Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and convenient location. Guests appreciate the friendly and accommodating staff. However, some guests have issues with the pool area being overcrowded and not well-maintained. There are also complaints about hidden fees and the lack of free breakfast.

Overall it was good for the price. Good location and friendly staff. However the washer/dryer was an issue. Two washers but only one was working. You guys need to invest in this amenity.

Pleasantly surprised by the large room with great views. Hotel is centrally located, clean, staff were helpful

Rooms were very clean

Clean big rooms no breakfast included friendly staff also no parking you have to pay 75 dollars a day to park your car at the hotel or order a parking space from a garage nearby (which we did 90 dollars for three days but you have to walk a couple of miles back to hotel) and airport is over an hour away because of traffic all the time so make sure you give yourself enough time to get back to airport also car rental companies are not in the same building as the rental car companies you have to take transit which is across the street which no one tells you, we had to find someone to ask because the signs act like they are right at the airport.

Fantastic location and a very nice property! Highly recommend!

Air conditioner broke the first night, called the next day and no one came all day. Finally someone came and fixed it. He said “it's probably going to break again, but just call us”……. As expected it broke again….. While we were sleeping…..90 degrees out and no AC is unacceptable for the price of this room. Also, fridge froze everything and the microwave didn't work. Stay elsewhere

I had a very nice view of the lake from my room. The air conditioning was a little loud but other than that a pleasant stay.
- 5/5
Great hotel, clean efficient and not too far from Downtown would stay again!
- 4/5
Both Washer and drier work with coins only. Also had a hard time closing the door of my hotel room.
- 5/5
The front desk staff are rated as 4, it will be beneficial that they get a retraining on how to manage customers (need to pay attention on which is the question and provide an answer that helps customer). Most of the time they acted as robots. Rooms were clean and was very, very impressed on how clean is the Chicago downtown area. Overall, it was a 5 rated experience for my stay in Chicago.
- 4/5
I could barely sleep cause there was a loud air con that would kick on and then the elevator would be roaring around. The staff where all extremely great and friendly.
- 5/5
The hotel is located right in the heart of downtown Chicago, just a block away from Lake Michigan. If you go up the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), you can get an even better view of the Chicago downtown skyline. The only downside was the valet parking; after waiting for 30 minutes and no valet staff showing up, I ended up using a nearby outdoor pay-parking lot instead. I think I paid around 20 dollars.

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience trying to get a room with Booking.com. The hotel was nice over the phone but could not find my reservation. Booking should have taken care of this after multiple calls and concerns, but they did not :(. I really wanted to stay here. The hotel front desk was accommodating it was all on booking.com that I had issues.
- 5/5
The view I had from the 29th floor. The corner room was lovely. The bed and the shower in the bathroom was lovely. All of the room cleaners deserve at least a 2.50 raise. The rooms were clean There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about the property.

The room is very clean — it has everything you need
- 5/5
Room temp was more easy to control manually (on/off).

This was my first time at this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised how modern and clean it was. While I have visited Chicago many times and have stayed in many hotels. This was one of the best hotel at an affordable price that I could remember that was so close so many landmark eateries. I’m coming back to Chicago later in the year and I will definitely come back to this hotel.

Great location, room was excellent - very clean and spacious. Had a nice walk-in wardrobe. Didn’t interact with the staff much but was pleasant at check-in.
- 3/5
We had a fine one-night stay and appreciated this hotel's convenient location for visiting the museums. The room was clean with a nice view and the pool area was good. There were a couple of big downers, though. The mini-fridge in our room didn't work. Turned out it was unplugged and cooled down fairly quickly once we plugged it in. But we shouldn't have had to do that ourselves! There were no regular coffee pods in our room, only decaf and tea. Really? Especially considering the lack of complimentary breakfast, I expected at least access to a cup of coffee in the morning. I booked our stay knowing this was a budget option rather than a full-service hotel, but I would probably not stay here again due to the lack of even the most basic conveniences like a working fridge and coffee for the in-room coffee maker.

I checked the bathroom and saw black mold like substanceI took pictures. Showed them to hotel clerk who was kind and gave me a new room key. The 2nd bathroom had black mold substance worst than the first room. I took pictures and got a room key for a 3rd room. It was mold free bathroom. The WiFi code did not work properly. Room phone did not work in 3rd room. Warning, if you stay here check the bathroom for black mold substance before you unpack. I will not be returning to this hotel.
- 5/5
Amazing location! We were able to walk to all local landmarks and great spots to eat. The room was very clean with an incredible view.
- 4/5
AC unit was either very cold or very hot. Kind staff. Breakfast not included. Small pool in comparison to photos.
- 4/5
Very comfortable room with a fabulous view. The first night (a Friday) we had noisy neighbors all night, but the next night was quiet. The hair conditioner bottle was empty and they brought us a replacement bottle but it wasn't conditioner but liquid hand soap. But otherwise it's a nice hotel and very convenient to the Southshore train line.
- 5/5
Great location and clean room
- 2/5
Well when we got there the breakfast wasn't even offered to us we were totally couldn't eat it. Our bed didn't only have bed bugs in it it had candy from other residents staying there. Swimming pool and hot tub was amazing our refrigerator froze all of our food and drinks and it was on the lowest setting
- 5/5
Everything was nice & clean! Great location !

Way to expensive for what you get. No breakfast. Cold pool. Noisy at night.

