Guests generally appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms, the helpfulness of the staff, and the convenient location of the hotel. However, some have expressed dissatisfaction with the WiFi, the valet service, and certain aspects of the rooms such as the bathroom door and the lack of an iron and dryer.

Friendly staff, very clean facilities, and valet was quick.

It wasn’t great. The staff wasn’t very helpful and my room was dirty.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere, clean, and helpful staff. The location is king! Millennium park is a short walk away. The Riverwalk is a short walking distance away. Also walgreens and other shopping are really close by. Just a short walk.
- 3/5
the location is good other than that amount of this dollar we have paid it is not worth the expense.. I would not stay there again.
- 5/5
The room was roomy and clean. It had everything I needed - including so much storage space. I would highly recommend The Wit.

I'll start off with the positives and that was the lady that checked us in (name began with a B) and the guy who told us about Chicago (Can't remember his name, maybe Chris or lance? I'm terrible with names) He really helped us a lot as it was our first time in Chicago. To keep it short and to the point my complaints are: - Room did not have a fan in bathroom, nor a microwave. Front desk told us only specific rooms came with the microwave. (spent over 1200 for only 2 nights) lots of left overs wasted. - I picked the hotel because it had nightlife on the rooftop. I wasn't comfortable walking around Chicago to find things to do. The hotel offers so much so I figured have everything right there. When we decided to attempt to enjoy the night life, we were turned away due to the rooftop being booked and no longer open to the public? Very upsetting. Also can't use the elevator after certain time because its filled with drunk people leaving the rooftop bar. I missed my doordash order, I couldn't get to the lobby. - After attending a concert and coming back, a guy at the front told us the rooftop wasn't available and basically wanted us to leave but we were staying there, I had to show him my roomkey. Definitely felt this happened due to our race but he was also the same race. - not their fault but missed plenty Uber's due to construction, i wish the website had a heads up
- 3/5
Our first impression was not good. Staff that checked us in was not friendly at best. Same attitude for checkout. One night, the elevators were not working. No signs. When I returned to front desk, they were laughing and acted like I was an idiot for not knowing. During the 7floor hike to my room, I encountered a man urinating in the stairwell. Luckily these instances were countered by a very nice and clean room. In addition, the staff at the Rooftop bar was amazing and friendly. They should give some tips to front desk. This hotel is nice and has a great location but there are several others in the area to try.

Our room was given to someone else upon arrival. The staff stated our card had declined when in fact, it was a security check from our bank that we did clear, and should have been charged following clearance. We basically arrived and didn’t have a room anymore. I would assume this is fairly common that banks would require customers to verify a transaction in a different city, but instead of reaching out to us, the hotel gave our room to someone else and we were left having to book a different room upon arrival that did not have the amenities we needed for our 5 month old baby.

Clean room. Great staff Valet took forever

We were booked at The wit. We weren’t checking in until later (9pm) so I called around 5pm to see if they could make a note in my reservation that we were a late check in & to not give the room away. They said okay. We get to the hotel around 9 & were told that our room was no longer available & they had no other available. I still give The Wit 3 stars because they were apologetic & vouchered us to a hotel next door. So, a little disappointed, but what can you do?
- 2/5
Two people got stabbed in front of the hotel, the hotel was roped off for several hours by police and newscasters. There are drug dealers on the corner that hang out in front of the hotel as well. As a woman I did not feel safe here. Otherwise the hotel itself was maintained well

I booked this hotel to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, expecting the high-quality service associated with the Hilton brand. Unfortunately, the experience was a disaster from the moment we arrived. At check-in, a young male agent actually yelled at me simply because I asked what floor our room was on. He looked at me with complete disrespect and refused to give me his name. When I demanded to speak to a manager, he refused to call one. I then asked the agent next to him, Daniela, to call a manager, and she also flat-out refused. Having two front desk employees deny a guest access to a manager is a severe violation of basic hospitality. I eventually managed to get a manager on the phone later that day. He apologized for his staff's unacceptable behavior and promised to "make it right" by personally making a reservation for us at the ROOF bar that night to celebrate the birthday. However, his apology was completely empty. When we went up to the rooftop, the hosts had absolutely no reservation under my name. We had a highly embarrassing and frustrating moment at the door. They eventually just let us sit at the bar, completely ignoring the supposed "special reservation" the manager had promised.Instead of saving my girlfriend's birthday celebration, the management made it worse with lies and broken promises. The staff is rude, and the management does not follow through. I absolutely do not recommend staying here

