Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location near shops, restaurants, and public transportation. However, some guests have complained about small rooms, outdated furniture, and noise from adjacent rooms or street traffic.

The rooms are a bit old. Comfortable for a short stay. The guest elevator was down so had to do stairs or the freight elevator.
- 2/5
I booked a double room and they put us in a single and said they didn’t have any doubles available. I had to share a full size bed with another grown adult. The ac didn’t work so it was a hot and uncomfortable experience. The girl we originally spoke to was apologetic and nice. Beyond that, we were not impressed by customer service. The room was old and gross. I was shown the room I should’ve gotten and it was twice the size and updated. I would not go back here. Not for the mixup, for the pathetic customer service. They were simply going to offer me a discount meanwhile the room we were put in cost way less than what I paid for the double room so the discount was meaningless. I got my money back after bugging the general manager (or district can’t remember) and she NEVER RESPONDED. But she obviously saw my emails. Totally classless customer service from her and her staff (besides the young lady). Do not recommend

Property was good for a low price. Staff was helpful and recommended good places to eat. Very good experience!

The problems started right away. I was directed to park my car in a parking garage around the corner that costs guests an additional $40 per night. There was no garage attendant, no elevator, a dimly lit staircase, and a malfunctioning payment machine at exit time. After walking back to the hotel to check in, they immediately charged my card over $1400 for two nights, and then proceeded to tell me that their elevators were out of service, and that they hadn’t worked “in a while” Options, walk up and down narrow staircases with your luggage, or ride the ancient freight elevator with a staff member. The room itself was so outdated and tiny, I had to laugh. The bathroom sink clogged with first use, the TV signal didn’t work, the only ice machine was back down in the lobby, and the ironing board was broken. In the morning, there’s no coffee in lobby, and upon returning back to the room after 4:00, I realized there’s no housekeeping service either! The hotel staff was the bright spot, and they really tried to be helpful, but all they could do was apologize and offer to take 25% off my stay. The Lincoln Park location is good but Hilton really needs to completely renovate Hotel Versey, or lower the prices. Save yourself the disappointment and book somewhere else.

Location My first morning I awoke to renovation work noise at 7:30am. My room 242 was right near the work. When I called the reception to ask why they were working before 8am I was informed that they would ask them to stop. I called the reception again about 15 minutes later because they were still working then I was informed that they could not ask them to stop working and that only the general manager could - ok then contact the general manager because they are disturbing your guests who are paying a high daily rate to stay at your hotel!! Then I noticed black hair on the bathroom wall and all over the carpet (the hair was sticking to my feet) and I asked in person at the reception for the room to be vacuumed again and for the bathroom wall to be cleaned. They didn’t clean it - 2 nights passed and I myself asked the cleaning lady to take care of the issues. The reception staff were very abrupt and cold. Only one free water bottle in the room, the espresso machine had issues and the plastic cups were too large for the machine. No breakfast, absolutely nothing extra. I wrote 3 emails to the general manager email I found online, no response. I would never stay there again especially for the price. Wicker Park Inn is my absolute favorite but they were fully booked.

The elevator was broken. The TV didnt work and the wifi was horrible. Gor the money you spend for the Hiton brand I was very disappointed.
- 3/5
Staff was so professional and polite, however the elevator was broken and we were on the fourth floor…. They did take us up to our room with our bags in the service elevator however it was stairs anytime we wanted to leave the property during our stay. Not tragic situation, but also not ideal. Also, the gym was closed for renovation so I guess using the stairs made up for that, lol. Definitely wasn’t a terrible stay but I probably wouldn’t choose it again.
- 3.5/5
It was clean and a good location! The elevator was broken. No ice machine on the floor and no refrigerator in the room.
- 5/5
Gotta get that elevator fixed. 3 months it has been broke. People spend too much money to take a service elevator up to their room. Other than that, great place and great staff!
- 2/5
Outdated, small rooms, elevator broken, no coffee in lobby. Only espresso make in the room.
- 5/5
Location/room decor Pricey but worth it
- 3/5
Had to wait five minutes for someone to check us in. Some sort of food/ dirt on steps. Elevator didn’t work. Didn’t get any housekeeping or bathroom cleaned for first night. Charged $75 a night for incidentals before we even stepped foot in the room. AC was not very efficient and the bed/pillows were not the greatest quality. For $400 a night this was extremely disappointing.
- 5/5
Always a great experience Get the elevator fixed!

