Other hotels usually let you check in a couple of hours earlier . It’s kinda of a rip off especially when you have to check out at 11 Otherwise it’s a beautiful place!!

​We stayed at the Sandpearl for two nights to celebrate our engagement following a wonderful dinner at Caretta. Unfortunately, the resort fell incredibly short of its luxury reputation. ​The inconsistency started early. Despite spending over $800 at their restaurant, reception flatly told my fiancé to "just book online." While early check-in was granted, the front desk was abrupt and dismissive when we mentioned our engagement—no welcome acknowledgment at all. When asking to upgrade from two separate beds to a single, the agent sarcastically replied that we "had our whole lives to sleep in a bed together." ​While the rooms are renovated, the exterior is dated and the pool area is absolute chaos. There is nowhere near enough shade, and the "chair saving" culture is unmanaged. Guests reserve sunbeds at 7 AM and leave them empty. When I tried to move towels with expired time cards, staff stopped me. We even witnessed guests arguing over chairs. ​Worse, loud tile-cutting construction with petrol fumes took place by the pool between 12 PM and 3 PM both days. Once that stopped, screeching children's entertainment began. There was zero tranquility. For $1,300, this was not worth it. Front desk, coffee shop, and spa staff all lacked basic customer service. The only bright spots were Dane at Caretta and Elaine by the pool, who were excellent. Save your money; look elsewhere for true luxury.

The room was spotless, comfortable, and offered breathtaking views of the Gulf. Waking up to the ocean each morning and ending the day with stunning sunsets was unforgettable. The attention to cleanliness throughout the entire resort was impressive and made our stay even more enjoyable. The beach itself was beautiful, well-maintained, and perfect for both relaxation and family fun. We spent hours enjoying the water, watching dolphins in the distance, and soaking up the incredible scenery. What truly sets Sandpearl apart is the combination of exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and an unbeatable location. Every detail seemed thoughtfully considered, and it was clear that the staff takes great pride in creating a memorable experience for guests. This was one of the best resort experiences our family has ever had, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, first-class beach getaway!

The location was nice but the exterior of the property is very dated and in poor condition.

My two day stay at the Sand Pearl was kind of mixed. It is in a great location, the staff and service were very good. Food was just average. In general, the grounds and major traffic areas of the hotel were good, but compared to other places that I've stayed at in Clearwater, St Pete, or other beach front locations, there were a few things that they could do better with. In general, the room itself had a few issues, and comparatively speaking the quality was less than with other hotels. They charged $45 per day for parking, which seemed higher than necessary, but they charged for it, because they can get away with it, so they did. There were other little things, that they could have done better with. I don't mean to be picky, but I was starting my day, and went to go turn on the TV, and the remote didn't work. There was a wrap around the remote indicating it was "cleaned", but it was missing a battery. Just a few examples that I didn't run into at other high end hotels. So, again, kind of picky, but again, comparatively speaking I have stayed at other hotels/resorts that charged a comparable rate, where they did a better job on the "little things". Just in general, it seems like their management should take a step back, and really decide who they want as their primary customer base. Currently, there just seems to be a conflict between whether or not to cater to families with young children, people getting married on site, or other considerations.

This was an amazing property, best i've seen on clearwater beach. Great staff, view, clean everywhere, beautiful pool and good amenities. We will return

Beautiful beach resort

Amazing hotel, one of the nicest hotel I ever stayed. The standard room is huge, we had so many luggages, I thought we would need to upgrade for something bigger but nope, plenty of room. The beach is quieter comparing to other hotels, it’s a family friendly hotel, kids have movie nights at the pool, adults had live music in the evening by the fireplace. We had an amazing family holiday and can’t wait to come back next year!

Everything was wonderful except for the pool chairs- there were no chairs at 11am. People save chairs early in the morning at 7am. What is frustrating is that most of those chairs stay empty most of the day.

