Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago

This Hyatt was very convenient to many tourist spots and the Blue Line from O'Hare airport. Also the rooftop AIRE lounge was a fun place to chill and relax. Would highly recommend.

Location is convenient. My room was not cleaned on the third day of my stay, and the explanation from the front desk was that “our hotel room is cleaned every other day unless you specifically request it to be cleaned every day”, which is obviously not true since I’ve stayed at Hyatt Centric hotels in NY and Philly where rooms are cleaned every day without being requested.

Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful. I LOVED the bathroom! Enjoyed the big soaker tub and large walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean, and the location was fantastic for everything we needed to get to. The only complaint I have is that the bed only had a comforter on it, and even with the AC on it was a little too warm. Would have really like a flat sheet and maybe a light blanket on the bed to be able to adjust temperature more comfortably.

I ended up staying here after another hotel let me down and I’m so pleased I did! This hotel is very nice, clean and comfy. I really enjoyed my stay, and it’s in great location.

Typical good but not great loop experience. Close to public transit and many bars and restaurants. Not many amenities in comparison to other nearby hotels. But overall an adequate experience for that part of town. Staff were kind and very helpful. The restaurant stipend is an unexpected but welcome benefit.

Everything was great. The only negative is a musty smell between the check in counter and the elevators. Loved the proximity to the activities we were attending. Easy access to L trains.

Hotel and amenities are fantastic. Simple check in and access to local spots. Unfortunately the trip was spoiled due to the local riffraff. Definitely go to the area in a group or with locals that know where and when to go to various spots.

Stay was horrendous rooms was dirty and sheets had what seems to be blood stains by. When my room was changed because of the sheets. The next room had wholes in the wall and the baseboards were packed with dirt. I informed the manager and was told because. I used a third party ie…… hotels .com it was nothing they could do. Which I feel is so wrong to hotel.com because of that hotel.com gets a bad reputation. When it’s the hotel itself

A lovely hotel in the heart of downtown Chicago! The staff was helpful, the room was clean, and the fixtures and amenities were up-to-date!

I had an early flight back home, so I left early. My sister stayed to rest until check out. She was sleep in the room on 4/19, and at around 10:45-10:50AM she heard and saw the door open quickly and close. There was no knock and she had both keys in the room with her. She confirmed the night before and was told by front desk check out is at noon which is why she chose to rest longer. This was not only disturbing but scary while staying in the room alone. She immediately packed up her things, no longer feeling comfortable. I also went down to the front desk before departing and let them know the situation. They took her email and said “we will look into but because you booked through a 3rd party we can not offer partial credit”. She was rushing to her uber so she told them to email me and keep me updated. We will Not book with this hotel again.

I chose this hotel because it had a rooftop bar, but as it turns out it is Seasonal and was not open. Even though it was 80 degrees it still was not opened. The bar in the hotel closed at 9pm and we wanted something to be opened later. As it turns out, this area closed down early so nothing was opened late, not the fault of the hotel, but I thought I would mention that for anyone else who is looking for a late night cocktail. Otherwise the hotel was very nice and clean and a safe neighborhood. Would stay there again.

Room was nice but could’ve used updating. There were tons of marks on the walls and surfaces had some dust and grime. We had to switch rooms two times because the AC in our rooms wasn’t working. The staff at the front desk were fine when offering to switch our rooms but we felt they could’ve been more accommodating and apologetic as we again had to move two different times due to AC not working.

We upgraded to a suite because my husband needed to sleep in a chair due to recent surgery. They couldn’t bring a chair to the room I booked so the upgrade was necessary… but the coffee machine didn’t work & there was no microwave in the room. Plus there was a $50 resort type fee that was a money grab, since it was too cold to do anything outside to use the coupons. The only thing we used was the 2 free drinks upon arrival. The suite was very spacious. The bathroom was nice and clean and the view was nice. The $50 feet, is simply a money grab that all the hotels on the loop seem to have.

It was great how they provided wine glasses for us in our time of need along with the opener. Love the welcome complimentary drinks. Valet was great along with overall hospitality.

Our experience was there was a lot of yelling screaming from young adults outside my room door. They may be there for college break? Or some concert going that Saturday night.

We arrived before check in time and the room was ready for us. The room was everything we needed. House keeping made our beds and replaced our towels every day, which was nice to come back to after a busy day. The hotel stored our luggage for us after we checked out so that we didn’t have to carry it around until our train departure later in the day. The staff were very friendly. Drunk college kids banging on their friends’ room doors at 3 am. Not really the fault of the property but it was annoying to be woken up by the frat boys.

The front desk was accommodating and helped me with a few requests. The room was comfortable and clean. I didn’t like that their parking was valet. It would have cost $89 to park there. Luckily there is a self park parking garage a block before you get to the hotel that’s $30 less to park yourself.

The elevators were very fast. The valet was excellent, a little pricey but they were timely and took care of my car. Started as soon as we checked in. I told the front desk it was our first time in Chicago but she remained uninterested and gave me our keys. I had to ask about parking, she did not volunteer any information other than there was valet. The towels were worn and the bed is a platform bed that was hard. There was no ventilation for the bathroom. The ac in the room was loud switching on and off. For a Hyatt, I expected more luxury, but got more of an okay experience. Needless to say we were disappointed in our stay.

