Beautiful room with full ocean view. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Nice amenities on each floor with bananas and Nutri-Grain bars in the mornings and cookies and nuts in the afternoon. Water and ice were always available. Tote bag was extra treat we were not expecting

Everyone was amazing except bartender at the beach bar. Wouldn’t give us timely service because we ordered water. Watched him drink 2 drinks while bartending.

We have always had a wonderful time at Opal Sands, We love the restaurants and the wonderful staff. The little perks are great too like the ice cream at 2:00 on the pool deck.

Resort is beautiful, staff and service was wonderful. Valet parking is a must and there is a fee. Resort has beautiful outdoor spaces and steps away from the beach. Restaurant, Sea Guini was great for breakfast, food was very tasteful and fresh. Loved and enjoyed every day at this resort.

For the price of our stay the floors in our hotel room were filthy.. our bathroom shower curtain had mold spots, the bathroom tub outside of the bottom had mold on the caulking. All appliances were wore down and not properly sanitized. Their hotel restaurant was extremely over priced for knock off sea food and pasta dishes that you can make better at home basically it was all frozen food and pop into the oven… again for the price of the hotel I would say this was my worst stay by far… the views were nice though!

The hotel was walkable to the beach. We did not have to cross any streets. We were able to take towels from the hotel to the beach. There were third-party vendors on the beach to rent, umbrellas, chairs, or a cabana. The restaurants were good. We enjoyed the food and drink at the restaurants. There is a bridge that connects the sister property across the street. The hotel is walkable to Pier 60, but there are other hotels that are a little closer to Pier 60 like the Wyndham. There were also other restaurants that we could walk to.

Amazing stay. From the staff to the property, one of the best stays we have had at a hotel. Will be back no questions. Our room was absolutely beautiful and somehow were upgraded to a room with a wrap around balcony. Enjoyed every minute while there. Every staff member I dealt with was great.

Spectacular Beach view, the staff was AMAZING everywhere we went, and SEAGUINI restaurant truly made our stay special. Our room and all common areas were spotless. The only downsides were the worn-out mattresses and an A/C that never cooled enough to reach a comfortable 70°F at night.

An awesome weekend. The view was amazing, the pool crystal clean, right on the beach, lots to do within walking distance, housekeeping very attentive, hotel was sparkling clean, we enjoyed the spa, we were served lunch poolside. Fantastic time all the way around! I will be back soon!

We had a “Gulf view” but it actually overlooked the parking lot and then you could see the gulf. The beach wasn’t a private beach which I now know to look for before booking. Chairs were $50 a day so it was either pay $50 or sit on a towel. The menus at the restaurants were essentially all the same. Aside from that the kids had a great time in the pools and hot tubs and especially loved free ice cream every day

This was the best experience we have ever had! We arrived and were amazed by the beauty building, clean and sneezing good, view of the ocean and access to the beach.When we went to check in we were told that our toom us upgraded.The room was on the 9th floor and was a big one bedroom appointment with one and a half bathroom.We went to the balcony and woooow!!! Huge area with many tables, chairs, couche and an incredible view of East,West and North.In the morning we were able to see the sunrise on East and full moon on North side, over the ocean.The weather was cloudy both nights and we weren't able to see the sunset but we saw the huge full moon on the North-East side.We ordered in room service the first morning and we were pleasantly surprised of the huge portions, the way the dishes were presented and how delicious the food and cappuccino was.Later on we had delicious drinks at the pool.They gave us towels for the beach also. The second day on the afternoon they brought free ice-cream at the pool. At the halfway on our floor there was an area with free pre packaged snacks and water.We have booked only two nights but after we saw the hotel and the room we wished we booked it for more days.The location is very convenient to shops, restaurants and live Entertainment.There was a wedding at the hotel the one night, no destructive noise or anything.On site they have a nice restaurant, poolside bar and Tiki bar. We ate breakfast at the restaurant on our second day with nice vie

Loved the pool and view. The only thing we didn’t like was all the birds constantly swooping down and trying to steal food and were noisy. Our room was great with an awesome view from the 10th floor overlooking the beach and opal sol. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner was quiet which we loved. The only thing missing was a lock on the bathroom door. Also loved being able to get water and ice on each floor.

Just returned from 5 days at The Opal Sands. The resort is beautiful located right on the Gulf beach with its pure white sand and light green ocean plus a pool with many chairs and umbrellas. The inside is stunning with its decor, staff always friendly and willing to help with anything. Our room was large with living area, eating area, very well attained. Can't say enough about it, it's restaurant was also top notch. Stay here for sure!!