There was no water at all for sale in their "store." After my room was cleaned, they didn't replenish the water bottles. I went to look for water in their store, and there was none there to purchase at all.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, fast elevator. We would stay here again. Actually, we might prefer to stay at the adjacent hotel run by the same company, (lower room rates and free breakfast are included at that hotel).
- 4/5
I’ve stayed here before and absolutely love how convenient the location is. The staff are really nice and helpful. The hotel is nice and cleans, as well as the rooms.
- 4/5
Updated and well maintained
- 5/5
Had a great stay. No hassle, great location.
- 5/5
Room was clean. We traveled with children and the property worked well for us. Pool and hot tub was a hit. Great location to all of the tourist attractions. Staff were kind to offer to hold our bags on the last day so we could catch one more attraction. I would absolutely stay here again especially with kids.
- 4/5
There's no restaurant in the hotel. Next doors, restaurants, bakeries, pharmacy and Traders Joe are available.

Furniture worn down, torn up, door falling off hinges on fridge. Need to be updated. Staff is a joke, they are lazy! I will NEVER stay there again!

Great location, customer service was very nice , clean rooms and the pool was great . Good breakfast !
- 5/5
As always the property was great. The view is phenomenal. The location is great. Walking distance to the lake, landmarks, parks, museums, grocery stores, restaurants, and public transportation. Staff is top notch. It is probably time for them to start considering remodeling/upgrading though.
- 5/5

I enjoyed my solo trip at this hotel. The location was convenient, as I was able to get there via the "L" train from MDW airport. The room was quaint and comfortable and the amenities were nice. I would stay again.

- 4/5
Front desk not able to provide useful tourist tips etc.
- 4/5
Easy check in and clean rooms, comfortable beds and easy access to everything downtown.
- 4/5
Hotel was easy to get to by Metra from Midway. Relatively easy walking distance to the planetarium, aquarium, Field Museum and art institute. Staff was welcoming.
- 2/5
The hallways were not the clean. The room was fine. And the pool and hot tub were gross. The hot tub was nasty and had scum all over the sides and for my wife first Hilton experience and we rather stay at a La Quinta. So over all yeah not the best. For the price it was a crappy stay and for the convenience of location it was fine. We did spend the same amount on parking tho as our room.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Quick and easy check in. Clean room. Nice views. Hotel smelt nice.
- 5/5
Make a small section for breakfast not a restaurant
- 5/5
My say was really good. I thought having to use the master light switch was weird but ok. Also I was sorely disappointed in the selection of refreshments in the lobby for purchase.....absolutely no soda options, which could be a missed opportunity for additional sales.
- 2.5/5
Clean close to everything, Well the phone in our room Didn't work which was a problem ring they told us to call down to the valet to get out car so we had to wait excessively to retrieve our car from the garage, the cleaning service only came every other day to tidy up but there where only towels for one days worth of showers, and the one lady at checkout was a little rude

Experience could’ve been significantly better. There’s no real way to get rid of trash from takeout apart from “leaving it in front of the door” but no one ever comes to get it. For the price one would think that it would be in much better shape but instead there’s peeling wallpaper and a shower that constantly drips no matter how you adjust the shower head. Cleanliness can be so much better since towels had some light stains along with the bedding. The location is it’s only real saving grace, otherwise we’ll avoid staying here again.

The bead was hard as a rock in my room was dirty
- 3.5/5
Convenient for the museums and galleries. A 25 minute pleasant walk to the riverfront along the park. We had a corner room at the front so a super view to the lake. Towels only changed every 2 days.

Tried to use the indoor pool, but unfortunately it was monopolized by children and rude teenagers. Location downtown was very good and easy to use transit system both bus and train.

Cons: We had two rooms during our visit. The non-city view room was super dark and dreary and seemed a bit run down. The city view room was much nicer! On our second night, my kids used the hot tub and there was clearly too much chlorine added. Our eyes watered, it caused us to cough, and the foam literally bleached and caused the fabric on their bathing suits to wrinkle and disintegrate. (They swam on the first night and the water was fine!) The evening staff were completely useless. Another big inconvenience… Our door dash order didn’t include any plasticware. (We had ordered some pasta dishes.) The front desk staff could not provide us with any. Any?! It seemed incredibly odd that a giant hotel wouldn’t have any forks or spoons, anywhere?? I was advised to “check the breakfast area on the 8th floor” and found all of the cupboards locked. And don’t sell cups of microwaveable oatmeal and mac and cheese if you don’t also offer utensils. Common sense. Seriously, we’re pretty easy to please while traveling. But the complete lack of motivation by the nighttime staff and the pool water fiasco really made me upset.

Staff and service was great. I’ve stayed here every year since 2020 and I love it.

I had a great trip, and would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Chicago. The hotel and rooms were clean, the hotel offered lots of services and was in a great location. In addition to a great location there was a beautiful view from the hotel windows!

The Hotel does not offer any carts for the convenience of unloading several luggage's or other items that are too heavy.

I would not recommend this property. It is very loud. The shower head dripped on the metal pan in the base of the shower all day and night. Additionally, the room is very dark.

Hotel was clean, up to date, afforable when compared to other hotels in the area and conveniently located. These are the best parts of this Hilton nother else really sticks out about it. There is a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel and a bakery at the corner of the same block if youre in town for a quick visit or business I would recommend it, if you plan id for leisure then go with the other Hilton.

