The owner saw that we were in distress due to some canceled flights and a very stressful situation at the airport so we were very worn out. While we were waiting for our Uber back to the airport at 4:30 AM, he offered us each a bottle of juice to help. He was kind to us.

Booked last minute when lodging fell through elsewhere, was pleasantly surprised at how clean, quiet and well maintained the hotel was.
- 4/5
Friendly staff very helpful It was far away from my destination. ( my own fault!)
- 5/5
The staff at this Super 8 over the past week were very helpful and Harry at the front desk was great and helped us with our parking needs. This was greatly appreciated! Great place to stay! Highly recommend! Harry is the best too and was understanding of our larger utility vehicle parking needs. Thx!!

This spot is a GEM. It is along the path of Lake Michigan. The neighborhood is superb and parking was private. There was $100 incidental charge. No pets BUT my family and I loved the area. It is clean and quiet. The elevator is super small. There was a decent breakfast with juices, coffee, yogurts, honeybuns, muffins, pancakes, oatmeal etc. It was very decent. We passed on an AirBnB and chose this stay after 8PM to have a place to lay our head. It was the BEST switch up we didn't ask for. I felt as if God intervened on our behalf. The AirBnB was VERY questionable and we decided against staying in the area after checking it out. THIS motel will be my family's go to spot when visiting Chicago. I loved the stay. The elevator was one of the smallest I've ever seen.

The kiosk check in is beyond stupid. It took FOREVER. Almost a half hour just to check in. I’ve never stayed anywhere where this is the standard. There was somebody at the front desk the entire time. Why can’t a real person just check me it?

Located where we needed to be. Clean room. Parking is ok, at least it’s included! Checkin via a video call station was a bit frustrating due to tech issues and language barrier.

Rooms very dirty… has ants in them. The staff was rude! This is why it’s alway empty

I like how they didn't charge us for parking.

Great place for what I needed - a nice room close to where I needed to go the following day. Add in friendly staff and I was very pleased - thank you.
- 3/5
The gentleman that checked me is in was very courteous and helpful. But the hotel needs a complete renovation. The toilet is for pre-schoolers, the shower belongs in an RV. And the electrical things like lights and fans are a disaster waiting to happen.

It had gone downhill since our last stay. The painting of the walls was sloppy. Ceramic toilet was cracked, as was the sink. The screws to the door of the bathroom at been ripped out. There was an odor in the room.
- 5/5
It’s about about a 20 minute walk to Loyola which was not terrible I felt safe in the walk there and back. Check in was easy and staff is very nice I was able to leave my car on premises while visiting the university which was a plus for me.
- 4/5
The hotel had parking, tho not for a large vehicle. The residential neighborhood was OK. It was any easy 3 block walk to a beach shore. It was easy to get around from the hotel. The hotel was clean though pretty old. The beds were comfy and everything worked except the security lock on the door and the shower was either cold or hot. It was also quiet.
- 5/5
Affordable rooms for Chicago with free parking a blocak and a half from Lake Michigan, need I say more?
- 4/5
Shower and toilet could use updating
- 5/5
convenient location could use some updates but it was clean.

And Bathroom is outdated. Water pressure was terrible and hand held shower was cheap.
- 5/5
A quiet neighborhood in Chicago, within walking distance of a beautiful sand beach on the lake, is hard to come by. This hotel provides clean, budget-quality lodging and covers your basic needs to sleep and shower, leaving you free to explore the wonders of Chicago. Free parking is included. Nothing snazzy or fancy here. It is a five-minute walk to the lake-side beach/park, the "L". and the nearest coffee shop or pub/eatery. My husband and I stayed for four nights and found NOTHING to complain about!
- 2.5/5
No breakfast. No do the beds. No change towels.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and professional. Property was clean and definitely felt it was worth what we had paid.
- 1/5
There was no hot water or water pressure. The hotel is used as a homeless shelter. I dont have a problem with that but the homeless people was begging for money all the time
- 5/5
The front desk receptionist (Syed I believe) was super attentive, welcoming, and displayed incredible professionalism when encountering difficult situations. It was clear he took pride in providing a great customer experience. The location was nice as well because it was close to the Jarvis stop, which made it easy to travel on the El. Overall, a great stay. It was fine. Nothing bad to report on.