This place really suks! Beds are terrible. Pillows are terrible. AC suks! Overall for the high price, this place is absolutely terrible!

Amazing hotel and experience. The rooms were clean spacious with great views, the staff was excellent and really on top of everything. The food at every restaurant that we ate at on the property was amazing. And their amenities between the pools and the fire pits and everything else was just incredible. Although they don't have a private beach, which would've been nice, there's easy access to the public beach, right next-door, which then rents umbrellas and cabanas.

Opal Sands Resort was and outstanding spring vacation destination. Service, cleanliness, and beautiful surroundings made for a wonderful vacation. The food at Opal Sands was very good. It was worth every cent. It can get a little noisy from the street traffic at times. I would highly recommend Opal Sands.

Staff was immediately so welcoming. We arrived 2 hours before checkout and they took the time to speed up the process. We told them there was no rush but 15 minutes later the room was ready. They even upgraded us to a beautiful suite. Housekeeping did a great job and were very respectful, kind, and helpful. Pool was the perfect temp and the beach is literally at the bottom of a set of stairs after the pool. The view-I was speechless. We watched dolphins from the balcony of our room in the morning! Would definitely recommend and visit again!

It was an absolute wonderful place to go and relax. This is my place to stay in Clearwater next time.

This hotel was very nice. I had the gulf front view room and it was great. The room was clean and the property was well maintained . You also get turn down service which was nice. Right after on the beach. Definitely will be back.

The restroom was not cleaned and no fresh towels. Floor was not clean. Picked up two containers of trash on the beach! Staff was approachable! Beach view 7/10

From the moment we arrived we were treated well . Employees know how to take care of customer needs. My wife and I had a beautiful room with a great view. The room was continually cleaned and refreshed. The pool is beautiful and the restaurant delightful . We will definitely be back. Thank you Opal Sands management and staff!

Our stay at Opal Sands was excellent. The view from room was beautiful as it looked out to the ocean and the beach going to the beach was easy because you just walked down downstairs to reserve a beach chair in the morning and then you could enjoy it all day. The pool was heated and excellent shade in the morning, which was great for kids. The towel service at the pool is the best I’ve ever seen. We were able to get towels for the beach and the pool as needed. The food by the pool and the sandbar was great for lunch. We had a reservation at the restaurant and it was the best meal we had. We also walked to several other highly rated restaurants in the area and enjoyed having options. Note the beach can get crowded on busy weeks. However, everyone is very pleasant and I didn’t even feel it since the chairs create space and the safe walkin areas of the ocean extends very far.

Expensive but best property on Clearwater beach. Walk to the pier, restaurants & shops. Heated pool & steps to the beach with poolside service & great food.

I have stayed at this resort multiple times. This year they added a beach bag for guest, which was very nice. I stayed on the third floor, which did not have bottled water like other floors, which was disappointing, however the cleanliness of the hotel, the food and beverages, and staff made up for it.

2nd time at this resort will be back. Staff rooms and views is awesome.

The views of the Gulf from our room was spectacular, and the resort itself was beyond amazing. We ate at Seaguini for breakfast and dinner and the food was delicious, as was the food at the sister hotels restaurant. We are already planning our return.

The room arrived with extra special gifts, and was ready a little early. We are grateful that we came just before spring break arrives. The staff in the SPA were great. Heated pools open until 10 was a very nice feature.

Harrison, who is supposedly a manager kept insisting that Expedia is a third party and having stay protection or having paid 405$ deposit carries no weight, and the several holds being put on my card in addition, some would be returned, some pending- but none could be documented so that I could sign and be clear what I am responsible for. I also have a lot of belongings and the check in valet crew were overwhelming where I felt they didn’t want me to have access to my car. The concierge/ checkin staff did not know anything about the beach policies, claiming it’s a public entity despite they advertise and market its proximity. I was delayed in arriving , I texted my concerns and I got an AI generated response, when I asked in person, the response was similar- a vague guess. The restaurant, pool, and other staff were excellent

The room definitely we stayed in needs some TLC, the bathroom toilet paper holder kept falling off, the water pressure is nonexistent, the walls in the bathroom were very dirty. The room was comfortable overall. The property on the other hand was amazing. The views phenomenal, cannot be beat. The food was also very good.

