Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Suites

My go to spot

The property was very clean, and conveniently located. I loved that a discount was given for chairs and umbrella on beach. That is not the case at other hotels. My only complaint is that the pool is too small for the size of the resort, and lack of shade. Rules were not enforced, as unsupervised kids took over the pool area. Kids should not be in pool unsupervised period. My daughter (adult) left belongings at pool (shoes, water bottle, clothing), and nothing was turned into lost and found. Her fault, but bizarre that items weren’t turned in. Overall, I liked the resort because of cleanliness and location. A few minor issues with pool area.

What happened next is why I’m taking the time to leave this review. Two managers personally reached out to me, sincerely apologized for the inconvenience, and went far above and beyond to make things right. Not only did they provide the items I had originally ordered, but they added extra touches and fully refunded the charge as well. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the way a business responds says everything. The kindness, professionalism, and genuine care shown by the hotel team turned a disappointing situation into one of the highlights of our stay. Thank you for making us feel valued as guests. We would gladly stay here again.

My stay at the hotel was magnificent, and the service provided by the afternoon assistant manager, Mr. Diego, was unsurpassed; however, the treatment I received at the pool was not only uncomfortable but discriminatory. A staff member demanded to see my card right away—which wouldn't have been an issue in itself, were it not for their tasteless comment about people leaving without paying. Furthermore, the valet parking attendant was quite dismissive; he asked me to drive around the building to a specific spot just to photograph the vehicle—in the middle of summer, with endless lines of traffic all around—and then acted in an imperious manner when telling me to move my car.

Next time I will request shower only. The shower was a little outdated and you needed to pull hard on the knob to release the shower water. But not a big deal, just older than when we had a shower only. Only mentioning for others that dislike a shower tub. Overall the hotel is really staying up to date. If you are looking for a great location , on the beach and easy access to everything on Clearwater Beach, this is it! Especially for families. The hotel staff is super friendly and very helpful! We will be back!!

Property was awesome-I travel a lot and never have been to a more beautiful beach. We went down from our awesome corner view beach view room walked across the road and the beach was right there. The pier was amazing as well. My sons fished and had a great time. There is a lot of activities right at the pier. Not even a half a block down from the Hyatt was a surf style retailer. Huge retail store with clothing gifts beach gear, and a few staple groceries.

We had a 2 bdr/2 bth oceanfront unit with balcony. The beds were very comfortable, and housekeeping was very efficient, quiet, and quick. The living room A/C unit did not work the first night we were there. The engineers (very nice) replaced it the next day. However, when the fan would cycle off, it would make a strange noise. Also, the restaurant/ marketplace should open before 6:30 in the morning. And the gym equipment needed a thorough cleaning.

Room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed using the gym and the hotel breakfast was decent and an ok value compared to the other restaurants nearby. The parking, unless valeted, is not convenient at all and kinda dirty. Super expensive too. Location is pretty decent to the beach but I’m not sure how great of a hotel it is for a hardcore beach goers.

Will definitely be back!! This hotel is well worth the price. The wait staff and bartenders are so great. Pool area is gorgeous and you get discounted chair rentals at the beach. Rooms are beautiful and spacious. Hotel was overall very quiet, never could hear people in the hall or other balconies. Cannot bet the location!! Was seriously so impressed.

We love the Hyatt Regency for the kitchens. Our family makes breakfast and lunch in the room and enjoys dinner at the walkable restaurants. There's a grocery store nearby so we stock up on food, snacks and drinks for the beach. Highly recommend a room on the south side of the hotel.

