Was a great stay

Last minute hotel change, they were able to accommodate and were very nice about it. Short stay, but I wish I’d elected to stay here my entire trip.

I get this hotel with 10 out of 10. It was very clean. I love how the key card only let you go to your actual floor. This hotel is definitely near everything. Me and my mother-in-law walked almost everywhere this trip, except for when we went to the Navy pier. We caught a Uber to the Navy pier which was cheap and then we got on the electric bikes to get back to our room. It was such a fun experience. The breakfast was also included. I’m not really a breakfast person, but I will get their breakfast eight out of 10. Overall, the hotel is perfect. We walk to Alice in the Wonderland to do our custom hats we were able to walk to the Starbucks refinery. And if you’re into soulful go to soul vibes, which is also in walking distance from the hotel, their food is really good. We even took the train from the airport in the walk from the train station to our room with wasn’t long at all. There’s also a CVS around the corner. I think I pretty much summed up everything.

The room was great. The staff were very nice and helpful with local recommendations and any items we needed help with. Would definitely stay again.

Staff is amazing from receptionist, to waitress and manager. But the cleaning was poor as far as bathroom wise, sleep sofa mattress was also pretty bad to the point that my hips remained hurts. It is in front of the fire stations so, watch for it, also the emergency light keep flashing in your face if you sleep in the couch, it should have better place to put the light. Location is good and again, amazing staff

The room was very clean. I did hear noise (sirens and honking horns), but that is expected in a busy city. The hotel did provide ear plugs for noise. The room was comfortable and the thermostat was easy to adjust when I got too cold or warm. I ate breakfast one morning and it was a nice spread. I love how the attached restaurant served breakfast and then turned into a restaurant in the afternoon/evening. Biggest plus for me was the hotel holding my luggage while I went to sight see before my flight.

Very nice stay! No microwave in our room unfortunately, but the breakfast was great along with the helpfulness of all the staff!

Rooms were clean and comfy. Check in was the only problem . I was delayed in arriving. My travel partner was hours ahead of me. Her name was not on the reservation. Hotels.com does not allow changes in the names on the reservation. It was extremely frustrating because I attempted multiple times and multiple ways to reach Hotels.com. Chat bots, emails , phone calls were all unsuccessful ways in reaching Hotels.com. I wasted hours with my futile attempts! While I highly recommend the Hyatt, Hotels.com created a huge and needless headache! It has convinced me to never book through Hotels.com again!

The staff were so helpful in giving us directions to various attractions. Our room had a beautiful view of the city and the breakfast that was complimentary had many choices. It was a little too far from the train stop had to walk 10 or more blocks with luggage.

Overall a great experience. During check in they didn’t have my reservation which I did a week in advance and I had to sleep at a different hotel for the night. Very frustrating but they were able to upgrade me to a better room for free.

Overall the stay was nice. The staff was amazing! Maria in the breakfast bar was very helpful (all staff was). Just wish the breakfast bar area was bigger/roomier as it gets crowded and tight pretty quick! But the food selection was great. My room was nice, and in a great area of downtown of walking distance. Only downside there is no pool, but other than that 10/10 stay

My overall experience was really good. I stayed for four days, and housekeeping made sure to take out my trash daily and keep my room clean with my bed made. The front desk staff was very friendly, and the breakfast had a great variety. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

From the moment you walk in the lobby you are greeted with friendly front desk staff and then move on to a clean spacious room.

Breakfast was really good. They had either waffles or pancakes, they switched everyday. They also switch the breakfast meat everyday which was nice. They had the option of hot iced coffee which I think was a nice touch. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel location is perfect in my opinion.

The property only looks good on the first floor. Our room was very old and out dated. The tv barely worked. We had to get maintenance to fix the bathroom door on the first day. The tub and shower didnt work, they would both turn on no matter what. Parking was a joke. 75$ a night for valet but it takes them 30+ minutes to bring you your car. I waited almost an hour on check out day and almost missed my flight.