Great place. Great Staff. Great view
- 4/5
If there were ice machines or a canteen for late night convenience it wasn't expressed. Also, if you are not a rewards member do not drink the bottled water as you will be charged. Wifi (paid) not the best, ok. When traveling for shorter stints I will grab toiletries locally, thankfully there are convenience stores quite close as the provided soaps are very strong. Ultimately stay was not for the hotel but for the city experience and that did not disappoint, this location is amazing. Walking, uber, and public transport to everything was A+. Truly the only complaint is the rooftop bar. Overrated and even when not attending there is no delineation between guests and outside patrons. Just going to your room from returning from being out on the town or dinner can be frustrating to get into the hotel you are paying for without being questioned. This seems a selective though. Overall a relatively good stay.

Came for a quick getaway for Mother's Day, and I must say the property is nice. The amenities they have are also nice, especially the gym. I was very impressed by that. The room was clean, and the toiletries they provide were of good quality. Didn't get a chance to indulge in the rooftop scene. Breakfast was nice and fresh and I truly enjoyed it. The bar was ok. I only indulged in mimosas and I must say a stronger champagne is needed. I know it wasn't the bartender, because I saw the generous pour. Things that I did not like about this hotel, is that WiFi had to be paid for, therefore, I did not bother to use, on top of that, the daily hold that they put on your card, is a bit much.
- 2.5/5
Walkable location. Room wasn’t ready til 5pm, battery to door died leaving my teen locked out the room for hours. Staff wouldn’t help him. Steamer didn’t work in room. Construction in front of building made for a traffic nightmare. Loud music from rooftop bar kept me up late.

We had a wonderful stay at the Wit! Upgraded room to a king with a tub for only $13. My only complaint is the perfume machine they have in the lobby. It’s unnerving that they would subject their guests to such a thing when so many people are chemically sensitive, myself being one of those people.
- 5/5
Great Staff, Service & Ambiance. On site breakfast made fresh to order.

Staff was nice, the rooms were peaceful, the area is convenient (busy area, there were construction, but it’s close to everything). The only thing I didn’t know until I arrived was there’s a “resort fee” at the hotel. Very confusing but it didn’t ruin the stay. Overall, a great experience!

The staff was amazing and the room was perfect. The only thing that I would say is the parking fee is outrageous and after actually making the payment it should not take 30 minutes to actually get the car.
- 3.5/5
Lobby and common areas were always clean and staff was always present. Room was semi clean. Found hairs and dirt in some areas in my room which is hard for me to overlook playing $600+ for 2 nights along with a $300 incidental hold. Valet is ridiculous especially since there’s a 45 min. Plus wait to get your vehicle. Staff were a little rude about guests using the carts to bring their luggage down. It almost felt like if you didn’t have valet they weren’t interested in helping or allowing you to use the carts.

The room was great, especially the walk-in shower. Very clean. However, no ice bucket, no pen or note pad, really nothing to use in the room other than TV remote. The staff in the rooftop bar were awesome, as were the bartenders in the State and Lake Restaurant. Excellent food in both. My main complaint with the staff was the response I received from the front desk when checking in. They said there was a resort fee of $25 per day, although I was unaware of this when booking the room. Same for the valet parking, which was $86 a night, instead of the $79 listed online. When I told the girl at the front desk that the valet parking was not what was advertised, she just said "Oh, I'm sorry" and said nothing else. Same for the resort fee. I wasn't happy that my car was pulled around and sitting outside next to the sidewalk when I hadn't even asked for it when I was checking out. I left at 8:00 am, but if I had left at check out time of 12 pm, it would have sat outside for hours with horrible traffic and construction all around. I ended up with a nail in my $500 tire and wasn't able to make it home in a timely manner. Thankfully I had a plan with auto dealer to cover the tire for free, but it took up a lot of time, multiple stops to get home, and I had to drive 150 miles with a spare tire on my car. I realize the construction is not the fault of the hotel, but if the construction on the train station will last 3 years, as I was told, the staff should watch for debris.

