Clarion Inn & Suites Central Clearwater Beach

Room had a bug in it. TV did not have a list of stations. Had to figure out how to find channels. Bedroom A/C had loud hum. Had to turn it off to sleep. Pool has mold on top edges. Innkeeper upgraded our room to a suite 182. Excellent help.

Staff was nice and friendly, the pool area could be maintained better and the breakfast options were limited.

Drove 17 hours...finally get there...spend 1 night and then they kicked me and my family out of the hotel because of an issue with hotels.com regarding our dog. Website said it was a dog friendly room and then they said it wasn't. They were very rude. Will never use a Clarion hotel again

We had a good stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The only problem was with the air conditioner maintaining the temp which we finally figured it out. We would stay there again.

Nice cost effective place for two nights in Clearwater. It’s a budget hotel and my expectations reflect that - staff are very kind accommodating and breakfast is decent with real English tea bags, decent coffee, toast, eggs, waffles. Location is fine if you have a car but you probably wouldn’t book this location if you don’t drive. The pool and hot tub was nice too. The rooms smelt damp and the air con was VERY noisy but otherwise, all good

DO NOT STAY HERE EVEN IF ITS FREE!! This place is absolutely horrible. The first horrible room had no hot water and bugs. Then I called to make them put us in a different room. Then I decided to pay and extra 30 bucks for a suite that I was told was updated and brand new. Which it was. The room was nicer and had hot water. The next day I woke up more bugs in my new room. I also woke up before my alarm to my room shaking. A group of adults blasting rap music with every other word being the N word and all other kinds of swearing at the pool. I was annoyed but got over it. I decided to go to the pool and hang out and just get over the horrible music they were blasting. I asked for extra towels and the hotel said they wouldn’t have any until later. I went back a few hours later and they never had towels. The worst part was that there were other adults at the pool with about 15 very young kids being forced to listen to this loud music full of profanities. When I called the front desk to complain the woman hung up on me. I’m assuming she didn’t want to hear complaints. I travel frequently and this is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel.

The toilet handle had to be held to flush at all and it clogged very easily. That being said, when I reported the clogged toilet a security guard came and fixed it. The staff that I interacted with was very nice and friendly so staff gets a big thumbs up. I would wait until the renovations are all done to book here.

We had to upgrade to a suite because the first floor rooms did not measure up to the ad photos. They only renovated the part of the hotel that they show in the photos. The first floor rooms look like a very old motel. The hotel is across from the freeway. So first floor motel type rooms are probably very noisy.

Room was really run down an old but they keep it was ok a no other options because everything was sold out! There was a dead roach on the floor when we arrived I ended up bleaching the whole bathroom and floor! Pool had ducks swimming in it an that was a turn off for me an the breakfast was ok just check the date the yogurt was over a week old gross lol but if your in a rush I guess it's ok! I don't like the out door thing was so uncomfortable being it was me an my girls I did not know untill after I researched an saw it was out door I tried to change an I was stuck... we booked from the east coast for the BTS concert an when I arrived I could not change options because it was sold! But yah to guys siting in front of my door when we arrived from the concert was the most eerie thing a was not at all happy with that! Definitely research!

Marcy relocated my sister and me because my sister has asthma. She was awesome! I will say beds are comfortable and the location is prime (Costco, Sam's Club & Target are super close). Beautiful lobby! Unfortunately, cleanliness is a problem. Whatever is used to clean the rooms is overpowering. Rooms are outdated (specially for the price), but the hotel is being updated/ renovated slowly. Wifi wasn't the best so when I had a video conference call, it lagged and had to wait for the connection to improve. Breakfast can definitely be better. All I ate was eggs and maybe one mini waffle (no bacon or potatoes). I started skipping it altogether. Coffee needs improvement as well. I spent 4 days/ 3 nights so felt disappointed.

