    Staff was amazing and very helpful, gave us a lot of great recommendations for places to check out and also upgraded our room for free. The room was very nice, a little tight but that is expected in Chicago. Bathroom was perfect great shower, amazing view from room and bathroom window. Very conveniently located, quick walk from the train. Highly recommend and would stay again

    My room was only cleaned 1 of the 4 nights I stayed there, despite the fact that they claim to offer daily housekeeping. Additionally, house-keeping staff were loud in the hallway starting early in the morning, yet still didn’t clean all rooms.

    I was put off by the fact that they take a $100 security deposit and then refund part of that back as not one but two $16 gift cards for the on premises bistro. I would have rather just get the whole security deposit back at the end of the stay.

    Was a really nice hotel and everyone was great . My only complaint is that that sound proofing was nonexistent. Fortunately I am a sound sleeper but when I was awake, any time a neighbor opened their door, it sounded like someone was coming in my room. No one obviously was but it was a bit disconcerting. I could hear toilets flush as well

    Excellent rooms. The staff are incredibly rude and offensive at check-in. Also beware they will charge you a $16 fee and give you a coupon for $16 at the restaurant attached which is not very good and they always mess up your bill. Either way you will pay an extra $16

    Everything was great here! The front staff gave me a voucher for breakfast at the restaurant there. The food was great! Even the coffee they had in the lobby was good. Front staff was friendly and professional. The bed was comfy and room was clean. Great location !!The only downside is that I booked a king size bed and when I got there, they only had doubles. It was late in the evening and hotels.com said there was a king available but that was not the case. There was only about a 1-2hour window from the time of booking to check in.

    Upon arrival the hotel the staff was nice. The property was clean and in the lobby there’s a small seating area and also connected is a restaurant. You get a $16 credit towards the restaurant each day of your stay which was nice. The room was very spacious. I loved the bath robes that were left for me and my husband. The bathroom was my favorite part of the room. Very clean with a large Bluetooth speaker installed in the mirror. I had the view of the park from the large windows in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable. I enjoyed my time and will be back!!

    The staff was friendly and attentive. It’s not a big hotel but I appreciated the small details, like the free hot coffee and chocolate corner. It was a nice treat after arriving from the cold. The restaurant had great food. I ate out at another restaurant for breakfast my first day and didn’t enjoy it. When I finally tried the hotel restaurant I regretted not eating there sooner.

    I was thoroughly disappointed with our stay. The area overall was typical downtown Chicago and convenient for our plans. At check in we asked for a handicap accessible room as my wife recently injured her leg and was in a wheelchair/crutches/ The staff stated all of their room were "handicap accessible". When we go to the room, there was barely room to navigate the wheelchair into the door. The desk/dresser/closet combination was so large that we could not fit the chair into the rest of the room and had to leave the room switch to crutches and then walk sideways to get into the bedroom area. The front desk staff said the layout was identical in their rooms and I could move from a king bed to 2 doubles as that had a "more open" floor plan. The main bathroom light is on a motion sensor that triggers anytime someone walks in the room and the shower exhaust vent would not turn off. We asked for maintenance to look into the light switch/exhaust fan on 2 occasions but no one came up (the front desk staff confirmed no one was actually dispatched even though we reported the items). The elevators are extremely slow to arrive and appear to only have 1 of 2 in operation at any given time resulting in very cramped travel. We texted to have our car brought of valet when we were leaving and I was able to walk right up to the valet attendant and ask for the keys without being asked for any proof that it was my car.

    the staff is not very friendly and they try to always put you in an accessible room if you book with Expedia. the bar is the worst! the bartender literally had no idea how to make a martini and yet they charge $17 or more for one- the food at the hotel bar and restaurant is even worse- they give you a ten dollar credit but it's really not worth it

    Our room didn't look like this photo which seems a bit more updated. Lighting options weren't enough for the lack of natural light. Storage is very good in bathroom though counter space small. Apart from that, clean & simple. Staff was always very friendly and accomodating. The attached restaurant is a great bonus.

    The staff and room were excellent. However, the windows in the room were poor. The outside noise sounded like the windows were wide open. I understand it's a city but teens doing burnouts and racing up and down the streets on dirt bikes all night long is not what I paid for. No need for a radio because ever car going by the song was broadcasted right into the room

    The hotel was amazing the location was great in Chicago the restaurant inside the hotel was wonderful. I had a great stay and I will be back under different circumstances I was here for a funeral but I will definitely be back to stay at this hotel.

    Stayed for a 3-day conference. The hotel had trouble finding our reservations that were booked through Hotels.com. Not sure who’s which of us is to blame for that. The finally day of the conference ended at noon, so attendees had to check out before and store luggage. While that offered service was fantastic, the process for retrieving the luggage upon our return was a long and seemed disorganized. Not to mention, the hotel lobby was way too small to accommodate the hundreds of people that were in the same position. The staff was friendly and did their best under the circumstances. Much appreciation for them.