My stay was really nice and the rooftop was also pretty cool they had great music and amazing drinks the bartender there was awesome
- 4/5
There was a $150/night hold on my card (so $600 for my 4 night stay) when I checked in that was a big surprise to me. That could potentially ruin someone whole trip if they had it on a bank card and were unaware. Otherwise, our stay was okay. They have some plumbing issues that made the pipes moan very loud when hot was on, but was otherwise quiet even with construction happening outside. All staff members that we interacted with were friendly. The location was perfect - close to public transportation (even with the State/Lake station closed for aforementioned construction) and right across from the Chicago Theater, which was cool. If you pick your room through the Hilton app, pick an odd number room for a possible river view.

Staff were welcoming and accommodating. They answered alll questions I had. Because of how great the service was, I willl definitely be back here

The hotel and the rooms were very clean and fresh. The Staff was very friendly and greeted us coming in and going out. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. I usually don't sleep very good the first night or two in a hotel room but I was out quickly. The rooms were very quiet and we had a room directly across from the elevators which worried me about too much noise but I barely heard anything from inside or outside even from the L train which runs directly outside. Public transportation is extremely close to the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Total Ripoff! They overcharge for everything! I've never stayed at a hotel that actually charges for internet! Yes, they charge a fee per day to use the internet. So ridiculous. The coffee/ coffee maker is in a bottom cabinet on the floor- so you literally have to sit on the floor to make a cup of coffee? Dumb. Then they offer guests a credit to use on in room dining- so we call and verify we can use the credit for in room dining- we're told yes! Then when checking out- we're told that the credit can not be used on in-room dining. Never staying here again! Also, looks way better in photos- everything is cheap and gaudy in person.

Excellent service from staff. Clean rooms and great location
- 4/5
The only downfall here was the valet parking. They give you a ticket to call ahead but then you get to the front and THEN they have someone go get a car 15+ minutes away. Some days only one kid is working and has multiple cars to get and bring back. Obviously not his fault! But the process needs tweaking and is frustrating. Also, wouldn’t necessarily recommend for a family with small kids. But it did what it needed to for our stay.

- 5/5
Would recommend!! Very nice, no complaints.

The staff in hotel restaurant wandered around without any sense of urgency or care. We were there specifically for the waffles or we would’ve left. I watched two tables wait an incredibly long time to be sat by an incredibly aloof hostess only to then sit at their table for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come to the table only to give up and leave. This is the case every time we’ve eaten there. It’s almost as if the theme of the restaurant is “whatever”.
- 4/5
The room was very nice and clean. Housekeeping maintenanced the room perfectly. The food at the restaurant was not seasoned well and there are no microwaves on site which were 2 drawbacks
- 5/5
Great location. Nice staff.
- 1/5
Which lead to a nasty back and forth. We get to the room and it became to a point where we were scared to even leave the room. And then eventually WE get kicked out of the room at one in the morning… because we were such a threat….after being treated how we were treated and the remarks said by that bigoted front desk worker. UNREAL

Overall good experience. My room was not cleaned one of the nights because the maid didn’t come until late but we were already in our room. Also, the $25/night resort fee was not properly explained to me, didn’t make much sense at all honestly. Property is nice and in a great location but i wouldn’t stay here again
- 5/5

The first room I stayed in the roof was leaking and there was shower issues. The second room I was upgraded and it had additional issues. The hotel is old be prepared to the building to shut down in more way than one. House keeping was amazing about cleaning the rooms and the staff was understandable and accommodating.

