Guests generally appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and beautiful views of Chimney Rock. The location is often praised for its proximity to local attractions. However, some guests find the rooms and bathrooms to be small, and there are occasional complaints about minor maintenance issues.

One of the best experience staying here, very clean a a beautiful view, very nice staff. If the whole experience I give a ten out of ten very nice shops.
- 5/5
Mountain was so beautiful
- 5/5
Found the property to well maintained, the rooms clean and the staff greeted us with a smile and engaged us in anyway he could help.
- 4/5
Taking into consideration that the town is still pretty quiet and much is still not open due to Hurricane Helene, we had a pleasant stay. It was our anniversary weekend and I thought I had booked a room with a hot tub, but had not. The place was empty so I asked for an upgrade to the hot tub room, the website said there was availability and of course I was happy to pay any fees. The management said the room was booked for the weekend. I never saw any other cars come onto the property and the only one that did stayed 2 doors down from us in a room similar to ours. It’s a place to sleep. Nothing more or less. No in room coffee, microwave, or even a hair dryer. Pretty but very basic
- 5/5
Clean room and excellent service.
- 5/5
Room was clean, but we found a hair in the bed, so could be a little cleaner. Bathroom was spotless and beautiful! Terry, the woman at the front, was wonderful to talk to and very understanding to us getting in late on check in. We ended up checking out a little late and they had no problem with it too. Overall, a great stay and will be comjng back in the summer!
- 5/5
It was nice and clean. Comfy and cozy. Lady at check in was awesome and very informative. Will refer friends and family. Planning on future trips back here.
- 5/5
Everything was great love the place. We stay there in the same cabin every year for our anniversary.
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
will definitely book again next time we’re in the area!
- 5/5
Great staff. Exactly what I needed!
- 4/5
The room was clean and just a sweet stay. The area around the hotel is still under cleanup from hurricane Helene but still we enjoyed our stay very much.
- 5/5
Owner went above and beyond to accommodate my stay due to a little snafu on my part. Much appreciated
- 5/5
Peaceful, tranquil, they have a small library which is a huge plus to me. I would definitely go again. Loved the waterfall, pool was clean and accessible. Fresh coffee on the front porch to set out and enjoy the setting was a major plus for us and let’s not forget the bears! Super enjoyable
- 4/5
Charming hotel within walking distance of restaurants, gift shops and coffee…wonderful owner.
- 4/5
This was a quaint little Inn and was close enough to everything, yet kept the mountain feeling.
- 5/5
Very beautiful and quaint place. Several cool features and a good sized pool. Though the area is still recovering from Helene this place is well taken care of
- 5/5
The check-in process was very smooth and pleasant. Even though we arrived early in the morning around 10 AM just to look around, they warmly welcomed us, checked us in, and handed over our room right away. Cleanliness and hygiene were absolutely perfect — we would give it a full 10 out of 10. The pool was spotless, the public areas were sparkling clean, and the room, beds, bathroom, and shower were all in excellent condition. Both the reception and hotel management, as well as the housekeeping and service staff, were genuinely wonderful and friendly. Location-wise, it’s only a 2-minute drive to the entrance of Chimney Rock State Park, and about 10 minutes from a large Super Center store and activities like zip-lining and horseback riding. We highly recommend this place, and if we return to the area, it will definitely be at the top of our list again!
- 5/5
Beautiful location, quaint room. The staff was friendly, thorough and attentive. We had to change our arrival and departure days twice - they accommodated us with a great service attitude!
- 5/5
Room was small but cozy, however, there's a huge front porch/deck across the length of the hotel with rocking chairs plus "picnic" tables. The property has hotel rooms and cabin rentals. The hotel rooms have been very nicely updated and decorated by the new owners and cabins will be updated soon. There's a beautifully landscaped waterfall and bushes planted around the fenced in pool that give a sense of privacy. My sister and I had a quiet, relaxing stay. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Great place! Perfect location!!
- 3/5
Facility old and not very well maintained. Bed sheets and pillow covers were not very clean. Some lights were not working.
- 1/5
you can buy $400 mattresses that are reasonbably firm! there is NO excuse for 30 year old mattresses! SOOOOOOOO disappointed!

We cut our trip short by one day and left early. The staff was very nice and tried to be helpful but we found the other occupants to be very rude. People were smoking marijuana around our room and partying until 2:00am. We reported.to staff and they were accomodating but we got no sleep. This was not the cute "inn" we were expecting. Its an old motel that has had some updates.