We liked our 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, and living room. The views were great! Liked the beach and food options. We liked the pool, but there was an issue with that. There were people being served at the bar near it and they would drink while in the pool and put their empty cups and half drunk cups on the pool decking and leave them there. We waited until evening for them to be gone to swim and the cups and garbage stayed all around the pool. Kids are kicking pool balls and it is hard to imagine that some of the alcoholic beverages left on edge of pool didnt make it into the water. The breeze was blowing some of the empty plastic cups in the pool. Yuck. People shouldn't leave them behind, but they are, so the bar staff or someone should be collecting them if people are allowed to bring drinks in the pool. So is this a partying pool that you want or a family pool that you want? We have not seen this before and we have stayed in some of your competing pools there in Clearwater Beach

#2 Went down stairs to get my truck which we were paying 40 a day and walked up to young man at valet handed him my ticket and he didn't even take it at first he looked at me and said what's this arrogantly as I was suppose to know the pro ess of call down be4 you come get your car or truck very unfriendly & arroganty sarcastic. #3Went to breakfast at the property called shore and the wait was super long not knowing it was a buffet or a la cart we went thinking it was a la cart only so we actualy went to be seated and pay top dollar when the finaly got to us it was like 30to45 minutes later waiter was un focused u engaged clearly was somewhere else no napkins were brought no starts either and I asked for a bowl.of fruit to eat with my breakfast well they forgot and didn't bring that I mentioned to 1 waitress she said she would get that for me never came out my breakfast was already at the table mind you #4Well my wifes steak as well came uncooked super bloody she asked for to medium well so they took .y wife's plate and brought her another 20.minutes later when I already had finished earing meanwhile my fruit never brought out so that's service at the SHORE in the hotel #5 Ive been world Hyatt member for over 7 years related this to the man at the front desk he confirmed my status to attach the stay for credit to.my points as well as that did not get recorded or do e as he said he was doing at checkin. #6 Another disappointment no in

Cons - Couch was a bit old and sank when you sat. The outdoor hot tub is outdated and not working properly in terms of jets and water temp. The pool drinks are very overpriced for size and quality and so is the self park fees of $37 per day. Overall, I would return because the pros outweigh the cons but would love to see some reasonable changes

The Hyatt Regency Clearwater is a total win for its prime beach location and those massive suites with killer Gulf views. The pool deck sunsets are unbeatable, and having all the best shops and eats within walking distance makes for a super easy vacation.

Great stay if you want to get a bang for the your Benjamin’s. High quality great vibe great view vacation was amazing perfect and people weren’t stuck up.

We have been coming the same week every May for ten years and the hotel is a little rough in the teeth. Paint only covers so much as carpets and flooring look old and date as does the overall decor. They could really use a good bar as what they have now is sterile. The pool area is really beat up and the restaurant is lacking. Great location but I think we will look at other options for next year..

Good location, missing a few amenities such as better spa that would typically include sauna and steam room, a bar that is open past 11:00 p.m. a little better convenience store, overall most people would probably say this property is great.

There was an issue with the pixels on the TV and phone was not working but properly addressed by housekeeping and engineering. They replaced it with a new TV. Hubby could watch the game. Things happen but the staff immediately remedied the issues. That is what impressed me was the promptness!

This last trip we tried out the spa and both got therapeutic massages. It did not disappoint! We are normally kidless for the anniversary trip but last year brought our toddler because we knew she would have a blast. This whole trip we talked about all the things she would love and can't wait to bring her back! The only complaint we have is the A/C. It's motion detected so at night when we were asleep we woke up numerous times because it had gotten up to 75 plus degrees in our room. We typically sleep at 68 degrees comfortably at home and any other hotel we stay at. We did get a box fan brought to our room from staff but we didn't mention the A/C issue. We will mention it our next stay as despite the heat we had a great time as usual.

Everything was perfect from check-in to checkout including the service, the view, the beach access, the towel availability, cleanliness, ease of parking, access to restaurants and entertainment, the in-room comforts and kitchenette and more! This is the second time we’ve stayed here and I will definitely be back!!

However, the room was noticeably dated and in need of quality repairs. I hope that ownership gives this hotel the remodel it deserves.

The suite was had a full fridge a good view of the water from the balcony and cleaned well every day. The hot tub was not hot or bubbly enough and the lining was old and looked dirty. The pool area was wonderful with amazing views of the beach and water. The cantina staff was great too. We enjoyed the Shor restaurant as well

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Room was clean and spacious, beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. We had a beautiful partial ocean view and loved sitting on the balcony. The hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly. The location was perfect - just an easy walk across the street right to the beach. We were able to walk to various shops and restaurants very easily as well. No complaints! We would definitely stay again!