We spent two nights at this hotel and truly appreciated its location, which is easily accessible on foot to the historic sites we wanted to visit in Chicago. The staff was pleasant and attentive, and the hotel itself was clean and quite comfortable. Our room was lovely, clean, and offered a great view of the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Chicago.
- 4/5
Clean. Friendly staff. Nice room. We had an issue with valet parking - my husband and I both thought the other got the ticket and we left for a boat tour with our car parked in the street. They helped keep it from getting towed by the police- which we obviously really appreciated! Wish the extra fees were included when booking.
- 5/5
Clean, good staff and great location!
- 2/5
Though the proximity to the CTA and area is (generally) good, as there was a major police incident outside the hotel, I would not stay there again. The shampoo in the room was empty, the rooftop lounge was closed for a private event, and there was a water shut off for 5 hours. Although the water shut off was a city issue, the hotel only gave us 1.5 hours notice which was highly inconvenient. It was a planned shut off, so I feel like the hotel mislead us by not revealing this information.

Staff poor. When I checked in, I thought my stay was going to be great. Good check in from there it went downhill. Valet service absolute joke. It took forever to get my car the first night. I couldn’t scan my card and he said i needed to, I replied by responding can you not give me the car if I gave you my number. He was rude. The second day I asked for my car to be ready by 8am as I was dropping my daughter out the airport. I was surprised to see it there, however could not get my keys. I asked staff to go into the room. They said they didn’t have access to my keys or the valet door I thought my keys were in and yet I saw someone going in there. I had to wait 20 minutes for the car. The valet had my keys in there pocket. I have used many valet services over the years never had a place where it’s so disorganized. A simple solution would be have someone stay behind whilst someone else gets the cars. Extra staff required during rush hour especially when they have to double park in an area that is heavy in construction, as the cars parked filled up the space. To charge $86 US was excessive under these circumstances. The other issue was the grill bar connected, was clearly overpriced for food that was clearly bought in. Seemed like bog standard food on a Michelin star price. Sorry for the poor review. Staff very hit of miss. Either extremely nice or extremely rude. Hospitality training needed
- 5/5
The staff was very accommodating and friendly, excellent service all around.
- 5/5
great staff...loved our stay.
- 4/5
Great location and restaurant
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. The location was walking distance to lots of Chicago attractions.
- 1/5
Could not get my room
- 5/5
Excellent stay
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 3/5
My stay was just fine, however I would stay somewhere else the next time I am in town. The main reason was valet parking - it was a 45 minute wait to get our cars and we were told that even though we had flights to catch, there was nothing they could do. Everyone has to wait that long. In addition, valet parking was almost $90 for overnight - just ridiculous.
- 5/5
There are 2 restaurants in this hotel. We had drinks at the one near the lobby and we ate at the ROOF. The food was delish! The environment was fun. We were worried that it was going to be more for the 20 something crowd, but there were adults of every age there. This hotel is also just steps from The Chicago Theatre which makes it super convenient when seeing an event there.
- 3/5
Room was nice, housekeeping everyday did a great job, and staff was top notch. However the wifi connection was slow and did not work well with corporate security policies for working remotely. Also would not recommend the adjoining restaurant State Lake even though we got some breakfast credit there as included in our hotel fees - the credit was $25 per room per day so doesn't actually get you two full breakfasts, service was slow, and I found a hair in my lox bagel one meal.
- 3/5
Hotel is in a decent location. Rooms are pretty good but it’s an older property. Restaurant on site is good and has a bar. The main problem with this hotel is the service…staff are very rude from the valets to the desk it’s pretty consistent. If you care about that don’t stay here otherwise it a good hotel.
- 5/5
And fabulous location.
- 5/5
Room was clean, housekeeping came while we were out and cleaned up for us perfectly, and needs were met
- 4/5
The parking was not what the sign says 24 hours should be from the time you enter until 24 the next day and not 5pm that’s a rip off if you get there later than 5 pm.
- 5/5
Breakfast was not free, we ate at cafe
- 4/5
The room was huge and the layout was excellent, as was the view. Only complaints - bed was too firm for my liking, there was a kitchen but no kitchen or paper towels, and I stepped on a sharp carpet nail.
- 3/5
Check your bill for irregularities in charges.
- 5/5
The room temperature never got down to what we set the thermostat to, so it was a bit warm. We opened the window for a bit which helped. Conditioner was empty. But very cool hotel with a great view, great access to the city, and good on-site bar.
- 2/5
Not very happy - never cleaned room one day - still charged me 6 dollars for 2 x bottles of water. Shame I couldn’t get the water free as they didn’t clean room. Room : hotel is fine. Very hard to check in as the rooftop bar is a bit of a party magnet and we ended up in reception with 100 party goers
- 3/5
First time there and room wasn’t ready when I checked in. Not your casual hotel you can say more of a party event and no drinks or anything in the fridge but a descent view.
- 4/5
Our guests that are not from Chicago there should be some sort of a quick tips handout that gives an overview of the events that are taking place over the next week popular restaurants things that are within walking distance of the hotel
- 5/5
Great stay for our Chicago Marathin experience.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel and friendly helpful staff. Loved staying here. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
The variety of breakfast menu in limited.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Not big fan of the room amenities.
- 5/5
Really great location. Accessible to train lines, shopping area close by, plenty of places nearby to eat. Hotel was great and clean.
- 3/5
I was sad that there was no recycling available anywhere on the property. (I asked at the front desk.) No option to reuse towels; they always launder and replace them. On a warm day, the air conditioner level was set to 65F -- way colder than necessary. Heads up that they require you to pay the $29 resort fee ($25+tax) and say you can put it toward food, but they make it a hard to use. Can't use it for breakfast on check-out day, for example. So if you check in late (after dinner) or don't have dinner at their fancy restaurant, you can't use the fee. I think they should just include it in the price of the room, and show it as part of the cost. It's just a hidden fee.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great location and within walking distance from all shops!
- 5/5
Staff was welcoming, rooms will clean and well serviced.
- 5/5
Clean room

