Limited to none hot water

Booked tru Travelocity the same night. Got to the property and they didn’t hv hot water. The service desk person said it’s been like that for a few days. I didn’t even checked in.

Howard Johnson goes back a long time. Always like the old world charm of the 50’s and 60’s styling. Only one small quirk was my shower knob did not work and it was broken. Fortunately it was stuck on a reasonable temperature to shower and used it as that. Breakfast was quite meager, very small lounge and limited food choices. But I assume it’s because of the limited space that had there. Overall it was alright and would go there again since my beach location in Clearwater was all but overbooked. Thank you.

Room was clean; bed was comfortable; tv didn’t work we noticed it was not plugged in and it seemed it was unplugged because it was the only way to turn it off and on. The remote didn’t work so it was stuck on one channel. The phone in the room didn’t work so couldn’t reach staff. The toilet seat cover was loose. Tightened enough to be able to use.

Unfortunately, the property does not look like the pictures so don’t go by that. The front desk staff is extremely rude every single one. The rooms are old. The towels are old. At the front desk they sell soda and some snacks and the price chart shows reasonable prices, but some of the staff in flights. The prices clearly pockets the money. Did I mention the overcharge and they also won’t let you use the rewards number so you can collect points and you can’t argue with them because then they just threaten yin an undertone that they will kick you out. Do yourself a favor stay somewhere else.

The pool was fantastic! The breakfast selection. As well as our bed was not clean. The head rest was really dirty. There was dust as well.

We arrived and all we wanted to do was get a shower. It turned out the entre hotel did not have hot water. The front desk said he could not refund our money unless it was approved by the owner. If you like hookers and gang members making drug deals you’ll love this dump. Accidentally booked it and tried to cancel 5 minutes later and they wouldn’t refund my $210 for a two day stay. Very upset. Stay away!!!

The staff did not speak or understand English, very hard to communicate what was needed. My husband fell in the very slick bathtub 4/13/2026 and is still hurting on 4/22/2026 This accident was reported to the front desk and nothing was done.

A place for when frugality feels more important than quality. Nice mattress, not so nice pillows, and pretty clean where it counts. The decor will please fans of SpongeBob SquarePants. We slept well after cranking up the A/C to reduce the humidity in the room. The low price allowed me to splurge on an expensive dinner in Tampa, and it was neat to be able to buy a can of coke for only fifty cents at the front desk.

The toilet paper and tissues were of very poor quality. The headboard of the bed in my room was all torn up. The bed was not made properly (top sheet on top of blanket instead of visa-versa) no coffee available until 7:00 am. I will NOT book a room in this motel for next year's Highland Games.

We were pleasantly surprised just how nice everything and everyone was for our one night stay. Only point would be the availabilty of a restarant within walking distance. But HOJO has no co trol over that :)

This property was so rundown and dirty, I had to cut our stay short by 3 days staying only as long as I had to for our spring training games, Sunday and Tuesday. The man at the front desk was very unpleasant. I was definitely shocked when I went into the room, especially since it also had the Wyndham name attached to it. The day I checked in, I went back to the office and told them we'd be leaving on Wednesday and asked if we could get our money back for the days we didn't stay. I was told since it was a 3rd party booking, no money would be returned, which was very disappointing.

It was a very cold night, the heater didn’t work and there were no blankets. Just a top sheet. Tiny cushions for pillows. No sofa/love seat, just two plastic chairs. Walls missing paint, headboard ripped. Needs major renovation. Also heavy traffic noise.

Very dated, no amenities. Went to get coffee at 6:24, very unfriendly person at the desk told us very firmly that breakfast wasn’t until 6:30. All we wanted was coffee, she said it wasn’t ready and again informed us that breakfast was at 6:30. No coffee pot in room. Toilet seat was about to fall off of the toilet. We were able to screw it on a little tighter. Will NEVER stay there again!!!

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean. The breakfast was adequate. The noise was a problem. The conversations outside sounded like they were in my room.

Staff was courteous but room had some issues. Air conditioner was very loud, made it hard to sleep. Missing seal at bottom of exterior door allowed hot air to come in and could allow insects to crawl in.

No coffee or water bottles in room. No gym. Hard floor no carpet, very noisy. $125/ night for a $60 room. It was clean despite the shortcomings.

Check in was easy. Large older but clean room. No hot water or water pressure in the shower. Surprised as the sink had excellent pressure and hot water.