Not a good experience. We returned to room after an early morning walk, Water from shower head was a trckle! Not enough water to get a big toe wet. Almost zero pressure at sink, with blackish water puffs when turned to hot. Toilet would not flush. First visit to front desk, attendant didn’t seem to have clue of who to contact for an assist. At about 8:30AM we told front desk we would need some resolution by 2PM to get ready for a wedding that afternoon. After a visit with family, we returned to room just before 2PM. Front desk had done NOTHING. Same issue, not water worth anything in room. Front desk had not contacted a manager or any “maintenance” type personnel. NOTHING. At around 2:30PM they finally got ahold of the manager, who approved a room move. In 5 hour span they did nothing at all to help. Bet they didnt miss their lunch break though. a Budget hotel, yes. Service of front desk, absolute Garbage !

The mattress in the room was in very poor condition & i could feel something sticking up in the mattress (a coil?) that I had to try to sleep around. The sink in the room was so low that i felt like i needed to get on my knees to feel like i could access it. Also, the water pressure was so low in the morning we opted not to shower. I realize you are remodeling, which is needed, but obviously this room has not yet been done. If i visit again, I would most likely look for better accommodations. Im just glad i was only staying the night & not any longer.

Would recommend..Short walk to Bus Stop to bring you to Clearwater Beach..Bus to Clearwater Ferry..Short Walk to Super Target..Short Walk to Great Restaurants..We stayed 8 nights..Couldn't Ask for better staff..Excellent Hot Breakfast..Pool and Hot Tub Very Clean..Didn't need to rent car as we thought because we Flew in from Western Mass...Bus brings you everywhere...Jolley Trolley is also a Excellent option to get around Clearwater Beach and surrounding Town...We Definitely would Stay there again...Alan & Kathy....

The property has gone under some remodeling and is very nice. The staff is friendly. And the rooms are clean. I arrived at 3pm to check in unfortunately check in time is 4pm. I was allowed to use the pool and hot tub in the mean time. The complemteray breakfast was nice and check out time is not till 12pm.

We had a very nice stay at Clarion Inn & Suites in Clearwater, FL. Breakfast was very nice with a good variety. Staff was wonderful. Location was nice. Grandkids loved the pool area.

When we looked at the pictures of the property we thought the hotel had rooms with indoor hallway. We were given a room (that was a suite with door locked) with outside door even though we asked if there was indoor room. Room was in poor condition (baseboard off wall in bathroom). We reported to staff at desk and she moved us to a more updated room with outside door. Next time I will call property beforehand regarding indoor hallway.

I have never had a worst hotel experience. I got about 3 dozen bedbug bites in my single overnight, which almost 24 hours later are itchy, swollen and inflamed. I got very little sleep overnight because of the itchiness and the overwhelming musty smell near/in the bed. In addition, the room was not clean (strong smell of urine in the bathroom when we arrived late in the evening) and there were mold stains in the bathroom. I would not recommend this hotel at any price. I hate to complain or request changes, but now I really wished i had followed my gut and turned around when I first saw the room.

Bed was comfy The location was terrible, right off the highway and you can’t get in and out easily. My room location was terrible. Blood stains on the sheets. Bug crawling on me during the night. The pool closed at 9.

The hotel is dated. They are in the process of remodeling. I had fruit flies in my room, probably from water drains. Also saw a couple of water bugs crawling around. Had maintenance spray. Housekeeping only changes towels and bedding on request. For the money, I think hotels in general need to do better. The staff was very nice.

You heard everything in the morning outside the room. My father’s room had a bunch of knats flying around.

The room looked nothing like the picture on the website. The room was musty smelling, old and out dated. There was mold on the ceiling, the bathroom bottom baseboard was rubber that was stapled to the wall but part of it was broken off the wall. We notified the front desk about the bathroom but didn’t see the mold til the next day. There was no tv service. Horrible for the expensive price for one night. I would never go there again.