Upon checking in we were charged a deposit 150$ for every night we were staying which is absurd. We were charged 25$ for everyday that could go towards food or drink purchased at the hotel (but not room service??) plus county, state, and city tax for each of those charges. To recoup the 25$ you had to charge it to your room which in the end they didn't even take it off the bill anyway. Extra charging aside the "Rooftop" they advertised as part of the experience of the hotel that you have access to was not available most of the time. It is only available on Tuesday- Thursday between 4-10pm. Our room had no shampoo or condition during our stay and the last 2 days they didn't even come in to clean. The doors are locked at night which is good but there is no card scanner on the outside to get in. We were outside trying to get back in and the lady at the front desk could not be bothered to walk the 15ft to open the door for us. Luckily noticed the faded handicap button and were able to get in. The food at the restaurant is overpriced and under delivers. You can walk around the corner and get way better food for much less. Will not stay here again.
- 5/5
The WIt was everything. The Roof at the Wit, was amazing, be sure to make reservations. I love this hotel and Chicago it was safe and close to everything!!
- 3/5
Positives: Room service and concierge were excellent—responsive and accommodating to anything we needed. The central location is convenient if you want to be right in the heart of the city. Concerns: The lobby and common areas were constantly overcrowded, especially on weekend nights, due to the rooftop traffic. It made the atmosphere hectic rather than relaxing. Valet service was extremely slow. Even after calling 30 minutes ahead as instructed, we still waited close to an hour for our car. I’d recommend calling at least an hour in advance. Access to the rooftop was disappointing. Despite booking a high-level suite on the 20th+ floor, we were told we needed to pay an additional $200 for access. Once we finally got up there, it was nearly empty—adding to our frustration. Overall, the stay lacked the sense of exclusivity and amenities you’d expect when paying this rate. Bottom Line: While we made the best of our stay, the value simply wasn’t there. For the same investment, you can find more luxurious hotels in Chicago that provide better amenities, less confusion, and a more seamless experience. Unfortunately, we would not choose The Wit again.
- 5/5
The room was perfect and the front staff were exceptional. Our stay was amazing!
- 5/5
Convenient location for what we were doing. Highly suggested if you are going to a show at the Chicago Theater.
- 5/5
Great hote
- 5/5
First time but won’t be the last. Very nice place with lots to do right around there.
- 5/5
No problems
- 5/5
Matthew at the front desk was great & he made our stay better than we could’ve expected. The food from the restaurant was amazing (highly recommend the wings) and the bartenders are wonderful! Our room was a dream! 100/10! ⭐️ We will definitely be returning for our next Chicago stay!
- 3/5
We were quite disappointed with our room view. Upon arrival, we initally booked a room with a city view and asked if there were any river views available. We were told they had a river view available, but when we went to our room we had views of parking lots and other buildings. They didnt look into it or address the issue when we brought up the matter. Will not be staying at this hotel again.
- 5/5
Great location, great service
- 5/5
This was by far the BEST Hotel!!!
- 5/5
The hotel has a very cool modern vibe. Room was beautiful. Staff was friendly and attentive.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel and staff were pleasant. The area is okay but if you go a block over it is nicer. The river walk is very close and inviting.
- 4/5
Room wasn’t as big as advertised, everything else was great
- 3/5
Ok hotel, very pricey
- 5/5
Everything was nice!!
- 5/5
The service was excellent, they made my birthday very special!
- 5/5
Great! Just watch out for the additional fees when checking out.
- 5/5
It was a great location and very nice hotel with lots to offer.
