Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its central location in Chicago and helpful staff. However, the small room size is a consistent complaint across reviews.
- Central location in Chicago
- Helpful and friendly staff
- Small room size
- Noise issues due to proximity to elevator shaft or street
- 5/5
The space is worth the price
- 5/5
Unique place. make sure you book your parking in with the hotel - save you some money.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable bed, soft towels and great water pressure. Excellent location!
- 3/5
Best part was its location.
- 5/5
Was fine
- 4/5
Location Small elevator
- 5/5
Hotel was nice and clean front staff was great quick nice and helpful always with a great attitude. Housekeepers clean room every day was amazed most hotels do every other. Great location., will book again in future
- 2/5
The shower design was poor and the water spills out into sink area and a/c continuously loud noise and the bed smaller size
- 5/5
Location was excellent. Staff was helpful and kind. Breakfast was way more than expected. Will definitely recommend to friends and stay here again when I return
- 5/5
Great location. Holiday Inn does not disappoint.
- 5/5
I liked everything it was perfect because of the location , breakfast and staff being attentive
- 5/5
Breakfast is a good Rooms are small but they have all the amenities you need. I would recommend it
- 5/5
Great value for the location! Really nice breakfast. Charming old hotel so our room was very small but that was part of the charm. Would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
This hotel is in an amazing location along the magnificent mile and conveniently located to a lot of things to do while in Chicago. The staff were very friendly and helpful. That being said, this was the most I had ever paid for a hotel for one night and the room was so small there wasn’t even a chair to sit in. Along with that, our air unit was so loud that it woke us up every time it kicked on or shut off all night long. All in all I’m sorry but just not worth $500 a night
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff, excellent location, you have to pay for parking at self service ramp but it is very convenient
- 5/5
Staff was very nice . breakfast was great
- 4/5
A room near me kept slamming doors which was super loud, however, staff took care of situation fast which I appreciated. That said doors slamming by either guests or workers was incredibly loud.
- 4/5
Tod bien pero la ducha no tenía agua fría y el personal se tardó en actuar
- 1/5
The room is SO small. We got the handicap room somehow and it was still so small. The shower in there was so bad
- 4/5
Had an issue with the waiting time for the elevator, but otherwise a great place to stay and a wonderful location.
- 3/5
The staff was great. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming
- 1/5
There was Not hot water at all (on the day 5/19/2026) I waited around an hour but they couldn’t fix it. I even did not hear an apology from the rude reception people. Never ever stay here..
- 3/5
The beds were just uncomfortable to sleep on. Other than that it was standard.
- 2/5
Reserved rate of $375. Check-in clerk tried to charge a $75 parking fee in spite of fact that we had no car and had not indicated that we would have a car. First room featured nary a working electrical outlet. Demanded a different room, which featured a few, not all, working outlets. Woke up the next morning to no hot water in the room. I do appreciate that the staff halved the bill after I threw a fit, but this is nowhere near the premium hotel that they are trying to charge.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Centrally located
- 3/5
Hotel is in a good spot and is a good price. Rooms are very small and building is very old. Feels dated, the staff, however, was fantastic!
- 5/5
Excelent location. Very good breakfast. Nice staff
- 4/5
The breakfast is great. No comment on the parking since we didn't rent a car.Front staff are helpful too.
- 5/5
Property was very clean, staff was very friendly. Excellent location.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff! Courtney was absolutely amazing super helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is also within walking distance to pretty much everything. Will definitely be booking here again!
- 4/5
- 5/5
Everything was amazing, friendly staff, outstanding and very clean
- 5/5
Room was very clean with nice comfy beds. Hot Breakfast was very good with a lot to choose from, and even as busy as it was they never ran out of anything. Location can not be better.
- 3/5
I would not recommend this hotel . Location is very convenient though .
- 4/5
Está en muy buena ubicación. Hay restaurantes, farmacias, lugares para desayunar a solo unos minutos. Cerca de los lugares de interés si vienes de vacaciones.
- 5/5
This is the perfect location. The room was smaller than what I thought however it was still cozy.
- 5/5
Please come to breakfast before closing. And adhere to the hours of operation. They work hard enough without having to deal with late arrivals.
- 4.5/5
The comfort, the cleanliness, the breakfast, and the gym . About 2 :00 in the morning, the clerk at the desk didn't want to give me a bottle of water. She said she had to check for my room number first. Then told me that the water was only for club members and I could get both hot and cold water in the breakfast area I had to insist before she would give me one 4 ounce bottle of water from up under the counter. I didn't have that problem with the other staff members, only with her.

Really great location. Very helpful staff!
- 5/5
Aunque pequeño es acogedor. Tiene lo necesario otra pasar una vacaciones cómodas. Cerca de todo y caminando. Excelente servicio al cliente. Aunque el desayuno no es variado, siempre esta caliente y bien echo.