There's so some work that needs to be done. The place is being renovated. It will be nice when it's done. It is within waking distance to Bay Care Park and restaurants. Nice for spring training.

You have to request housekeeping ( garbages emptied new towels ) I did not realize until day 3 I requested for two days and then they did not come. They did come on day 6 . We were leaving on day 7 . I would not stay there again

Nice and clean hotel, close proximity to BayCare ballpark where we were going. Pool and hot tub were clean and the little bar and grill was great for drinks and snacks Only complaint was the hot water in the shower, barely got to mild warm on our second day

Mattress hard, pillows small and hard, noise from somewhere in ventilation system kept me up most of the night. Sounded like a broken exhaust fan in another room grinding away!

We've stayed here annually for the last four or five years. The first year we thought about not returning, but each year since there have been significant improvements. This year, with a fresh coat of paint and several renovated rooms, it was our best experience yet!

The hotel is in the process of renovation which I can appreciate but the staffing is inadequate. The check in process took 40 minutes and the room was not well cleaned, definitely not the kind of place to go barefoot. The staff that was present worked hard. No functioning elevator for heavy suitcases which needed to be carried upstairs. The pool area is nice.

It was very convenient to the places I had planed to go . Staff was great , very clean and updated , the grounds were very well kept . If you are going to the Clearwater area this is a must stay . I also had my 2 dogs with me , they needed a vaca also .

Room was in need of an update; bathtub shower was dangerously slick. Pool was nice although heated water was still somewhat chilly. Having a lounge was nice, but the cooler did not chill the beer. Breakfast wasn't very good-cold eggs and sausage. We understand the facility is going through renovations, but we decided to shorten our stay by a couple days. Staff was courteous.

Plenty of towels and bed was very comfortable. For the money this was not a great hotel. There were holes in wall in bathroom , I was afraid bugs would come out of. Food in the grill bar was microwaved junk. TV did not work in my room.

Stayed for 3 nights for trip to spring training baseball. Fit our needs. Nothing fancy but was well maintained for the price point and staff was wonderful.

This was the perfect location for Spring training. It was recenlty remodeled. Pool was nice two ducks come to visit. Only complaint is a little dirty as far as like light switches and door handles not wiped down. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Coffee not my fav. Close location to everything. Loved the stay there.

Went to the bar and grill after a very long day of travel- a few people sitting at the bar and two other small tables with people. Bartender/server said it was “going to be awhile” before she could even get to us. They were NOT busy. We sat for a bit and then left, unfed.- did not even ask if we wanted something to drink. Rooms had been “remodeled”- shower updated and yet left a really rusty handle holder? In the wall of the shower- dangerous- have photos. Relatively quiet and clean otherwise

Room was clean but needs some updating. They are in the process of renovation and the lobby/reception/dining/bar area is very nice. I would assume the regular rooms are next. Good parking and well lit lot. Breakfast was ok. Onerall not bad for the price. Staff was very nice to us.

It was a little confusing to be placed in the very back on the very end where there were no other people as a single woman traveling alone. In the end I appreciate it because last night there were obviously people above me and I could hear every step and movement they made. The room was very clean. I had to get an extra roll of toilet paper and a box of tissues as both roles and the box were very low. The heater went out and they were very quick to send maintenance with a replacement unit. Replacement unit had great Heat but unfortunately was so noisy I had to sleep with earbuds playing music and pillows jammed up against my head. Sounded like a plane taking off and Landing. I will probably stay here again because of his location and price. I might be more of a cast and picky about my room and maybe having to stay longer for medical reasons. The shower water pressure was surprisingly strong. Usually they're all low flowing you can't get the soap out of your hair. This one was too much and was sandblasting the skin off my back. I don't understand why hotel rooms are so difficult to get right. If you are looking for a consultant who would have really good advice regarding designing rooms for women please reach out to me! I am looking for work. My apologies for the st very low.