From the jump it was rough didn’t really get any information. Then vallet parking parked my vehicle I came down in the morning. They night shift couldn’t find my key. I had to wait and hour ina half finally figured out someone had it in the pocket the guy had to bring it back up there. I will say even through the chaos. Olivia did everything she could to make it happen and was very positive during the whole situation . I don’t remember the securities name but he was running around doing his best as well . Besides those two it was a rough experience.

Great
- 4/5
Room was clean.
- 2.5/5
The purpose of my booking the room was for us to enjoy the hot tub and pool after our massages. Either was available, so I feel I should've chosen a different hotel instead. Per Front Desk staff: Hot tub: someone puked the day before and hasn't been cleaned; swimming pool was about to be shut down due to an excessive number of children.
- 5/5
The rooms have a really nice view of the skyline and the staff is friendly and helpful I just didn’t like the fact breakfast doesn’t come with the stay & also I feel like they need to touch up the paint in the rooms. I noticed some chipped paint on the pillar and walls & it was a little difficult to unlock the bathroom door.
- 4/5
Only big downside for me that I feel should be communicated prior to booking is that they do charge a deposit fee for potential damage per day; for me it was $75 per day. This was unexpected since I came to Chicago with a specific budget. However, it was returned right after check out thankfully and the staff did a good job at explaining why they charge this. Other minor downsides were that the hotel walls were a bit thin: we had some nosy neighbors and could hear them clearly eventhough they were two rooms down. The cleaning ladies are bit loud in the morning as well and play loud music while cleaning. Nothing wrong with them entertaining themselves, however, I do believe they should consider some guests sleep in and should keep the noise to a minimum. Other than that, the hotel was an excellent experience!!!

Nice room and cool places to walk to
- 4/5
Wish there was a luggage cart, or near the front of the lobby. Was a challenge getting the car unloaded with a young kid a cart would have been a huge asset.
- 3/5
The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The TV and telephone didn’t work. We told the front desk and they said that someone would come and look at it but no one ever showed up nor did they contact us. The bathroom was also dirty. Dark smudges were on the bathroom light switch and the front of the vanity was dusty and dirty. It wouldn’t have taken much time to wipe them down. Also the bottom of the bathroom door was rusty and could have easily been fixed with a little of paint. For the price, I expect a little bit better experience.

I stayed in corner room, heater vent is only on one side of room, half of room bed area gets teally hot but the door / rest room area is cold. Train noise if bad, feels like in wind tunnels every 5 - 10 mins all day and all night
- 4/5
Everything was excellent, EXCEPT for the fact that the pool (which is heavily marketed) and which was why we chose this property is usually inundated with screaming, splashing children. Here's a thought: What about designating one hour a day (9-10 am, perhaps) for ADULT ONLY use.
- 5/5
slightly snooty staff
- 3/5
Room was wonderful, had a fridge that actually worked compared to other stays. View was amazing! Pool area was kind of dirty because people would leave their dirty/wet towels behind. Staff was kind and helpful. Only wish they’re was a non valet option. Overall, stay was lovely and appreciate the accommodations.
- 4/5
The room was very clean and updated--and had a spectacular view. It was a great welcome to Chicago.

It was very good stay. Very friendly and helpful staff, and cosy newly furnished rooms
- 5/5
Awesome hotel to stay in. I love the views.

That said, there were two issues that ultimately impacted our experience. When we first arrived, we noticed hair in the shower. While this may not be a major concern for some, a clean room should also mean a clean bathroom, especially in a space meant for personal hygiene. We notified the front desk, and they were very accommodating — they offered to switch our room or send someone up to clean it. We opted to have housekeeping take care of it while we stepped out for the evening. Housekeeping did come to clean the shower, however the interaction afterward was disappointing. The staff member implied that there was no hair present and suggested the issue was simply staining from hair dye. While the shower itself did have some red staining, that was not the concern. There was visible hair on the floor, which was also documented in photos. We would have been perfectly satisfied with a simple apology and resolution, but the insinuation that we were being dishonest was frustrating and unnecessary. The only other downside was the snack bar. The booking information shows a well-stocked snack area, but during our entire stay it wa

Hotel was nice. The front desk was very helpful. Be sure to get a city view room. The views are amazing
- 2/5
No lobby, no breakfast/restaurant/bar available. Staff was curt. TV streaming did not work correctly. Room did not have bathtub and staff were unable/unwilling to find room that met expectations. Hot tub/pool area was not very clean and children loud
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Room could have been cleaner, but it was a nice place and had a nice view of the city
- 5/5
Room was clean. The red chicken curry (Leyia) was delicious.
- 1.5/5
Its pretty close to the aquarium The shower leaked and woke you up at night because the water would hit the metal seemingly at random. the bed felt like plastic and parking is almost as expensive as the room. There is free breakfast at this location but funny enough the Hilton Garden Inn wasn't welcome there since there are two hotels here.
- 5/5
Clean hotel, friendly staff, valet parking was nice and easy, great location
- 3/5
Very expensive incidental fee. It was very hard to get out of the parking garage is around.
- 5/5
Incredible, helpful front desk staff. Really enjoyed my stay!
- 5/5
We had a great stay there, the bed and the pillows were so comfy, and we enjoyed the pool area. The location is amazing, walking distance to so many attractions. We will definetly come back for summer time.
- 5/5
The room was perfect and me and my family really enjoyed the hot tub and pool

Great hotel
- 5/5
Clean room with great amenities. Close to public transport. Opposite a park that I thoroughly enjoyed walking through in the snow. Friendly staff. Water was hot, room had a great view. Literally no issues it was 10/10.
- 4/5
My stay was pretty good. At check in I was greeted by the staff without issue and given my keys. When I arrived at my room, housekeeping was there and shared that they just started on the room. Once they were done and I was able to settle in, I noticed that they heat stuffed to kick on. After cranking it up to 80, I was able to get the room comfortable. No other issues with the stay or the room. I love visiting Chicago.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Rooms were clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool was kinda crowded for most of the day.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
This will be our go to hotel for Bears games! Location is perfect! Walkable to Soldier Field, museum campus, & the train station. Property is so clean, comfortable, & check in was a breeze. No complaints!

