain and bathroom curtain. It was rundown. Definitely needs some updates! Also heard the people above us the whole time we were there. Seems more like apartments than vacation rental.

The room was OK but not set up for anyone with disabilities like grab vbars and the toilet was the lowst to the follr I have ever seen and hard to bet on and off. No one ever came to service the room or ask if we need things like clean towels. When it was time to check out had no idea how to do so confirmed with my credit card company that the bill had been charged, it was so I left. DO NOT book here if you have vision probelms and don't nok if they have wheel chair accessable rooms.
