A fantastic stay yet again. I have stayed here the last few years while attending a conference. All the staff were great and amazing selection of food for breakfast and for late night snacks. I will be back again next year

This was a fabulous place to stay. The house, rooms, kitchen, eating areas were immaculate. The host, Gina, could not have been more accommodating. I have never seen anyone work so hard to make her guests feel at home. We had a wonderful time. We will come again. Thank you for the care you put into this bed and breakfast. Gina and staff were warm and friendly. When our toilet clogged, we got upgraded. When we needed a delayed checkout, they accommodated. We had a fire for a cold night and got delicious eggs and crispy bacon for breakfast. Highly recommend for those lovers of all things Italian.

The villa was absolutely stunning. I sent pictures to a friend who said if they didn't know better they would think that we were in Italy. The proprietors, Gina and Don, were always accessible and quick to answer any questions or concerns that arose. The breakfasts surpassed our expectations as did the ever available snacks and beverages. Our bed had ample pillows and a mattress that was beyond comfortable. Gina was gracious, friendly, and conversant without being intrusive. We met a number of delightful guests. The villa is walking distance from great restaurants, a zoo, parks and many boutique shops. Our room lacked chairs for sitting which was mostly a function of its layout. The shower was just a hair above lukewarm and the hot tub outdoors was only 99 degrees. HVAC was problematic with the room either being too hot or too cold but using the fireplace, opening/closing the registers and doors helped offset that.

Watch the video and don’t go down and get food before breakfast is ready, the owner gets upset. They called twice to switch our rooms to accommodate another guests needs and gave a a small discount. Watch the video before your stay.

I recently stayed at The Villa in the Euro Room, and it was such a lovely experience. The mansion was incredibly clean and beautifully styled, with so many charming details to admire. I loved the vibe and the thoughtful touches, like the food available...our panini was delicious! We also enjoyed a show at The Vic and returned to unwind with some Italian wine. The shower was stunning, and everything was well-labeled and convenient. The next day, we relaxed in the jacuzzi, and the breakfast was fantastic. We even met one of the owners, Gina, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Overall, a memorable stay and highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived, Villa D’ Citta felt less like a “bed and breakfast” and more like a lovingly curated home away from home. We stayed in the Caesar Room for one night—and though our stay was brief, it left an impression that will bring us back with our families. The Room & Ambiance The Caesar Room was beautifully appointed: tasteful décor, plush bedding, thoughtful touches. It felt private and comfortable, yet part of the larger personality of the inn. The common areas—lounges, garden terrace, and the fireplace in the lobby—invite you to linger, sip, read, or simply relax. Delightful Extras What really made the stay special were the small but generous touches: Free wine and a tempting spread of snacks available to guests An open kitchen that felt like a cozy gathering spot The warm, attentive hospitality that made us feel right at home The Breakfast: A Marvel The highlight of our stay was breakfast. Gina, our wonderful host, prepared a meal that was nothing short of spectacular—fresh coffee, Italian breads, seasonal fruit, and home-cooked specialties. Everything seemed prepared with love and care, the perfect way to begin a day in Chicago. Final Thoughts & Future Plans In sum: Villa D’ Citta is a rare find. It balances elegance and comfort, charm and professionalism. Our one night in the Caesar Room was unforgettable. We are already planning to return—with my wife, and next time bringing my parents along.

Unique experience staying within a block of DePaul School of Music. Lovely property with open kitchen and great breakfast/coffee. Nice outdoor area with fire pit. Stayed in Capone suite which was comfortable but noisy as it was downstairs just below the kitchen. Note that private bath is down the hall as this wasn’t explained well when I booked. Would stay again and I do recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful house, and I appreciate how accommodating Jen and Rosa were. However, I must address the renovation work that occurred on our last day. While the owner did reach out the night before, the communication left us feeling rushed to vacate in the morning, which was not ideal. Overall great place to stay 10/10 would recommend.

Only complaint was a bizarre one: The music in the front parlor was set, by accident, to replay the same song non stop for at least 24 hours. That said, it was Sinatra, and a great song ...

Edith was amazing! She greeted us each morning with coffee, breakfast, and a smile😊 Except the last morning, a woman that introduced herself as the Asst Manager came in while we were eating and complained about the new coffee maker and was pretty unpleasant, but everything and everyone else was excellent!!