The people next to my room was smoking in a non smoking flooor. When we arrived our room smelled like smoke and we have a 3 months old baby. Although the person in the front desk told them to stop, the whole floor and our room was already smelly. Next day a homeless person smelling terrible rented one of the room, the smell was so bad and strong I couldn’t take the elevator.

Hotel is in Rogers Park and is close to the Jarvis Red Line 'L' stop. Hotel advertised a simple breakfast but the only thing provided was an in-room coffee maker. Hotel was adequate for our needs.
- 2/5
Dirty very slow draining sink and tub. Poor water pressure. Like really bad water pressure. Burnt holes in the sheets. Very slow elevator and it was pretty gross as well.

- 2.5/5
The front desk. The "breakfast". The too old elevator.
- 2/5
It’s a very cheap but overpriced motel, for nearly $200 per night I hoped it will be better. Nobody came to clean the room in 3 days, and the train ride to town is almost 1 hour.
- 3.5/5
the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. lobby was small and cramped and old

- 4/5
Front desk guy was very polite.great customer service 2 me and my guest!😁
- 2/5
The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating, but the property itself, although clean is older and in need of update
- 4/5
Property is DEFINITELY old and in need of repairs, but it is close to Lake Michigan and is decently priced compared to the competition nearby. It is also a few minute walk from the train station that can take you across most of north chicago. Really week shower heads and minimal amenities but its enough for a basic work stay, wouldnt recommend for more than two people. Also A/C is weak. Hopefully they renovate soon it could be an amazing spot.
- 3/5
Property is in nice location. I needed two days at Loyola. 4 minutes. Free secure parking. Seems to be upgraded to all new bedding towels etc. quiet rooms. Little expensive for what it is. I was just looking for a safe place to lay my head. Staff was very nice and competent!
- 2/5
The room was clean but smell bad.
- 4/5
A nice property just over priced for what it is. Smoking rooms were clean-enough just the floor was so dirty I had to wear socks or my feet would get black. Biggest issue I had was loud neighbors at 3am. Playing loud music and otherwise. Other then those things mentioned I would highly suggest this property.
- 5/5
Outside of the building looks like a dump so I got a little nervous when I pulled up but the room was much nicer.
- 4/5
Convenient to the L train and Downtown Chicago (Wrigley Field, Millennium Park on the same red line so no transfers) Basic rooms, quiet, and semi-secure parking on main level. Recommend!
- 3/5
Got the reservation last minute. Was a good value for what I needed
- 3/5
The 80's was screaming for their carpet back. Entertainment center was beaten up pretty bad. AC did not efficiently keep the room cool. Beds weren't all the comfortable either. Especially for the price of the room. Other than that, it was ok. I mean nothing I would really praise about our stay. Other than the staff. They were excellent. Even gave us a courtesy wake up call.
- 3/5
There's a convenience store across the street. A two block walk puts you on the shore of Lake Michigan. There are restaurants within walking distance and of course, this being Chicago, within an easy drive you'll find just about any cuisine in the world.
- 5/5
The staff answered all questions politely and completely. Room was truly non-smoking, everything worked and was clean and the bed was in good condition. I was flying in late to attend a graduation ceremony. Flew into Midway to the "L" in then bought a day pass to get around the next day. It was a nice safe feeling walk to and from the hotel and super convenient.
- 4/5
Very quiet neighborhood. Dated but clean and friendly. 4 blocks to El.
- 4/5
Free parking is a big plus. Room was very clean. The problem with the stay was that the fire alarm went off 3 different times after midnight. When we called the front desk, the staff was unclear as to what was causing it. We didn't know if it was a fire or just a malfunction. My husband had to walk the hall to check that there was no emergency. We didn't get much sleep. There was also a man walking the hallway alone with a backpack on when we got to our room that night around 9 pm. No idea what was going on. He just walked around the hallway and stood around for a lengthy period of time. Made us feel unsafe. Despite the good condition of the motel, it is unlikely we will return on subsequent visits to Rogers Park.