The room was good for the price and is only about a 10 minute drive to Clearwater beach. Free parking and free breakfast are the main benefits, and resort fees were only $13 dollars for 5 days. I’ve stayed several places on the beach, but if you’re looking for a budget friendly hotel close to everything, this is a good choice, just get a rental car.

I was not informed about the ongoing renovations prior to my arrival. I was offered an upgrade to a suite for $30/night, which I paid because the clerk explained that there was a private bedroom with a door as part of the suite. When I got to my room, it was simply a larger room, no private bedroom. Due to the room recently being renovated, there was a strong paint smell in the room. They didn't change the front door to the room and there was a large gap at the bottom allowing light and hallway noise to come through. There was no place in the bathroom for me to place my towel while I showered. I felt like complaining to the front desk, but was simply too tired to try to do anything about it. I was there for two nights and just needed a place to shower and sleep. I got just that.

The rooms was clean bed is nice and comfy and the check out time being 12pm is the best it gives you time to relax and they offer complimentary breakfast until 930 am I haven’t had time to try but it’s nice to know it’s there. Only complaint I have is the tv needs to be updated to a smart tv an have better Wi-Fi

Extremely noisy, loud music and partying in the parking lot until 1-2:00 am. It was terrible, couldn’t sleep for three nights in a row. Can’t believe security didn’t put a stop to it!

The hotel is under construction for upgrading. No clear way to get to the outer buildings. Large group of people were drinking and playing music in the parking lot. Husband wasn’t allowed to bring breakfast to me in the room.

False advertisement about the property, no game room it has been a vending machine room since September of 2024. Breakfast was cold, over cooked. The staff wasn't very pleasant to see people coming to the breakfast. They all actually had a dirty look on their faces.

It was a good stay, pleasant check in and appreciated being able to have our dog. It was quiet in our room and the room was accessible for my mother in law using a wheel chair. That was a huge plus.

it was alright but not the best. Room smell smoking. Breakfast is good but can be better. Breakfast staff person was not very friendly. The young receptionist girl was very sweet and great. Around the hotel is the highway so not so much great view. Free parking and the pool area looks great.

When you wait 30 minutes in the lobby while the staff figures out the reservation,( prepaid ) and then you finally get to your room and you're greeted with a cigaret burn hole in the middle of the comforter. Not the best start to your two day stay.

Room was very musty smelling

The property is well worn and not cared for. The corridors are dirty. I was there for 10 days and my room was only serviced once. I was told it was every 4 days which was already stretching it, but then they did not even do that. Cockroach in the room. The only upside was the bed was newer and comfortable and plenty of hot water for a good shower. It was cheaper than some but you really do get what you pay for

The hotel is in great proximity to shops. The morning breakfast was excellent and well served by staff. The room was very clean and comfortable.

There was a man in the parking lot 2 nights in a row that came and stood by my car and when I didn’t get out he started texting but didn’t move… I was so scared

We stayed for a night and the suite was amazingly comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay again next time we visit Clearwater.

A few of the staff members as well as I lost money in the vending machines and then the front desk girl originally said 3 PM. I tried to explain my aunt has Alzheimer’s, but within minutes, Joe was rudely banging on the door as if he was law enforcement told me I don’t care that you’re not dressed. I don’t care that you don’t have your teeth in get out. But once I got my things out of the room with a threat of calling the police, I feel grateful at least at the end of the day. They kept my things safe and I appreciate that very much.

We enjoyed our stay and we're very happy with everything. Our room was newly remodeled on the bottom floor and right next to the pool and jet pool. The pool was very clean and refreshing, as was the jet pool. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely book there again 😀

Friendly staff, comfy beds, just furniture very dated and curtains had holes in them letting lots of light during the night. Very noisy area. Otherwise alright for a quick stay.

My reservation was changed and canceled by general manager. I had it booked for over two month. I did get my two nights but it was a stressfull hwadache. The girls at the front desk were sweet and did their best. I am waiting on a refund from Expedia. I had to pay for the second night again since they botched my stay.

