Super tired after a multi hour drive we couldn’t even take a shower or change clothes. Had to wait for 2 hours (!). When we finally stepped in the room, our luggage was not there even though they had said it would be taken care of. Called the reception, reminded them. 30 minutes later (!!) we finally got our stuff. They did offer a “credit for the inconvenience”. $150 which didn’t even cover the 2-night parking. That’s it. No complimentary upgrades, breakfast, drinks or something to make it less annoying. Is this a 5 star hotel experience? You decide Also, the cocktails at the bar are very expensive and very meh in terms of taste

    Usually 5 star experience. My husband booked a room for us, and was supposed to meet me there after flying in from a business trip in London. Staff allowed my to check my bag and kind enough to provide me with a complimentary drink ticket for the bar. Later that night, my world as I knew it came to an abrupt end when I got the call that my husband was not on the flight, but had taken his own life earlier that day. After being in complete shock and still trying to process this nightmare, I requested to speak to the manager. He stood there in the lobby, not even giving me the grace of a seated private conversation, so that I could tell him and a gaggle of complete strangers the worst news of my entire life to which he responded, “We offer you our condolences” then proceeded to walk me out to give me my bag back and threw me into the cold rain. I was a broken man in that moment and sought some level of compassion from what used to be mine and my husband’s “heaven on earth” hotel, then treated like a vagrant unworthy of their opulence.

    Everything was a 10/10. I was a bit upset that the lounge was at capacity because we pretty much booked our trip around the lounge being available and there was nothing on the app here stating that the lounge was not available so if that could be implemented, that would be great other than that the room service was amazing. Housekeeping was perfect. The views were beautiful. I will definitely be back.

    I actually came to Chicago to see a concert, I had bought the tickets and the air travel and knew I was going to stay at the Langham but FORGOT to reserve the room! The staff worked with me for 1/2 an hour to shoehorn me into the almost capacity hotel for 2 nights! Amazong

    The Highlights There is no denying the luxurious details throughout the property. From the stunning Jaume Plensa statue in the lobby to the elegant touch of a harp player in the tea room, the hotel looks and feels the part of a prestige establishment. Furthermore, the location is absolutely perfect for exploring the city, and the service was consistently attentive and professional. The Atmosphere Despite the high-end decor, the hotel suffers from a lack of charm and energy. It felt quite "boring" for a property of this caliber. We visited the restaurant twice over the weekend, and even during peak times, it wasn't particularly lively. For a 5-star experience, you expect a bit of atmosphere, but the vibe here was remarkably flat. Dining The food was hit-or-miss. We tried several appetizers, and while some were fine, others missed the mark on refinement. For example, the cheese plate was humongous but lacked the curation and quality of cheeses you would expect at a world-class hotel. Final Verdict The Langham is a safe, high-quality choice, but it ultimately felt overpriced. It is an upscale but very quiet hotel. If you are looking for a vibrant stay, you might find this a bit too clinical.

    The noise was severe. Despite being listed as soundproof, our junior suite on the 10th floor was incredibly loud. We’ve stayed in many major cities (and lived in some). But have not experienced this level of disruption from sirens, car alarms, horns, and blasting music from passersby all night. The blackout curtains are thin and don't reach the floor, offering little sound buffering. This is a far cry from the double-glazed windows and heavy drapes you'd expect from a hotel marketing itself as soundproof. The motion-sensor system controlling all lights and HVAC was also a safety concern. If you're still for too long (say, soaking in the bathtub), the entire room goes pitch black. Even the bathroom night light turns off on a timer. We asked the staff to disable this, and they said they did, but the problem persisted. For the price of a 5-star hotel, these issues brought the experience down to a 3-star stay. It's a shame, because so much else was genuinely excellent. We’d return, but only if these issues are addressed.

    This luxurious hotel is absolutely outstanding. The hotel is clean and the customer service is exceptional. The club lounge is worth every penny. We were treated like royalty and the staff went out of their way to make sure our experience was a 10 out of 10. We were able to enjoy the movie, sweet and watch home alone, and it was fully stocked.

    The hotel is beautiful and the staff welcoming us was top notch. The reason I knocked off a star is because we picked the double bed option. I did not read the fine print and was expecting two queen beds instead of two full beds. We did not get much sleep both nights due to the lack of space in the beds. Had I known this, I would have looked to book a one bedroom suite. Just beware if you have kids that it’s a tight fit. Women’s locker room had some missing tile in various areas that was unexpected. Our room also had looked like it needed sweeping in some of the corners where some debris was missed. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel and we would stay again. Smelled fantastic, but just a few things that I felt missed the mark for a Michelin star hotel. Great location and we will be back again.

    The Langham is quite possibly the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff were absolutely amazing and the hotel itself was so clean. The hallways smelled so good too which I know is a weird observation but the wood they used for the floors and doors were so aromatic and it was something my party noticed. Our mini-fridge wasn't working (or we were just dumb) but within 5 minutes of letting the staff know, we had an entirely new one. Stellar service!

    Very nice, comfortable and luxurious stay in downtown Chicago. Location is great, very close to river walk, restaurants, shopping and transportation. Staffs are very attentive. Recommend club floor for a complete experience.

    So we came here for a quick night and the experience was better than what I saw on Expedia itself. The pool was unexpectedly not so cold. The hot tub was super relaxing. We ordered food from the pool room and surprisingly it didn't take long. The room was spacious, bath was fancy. The best parts were that someone randomly gave us cookies for free in our room! Also figured out that there are kids robes!!!! First hotel I've ever seen that has kids robes!!!!! I definitely recommend this hotel!!!!!

    Chose the langham based on excellent spa reviews. When we went down to the spa the pool was full of kids and water was everywhere. It was the opposite of a spa environment. We asked to be sure we weren’t in the wrong area and the person we spoke to in the spa did not care one bit about the state of the pool and hot tub area. We listened to children next door and woke up extremely early the next morning to kids again and a screaming toddler. The outlets near the vanity were loose and had to be held in place in order to use a dryer or anything else plugged in. Called twice to the front desk and the phone rang and rang. Not the experience we were expecting or hoping to have and after the response from the spa associate and unanswered call we didn’t bother to talk to someone else. This felt like an upscale holiday inn at Disneyland

    I had an excellent experience at Chuan spa. My 2 day stay at the hotel was excellent. All service members were attentive and prompt, especially the night front desk, night valet and Edna, the spa attendant. I quite enjoyed my spa services. Private dining food options were great, and on time. Price point lined up with the services received.

    I've been to Chicago a few times in the last year, the Langham has been far and away the best experience, and was likely my best hotel experience to date.     The property is beautiful, but I requested a rollaway bed a month in advance, a week in advance, and when I first checked in and told I was going to have one. When I got to the room and called to make sure it was coming, housekeeping told me they were out of them.