- 3/5
The location is central and perfect for transport exchanges. Front office staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are extremely small. The breakfast was the same each and every day. I had lots of luggage and needed the airlift, the attendant was not at all helpful. Cleaning staff bang on the door from 8:00am for housekeeping.
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 3/5
Breakfast menu was limited with many items missing … staff was not friendly.
- 1/5
On my first full day, the hotel ran out of basic essentials like towels and washcloths, which is unacceptable for any hotel. On a positive note, the housekeeping staff were the highlight of the experience. They were kind, professional, and much more hospitable than the front desk staff they truly set the standard for customer service. Additionally, the condition of the hotel itself needs significant improvement. The water pressure in the room was inconsistent, going in and out, and the lights flickered frequently, which was frustrating. There were also visible water-damaged spots on the ceiling that appeared to have simply been painted over rather than properly repaired. Overall, this hotel is in need of serious renovations and better staff training. I would not recommend staying here based on my experience.
- 4/5
la cama suena mucho
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
I had a hard time finding it. Front desk staff were all very nice. I parked in the parking garage then checked in- but in order to use my paid parking I needed to check in first, get a code, then park. I had to move my car out of the garage, back into traffic, to park back in the same garage, but with a code this time. They reimbursed my initial parking, which was great. Better parking directions would have been helpful. Breakfast was great. Clean. Would stay again.
- 0.5/5

Clean comfortable room , staff helpful, breakfast standard and location good

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Hotel is nicely located, near main tourist spots. Room and bathroom were very clean, great job for the maintenance team!

Tv didn’t work

Very nice accommodations
- 3/5
Great location but soundproofing on windows is terrible, lots of road noise. Everything else good

Clean, good location, staff friendly. No
- 4/5
Clean, good location, staff friendly. No
- 3/5
Staff were perfect, room had a spider crawling from the ceiling with its web snd the floor was uneven.
- 4/5
Vending machine is not working. Parking is paid, and it’s expensive
- 4/5
This hotel is nice, it has been remodeled from an old hotel that was there in the 50’s. There is no parking. We drove around the block looking for a park to check in or put our car for the night. Since traffic is horrible, we chose to leave our car in the Casino Parking deck sround the corner that the hotel suggestion. We walked to dinner and took taxis. The parking cost $55.00 per night. So hotel was reasonable but add parking to that.
- 5/5
Lovely stay through and through; staff was great, hotel was spotless, and our room was in perfect condition when we got there! Rooms are a bit small but still good otherwise.
- 1/5
Breakfast was ok what I didn’t like was they were picking up everything by 9:50 they only clean my room one time I even went to the front to let them know and one went to clean it up I had to call them everyday for clean towels
- 3/5
Breakfast is standard so just ok. WiFi is great, rooms are the smallest rooms I’ve ever been in but staff was really nice and overall it was clean
- 4/5
Hotel was easy to get to, a little outdated and shower didnt drain in room 804. Other than that it was a good experience
- 5/5
The location was excellent can walk to multiple restaurants, shops and store within 5 minutes. Breakfast could be better was very lackluster. Even though it is free the taste could have been better.

- 5/5
Excellent location--the best! I felt very safe, too. The staff was wonderful, especially Courtney--what a gem! Promote her immediately and increase her pay, please! :) The breakfast was fine and there was an acceptable amount of choices. I loved the fact that the coffee, tea, and hot tea station was open 24 hours. Also filtered water! Because of my Goild Status with hotels.com, I was upgraded to a king bed room. Couldn't be any better! Restaurants right around, some open quite late. Oh, and Trader Joe's is right across the street!
- 5/5
The staff at the front desk were super friendly and happily helped us with changing to a bigger room when we realized the room we originally booked was a little bit to small for us. Thanks!
- 5/5
.
- 4.5/5
The hotel was in a great location for us. The breakfast was really good also. The vending was completely empty/out if order. Also, the bathroom sink water never got hot in our room.

- 5/5
This hotel is perfect! Just off Michigan avenue so access to bus. Also walking distance from restaurants and some attractions.
- 4/5
The property was nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really nice. I would stay here again without hesitation.
- 3/5
The hotel was clean and close to everything we needed. The rooms are tiny! I didn't expect this. There is not even room to open up a large suitcase unless you put it on the bed. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good, just no variety, stayed exactly the same each day.
- 3.5/5
Location is brilliant and personnel helpful. The room is clean and beds are comfortable. Good value for money. Rooms are very small, parking quite expensive and breakfast with little options, especially as a celiac. Everything is wheat and/or sugar.

Please do not handles trash near the breakfast room (solarium) it was terrible, while we were eating odor was disgusting.