- 2/5
The room was clean..only positive other than pleasant front desk.
- 2/5
No housekeeping. No lobby. Elevator with temporary and conditional inspection certificate. No breakfast possible. Porcelain in tub chipped.
- 4/5
Location is great. It's definitely an old building. They still allow smoke which we didn't smell unless on that floor. Was quiet. Staff was extremely friendly. Parking was easy and FREE!
- 4/5
A somewhat shabby exterior/hallways belies the very clean, up-to-date room we had; will be staying here again.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Clean room. Easy check in and out. Five minute walk to red line train.
- 3/5
Decent place for a nights sleep. The walls are a little thin and the water pressure could be better but the price was reasonable. Seemed like the property had some weird rules posted about not having guests in the rooms but nobody bothered me.
- 3/5
The bed was amazing and comfortable and room was very large, but the smell made the stay far from satisfactory.
- 2/5
The young man working the desk was extremely pleasant, efficient, and helpful. The hotel itself is just very run down, could use some minor updating - even fresh coat of paint. The room and area wasn’t filthy, but not clean. Probably hasn’t been used in awhile.
- 4/5
Super 8 is conveniently located, near the train station. As an older, smaller hotel, it is doing fine. Light breakfast available. Excellent customer service. They were willing to hold my luggage all day as I had arrived very early. Nice evening personnel, too.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was outdated with bathroom lights that didn't work. Bed was clean and comfortable. The site could use some moderization and overhaul.
- 4/5
It was a good value, given its proximity to the lakefront. Quiet and clean. Room had an odor (tolerable) which should have been noticed and addressed by housekeeping, Only one washcloth and hand towel provided.
- 3/5
Bathroom faucet barely had water pressure & enough water quantity to brush teeth. Morning breakfast was inadequate.
- 5/5
The manager was great!
- 4/5
The hotel was nice and clean, older, but well maintained. They were short staffed and continental breakfast consisted of a cup of juice or coffee and prepackaged cinnamon roll.
- 3/5
Checked in only to be told they gave away our king bed room. We had to settle for 2 queens, very disappointed. Also the breakfast was a basket of sketchy looking apples and coffee (which my husband said was bad).
- 1/5
This hotel is DISGUSTING. We actually left and went down the street because it felt extremely unsafe. I wouldn’t ever stay here.
- 5/5
Pleasant experience and everything was to be expect or slightly better. Except for the missing drawers in the dresser but wasn’t using it, just noticed it like hmm weird.
- 5/5
Close to the Jarvis Red line station.
- 4/5
Location, location, location. One block off the beach with a lovely park. Just north of Loyola campus. Quite, nice casual restaurants and pubs. 2 miles from Evanston Space and 5 miles from Wrigley. Will be back for more.
- 4/5
The building and rooms are older but served our needs for a place to sleep and take a hot shower.
- 3/5
Location was good. Room was clean and quiet. King bed was comfy. Fridge and microwave. Worst Lobby ever. Immediately turned off by tiiny lobby. very unwelcoming.
- 2/5
Very difficult and confusing parking out front. Smelled of cigarette smoke and pot at front desk and in hallways. Rust around bathroom fixtures.
- 3/5
Rooms were adequate, but had a musty odor. In general the place wreaked of marijuana throughout the hallways. Free parking was helpful, but the space is small and hard to navigate. Service at front desk was good. Advertised included breakfast was not available (pandemic reasons) so this should be updated in listing.
- 2/5
. I selected this hotel only becoz of the availability breakfast , however it was not the case Very disappointing
- 4/5
Convenient, quiet and clean. Needs a renovation
- 3/5
Place was a bit run down for the cost. Location is great, but definitely a two star or less property.
- 4/5
This hotel is old and could use updated but it’s clean, comfortable and convenient. I’ve stayed there many times when I’m town for Cubs game and it’s always been a great, safe experience.
- 4/5
The location was great, close to the beach and a quick drive to Wrigleyville. The property could use some updates. It’s an older building. It was comfortable and a good value. The staff members were efficient and friendly.
