Big 7 Motel Chula Vista I-5

This place was definitely low class! I had made arrangements through Expedia for 2 queen bed room for 2 nights. Upon our arrival there was a very tight parking lot and homeless people on the outside of the hotel. I had went to the front desk to pay for our room and they didn’t have a 2 bed available! Instead they gave us a one bedroom with a couch! Ugh! On the 2nd floor and I’m handicapped! The stairs were very steep and narrow! It was super difficult bringing up our luggage! The floors in the rooms are unstable! The mini fridge did not work! And the rooms didn’t have any trash cans. But I guess you get what you pay for!

This was a place for hourly use, I know because there were 2 different women dressed for the occasion before I checked in. I left the place,didn't check in and had to find somewhere else and still had to pay for this awful place. I would never recommend this place. Now I know why they don't let you cancel the reservation without being changed or charged. Horrible hotel!

Check in is at 3pm we got a room key that wasn’t ready for our stay and dirty . There is illegal activity there at hotel and prostitution in the parking lot . I went there with my kids and we asked for refund it was not safe to stay overnight ! DO NOT buy the hotel the pictures are deceiving the outside building looks like a jail

I had to leave my event 3 hour early due to the staff threatening to cancel my reservation if I didn't check in before 8pm. Keep in mind i was visiting from out of state. All the other hotels I had stayed at say that as long as you check in before midnight is okay. The room was horrifically dirty, they claimed to had clean the room but looked like they hadnt cleaned in days. It smelled like smoke and mold the entire time we stayed. The bed sheets were stained with blood and when I asked the clerk about sending someone to clean they just gave me "new" sheets and told me to change them myself and that they would send someone later (they did not send anyone). The sheets they gave me were worst than the ones with blood on it. The ceramic sink was ripped off the wall and holding on by a piece of plastic. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!

Nearby shops. Unfortunately it was not clean. Floors were sticky and all furniture was very dirty including the bedroom mirror and remote control. The walls and doors were also dirty. All it takes is a little bit of elbow grease to fix the issue. Good thing was that the staff was nice.

They cancelled my bookings the same day due to over booking. Very bad experience. They ruined my trip to San Diego

First off driving in the property drug deals going on. Men drinking out front , going into the room the security lock was broken off. Bed sheets burnt tv stand and furniture broken and in bad condition. When we turned on the ac smelled like urine and smoke. I couldn’t sleep all night because I was afraid someone would try to come in. People yelling and fighting next door. Definitely dangerous place

First of all there is no phone to access the front desk in case of emergency...then the couple next door were hollering and fighting all night long and into the morning but of course there was no phone to call the front desk and report them...and then there was the paper comforter and no spare blanket so I had to sleep with the heater on all night long...all in all I had a terrible nights sleep...glad I only booked on night.

Our key was blocked couldn't get into our room, I saw a couple of roaches and it has unfinished upgrades.

Room was nasty, and unsanitary. There was what appeared to criminal activity inside the rooms as the doors was open. Shower head was falling off and paper towels stuffed in the peak hole.. the bed was old too broken and uncomfortable.

This was one of the worst motels I’ve ever stayed at. The shower didn’t turn on, there was hair in the sheets along with stains I can only assume are from somebody peeing themselves or worse. There was bugs all over the room and I truly was disgusted with everything about it.

I made a reservation and the manager canceled my booking cuz their price mistake . When he should had let me pay the difference but instead they canceled me and I wasnt qualify for a refund smh

Parking well lit Sheets had pubic hair when the comforter was pulled back BEFORE BED. TV OUT OF SERVICE SMELLED OF BLEACH NOTICED WRITING ON RESTROOM DOOR THAT WAS NOT VISIBLE UNTIL CLOSING.

The first room was not ready until well after the checkin time, so I received the room. Key yet was asked to wait for it to be cleaned. Once in the room, after a few hours, the AC unit leaked water all over the floor, and there was a big water bug crawling the floor. When I called the office, they just offended to change my room. Once the room was changed, the second room was upstairs and had 2 microwaves and 2 refrigerators, and only one of the 2 lamps had bulbs in them. There was limited parking in the lot.

Went to the front desk to request new ones and they looked at me like it's my fault, knowing very well I had just checked in 15min prior. Two days later they replaced them again during "room service and gave me towels in similar condition. At which point they looked at me like a sworn enemy when I was just requesting the most basic of decency. I understand the concept of "you get what you pay for" but there should still be an enforceable bare minimum of service quality.

It was a good experience. When we arrived, everything was clean, everything was tidy, and the service was great. My only complaint is that the pool closes very early. But other than that, I would stay here again.

The room was updated and perfect for the few nights we stayed. This is one of the only motels that has been updated, but still has the OC motel feel. Staff were extremely nice.

Choosing to stay downtown OC it is loud outside and if you have people above you you will hear them walking around. Pool was a place to cool off. Very close to boardwalk.

This is one of the nicer low priced accommodations in Chula Vista. And the price is quite competitive with other hotels in the area. The neighborhood is urban ish and very walkable with interesting stores and restaurants all along the main street.