When I went to check in the front desk kept saying my room number out load. I had to go to the front desk three times because they were upgrading there door looks and she kept putting me in a room that was not completed with the new door locks and would not open. They finally gave me a room by the pool. However the ac was broken and it was so hot all night. The next day they put a new ac in my room. The maintenance man and the maids were so nice and helpful. Would not stay there again.

Hotel needs a remodel. Hotel is used to house local people. Police we re called do to a disturbance.

There was a roach in the bathroom when we returned one afternoon. And the bathroom had a peeling baseboard.

The room smelled, sheets had blood stains, mold in tub, floor full of dirt you couldn’t walk in your socks. The customer does not come first, I called for assistance and they never came. The price was very reasonable, but now I understand why. I would not take my wife and kids here. Sorry for writing this bad review but it’s the truth and if I can help another I will. I hope this gets you to clean up the facility then maybe things can change and the reviews will change as well. GOD Bless you

The staff was nice but Everything is old and outdated. The rooms are dingy. Will never stay there again.

Cons: Lots of little things made for rough edges: had to wedge a folded-up paper sack behind the bed to keep it from banging against the wall every time I got in or out of the bed, nasty water, shower curtain rail installed poorly, so that the shower curtain wouldn’t stay closed, loud A/C unit, no card showing available tv channels, and as a solo traveler, it felt less than secure.

Staff/front reception was very welcoming and professional. Hotel is under renovation in some areas. Pool area was very clean and inviting. My room needed some updating, (i.e. yellowish paint, stains on some walls etc) to make it more appealing, and some general dusting but they did remodel shower, water was hot and pressure was good. Bedding was very nice. I think there may have been some remnants of mold either in carpet or air conditioner unit needed cleaning. Sinuses went bezerk and head stayed stopped up all night. A little more deep cleaning and updates and this hotel would be very nice.

Couldn’t get into room with first set of keys. Had to get 2 more that didn’t work finally maintenance had to come up there and bring another key. Door wouldn’t close all the way. Bathroom door wouldn’t open or shut either. Ended up leaving early and going home. Staff was great. Room was not

There were bedbugs in the room, hair on the bed they moved us to, and dried blood stains on the covers in the third replacement room we were issued.

There is no elevator. Under construction, noisy. Crew with headphones on singing loudly outside my door. Felt very unsafe in area. Police were called 2nd night due to gunshots fired. Not as pictured at all!

This is like a motel 6 not a nice place. No mattress protector, no pillow protectors. Linens were clean. Shower wouldnt drain because the drain stopper wouldnt go up. The water pressure is almost none and the water smelled of sewage. Like maybe the water heater needs cleaned out or some attention. The lobby was not the cleaniest, needs to be updated especially the floor.

Only stayed a night. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffett was delicious. For a cheap stay, it was worth every penny.

Room had a lot of roaches in it, and I killed about 4 of them. I ended up leaving and losing out on my money. The front desk were very nice about the situation and did offer me a different room. I politely declined because if one room has roaches, they all do. I'm not willing to risk bringing one home with me

My room was very nice and it was big, the place is kept clean the breakfast area in the front desk. It’s really nice. I wanna command the 4 to 12 crew, Miss Brooke, she was very nice to me and my special-needs child and she treated my child and I with a lot of respect and kindness. I liked her a lot The 8 to 4 crew. The only person I saw there she was OK that’s all I’ll say the girl in the breakfast room Nicole was so nice to me and my child. She was very caring and what we needed both on Saturday and Sunday she was wonderful. I like to commend Miss Brooks and miss Nicole for their professionalism and kindness they show to me in my child. I will recommend this location to others. Thank you.

