Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location, cleanliness, and friendly staff, particularly Robyn from the front desk. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the breakfast service and the valet parking. The historic nature of the building also presents some challenges, such as small elevators and a lobby on a different floor.
- Excellent location
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Breakfast service could be improved
- Valet parking is expensive and slow

The staff was incredibly helpful especially Robyn at the front desk. The location was great for our visits to The Art Institute and Grant park. We had issues with our toilet flushing. Maintenance came promptly on our first call but the second time we were informed that no one was available until noon to help us which isn't really convenient when your toilet is clogged at 8am.

Room was very clean. The bed, sheets and pillows were fantastic! Water pressure was great. Breakfast was pretty good. Very close to airport trains, car rentals and the art museum. Could walk to our river cruise. Also fairly close to Al’s beef!

The stay was ok. I was hoping for cleaner hotel with more amenities. It was a little scary coming in at night. Nobody greeting, had to wait for someone to come down. Which made me feel uncomfortable. The desk staff at check in was not very helpful and the lock on my door was broken. So it was ok, but would not recommend.
- 4/5
We had a great stay. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Our room checking in was slightly delayed but it was fine. We did find that the beds were really soft and dipped down a bit and the one sheet curtain wouldn’t open. Could use a few upgrades but overall a pleasant stay.
- 4.5/5
The staff was sweet and helpful. We did not eat the breakfast once while there. THe location was very weird, there are not clear instructions on how to get to the lobby floor, the security guard when you walk in was not very helpful. I had to figure it out alone.

Pros: The location was good - close to transportation and Millennium Park. No noise between rooms! Breakfast available. Very secure - key card needed to go to room floors. Cons: It's a historical building so the windows aren't soundproof and the floors aren't level under the carpeting. The rooms could have been maintained better - bathroom door had water damage, clock was missing and some outlets were loose so that it was difficult to keep my computer charging. Also the room was very dim - additional lighting would be welcome. I also didn't love the bed because there was no mattress topper and it was very firm. Breakfast was not great but nice to be able to grab something to hold me over.

I loved the location of this hotel and the fact that there is a theatre in the same building. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was okay - had a lot of variety. I always have difficulty finding gluten-free foods so that would be an extra bonus. I hope to stay there again.

I stayed here with a friend for a race, called ahead to ensure we would actually get the two queen room we booked, and despite the extra effort we STILL ended up in a slightly dirty one king room. Overpriced, would not recommend.

Comfortable stay convenient to many attractions in Chicago in a charming historic building. Staff were friendly and helpful. The owner/manager was on site and was clearly interested in making the guest experience a good one. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Would definitely choose this hotel again. No complaints.

Great location, good breakfast, friendly staff, check-in was until midnight
- 4.5/5
I liked that the hotel has cruelty-free products, the breakfast every day was delicious and the staff was always very kind and friendly, the room was always clean and warm. They have the option of a water dispenser. We arrived at midnight too tired, It was raining and too cold. I asked about if there was any additional cost to take the hot water she said yes, so we decided not to take it; and the next day another girl told us the hot water was complementary and we shouldn't pay any additional cost.
- 5/5
Robyn, at the reception desk was delightful. Friendly, knowledgeable and vey helpful. She is a role model for the type of professionalism, courtesy, and service attitude that brings excellence to the hotel stay. The building is historic but well maintained and charming. We look forward to staying at the Hampton Majestic again.

Loved the location, close to train station ( but not walkable for me as an older person.) Close by is a Target and some shopping, a few restaurants and next door was the Majestic Theatre where I saw a production. So wonderful to walk next door and back. The room was standard nice. A very comfortable bed, linens, towels. I'm so glad I stayed here and would come again. I liked the meeting/checkin/lounge area. Nice to have coffee, tea and breakfast. If you stay here go to the Italian Village just a few blocks. Amazing food, very special. The area around the hotel seemed safe. I walked in the evening by myself without any worries.

Good hotel with access to the theater.

Convenience of having the theater next door. I wanted a place with valet parking. The websites states they have valet parking. I also received an email that stated valet parking was available. When we arrived, we were told there has not been valet parking for a long time. The person behind the desk did help us find a parking area close by. I thought the breakfast was a perfect variety and very good.

Extremely friendly staff!