We had a great time when we visited Clearwater! That was mostly because of our stay at this property. The pool and hot tub were great and the beach was absolutely beautiful! I will absolutely be returning.

Great Experience overall

We had a very nice stay and will likely return to this hotel but there were a few snags to consider when booking. We checked in and the room wasn't ready so the hotel put a hold for $458 on my card and texted us when our room was ready (that is nice), and then put another $458 (double charged) on my card when I went to the desk to get my room keys. I paid thru Expedia so only owed $158 on property, rest was for incidentals. The next day they put a hold on my card for ~$3,000, I went to the desk and they said its because Expedia hadn't provided their card but not to worry. The next day they actually posted ~$3,500 to my card which again I had to visit the desk and ask for that to be reversed. The resort could really screw someone if they didn't have a high enough card limit and they should work that out with Expedia directly vs charging paid customers. After multiple trips to the front desk it was resolved. Twice I had to go to the front desk to ask for towels. They come into your room and although you've paid for 4 people, leave you 2 washcloths and 3 towels. Once the washcloths never showed up. The hot water mentioned by others was also an issue at peak dinner time showering but was otherwise warm. On the positive side the beach is beautiful and we were always able to find a spot despite not paying for the cabanas. The resort itself was nice and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet and fitness center. Wait for elevators can be long at times but we managed.

It’s a very nice property. I got partial ocean view room- it was great inside. To sit on the balcony was very noisy bc on that side of the building they had other hotels huge ac units that hummed all the time. I was hoping for a relaxing option. So spent more time on the beach in the cabana .

Not worth the $

The room we initially booked was advertised as having a partial ocean view. Our view was mostly of a parking lot. We expressed our disappointment and were upgraded to the most beautiful room with a fantastic view of the beach!

There aren’t enough conveniences … not enough pool chairs for number of guests, service is slow at bar, towels near the cabana were odd, birds attached food at pool, but biggest complaint mostly no service to the beach. Overall a great option for families with small or younger children but if you’re wanting a more adult like experience… there are better options in Clearwater Beach.

The shampoo and soap dispenser in the wall in the shower fell on the ground while in the middle of taking a shower. Never cleaned the balcony table left drinks and bottles on the table for the days we were there.

Electricity in our bathroom was not working. They fixed it, but a pretty big inconvenience when trying to get ready to leave. Lighting in the bathroom is terrible even after it got fixed. Phone did not work. The hot tub is on a beautiful rooftop. During our 3 day stay, it was overrun with unsupervised children the whole time. There are not enough elevators for the number of rooms in the hotel.

Lovely welcome with a glass of champagne and introduction to the property and all of its amenities. Great location! Signs all over the property requesting coverups required in the hotel. Guests paraded through the hotel barefoot with no coverups daily. Also hotel stated it was a non-smoking facility with $500 fines for not following this request Smoking occured daily as it came into our room and there was also vaping at the pool regularly.

Spent a week here, the ocean view was definitely scenic from our room #1629. The hotel is conveniently located next to the beach just a short 2 minute walk across the street. The hot tub and pool are in two seperate floors. However, both have beautiful scenic views of the ocean. I would definitely recommend sundown views which are breathtaking. The staff was friendly. The 16th floor terrace room I booked was not quite up to par as it seemed. The queen mattress i slept on needs to be replaced as it slouched in the middle, mattress coils failing. It was quite uncomfortable after several nights. Overall, i would say this room is a bit overpriced but location is everything. Check out resorts south of Clearwater on Gulf Blvd for cheaper alternatives.

Our room was nice and big for the family with daily housekeeping service. However, we did not get our welcome drink upon check-in and were under the impression we would have complimentary beach umbrella/chairs which was not the case. The pool bar food was underwhelming and we decided to go to other nearby restaurants since the Shor onsite restaurant was overpriced. We have had better Hyatt Regency stays in other parts of the U.S. but for a busy spring break season in Florida, it was fine.

The room had a funky smell. There was nothing in the room that most rooms have such as a do no disturb sign, no take out or restaurant suggestions, not even a pen and paper. No information about room service, no ice bucket, etc.