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Breakfast was limited but fresh. Parking was unclear and difficult but that is normal for the city.
- 2/5
The location The beds were uncomfortable and our AC didn’t work
- 4.5/5
The elevator was kind of small.

The staff was wonderful and so accommodating! Thank you or a wonderful visit!
- 5/5
Room was extremely small and tv was sticking out the wall towards the bed
- 4/5
Same food everyday. Room was very clean but very small. We had to live out of our suitcases because only a bed and desk.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
We hat I like of this property is the location!! I just have a feel like this hotel looks old and not that welcoming.
- 5/5
Breakfast was typical eggs pork sausage and pancakes. I don't eat pork and would really appreciate some fresh fruit and other options.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Its good service
- 1/5
Break fast allergy - no staff response!!
- 3/5
Staff were professional, courteous and nice. It’s an older hotel and walls are thin, so between loud neighbors, noise from the street below (car alarms, sirens, etc), and not very comfortable beds, it was not easy to sleep through the night.
- 5/5
Everythings ok ❤️
- 5/5
Friendly staff, decent breakfast, clean room. Close to amenities. Easy parking (for the fee).
- 3/5
Very cool building, in a great location. Staff was great and breakfast was decent. The rooms were smaller than they seemed in photos, and also did not hold noise from the hallways out of the room. Noisy
- 5/5
I thought it was great for the price. I like thayt the breakfast was included and check in and out was easy. Staffs are very nice. We asked to keep our bags for a few hours when we checked out and they happily did. The room is a little small but in a big city it’s normal. Highly recommend
- 3/5
Okay
- 1/5
This hotel is very old, small, and outdated. It looks nothing like the pictures. Staff was also not very accommodating.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful.
- 4/5
The room was pretty small, but it was clean a little dated. The staff was nice. The toilets were extreme small. They were almost like kid toilets, but the overall experience I will give it 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- 5/5
My room was clean and bathroom was nice. They had filtered water available at all times. The breakfast was good. They offer dove soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Everything in the hotel was super clean, the lobby, the room, the dining area. Continental breakfast was standard Holiday Inn spread with just enough to choose from. The staff were SO nice. In the couple of days we were there we interacted with four or five staff members and they were all fabulous. Location was great, shopping on Magnificent Mile and eating nearby (took the L train to get there). Can’t say enough, it was great.
- 3/5
The breakfast was so easy and pour, even one day wasn’t be eggs. The bedroom is small for the cost.
- 5/5
It looks just like it’s advertised. Lovely breakfast and the staff was amazingly friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room and courteous staff. Good breakfast with national brands not those cheap store brands. They even offer Horizon Chocolate milk pack and good brand yogurts.
- 5/5
Very nice check in
- 4/5
yes
- 3/5
great area, hotel was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was great. The only downside was the beds, we had 2 double beds and they were very squeaky, and uncomfortable. it was like sleeping on an old-school pull-out couch with metal springs. One bed didn't even lay flat but was raised at the feet making it very awkward.
- 5/5
the second night, someone cleaned my room forgot to put a sheet under the comforter.
- 5/5
Everything was close by, we were in the perfect spot. Have fun in this hotel, this was an amazing property.
- 5/5
Shops close, great location. Clean.
- 2/5
room space is super small
- 5/5
Very courteous staff. My wife was unexpectedly discharged from Northwestern Hospital a day earlier than expected and the hotel representative gave me a credit for the last day. I am very satisfied with my stay.
- 5/5
I was in Chicago for a conference. Holiday Inn Express Chicago was a pleasant walk from the conference center (and about half the price). There were plenty of shops and restaurants right outside the door - including a Trader Joes. My room was clean. The staff was lovely and the breakfast had lots of healthy choices.
- 5/5
be aware that there is no fridge or microwave
- 4/5
Basic room which was clean and regularly attended by housekeeping. Staff helpful. Good location for downtown area and Navy Pier. Some good restaurants in walking distance (Portillos, Giordano’s).
- 3/5
It was cheap! Clean but small room, nice location. But we could hear the elevator working from inside our room all night long and both elevators went out at one point, forcing us to climb the 15 floors to our room. Also, I almost couldn’t check in because I’m 20, not 21. I’ve literally never heard of such a rule before. Thankfully, my partner was over the age threshold or we would have had to find a new hotel
- 1/5
Bed were absolutely terrible and uncomfortable. Check-in person was rude and NOT helpful during check-in. Small hallways and could barely walk around cleaning lady daily.
- 4/5
This place doesn’t have their own parking so you will need to paid extra to stay in parking ramp that next to their building.
- 5/5
Everything ok
- 5/5
So great
- 4/5
My only concern would be thermostat. The heat wasn’t regulating. Once I entered the room it was cool then I turned on the heat. Then it became extremely hot. Otherwise it was a good stay thank you.