The Breakfast the one morning, the scrambled eggs were "off" in that they were not the same make up as I had come to expect. It was as if you changed suppliers, and that these eggs were not as 'tasty' and 'fulfilling' as at previous stays.
- 5/5
Excellent location for an evening show, and walking the city in general. Nice rooms. Good for families.
- 5/5
Not fancy, but clean and quiet and comfortable. Very convenient to everything we needed. Breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here again
- 4/5
clean room, nice staff
- 5/5
Great for seeing Hamilton
- 4/5
Breakfast was fresh and the staff was very nice
- 5/5
Lovely place to stay and so convenient for seeing a show. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly!
- 5/5
This location was perfect for our trip! We only had to walk a few steps to get to the theater next door. Breakfast was good, hotel was clean and every employee we saw was friendly and smiling. It was easy to walk to the many places we wanted to see, even the magnificent mile. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Standard, very nice Hampton Inn breakfast. Can't complain, but they only had light roast and decaf coffee. Very attentive staff and management. They were very quick to a small issue with the room. And they checked back later to make sure everything was right.
- 5/5
Location for theater district was excellent with short walks to subway & bus stops. Lobby desk staff was friendly. Early check was available for a small fee, luggage storage was also conveniently available. Hotel is located in same building as CIBC Theater, therefore the lobby is actually on the 4th floor and front entrance to hotel is a small elevator vestibule at the ground level. Building is older but everything was clean and up to date. Clogged toilet situation was handled very promptly by engineering.
- 5/5
The Manager was exceptional! He greeted everyone and was very helpful. He looked very sharp and professional in his suits. He treated his staff with respect. Best Manager that I’ve ever seen! The lady that cleaned our room was very friendly and nice as were the front desk staff. I would definitely stay here again! Great location just a ten minute or less walk to the train or the Chicago Bean. The Ubers were less than $10 for the four Ubers that I took. So a great location!
- 5/5
Clean updated rooms, friendly staff, hearty free breakfast, perfect for theatre patrons
- 4/5
Breakfast offerings were fair. Warm options were a nice addition.
- 5/5
Breakfast good. But what made this stay stand out was the staff -beyond expectations. From Tonya the manager who checked us in, the housekeeper who gave extra towels, the breakfast staff was amazing and friendly. This is a historic building but the room was up to date, clean. Great location above the theater
- 5/5
Everyone tries really hard to give a great experience In sometimes tight conditions.
- 3/5
We saw a show at the CIBC theater so the location was so convenient! The beds were hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. Not much around in walking distance to grab a quick meal.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly
- 5/5
Exceptional service, beautiful rooms and stellar breakfast!
- 5/5
Breakfast was simple, but everything you would expect, not disappointed, would recommend overall experience
- 4/5
This is a fine hotel, but one thing bothered me a lot. Which was the parking? The hotel has no parking, and I had to get out of my car and go to a small sheet of paper on the front. Door to get referrals for parking. And then the main referral was a to a parking garage that was over sixty five dollars a day.The facility could have worn us in an email in advance
- 2/5
Advertised valet parking, but there was no valet parking. Wasted 20 minutes driving around in circles due to this. Almost missed dinner reservations after finally parking in a nearby garage. Television didn’t work.
- 5/5
Such a cool place to stay! The room was completely updated, the beds were comfortable, the room was spacious and immaculate! The ONLY thing that I would hope to see improvement on is the breakfast area, it’s a very tight area. BUT we still ate and it was a plus to have it offered!
- 5/5
The hotel was conveniently located next door to CIBC Theatre. It was amazing walking right next door for our show! Walking distance to many stores and restaurants! The room was clean, every staff member I came into contact with was very pleasant. Air conditioning works amazingly and kept us comfortable at night. They allow you to store your bags at the front desk after check in incase you want to explore the city some more. The only issue I had was with the shower. The shower drained VERY slow. I was also unable to adjust the shower head. The water pressure was very high and the shower head pointed directly at the opposite wall. This caused water to leak outside of the tub. I didn't bring this up because we stayed for one night.
- 5/5
Clean room and restaurant nearby.
- 5/5
Location couldn’t be better to watch a show at the adjacent theater. Room rates were affordable and it comes with continental breakfast. We’ll stay here again.
- 5/5
Great place close to the theater.
- 5/5
The staff, all staff, were extremely friendly, accommodating , and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Once the construction is done, it will be even better. Definitely ata there again. Great location!
- 4/5
Good size room for chicago... good location.. friendly staff..
- 3.5/5
When we called about our TV issue, the engineer came right up and helped. He was very kind and courteous. The front desk clerk was not friendly. Acted as if we were bothering her when asking questions. Did not go out of her way to help. The valet parking was not available. The entrance was right by the theatre entrance and it wasnt quite clear where to go. There wasnt anyone to greet us, though there was a deskstand and chair. There were bins of towels standing on racks. It was very confusing. We found the elevators, and found our way up to the lobby. Just not user-friendly.