Not cheap, but definitely a great experience. Hot tube on the 16th floor, a very relaxing of moment of day or evening, no matter cold or warm weather. Could be bigger or adding more hot tubes though, as it is very popular! Great Spa experience. I definitely will go back, and strongly recommend it.

For the best bang of your buck and right in front the beach I’d say you can’t go wrong!

Upon arrival we were notified that our room had to be changed because they overbooked. We had book a king bed because my husband is very tall and long and needs room to stretch. We needed up in two queens which meant we slept in separate beds. The lady checking us in said that it had a better view but we were in a corner and could barely see the ocean. Upon entering our room we noticed the recycle bin had not been change. One of the beds had imperfections, we think there was a broken piece under it. We ordered three drinks from the bar and the charges to our room were $92.80. Oh, and the hot water wasn’t very hot and the heater didn’t start working until after midnight. We paid a lot for our stay at this hotel and honestly were very disappointed. I’m not usually one to write these kind of reviews but my goodness.

Booked a staycation in a 2 bedroom suite for my grad school graduation party. Karen was so accommodating and sweet when checking us in and welcoming my family for a quick visit. A man who helped with our bags and unloading was also wonderful and so friendly. I think his name was Doug? We were on the 10th floor above the pool, and the views of the beach, sunsets, and pool were stunning! The mattress in the master suite left a lot to be desired. Only major complaint is that I wish the pool and hot tub were open a bit later! The pool was fun, the hot tub was just okay; needs restored. Overall, we loved the room and would stay again. Can’t beat the location.

The emergency fire alarm did go off at 7:50 am this morning and we had to walk down 15 flights of stairs with me being heavily pregnant and not much sleep the night before so that was not fun but not their fault, at least it works :)

Our visit to the Clearwater Beach Hyatt hotel was beyond amazing! The staff was incredible, friendly, helpful! The room was clean, spacious and the view of the beach was breathtaking! The pool was beautiful, all amenities were clean and well taken care of! The restaurant food was great! Overall a fabulous place to vacation, would recommend to everyone!!!!!

Fabulous hotel with a wonderful staff of particular mention - we were greeted with champagne by Nick who was very friendly. Eric, over operations was wonderful making he a point to make sure we knew he was available if we needed anything- waiters Zac and Andrew provided exceptional service. It was a wonderful stay - we will be back!

The resort fee is a bit silly— charging for imaginary things (we never got welcome drinks or daily bottled water) or things that don’t enhance your stay or should be included. Hotel seems understaffed. Some things worked well- fast valet, conscientious housekeeping staff. But the breakfast buffet staff were overstretched (like it took 3 people to find the sugar packets). The suite we shared with grandparents was nice- good to have a common area and kitchen. But there needs to be more attention paid to facilities. Two thermostats in our room malfunctioned and needed overnight maintenance to come fix them (thank goodness for the maintenance guy, but he was pretty surly about the whole thing). The iron didn’t work. The replacement we got also didn’t work. Not sure about the third as it was too late to try it.

Nice hotel

First time in Clearwater with my almost five year old and my husband. Loved the kitchenette and the tub in our room along with the heated pool. The surrounding restaurants were a bit loud in the evening but overall it was a comfortable stay and we would absolutely stay here again.

The fridge in our room every few hours has a very high pitched noice. The sauna was never available due to location that also serves private events. For a hotel that says there an resort we did not find any amenities that were included in our very expensive stay. Everything had a fee from parking, $100 breakfest (least you could do is offer free breakfast) and chairs on beach. We have stayed at other resorts that were not all-inclusive and we did not pay for any item I noted above. Otherwise, overall the stay was nice.

As much as you pay for the room, you should offer free parking. It shouldn’t be charged. It should be easier to get access and figure out how to come in and out of the garage then be in told you can’t come in and out when you paid to stay there.

The resort charges we had to pay when checking in were outrages. We ended up paying an addition 600 dollars more.

Great stay!

Staff was excellent. Room was clean. Amenities were great. Only complaints would be the scent machines on my floor that bothered my sinuses. Even worse on second floor for beach exit. Had to hold my breath but came through under my door and bothered me at night. Also, not enough counter space in bathroom due to layout.