Clean, stuff is friendly and Very convenient location, also good restaurants in the area.
- 5/5
Great.
- 4/5
The room was ready at check-in and clean. The bed was a bit uncomfortable with flimsy pillows. The valet was quick and efficient.
- 5/5
Hilton does not have free breakfast Homewood does
- 1/5
Room was fine but the front desk staff was very rude. No greeting just asked for my ID and credit card. Kept walking away and talking to another customer about coffee when he was not finished assisting me.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent, room and view was amazing and very clean. Restaurant onsite, pool, laundry and gym.
- 4/5
Breakfast is not included, but they do have coffee in the lobby. The hotel was very conveniently located and clean. Our room was right next to the elevator equipment room so it was not very quiet. We will stay there again, but will request a different room next time!
- 4/5
Clean room wasnt the view we booked but a great stay overall!
- 5/5
Staff was great hotel clean close to a lot of dining and stores
- 4/5
The location is excellent in downtown Chicago close to the train station and bus station. It also has multiple coffee shops and convenient stores near it. It also has a nice pool. The drawbacks include: they have 2 elevators but only one was used, so we waited for it a ling time everytime.
- 5/5
Staff was very accommodating when items were needed. Things seemed clean.
- 4/5
The room was nice, staff was friendly.
- 3/5
Our stay was just “okay.” The hotel was fairly quiet, which was nice. We could hear dogs barking here and there, but not enough to bother us. However, I checked in through the Hilton Honors app for our 4pm arrival and picked my room in the app. At arrival, I was told our room may not be ready for “up to an hour,” and there was no apology. A different room was ready for us around 4:45. No towels at the pool any of the 3 times we went down. This wasn’t a terrible experience, but I likely will not plan another stay here.
- 5/5
We enjoyed the location very much.
- 5/5
Amazing room and great atmosphere when I was in the hotel for my vacation!
- 5/5
Friendly Staff! Clean rooms!
- 4/5
Room was comfortable. Asked cleaning staff for something that I never received.

Not great but acceptable. They didn’t clean while we were out on the first night. Free bottle water though!!

- 5/5
The room was clean, view was beautiful! The staff were friendly, nice and helpful. Only downside was the sound of the ac/heating vent in our room, it was a little loud but not enough to deter us from staying there and in that room.
- 4/5
Only one elevator works.
- 5/5
Wonderful facility close to L train transit and the staff was excellent. The valet staff was super friendly and nice! Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Chicago!
- 4/5
Great room and amenities. Main issue was broken elevator so the one working took forever every time it was needed. Strange rattling from the air conditioner in my room and no late checkout option.
- 4/5
The staff was very helpful and ensured our stay was good. Only issue was our room was not cleaned once during our stay. Overall it was a good stay, but could’ve been better.
- 5/5
Everyone was so friendly and kind!
- 5/5
The front desk staff were great! Courteous and efficient.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the view was absolutely amazing. The young lady at the front desk was absolutely wonderful I was in town for a funeral and her friendly and caring attitude lifted my spirits after a horrible day of traveling. The Valet recommendation was the perfect solution for parking my rental vehicle. My stay was everything I needed in a stay
- 1/5
There wasn’t any staff was removed no valet parking , shower didn’t work , breakfast wasn’t available
- 5/5
The staff were all very helpful. Location was convenient for our stay and the view of the city from our room was amazing! The entire hotel was very clean also.
- 5/5
It was perfect. Thank you
- 3/5
thank you 😻😻 not impreas with the fitness center 😑
- 5/5
They’re very nice and very helpful. Nice 5 nights stay there
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Near all the sites to see!
- 4/5
Rooms were clean, environment felt safe and was definitely convenient for the plans we had. Restaurant inside was very good. I gab it a 4 star due to none of the garbage cans having bags in them for our garbage and no toilet paper stocked . But other wise a good stay
- 5/5
The room was clean. The staff was great and helpful.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful when I had questions about the area.
- 5/5
I loved the view of the room, looking out towards the lake. The property was clean and service was friendly. No breakfast buffet, even though it was noted via this app. A flyer upon arrival states no breakfast. The restroom door is a sliding (no lock) barn door, not my fave. Other than this, it was spacious and clean with a generous and functional closet!
- 4/5
No breakfast was included. The store was a bit lacking.
- 5/5
Great check in and responsive front desk staff. Housekeeping staff did a great job during our visit!
- 5/5
clean room, close to food places, walkable & best part was no loud noise
- 5/5
The room and view of the city was amazin. The staff were very helpful
- 5/5
The room and overall appearance of the hotel was very nice. The staff was helpful and it suited our needs.
- 5/5
AC was a tad loud but didn’t affect our sleep, the blankets didn’t fit both my husband and I. We ended having to buy another blanket for our night. Our room was very clean and the views were spectacular.
- 2/5
I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown South Loop from December 6th to 9th, 2025. Overall, the hotel met expectations in terms of price and performance; however, I cannot say the same about the conduct of certain staff members, particularly the front desk clerk(s). Unfortunately, I have never encountered such rude, impolite, and unprofessional behavior at a front desk. Upon my arrival at approximately 12:00 p.m., the clerk informed me that my room was not ready and that I would need to wait until 4:00 p.m. She added that if I did not wish to wait, I could obtain another room for an additional charge of 25 USD. I declined this offer, as I had already completed check-in through the Hilton mobile application. Approximately 30 minutes later, she stated that the room was still not ready and offered to change my room at no additional cost. As I was extremely tired, I accepted. Throughout these interactions, her manner of speaking was notably inappropriate; she addressed me in a directive and discourteous tone, using phrases such as “come here” without any courtesy or professionalism. This experience was highly disappointing. I do not intend to stay at this property again, nor will I recommend it to any acquaintances. Sincerely,
- 5/5
The staff was great and the room was clean. We did not purchase breakfast on site, but there were several great restaurants and bakeries nearby.