Great location for Wrigley Field and Lincoln Park. Safe walkable neighborhood. Lots of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Staff was amazing and helpful. Elevator wasn't working and we could have used a fridge in the room, but those were the only things lacking.
- 4/5
The location is great. There's so much nearby within walking distance. It's an easy uber drive to Wrigley Stadium and close enought to Cloud gate and river tours. Unfortunately, the elevator was not working during our stay so it meant going up and down 4 flights of stairs. The staff was very friendly! They had just opened a new in house restaurant which is convenient, we just didnt get enough time to try it.

This place is under massive renovation. Their web site makes no mention of it. The elevator is out. Yep, you read that right. The freight elevator operates with the help of grubby engineering staff. The elevator shakes & bounces as it climbs the floors….the open cages scope the exposed brick & metal of the shaft. It halts only with a huge, hard bounce that makes your teeth rattle. Seriously…open your jaw when it’s about to stop. The guest rooms are like bad dorm rooms from an insane asylum. The walls are blank white FRP panels (google that). There’s no art on the walls. The bathrooms are old tubs & twisted low-hanging showerheads. If you are taller than 5’6” , you will have to stoop like a giraffe in your living room. If you park your car…be ready to be screwed when the “pre-paid” ticket won’t let you out of the garage. You will walk a quarter mile (each way) to rectify the situation. The staff are pleasant—- but incapable of relating to the guest. Happy talk doesn’t clean up terrible service. DO. NOT. STAY. HERE. you have been warned.
- 4/5
Very good
- 2/5
Although the staff was great, the elevator has been down for weeks and now prospects of when it would be fixed. Staff had to haul guests and their luggage in a dirty freight elevator that jerked you when it stopped. Be aware tbat you have to park down the street and walk back to the hotel. The entryway to the hotel was so full of air freshener it was hard to breathe. The rooms are very small, there is no fan in the bathroom and the windows didn't shut entirely. The lip of the bathroom entry caught your foot when walking through. I really wanted to like this place but our Anniversary stay was not enjoyable.

The room was clean. The elevator was down and did not work, So they had to take us up to the top floor in freight elevator. Parking was around the block. Had to call down to front desk to pick up suit cases because stair case was too small to accommodate.

Elevators were not operating.
- 3/5
Affordable hotel in a good area, but the walls are very thin. Could hear all cars outside.
- 1/5
Elevator was not working. Room was on the 4th floor. No prior notice of this. Parking was VERY inconvient. Walls paper thin. Room was super small. Will never stay here again.
- 2.5/5
There was ongoing construction, not advised prior to arrival. Very loud, started early in the morning. No use of elevator. If needed ice, had to request through the front desk. Refused to offer discount due to construction. Bathroom needs updating
- 4/5
Clean room, water pressure lacking. Elevator not working
- 3/5
We stay here because it within walking distance of Wrigley. You have to park your own car which there is a garage around the block so it’s not a huge deal but I miss them having valet parking. There is also not in and out privileges unless you want to pay again. The elevator was broken and our AC unit was really loud and did not cool the room very well. It is an older hotel and rooms are on the smaller side. There is no fridge which is inconvenient but we brought a small cooler. The water pressure of the shower was terrible and the water kept getting cold. If you are looking for a hotel within walking distance of Wrigley and just a place to sleep this hotel would be ok but i definitely would not stay for more than one night.

Good location in a nice neighorhood, friendly and attentive staff. I assume the renovations will improve the hotel The hotel was undergoing renovations, so I appreciate there will be disruption and this was kept to a minimum. But beside that, the walls are thin, my room was very small and the aircon unit is loud. Slightly disappointing overall

This was the smallest, most shoddy hotel room I've ever stayed in. And with fees it was almost $300 per night. Zero amenities except for shampoo and conditioner and an old coffee maker. A much needed renovation appears to be in progress but I'll stay elsewhere on my next trip to Chicago.

Location. Convenient to public transportation and my daughter's apartment. Website stated "pet friendly". When I checked in at front desk I was denied ability to check in with my daughter and her cat. Elevator was broken the entire stay. No fridge in room. Nespresso machine did not work. Shower fixture dripped and too low for my head. Room service after 3 days was not scheduled and I had to ask front desk for room to be serviced.