Room was dirty and smelled of smoke. Amenities were not offered as stated on website.

Truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had — everything exceeded my expectations!

Beautiful location

My room was absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and beautifully appointed. The kitchen utensils and accessories could be significantly beefed up for those staying longer as I plan to do on my next visit. Check-in was easy, there are nearby restaurants and bars, parking was a breeze, and the property is right on the beach.

We loved the Hyatt. We had to leave to finish our trip in Orlando and we actually bailed on our resort in Orlando before check out to go back to the Hyatt for one more night! It is beyond beautiful and we got upgraded to a suite out of the movies. The views of the ocean are unmatched. Safe, quiet, lots to do. Could never tire of this beach. We will be back.

I stay here every time i visit clearwater beach. It is my favorite place. The staff is wonderful, the food is great and i always feel safe and welcome. The sunset view from the rooftop or even from the pool area is phenominal. Thank you for always providing great rooms and warm hospitality.

Unfortunately, the internet in my room did not work for my entire stay despite numerous calls to the front desk.

Rooms were clean. Hotel had great amenities. Staff was friendly. Beautiful views of the ocean from our room. Conveniently located for quick walking to the marina for excursions and to restaurants as well. Highly recommend!

All was fine except for the mattress. It actually caved in the middle and killed my and my sisters backs.

Beautiful room with gorgeous view. Big, beautiful and clean hotel with a quick walk across street to beach. Gorgeous pool with stunning view of ocean and great spot to catch sunset. Only issue was wifi which constantly went in and out but small issue compared to all the positives. Looking to make a yearly trip here!

The room was spacious and clean, the location was ideal, right across from the beach, and our room had a partial gulf view which was nice. The room was located on the same floor as the pool which was very convenient.

Our stay at the Hyatt was incredible. Easy parking easy access to the beach. Lots of different restaurants. The Hyatt was always clean. Staff was super helpful. Any issues that we had that would actually make an effort to fix it instead of like other hotels where they would just say whatever just a Band-Aid the situation.

Room was clean and staff friendly. The beds weren’t as comfortable as we’d hoped.

Stayed here and had an amazing time. Pool was clean, beach area kept clean and appealing. Rooms were clean and comfy.

Everything closed early like 8pm. We had to go to a nearby hotel just to enjoy a nice beverage and enjoy the outdoor building top patio. One word: BORING except for construction.

Our room was very nice and very clean. The resort was right in the middle of the downtown area. Easy to get to all the shops and restaurants. We did not have a car so we took the trolley to take a day trip down to John’s Pass. Would definitely stay at this resort again.

Great stay again at the Hyatt. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Walking distance to dining, shopping, and the Pier. The views are stunning from the pool deck and the rooftop terrace. Perfect place for our family of 3– traveling with a 3 year old!

the hotel charges too many fees for parking the resort fee is too much. also the rooms smell of humidity some fixtures in the bathroom are rusty the doors too the mat in the room is unsanitary also the bedroom walls are full of dust and the nightstands old broken it seems to me that for a hotel of that category for what they charge they should have all those details in excellent condition. the bathroom had a leak in the tub and it went out to the hallway at first I thought it was because the shower curtain was left open but no after we called maintenance and it was the tub although it had a hole

We came there for our honeymoon. The hotel was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were very clean. The pool was clean a little too salty, but nice and warm and it was just a walk away from the ocean a great place to stay.

Clean property

We had an excellent stay. It was right on the beach and everything that we needed was walkable. The parking garage was a little treacherous to navigate and could use better lighting and a good cleaning.

All prices where well above fair market price for a resort area. Some items such as beach and towl accommodations should be complimentary. It was easier and cheaper to go to the local grocery store (Publix)to get what we needed.

i really thought this was going to be a nice stay. Turns out the property has not been updated in 15 years. AC on our room floor was not working, smelled of urine, just like the parking structure. There was a damp smell to the main room and the AC just circulated it. For the price plus the resort fee, you still had to pay for a chair at the beach which was overun by local drunks. When you are charging $700 a night, the place should be clean. Bare minimum.