Desk staff was courteous. The room was clean but odd. The beds were comfortable but the headboards were covered with peeling vinal or leatherette. Other issues: 1. There was a wastebasket in the bathroom by the toilet and a second one near the desk by the front door. But there should also have been one by the sink in the dressing area outside of the bathroom. 2. There were no ceramic cups near the microwave area, forcing you to heat up water for tea or coffee in styrofoam cups. 3. I reserved through Expedia after buying my plane ticket. The room was reserved through the day following my flight home and there was no way for the motel to correct it. Expedia never answered its phone and there was no place to send by email a request for a correction. 4. The grounds of the hotel were a mess behind the road construction, so it was an adventure trying to find the entry to the grounds.

Small double beds. No towel racks to hang a hand towel. Tiny tiny bathroom. Very nice staff. Loved the retro look from the 60's. No safety bar in tub that was very slippery to get in and out of.

It was supposed to be non-smoking and you could smell the cigarette smoke. It had saturated into everything in the room. The manager was great. He tried to use a spray and take it away.

The room was filthy! My feet constantly got dirty from the floor. Bed skirt was filthy, sheets were 30 years old, mattress was disgusting (thank god for the mattress pad), found hairs from other people on the bathroom floor, mattress springs were poking through into my hip, a family was living in the rooms around the corner from mine and they were smoking pot constantly. This place served its purpose for somewhere to sleep and shower but I will never stay there again.

When we fot there the staff was nice. Easy check in. Room was clean for the most part, but unfortunately our room was infested with roaches. Every couple minutes my husband was killing roaches we just decided to check out the same day we came.

My initial room #210 had a filthy table. The room is located on the south side next to the Kia service center. Service people get in vehicles and blow the horn up to 9 times as they are driving cars through the lot and into the garage from 0730-1900. Not to mention the hot rods going up and down 19. Management put me in another room#230 in the back on the north side. It was considerably more peaceful. On January 23rd, 2026 I notice the return of water supply in the toilet bowl was yellow. I filled a cup of water from the faucet and it was yellow as well. I took photos of the yellow water. The water wasn’t that color when I first checked in. However I think the hotel did work on the line but they never informed me about the water supply. The rooms are in fair condition with some items having damage as it appears to be original decor. The pillows are miniature flat pillows. The water issue was unacceptable. I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone due to the yellow water incident. Also, I would hate to see someone stuck in a room on the south side next to the Lokey Kia service center. I almost forgot, the doors to the units do not fully close. The doors bounce back and forth in the lockset. The staff at the hotel was polite.

Big shout out Front desk I believe Manager. I believe his name is Walter or Hector. Not sure. He was very attentive seem to be taking care of various problems or situations with the smile on his face. The man definitely can multitask while keeping consistent service. he is definitely an asset for you.

The room was fine for pricepoint. Bed was comfy but bedding was dirty. Breakfast was pretty minimal. Coffee was good but creamer in glass jar (liquid packets) were old and chunky. Room did smell like smoke at first.

The floors need to be cleaned. The chairs are not comfortable. One of the lights could only be turned off an on by plugging and unplugging it into the wall socket. The lights need to be on switches. The switch by the door should be connected to a light so when the customer walks into the room in the dark they can flip the switch to turn on a light.

Great staff. Construction made it hard to find the entrance to the hotel. Room smelled like cigarette smoke. (Room was booked as a non-smoking room.) We chose to leave our reservation early because the entire hotel seemed sketchy. When we left, all of our belongings smelled like smoke.

I didn't like this staff the staff is a bunch of ducking spit heads walking the building during a downpour and they tell me how I got to give them the deposit don't have cash deposit because pucking Expedia didn't tell me I had to walk around with a bunch of money in my pocket but apparently you have to have a bunch of money in your pocket in order to stay at the bucking piece of skit motel so yeah luck you

Sheets were stained. No way was I going to cover myself with that. There water one the floor, don’t know if it was because of the hard rain but I asked for a mop to dry it and front desk gave me towels because they don’t use a mop. Do they clean the floor with the same towels that we use to dry ourselves? No my best option to stay. Sorry

Room was filthy. Photos are the wet floor by the bathroom, dirt on the table surface, dead insect on the bedside table, the small lizard on the floor, and the wad of human hair in the bed. They gave me another room, but wow! Coffee dispenser was broken. The place smelled like beer. The actual two rooms I saw looked nothing like the online pictures.

Honestly I did not anticipate much for the cost but the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast could’ve had more options other than bagel/toast, waffles, cereal and yogurt. Juice machine was broken and other beverages were being sold at a cash only option (not very practical in these days) nonetheless it was a short trip and it sufficed. The pool was very clean and patio furniture looked all brand new. Overall the staff was great and whoever cleans deserves a raise because the room smelled great and was extremely cleaned!