- 3/5
The bathrooms were clean but extremely tiny and water kept getting all over the bathroom floor. The room itself was clean and the location was fine. Staff was friendly.
- 3/5
Stay was just ok. I was able to check in early which was great, but they immediately told me the elevators were down and I had a bunch of luggage I had to lug up and down. Very inconvenient . I got to my room and it appeared to be mold on the ceiling, the bathroom was in rough , dusty condition, and the toilet would just move the whole time . The room just felt like it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned at all and I was a little uncomfortable.
- 3/5
In a good spot in the city, but there were a lot of issues- broken elevator, no exhaust fans in the bathrooms. Had to switch rooms bc the mildew smell in the first was awful. Comfy beds.
- 5/5
Cool vibe with nice, clean rooms and very friendly staff.
- 2/5
Parking was easy/ secure. AC was good. staff and room clean

April 2026 - a lot of construction and an out-of-order elevator. This place is great, just wait until after June 2026 to stay here.
- 5/5
Great staff, great location. Comfy room though kind of small. Clean. Elevator broken but staff was super helpful! I'd stay there again
- 1/5
Hotel was being renovated and was terrible. Stayed on 4th floor and elevator was also broken. Half of the floor was closed off with workers and large boxes in the hall. Dead bugs were on the ceiling. We want a refund for our stay.
- 2/5
Hotel under construction. Main elevators not working. Put us in a handicap room despite us protesting. Room had brick wall view outside. Had to beg for housekeeping service to make bed. They said their policy is they don’t offer unless a 3 or more night stay. AC not reliable - on and off - hotel blamed outside temps. No room fans available for guests. Conveniently located in Lincoln Park but other than that not worth the price of admission. Better properties available at more affordable rates. Recommend you look elsewhere.
- 3/5
Lots of construction, elevator never worked for three days. No amenities.
- 2/5
The location is great. But there’s an on going construction. Elevator was not functioning. I could not get any rest with the door leading to the stairs constantly slamming and construction starting at 8am.
- 5/5
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean room. Close to Starbucks, Clark St bus, Starbucks, Target and restaurants.
- 1/5
will never stay here again
- 3/5
The room felt safe. The staff where lovely. But with construction starting an hour before we where told and the mess it brought. I don’t think it was worth the price listed. The rooms where very run down. Again staff where amazing they made my stay so much better. I can’t give them enough kudos
- 2/5
Might a good hotel after renovation but too expensive.
- 3/5
BEWARE-the elevator was broken when we were there. Only option was to take the stairs...up to the 4th floor where our room was...and all the way back downstairs.

I was unaware of the hotel's renovation upon checking in. The elevator was out of service, the stairs were very narrow, and the room was tiny. The staff did not even ask how our stay was when we checked out, and we couldn't wait to leave. Fine for the price, but will never stay here again.
- 3/5
Under construction we were not informed of ahead of time. NO WORKING ELEVATOR and bathtub backed up with asphalt like debris in it. Otherwise good location
- 5/5
Every thing was wonderful.
- 3/5
Staff was lovely but the room amenities were tired. Also there is a bunch of construction going on which is very loud during the day.
- 5/5
It was a great stay
- 5/5
I was only able to stay one night in Hotel Versey and wish I could have stayed longer. The lobby's decoration is artistic and gorgeous. The clean smell hits you as soon as you walk through the doors. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and the beds are some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. I live in Lincoln Park, so I won't need to stay there often, but I will certainly have friends and family who visit stay at Hotel Versey!
- 3/5
This hotel has potential and I might consider staying again after construction is complete, if some sort of sound deadening is part of the remodel. As of now, there is construction noise during the day, there is only one slow elevator and one steep staircase, the hallways are dirty, and the only ice machine is in the construction zone. The staff didn't help much as they could barely be bothered to greet you as you came to the elevator right next to the check in desk.
- 3/5
They were renovating the restaurant, so no food in the hotel. When I made the reservation, it said parking could be added. It was not mentioned it was a block away and no direct entry to the hotel.
- 4/5
Friendly staff clean room heating system worked well
- 3/5
This is a fine hotel if you are on a budget. My main issue is that the walls are very, very thin. You hear everything from surrounding rooms—doors closing, toilets flushing, people talking/laughing. On a Sat night that goes well until 2 or 3 AM. I got no sleep here for two nights.
- 5/5
Great staff and room! Will definitely be staying here again!
- 5/5
Clean room. Very small room and bathroom so if you want space this isn’t for you. Housekeeping is only every 3 days unless you ask. Parking is around the block which isn’t very convenient. You’re only allowed to leave the garage once a day to pay the daily rate $31 or you’ll be charged hourly which would get very expensive so that makes it tough to plan your day around one trip out of the garage per day. Staff was great. Overall a great place to stay!!!
- 4/5
Bathroom sink was very low and the shelf had a significant tilt- but was usable. Great location for us- with plenty of shopping and dining options. Short walk to the brown line