- 5/5
Beautifully rustic
- 5/5
Breakfast great! Very good location All good!
- 5/5
It is called the tiny hotel of Chicago! I would recommend it!
- 4/5
Breakfast great!
- 4/5
The room was very nice but also VERY small! No walk way to even get to the bathroom area. Also, house keeping came to bring towels but not make up the bed the 2nd night.
- 4/5
Clean room, great location, 24 hour fitness center
- 5/5
The staff were very polite and when I had an issue they made sure I had everything I needed. Will stay again. Their location is perfect too. Walking distance to all shopping and food.
- 5/5
Room, views and walkable to everything. The staff was so warm and accommodating.
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
The room was clean but a bit dated. Loved the area.
- 4/5
Staff were nice & they had toilettries.
- 3/5
Nice hotel, friendly staff, great location. We stayed 2 nights. Room was small and cramped for 3 adults. The view outside our window was 3 brick walls to an ac corridor and other room windows. Which was very disappointing for a first trip to Chicago and we couldn’t look out the window. Housekeeping skipped our room on day 2 so we had to get fresh towels from reception.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Excellent location for walking everywhere and eating out Excellent breakfast offering. Clean room, clean hallways. Perfect room size for 1 person, tight for 2 (had a queen bed room). Simple to use heating fan.
- 5/5
The hotel has a very good location, clean rooms and an excellent breakfast. The rooms are clean, but quite small and have no refrigerator or microwave.
- 2/5
One mattress was uncomfortable and made a lot of noise from the springs with the slightest change of position On our last day, we found a small cockroach in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Awesome Awesome
- 4/5
Great breakfast and location was great!! Just a short walk to Michigan Ave.
- 5/5
Immediately greeted by the nicest smiles and hospitality. Creating a warm inviting atmosphere. The front desk ladies did a great job welcoming us . Room was clean and location was perfect
- 5/5
Excelent
- 2/5
Wasn’t what I expected
- 3/5
Bigger size, inside pool, better breakfast
- 4/5
The breakfast was good however, The bagels were stale and when trying to get the eggs and such the lids would not stay up. You should move the plant by the juices and place the plates, bowls, etc for easier access for those who are vertically challenged. Felt on the bottom of the chairs they will move more easily and quieter.
- 3.5/5
Price was right, friendly staff at front desk and at breakfast. The automatic pancake machine always makes my day. Adjacent room was partying and they were smoking weed.
- 5/5
Thin walls, neighbors are easy to hear
- 3/5
Loved the area
- 3.5/5
Location and parking was included!
- 5/5
We had 3 vegans in our group. I was impressed that the hotel called to see what we needed to eat. The hotel was very accommodating. We were very impressed. The service was great. The rooms are small we made it work.
- 4/5
The room was clean and staff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was better than most similarly priced hotel breakfasts but not as good as it looked in pictures. Really great location with lots of food and transit nearby and walking distance from the loop.
- 2/5
Cold room with loud heater that went on and off intermittently all night. I had an accessible room with a leaky shower. My mobility issues are fine enough that i was able to use it but it was not comfortable. I feel it would be very challenging for someone who uses a wheelchair. I went downstairs and asked to borrow a regular chair for sitting (there wasn’t one in the room) and was told no. It was fine, just not terribly comfortable. The seating area for breakfast was very nice!
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
Clean rooms. They were a bit small but its a great location to everything so well worth it.
- 4/5
Small room but it was clean
- 4/5
Check in was easy, breakfast was good and fresh! Beds were comfy but the room was on the smaller side. The location was perfect to all things downtown. Our only negative was that the TV stopped working or second day there. We told them immediately and they didn't have anyone come look at it. They did offer us another room, but that would have been to much of a hassle. All in all it was a great stay and we would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Excelente, la ubicación, la limpiéza y el desayuno
- 3/5
Kind staff. Toilet had a rust water leak that shouldve been noticed prior to checking in. Suitable room for one person but felt crowded with another person.
- 5/5
Excellent location and everything clean. The staff was exceleent and also the breakfast is a plus one!!
- 1/5
The staff was rude, water pressure was in and out, it was like staying in a hostel, the rooms where very small and the doors didn’t have separate insulation on the bottoms so it was a space and you could hear someone 3 doors down in the room, the slams of the doors are very bad the sound of people in the hallways. This is not a place to sleep or relax! I’m so disappointed I paid for 7 nights. What a rip off , the heater didn’t even work right. Everything was bad! Never again!
- 4/5
A little bit of a tiny room, but overall a great experience, great location, great breakfast included in your stay and kind staff.
- 5/5
Very friendly
- 3.5/5
The rooms were very small and the bathroom was a little dirty when we entered
- 5/5
The Hotel Cass was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was conveniently located to many of the main things to do in downtown Chicago. The breakfast area was very crowded, and the food, although not terrible, was repetitive. The room was perfect for our family of four.