The amenities were pretty spartan. I was surprised that my room didn't have any complimentary toiletries.

Very centrally located in the theater district, close to restaurants and convenient from millennium park, river walk, Willis tower,.The coffee bar was amazing too for a quick breakfast, they have Starbucks coffee, nuts and fruits. It is conveniently located in the loop. A few major attractions and most sought after restaurants on TikTok are walking distance. There are plenty of parking options around the property.

The website description mentioned parking validation where that is not an option. The website also mentioned there was a pool and the hotel doesn't have a pool on-site. There was also mention of continental breakfast which was also wrong, this hotel does a la carte. Very disappointing finding this out at the hotel.

We chose this hotel thinking it would be a short drive/uber to the palace theater. Nope it was a 5 block walk that was wonderfully well lit. Many different places to eat close by.

The hotel was very nice, but our room was in a terrible state. There were bottle caps everywhere, and the sheets were not cleaned. I reported the issue to the front desk, and they cleaned the room up. It was a bit disappointing, especially since I arrived late.

To nitpick, one of the lights in the bathroom was not working, there was no sheet just a comforter that was a little bit too warm, and my first morning shower took a minute or so to warm up. Location was fine. The room had no storage space whatsoever. The drawers were glued shut so that you couldn't open them. The water in the shower did not reach a sufficient heat level for a decent hot shower. They we valet our car at $83. The card said text us when you're ready to pick up your car - so having a early morning flight from O'Hare, I text them first thing when I got up cause I figured it would take 15 or 20 minutes to get the car. After 15 minutes we called the front desk and they had not received any text and they said they would get the valet to take care of it. 40 minutes later we're in the lobby and they're trying to hunt down the valet guy. Our car keys were literally sitting on the hotel front desk. When the car finally arrived an hour after we requested it, we had lost all our cushion for a flight I couldn't fill the car up with gas and had a really stressful time at the airport. Totally unnecessary. Skip this place

The bathroom door is a sliding door that does not close all the way. There is an inch that is open on the sides. This makes it possible to hear your partner pooping and to see inside the bathroom from the bedroom. So bizarre. Such a poor design choice. Also, all of the water from the shower leaks through the bottom so the whole bathroom floor gets flooded. The paint is peeling from mold all over the bathroom ceiling. You can hear people talking at night in the rooms next door and above. There's no free breakfast. The coffee sucks.

Excellent hotel right in the middle of the Chicago loop. When we checked in, we informed the desk clerk Lola that we were celebrating an anniversary and she was able to upgrade our room, which worked out phenomenally! I couldn't be happier with the accommodations and the friendly service that we received.

Room is spare and clean, my favorite. Had to go to 3rd floor for teas, but there was a good selection and the machines worked great. Location was ideal a block off the blue line from O’Hare.

Was excited to stay in a suite. The room was nice and big but there was a lot of overlooked cleaning. For spending $435/night, I expected a better presentation of the room. Dirt on the walls and tables. Broken wood and cracked wood panels. Window trim coming off. Everything seemed to have some sort of damage.

We stayed just one night after attending a concert at the United Center, travelling in from the South Suburbs. It was a convenient walk from Millennium Station, then a CTA bus ride to the United Center. We felt safe returning to the hotel that night. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The double bed, city view room was a nice size for two people. The beds were comfortable, as it was quiet to get a good night's rest. I would definitely stay again.

Great location. Beautiful large rooms but absolutely no sound proofing for road and outside noise. Construction is also being carried out next to the hotel and starts at 8am. If you’re a light sleeper like me maybe avoid this hotel. I was on the 5th floor maybe higher up floors are better.

The ladies at check in were wonderful!! The room was very nice and clean and quiet!

Even with the thermostat on heat room was cold and Wi-Fi didn’t work when trying to sign in. Tried calling front desk and didn’t get any response.

Super friendly staff! There was an electrical problem in the room I checked into. The front desk resolved it quickly and switched me to another room. I appreciated it. Everything is at walking distance, super convenient!

It was amazing! I loved the decor of the rooms. The 3rd floor and Aire terrace were absolutely amazing! I have stayed at many hotels and this was by far one of the best. Top 3!

Was there for the Chicago Marathon. Staff was wonderful. Room was clean. Was able to check out early and do bag check for later pickup which was fabulous. Very nice stay.

We checked into our room and not long after being in there we started to smell extremely strong cigarette smoke. We were on the 7th floor, and it was coming through the vents. It made us so nauseous and my friend has asthma. I asked if they had smoking rooms and was told no, but it was so bad! Gave us a headache and all

I stayed at the Hyatt Centric for two nights. It was a good choice for an affordable price and while not in the heart of all the action, it’s certainly in a walkable location, very close to Sears Tower. The rooms were clean, and decent sized and the staff was friendly. They have a pretty cool rooftop bar as well to where you can take in the views of the surrounding area.

