The first impression was our check in, she made sure to let us know upgrade options, which, to our delight, were affordable and turned out great, loved our river front view and space! King suite. The hotel is smack dab where you want to be, walking distance to every thing! Love Chicago, river front walk, architecture, lake, food! Breakfast buffet was great, friendly faces each morning! Doctor conference, lots of them! We enjoyed our stay! Hope to return!

$92 a night for a valet parking along with $70 a night that is listed as mandatory fee both are nothing short of a ripoff

The hotel was very clean & the staff was so helpful and nice. We were able to check in early & our stay was very smooth. The steak house downstairs was delicious! Can’t wait to visit again.

The only downside was the construction ongoing nearby the west tower. An entrance to your hotel elevator at the west tower would be much better than walking from the east tower to the west tower.

The room was awesome. The view of the Michigan Lake from our window was incredible. Very helpful staff was ready to improve our stay at all times. The location is great. Walking distance to all our destinations.

Our stay at Hyatt Regency Chicago was overall good. The biggest downside was the room experience because the neighbors were extremely noisy, which made it hard to fully relax. Other than that, the hotel’s location was definitely a plus. It’s in close proximity to restaurants, shopping, and many of the main attractions, which made getting around Chicago very convenient. Overall, it was an okay stay with a great location, but the room experience could have been better.

The overall experience was disappointing. The food was very basic and nothing special, while the restaurants offered poor quality with very limited variety. Even basic amenities such as complimentary water or an espresso machine in the room were missing. The facilities and atmosphere felt outdated, the staff was not particularly helpful, and the hotel was extremely noisy and uncomfortable. Overall, it did not meet expectations in terms of service, comfort, or quality. I have been to many Hyatt Regency hotels all over the world, this is not a Hyatt Hotel.

I was surprised that they only provide paper cups in the room, like a motel. When complained, they told me they would send some glass cups, they never did. Very disappointed by their service. The room was very noisy and the hvac did not work well and kind of noisy. I don’t think i will return. They also charge lots of destination fees for nothing. The bed was very soft, no cabinets or drawers in the room.

The location was good. Walking distance to many restaurants and to attractions. The bathroom in our room was not clean at all, shower had hair from previous people who stayed, the sink in the bathroom and shower has plumbing issues where water takes a while to go down. The lighting is bad! Only small lamps around the room.

Everything was fine! Nice, clean, new, great view south from high floor room, staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Why four stars? I guess I just expect a lot for the very high rates charged, so of course a comfortable king bed and nice towels are only what one would expect. And a spacious room with a chaise is nice, but paper cups for coffee service and bare clothes racks instead of a closet are more Motel 6 than luxury, that's all. And not having any breakfast included is an inconvenience.

The small gym is packed with many people and there are not many options for equipment, very limited. Otherwise the hotel is amazing.

Great stay, close to all the sighs, hotel was very elegant and well maintained. Rooms were very clean and spaciousz super nice hot shower much needed when returning to the hotel from the cold winter streets. Staff was friendly, drinks and food at the bar were really good! The bed and pillows were absolutely awful and felt like boards. I left early after trying to take an afternoon nap and booked a room elsewhere as they were that horrible, and I could not imagine trying to sleep a full night there, The staff was largely unhelpful and didn’t offer any solutions. I expect more from a Hyatt and especially for over $400 per might.

Where it loses 2 whole stars is the way they nickel and dime you, with junk fees, and misleading promotions - in my case they claimed we had booked an ADA room (we did not), and offered an upgrade - which with taxes, and "destination fees" and taxes on the destination fees added $150. Add to this a "promotion" that gave us $25/day which turned out to not cover breakfast (despite the check in saying it would) and we ended us paying an extra $220 for a 3 night stay. This might have been redeemed had the check out desk not been painfully condescending when I queried why they had not applied the $25 reduction. In short - there are a LOT of hotels in this area, and the Hyatt seems to have decided they are going to compete on a low headline price that they recover with sneaky fees and games. If they had only charged a reasonable fee in the first place I wouldn't be feeling like I was fleeced by the management. We will not be staying here again.

We had a great experience at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the staff was consistently friendly and knowledgeable. The room was modern, clean, and well maintained, making for a very comfortable stay. The convenience of having a Starbucks downstairs for morning coffee was an added bonus. Overall, a fantastic location and great service—would definitely return!