- 1/5
It was too much noise inside the room, with others play music and talk until 2:00 a.m
- 5/5
Just enjoyed our first time in Chicago. This is an ideal spot and we walked to most of the places we needed to go. The staff was amazing in every area of the hotel. I highly recommend staying at TheWit!
- 5/5
Restaurant in the hotel is always good option and hotel location is walkable to many. Always fun to eat at the
- 5/5
The staff was great.
- 5/5
Excellent location and top notch staff. Cleanliness also excellent.
- 5/5
Very clean. Great location.
- 5/5
Good food and views and tub 10/10
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
We sat in the lobby restaurant Sunday for southern bites while Blues duo played for 3 hours. Service allowed us to enjoy the music without being intrusive or rushing, so wonderful. Rooftop bar/ restaurant has great DJ music…had cocktails and fire oven pizza while enjoying the evening view approach.
- 5/5
Great location and beautiful hotel with nice rooms and awesome rooftop!
- 1/5
Do not valet. They charge $100 a night for parking.
- 5/5
Staff are great, Prince David was great checking us in. Love the restaurant, grrat food/staff. Location is perfect!
- 4/5
It was in the middle of everything i needed to do. Staff was friendly and great.
- 5/5
The location was awesome and we will be back. The front desk staff was truly professional, with Charlotte and Price!! They were awesome!! See you all next time.
- 3/5
It's really a problem that the elevators are prioritized for people going to the rooftop vs guests of the hotel. We had to wait as several elevators took people to the rooftop while guests were standing there waiting on an elevator. Really disappointing.
- 5/5
The staff was helpful and kind. We were able to check in early and our room was clean, spacious, very comfortable bed, great view and location to walk to everything along Michigan Avenue.
- 5/5
I stayed in the King Spa soaker tub room and when I say it’s perfect. The soaker tub was so deep and comfortable. The view into the city was amazing. The Roof at the Wit was a nice time. The view was amazing, the staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend. It is a walkable area, close to riverwalk, about 30min walk to the Navy Pier and lots of restaurants and stores are close by.
- 3/5
I didn’t do my homework. This is a party hotel and the lobby waiting room to get to the rooftop bar was too much (for me anyway). Also had late night party goer in the room next to me who would get back at 3am and loudly yell at an ex on the phone for an hour. Avoid if you are a work traveler or over 35 or have a family. But go if you aren’t!
- 4/5
The only downside was how crowded it felt around the entrance and lobby. Everything else was excellent and I would come back.
- 5/5
Loved the bar/restaurant and rooftop bar
- 5/5
The hotel was very nice. The spa inside the hotel is very overpriced.
- 5/5
This is right across the street from the river walk. They keep your bags so you can go explore. It’s right by everything!!!
- 4/5
We had a wonderful time at The Wit. The hotel is clean, nicely decorated, and centrally located in the Theater District. I feel that we got good value for the rate. That said, our room was not cleaned once over our 5 night stay, which was a first for me. Although we did sleep in each morning, we were out of the room at least 10 hours each day. The beds are also extremely firm and the pillows flat, which is not for everyone (esp. those of us who are side sleepers). We ended up purchasing $10 pillows at Target and that helped. It also gets very busy on the weekends due to the stellar rooftop. We were worried about the noise, but it was fine on the 18th floor. My son really enjoyed it and says he would give it 4.5 stars - esp. because he could watch Bluey on the TV. Overall, it was good enough, but Iwould try a different spot on a return trip.
- 1/5
The hotel was not transparent about the noise from the roof top bar . We did not get any rest the first night . Manager Rami said he would make things right and avoided us the entire time after we sent an email about our concerns . DO NOT STAY HERE! We paid over 2k for three nights and Rami gave us a $50 credit . A slap in the face . Total disappointment .