- 5/5
We love to stay at
- 2/5
Rooms are too small - barely any room to walk between the bed and the bathroom. Location is good
- 5/5
This hotel was very convenient for me, 9 minute walk to the river walk, 1 min walk to the Bally casino and surrounded by restaurants it was perfect
- 5/5
Nice clean room, courteous staff
- 3/5
Excellent great experience
- 5/5
Staff was courteous and room was spotless. Excellent value for the location.
- 4/5
Reasonable price. Staff was courteous.
- 5/5
I just wish I would've known about the additional $100 deposit fee but other than that great customer service, great breakfast and perfect 👌 room also the 12:00 check out is so much more convenient than 11am like everywhere else
- 3/5
Bed mattress needs changed.
- 4/5
The location was tremendous, easy access for most of the city. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was a little small, but clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
The room was incredibly tiny. Very few outlets. Very small bathroom. The floor was not attached to the sub floor so it sounded like our shoes were sticking to the floor when we were walking. The room was absolutely freezing. When we turned the thermastat to 74, burning hot air blew so hard it took our breath away. 73 degrees was arctic air freezing us out. The windows were desparately thin, the screens were falling off of them, and the entire area in and around the windows were like a freezer. We put drinks on the window bc the room did not have a refrigerator. The space around the window was absolutely FREEZING. I wanted to fill a water bottle and asked at the front desk the woman told me there was something I could use in the breakfast area. I said there was but the water was hot. She just said oh and did nothing to cool the water or provide ice. When housekeeping came, they made up one of our beds and left the other. Lots of noise from the street, hallways are very noisy. It was an interesting stay.
- 5/5
Clean, accesible to nearby establishments and staff were so polite and helpful to our needs.
- 5/5
Everything was just as advertised. My children and i gad a great visit to Chicago. When we come back, we are going to stay here
- 4/5
The staff was helpful to me and the amenities helped as well such as breakfast being served each day. The location was perfect for site seeing.
- 5/5
I liked the location and how it was in the center of a lot of shopping and restaurants. Front staff was very friendly and helpful. I can't think of anything.
- 2/5
Very noisy hallway, window is broken , we have to cranked the hit up to 80’ we asked them try to fixing it - they said it’s fixed it wasn’t.
- 5/5
Food was hot and good. Cinnamon rolls are the best I have had. No Laundry facility
- 4/5
Good location, clean room but room felt cold
- 5/5
Amazing! Love this place.
- 3/5
The room was good and there are staffs that should smile more. I did not like that we could hear the noises from outside the windows and voices outside our room.
- 5/5
Staff
- 3/5
The breakfast was not good. You’d think you have more options for the prices but it’s not really any. The ice machine was down on my level had to travel to other floors to get ice. It’s really a motel but upscale because of them doing some decoration.
- 5/5
Yes and it was excellent.
- 2/5
The showers only had cold water, my room wasn't cleaned when i asked. I had to ask twice. The rooms are too small if you travel from out of town. I will never stay here again. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
I think more choice for the breakfast would be good like bacon, nutella, more fruit juice, fruits. The pancake machine was very amazing !! Thanks for the stay, I would let a 8/10
- 4/5
The room was clean, small. We requested a higher floor and staff accommodated us. Front desk took the time to write out directions how to get to the subway and how to take it to Wrigley Field. He then refused a cash tip and said it was part of his job. Sasha at front door was friendly and helpful. Everyone at front desk was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Staff responsible
- 4/5
Worked for what we needed
- 4/5
While the room was very small it was clean, remodeled nicely and had great staff.
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 5/5
Perfect location and view
- 4/5
Was smaller than expected but the price was right. Staff was very nice.
- 3/5
Bed size was a little small, and we didn’t end up getting housekeeping service for the 2 days we where there..
- 5/5
Room was small but clean, friendly and helpful staff.
- 4/5
An affordable and clean place to stay. The building looks old, but the interior looks good.
- 2/5
Got there and room was not ready for another 30 min.also called before hand about parking.told us next door parking garage is available for $55 .get there they tell us the lot is closed!!
- 3/5
Small, dark room that was cold even with the heat turned up. Met basic requirements, but not welcoming.
- 5/5

Staff and amenities
- 4/5
Clean room, great location, same breakfast every day but multiple offerings
- 3/5
Rooms are small, bed comfort level is 6/10.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel super clean, great staff
- 5/5
Beautiful small intimate place. Plenty of food in the area. Great staff and breakfast
- 4/5
They had a big bfast bar for the morning with lots of seating.
- 4/5
We had a corner room, pretty small, not even a dresser. We used the ironing board for out clothes.