Although location, lobby and stuff was good the newly updated rooms at the West tower were dirty and poorly taken care of. I found condiment packages behind the sink, mold in the sink, crumbs, and chocolate on the carpet floor and the blood on the bathroom wall, not to mention a very foul odor in the room. The Hyatt Regency has a vote, respected name across the country, but I was disappointed.

We stayed in a refurbished room. Room was a really big and was well maintained. Smalll issues with an old ironing board, and the pillows are like sleeping ok bricks but the bed was comfortable. Food from the restaurant was really good as well. Overall a really good experience.

The room in which I was placed was right next door to two suites on the 34th floor. Around 10pm on the two nights I stayed, very loud parties started in both suites and continued until about 1am. Too late too complain or make a room change so just had to not sleep and bear it.

The entrance to the hotel was beautiful, clean and welcoming. Check in was fast & easy. The room was very clean and a great size. We were impressed by the spacious room size. We loved the city view.

Rooms were clean and beds comfortable, but there was not an abundance of space and we could hear everyone talking as they walked by down the hallway. My 8yo got up to close our room door, thinking it was open because voices were that clear and loud. No microwave in the room. Cheap single serve coffee maker. And only provided 3 bath towels. They charge a $25 per night “fee” that you must pay at check in. Then you essentially get it back in a daily resort credit used in certain areas and only after 5pm. Don’t use it? You lose it. So silly. After reading multiple bad reviews regarding valet, we didn’t even bother trying it. Really wish they had a pool, especially for the price paid. It’s a huge, beautiful hotel but we really didn’t feel like we “got what we paid for” in terms of comfort or in-room amenities.

The stay was a good one. We did have an incident where next door guest was loud and unruly all night. We reported it and it was addressed with the manager Taylor assigning us another room and ensuring we were comfortable

Everything went well upon arriving until we got to he bar at 11:30pm online says they close at 1am but when we arrived a bartender was awfully rude to us I had to complaint to the manager for us to get at least one drink. Other than that everyone else was nice and friendly.

I booked this room as my anniversary and the hotel did not do anything, and we did not get the view that we wanted and paid for even after calling in and confirming with multiple people over the phone for both room decoration and the view.

The hotel was really pretty and super accommodating. Everything was walking distance to include attractions (ice skating/ museums) and sightseeing (Bean/ Starbucks Reserve). Rooms were also spacious and comfortable.

I appreciated the fact that daily housekeeping was provided. I also thought the rooms were nice and up to date. My only qualm is I wish there were microwaves in the rooms. That would have made things a little bit easier for me. Also, I think there should be a section for deliveries in the lobby of the West Tower. Many of my drivers were confused on where to go.

Everything was great, room was awesome.

Then there was the $55 parking and my friend Felicia and I were told that is was valid for over night. We questioned again around midnight and we were told we could pay the $55 in the morning. That turned into a big ordeal Sunday and she had to pay $87 to get her car out. As many rooms that were purchased I didn't understand why we didn't get a better discount seeing as how this is the 2nd year Spencer Leak Jr. had a party there. $400 was spent on one overnight stay and it should not have been a disappointing experience for my 1st time stay.

The rate of $267 was way too high for this hotel. There was no spa, no glasses in the bathroom, no luggage rack, refrigerator did not work, out dated bathroom with a tub. For this type of rate I am used to much more modern hotels downtown. But Hyatt Regency was NOT worth it. Just an average hotel with a downtown address.

The whole experience was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable. The view amazing and the location is close to everything we wanted to do.

Room 2912 11/22/25 the night motion light on bed base kept turning on and off all night. No one was moving around . I had to put a towel on the floor to cover the intermittent flashing. Was annoying . I forgot to mention it when I checked out.

What made it even more pathetic was the complete lack of basic hospitality. Not a single staff member offered help with our luggage. They simply said “everyone is gone,” leaving us standing there after a long trip with no assistance whatsoever. For a major downtown hotel that charges premium prices, this level of service is embarrassing. Hyatt Regency Chicago clearly doesn’t respect guests, doesn’t care about honoring confirmed reservations, and has shockingly poor management. I expected professionalism — instead, I got excuses, disorganization, and zero customer service. An absolute disappointment.