- 5/5
Loved my room the view was amazing
- 5/5
Clean and staff was courteous.
- 5/5
The staff were amazing during check in/check out and with the valet. I loved the corner room and the vibe and aesthetic of it. The location was great. It was easy to get around on foot and walkable to public transit.
- 5/5
Great staff with a great view of the city! Easy access to the L train to Wrigley Field. Will stay again!
- 2/5
The hotel was beautiful, and perfect for the our short stay. My only disappointment came at check in, I felt very rushed, and nothing was explained to me at all.. especially the $100 deposit on the room. Just had a $400+ charge on my card, when I booked though Expedia and it was $380.
- 5/5
We loved everything about the room. It was very clean, and very nicely decorated.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Clean room
- 3/5
The blanket on the bed was not warm enough for Chicago nights.
- 3/5
The room was in good condition but the staff seemed generally disinterested in helping you in general. They all need a customer service class. When they were taking to you they wouldn’t look up from their computer screen. Housekeeping kept forgetting to fill the soap dispensers for the shower and they have coin-up washers but don’t give out quarters. Not sure if I stay there again .
- 5/5
Friendly and clean
- 3/5
Had to park 6 blocks away because their ramp was full. Check in was a nightmare-the line was all the way to the far elevators. Room itself was fine, clean. Bed was comfy.
- 3/5
Room 2704 has water damage in bathroom and ceiling over shower has mold spots. We specifically asked NOT to be facing Wabach or the "L" and that's exactly where our room faced and was HORRIBLY noisy. Front desk staff was NOT helpful or courteous AT ALL. We did NOT feel welcome whatsoever during our stay. Homeless people were allowed to come in and get coffee and stunk up the entire lobby so much that we had to leave. Completely inappropriate for PAYING customers to have to share the premises and coffee bar with smelly, dirty, homeless drug addicts. It also made me feel unsafe. The only decent staff we encountered was Chelsea on Thanksgiving night who promptly brought a towel to our room after I had called 1.5 hours prior and no one brought a towel - called down again, Chelsea answered, walked the towel up to our room herself & was soooo kind and cheerful. There was also an Asian female, very petite young lady, at the front desk on Friday that was friendly. Everyone else was not welcoming and seemed put-out that we were even staying at Hilton Garden Inn. Very disappointed in our stay, unfortunately. We are coming back this summer 2026 and planned to stay here again but will have to find someplace else to stay, unfortunately.
- 5/5
Great service

The bed wasnt that comfortable. Woke up and my back was hurting both days. But the pillows amazing and the food. I dont like no free breakfast but it was better then i thought it would be.