The room was cleaned every day and the cleaning staff was respectful of belongings. They also offered water bottles for the duration of our stay for signing up for the rewards program (free) which was very nice. Breakfast was excellent and exceeded my expectations for a hotel breakfast. The staff kept tables clean and food stocked, were kind, helpful, and curtious. Get there early to avoid lines. There is one thing I will mention and it's for light sleepers: there is a firestation across the street that stays very busy night and day. There will be loud sirens, and yes, you can hear them clearly even on the 12th floor. The hotel graciously provides ear plugs (which worked great) and also a white noise machine. I am typically a light sleeper when it comes to this type of thing, but with the ear plugs and blackout curtains, I slept just fine.

I’ve stayed here several times, but this is my first time booking with a third party site. I suspect I was put in an awful room because of this. The street noise was near unbearable. Loud children were scream-playing in nearby rooms late into the night, like after 1am…the walls were like paper. They did provide ear plugs, but unfortunately, it did not help. At check-in, I asked the front desk person to put me in a room with a tub, which I was told they could accommodate for an upgrade fee. He said he’d check, then just ignored my request and put me in the originally assigned room. The breakfast here is truly exceptional, but unfortunately, this will be my last stay here. There are many alternative properties close by that are far more comfortable for the same price. The price I paid on hotels.com was no different than the direct booking- I just wanted to collect the points. But if I’m placed in an awful room, with $5 water, it’s definitely not worth it.

Amazing location. Clean rooms. Amazing breakfast but the most important incredible front desk service.

I checked in just before midnight and immediately noticed hair on the pillows and sheets, a spill with buildup behind the bed it, and just clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. Someone came up to change the sheets, but the room still didn’t feel clean. I checked out around 9 a.m. the next morning and didn’t stay the second night of my reservation. Management apologized and said it would be taken care of, but the timeframe they gave has passed and I haven’t heard anything back. My messages since February have gone unanswered and Expedia hasn’t been able to reach anyone either. Very frustrating.

Breakfast was incredible and breakfast space was stunning. VERY WELL DONE for a "breakfast included" hotel. Our room was larger than expected. SO MUCH FLOOR space. 2 bed and a sleeper couch. Highly recommend.

While the hotel was nice, it was a bit noisy outside. I think there were people protesting outside at 1-2 AM. All I heard was people screaming, sirens going off and people honking their horns. Hopefully this was just a 1 time thing

Upon my arrival D'angelo welcome me with a welcoming warm greeting, the best greeting I've ever had walking in a Hotel. Not only was his greeting top tier but he provided a gift of celebration for my daughter Navy graduation. He went above and beyond with great customer svc. Provided me with a nice clean room as well. The entire staff was very welcoming. There was a situation out of their control, there was only one elevator working and that was a inconvenience during a busy weekend. Coverall I really enjoyed my stay.

Location is great! However, breakfast lacks variety, we stayed for a week and the options were 95% the same everyday. Not to mention when it was 45ish minutes before ending breakfast time, if juice/coffee had run out they wouldn’t offer any other alternative, just water.

My family had an fabulous stay over Christmas. The front desk staff were always very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast staff were very attentive and breakfast was always lots of choice. House keeping was regular to ensure clean linen. 10/10 from us - family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 children 4 years and 1 years).

This was my second time staying here, and I’ll very likely be back. Check-in was smooth, and I really appreciated the valet parking. The location is ideal—close to many great restaurants and attractions. I enjoyed getting out to see some sights and rack up my steps, along with excellent coffee from nearby Caffè Umbria. The only small drawback was that the climate control was a bit finicky at times, occasionally feeling either too warm or too cool, and not the most intuitive to adjust—but it didn’t detract much from an otherwise very pleasant stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Hyatt North with our family. The hotel’s location is excellent within walking distance to many nearby restaurants and attractions, which made getting around very convenient. The property was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable throughout our stay. What truly stood out was the staff. Everyone from the front desk to the breakfast team and housekeeping was consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We would especially like to recognize Maria from the breakfast staff, who made us feel genuinely welcomed every morning with her kindness and positive attitude. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Staff was very nice and informative. The room was not in good condition. Found a toe nail upon arrival and a lot of hair in the shower. Overall the property was nice, just could’ve took a little more time on cleaning the room.

We stay at this hotel every trip to Chicago. The atmosphere is great, clean rooms, exceptional front desk staff. It’s in a great location as well.