Great location and a wonderful hotel

If you are expecting a 5 star experience at this hotel you will be disappointed. The cleanliness of the property was inconsistent. After a day out and going in to our room and seeing that, some of the room was cleaned with other parts not even dusted was disappointing. We had a room upgrade after one night but our bags were not transferred properly in the process and we had to wait a long time to be able to change out of bathing suits and shower, in time for a proper dinner that night - this confusion was purely internal staffing communication problems. Tate’s grille and bar could use an upgrade. They also can use an adult pool - there is only one pool, overrun with children and the hot tub was broken. So we never even tried to use the pool - which was a loss. Some of the staff were on-point, some needed retraining and to step up their problem-solving skills. One desk staff member threw another staffer under the bus when we brought a problem to their attention. That’s a very bad look. Caretta restaurant was consistently good. The spa is in serious need of an upgrade, the steam room and jacuzzi were kind of a joke, as was the women’s changing area. They messed up our last massage - scheduled before our flight home so we had to leave without having one - VERY disappointing and the situation was not handled properly or rectified at all. The automatic piano that constantly plays in the lobby is a very dated detail that became very annoying after a few days.

My husband and I stayed here in September of 2025. We were planning on doing many things to explore the area, but each day we decided we just wanted to stay at the resort. It was so comfortable and everything we wanted was there! We will be back!

Beautiful resort, pool and beach but the restaurant food was horrible! I suggest eating elsewhere as we wasted about $500 on inedible food… but the resort itself was beautiful

This was our second visit to Sandpearl Resort. It is a beautiful place. Clean, well maintained and friendly staff. Caretta's restaurant and Tate's beach bar are fabulous. Lots of food options and reasonable prices.

Everything about the hotel was great. There was a lot of activities to keep the kids busy. Great beach and pool accommodations you don’t need to bring anything. Walking distance to tons of restaurants and shops. Room was clean and new. Pool refreshing and clean. Beach access. Games on the beach for the kids. Coffee shop in the hotel.

From the start of check in with Ari to champagne with Valentina, Sandpearl always exceeds expectations.

This property was recommended by a local friend of mine, after we had arrived and stayed a couple nights at a different location and we’re looking for something a little nicer. It has probably become our favorite hotel property on Clearwater Beach now, and we will definitely be back.

Very walkable. Child friendly with lots of kids activities. Staff was very helpful and gave us lots of attentiveness. Highly recommend.

The decor of the hotel, grounds and rooms was beautiful and clean. All hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Found out towards the end of the stay that we were able to use hotel transportation to get to dinner, etc. That was wonderful, but wish we were told from the beginning.

First class hotel! From the front desk to the maid service, the staff were incredibly accommodating - they made us feel like rock stars. The restaurants served great food, the lounge/bar was fun with live music most nights, the location was fantastic, the hotel was exceptionally clean, I can't say enough about this hotel. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. We decided to plan a trip there next year!

The response from management was dismissive. They claimed no responsibility, offered no support beyond a generic apology. requested him to review cameras but was told there is no cameras. This wasn’t a misplaced item — it was taken. I feel like he didn’t take me seriously. I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, and this experience was a first — and hopefully the last. If you’re traveling with valuables, think twice before booking here. A locked door and trust in staff should mean safety not risk. Expensive lesson learned.

Beautifully renovated. Friendly service. Nice pool area with ledges to half sit in the water. One bedroom worth the upgrade. Kitchen stocked with basic utensils and has stove oven mic full fridge. Needs a coffee maker (not just keurig) and baking sheets, colander and good knives. I would stay here again but they need to fix the following: bathroom locks broken, the three elevators were extremely slow or broken for the duration of our trip. Broken balcony chair. No hot water in the shower during busy times.

We were given the wrong information regarding the room we booked 6 months ago and we ended up getting a room on a bad side looking over the roof of their restaurant with all kind of noise from ac units and exhaust they have on top and their manager was super unprofessional telling me I can not kick someone out of his room for you for a moment I felt I am talking to a child who will ever think about that . Be careful they play nice u til you book with them and then they told me Expedia does not have the good rooms and Expedia customer service did not offer any help

It’s a beautiful property. We had some issues with the TVs that weren’t resolved during our stay (after 2 calls), but other than that, it was great.

Fantastic 3 night stay at Sandpearl. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with the upmost hospitality. All of the staff are very accommodating and ensure you have the best stay and everything you need. Pool was beautiful but make sure to get there early to get chairs. Shoutout to Valentina and the complimentary mimosas! My only suggestion is a full length mirror in the room.