- 5/5
Great experience warming hospitality
- 5/5
Overall, the room was nice and clean. Hotel is near a lot of restaurants, bars, and other stores.
- 4/5
Nice location near Roosvelt station. Great food for breakfast by Cina restaurant. Good room but bathroom not Hilton standard. About housekeeping very clean but they clean 1 day off and 1 day on. It was write in confirmation but not a good surprise if you are looking at Hilton. If you are traveling with a good friend or your easy brother okay but if you are with your new girlfriend or badly with your wife, you are getting trouble.
- 5/5
The check in & check out gentleman was superb! The dining was fantastic & we definitely got our money worth of delicious food. Thank you for all you offer at a great deal😊
- 5/5
Staff was courteous, room was clean, convenient location for us. Price was good as well.
- 5/5
Decent, limited food options… staff was a bit preoccupied but would recommend for Bears games or concerts at soldier field
- 5/5
Thanks to receptionists Joseph for being so kind and welcoming. Great sense of humor too!
- 1/5
On top of that, there was no complimentary breakfast offered, which was surprising considering the price of the stay. Overall, the experience was stressful and far from what I expected. I would not choose this hotel again unless they improve their guest support and clearly communicate parking options.
- 5/5
Parking is not the best but everything else is 5 stars
- 5/5
10/10 great views great location
- 4/5
clean room, and good location
- 5/5
Very clean and staff was friendly
- 5/5
Clean room, great location to go to football game within walking distance
- 5/5
Really nice hotel in a great location with wonderful staff!
- 4/5
I loved the hotel because of the beautiful views in our room and the area it was in but the only thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t clean the rooms everyday. They only change sheets and clean the room every other day which is a first for me . I never been to a hotel that does that but they’ll offer you to change your own linens if you like. Other than that , it’s the perfect hotel location and close to every popular attraction
- 3/5
limited television channels. No access to streaming channels as advertised.
- 4/5
Great view from room and great staff
- 5/5
Best stay, the rooms were so nice!
- 3/5
I was having a cocktail at the bar when I saw a cockroach walking on the floor. So I went to dinner elsewhere.
- 5/5
Great time with my family
- 4/5
Great
- 5/5
The room was fabulous: comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only annoyance was dropping the car off for the valet service, but the valet staff were friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Staff courteous friendly and helpful. The pool, outdoor space, and workout space are very nice, and great amenities. On the downside, there is a very little common/lobby seating and informal meeting space; and of what there is, there's little privacy and little buffering of the noisy coming and going of guests and staff. When I stayed here, the shared printer was not connected or functioning. Combined with the limited workspace in the rooms, and no availability of Junior suites, this is not a great hotel choice for business travelers.
- 4/5
Room was very clean and very spacious. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great view without breaking the bank.
- 5/5
No breakfast
- 5/5
Edgar and the entire front desk team, along with housekeeping, made the first part of my stay truly memorable. They were consistently professional, attentive, and genuinely customer-focused. As I mentioned—the first part—because their exceptional service inspired me to extend my stay for a few more days! Truly the best team ever. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Clean room, great hot tub.
- 3/5
Staff not too accommodating! I had to go back and ask for the water that is given to Hilton honors and he seems hesitant to give me the water.
- 5/5
Room was clean and small. Just what we needed.
- 4/5
The parking situation - even with the great valets - was awful. I ended up pulling my car into an alley across the way, unloading, packing everything onto my assistive device, jaywalked thru traffic to get to the hotel. And you need a much better sign. We went around the block twice and didn’t see the sign because when you are sitting in a vehicle, it is blocked by cars next to you.
- 4/5
This Hilton Garden is in a good location
- 5/5
Recommend to my Family, Friends, and Fans.

Very friendly staff. Hotel was kept well. Lots of things to do in the area.

Amazing customer service, location, and valet service. Clean and spacious room and I will definitely be staying here again!
- 5/5
Very clean
- 4/5
Great location for our visit. Helpful staff.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely helpful. My girlfriend booked one night originally. I added two additional nights two weeks later. Front staff was able to coordinate the two when we arrived, so we wouldn't have to pack and move to a different room between room bookings. Thank you so much!
- 4/5
Valet parking only and the hotel ran out of spaces. Had to park a block away.
- 4/5
Came for a Bears game. I asked for a room that had no pets stay in it. They said they had to deep clean our room because pets stayed in all the rooms. All rooms should get a deep cleaned and shouldn’t there just be rooms where only pets stay. Other than that it was good.
- 5/5
The room was super spacious. The staff was wonderful with keeping our bags safe and easily checking in. Would 100% go back to Chicago and stay at the Hilton Garden Inn.
- 5/5
Very nice room, valet parking was busy but efficient, walkable to may establishments, great for access to south loop activities
- 4/5
It was okay. The room was spacious and cute, but the bathroom smells. The floor hallway also smelled bad and the noise... you could hear everything, maybe because our room was next to the elevator, and close to the train. It was an affordable option, so if you're okay with some noise and just need like two nights, go for it!
- 4/5
My husband and I recently stayed here for a couple of nights on a getaway trip and for a concert. We enjoyed the room and the staff were very helpful! We had never been to Chicago before so they were wonderful at helping us. The only complaint we had was that the valet fee to park was $70 per night and there weren’t really any other parking options, so be prepared for that. But we enjoyed our stay overall!
- 5/5
Clean room, easy check in.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
- 4/5
This hotel was great - beautiful city views! The customer service was pretty poor - they only clean rooms every other day and leave water in the rooms that you need to pay for unless you have a certain status. The staff at the front desk also were pretty resistant to helping with anything - anytime I asked a basic question they didn’t know and brushed me off. They dont do late checkout requests until the morning of checkout, which is stressful. The morning of my checkout, I was then told they don’t do late checkouts at all, which is untrue, and I eventually was able to check out late.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel in a wonderful location of Chicago!
- 5/5
Nice facility. Very convenient. The restaurant on site had an amazing breakfast.