I requested no room service. And im not one to complain, but our fridge was not cold the room was ok but could've been better for the price. The breakfast was good. We were mislead regarding the parking. Guess i need to read the fine print next time rather than listening to the hostess.

The housekeeping staff did a good job cleaning up the room when I was out. Also, the staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating. The water temperature in the bathroom was a little difficult to manage. It was either a little too cold or too hot in the shower. The water at the sink was only freezing for the first couple of days, but afterwards it got better and warmed up. The location of the hotel was very convenient for me. I was able to walk to almost everywhere I wanted to explore except for Chinatown.

As far as size, the room was great, but I would not say cleanliness was a top priority for your cleaning staff and management.

The dining area had tables available to sit, but they were all dirty. I couldn't find staff to clean a table for my family, so I took a disinfectant wipe from the host stand and wiped a table for us. I was asked at check-in if I wanted housekeeping service, I replied that I would like it for the next day only. We returned to Our room late afternoon the following day, and it was never cleaned. The hotel is located acrid the street from a fire station...there were ear plugs on the night stand, but the noise was terrible, from the sirens, horns honking, to people voices in the middle of the night..The window was very drafty (COLD) and definitely not soundproof.

The water in our room only got warm.. this weekend was really cold outside and a hot shower would have been wonderful. I informed the staff and just got an “I’m sorry” some sort of discount or something would have been nice!

Overall, I would probably stay here again. I found the hotel a little expensive for what it is. But it’s a convenient location with lots of great dining options close by, and I was able to walk around at night and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The casino is a few blocks away, there’s lots of restaurants, and touristy points of interest close by. Fortunately, we had some cleanliness issues with the room, that took several requests to be addressed. In the end, the hotel management addressed the problems to my satisfaction. I would say, however, that the pictures online or not very accurate. The carpet in the room had a lot of stains, the furniture and light fixtures were banged up, the L-shaped sofa had stains. For 1000 bucks Canadian on a three nights stay, I wasn’t wow-ed.

The staff here are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Location is great, close to transit and walking distance to a lot of shopping and great restaurants. Free breakfast is a nice bonus. Room is spacious and clean. Bed is too hard for me, and pillows are too soft but I know these are personal preference.

Stayed with my husband and 6 year old daughter. Great hotel with a good daily breakfast.

This hotel has everything you would want and nothing you wouldn't. It isn't fancy but it is functional and there were no problems. There is a fridge in the room, a microwave in the lobby and the hotel has a guest laundry.

My stay at Hyatt Place Chicago/River North could have been much better with just a bit of thoughtfulness. At every turn, I felt more like a transaction than a guest. I understand Hyatt is in the business of making money, but hospitality is just as important—and that part was missing during my visit. From the early check-in fee conversation to the murky water in my room and the lack of any real acknowledgment or apology, the experience felt impersonal and disappointing for a Hyatt property.

Only thing is fire department is near so if you're a light sleeper it can wake you(ear plugs provided). Wish parking was closer as well. Free Breakfast was good

Not willing to cancel room reservation due to severe Chicago snow storm forcing me to leave town early. They don’t care if you use Hyatt again. I used hotel.com for the reservation and hotel.com was willing to agree to full or partial reservation, but when they called the Hyatt they refused and probably sold my empty room for a premium to others during a snowstorm.

Customer service was excellent. Greeted and would definitely choose again!

We had stayed at the hotel on 11/23 night and there was no water from 8pm to 6am and there was water clog in the tub . It was very poor.

The external noice at the 832 it was that loud that made me difficult to rest some of the days I stayed at the hotel.

Paying $75 for overnight valet is outrageous. There was water left in the bathroom from previous person. The breakfast was cold and not enough variety. For a hotel to cost $230/night it needed better.

There’s a microwave in the lobby I used to heat up left overs. Things that were not so awesome but I could live with: there were two elevators but one was down. Fortunately I didn’t always have to wait too long. My room was on the 15th floor and there was a buzzing sound that was due to the AC there was a white noise machine included in the room so that helped drown out the noise. I’d stay at this hotel again.