Room was clean and was in such a great location to nearby sights. Absolutely loved it.
- 1/5
The whole night the staff was i think cleaning the rooms around me? Which of course I know is there Job I just didn’t know they did it all through the entire night. The doors were opening and closing every 2 seconds, rumbling noises and things falling and getting shut from every direction. It’s loud. You can hear everything and maybe the walls are just thin? But it’s pretty unbearable and I think I got 1 hour of sleep. The bathrooms are kinda not the nicest. Which I can handle but the constant loud noises right next to my ear, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I had a non refundable room. I called early the morning asking for a refund or to move the date. I understand that this wasn’t part of the policy, but considering I am very sick with the current flu that is surging across the U.S. I thought I should have received much better customer service and at the very least allowed to reschedule my date. I have been an 8+ repeat customer of Versery Hotel and a long time customer of Expedia. Very disappointing.

Very clean and spacious room! I was so satisfied with my one night stay and with how close the parking garage was located. Highly recommend for a central Lakeview/Lincolnpark stay.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, proximity to city activities, safety
- 4/5
Property shows signs of wear. Exceptional location, very comfortable bed, good shower, and a general feeling of comfort made up for the shortcomings: Perfumed smell in the entrance, brick wall outside window, worn out fixtures. We stayed for a week- and felt it a very good value.
- 2/5
I've stayed here twice as it's the only hotel by family. The rooms are about the size of a closet, the "queen" bed is actually a double, the coffee makers don't work, toilets are weak, and the stench of marijuana is so strong you don't need an elevator to get to your room. Hotel is clean & staff is wonderful though.

- 5/5
Nice hotel and rooms
- 4/5
Room clean. Staff nice. I hope your renovations don't lose the character of the rooms.
- 4/5
The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very accommodating and kind. The area the hotel was in was very quaint and charming. It felt very safe for morning or evening's, however; there was only street parking or public parking for $31 per day. Overall, I would return.
- 5/5
Clean and spotless as always. This is my 40th stay here.
- 4/5
There was a lot of street noise, but that goes with being in a city. It was really frigid outside, but our heater kept the room cozy

Nice urban design and super clean!

Room was fine - small but OK. Bed was comfortable and there was very little noise. However, the comforter and pillowcases were not clean - full of hair.
- 3/5
Room was too small. Bathroom shower I could barely fit in. I’m 6’1 215 pounds so I’m not huge.
- 3/5
AC was loud and woke me up every time the fan went on. Remote did not work well for tv. No coffee in the lobby in the morning
- 4/5
The pillows were some of the worst ones I have ever used. The staff was always warm, friendly and welcoming. The whole place stands out, very hipster. If you stay here bring your business advertisement stickers!! The neighborhood where its located is perfect! I love how close morning coffee is. Multiple options! Parking is so close! It would have been a perfect stay if the pillows weren't 700 years old.

- 5/5
Nice staff
- 3/5
The hotel is comfortable and in a nice area. This is my second time staying here because I like the neighborhood. The first night I called the front desk and told them the toilet would not stop running and the sent a rude security person to help. This security person told me there was no maintenance and handed me a plunger and walked away. I spend the rest of my stay having to take the top off the toilet and stop the toilet from running every time I flushed. Also the over use of febreze through out the hotel was over the top.

Hi, Usually have no complaints, but I checked out early yesterday - told the person at the desk that we were checking out bc, the water from the shower.. the roll-in shower ran on the bathroom floor, which i didn't think was much of a big deal, my two sons are in wheelchairs so we use a roll in shower chair. but then after their showers I showered and went out into the bedroom area in bare feet and realized the carpet was completely sopping wet, like half the room, it had run out of the bathroom onto it and i had no idea, the room was damp smelling and the carpet was wet, I thought it would dry out and get better, but when we came back from lunch it was even worse smelling. I told him we were leaving and why it was 4pm - I understand that I made the reservation, but the room was not useable it was wet and smelled really bad - damp etc... then when I left he said he couldn't check me out until today - well I'm at home left yesterday at 4pm - I understand there are rules, but I am not very happy. I like staying there, but felt like this was not handled well, the wet floor etc, I feel like should be an extenuating circumstance .... or some offer to move rooms, or refund at least part of it. the room was not usable. Additionally, if there is a problem with the water running out like that - if I was alerted in advance - it would have never happened I could have blocked it with towels etc.. but I had no idea it wasn't just running back into the shower drain. I hope at the very

Everything was very clean, the staff was very friendly and happy to help. The water pressure was very low and the coffee maker wasn’t working properly. A great place for the low cost if staying for a couple nights. Plenty of restaurants and bars near by and safe area to walk around.