- 2/5
Rather uninterested staff. Not very helpful with information on surrounding restaurants etc. Room has distinct unpleasant/ musty odour GenerL interior appearance shabby.
- 4/5
This was a perfect location for me and my son on our short Chicago stay. Close enough to activities and Wrigley but far enough to avoid a lot of the heavy crowds. Area was safe and clean. I’d stay again.
- 4/5
The staff was friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My shower was terrible but that is my only complaint.
- 3/5
The room was very hot and took a long time to cool off. The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure could have been better.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and accomadating
- 4/5
Covid is a poor excuse now to not have a continental breakfast
- 4/5
Near the lake and a nice park. Cool. But the weather didn’t cooperate
- 2/5
Our first rooms air did not work and the bathroom shower was tiny and leaked water from everywhere. They moved us to another room that was better but the air was loud and would not shut off manually
- 4/5
No shelf in bathroom for toiletries!
- 4/5
Due to Covid, amenities were limited.
- 5/5
Great Staff. Convenient location
- 4/5
Because of Covid the dining room was closed so no continental breakfast, which was disappointing, but not surprising. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will be back when we come to Chicago again! :)
- 1/5
They charged me 3 times for one night room was filthy
- 4/5
Not bad at all. Wish it was a little bit cheaper, but it was a clean room w/cable and safe parking.
- 4/5
Clean location. Covered parking. Comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Very close to restaurants and shopping . On-site parking
- 1/5
Small, old, no breakfast but ads said breakfast included. Not worth the price.
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly
- 4/5
Decent, clean. Can’t beat the price. I would go again. Specially if I get a deal
- 5/5
It’s great. Reasonable rates, clean rooms, free parking and WiFi. Can’t beat it.
- 2/5
Room was tiny and dark. It was supposed to have a queen bed but it was only a full. There were no luggage carts available. Parking was chaotic and very poorly lit. The breakfast offerings were poor. On the plus side, the people were very nice and friendly.
- 3/5
It got the job done but the bedsheets had a couple holes and the room smelled like cigarettes so for the price the stay wasn’t anything special.
- 3/5
Outdated , dusty otherwise clean . Parking was a little challenging to get out. Front desk at check in was nice with good customer service. Got charge a couple dollars extra from my original bill when made my reservation something to do with earth environment friendly initiative. Breakfast was nothing special , could be better for a $100 one night stay.
- 2/5
The staff was very friendly but the condition of the room was very poor and not worth what we paid. The drywall was falling from the ceiling, there were bugs living under the air conditioner, the tv didn’t work at first, and the window was broken so there was a draft all night. Parking and ease of access to vehicle were very easy. Neighborhood felt safe.
- 4/5
Great location. Easy in and out. Clean room, comfortable bed and bedding. The bathrooms are dated, but given it is the only hotel in the area, I would for sure stay there again.
- 5/5
Everything was very comfortable and stylish. Service was helpful. Breakfast good too.
- 4/5
Nice area to walk in the morning.
- 4/5
Clean but basic. Great location. Love the off street parking
- 4/5
It was a good
- 2/5
This hotel/motel is in a good neighbor north of the loop, convenient to Loyola and other northside destinations. It has onsite free parking which is great in Chicago, however; for a pick-up truck the maneuvering on the lot and in the garage was a bit tricky. The lobby is very small, no public restrooms, small breakfast area with limited choices, and the staff could not tell us about allergen concerns in breakfast items. The stairway and elevator is very small and there was no handrail on the first flight of stairs. Our room size was great with two beds, fridge, microwave and TV, however; you could not use the microwave and watch TV at the same time. The room looked clean but smelled fairly bad even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Ok place to stay a night if on a budget, but we ended up leaving a day early, skipping our second night, as we just were not enjoying our stay. We walked along Sheridan Road stopping at several playgrounds/parks with small beaches that were really fun.