- 4/5
Great location friendly team
- 2/5
I had to make several trips to reception to change key room, didn’t work. Had to wait for a long time until we had another room. To much noise in the morning for some people out side of the building on strike and finally parking lot kind of far from hotel
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Great location and staff, just a bit noisy
- 2/5
Rooms were extremely small.
- 5/5
Great location to see and do everything in Chicago.
- 4/5
Overall, nice hotel.
- 1/5
The phone didn’t even work in the room, TV was scratched up
- 1/5
Is just terrible. You need new bed sheets. I don’t think anyone I will recommend to will be happy with me . The place is not not not giving .👎
- 4/5
Same breakfast everyday
- 5/5
and we plan to come again and I would not hesitate to come here again.
- 4/5
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Shower had great pressure. It is an old (but well maintained) building so the rooms are small. Noise from outside like sirens is pretty loud, but that is city life. Our room did not have a fridge (no space) so if that is important to you then be sure to request a room with one. There are only two small elevators so sometimes you have to wait, but it wasn’t a problem. We enjoyed our stay here.
- 3/5
Dirty pillow cases and no fridge and room was not too space full
- 4/5
Small rooms, bit noisy too
- 5/5
It was good
- 4/5
Rooms were comfortable but so small.. we had to shimmy to get from the frint door to the bathroom. Great location though. Very clean. 1/2 a block from the Bally's Casino. 5 blocks from the Riverwalk. Caddy corner to Pizza Due with excellent deep dish.
- 3/5
Problems with beef and gave me wrong type of room
- 5/5
Near the riverwalk
- 5/5
We stayed at the hotel for the marathon. Easy walkable to many store, dinning options and trains.
- 4/5
Cards don’t work gotta fix that - rest of the stay was good tho
- 1/5
My stay was horrible. Let's start with the phone in the room that did not work. I told the front desk clerk, and she was going to send someone. No one ever came. Then I woke up to a loud noise where the customer was locked in a room and could not get it. This was around 5 am. Then the hotel staff came and were beating and hammering the door to get it open. You can just imagine the loud noise.
- 5/5
Staff were great! Valeria
- 4/5
Our room wasn't very clean. Shower got the whole bathroom floor wet when you used it. Breakfast was wonderful and breakfast area was very clean. Desk staff very helpful.
- 4/5
Great location!
- 5/5
Clean, but small room. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Close to many things.
- 3/5
We were prepared for the small room, which didn't bother us, which just acted as if we were in Japan. The location & employees are great. The morning buffet was nice. However 3 problems we had were: the floor is wavy in a way that we could not figure out unless the subfloor is rotted with new laminate over it. This could be a major hazard if you are unstable and prone to falls, especially when getting up in the night. (others reported the same floor issue in their room) ; the doors have auto-closures that closed them so firmly that they slammed. This is a problem if others on your floor come in late at night or leave early in the morning as the slamming wakes you ; the AC seemed to turn up or stop while sleeping which may be due to something that looked like a motion detector on the thermostat, which will not trigger if you are sleeping. We did not report these to the very nice staff as these are design flaws and nothing they could correct. No reason to move to another room as it seemed to be the same thing throughout the property. Also a little shelf or two in the bathroom would help. This is the first time I recall leaving a low rating but these things, especially the non-level floors really need to be re-designed.
- 5/5
Maybe I would come back again some day
- 5/5
Cute historical property
- 5/5
Front desk staff was so amazing.
- 5/5
Comfortable, no frills
- 5/5
Great all around!
- 5/5
Nice small European style hotel
- 4/5
yes and no
- 5/5
Very clean, nice staff, great location
- 4/5
This hotel was in a great location with easy parking.
- 5/5
It was cozy, quiet and just a good spot to kind of step away and get some rest.
- 4/5
Location, location, location
- 1/5
Dirty, noisy even at 3am.
- 4/5
Hotel exterior and interior lobby was very well maintained. The room was shockingly small. The floor was a bit in despair, had a big dip in it between the bed and the bathroom door. Bathroom was a good size and was clean. Decent view out of the window. Bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
The property was walkable to the Magnificent Mile. I was a lone traveler and felt safe the entire time. The room was quiet and clean. Directly across the street from Trader Joes and the breakfast options were good.
- 5/5
Muy bueno
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
Overall, good experience and was in a good part of Chicago (downtown)
- 3/5
The loading bay from the supermarket opposite is in use very early in the morning leading to very disturbed sleep due to the noise from the forklift and the truck being loaded.
- 5/5
Good view of the city from room made it extra special
- 3/5
No visible plug next to bed for CPAP machine (had to drag bed away from wall to reveal plug) No microwave or refrigerator Very good breakfast Friendly staff Adequate makeover from old style hotel Excellent location for walking around
- 2/5
Rooms are so so tiny. No desk or place to sit besides the bed, which you’ll have to move to access the bathroom
- 4/5
That said, rooms and lobby were very clean and well kept, and when I had to call the front desk for a towel they came up with extras right away. The breakfast provided was also pretty good.