Staff was great; friendly. Location excellent. Shower water pressure low. Elevator sounds heard through walls (ding ding ding sounds) be sure to get room away from elevator and you should be fine

Thanks to Adrain the front desk and all the staffs very friendly and accommodating. Nice hotel definitely would be back again
- 3/5
Outlets did not work, shower and toilet were broken. Long wait time for hotels single elevator. HK every three days and no coffee in room or lobby. Hard to believe this was a Hilton
- 4/5
Spunky hotel right in the heart of LP and Lake View - updated with a great vibe. Bathrooms still a bit old and might need a bit of updating but part of staying at a but of history. Staff was very welcoming and helpful.

Very good place to stay to see a hockey game
- 5/5
Will definitely be back.
- 3/5
Cool punk rock hotel theme, great location with easy public transportation, with Friendly staff- but was disappointed with the small room for the price. Because of the small room, and the fact they only do room service once every three days, I would say it’s a less tier Hilton hotel.

So convenient

Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and I’d recommend Hotel Versey. I would stay here again.

Pictures online did not look the same as they did in person. There was garbage in the hallways. The wallpaper was wrapped and the room did not feel clean. We had originally booked our stay for three nights and had to cancel our reservation and find somewhere else to stay. Very disappointed.
- 4/5
It was clean. City hotel property. Good shopping nearby.
- 3/5
This hotel was under construction although we did not see any real construction being done. The rooms were outdated all around. The bathroom was small, the sink was low and there was a glass ledge above it, so it was difficult to wash your face without hitting the head on that glass ledge. The shower was a bathtub with curtains and the water temp was just OK. The positive was the street, plenty of walkable restaurants and coffee spots. Safe. Would only stay here again after a full renovation.
- 4/5
Overall, a good stay. Nice hotel. Great location. Love the vibe: artsy, hip, upscale. A few details were missed, like poorly labeled in-room coffee options. But overall a pleasant spot.
- 4/5
All in all a good place to get a room. Did get woke up at 4 in the morning by a delivery truck, but I don't think the hotel was necessarily responsible
- 5/5
AC unit is too loud. A mini fridge in the room would’ve made the stay a 5 stars for me. Not having a mini fridge was disappointing.

Parking was a bit confusing to locate, but other than that the hotel was great. The bathroom is a little small, but typical in a city. Great service & great restaurants within walking distance.

Parking was easy, secure and close by. Friendly staff; clean rooms; very comfy beds and pillows, loved the down comforter! Hotel is pet friendly. Will definitely stay again when back in town.

Too much pumped in air freshener in the lobby.

Nice location. Friendly staff. Inside room with a dreary view. Very high deposit. It was quiet and surrounded by good restaurants. Plus, an excellent place to watch the Marathon.
- 4/5
The staff at Versey were wonderful. Always welcoming and offering assistance. The location was perfect for our needs. Walkable to everything we wanted to do. The bathrooms are a little dated but very clean. We also had some paint chipping from our ceiling. Despite these issues we would stay here again. We enjoyed our stay!

Excellent location!
- 5/5
The property was located close to Wrigley Field. The room was clean and the mattress was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The facility also had good security.
- 3/5
Shower very small, like being on a cruise ship, shower door hits toilet if opened too far, maid missed our room on Friday had to go down Friday night for towels, wallpaper coming off wall, toilet ran for a while before shutting off.