    Stayed one night for the BlackPink concert at Solider Field. Love this hotel. Not only the location to the concert venue but the stay was amazing. From the time I drove up to check in, the valet guy was helpful in getting me a cart and telling me not to worry about leaving my car parked up front as I check in. The front desk folks were friendly, efficient and welcoming. The room was clean and fresh. Fantastic shower. Great view of the lake (lucky me!) Check out was a breeze. Friendly front desk (Kiera) and I even had my car waiting up front. Chicago might be a big city but the LeMeridien made it feel small and family like! Thanks for the welcoming stay.

    Two people, one robe. No more available in the hotel. Asked to have additional towels sent up and we had to go down and get them from the front desk because they don’t have anyone available to bring them up to you. Not great when you’ve already undressed for the evening. Had pumps of body wash and shampoo, the conditioner pump was empty. Perhaps have housekeeping check it when prepping the room. Room service is available, BUT you have to go down to the restaurant to pick it up, or wait 40 minutes for someone to become available to deliver and have $12.50 added to the bill. Again, not great having to go down and pick it up when you’re already undressed for the evening. It seems as though they’re trying to be a top hotel, posting pretty pictures on their website, but there is much to be desired.

    The hotel was GORGEOUS! Elevators are quick! The bistro downstairs has the BEST burgers and they are HUGE! The room was amazing. The bed was super comfortable. The lake is within walking distance and Grant Park is directly across the street! Shoutouts to desk clerks Kiera and Quentin for their superb customer service and hats off to the valet staff and Jesus! I will definitely visit again!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

    The instructions provided for parking QR code for in and out privileges were incorrect and I found myself stuck behind the toll gate for long times, calling parking assistance. Finally, they told me that there are no in and out previeges for this booking. All they needed to do was provide correct information and I asked them twice. The bed was uncomfortable and the elevator close to our room squeaked. Even though we were on the 10th floor, on Fri late night it was so noisy that we had a hard time sleeping. On the positive, the restaurant is decent and the food was good. Though the server and restaurant manager also had no service etiquette. I have stayed here before and gave it a chance because of my Bonvoy status/convenient location. Now my wife had told me, she is not coming back to this location.

    I really liked the location of this property.It was so convenient for the Suenos festival that we attended and food choices were within walkable range. We also enjoyed the view of Grant park and a short walk to the Navy pier and Field Museum. The hotel staff was extremely friendly from the Valet to the check in desk and restaurant. Definitely would book this Hotel again.

    Extremely easy check in, attentive and friendly staff, the attached restaurant and staff where great, we where given a credit to use at the restaurant upon check in at the hotel. The rooms are a bit small, but will do if your single or a couple, we feel the like shower design could be better as it causes water to get on the floor, the downside is parking, but it’s the cost of being in a prime location, I would stay again

    When we get away to Chicago we always stay at Le Meridian. From the hotel it is an easy walk to museums, entertainment, great food, parks and shopping. All the staff is great especially the young girl that works the front desk.

    This hotel is just OK. The rooms are quite small. The staff is sometimes friendly but oftentimes not. The cafe attached food quality is pretty poor. You are given a $16 voucher when you check in to use at the cafe, which is fine, but its always disappointing. Will not stay here again.

    We found a roach in the shower 5 minutes into the trip. It was small with no signs of infestation. Valet was expensive but the service was nice. The view from the room was beautiful which is why we stayed. The building is super old they should do better remodel especially for the plumbing.

    We booked a superior room with a city view. We got a room with a view of another building and it was not a superior room it was so little the bathroom was bigger than the space we had in the room. When i spoke with the front desk she explained it was the room i booked however considering the view i highly doubt it. They said they were completely full and had no other room to change us to. The TV kept not working as well. Highly upset this was my second time here and i was very disappointed.

    Wanted to tack on a Valentine’s Day trip after a business meeting in the suburbs. We chose the Essex because of its location and eclectic style. We are happy we did! Although the rooms are small, they are smartly appointed and comfortable. The restaurant/bar was great too. Most importantly, every single employee was kind, friendly, and helpful. We will definitely return and encourage you to give the Essex a try.

    Fabulous well priced hotel centrally located next to Grant Park and the Museum Campus. Iconic building that has been nicely updated without ignoring the history. Staff was friendly and helpful.     The desk receptionist did not get our room away from the elevator after an early check in request. She did not text us as stated she would when a room would be ready. When we arrived back at 6 our room was in front of an elevator again. However, James took care of the problem and I was very grateful to him. We had avoided 2 previous choices at the early check in to avoid this, but no message was left for the new receptionist as per our request when we arrived and dropped off our luggage with Jesus so we could walk to the Shedd aquarium.