The property is in dire need of a renovation.There was trash outside of some of the rooms. Cigarette butts were everywhere.The rooms are rundown.our sink was backed up.The maintenance person arrived after several calls to the front desk. He said it was repaired. But,now it drained a little faster. The complimentary breakfast was very good. Always replenished. But,1 of the waffle makers was out of order.No big deal. Pool was very small.and,very over crowded. Staff were very polite.and,did the best they could.under those conditions.At one time.Clarion hotels were one of the nicest hotels to visit.Not anymore !

Check in was quick and the room was ok also. Quiet at night was not bad for a 1 night stay.

The room was old and worn. You could see daylight thru door. The door sweep was basically non existent. Door was dirty. Tub drain cover wouldnt stay up while showering. Toilet seat loose. Toilet leaked. The matress seemed 20 years old. Matress had a few brown smears on side of it. Fitted sheet covered it though. Cigarette butts all over the place near pool. Breakfast for 6 mornings were repetative. Juice machine broken entire stay. Was not the most rested stay weve had and im 65. Been to quite a few different hotels. Room attendants didn't speak english and the towels were almost non existant.

Room was clean, exterior was not. Bed was too soft. Breakfast was ok, need more choices. Service desk was helpful, had to get keys reprogrammed multiple times.

Me and my family stayed at this location two weekends in a row! We had a great time. My on definitely enjoyed the pool, kiddie pool and the jacuzzi ( hes 4yrs old). We will definitely be back to visit again. Its our new little getaway spot.

The property was great for the money. 20 minutes to the beach. Check in was slow (clerk said there was an emergency meeting), 3 cockroaches "palmetto bugs" ran by me in the lobby. The room had black out drapes, comfortable bed and pillows. Only maid service if you asked. The area below me by the staircase had dumpsters full of trash in the walkway to the pool. I always bring a fan for white noise to block out the sound. Music from a guest was blasting mexican music in the parking lot. The complimentary breakfast was sufficient, eggs, waffles, toast, yogurt cereal. All in all I would stay again. Thank you.

Needs paint and updating. Seedy looking characters parked in parking lot in back area that made me concerned for my safety. Reported to desk - response was he would have to notify security. Never saw any action taken. Would not stay with family.

Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean, the pool was great and my granddaughter loved the toddler pool! Very quiet and bed was comfortable. All in all, great location and fantastic price! Would stay here again.

I would like to say the trip started off rough. We were women up at 1030pm because they had given someone else our room too. Then security came and woke us up again and we had to prove we were indeed staying there. Then the whole night there were teenagers surrounding us and were loud until 4am. Needless to say - day one was rough. The next morning we went to speak to the manager and she immediately apologized and move us into a suite inside the hotel and it was a pleasant time the rest of our trip. THANK YOU for taking care of us and hearing us out.

They have a curfew on the pool amd actually have someone to come around and tell you to get out of the pool at 9 p.m. which for a grown person is absolutely uncalled for. I had a noon checkout time and they housekeepers was coming around knocking on peoples doors and waking them up at 9am and 10am talking about "housekeeping checkout"!!! Say what? I had to cuss them out twice and tell them checkout was not until 12! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Absolutely horrible experience and would want a refund if i could get one. Anyone that stays here dont say you havent been warned!

I liked the bed and the room. I did not like the 3 times the constant knocking, knock once and wait at 830 am then 10 then 12 when I clearly told the first maid at 830 that I was late checkout at 1pm

We stayed two nights. The room was clean and most of it looked updated. The only drawback was the old couch that was a fold out bed. It looked old & dirty and detracted from the rest of the room which looked nice & clean. Everything else was great. I would have given 5 stars if they had a better couch. Throw that thing out!

First and foremost, let me tell you how incredibly cozy and inviting this bed is. It practically lulls you to sleep effortlessly.

Landscaper with the blower spent a long time and started too early in the morning. The maid also came knocking atound 9am - now really.. Coffee in the room was the worst quality and breakfast was very basic. Room did not have total blackout curtains and the shower pressure was way to low. Otherwise, it was clean and so was the pool. The staff were all really nice too.