This Resort never failed in any area.

The kindest staff members were the door greeters and house keeping. Valet didn’t even return a head nod if they weren’t parking a car for you. When using beach wait staff I asked for French fries and was returned with “yeah I’ll get to it right after I help these 15 other people”. Never did I get his attention again even when he walked by and I waived my hand. That’s when we decided to go to restaurants instead using resort. Over a handful of times we had to switch elevators because they broke down regularly. For $600 a night, we were woke up at 6:30 am our first morning of vacation because of a guest on the phone next door. When we explained how we left 3 kids at home and wanted to sleep in, I got a blank stare and no offer of switching rooms. I asked for a fan and house keeping dropped quick. The whole reason we booked a room was because we were impressed with our massage we used the Sandpearl for while staying somewhere else. A new feature is automatic gratuity for the massage that we didn’t get 4 years ago, when we decided to tip in cash even then. Just be ware, for the money you spend. It is not worth it. Also the activity counter by the pool was very friendly! Sad we remembered the good ones because everyone else was, not so nice. Also the Sandpearl never sent me a receipt when I asked for email then even called and left voicemail to accounting asking for a receipt. Very odd, comes off as sketchy now and not luxurious. Don’t spend your money. We will check out the Opal.

My favorite part of staying at the Sandpearl Resort was the feeling of always being surrounded by luxury, from the moment we pulled up, to the last day of departure. The food is delicious and the beach is stunning.

If you go there bring your own umbrella. The day we arrived they didn’t have any available and we got a major sunburn. Couldn’t enjoy the rest of the vacation. Waste of time and money.

Not so good: Requested a rollaway bed when we made the reservation, called them to tell them I wanted a rollaway bed, I told them at check in we wanted a rollaway bed. I texted their number saying I wanted a rollaway bed. 2 hours after check in....no rollaway bed. 3 more calls and texts to their team and then the bed shows up. No apologies, no nothing. The other thing I didn't like is they charge a "resort fee" but you don't get anything for it. They give you a card that says that the resort fee is cover "wifi" and towel service at the pool. Meanwhile, you get the towels from one guy behind a counter...that requires a fee? Additionally, they nickel and dime you for everything. For example, they list activities for kids, but everything costs money. Want to use the kids club? $100 per kid, want to partake in their smores thing they have? $6 for a graham cracker, one marshmallow, and a small piece of chocolate. I understand there may be upcharges and things like that, but it seems like all these hidden fees are not disclosed when you book the room. ALL mandatory fees should be included in the list price, otherwise its misleading. Overall we were happy but honestly I don't see myself going back there again.

The resort is very expensive but the rooms were clean, the facilities were beautiful, the service was great. The staff were all wonderful friendly and accommodating. I would recommend it all if you can get past the rates and incidentals that really add up!

The Sandpearl Resort was very nice! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was great, and had beautiful ocean views at each restaurant. The bartenders at the more formal restaurant inside the resort were awesome and made excellent cocktails. We had a gulf front room on the third level with a huge balcony overlooking the pool and beach. We mainly stayed at the beach because there were plenty of open chairs available. The pool seemed a bit more crowded, so less open chairs. The pool and beach have towels available to use for the day as well. Overall we had a wonderful trip and will definitely go back!

Large, very clean room. Great bathroom with nice amenities. Excellent restaurant, easy beach access. Pool very crowded and difficult to get seats but beach was wonderful if you don’t mind paying $30/day for an umbrella. Would definitely consider this and other Opal properties for my next trip

Pool area way to packed. There is not a good system of having people remove their towel after they leave so others know chairs are vacant. Movie great idea but it’s squeezed in a corner of pool area only for he few chairs in front can comfortably watch. Definitely didn’t have the high end feel I was expecting.

A 5 star property, great dining options, a beautiful view of the ocean and sunsets, pool, hot tub, spa and recreation activities such has corn hole, ping pong and biking. Lots of young families with kids. A great vacation especially if you like to combine a beach vacation with luxury and also watch a few Phillies spring training games.