- 5/5
Loved it
- 3/5
The breakfast was nice though.
- 5/5
On our last day in Chicago, we checked out but our flight was later in the day. They held our luggage for us so that we could sight see for a few more hours. EXCELLENT!!!
- 5/5
Cute hotel in a historic building close to everything
- 5/5
Breakfast was solid, everything was clean.
- 4/5
Nice location. Rooms are small, but are okay for single travelers. Trader Joe’s across the street is convenient. Parking a vehicle is expensive. Don’t pay extra for breakfast.
- 3/5
Parking is bad
- 1/5
Breakfast was awful very limited understaffed and the elevator is so slow just take the stairs
- 4/5
The toilet seat was loose and should have been inspected prior to check-in. The room was clean.
- 1/5
Found bugs in bed the first night, was then moved to a room with stained and dirty sheets. Very gross, stay away.
- 2/5
The room was very tiny and didn’t have a fridge, microwave or even chair and table to sit at. When we opened our window we could see straight into the room of our neighbor. The hotel is also being protested for cutting their union, so our check in experience was affected by that. We would not have booked if we had known these facts beforehand. The staff was polite, but we Definitely will not stay again
- 5/5
Everything is good
- 4/5
Room Too small, staff entered roo. When do not disturb sign on door, did not get the wake up call I requested, not handicap friendly
- 4/5
Breakfast was good. Hotel doesn’t park car. You have to self park close by. It was a hassle but once parked things were fine. We had very small room but ok for 2 nites.
- 3/5
There was employee strike going on at the Hotel and lots of noise. Rooms are extremely small and not much choice for breakfast.
- 4/5
The pros -quick and easy check in -inexpensive -convenient location -just a few minutes walk to Red Line Station The cons -Room was small -No Fridge Overall we liked the hotel. We might decide to spend a little more on a nicer place next time. There may have been nicer/larger rooms in the higher floors. It was nice having Trader Joe’s on the next block. We also walked to eat at Gordon Ramsays, Quartino and Eatily. We mainly wanted to be within walking distance of the Harry Potter store, and this fit the bill
- 4/5
Bed was comfortable, breakfast good, room VERY small
- 5/5
Very nice, simple location that gets the job done
- 2/5
Small room, felt like a college dorm.
- 5/5
I added the $80/day parking on this website - I don’t recommend this, it’s $55 at the hotel. Parking conveniently located.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Nice place, nice service
- 5/5
Excelente
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 4/5
I really liked the free breakfast. There were great choices. I also am very impressed with the Internet service. The bed was very comfortable and I liked the shower. I liked how I was able to pay less by not having housekeeping daily. The vending machines did not work properly. I did tell a staff member about that. Thank you for providing an excellent place to stay as I am helping my parents.
- 5/5
Very clean and loved the location, good breakfast too. The room could have been slightly bigger, but that was mentioned by the lobby that it will be compact
- 4/5
Bed bugs. Small.
- 4/5
Rooms were small but the location for the price was great. Convenient, included breakfast that had a good range of options.
- 4/5
Overall it was a good place to stay . More comfortable bed would have made it excellent
- 4/5
They have a breakfast included everyday, I don't eat breakfast but my husband loved it everyday. The location we found close to everything and easy to get uber. Great shopping two blocks away, largest Starbucks in the US is literally is two blocks away. You can get an uber and or bus both easy to access. The door man was very friendly and extremely helpful. With all that being said, we had a great time. But make sure you look at square footage of the hotel room, because the rooms are extremely small, I cannot emphasize this enough. As a result of the small room, we saw a many things and it forced us to get out and enjoy our time. Front desk, was somewhat helpful. Meanwhile, for the price and what we got I would likely stay there again.
- 3/5
It was fine
- 5/5
Hotel close to navy pier and alot of activities. Room was clean, staff were great. Free breakfast was wonderful so many selections and fresh. Great value to stay in chicago
- 4/5
For the most part, the room was fine. However, there was a lack of storage space. (One small closet with a very small, 3 drawer chest inside) The towels were functional, but they were not all that absorbant and several needed repair (holes, etc). Overall, for the price, a very nice hotel and would recommend it.
- 5/5
This hotel has some history to it. It has been fully restored and updated. The rooms are on the small side. But, the staff and location are outstanding. This is being said with the knowledge that the location is right in the middle od dowtown Chicago and "Big City" noise is part of the stay. Breakfast eggs and sausage was hot and fresh. My only issue was the parking garage. It is on the small side for full size trucks and suv's. So had little trouble finding spots. As I had to park at end of isle slots to avoid any overhang.