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay. It’s evident the owners make every effort to ensure each stay is wonderful, and ours was! The updates are appreciated, yet none of the charm is lost. It’s a safe and secure place to stay in town, and the added charm is noted. Would stay again anytime. Thank you!

I slept in one of the two beds and woke up around 5:30 to find about ten bug bites on my right side of torso. That’s the side I slept on. I went to the office immediately and showed the staff the bites and asked them to change sheets when they do their daily chore. She was sympathetic and agreed. We left the hotel at 8:30 and came back around 4:30pm. I thought the staff had taken care of the bugs so I lay down on the same bed and rested. This time within an hour i was bitten on my back a dozen times because I was on my back this time . I jumped into shower and stripped and searched my clothes, didn’t find anything, so I knew the bug was still in the bed. I sent my husband to talk to the staff again. She explained that they did everything they could. She was truly apologetic and sympathetic. She asked for pictures of the bites so we did take pictures and texted her. She came back saying if we check out then the owner will give us a full refund for that day. It was 6pm. We decided to leave as I was exhausted and couldn't take another round of bites. Between physical discomfort and mental stress, having to find a place to sleep last minute or to disappoint our child by ending the trip sooner and heading home, and financial loss of cancelling the next days activities which we paid for already, we had a very stressful experience that day there. It was Saturday and we emailed about the refund on Monday morning but we never heard back. Not a confirmation, not an apology, nothing.
- 5/5
It was a great clean place to stay.
- 5/5
The lady at the front desk made you feel like family. Rooms are set up in country style and feels like home away from home. The bed was so comfortable that I went to sleep right away . It close to the village and close to Flowering Bridge
- 5/5
Great location between the town of Chimney Rock and the lake. Super cute and charming. Very North Carolina mountains. Plus they have a pool, a little fountain, and a large shared front porch. I really enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Great little one night getaway. We stayed in the Mimosa cabin so cute and clean. We walked past the waterfall to the pool and was almost disappointed as the pool looked void of any water. Nope the pool was that clean the water was so clear ! Inn is close to everything.
- 5/5
The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Anything you need they would be there for you. Excellent place to stay. Thank you for making it homely. RP
- 5/5
Very nice cottage and clean. Wish parking was a little better but all in all nice place to stay.
- 4/5
I might suggest to owners that they don’t allow guests to smoke directly outside of their room, but perhaps a designated area down at far end. Often when I opened my door to the porch, I could smell cigarette smoke. Otherwise, a great place to stay!
- 5/5
We had a great time.Room was very comfortable. Everything was in walking distance. Chimney Rock entrance was close.
- 5/5
The cottage was perfect for my husband and I.we was so surprised, that the voters had everything plus. And right by the river.. Don’t forget your fishing pole. Cottage is fully furnished, grills and stove. We will book again. You well be sorry if you pass this Gem up. Thank you again Ashley and chimney riverside cottages.

- 4/5

- 5/5
The hotel is very clean and the owner is very nice and helpful.. Thanks.
- 5/5
Home away from home..It's sooo cozy here and the Staff makes you feel like family..Very clean..and the hospitality is Amazing..I recommend this place highly..
- 5/5
We stayed in the sunset cottage. Very friendly staff and cottage was clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
The unit was spacious, clean, had everything we needed. The cute little gas fireplace didn’t work for us but could have been user error. We were only there one night and the wall unit heated the place nicely so it wasn’t an issue. Only took off one star because while it is riverside, it’s technically not a cottage. It’s in the basement of a larger house. There was a lovely deck with some chairs we could have used to sit and watch the river in nicer weather but the price was a bit high in our opinion for what it was.
- 2/5
Place very small, clean with exception of floors. Tiny shower. Power off and on several times before midnight and then went off around 4am and didn’t come back on until almost 8. Will definitely look somewhere else the next time.
- 4/5
Though it’s provided at some time.
- 5/5
Great place to stay… We loved our cabin, the staff was very nice, great views, We will be back!!!
- 3/5
Good location. Was looking right at chimney rock off the front balcony
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay there....The Inn is close to both Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. However, the traffic Saturday and Sunday was terrible. Inn is close to the entrance to Chimney Rock Park Tower $17 per person. However its along twisting and turning ride up to the elevator that takes you 26 stories up in just 30 seconds. We waited in line about 25 minutes to go up but only 10 to get down. Go early and avoid the crowds. Once up in the elevator its 45 steps to the peak. The view at the top is spectacular! Once parked for your room, you had to go up about 12 steps to the Inn's rooms...Nice, hot and good free coffee every morning was nice. Some people gave this place some very bad reviews that i don't think were warranted. The staff went out of their way to accommodate any requests. Room was updated and comfy with heat and air, TV and small refrigerator!