The room was clean and well taken care of. The bed was comfortable. The view was outstanding. The hotel even provides ear plugs for those of us who need silence to sleep. Our stay was excellent.

Bad experience with supposedly manager by name of Chol at Hyatt. Window shade broke his accommodations consisted of a downgrading to a smaller room or checking out and finding another hotel. Horrible experience!

The room was very clean, the bed was decent, and the breakfast was incredible! Only downside was that I booked a King room and ended up with a two Queen room and they'd tried to pass it off as a "free upgrade". It was a busy night in the city so I was just happy to have a place to stay.

We were on the 2nd floor, right across from the fire department. Loved that you provided ear plugs, just weren’t very good quality, didn’t help much.

This was a perfect hotel for our first visit to Chicago. There were 5 of us in 2 rooms. The location is perfect; walkable to everything and near the train as well. The staff were extremely friendly. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were a nice size. The breakfast is substantial which we appreciated. The fire station is across the street, so it can be noisy, but 1) it's downtown Chicago and 2) they provide a white noise machine and ear plugs which was great. I would definitely stay at Hyatt Place again when I go back to this wonderful city.

Wonderful rooms .. great view and hospitality

Arrived at 2pm. Was told rooms were available and ready, but there would be a $25 charge for “early check-in”. No thanks and trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of your guests isn’t appreciated. Plenty of other hotel options. Won’t stay here again.

From the start, the in-room phone wasn’t working, making it difficult to contact the front desk. Every request for assistance required using my personal cell phone or going downstairs, which was inconvenient. Despite reporting the issue multiple times, it wasn’t resolved. On Saturday, I requested housekeeping in person because of the phone issue. Later that night, I discovered my $250 Loewe glasses were missing. An engineer checked behind the dresser and found an old orange, a remote, and a pillowcase, but no glasses. This made me concerned about how thoroughly the room had been cleaned prior to my arrival. Although the general manager apologized and refunded one night due to the cleanliness issue and ongoing phone problems, the investigation into my missing glasses felt delayed and incomplete. I only later learned that an insurance claim was submitted, which wasn’t initially communicated to me. The breakfast was excellent, and the lobby was immaculate, but the room issues and missing item overshadowed these positives. My advice: if you stay here, don’t leave valuables in the room during housekeeping service. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to decide I will not stay at this Hyatt or any other Hyatt in the future.

Tv didnt work ac made a loud noise every time it started and shut down some tore up stuff in room fee rips in carpet. Just not up to par for the price .

My mattress was giving me a back ache. The hot food at breakfast was never hot. Fire station across the street had sirens going off at all hours of the night. The staff was wonderful though. Housekeeping did a good job.

I loved my stay at the Hyatt Place Chicago River North. It was very clean and the staff was amazing. The hotel is conveniently located in Downtown close to great restaurants and shopping!

Early checkin, location close to everything, some buses were inconsistent nearby in arrival times, but we were able to get everywhere with ease. Lower/upper Illinois a little confusing at first. Friendly staff. Very nice rooms. Could use a. Little more space for bags and things. Would prefer no closet. Coach bed was a little dirty under sheets. Good breakfast offered both in food quality and service. overall loved our stay there.

The hotel room was clean and the staff members were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was within walking distance to all sights. The only negative was that breakfast was served only until 9am during the week and people were speaking loudly in the hallways late at night.

The location was great! 10/10 The only downside is that my hall had a noisy family that was yelling between their rooms with the doors open. It was weird, but there isn't much the hotel can do about this.

This was one of the best hotels we've stayed at in Chicago. Super friendly staff, very clean, quiet. We will stay here again.

Really great hotel located near several restaurants and blocks from the magnificent mile. The staff were super kind,m and the ambience was really nice. Rhe room was okay yet clean. The only downside about this hotel is that it is directly across the street from a very active fire station. Our room came with a noise counseling machine and earplugs. That is what I mean by very active fire station.