It was a good location for us. It was very clean. The bathroom was very old, SMALL and outdated!!
- 5/5
Funky place in a good way, great location. Standard room but you can tell it is an older building.
- 4/5
Parking was not on site but a safe parking garage was very close. Staff very friendly and helpful with local area questions
- 1/5
I would not recommend this hotel. The bathroom was outdated, dusty, and honestly felt dirty and crusty. The room itself had a nasty smell the moment I walked in and to make matters worse, there was no fridge, which is a basic amenity I expect. The front desk staff was fine, but the manager was unbelievably rude and unprofessional, not at all what you want to deal with when you’re already unhappy with your room. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for a more comfortable and welcoming stay. Which is a shame because it's in a nice location with lots to do in the area.
- 3/5
The bathroom in my room was extremely old. The fixtures were really old and the tv didn’t drain.
- 1/5
Would not stay again. Staff was rude. Shame on Hilton for not keeping their properties in better condition.
- 4/5
Great stay for a Cubs game weekend!!
- 3/5
We were a bit disappointed in the price of this hotel considering their accommodations. For example, the toilet was broken and the AC never cooled correctly. There was no refrigerator, and we were denied a request for another ice bucket. No restaurant or bar on site. We have stayed in other hotels that were more than 50% cheaper with better accommodations. We will return to Chicago but will never stay at this hotel again.
- 3/5
There is no vent in the bathroom. Great location. Strange remodel makes the shower interesting but it worked. Cute decor
- 4/5
Location location location! We walked to Lincoln Park Zoo and Wrigley Field. So very many wonderful dining options nearby too! There aren’t many hotel choices in this area, but if I were to get a similar deal (about $200) I’d book this property again.
- 5/5
The front desk staff was very accommodating.
- 2/5
The hotel was nasty but the staff was incredible . It was cracks in the wall , and we found a roach crawling in our room. The hotel is due for an upgrade It was convenient because we were going to the Chris Brown concert for 2 days, they charged me almost 800 dollars . Also they were drug addicts hanging around the area . I would save your money .
- 5/5
Everything was good I just didn't expect a extra $75 charge. The website said possible $45. Never had to pay extra at any other hotels I've stay at in Chicago.
- 5/5
We was there for Pride parade and it came right by. Very convenient.
- 5/5
Great spot. Right in the middle of everything. Great place
- 5/5
Great Area of Chicago to stay!
- 4/5
The lobby was wonderful, friendly staff, and clean rooms with comfy beds. The bathrooms need an update badly!! It’s the only thing I was disappointed in!!! Seriously, update!! At least the room we were in, because otherwise the room was large and comfy!
- 4/5
I loved everything about the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. Neil at the front desk was so nice.
- 5/5
Walking distance to Wrigley Field (~1-2mi), with convenience stores, coffee shops and restaurants within a 5-10 min walk. The room was very nice and quiet.
- 4/5
All was fine, but I wish the "snack area" had a few more choices. I'm glad you're getting a restaurant.
- 4/5
Very cool place with plenty of history behind it. Is within walking distance to just about anything you want.
- 3/5
The property needs serious update. The rooms, cone nice, have become seriously rundown. For the price you can do much better.
- 4/5
The building seems old but with modern touches. Fine for my work trip. Only issue was it did seem a little haunted? My hotel phone kept ringing late at night while I was trying to sleep and no one was ever on the other end when I answered. Simultaneously my garments would swing around on the rack. The ghosts left me alone after I told them I had an early flight to catch, so still a four star experience in my opinion.
- 4/5
I really like the art style to this hotel. I definitely think they need to update the wallpaper
- 3/5
The shower/bathroom was ridiculously outdated & was next to impossible to adjust the temperature of the barely-pouring-out water. The air conditioner was absolutely horrible. There were two temperatures that it functioned at: Meat locker & not working. It turned on at its own accord & no turning of the knobs would work to get it cooling. Better a/c units at the Super 8. The lone elevator took forever to get to where you needed it. Overall the entire place could use some updating in regards to the inner workings. Plenty of stuff to do in the general area & if you feel like walking, you can walk to a Cubs game or simply grab the train around the corner.
- 5/5
Loved the area, great stay!
- 5/5
Ill be back to this hotel.
- 5/5
Many restaurants and groceries at Trader Joes a few steps away. Slept like a baby. Cold AC and quiet clean room with fresh linens. CTA stops within easy walk. Walk to lake Michigan in 10 minutes. Great stay without the hustle bustle and cost of flashier properties.
- 5/5
Great location & super nice staff.
- 5/5
Easy to find, great staff, comfortable beds and pillows, clean, secure. If I go back to Chicago, I'll definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
This hotel is conveniently located to East Lakeview, Lakeview, and Wrigleyville. All are within walking distance, but there are also bus stops nearby. Parking is available in a garage around the corner. Stan's Donuts next door and Starbucks across the street along with Chip City. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance along nearby Broadway street. There is a TJ Maxx, and other shopping nearby. The hotel beds are comfortable, and the hotel is quiet. Safe card access to elevator, stairs, and front door (after hours)
- 5/5