- 5/5
Convenient location to Grant Park.
- 5/5
It was a good stsy, breakfast was not included but available. Easy walk to most thing. Night time view of the city!
- 5/5
good value for the location
- 4/5
The views were amazing!!!!!! While the staff was nice and the rooms were clean, there were multiple elevator issues which lead to traffic jams when entering and exiting
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
besides the strong cleaning solution smell in the lobby, the hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet, and in a great spot to get you around.
- 4/5
We had a corner room it was nice, and the view was amazing! You could hear the train sometimes, but not a deal breaker. We would definitely book the room again. We enjoyed happy hour at the restaurant downstairs. Overall we had a great stay.
- 3/5
Hotel was just okay. Not the cleanest and things were in need of repair such as broken and loud ice machine and loud hvac unit.
- 5/5
Convenient location. Public transportation is very close or you can walk to a lot of locations. Staff was very friendly and super helpful. Joseph was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The room was nice and clean with amazing view of downtown, 10/10. The have a restaurant onsite that serves delicious food and has friendly staff, 9/10. Hotel staff were friendly as well, 8/10.
- 4/5
Our view was incredible - we could see most of the city to the north, the museum campus, and a bit of Navy Pier. There were no vending machines and the "store" they had in the lobby was completely emptied with the exception of a handful of what appeared to be sparkling water. I had to go to the gas station down the block for drinks and snacks.
- 5/5
Very professional and clean property
- 5/5
Great Service and Excellent Location!!
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
The room had a great view of the city
- 5/5
Great hotel! Staff was very accommodating. Walked to dinner and great view
- 4/5
Just an okay hotel. Not very clean and ice machine was broken and was making loud noises during our stay. Hotel strongly recommend valet parking because lots across the street had car’s broken into
- 5/5
Clean room, good price, great location. What more do you need?
- 5/5
Hotel staff was excellent. Rooms were not ready when we arrived but they held our bags in secure storage while we went to dinner. Rooms were very clean, AC worked great, and the staff was super kind.
- 5/5
Great view in the corner king. Convenient and easy valet.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay.
- 5/5
Walkable and convenient. Good Location
- 5/5
As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe staying here and walking around at night. Staff were always very kind and helpful. Very convenient location to do everything I wanted. I’d definitely recommend and would happily stay here again on my next visit.
- 5/5
Everything was good
- 2/5
I found a sock that didn’t belong to me or my daughter. I found a hair on the bathroom sink counter and in the shower. Thankful we had Lysol wipes with us. I called the front desk for fresh towels because housekeeping cleans every other day. My daughter had to go to the desk at 11pm to get them.
- 5/5
Convenient
- 5/5
At check-in, we were warmly welcomed by Edgar, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly set the tone for our stay. The housekeeping staff were equally amazing three wonderful team members who kept our suite spotless and made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. Their friendliness and pride in their work made a big difference in our experience. Between the stunning lake views, the comfortable suite, and the exceptional staff, this hotel made our getaway unforgettable. We are so grateful for the hospitality and will definitely return. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Very clean very quiet very comfortable
- 4/5
I did not really spend time at the hotel. It was a stay over to see family and friends and only used it for a place to sleep.
- 4/5
Décent place
- 5/5
Great staff and service! Location was very convenient
- 5/5
Good area to walk around
- 1/5
not very clean and the lobby smells disgusting - my shower was full of hair and the bed and pillows are horribly uncomfortable - chrome cast does not work and room incredibly dark - elevator really slow and the Thai restaurant attached to hotel is not very good
- 5/5
Thus happen the week prior in California too.
- 5/5
Family friendly and pool area was great. Conveniently located within walking distance to shopping, events and restaurants.
- 4/5
Good location
- 5/5
The property was very nice and convenient. It’s A 10 minute walk to the magnificent mile. One of the main attractions the Bean. Staff was super nice and welcoming.
- 5/5
It was fantastic.
- 2/5
The room wasn’t ready on time
- 4/5
The corner room was beautiful. Only thing is we didn’t get breakfast but Expedia said it was included
- 5/5
Great spot for checking out the city.
- 3/5
The rooms were clean and the staff were very nice. We wanted to park our vehicle in the hotels valet, but they said they had no one
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Clean room. Good staff.
- 5/5
The views were spectacular
- 5/5
Very dirty neighborhood
- 4/5
The room had a few cosmetic imperfections and there were crumbs on the floor. Overall a good stay
- 3/5
Overall the location of the hotel to soldier field and area museums is great. Having a microwave and fridge in the room is also nice. The bathroom is spacious. However, the hotel could use some updating as there was black build up in the shower and you could tell the beds have seen better days in terms of comfort. We checked in online and still had to check in at the desk, other guests had the same issue as well. Overall, the hotel is fine.
- 5/5
Nice room, friendly staff, and a short walk from the waterfront parks. Lots of nice restaurants. We especially liked Yolk for breakfast. Twenty minute walk to Institute of Art. An incredible must-see museum.
- 5/5
Very convenient to restaurants. STAFF was excellent..
- 5/5
The room, location and personal were good. Easy to access attractions & restaurants. Any hiccups wete quickly addressed.
- 2/5
The rooms are a little run down. Our keys were not working for the elevator, we had to get them reset several times as a result we got stuck on the top floor (30th) figured we’d walk down 6 flight of stairs to our floor (24th) turns out the stairwell doors only open from the outside so we were forced to walk down 30 flights of stairs to get to the lobby. Ridiculous as hell. Maintenance man told me it’s a Hilton standard.
- 4/5
The door lock system was down so we couldn’t have an access card. Luckily we just needed to sleep and then leave
- 3/5
Children very bad, very bad. Pool is yellow with the stink of their unwashed manner
- 5/5
Superb location, easy Orange Line ride from Midway, close to everything. Friendly and responsive staff. Spacious and clean room. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great value, close to everything we wanted to see: the Art Institute, Buddy Guy's Legends, Millennium Park, Reckless Records. We didn't need a taxi at all--Orange Line from Midway Airport stopped a block away at Roosevelt. Lots of great food and impressive skyline views. The hotel staff was friendly and responsive. The room was clean and spacious with tremendous city views. Would definitely stay here again! The only *small* downside was a long line at check-in time, but otherwise a fine experience.
- 1/5
I’m very disappointed with this hotel. The bathroom door did not move properly, and it was very hard to open and close. The coffee machine did not work and could not make hot water. The pillow sheet had blood on it and wasn’t clean, and the bed sheet was also dirty with a bad smell. The whole room had a heavy, unpleasant odor. I feel like I completely wasted my money and vacation by staying here.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice, the coffee was delish. My mobile key didnt work ever during my stay and the key cards we got only worked 1 day. More of an inconvenience, but I'd stay again bc both issues were technology and not a reflection of the hotel or staff. It's in a perfect location to walk everywhere!
- 4/5
We had a very nice stay. The attached restaurant had great appetizers and beer on tap. A little bit of a wait to check in, but I think they were training employees.
- 5/5
Overall the property was great, accommodating, nice staff, and convenient restaurant adjacent to it. I only wish their snack/drink/convenience area was stocked, maybe they had a delay in their shipment but I was there for almost a full week and it was pretty empty. Other than that great place and location!
- 3/5
Would stay again. Loved the location.
- 3/5
Constant issues with my stay from key card not working to clogged/broken sink
- 1/5
First off, the smells from the Asian restaurant connected are awful. Straight fish all day and night. Then the lobby tries to cover it up with an even worse smell! The one elevator barely works and your ears pop when you go down. They let kids over populate the hot tub I spent hundreds and dollars and never even got to use it! I asked to get my room cleaned and they said no. Capacity for the pool room said 25 and it was like 40 people in there. Outside I was smoking and someone was threatening to shoot another pedestrian ‼️ just awful. Chicago is Chicago.
- 5/5
It is very quiet place and people working in front desk help a lot. I feel safe.

