Did not stay it did not feel safe and the room had a terrible smell and the carpet was nasty

I spent 3 nights at this hotel. I requested for 2 beds since I made an error booking one bed only. They easily switch my room with a small fee. After one night, they called my room if everything is okay. I said yeah, aside from the tub, water won’t go down. They want to fix it right away but I asked that they do it the next day. I went to the reception office and reminded them the next day. By the time I got back the tub/shower was working fine. The room I was in was clean, there’s a good working fridge, clean sheets and pillow cases. Bed is comfortable. Air conditioning was great. shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap provided with clean towels. I didn’t eat breakfast cos I always leave early. But i tried the coffee, it was alright. There were fruits and bread. They sell water and soda. But the soda was pricey. It’s okay for me since I didn’t want to leave to drive or walk to the nearest store. Location is quiet, near restaurants, grocery stores and the beach and the bay. I enjoyed staying here, definitely will stay here again. Highly recommended.

Paid for two nights, but didn’t stay there room was very small and dated. Room had a feel of a motel 6 before it got renovated. Didn’t feel safe with all the questionable people walking around. Did not see any security.

Have stayed several times. Has what we need at a good price. Beds are comfortable, rooms spacious, microwave and fridge work. Places to eat in easy walking distance. We always shop at the little Mexican grocery store kitty corner across the street, as they have lots of ready to eat meals in the deli. Easy parking at the hotel.

Didn’t get to see the breakfast because we slept in but the staff was very friendly. Didn’t know we had to leave a $100 deposit on top of what we paid (although it’s returnable would’ve been nice to know & that they didn’t take cash at all). The sink spout in the room was a bit broken but not a big deal. I’d say the hotel was a little outdated but not bad if you’re just gonna be there to sleep

The change was made as it was only 2:00, 2:30 and there were rooms available to make the switch, however, the manager was less than helpful, less than friendly and as my children and I packed up our room to move, he came over to the initial room as if he was intimidating me and following up on a request that he deemed to Ludacris, then as a traveling customer I as necessary. A second room that he moved us to was free of hazards. However, upon further inspection, when we arrived back to the room later that evening we could seeing that the room had not been properly dusted, made free of spider webs, or just properly deep cleaned for paying guests.

Breakfast contains breads, cereals milk , coffee, water and juice. It's starting at 7 am to 9 am. A lot of parking spaces available. No coffee maker, in the room, ice machine is locked and MUST ask the staff to open the door. I found earwig at 12.30 am on the sink. Close to Black Angus, Denny's and Taco Bell. The room look old with old carpet with odor from the carpet in the room as soon the door is open.

I recently stayed at what was advertised as a hotel, but it was definitely more like a motel in reality. The service was very poor—far below expectations. Although we had a reservation with breakfast included, the breakfast was extremely disappointing—just some bread, butter, cheese, a few cookies, and basic coffee or tea. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a proper hotel experience. Very underwhelming.

Late checkout is not allowed. The staff accidently gave my room key to someone else. So while i was resting in the room, someone suddenly opened the door and came in.

Room was big and the beds were comfortable. Great location with lots of restaurants. Within 15-20 minutes of the Zoo, Coronado and all the tourist attractions in San Diego. The room itself was clean but I have to say though the floors in the room were disgusting. You will want to wear shoes inside the room at all times because your feet will be black within 5 minutes of walking around on the carpet or the tile. Staff were friendly.

Traveled from out of state, had a reservation. I arrived to the lobby only to be told that the Manager cancelled reservation and gave no reason. I didn’t read the other lousy reviews until room was cancelled, but it may have been a blessing since those reviews tell of a lot of room for improvements.

I showed up and they never gave me a room I was told they couldn’t find my reservation and said I wasn’t able to stay the night they withdrew my money and I had to call Expedia to see what they could do no help at all

we checked out after the second night . Wife and I did not like the area at all..the staff were great but our travel around chula Vista and San Diego were way to much trouble in getting around the area due to not knowing the area at all. so we left.

Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast in the morning but it was only bread which im not a fan of. Steak house next door and fast food restaurants. Great for the price.

The man who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Fun to talk to. That was nice. Also the bed was comfortable and bedding very clean. It is walking distance to the oceanfront and a nice park. Unfortunately the hotel is in an undesirable location, by a transit station, so that’s loud and busy. Neighborhood is dirty and lots of foot traffic including homeless people. Didn’t feel very safe. Worried about our car being messed with in the parking lot. The breakfast selection is very limited and the lady tending to it was very rude and made you feel uncomfortable. Property is showing age, especially the furniture in the room and our door didn’t seem to shut securely. Would not stay here again

I reserved and paid through hotels.com and when I arrived the staff member said that I had not paid for my room, I contacted the booking company and they said that everything was good in their end. The staff member was inputting the incorrect number for the charge. I spent nearly an hour for this issue to be resolved due to this issue that the staff member was responsible for. Needless to say I was not happy

Room was neat but amenities ( Coffee Maker, Alarm/Time device)were provided only after we were asked inspite of website mentioning they are all available . Bathroom door gets jammed always & had to push harder to open it . Door was repaired next day after we checked in. Wifi signal strength is little weaker but we didn’t use it much.

This budget hotel was clean, quiet, & close to the freeway. I stayed here for a concert at Northern Island Amphitheater. Parking was tight at night but the hotel was sold out this weekend. Room was fine.