- 5/5
Large, clean, updated rooms. Got in early morning, so very grateful for early check in and very responsive front desk. Hip atmosphere and comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect.
- 4/5
Our room was nice. The hotel concierge staff was attentive. Maid service was subpar. We repeatedly asked for replacement items and only half were fulfilled. Great central location, but unsure if we will return because of lacking maid service.
- 4/5
Generally good
- 5/5
The hotel was fine. But between the bed being the hardest bed ever and the music from the roof top club we didn't get much sleep.
- 5/5
loved my stay wish they did have a microwave and ice machine
- 2/5
It was probably a bad time to stay here, but did not have access to the rooftop restaurant which was the main reason I chose this restaurant. I was disappointed I was charged an extra fee that I could use at its restaurant, which was a huge loss since I went elsewhere for a rooftop experience then left early the next morning Also, it's unbelievable that they charge for wifi and I had very poor phone signal.
- 5/5
I loved this hotel. It was absolutely beautiful!
- 4/5
In my opinion you are paying for the convenience. The location hotel is perfect. You pretty much can walk to shopping centers and stores. The rooftop is awesome but is hard to get into because of outside reservations.
- 5/5
Nice room and view. Rooftop was gorgeous
- 5/5
Love this place
- 4/5
The hotel was in an amazing area. Close to everything, we walked to the river and lots of bars and restaurants. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because of the Roof top bar/restaurant. Was extremely disappointed when 2 of the portions of this area were blocked off for private events, so we couldn't even go outside or see the area. That was a HUGE disappointment. We also paid for breakfast within the hotels.com app but we definitely didn't get breakfast included. We had to pay an additional $60 for this. Which was also a bummer. Overall the hotel was very well kept, clean, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. And the big soaker bathtub was BOMB!
- 4/5
Close to the sites we were going to and the price was reasonable.
- 5/5
The location of the hotel is excellent. One block from the river walk and just next to the train station for several lines. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Restaurant and Roof bar were both great. Staff friendly and helpful. We will definitely reccomend this hotel to friends and family.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
The area was ok, the staff was also ok. When our door wouldn't open because the battery died it didn't really seem like they wanted to help, more of an inconvenience that we asked and didn't believe us that we knew how to use a key, when it was in fact the door battery. The Maintenace guy though was awesome in helping us with the door and the bathroom door because it also almost shut us in due to it coming off the hinge and almost locking me inside the bathroom, so he was caring and helped a lot. With the many choices in downtown, I wouldn't choose to stay here again. Also I thought there was a swimming pool here, I was sadly mistaken.
- 5/5
The Wit is an upscale hotel that I enjoyed visiting. They are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Chicago. If you want to ride the subway there is a station right outside of the hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful, they even followed up with me after checking in and throughout my stay.
- 5/5
The rooftop…which is mostly enclosed with lots of windows?
- 3/5
I arrived today at 12:35 PM and I understand check-in is at 4:00 PM. I was told I’d receive a text message when the room was ready because they were going to start cleaning it then, but I never received one. I had to wait around until I was finally able to check in. Once I got to the room and unpacked to get ready for a shower, I found hair in the shower, which was very disappointing.
- 3/5
It was close to the Chicago Theater. I felt safe. Unhappy that they charged for wifi. Room was too warm.