This was the most disappointing hotel experience I have ever had! (I am a frequent traveler). I was traveling with my family for a vacation, and we waited approximately two and a half hours to access our room due to an unresolved issue. Although the regular check-in time is 4:00 p.m., we did not receive our room until 6:30 p.m. When I asked the manager for an update, his response was unprofessional and discourteous. Additionally, when we inquired about our luggage, staff were unable to locate it. We waited an additional hour before it was returned, only to discover that it had been placed back in our vehicle without our knowledge. Overall, the hotel was poorly managed, and there were several other issues not mentioned here.

Very enjoyable and relaxing.

Disappointed in the grouper meal. Filet was too thick therefore was not properly cooked at center. Very slow night for server so didn't want to complain, plus I normally don't. I have been in Florida 45 years and know when it is poorly prepared. Difficult to properly cook when too thick. Flavor was also bland. Not good black grouper for the price. Room and view were great. Normally I don't eat at hotels but I did that eve for my wife's birthday. Server was okay.

The balcony view is spectacular nothing less than spectacular. The rooms are very spacious and beautiful. The entire resort is absolutely gorgeous. Love how the pantry on each floor is included, free ice cream by the pool and the cat walk to the sister hotel is wonderful by proving easy access to additional restaurants. The restaurants are top notch. Easy access to the beautiful private beach. One of my favorite vacations!

It was, without a doubt, one of the best experiences I have ever had in a hotel. I was truly impressed by the facilities, the quality of the service, and every detail offered during my stay. It was a special moment that will certainly remain in my memory with great affection.

The hotel was fine. Pretty but not the luxury experience it touts. The view is bar none, and the sound of the ocean puts a smile on your face. It’s not quiet if relaxation is what you’re after. The patrons having fun at the pool and the music are quite loud requiring you to close the door for relaxing. The housekeeping is abysmal and again as a luxury hotel not something you expect to encounter as you’d imagine at least there is a supervisor that performs checks and balances. After checking in I had to abort my shower as I looked up and noticed clumps of hair attached to two walls. There was no apology, no manager to intervene as offered when I phoned the front desk. A young maid eventually came to clean this I and I was grateful. Three days later housekeeping came by again for the first and only official visit, evidenced by the made up bed -not clean sheets-and removed used towels. However the melted soaps, empty cleanser and shampoo bottles remained not to mention the trash. We resorted to wearing flip flops due to the sand and dirt accumulating on the floor- to be expected during 4 days of use at a beachside hotel. And to top that off they while leaving everything else used behind took the shower cap and all wash cloths without replacement. Could I have again called the front desk sure, should I have to? No. Also, given the lackluster first interaction I just decided to finish the stay and seek alternate lodgings on my next visit to an otherwise beautiful location.

Nice property it takes a long time to get hot water to come on in the shower. Also we're awakened at 5:00 in the morning with the sound of somebody running some equipment outside of our window that woke us and disrupted our sleep. Would not recommend saying in the north end of this building.

Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Hotel restaurant was delicious. All staff were super helpful and friendly. Beach is right off of pool, down some stairs. Can rent chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas from the beach. The rental is through Clearwater beach but they have it set up where you can charge your room. They set up all the chairs in the morning. You find a spot, first come first serve, and they will come to you for payment. Overall great stay!

Gulf view with manatee, dolphins, pleasure boats entertaining us during our stay. This resort has a pool 3ft max. depth with lounge chairs adjacent to tiki bar and to the water below the sea wall. Just you and a waterview with the spectacular west coast sunset. Music and another bar/dining area on lower deck which lead to beach and pier. Inside dining was good, wine too with another sunset view. We extended our stay another night! Didn’t want to leave this place. Mobile check out was less impressive. When we returned home, I contacted accounting and promptly was credited $$$ to my cc. Five star resort and hoping to finalize another stay soon.*****

This is our first time staying at Opal Sands, but we will be back! We went just for the night to celebrate our 8th year wedding anniversary, we had a blast! It’s a beautiful resort & we had a great view of the beach and enjoyed being able to use both the amenities at Opal sand and Opal Sol. We had dinner at Drift at the Opal Sol and our waiter, Jes was amazing! Everything was delicious and his recommendations were fantastic! We were actually sad that we only came for one night and wish we had come for the weekend. Next time we will definitely stay longer.

Beautiful property and location with easy access to the beach

Amazing property, clean, staff super friendly and accommodating.