Drug dealers selling dope out of rooms, tweakers getting high on the steps and digging out of the garbage can, prostitutes going in and out of rooms, and people sleeping in their car in the parking lot. This hotel doesn’t even have enough respect or decency for their guests to put lightbulbs in the lamps or clean the mold out of their fridges. My point being is this, they should be shut done or sold out to someone who cares to have a decent hotel. Overall this place could get someone seriously sick or hurt from the people that they let hang around there.

When checking in. I asked if they can accommodate us on giving us a lower level as we had our grandmother with us that is elderly and he walks with the walker and they couldn’t also pulling in. We seen a gentleman take the screen off one of the windows open the window and open the door from the window and proceed to go in. There was a lot of people in and out banging on the doors pets in at the property very dirty. The towels that were given to us were very dirty.

It’s was quiet and I was able to sleep finally after being up trying to complete work. There was no issues even neighbors which was a great because my normally my issue.

Only $20 deposit. And at $100 a night you can get a suite with 2 actual rooms and a fridge with an actual freezer. Plenty of room. No grass or anything to take a dog potty.

Even though there was a language barrier everyone was Hospitable. The grounds need to be maintained better because there was loud cracks in the concrete and that could be a health hazard as far as falling.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. However some of the customers were very rude, selfish and played music very loud and we had to request for management to request to lower the volume. The bedding was not very comfortable either.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. However some of the customers were very rude, selfish and played music very loud and we had to request for management to request to lower the volume. The bedding was not very comfortable either.

though our room was clean, the toilet became unhinged and the bathroom door had was damaged & it looked like unfinished work. It’s looking better but the management needs to get those repairs done so clients can feel comfortable. I do like the fact that it’s small and has plenty parking however I believe lots of street people book this hotel because it’s quite noisy at night.

Room was nice but the outside was dirty. Plus my tv didn't work and ask for assistance and didn't receive anything

If I could guve 0 stars, I would. The room was filthy. There were stains all over the walls and all over the towels. The floor was dirty. The smoke detector was missing. The door didnt lock from the inside, but would get atuck you couldnt open it. The lock on the outside was broken, too, and took multiple tries to get in. The bathroom window didnt have a lock and could be slid open feom the outside. We were on the first floor. To sum it up, its a filthy fire hazard with no security. And they don't do refunds. Which I'm sure is because they know everyone would want one. We had to pay for a second hotel because it wasn’t safe to stay here and they were adamant about no refunds. So we are out the money after not even using the room. Do not book this place. You will 100% regret it if you do

Never staying here again! Front desk was not friendly. Suspicious people loitering around the parking lot and hotel staff was not doing anything about it. Lock on the door didn’t feel secured. Sheets looked dirty and had holes in them. Not worth the price!

I arrived to 3 Young men in the lobby with no identifying clothing that they were employees. The first room they gave me the door would not open. The second room, the door opened, but would not lock. Reluctantly, one of the gentlemen there came to assist and got it to lock. The bed was worn and not comfortable. There were holes in the wall. Floors were filthy. The towels were dirty. This place should be closed down.

The register guy had an attitude from the signed in. During checked out, his attitude was woret, like I disturbed him or something. I couldn't sleep at all and i was so tired and was looking for a good rest. $133/night for this garbage place? Unreal. That's stealing money. Homeless people surrounding the facility. Place smell like urine and trash. Unbelievable, why would charged that much for a trash place like that?? That's not fair 😕. This place should get shut down for refurbish, point blank.

Here is my review of this place: Outside area: 0 of 5 stars, it has a lot of homeless right outside the hotel and it is dirty and unsafe at late hours. Front desk: 1of 5 stars, they were really rude and rushed me, they also wanted my details like home address even thought I had shown my ID. Inside room: 2 of 5, not as bad as it looks outside so as long as you hunker down you should be good. The bed was decent but pillows and blankets were questionable. The bathroom was good and the A/C was good that’s why I gave a 2. Parking lot: 1of5, doesn’t look safe to leave your vehicle parked there for a full night. Luckily I uber there. Honestly, if you are short on cash is better to just stay in a hostel downtown, instead of risking it out here. It feels like a gangsters movie hotel where they are waiting for a package. Is not even that cheap I paid 136 dollars, for something that I value at maybe 75. Expedia do yourself a favor and remove this hotel from your listing. I may look for other platforms to book if you don’t QA your hotels.

The ROACHES welcomed us into our room! The only reason we stayed after killing them was because it was non refundable and there was nothing else better than that... Definitely NEVER going there again.. we should have stayed in our car but the area is so loud and unsafe. If you can, please stay somewhere else!

LIKES: - pricing, although not the best I went during a time that all hotel/motel pricing was high - free parking - outdoor security cameras - 24hr front office - near bus/trolley system - fridge and microwave (a surprise) - it was clean, not pristine but clean DISLIKES: - furniture was in poor state but functional - internet was not secure - interior walls had minimal cosmetic damage (scratches,etc) - towels were small in size and few - bathroom soap and shampoo, tiny and rarely replaced (had to get my own) - no ice machine Would I recommend? - if your expectation is you get what you pay for / reasonable and not expecting pampering, probably so. Would not recommend for a family, however. Would I go again? - Maybe, I went because my options were limited and it was available. I may have gotten lucky on the room type. I was also alone and am used to accommodating short times of living roughly.

It was just awful, and you should remove it from your listings for Chula Vista as your information is out of date.