The name of the property does not include that it is an INN. I thought i was booking a hotel not an INN. The sheets on the bed were not clean. I saw a large stain on them. The chairs in the room for seating were also heavily stained. I had to place a towel down before sitting. The front desk was pleasant but i felt misled overall by the Expedia post.

There was a 3mm sharp piece of glass that pierced my finger while I was sleeping on the bed at night. I told the receptionist and showed him the piece of glass, he threw it away. Then he went up to my room with me to check my bed and said that maybe the laundry was not careful.

Room had mold on bedding, lamp and ceiling. Room had an overall damp feeling. Clothes and towels never dried. Condensation constantly on the table. Front desk did offer to change but the 2nd room had a bad smell upon entering, so I just stayed. But should've changed because I was never able to really get "comfortable" (stayed 3 nights). Following morning My son had bug bites, not sure if it was bed bugs, it could've very well just been a mosquito. Either way, not fun trying to keep a 5 year old from scratching. I ended up having a few bites the next day, but again could've just been a mosquito in the room. Fridge and microwave was a plus. Pool looked refreshing, but didn't get a chance to experience. Staff was nice and everyone was always working.

Door wasn’t locked upon arrival and wouldn’t lock when door closed like traditional hotel doors. Left an hour after arriving to find a safer hotel.

Facility is dated. Bathroom was dark cracks on the ceiling and mismatched paint to cover repairs. Double queen room only had 2 pillows per bed and the pillows were horrible. Only two towels in a 4 person room. I was able to get more at the desk. HoJo’s used to be a staple of places to stay but this one does not live up to its legacy. Oh snacks, laundry items, missing toiletries are cash only.

I enjoyed the stay so much that I went back the following week. Oh, and the price was extremely reasonable in my opinion. I’ve stayed in a few pretty awful hotels over the years that cost considerably more than what I paid per night at this Howard Johnson’s.

The property was full of sketchy people. I was swimming with my kids and there was a man that would not stop staring at us with a creepy smile. This was not a family place. There was another person smoking weed at the pool while we were there. Then a different lady fighting with someone in a hotel room that could be heard on the street outaide of room who then later speed off dangerously in a mini van. The hotel did not have breakfast other than bananas a a little frosted flakes. Overall the experience was awful. Could sleep all night the floor of the room was filthy. And to top it all off I got charged twice for a one night stay. We left early from the room and I have not been able to get a refund for overpaying. This is not a place to stay with a family. There were also not places to get a bite to eat anywhere nearby.

Lock on the door didn’t work. Sheets dirty. Old soap left in bathroom. Lights didn’t work. Sketchy, sketchy people staying there. Hard to navigate around. Water didn’t get hot.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The room I had was nice and cool when I walked in and there weren’t any off putting smells. Staff was polite and helpful. They sent an email to me asking what time I would be leaving so house keeping doesn’t come and knock on your door while you’re still sleeping or getting ready. Though it wasn’t cosmetically perfect I’d definitely stay there again for the price and comfort.

I should have known that the lower price should had been a sign that this was not going to be good. The pictures i looked at when booking were obvoliously very old. The room was not clean and was in poor shape. This hotel needs a remodel or at the very least cleaned up. There were cigarette burns on the bathroom vanity. The floor was filthy. Morning checkout could not come soon enough.

This has to be the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at and I travel. Kudos to the staff and management and keep up the good work.

Older property, room was clean, better than expected for price

It was not very clean. Feet where dirty when walked on the floor after a shower. Had to walk around in shoes. Dust on the shelves where my fisnce put his clothes. They never made the bed. Towels where so worn out. Wouldn’t stay again.

For the location name Howard Johnson by Wyndham and the amount of the room the expectations were set wayyyyy higher than what we actually got. The room was very out dated, our sheets had stains on them, the headboard damaged and esthetically not pleasing in any way, shape or form. Not, worth nearly what we paid for two nights. The staff pure was amazing nevertheless and the top patio platform was nice especially at night being able to sit out, enjoy the breeze and watch the cars ride by. Key reminder life is what you make so we made the most of our entire trip whereas bush gardens was the plan and we did just that which by the way was about 45mins out.