- 5/5
We enjoyed are stay so much. Rooms are small but we’re clean and quiet. AMAZING Mountain Views. We will be back again next year.
- 5/5
The Inn was a walkable distance to the Riverside Event Center, which was exactly what I needed. Parking to the 3 bedroom suit was not that convenient and on a narrow road, beware if you want to bring a big truck, like we did. I don't recommend bringing a big vehicle, it's doable but be cautious. I do want to say that this is an older hotel with outdated charms all over the place. Nothing is new or up-to-date for those of you looking for something modern. Easy check in and check out. Terry, an employee, was friendly and sweet to us. The VIEW from our porch was the best part! We could see Chimney Rock from the front door. Overall it was a great stay and my family will be back.
- 5/5
The staff were friendly, helpful. It was a surprise after the first night to have the linens changed in the bathroom. Most hotels we have stayed at recently only change the towels after a few days or at the end of the stay. We would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
The inn was an amazing place to stay! Great views! The service was wonderful! We had an amazing Labor Day weekend!!! We will definitely be back!
- 4/5
Needed a clean place to stay for a weekened at Lake Lure / Chimney rock and this place checked all the boxes. Staff were great and coffee was good. Rooms are small but it's a motor inn and not the Grand Bohemian, so manage your expectations. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Teresa is very pleasant and helpful. The morning after we checked, was using microwave and coffee maker at the same time but the power supply went out, called and they had someone look into the breaker and power was restored…we we’re advised to maybe use one appliance at a time. We also informed them that the shower drain was not draining properly, they got that fixed as well. The power went out on our 2nd day due to the storm but she gave us couple flash lights to use. Beds are cozy, plenty of room, shower is a little too small.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Absolutely stunning view of Chimney Rock State Park. Staff were so friendly and kind!
- 5/5
The property has a beautiful view of Chimney Rock from the full-length deck on the front. We booked our stay here last minute for one night and liked the place and area so much we stayed an additional night. The staff was very nice as well as the owner. Located minutes form Lake Lure and the entrance to Chimney Rock it was very convenient. My best suggestion in the area is tubing the Green River. The room was clean and adequate, and the air conditioner worked well. Small mini fridge and they brought me a coffee make and a tray with all needed supplies. Our room also had a newly remodeled bathroom. There is a small pool on site the kids enjoyed. A community microwave, ice machine and snack machine. I would look to stay here again.
- 5/5
Chimney Rock Inn & Cottages is an amazing place! My son and I had a blast. Super convenient to beach and state park. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Cottage was very clean had excellent views. Thank you!
- 4/5
Staff and fellow guests were all very pleasant in this beautiful location!
- 2/5
Dirty, stained sheets, A/C not functioning, no staff in office, bathroom extremely small with shower that its roughly 2/2ft. Batteries were dead for small TV remote, huge gap in front door, loud creeky unleveled deck, we were bitten by spiders while sleeping.
- 4/5
Good location. Helpful staff.
- 2/5
4 Roches @ the room , tiny bath, tine shower, tiny room, very small refrigerator & was starting every 2 min all night ect
- 4/5
We loved the rocking chairs on the porch and the view of Chimney Rock right across the street. The kids had fun with the pool and vending area. But the most exciting was the bear that visits the area every night.
- 2/5
Cons: tiny room; no chair; noise in mattresses; no hair dryer; very low water pressure in the shower; no water and coffee after 4 pm; no local tv channels;
- 4/5
Room was very quaint and you could hear the river with the windows open.
- 5/5
The room was so clean and the staff so kind. You can’t beat the view from the shared deck and the overall atmosphere. Would absolutely stay here again.
- 4/5
A very unique property, but fitting the location. Staff was very friendly and the property was in excellent condition. One just needs to be aware that this is not a typical (for 2023) property.
- 2/5
The room was cold. There was a gap around the exterior door going out.
- 5/5
The room was great. The facility is older and could use some improvements, but overall it was a great stay. Awesome views of Chimney Rock across the road.
- 4/5
Outside grounds could have been a bit neater.
- 5/5
I liked the balcony/patio in front of the room with a great view of chimney rock mountain. Friendly owners. :)
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Our room was so cute with country charm. Tile floors gave it a rustic vibe, quilt bed spreads were charming, coffee available in the room. it was a sweet little room. Location was great. The only thing that was MISSING WAS A HAIR DRYER in the room. It was a cold morning so I could not wash my hair.