I would definitely stay here again.

Deadbolt in room didn't work, Air conditioning sounded like water was leaking and was loud. Shower was scolding hot, we could not regulate the water temp. I was marketed complementary breakfast and when we checked in they gave us a sheet of paper that said it wasn't going to be offered during our stay. Only plus, walking distance to the Shedd but this would be a hard pass if we visited again.

Check in was easy and it felt very safe. Room was clean and was good sized for a Chicago hotel.

Okay Hilton, weird room setup but good location near Columbia College. Comfy bed, nice bathroom. Pretty loud so wore earplugs at night.

A comfortable but pricy hotel in downtown Chicago.

The valets were very nice and helpful to accommodate a large passenger van. The $70 daily fee is rather steep. The rooms were fine but no service was offered on the third day as advertised. Therefore trash was not emptied, no fresh towels, etc. I think that we should have received a refund as it is a service promised. They also added $3.00 for a bottle of water not used. Since there was no room service it seemed rather random. They refunded when asked. The location was good. There was a restaurant on site but we didn’t go to it. The elevator was fast.

There wasn't a glass base in microwave so couldn't use it,the frig froze all our food, no one ever answered the front desk when you called,it stated free parking once there it was valet parking only with a $79 fee per nite, could get towels replaced or garbage. It stated coffee light breakfast provided wasnt anything offered at all. Treated us like we were below their standards. I've stayed at many HILTON'S this was the worst I've ever stayed at.When telling them at checkout they really didn't care what I had to say, very unsatisfied would never stay at one again.

The location was good

The location is great, walkable to sights and dining. Great views if facing lake side, property well-staffed and felt very safe, front desk and other staff excellent. The only downside is I didn't feel the beds were as clean as they could be - I switched rooms after initial room given due to liquid stain extending from bed sheet to bed skirt (meaning the bed sheet had not been changed); second room seemed to have new sheets but bed skirt was not clean. This made me anxious about the level of cleaning performed between room occupancies. I'd probably stay again but bring disposal bed linen.

Conveniently located near Michigan Ave, Grant Park, Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago and restaurants. No self parking and parking is expensive but comparable to other hotels in the area. Housekeeping only comes every other day and when they did come, they did not refill conditioner. Minor but annoying especially since they come every other day. Staff were very nice and the valet were surprisingly helpful giving advice on getting around town.

overall everything was good.

It was very quiet and super clean.

Nice and clean, and staff was great! Only issue we had was that when we checked in, we were told that if you extended your check out till 12, it was complimentary. Even the night before we asked just in case and they told us to call around 8-9 to extend it and we would be fine. We drove in and were having car issues so we called early the morning of check out and asked for it to be extended while we figured it out. Though when we called, they said they weren’t doing late check-outs that day. Thankfully, they accepted our request, so no harm no foul. Just thought it was odd that 2/3 people we talked to said nothing about it possibly not being an option. Other than that, everything was perfect!

Location, staff friendliness, cleanliness

The property was really smelly. Staff was not supportive at all. There were moods in the restroom
- 3/5
Hotel was clean, but there was not any air conditioning on in any of the hall ways or lobby. Room was clean and nice. Shower dripped on the metal drain every 5 minutes and it echoed thru the room. 2nd night I have to put a wash cloth under it and close the door. AC was off in the room when I first got there and it was 80 degrees. I turned it in and it cooled off after a few hours. The next days. I left for the all day. When I came back the AC was shut off again and it was back to 80 degrees. It made for a rough night as it took a few hours to even cool off.

it was a cool experience, would definitely come back

Perfect for a 2 night stay, reasonable rate at a great location.

Everything was going well until my second night when I tried to get extra pillows and the front desk didn’t know where to get them or she just didn’t feel like it. Other than that my stay was good.

On a positive note, being so close to the lake was wonderful and the area is beautiful!