Reasonable location and clean. Nothing was obvious, food, WiFi etc. Staff were nice but couldn’t speak any English.
- 4/5
The welcome, the location, the beautiful lounges, kitchen and courtyard, the breakfast and help yourself food were really great. Our bathroom was beautifully designed with a great shower. The location was perfect in gorgeous Lincoln Park. A perfect location for exploring Chicago, yet peaceful and elegant. The air conditioning unit that turned on and off throughout the night. Turning it off was beyond our control.
- 4.5/5
The location is amazing. The room was small and stuffy. The bathroom was not attached to the room, it was down the hall.
- 5/5
The design of building inside and out is so gorgeous. Everything from the French doors to the decor has a warming relaxing environment. There isn’t anything I didn’t like about the property.
- 5/5
Initially went there since near where my son lives in Lincoln Park realized it is within walking distance for most things as well front of propery along Halstead street can get a bit busy but overall very quiet at night when it counts food is good and love the kitchen as well as being able to talk to other guests Don the owner is very accommodating as well only downer is sometimes there is no gym vut plenty of room around the area for jogging or brisk walk since v close to DePaul university also the electronic codes setimes require a little patience to use would plan to use this place again for future trips

Best bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed in. Simply amazing
- 5/5
The communication from the moment of booking to our goodbyes was outstanding. The detailed video walk-through, check-in instructions, and information on all the kitchen amenities were incredibly helpful. I loved the convenience of being able to do a self check-in and check-out. In our case, we were greeted by the housekeeper, who made sure we were settled in, but beyond that, it felt like our own home as we came and went throughout our stay while exploring the property. The kitchen, stocked with deli-quality meats, cheese, bread, and endless snacks, sweets, coffee, and drinks, was out of this world! This alone is a compelling reason to stay here. If you choose to stay, you’ll see what I mean—it’s an unbelievable added value included in the booking cost. Honestly, nothing. Everything was fantastic. If I had to be super nitpicky, the only thing I noticed—which really wasn’t a big deal—was that most of the small battery-powered candles on the shelf across from the whirlpool tub didn’t turn on. My suggestion would be to either remove them, have housekeeping check each one before check-in, or leave a stash of extra batteries on the shelves so guests can change them as needed.

Wonderful place.
- 1/5
The room was in a basement. We were not told this when booking. It was dark and depressing and reeked of mildew. The bathroom and shower were down the hall from the room. The steps were dangerous and uneven and poorly lit. And there was a literal folding bed parked in front of the narrow hallway in front of our door. We asked them to move it as it was a fire hazard. They told us they would but it was still there when we left.

I know the neighborhood well so loved being able to eat and shop at places I knew were great..

Just returned from a three night stay at the villa. 10 plus stars. Surpassed my expectations. Hosts and staff were incredible, accommodations fit for royalty. So impressed with our room, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, and the fully stocked kitchen. Villa is in a safe neighbourhood, walking distance from shopping, dinning and attractions. I will only be staying here when visiting Chicago in the future. I highly recommend it
- 5/5
If you can find a better place in Chicago, then stay there. Because this is absolutely the best and my travel all the time completely exquisite if I could give it more than a 10, I would. The area is amazing. Easy to get around close to everything. Safe safe safe.

This is a beautiful property that is well situated. The in house team could not have been nicer or more personable. There is an elevator which is rare for a B&B and really wonderful when you’re arriving and departing. The room was well appointed and the entry systems very easy. One thing to note is the outside front entry stairs are uneven in depth, making the last step down extended, but there is a railing. I would ask though if you can’t handle stairs particularly well. There is a beautiful walled garden in the back for breakfast or reading in the afternoon, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I would book here again in a heartbeat!!

Rosa & Edith were attentive to our needs and expectations. The entire staff was friendly, accommodating and engaging. The Villa was at our disposal, and we were able to enjoy the amenities with our daughter and her husband who live nearby. Next time we book at Villa D' Citta, we will likely request accommodations that include the bath in our room. While we still had a private bath, it was a bit cumbersome to have to leave our room to use it.
- 5/5
awesome atmosphere with great options in the dining room and a very nice host. will definitely aim to return if i am ever in chicago again!