The only issues I had was due to poor communication on both parties & expedia doesn't include the deposit required before check-in for things like stolen or damaged objects.

Clean room, convenient restaurant downstairs. Walkable to some key sites (the Bean, Skydeck Chicago) and Union Station.

The property was clean and the staff were friendly. Centrally located but not too close to the hussle of the busy life.

Loved everything about my stay at the Hyatt Centric Loop! They were very kind and honored my request for a high floor! The staff was friendly, polite and professional. So glad the hotel is pet friendly—the room was totally clean with plenty of toilet paper and towels. The view was awesome. The king bed was the most confortable bed I’ve ever slept in—wish i had one just like it at home! I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to Chicago!!

Rooms could have been a bit cleaner

The biggest drawback was the lack of snack or drink options. There were no vending machines, only complimentary coffee and water on the 3rd floor, which weren’t great. We ended up refilling bottles since going to the nearby 7-Eleven each time wasn’t practical. The most concerning issue was when housekeeping accidentally entered our room while I was in the shower, despite the deadbolt and latch being locked. They left immediately after realizing my daughter was inside, but it startled her. A simple “Do Not Disturb” door hanger could have prevented this, one wasn’t provided. Overall I would stay here again.

Loved the 3rd floor coffee/chill room!! The hotel was in a wonderful location for us and the staff was friendly! We did not like that the walls appeared to be thin… we could hear women in another room close by too clearly… it was strange.

The htel's location was great! Clean and comfortable rooms.The hotel lacked a lounge, which made it inconvenient to meet up with guests. The elevators were slow. The amenities in the room were limited.

Front desk staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The location was very close to everything we wanted to do. The room was spacious and includes a refrigerator. Really enjoyed our stay for a girls trip!

Great hotel, very quiet rooms for a restful night sleep. A short walk to a few restaurants and bars. Highly recommend… I have been very impressed with Hyatt centric hotels.

First thing staff greeted you as soon as walk through the door. Very polite and professional. Told us about the amenities that was in the building as well as what floor they were located at and we slept very comfortably due to how quiet it was during the night.

Overall the hotel was nice. The cleanliness of the rooms was not up to standard. Surfaces were dirty, including the glass table, the area of the bed where the mattress doesn’t tough, the light switches were horrible. Staff were very nice and helpful. I had an issue where the toilet overflowed at night but staff were helpful with brining me a plunger.

We enjoyed a quiet 3 day stay. Easy walking distance to Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute.

If you're looking for a hotel in Downtown, this is the one for you. It's clean, elegant, and has a rooftop where you can have a drink. Plus, it's close to the city's most iconic spots. If you're looking for a restaurant for a date, there are two right next to the hotel. If you're looking for a McDonald's or Starbucks, there's one nearby, too. The only thing I didn't like about my room was that the bathroom didn't have a door. But the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, as were the pillows.

No complaints other than the ice machine was not working.

Nice convenient location. Rooftop bar was a nice option too. Everything was in nice condition, lobby restaurant was excellent.

Everything is fine. Cleanliness, conditions, and location are excellent. But I find the parking price very high compared to the price and amenities offered by the hotel. I'm not saying it's free, but the price could be a little lower.

Awesome hotel! Great view from our room. Front desk staff was super nice and let me take a teddy bear they had on their desk (I think they may give them to kids but she let me have one lol). The room we had was sexy! Huge tub that was roomy enough for both of us to enjoy and... The walk in shower was also very large and nice. We didn't get a chance to see the rooftop bar but the pics online looked really cool. Coffee on 3rd floor was good and strong! Thank you Hyatt for a great stay!

Great central location for a weekend trip. Easy to access the trains and walkable to many neighborhoods. Would recommend!

One of the best hotels I stayed in. The city view was nice, the room was very spacious and the bathroom was clean and it came with a shower and separate tub.

Phenomenal experience! The front desk lady that checked me in was very amiable, from check in to departure. She was so wonderful for upgrading me to a higher floor with a very nice view. I also loved dining at the Bandol Brasserie & Raw Bar, the staff was very friendly and the food was very delicious. Definitely recommend staying here.

Comfortable and clean. Noisy at night if your room faces Monroe Street.

Friendly staff, very busy hotel! We were greeted and accommodated the next day wanting to move to a higher floor. 3rd day they cleaned our room and provided all fresh linens! The bed's are not the most comfortable after a long hot day in the city. We woke with aches and pains. There was no top sheet so that was different for us, just a duvet cover, we stepped outside the box and dealt with it. Very good AC. The comforter and pillows were feather so be aware if you have allergies. The hotel felt safe and secure. Great location in walking distance to parks and entertainment, plus transportation.

Great stay at the Hyatt downtown Chicago. Clean room, super comfortable bed, and a really nice bathroom. Convenient location near parking, our testing center, and lots of food options. Friendly staff and overall very pleasant experience.

Perfect location for the many attractions in Chicago. The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. The rooftop bar has a beautiful panorama of Chicago’s waterfront and served delicious drinks. The Corner was an added bonus.