I loved it hear! Definitely will come back if possible!
- 4/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Stayed at this hotel for a concert at Wrigley Field. Everyone was very friendly, check-in was easy and smooth, front desk was very helpful and kind, the walk to and from the concert was smooth and a Stan’s Donuts right downstairs was a huge plus! Parking was reserved through SpotHero $30 a night right around the corner so parking was smooth too. Definitely recommend!
- 5/5
Really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Adriane helped us navigate everything and was extremely personable.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful!!! Great location with tons of dining and shopping closeby. Would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in town.
- 5/5
Fun place to stay before heading up to Wrigley for a game!
- 5/5
Great area, it was really clean and easy access to different places, restaurants, stores, parks
- 4/5
The room was ok - decent bed, ok pillows. The bathroom was very small and old and only one hook to hang a bath towel!
- 5/5
This was a great property that was clean and comfy and the staff was great! It is close to Wrigley and for the price you can’t beat it! The area was safe and lots of neat shops. I would stay again if I was visiting Chicago for ball games!
- 3/5
My #1 complaint is : why not have the 2 bottles of water left in the room be complimentary, like every other hotel that has water bottles in the room???! $3 for a bottle of water that cost you what maybe 5cents? That is just wrong. Please ask management to change this policy.
- 5/5
Quirky decor, loved it! Loved the how walkable it is and how close to dining I was.
- 5/5
It has a fun elevator
- 5/5
Love this place, staff is lovely, location is perfect with a TJs across the street and close safe parking. The LA fitness is close and nice with a pool. Best of all are the front deck staff, helpful , friendly and fun especially Neil.
- 4/5
Overall, the room was good and clean. However, the workmanship of the room was lacking. The hotel lobby beautiful and cool. The staff? Well the staff was phenomenal!!!! We would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Great experience
- 5/5
Perfext location nice staff comfortable bed
- 5/5
Conveniently located a 5 minutes walk from the Diversey station, Brown Line. 15 minutes journey to the Loop. The Diversey Hotel is in the inner north of the city, close to Boystown, the gay area of Chicago. Many shops and restaurants are closeby. The double room we had was on the front of the building facing the busy Diversey Parkway street, which may be noisy for some people, but coming from a big city like London, UK we were used to big city noise and requested a room with a street view. The room had a safe, coffee machine, a microwave oven and refridgerator. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will certainly stay at the Diversey Hotel on my next visit to Chicago.
- 5/5
The bathroom was not up to expectations. Shower drip would not stop. Room air conditioner was not modern
- 5/5
Quiet & comfortable!
- 1/5
But the worst was the front desk staff. I was in for a cancer visit and ball game and needed to extend my stay one night. Adrian, the front desk clerk, explained that we'd have to change rooms if we took the king room we reserved. But, if we took a lesser room, we wouldn't need to change rooms. And, he five is the same rate for the trouble. All we'd need to do is come down, show ID, and get a new key card after breakfast. When I stopped to do that the next day, the assistant GM told me that my stay had not been extended. Inconvenient, but not a problem. Then she tells me it will be nearly twice what I paid to extend. When I explained what we'd been told by Adrian, she said, 'I don't know what to tell you. We don't match rates. ' The Chicago Collection Hotel took us at less then what we paid for Hotel Versey on the first night. It's closer to Wrigley, cleaner, nicer, and newer.
- 5/5
Me and my friend stayed here while we were in town for a concert. The check in was quick and easy. The property is located in a great area with plenty of restaurants, shops, and a grocery store nearby. The room was pretty clean with only a small stain on one of the bedsheets. Overall it was a great stay!
- 5/5
Very welcoming. The decor is amazing. The room was clean. Conveniently located to areas of interest. The staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
- 3/5
The staff was excellent, but not sure if I would stay here again, it wasn’t worth the price they charged us!
- 4/5
The staff at check in was very friendly. The room was decent, on the small side, but doable. Bathroom was clean but could use some renovations. ie, paint coating in the tub was peeling. Overall fine. I was pretty much there to sleep. Bed was super comfortable
- 5/5
Close to the water, boystown and Wrigley stadium
- 5/5
The decorative motif in each room relating to Chicago.
- 5/5
Assessable and convenient location
- 5/5
Great location to restaurants, Wrigley field
- 5/5
This property was very close, convenient to so many different shops and restaurants and bars. It was very enjoyable and so centrally located.
- 3/5
The room was VERY small and the bathroom was less than functional. The parking was the worst I've ever delt with. Would NOT recommend this Hotel
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly and acommodating. The hotel was in a great location.
- 3/5
The double room we had requested in booking was not available so they gave us two single rooms. Room very small and hard to move around. Bathroom very small as well. Was clean and not abused. A definite in and out type of room.
- 4/5
The location is perfect, close to a lot of stores and everything is walking distance. The only thing to consider if you are a light sleeper it's close to the street so it is very noisy. The staff were nice and the place was decently clean!
- 4/5