- 4/5
The location is great if you're looking to be close to the lake with free parking! Easy enough to drive into the city or get on the metra. The building and its rooms are definitely old. Have a slight old smell. It has an A/C unit, but it worked great. Overall, I would consider it again if I'm looking for value.
- 1/5
i never got, a chance to stay at the property, We were very unhappy with the location. it was too far from Grant Park, on the south loop. of what we specifically asked, the customer service rep, about. And also, we wanted a hotel with a pool, of which we were told had one. But once speaking with the manager, on duty that day and him assuring us that he would not charge, the credit card, because we didn't not sign for our stay, there especially once the manager stated that we were at least 45min away from Grant Park, near the south loop.
- 2/5
This hotel is very old and dirty
- 1/5
The hotel offered very good covered parking spots.
- 3/5
Wifi was not working for 3 days. The front desk was notified every day it was out as we were there for a conference. Finally we were told that it’s very expensive to have someone come out to fix it. Not cool.
- 3/5
The location was perfect for us. The floor in the room was uneven, the TV did not work, and we were disappointed that breakfast way only available until 9:00. However, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and we enjoyed our weekend in Chicago.
- 3/5
Excellent location. We had minimal interaction with the efficient staff. Facility was kinda crusty -the shower wall was crumbly, the room door jammmed, the hallway air was stale/stuffy. Couldnt open the widow in the room. No breakfast protein other than yogurt. TV remote didnt always work
- 3/5
Friendly staff, nice location and a fair price for a room. But the building and rooms need some serious renovation. Rooms were dark and cramped.
- 2/5
The smell was terrible ,shower head was to low,no coffee.
- 3/5
Toilet had a leak and when we brought it to the front desk clerk's attention he came and looked at it, flushed it a couple times and no water actually leaked and gave us a couple more towels in case it leaked again. It did leak again. We had requested another room but he would not give us another room. He said he was all booked and still had other reservations coming in.
- 5/5
Convenient to LUC at a decent price. Friendly staff.
- 2/5
Staff at the front desk was very friendly and pleasant. While the building itself needs some upkeep attention the room itself was generally pretty clean. Bedding was clean and smelled clean as well. My biggest issue came around 230am when I saw a roach on the wall near the door which disappeared before I could kill it. Did a thorough search of the room and found no others or obvious signs of other roaches. As it was the middle of the night and the other guest in my room was asleep - and leaving early in the morning, I did not bother the front desk attendant to switch rooms. I also felt it wouldn't have made a difference. My other criticism was the insanely tiny shower stall. The friendly front desk staff member is the only nice thing I have to say about my visit. I have no intention on ever returning.
- 5/5
Nice neighborhood, good people, enjoyable stay for what it is.
- 5/5
VERY NICE HOTEL ,MISSES THE HOT BREAKFAST
- 3/5
Terrible coffee but ok breakfast. Too expensive for thin towels and dreary room
- 2/5
Very old facility. Room cramped. Dirty in places. Old bathroom. Breakfast skimpy. Staff very nice and accommodating. Location good for north side but $30 taxi from loop and 35 minute "l" line ride.
- 5/5
Our experience was nothing but fantastic. Craig at the front was super friendly. Check in was a breeze. Great suggestions for dinner close by R Public house had fantastic burgers and was just 5 minute walk. Room was great. Super comfortable beds, plenty of room. Very nicely decorated with pictures of Chicago skyline above beds. No noise problems at all. Our room #209 over looked Sheridan Dr. and we didn't hear a thing. Complimentary breakfast was great to start the day before heading off to the ball game. Underground monitored parking is great and a bonus so we could just leave the car, catch the Red line or uber every where and not have to worry about Chicago traffic. What a busy place. Overall our stay at the Super 8 on north Sherifan was great. Would definitely stay again if ever in Chicago again.
- 3/5
Room good but bathroom was very dated