I found it shocking that the beach was dirty in the morning. It was like a night club was there with all the bottles and plastic. City crew was on the beach at 6am. When I left at around 9am to go back to my room at opal, the beach was clean. This is not the resorts job because at least 50 more resorts, along with bars, restaurants, and stores share that coast in the gulf. And it is at least a thousand people on the beach daily. Maybe city crew should come at night or earlier than 6 AM. I hope they figure something out. But all in all my trip, the beach and activities was a 9.9999 out of 10. Opal I am sure share responsibility, but so do the other businesses and resorts. We should all do our parts.

Best hotel ever stayed at, will definitely come again

Beautiful view!

The hotel and amenities were fabulous! We did not expect the beach to be so crowded, so we mainly stayed by the pool. It was really nice, very convenient, and had an amazing view. Couldn't be happier!

Cons are the parking is pricey, the breakfast restaurant closes too early, poolside drinks were too pricey for their more frat party style (everything has a sprite top off or way too sweet) then handcrafted -lacks sophistication. Opal Sol pool drinks and bar seemed better and better food as well. I think this is a great getaway, we stayed a week, it felt like we ran out of options of new food places, things to do after about day 5. The beach parking lot has a lot of honking and occasional loud music from beach patrons. The ocean waves are not loud enough to block that noise but otherwise it is pretty and peaceful for relaxing stay. Best part of the room was the balcony- nice to sit and watch the ocean and people below. The room was the studio model and felt small after a few days. It has everything but no desk or table only the little table outside on the balcony. We really enjoyed the pelicans and sea birds soaring around the hotel beautiful. We even saw a dolphin! It was not as romantic as the Caribbean but still a nice trip.

Opal Sands had the best view of the Gulf of Mexico. The sunsets from the balcony was always spectacular! The in-house Sea-guini and Sandbar Restaurants were both amazing!

The best location on the beach! Stunning views, practically on top of the gorgeous Gulf. The Sandbar has great drinks and is a perfect place to watch the sunset!

Property was clean, beach was right across the street, clean rooms, good food, great staff!

Me and my wife went for two nights to celebrate our 23rd anniversary,I asked earlier before check in for a bottle of wine waiting in the room to surprise my wife ... They texted me back that they will surprise me with more than that... It was nothing in the room

This resort is amazing, the views are spectacular. The staff and amenities were really good. Valet parking was very good also. The views are from another world.

Clean

We only stayed for one short night, but it was everything a mom and three kids could’ve hoped for. The location near the beach was perfect, and all three pools were beautiful. The hotel was well-maintained, and we’d absolutely stay again.

Overall beautiful resort

Upon checking in I was told we had an upgrade , I didnt realize the upgrade meant our room we picked wasnt available anymore and we were put into a whole other hotel that had a view of the public beach and not just a gulf view. It was also noisy . We were bumped from our 5 star hotel to a 4.5 star hotel but still charged the same price

Friendly staff. Beautiful ocean front, easy access to the Beach

My friend and I really enjoyed our week long stay. We ate at both restaurants and had delicious food at each one. We were also able to explore the other end of the beach than where we’ve stayed previously and it was much quieter. It also gave us a chance to try out some new restaurants, Salty’s, Taco Bus and Ice & Cream Creamery, that were nearby. Our room had a great view of the gulf and we could see from the beach that the majority, if not all, the rooms had gulf front views. There was also a snack pantry on our floor that had small packaged snacks, fruits, and cookies, as well as ice and water. The only issue I had was the plug in by the bedside table was very loose and I thought my charger was going to come unplugged but it thankfully didn’t.

This was my family’s first time there and everyone was kind. Things were clean. We could walk to the beach and it is beautiful! We will come back to visit some day again.

Stay was great, however, the room appeared clean, but my daughter’s stuffy fell behind the bed and when i reached for it, it was covered in dust bunnies. The TV kept coming on by itself but was told that the tv remotes in every room were universal so it could have been a neighbor turning their TV on and it was turning ours on too. The walls are pretty thin, so i believe it. The restaurant on site (Sea-Guini) was very over priced. We ended up trying local restaurants in the area, off the resort. We enjoyed the pool and how close we were to the beach. Valet is mandatory at $40 a day. Overall, although pricey, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend. The views are beautiful!

It was a wonderful, first stay, experience. Staff and accomodations were 1st rate. Location was great and hotel had high-tech features. Will definitely come back again!

We loved everything about the Opal Sands! The staff super friendly and attentive. The rooms were great, pool was wonderful and the food was delicious. We loved having access to the Opal Sol as well!

I had a great stay at this hotel. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The parking was safe and conveniently located within the premises. One of the best parts was the easy access to the beach — just a short walk away. I would definitely stay here again!