- 5/5
Good location, friendly and helpful staff. Should provide shower cap and shaving kits
- 5/5
Central to a lot of things. Clean rooms, friendly staff and an overall great stay. Very good breakfast.
- 2.5/5
The parking was terrible in very expensive when you arrive you really dont know where to go the hotel looks to be connected to the theater it's not directions on how to get to the lobby or parking the parking is a block away each day you paying 65 dollars
- 4.5/5
Location, cleanliness Nothings
- 5/5
The room was comfortable and clean and actually we’ve stayed in this exact room on our last trip and we’re happy to get it again. The staff here is exceptional. Always professional, eager to please and professional in how they treat their guests and each other. We’d like to give a special shout out to Robyn who was the young woman we saw most often during our four day stay. She is an asset to the Hampton Inn Majestic Theater location.
- 5/5
Hot breakfast, with other options, yogurt, fruit, waffles. Room was clean, bed soft, extra pillows. No on-site parking - closest is 2 blocks away and was $65 for overnight, property does not validate.
- 5/5
My teenage daughter and I stayed overnight when we came to see Hamilton at the CIBC Theater. Having a hotel in the same building was convenient and the hotel is walking distance from the train station, Millenium Park and the Riverwalk. Nice hotel, wonderful staff.
- 4/5
Elevator are small and slow.
- 4.5/5
Slow elevator
- 5/5
Very walkable to the place we need to go.
- 5/5
We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel was well maintained and our room was comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was prepared fresh each morning. We were so impressed with this property that we will surely return. I'll add that we were in town to see "Hamilton" at the CIBC. If you are a guest you may enter the theater from the hotel! Mike, at the front desk and Brisa, our room attendant, were excellent. If you are in reasonable shape you can walk to all of the attractipns from the hotel.DW/SW
- 5/5
Great location.
- 3/5
Hotel was clean. Staff was very friendly. Everything was the way I would expect it to be trying to contact the hotel after doing a third-party confirmation was almost impossible. Tried to call the hotel to let them know. He wasn’t gonna be there till after midnight and couldn’t get a hold of anybody. Everybody wanted to give me the runaround finally, the last place was able to connect me to the property, everything was good after that I recommend making sure you can get in contact with the hotel.
- 5/5
Outstanding location right near all the places we wanted to visit! Staff were fantastic.
- 5/5
Great staff, superb breakfast, excellent in all ways!!!
- 4/5
For an older hotel in the heart of the city, this hotel was well maintained, and relatively quiet.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean, and the breakfast was awesome.
- 5/5
Great location for sightseeing. Easy to get to from Midway or OHare with the Monroe train stop right outside the door. 2 blocks to Millennium Park. Friendly and helpful customer service: thank you to Robyn who assisted us with an early check in. Building and rooms are older but clean and comfortable, plus an older building is part of the charm of staying downtown. Lots of shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance.
- 5/5
Great location, staff were kind and helpful, liked that they stored our bags, and it was surprisingly quiet.
- 5/5
👍
- 3.5/5
I liked the staff a lot, they were very kind and helpful. The breakfast food was good as well. I came to the hotel around 8 pm and couldn't get in. I had someone who was staying there let me in.
- 1/5
Parking service changed with NO notice. They no longer have valet parking or any parking available. I booked a hotel with parking available. I had no desire to stay in Chicago with a car and no available parking with a daughter temporarily disabled. When a service is removed, the customer should be notified to make another choice.
- 4/5
Yes the room was very clean, spacious. I enjoyed having a hot breakfast during my stay.
- 5/5
Room, staff
- 5/5
Clean room, Great location, Rich breakfast
- 5/5
Outstanding downtown hotel in Chicago. My girlfriend and I stayed for 5 nights and found it perfect to our needs. Cleanly, great staff, and excellent free breakfast. It’s close to theatres, restaurants, and the best museums in town. We felt safe the entire time, and ideally located.
- 5/5
Very well managed hotel, excellent staff, great breakfast, great location!
- 5/5
I was upgraded to King size room, it’s very spacious and comfortable.
- 5/5
Staff were very helpful and courteous!! Room was clean and comfortable!! Will definitely stay here again!!
- 5/5
It’s so close to the Monroe blue line station, which was super convenient getting to and from the airport. We loved walking over to Millenium Park and it was really convenient to have a target around the corner.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room and quiet hotel with nice bars and restaurants near the hotel! I’d highly recommend
- 3/5
Room was clean and staff was very nice
- 3/5
Location is a good location to walk to theatres and restaurants. Room was very spacious, clean and well stocked. Breakfast had more options than we expected. Staff was so friendly. Yet check in pretty awful in that it was very crowded with only one person working the desk - over an hour in line. Most of us were revising pre theatre dinner plans knowing we would miss reservations. It is probably not always/usually this busy but check in for a Saturday night right before dinner/show window seems like a predictable time to need to staff up, especially if bookings are strong!