Great hotel in the middle of updates. Good location for visiting my DePaul student.
- 5/5
The only disappointment was when housekeeping was scheduled to clean our room, only our bed was made-bedding was not changed, trash removed & toilet cleaned. Our room was not vacuumed & tables were not wiped off. No coffee pods/cups, toiletries & an extra toilet paper roll (as usual) were left, so my husband had to go to the front desk to request items. This has not happened in previous stays. Thank you. We are looking forward to visiting when the new bar space is opened.
- 3/5
This is a tired hotel that has been glammed up with some interior decoration. The room was large, although the bathroom was small. It is in a great location and was reasonably priced.
- 3/5
It was an expensive stay for what it was. The wallpaper was coming off the wall, the room smelled of smoke and it’s a no smoking hotel. The air conditioner would kick on and freeze the room and then kick off and the room would be hotter than heck. I didn’t sleep the first night due to being uncomfortable. The lobby was cool but that was about it.
- 4/5
Parking did not include in/out privileges.
- 4/5
I liked the neighborhood. There are lots of dining options and everything is in a very walkable distance. The staff at the hotel was very nice and friendly. Isaiah was extremely helpful and assisted me with my internet connection issue. The cleaning crew was very nice also and quick to respond to my requests for service. I did not like the quality of the amenities in the room considering I paid $350/ night. The pillows and linens were low quality. You need a choice of light blankets for summer instead of one heavy comforter and a sheet. The heater and air conditioner fan are extraordinarily loud. And there should be closets and a dresser—not steel shelving for storing clothing. Some pictures on the walls would be nicer than the cheesy wallpaper… which is fine for the hallways and lobby. But the rooms should be decorated to be restful and calming.
- 4/5
Overall, it was good. The room was spacious and clean. We were able to check in early by paying an extra $25 which was nice. I wish they still had valet parking that’s really only complaint. The parking garage is close but it would be worth the extra charge for valet parking. They also do not have in and out with parking so once you park you have to stay there so we just went places within walking distance. There is a lot within walking distance. If you stay here go to Stan’s donuts, yum!!
- 5/5
Loved the vibe of this hotel! So cute and fun! The staff was so nice! Great location!
- 4/5
We have stayed her multiple times. Always very happy with our stay. This time our room had a smaller than normal door and hallway and the bathroom was super tiny. Bed was still terrific. Just don't stay in Room 446.
- 4/5
2nd time staying. Came for a Cubs game and to spend time w/my Son. Rates are usually great but don’t be upset if it’s the night of a game! Hotel is quirky, no restaurant on site (yet) and rooms are small, bathrooms smaller. Only real complaints are no hand lotion (bottle was on sink, it was empty! And you need to be an engineer to operate the coffee maker! Save the stress and go over to Stan’s Donuts across the street. But the neighborhood is great. My son got a local park pass and we left my car on the street. Uber to Wrigley it’s more than a few steps but if you walk it is safe and lots to see along the way. Great location for a north side stay.
- 5/5
Convenient and walkable with plenty of bars and restaurants to go to maybe offer discounted parking
- 4/5
For a boutique hotel this was just fine in terms of condition , staff and price. However the requirement for off site parking in a mall garage with multiple stairs and ticket payment options were not clear and made both the check in process and departure inconvenient to say the very least. While I did appreciate the room upgrade and more candid listing could have avoided my resentment .
- 5/5
Great location, clean and updated
- 3/5
The hotel was convenient to Wrigley Field, which was our reason for the visit. We also liked the area it was located. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was acceptable for a one night stay, but the bathrooms were tiny and outdated. The room was clean. The elevator was very loud when it would stop between floors. Our room was located close to the elevator, so all night we would hear a thud from the elevator and barely got any sleep. Room could use some updates. Carpet was not in the best shape. Despite some of the positives, I wouldn't stay here in the future.
- 4/5
Our room was small and needs updating. Especially the bathroom. A few additional minor upgrades would make this property much better.
- 5/5
Great location. Hotel is fun. Slightly eclectic. But we had a great stay. Our concierge Niel couldnt have been more helpful and so nice.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and professional. The hotel public area and room was clean and well updated for the most part. Although the bathroom was a little dated and awkward. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for anyone staying in the Lincoln Park or Wrigley area
- 4/5
Hotel manager was amazing! Had a small issue and he took care of it immediately.
- 5/5
Walkable to many restaurants, clean, quiet, & felt safe.
- 3/5
My only complaints were how dated elevator and bathroom were. The lobby design had me excited for something the room didn’t offer . All the doors and hallways are very narrow and the bathroom is tight for 1 person to be comfortable in
- 5/5
Great Front Desk, awesome neighborhood!
- 3/5
Old small rooms, lobby was clean, booked for the location.
- 5/5
Parking is expensive. Free street parking but limited. Was a little inconvenient coz I have a baby.
- 5/5
My favorite place to stay when visiting my daughter!
- 4/5
Very nice design
- 4/5
It's a very convenient property and nice design