Very good overall nothing to complaint about since they have really made it a point to make sure they think about everything to make their guest enjoy their stay.

Nice location and a nice building, but poorly managed. The fan on our room was very loud, they either don’t inspect the rooms or don’t care. The valet parking outrageously expensive and a terrible service. It took 30 min just to put something in the car, and when we went to get the car they couldn’t even find the keys

I went to two restaurants and three bars. Service at all was horrible.

I was on the 25 floor 2 rooms away from the elevator. Could not get a good nights sleep because the elevator moving was too noisy. And every time the air conditioner would come on it sounded like someone was coming through the door. Plus the sheets are very noisy when you sleep.

Excellent place to stay for the Chicago Marathon!

Our room on the 32 floor had a great view but the elevators were so noisy I could not sleep.

The food at this Hyatt is wonderful. There was a breakfast buffet and a pasta dinner buffet on marathon weekend that were over the top fantastic for the price. Very clean rooms and good service at the front desk.

room felt quite dated (popcorn ceilings, old bathroom fixtures) and for the price we paid I thought would feel a bit more luxurious. it was clean, but just felt a bit dank.

It’s a nice hotel, however I expected more. There was mold in the shower, very disgusting.

The staff at the breakfast buffet were extremely courteous and warm.

It was good, the bathrooms are a bit dated. The rooms appear to be dorm like. But it was nice.

I've stayed at other Hyatt Hotels but this was a first in Chicago and definitely not the last!

We sent text to get vehicle from valet and it said it would be there in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later it was still not there so asked person out front and he got right on it and called. It took another 15 minutes to get it after that. We realize it was Sunday and busy but maybe give more realistic times of wait. Other than that our stay was great!

A fantastic hotel in a great city. Love the location and the amenities. Close to many places for food and shopping.

Very convenient to many attractions downtown. Did not rent a car, except one day, and we were able to rent it right inside the hotel. Hotel was very nice as well as rooms.

We loved the convenience of having plenty of on-site food options, which made it easy to grab a quick bite or sit down for a nice meal without leaving the property. The location couldn’t be better—just steps away from the Magnificent Mile and close to so many of Chicago’s top tourist attractions. Overall, the Hyatt Regency Chicago exceeded our expectations, and we’ll definitely stay here again on our next trip!

We love the location and the room with the view to the river. We also enjoy a delightful dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The service was excellent.

The room was perfect. Everything was perfect. I’ll be booking another room soon.

Great place with lots of conveniences. The valet service was a bit more complicated than needed. The instructions state to text when ready for car but I guess they actually want you to check in with the valet desk instead. We stood for 20 mins before we become aware of this. It would be good to better communicate that process.

The property itself is beautiful. I've stayed at a lot of hyatt hotels. The staff at this one were not polite or pleasant. I didn't encounter one nice staff member. The valet were the worse. This is one hotel that I would not stay at again.

Deluxe room was nice, but it was noisy. We were right across from the ice machine and employee closet and we heard talking and the door shutting all night.

Not really up to par to be a “4 star hotel”. Rooms are basic / slightly outdated and not as clean as it could be. Huge hotel that is often used for conferences, etc. so keep in mind before booking. Pros: walkable and convenient location

I liked that they have great staff and clean your room on a daily bases. I do not like that you get charged a day when you have to check out at 12pm, but you can't check in until 3. Go back to check-in time being at 11am or 12pm

This hotel was right by the riverwalk. 20min walk to Navi pier. You can get a taxi right out in front. U er picks you up at the door. Very convenient. Dining options were great. And our view of the river was awesome! I’d stay here, again!

Had to pay a deposit and was never mentioned on website. Also had to pay valet parking. Never knew about it until we got there. I had to pay more then what was quoted on the website booked through.

Absolute Joke for a $400+ a night supposed 4-Star hotel. Small motel 6 room, amenities, and bed. I do not recommend and would not stay at the Hyatt regency again.

You’re bringing me over to the Hyatt- side!

One of the most complete hotels in Chicago. You have enough space and options to stay around the hotel and enjoy the place with views and stuff. In comparison with a lot of luxury hotel that can stay in room or in a small lobby.