I couldn't even stay in this place, got in and took a shower and those towels weren't even white, they were yellowish color and the bed sheets didn't look clean either. didn't even bother arguing about it, just looked for another hotel and left

We had a room for 4 people and was only given 1 wash cloth and 2 towels. We were told we wouldn’t be able to get more until later on. I went out and purchased my own towels and wash clothes. The bathroom

Feels like a motel out of the 70s and 80s. That being said the room was very clean, they offered plenty of services, and were very helpful when I needed assistance. Was very nice of them to include a lot of TV channels too! (I'm a hockey fan and was able to watch playoff hockey :))

Decent for the price. First room had visible dead roaches and a few live ones partying under the ac. Brought it to the front desk attention. We were able to get another room roach free.

We really enjoy staying here. It’s our 3rd time and we love it. However, we were disappointed in the breakfast. When we first started coming we had hot breakfast. Every year it has changed. The selections are slim and not very appealing. I wish they could have pastries, sausage to go with the waffles. Just a little better variety.

So it was a little deceiving based on the pictures provided. I expected to look a little better in person, but it definitely has more of a motel vibe vs hotel. That being said, the room itself wasn’t bad. My room in particular did not have a Smart TV, which would’ve been nice. It did offer WiFi, fridge, microwave, neat end tables and lamps with power outlets and USB ports built in. I did like that. Unfortunately, there was A LOT of construction going on and the main entrance is easy to miss because of this. Of course, this did lead to a noticeable increase in noise. But this is not the fault of the hotel. Just wanted to mention so people know what to expect. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The front desk, the housekeeping are just wonderful. All in all, I actually would stay here again. It’s not bad, I’ve certainly stayed in worse. But there’s room for improvement.

Its definitely a motel, and not a hotel. The entire establhmemt felt old, dingy, and well past time for renovation. The bed was very firm with 3 very small mismatched pillows on a king. There were things and stains all over the walls that i refused to further investigate. There were gaps in the flooring of the bathroom. The shower curtain was stained and ripped. The desk area was peeling and stained. The good points: the ac was nice and cold. The sheets and bedding appeared cleaned. The shower itself although very old with mismatched tile was clean and the water pressure was nice.

I don't recommend, I didn't hang around long enough to use the bed. Undesirable hanging around.

The price and services was fair for nightly rate.

If you looking for a place to crash and enjoy Tampa this is your place. If you are expecting a 5 star location and experience you have other choices in Clearwater. For the value it works. Breakfast is a bit light in choices but works.

The place needs renovation.the bathroom was awful and it’s like a low class motel

This hotel is extremely outdated. The furniture and bed are deteriorating, the towels and bedsheets were soiled, and to top things off, when it rained, water steamed in from under the door, which I got stuck cleaning up because they were under-staffed.

The floors were tile but the room chairs were metal so every time someone in the room above us moved a chair, the noise was terrible!!! The waffle maker worked!!

The rooms seem to be dated and require upkeep/renovation in comparison to the many other hotels I've been to. The pictures are very outdated.

Was not pleased with the odor of the room. Musty smell. Headboard was not attached to one of the beds. The mini fridge was super mini. Microwave was very small. Towels had stains in them. Floors were filthy. Cabinets were screwed shut in bathroom.

A reasonable price

Location is convenient to get to Clearwater area towns, beach and other attractions. I suggest you don't get a room facing the road, as the road noise is excessive (sirens, loud cars and trucks). Breakfast is very limited. Biscuits and gravy, bagels to toast, a few containers of yogurt, cold cereal. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly. Cleaning crew we interfaced with didn't speak or understand English.

Rooms were dirty, had to ask for our floor to be mopped as it was disgustingly dirty, towels were completely thread bare and only had two in our room. When we asked a maid for two more her response was that she would have to contact the office for permission to do so. Are you kidding me? Also has roaches in the room, thank goodness we were only there in the evenings. Don’t waste your money on this facility!

Basically, the hotel was OK. I understand that they need to make sure that the person using the card is in fact the owner of the card. But retention of my photo ID is not required by the law. What I strongly object to is their requirement of pictures of my photo ID that they retain. I view this as a serious breach of my personal ID protection.

Lobby was in need of paint. Room was clean. Did not get fresh towels each day. Very poor breakfast choices. Had a sign threatening to ban breakfast privileges if food was not eaten there. Coffee was fine. Surprisingly no orange juice was offered. It was ok to stay there but I would not come again.

Surprisingly a very good stay. Looks old on the outside but the rooms have been updated and are very spacious

The hotel was on a busy road that is currently under construction so it's a bit of an eyesore. However, the room was clean and it had ample space for 3 of us. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful when we asked for eateries in the area. A bit overpriced but I guess it's based on its location. We only needed it for one night and it was fine. At least we got some rest.