We stayed in the Florencia and the description said 800 sq ft but it’s only a little over 400 sq ft. I picked it based on the size of the room so not what I paid for in my opinion. Ceiling fans would be nice because it gets hot in the room at night since the heat runs the whole time. The first step of the house is way higher than it should be and if you’re not careful you’ll trip not raising your feet high enough. Pillows lose their shape and you’ll be sleeping on the mattress unless you double them up and even then they still lose their shape. Do I feel like I got my moneys worth? Not at all. Regular hotel may have been a better choice and cheaper.
- 2/5
I like this location because it’s near where my family lives, and I have stayed here before, but I was sad to see that after a year, the property was a little shabby on maintenance: light bulbs out, door handles loose, come off in hand, dings in the walls and woodwork, a wonky access keypad. The heating had no individual room controls, so either it was boiling hot or too cold, meaning we had to open windows and French doors to regulate. We like fresh air, but in the wee hours I’d rather be sleeping. The staff, when present, were pleasant enough, but over the holidays there was no one there to address comfort issues, making the stay not worth the price. The Villa was better for me in summertime, but I think I’ll check out some other places for next trip.

Beautiful stay! The property is amazing and I loved the neighborhood.
- 0.5/5
The owner is extremely rude here. None of the pictures match what the room is actually like. The owner called me names upon arrival because I was in a rush to drop my stuff off and check in before heading to an event. Was not at all like advertised and the staff were generally okay, but the owner was the rudest business person I had ever met. On top of it, he is extremely sexist and would only speak to the man with me instead of my female self, except of course to insult me. Also the room we were placed in had a door to outside that does not lock. Was afraid my stuff would be stolen or someone in chiacago would enter in the middle of the night. The owner also did not care about this and instead insisted we did not know how to operate a lock. If that was the case, I don't understand why the owner or a member of the staff couldn't come in an assist with the locking of the door.

Great location where there are few hotels Basement rooms very noisy with water pipes and foot traffic above

We enjoyed our visit and the room was okay but too cold with no control other than covering the floor vent. The Hispanic woman was very helpful in the kitchen and prepared our breakfast. This did not happen the next day since no one was there until after 9am and we had prepared our own breakfast. We enjoyed our visit.
- 5/5
I felt safe there and loved my room- The Milan. Great yoga studio down the street and quick walk for shopping or dining. Don was so helpful with all my many questions. Nice to have coffee and snacks on hand at any hour. Was bummed I had to leave early.

Instructions for the TV not clear as the remote controls was not the same as the directions pictured..//: didn’t watch TV anyway, busy the entire visit…all was great!

Breakfast is help yourself with many choices available and Jan comes in to cook on Friday and Saturday morning, had good weather so sat outside for breakfast Very quiet location and nice surrounding area with plenty of options for restaurants and bars Venetian room was excellent with shower and short walk across the balcony to a hot tub Fullerton station on the L train is 10 minutes walk which gives easy access to the city Owner Don is on hand if required but after a quick chat to check in he will leave you to enjoy your stay unless you need something Code system means no messing around with keys or cards Overall a superb stay
- 4/5
The air conditioning is for the entire building, so if you are a hot or cold sleeper this could be an issue. There is a 2 spot garage parking option, but it's off the alley so your Suburban won't fit.

This renovation of the Classic Victorian age Row House Is exceptional! Located in Chicago’s historic “Old Town” District is as Beautiful inside as well as outside. Private parking is limited, but has ample street parking. The staff is attentive and friendly, looking only to make my stay A pleasant one! Don the Host, offered me guided video tour since I did arrive at a later time. The website is very helpful and accurate With all its accommodation descriptions. The fully stocked kitchen Is capable of creating any Gourmet meal, should you choose to do so! A host is available in the mornings to make sure Breakfast and the Coffee is ready! Great Coffee, and they make a breakfast Pizza that’s out of this world! If you miss Breakfast Coffee, a Starbucks is a ½ Block away. If you come to Chicago, You Must Stay Here! -Scott M. The toilet in the room was extremely dirty. I could tell it hand not been cleaned for months. The furniture was a little beaten up and it seemed like something was biting me while I was sleeping. Definitely not worth $400 a night… do not recommend.