- 3/5
Just ok for the value
- 5/5
The walk to cabin unsteady. Only parking under a tree. We left with much sap and stuff all over our car. Would be nice to have newer, softer towels. Otherwise we loved the cabin and staff particularly one so nice who was ever so helpful a shout out to her were wonderful! Will stay again in the same cabin in the Fall.
- 5/5
Nice location.
- 5/5
The mimosa cottage was super cute we loved it
- 4/5
Beautiful cozy getaway in the mountains. Relaxing.
- 5/5
Very nice and reasonably priced. Would definitely return.
- 5/5
Nice porch right on the river in the "Riverside Room". Very cozy and clean. Very kind staff. We will definately be back!
- 4/5
The area is beautiful. The inn is very cute. The room was small which wasn't a huge deal, but the bathroom was tiny. We enjoyed our stay though. We were there for a wedding and the location was very convenient...less than a mile from the wedding site. I loved that the owner made coffee each morning for the guests to sit out on the deck and enjoy. It was a nice touch.
- 5/5
Great spot! Staff were great, room was clean and view was beautiful. Very charming to walk around or sit on porch.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly. Room was frequently cleaned. Will recommend for sure
- 5/5
Room was warm, homely and comfortable. Wish I could stay longer!
- 3/5
Cons: room is very small, poor fitting exterior door was drafty and not very secure, parking very tight. Unfortunately wouldn’t stay there again.
- 5/5
Check-in person very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
i can hear the next snoring
- 4/5
Really small bhatroom but nice lady
- 5/5
Great view of chimney rock and cute rooms! Some road noise and small shower. Would stay again just for the great deck and views... stay in room #1 or #8 on the ends!
- 3/5
Tiny. Really tiny room. Micro sized bathroom. No microwave, fridge, drawers for clothes or chairs. Lovely porch! Delicious coffee available each morning outside of the office. Tiki bar across the road plays outside on weekends during the season- even in October? Super loud, could feel bass in my chest at 8:30 at night when I wanted to experience the quiet of the mountains. Also not handicapped accessible at all. If you did get up the stairs the room is too small for a wchair or a walker.
- 4/5
This is a very quaint motel. Nothing fancy but a nice experience over the big chain hotels. Location was great. Their coffee in the morning was really good! My only complaint is I think they need to update their mattress.
- 4/5
Quaint Room. Loved the quilts
- 5/5
Only issue was sketchy WIFI but we worked around that.
- 5/5
Highly recommend and would stay here again
- 5/5
This is a quiet little getaway nestled on the side of the mountain. Excellent view of Chimney Rock. A super friendly little bar across the road with access to the river.
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
The room was cleaned ok except trash behind the bedside table and a dirty fork in a drawer. The mattresses are very old and hard to sleep on. The bathroom is tiny and the water pressure was very low.
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly and went way out of their way to make us comfortable the kids loved the very clean pool
- 4/5
We stayed in the mimosa cabin and it was adorable!! I will say the bed was super hard and the pillows weren’t the greatest but other than that the stay was very enjoyable. We loved the view of chimney rock off our private deck. The location was great. We will certainly be back!
- 4/5
Nice little hotel/motel in the heart of Chimney Rock. Great location and friendly staff. We stayed in one of the motel rooms, which was small but met our needs for the weekend. There was a nice front porch with rocking chairs to enjoy the Mountain View. They also have small cottages which we may give a try on the next visit.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Bathroom not comfortable for large persons.
- 5/5
I can’t brag enough about this place. Super friendly staff, clean and cozy rooms, really comfortable bed and an amazing view right out your front door! We’ll definitely be coming back!
- 3/5
The room was very clean, and the coffee on the veranda each morning was lovely but the mattress was way to soft(no support) and the shower was very small. The Chimney Rock Inn is quaint but not very comfortable.
- 3/5
The place was a cabin, not in the greatest shape. Ac runs all the time. Water pump runs thru the night.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
Overall cleanliness needs to be improved.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff, cute room. They need different cleaning products. The Lysol was overpowering.
- 3/5
The AC was loud but probably drowned out street noise. Things like a hair dryer, small frig, microwave, or coffee maker weren't there. They DID provide excellent coffee in the morning. This is probably great for people wanting something rustic and not cookie cutter. It just wasn't for us.
- 4/5
The bead was clean, but the box spring was very old and in bad condition, it needs replacing.
- 5/5
Manager was very nice. Made some great recommendations for a few things we should see.
- 5/5
Stayed in the misty mountain cabin 10 out of 10 definitely recommend