What a wonderful stay for my daughter and I! At check-in, Karen made everything simple and quick. She informed us about a kids scavenger hunt, pool side events and more. The view of the beach from the pool was wonderful, but the Sky Deck view at sunset was just breathtaking. I highly recommend this resort and will DEFINITELY be back :)

We had an amazing stay at the Hyatt Clearwater. They say you get what you pay for and what we got was 5 star service throughout. We arrived 2 hours before check in and Alexandra at the reception desk greeted us with such a warm welcome and a glass of champagne. To our surprise and delight she not only checked us in early but gave us a room upgrade! The room and views of the ocean were absolutely breathtaking. We had a little maintenance concern due to the ac system by the manager responded immediately and had the matter resolved in minutes. For such a large hotel, the response time was incredible. The only bad thing I have to say about this stay is that my family has now been spoiled. It’s going to be tough on me to find another hotel in this area that can compete so I guess the next time we visit the area, we’re going to have to stay here.

The view from our room was amazing and it was so nice to be right on the beach! The resort had great accommodations; we especially loved spending time in the pool area.

I jyst love everything

We love it here! It was our second time staying, this time we brought our small children. They loved it too. We were sad to see all the businesses underneath the hotel were boarded up still and there were a lot of random charges that really added up. Other than those two things our vaca was perfect! The beach is amazing, the pool is great and all the staff were very nice too!

The walkway out front of the property was filthy. Dirty needs to be power washed. The landscaping along the walkway needs to be addressed again. I’m sure the Hyatt Regency can afford to do some landscaping and power washing first impressions mean a lot

I try to come at least once a year. I'd never stay anywhere else. Nothing beats the staff and the atmosphere at the Hyatt. Combined with the cleanliness and backdoor beach it's perfect.

Close to beach. Large, but somewhat dated room. No AC in the hall or elevator. House keeping slow to respond when they failed to clean room. Housekeeping did not seak any english, which made it difficult to communicate.

The stay here would've been great if it wasn't for the hidden resort and parking fees charged AFTER booking. Expedia is all about UPFRONT pricing but this ended up being nothing upfront about it. If we would have known we would have to pay $700 after booking, we would've stayed elsewhere.

The check-in/front desk staff was kind, helpful, and professional. Our room was very nice and clean. Loved the pool area and the view. The hotel’s location is perfect to get anywhere on the island. Definitely will stay here again!

I will say the hotel is nice. I do not think you should advertise free drink upon arrival. ( we never recieved one) free 1 hr bicycle ride.. you should mention thstbyou need another app, add a cc etc. THERE ARE ALOT OF FEES, people need to know that chairs are 60.00 ( sun bed/ canooy) i was very frustrated.. we had a premier room. Freezer made hardly any ice, the ac unit was loud, tv remote worked when it wanted. No hand soap on bathroom. 3 towels??? For the price we paid... also room service cane around 930 am we left.. came back at 3 not done.. came back at 5 after pool, NO TOWELS.. no service. Called front desk , came back. Garbage not changed. Sane sheets. I know because of a previous stain. No free in room.movie( you made it seem like we can choose 1 movie) internet in amd out. 1 frying pan.. 3 spoons, 1 knife. PROPERTY IS NICE, but very misleading.. and make sure people know on yop of daily 35.00 resort fee. There is an additional daily of 75.00 charge. The room in my opinion is not premier.. the beds were comfortable abd the blabk out sheets were a plus. Doesnt make uo for the crazy fees and expensive stay. Pool was nice, oh abd please dont advertise free snacks at the pool. All in all ok stsy, but for the price i can go to an all inclusive

Room was gorgeous! Lobby smelled amazing upon entering. Pool was amazing!

Two separate balconies, only one door opened though. Some strange requirement of turning back "towel cards" upon leaving the stay or get charged $50. (mind you, Hyatt pays maybe $2.75 per beach towel and the towel is basically a nice parting gift (don;t make it an ugly reminder). That's a silly way to leave a lasting impression on a Hyatt Member! Fortunately, front desk said its basically not enforced. Sounds like a DOGE finance guy (btw I'm a CFO). The only other complaint was the early closing time of the restaurant. We missed the 8:30 on the dot cut off.