- 5/5
Nothing
- 3/5
The room was too small. No desk or chair. Had to sit on the bed. Bathroom was decent but I had to go to the front desk to get wash cloths because none in the bathroom. Rooms were cool but lobby and hallways uncomfortably warm. Bed okay.
- 4/5
the location was perfect, the building with just to small elevators that took forever to be available and always full. The bedroom, extremely small. The bed, too high, impossible to just sit on the bed, very uncomfortable.
- 3/5
Super super small rooms, no a/c in común areas, very very noise. Ice maquine and vending machine room super extra hot, no a/c. The Nice place, but there's no air conditioning in common areas. Parking isn't available. The bed is super hard and the rooms are very small. Very noise, and the bath towels were not complete.
- 1/5
They false advertise the size of the rooms. Ttey are very small and poorly designed.
- 4/5
Lovely staff at Check the n and the lady who did get us some breakfast at 10 was a gem :)
- 2/5
Rooms were small, strange layout, renovation quality was very low. Lady at night was cranky and when I asked to look at another room she replied “What are you looking for? All the rooms are the same. It’s an old building!”
- 5/5
Thanks for the food and amazing service
- 5/5
The climate and the bedding as well as the toiletries offered. Consider having robes. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.
- 4/5
The room is a little small for the price. However, it is a cute little hotel. The complimentary breakfast is barely average, but it's free. The staff was really nice. I appreciated how helpful they were when I asked questions. The fitness center is small barely has any equipment. Thankfully, it wasn't busy while I was in there. It's in a great spot to find nice places to eat and there is a Trader Joe's around the corner. Overall, it was a nice hotel. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Great hotel but very disappointed with the breakfast. The English muffins were extremely dry and old. Inedible! Many flies also in the breakfast dining area.
- 2/5
First of all the description of the room is not correct and the windows looks very old and needs to be updated the mattress is not comfortable. I did not like my room and my sister also didn’t like her room 😔
- 5/5
And excellent and cordial smilling face
- 2/5
Hotel was ok not more that. Our room was very small, AC was extremely noisy that we couldnt sleep all night. Breakfast was ok, location was good
- 4/5
Hotel was in a very convenient area very close to shopping and entertainment. Room was small but great for the price. The only issue was noise from the street carried into the room.
- 4/5
Certain staff couldn’t answer any questions about certain things
- 4/5
We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. Rooms are small , beds are comfortable, clean . Bathroom is in good condition . Breakfast is decent. There is only one toaster that is working very slow . They need 2 or 3 new toasters for sure .overall not to bad .
- 4/5
Rooms are incredibly small. I booked 2 double beds and got one which barely fit in the room.
- 5/5
Small room but nice location
- 2/5
The phone didn’t work, coffee maker was working if hit it, water in bath sink had no pressure. Room too small, no place to keep stuff in bath. Dog was across hall that bark constantly. Reported it but nothing done. Protestor was in front and had megaphone. Just very disappointed with the hotel. Stayed in Holiday Inn Express before and this is the worse I’ve encountered.
- 4/5
Room was small, but adequate. Great shower and breakfast!
- 3/5
Rooms are small then expected
- 4/5
Property was in a convenient location for what we wanted to do and see. Check in was very quick and easy. Having breakfast on site was a great perk. Only downside was that the rooms were not insulated from all the hallway noise.
- 5/5
It was a wonderful hotel. Rooms were a little small but that’s exactly texted in bigger cities. It has a great location. We had a wonderful stay with as a family.
- 2/5
Property was smaller than advertised. Not real clean feeling and loud
- 3/5
The room was clean but very small for the price. Had an elevator issue that was scary and no hot water to shower. The breakfast was good with lots of choices.
- 2/5
When a concern was voiced about the small room - no bureau for clothes, nowhere to sit and not enough space for two people. One manager just walked away while another got annoyed and said "so what? Do you want to cancel your stay and go somewhere else". Not a hint of knowledge of customer relations. With the lack of management acumen and the lack of a decent size room I won't be back. Bottom line - if anyone is looking for a nice comfortable stay, look elsewhere.
- 3/5
Few amenities and small for the price paid for the room, staff was helpful and kind.
- 5/5
Room was extra small, but nice!
- 4/5
Great stay
- 4/5
Location is great. The staffs were very kind and helpful. Breakfast is just Holiday Inn grade. Perfect for a business trip.
- 5/5
It’s an older property but maintained
- 5/5
Ок
- 5/5
A place very nice, clean, and beautiful place to stay. Everything is so close by.
- 3/5
The AC too noisy
- 5/5
Great location. Comfortable bed. Clean. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
The toilet was to low!!
- 5/5
Cleanliness was pretty good other than the floors were sticky
- 4/5
Excellent area of Chicago with dining and shopping