A very convenient hotel for accessing downtown locations. Quality, clean, and comfortable room. Very friendly and supportive staff. Would stay here again for future trips!
- 5/5
The service response and help I received from Shannon McKinney the Business Travel Sales Manager and Zachary at the concierge desk were exceptional! We had a transportation dilemma and Shannon worked with us and resolved it! The hotel location is excellent, right next to the train stop from Midway and everything we wanted.
- 5/5
Great hotel looking forward to coming back!! Soon

Staff were ultra friendly and helpful!

Great spot in the heart of the city

Great property !

When we arrived the front desk person was very nice. But after hours the front desk was the worst. She was not polite. I paid $850 for one night to get treat like motel. Definitely never coming back to this hotel ever again.. my girlfriend and I need it water and she didn’t even talk us and keep ignoring.
- 5/5
Excellent

I loved my stay at The Wit. It was a convenient walk to everything. Great location, great staff!
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful & the room was comfortable & very clean
- 5/5
It was nice
- 3/5
The parking situation was atrocious, everything else was fine.
- 5/5
The staff at the Wit hotel were so helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean with a great view. I will definitely be staying here during my next Chicago trip!
- 5/5
We arrived in CHI around 8 am caught the O-line (orange line) From Midway literally to the front door of the wit for $5. We were able to check in immediately. Zach or Zack the young man who helped us was incredibly professional and kind. He was very helpful with suggestions of what to see and eat. The property is walkable to ALL of the attractions. The hotel was kind enough to keep our bags after check out while we explored the city more since we had a late flight. The property has a beautiful rooftop restaurant. The food was just ok. There are so many food options in the city, save your money and go to one of those.Overall the hotel was nice, clean, quiet and convenient. Perfect for our 39 hour visit. I can't wait to go back.
- 5/5
Staff is amazing, especially the people that deal with in-rooming dining!

The rooftop was very nice
- 5/5
This view from the room was amazing
- 5/5
Great location . Great hotel
- 5/5
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Location was wonderful. We were close to all our favorite spots.
- 5/5
I like the restaurant and rooftop bar
- 5/5
Very nice hotel and staff. Great dining and drinks. Valet parking is overpriced at $86/per day for overnight parking. In room temperature controls didn’t work properly, but overall great experience and would come back.
- 1/5
We were checked in by a lady who gave me my room keys. As we got to our floor we immediately got in the shower and then someone walked in our room. They gave us the wrong room. We went back downstairs and the person who checked us in pretended that she didn’t know or didn’t check us in when we literally checked in 15 mins prior. Very unfortunate experience.
- 5/5
Everyone was great
- 5/5
Hotel is gorgeous and dining options are amazing! Very convenient and nice location in Chicago and there's a train stop literally around the corner. Fantastic experience!
- 5/5
Amazing stay, staff was excellent, wish the valet wasn’t so expensive, or atleast I wish there was more accessible parking near the hotel.
- 5/5
Beautiful room with an outstanding view! Great desk service. Great restaurants. Hotel located near much to do. Paid for parking nearby in walking distance through SpotHero.
- 4/5
It would be a perfect 5 star review but the person in a connecting room next to mine was smoking in his room and it was seeping into my room through the connecting door. Bummer!!
- 5/5
Nice, friendly, quiet, and very clean room