We liked almost everything about the hotel except that our check-in process wasn't great. We arrived 2 hours after check-in time and were told that our room wasn't ready. They said we needed to wait for 5 minutes in the lobby. It turned out to be more like 15 minutes. At no point. Did staff offer to compensate us for the inconvenience. Once that was over. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and bright. We were with a fairly easy walking distance of the miracle Mile and the Willis Tower to the West. We were just a couple of blocks from the river. The food was outstanding. The hotel has a restaurant called Emma and they make healthy and delicious Mediterranean food. One night for dinner we had an assortment of mezze. The breakfasts were excellent-- a large selection of food and everything fresh and well prepared.

Some pockets of the area are pretty safe and some are not. Staffs are super friendly. We don’t like the AC in the room. It’s facing the bed so feel a bit uncomfortable when sleeping. We ended up turning off AC when we slept.

Loved this property, it’s located right in the bustle of River North. It is across from a fire station so it can get a bit noisy, but that didn’t really bother us. Amazing Mediterranean restaurant on the ground floor, friendly and very helpful staff. We would definitely stay here again.

Close to the attraction

I don’t enjoy the free breakfast because it’s super packed and I don’t believe all those people are staying at the hotel. They need a key card entry outside of the building so it really only people staying at the hotel. The noise at night is super loud and didn’t enjoy hearing the motorcycle clubs driving by and then ten minutes later here they come again.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff was very responsive and helpful and the location was perfect.

We loved this hotel. Comfy beds, super clean, friendly staff, great view of the city including Sears Tower in the back. We heard very little noise outside the window despite being right in the city- a few sirens but nothing that kept us up at night. They include a sound machine, which is nice-we had brought our own. Bummed the bar downstairs didn't have beer on tap, but glad there was a bar. Lobby area was nice, sat there a few times having a drink or planning our day. The only downside was we didn't do the free breakfast. The line was ridiculously long and there was no seating in the dinning area anyway. That said, it was a holiday so it wasn't super surprising, people love their freebies. Just on the corner was Beatrix, which was great for breakfast. We all really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay River North.

Great value for our family of 5. Room was spacious enough for two teenaged boys and a 10 year old and my husband and me. Convenient to popular tourist spots and lots of great dining spots. Staff was friendly. Work out facility was good and breakfast was tasty.

Overall the hotel is OK. Staff are great, very nice, answered all my questions. The room itself is very outdated. The couch we had in our room was old and seemed broken. The closet squeaked a lot and had a weird smell. I personally would not stay here again because of the outdated room and there was barely any lighting.

The staff was very nice. The rooms were roomy. Breakfast was ok. We stayed 3 nights and after the second day we weren't interested in it. The fire station is near by so it was very noisy. I'm glad I brought my ear plugs. The room had a sound machine and ear plugs so if the hotel is suppling them then that should tell you something. The road noise was also very loud but it's in the city so I guess you need to expect that. Next time I will look for a hotel with a pool.

The hotel staff was very nice. The hotel breakfast was much better than most breakfasts that come free with the room. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The view from our 10th story room was great with a view of the Sears tower and many other impressive buildings. There is a fire station across the street that is very loud when you are outside and you can also hear it when you are inside. We were walking a lot and slept well. We had no problems sleeping through it even though some of us can be sensitive to that sort of thing. One change I would make is the bathroom door. It is glass. You cannot see through it but it doesn’t block light or sound. So if someone goes to the bathroom in the night it lights up the room. Again we were tired and it didn’t cause much of a problem. It was nice to have a sofa in the room but we found the sofa bed too uncomfortable to use. Overall would recommend to others.

The location is great, walking distance to many dinning options and to many attractions in Chicago, overall is a great choice, the only thing that can be improved is the complimentary breakfast, which is terrible, other than that everything was great!

The staff was absolutely amazing especially the staff members DeAngelo and Harold. They went above and beyond for our stay.

Street noise was high and actually woke us several times at night, mostly car and motor cycles. Would ask for a higher room next time. Other then that, easy to walk to some great restaurants and bars and have fun!

Valet was easy & I was comfortable leaving my car with staff. The lobby is welcoming and has a great boho chic modern vibe! Staff were welcoming & quick to get us checked in. Our room was clean & had a sound machine to drown out city noise. Slept like a baby! Never heard a sound & we were on the 2nd floor across from the fire department! Free hot breakfast was delicious with plenty of seating.