This place did not get the best of reviews, but I had the exact opposite experience. Either people are too harsh, or they have upped their game. The staff is excellent, with Jose checking us in, and the guy checking us out was Curtis. I am a hotel manager for a Hilton property, and both of these two would be welcome additions to my staff! Hard to find good people these days! Kind, jovial, and great customer service! We came for a concert at the amphitheater, and it was perfect for that. Do yourself a favor and stay here, and then walk across the street to the local pancake house and enjoy! We will for sure be back! Thank you!

I thought the pool area was nice - it was clean and it had a cute little area with a fountain that was pleasant to sit by. Very relaxing!

Overall…. Very good for the rate. Very clean. I think the shower is an accident waiting to happen. The tub is slippery and there are no hand bars to grab onto. I believe a person w/ somewhat compromised agility would be challenged. No rubber mats in the bathroom to put on the bath tub floor.

The front desk agent during the day is a very nice gentleman very very kind and very accommodating the area is nice because there are a lot of restaurants there's a grocery store across the street there's plenty of food in the area within walking distance. And it's close to the highway however I decided to stay another night and the evening supervisor was very unkind and very sarcastic when I was placed in room 239 and the lock did not lock and I did not feel safe and it was frustrating for me because I was here for work and to study and I had to go back and forth multiple times to the front desk to get an accommodation and I expressed that it was frustrating and the supervisor had the audacity to tell me he was frustrated also. How are you frustrated when I'm the one in the room that's not safe because the door doesn't lock how is it frustrating for you when I'm the one paying to stay somewhere and I deserve to have what I pay for the best of the best I don't understand how people get certain positions with bad attitudes and bad Rapport and decorum!!!!!

Room was clean, but they only came in to clean once in the 5 days we were there! The spigot for the shower literally came off in my hands and when i told the front desk they really did not care! I had to go to the front desk to get clean towels AND!!! My windshield was smashed in their parking lot!!!! But their cameras conveniently did not reach the area that i was parked in! That was a 400 dollar expense that i did not plan for! The breakfast is literally toast and cereal. Oh and i dropped my phone charger behind my nightstand and when i went to move it to get my charger the top of the nightstand literally came off the top! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Complete waste of almot 600 dollars!

Overall hotel stay was good. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Nice that the room came with a microwave and mini fridge (much needed when traveling with small children). The breakfast that was included with the hotel stay was an added bonus. There was a lot of different breakfast options to choose from. Location of hotel had different food options close by, some in walking distance. Overall pleased with what I paid for.

The gentleman from the front desk is great!

The room smelled moldy and damp. The area was sketchy to say the least. I did not feel safe walking around there. When I arrived, they charged me for my room and said it didn't go through so they charged again resulting in a double charge on my card. Then when the next person came in on staff they charged me again! They literally double charged me for an already overpriced room. This took up hundreds of dollars from my balance that I needed for this trip. When I tried to get irlt resolved they said nothing they can do that the charges will just drop off in several days. Seriously very inconvenient. I would not recommend this place.

The price was good but the shower was way too hot even when you turned it on to cold. The bed was comfortable.

The staff argued with how to check me in which was weird. They didn't argue with me, just with each other. The breakfast was really nice and clean, though the staff was not pleasant, though. I received a text to check out online, which I thought was convenient, but when I verified that's the process with the desk staff, she argued randomly that I was wrong and that this hotel isn't with Best Western and that I needed to turn my key in to check out and get a deposit back. That's truly not in line with the industry, but I did what she said. I'm not sure why everyone was in a dismal mood, but the property was adequate. The bed, pillow, water pressure, room temperature, tv were really great. I wish the staff dispositions were as pleasant as the property.

Great place to stay at. Very convenient location. Everything is close by! Only 18 minutes from the zoo and 15 min from sea world. Food options are walking distance. Market is only a walk away!

Loved that the staff checked in to make sure everything was ok. Traveling alone, this was a bonus, feeling safe and looked after. I am always very pleased when i stay there 2 or 3 times a year to visit my family

The hotel wasn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t live up to my expectations. The room was basic and lacked the comfort and quality I was hoping for. While it was generally clean, the overall atmosphere felt a bit outdated. The staff were okay, but not particularly warm or welcoming. The biggest downside for me was the location — the neighborhood didn’t feel very safe or pleasant, especially in the evening. It’s an acceptable place if you’re not too picky, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Walking around the property. The property has no security at night and you are in your own. The small couch was flirty/ stain.. we used our own blanket to cover the chair to be able to sit in it. We unfortunately stayed 5 nights/ we booked and @4pm we had already a day charged when we had not even arrived to the property. We I discuss this with the receptionist he said.. oh just in case you did or show up.. we stil charged a day for holding the room for you. No call to see if we were coming or arriving lake nothing.. they just charged an hour after check in.

The sheets were dirty and the tub was peeling with chip paint.. After I reported it they stated that they're working on their tubs. I stated that a room should not be used if it's not up to par. And regarding the dirty sheets they stated that they would talk to the cleaning lady who had the room before

We have been staying at SureStay Hotel every time we visit Chula Vista and we find it comfortable, near where we need to go, good service, breakfast, and nice friendly people.

It was great! This stay was a transition stop on an international trip and it fit the bill for what was needed. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and the water pressure was nice. The ONLY thing I would note for them is their night-audit front deskman, needs a little customer service training. Curt and condescending is not the same as stoic and professional. Just a recommendation. ;-)

Nice staff, but the property was not worth the money at all. Free breakfast wasn't good with very little options, and there was no hot tub even though it was shown in the pictures. It was constantly loud and the rooms were a bit dirty/trashy. Once again the staff were all very nice nothing against them the property itself just wasn't good.