- 5/5
Great stay. Great staff.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
The rooms and common areas were very clean, spacious, and inviting. The real standout is the genuinely friendly and welcoming nature of every employee at the Majestic. From the folks at the front desk, the people making breakfast, and the staff replenishing towels, everyone had a smile on their face and were a joy to chat with in passing. We will definitely be booking here again. Thanks for a fabulous stay!
- 5/5
Everything was spot on.
- 5/5
Great spot in Chicago! We had a wonderful stay, staff were very accomodating!
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Wonderful stay!!
- 5/5
Clean room. Great location.
- 2/5
The staff were nice and accommodating and the location are the only selling points. The room had zero noise insulation and you could hear everything from the street 10+ floors down. The beds are also rock hard and squeaky any time you move on them. The breakfast food also wasn't any good.
- 5/5
Staff were all super friendly, even in really busy, stressful moments.
- 5/5
Great location, good breakfast, attentive staff
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, breakfast was delicious and location was great!
- 5/5
Clean. Quiet. Great location
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Would totally stay again
- 5/5
Perfect!
- 5/5
Nice staff and the room was clean.
- 4/5
Everything was great but Robin at front desk was exceptional
- 4/5
All good.. i have just 2 comments: the breakfast area is too small, no space at all. And the elevators take too long during the breakfast time... like 20minutes waiting. All the rest is perfect!
- 5/5
The staff was superb, especially Robyn! The girls at breakfast sung happy birthday to my daughter. We definitely will be back. So welcoming. Clean & safe! Love this hotel. Thanks for having us!!
- 5/5
The staff at the Hampton Inn Majestic is so friendly and kind. They are great at answering questions and providing guidance and assistance when needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The building decor is nostalgic. The location is prime for tourist options but also in the heart of local commuting, stores, buses and trains. Breakfast provided many options no matter what you were in the mood food and dietary restrictions.
- 4/5
Nice room, great breakfast, hot drinks available always and Robin at the front desk was so nice and helpful
- 5/5
You do have to rely on the elevators a lot, and they can barely handle the traffic during peak times. And if one goes out, good luck with that. I'm not really sure what the hotel could do about that though. You're kind of limited in that respect.
- 5/5
Awesome!
- 2/5
Only had 2 working elevators during our stay that hold 5 adults maximum. So going down from 7-9am was very inconvenient as by the time the elevators arrived on our floor, it was already full. Will opt to staying at another hotel the next time we need to stay in Downtown Chicago.
- 4/5
Staff was amazing! Robyn was super helpful and nice! Our room was clean. The breakfast could be better.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly at checkin/out. Very fast to respond with the rollaway bed, extra linens, and extra half & half at breakfast. The waffles smelled amazing but with only 2 waffle makers and a full house I didn't wait in line. Entire area of property that we utilized was clean. This location is so close to walk to everything, it made our Chicago trip pleasant.
- 5/5
Friendly staff & free breakfast
- 5/5
Rooms were very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was also very good
- 5/5
Comfortable room, lovely tall windows. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Great location! My only suggestions: please provide actual half & half instead of highly-processed fake creamer and please provide recycling opportunities for guests.
- 5/5
Nice clean room, good breakfast - all went smoothly; particularly nice folks at reception - very friendly!
- 4/5
The front desk service was professional, friendly and excellent overall.
- 5/5
The room was incredibly clean. The staff were kind & very helpful. The location was precisely what we were looking for being closely located to CTA blue and red lines. Would absolutely stay here again.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the valet was great about helping us with everything, including hailing us a taxi and cleaning out the empty pop bottles that were on the floor in the front seat of my car!!!
- 5/5
Lovely place, quiet and very comfortable. The staff was excellent and the breakfast offered great options. Wonderful value, we will return.
- 5/5
Good breakfast,and very friendly staff
- 5/5
Room was very nice - clean and modern feel. Staf was very attentive and helpful and the free hot breakfast - while not really extraordinary - was nice to have. Would have like a bit more fresh fruit but there was plent other breakfast staples to select.
- 5/5
Robyn at the front desk is AMAZING- see her if you need any help or recommendations!!
- 5/5
It was so pleasant. Very clean. Quiet rooms. Great location in the city.
- 5/5
great location nice staff
- 5/5
A lovely place to stay. Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, child friendly (they have and provided a crib/pack and play but no high chair in breakfast area). Close to everything downtown.
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Walkable to Cadillac Palace Theater and several restaurants. Unfortunately, they don't have their own parking lot/garage.
- 5/5
Room was delightful…clean, nicely appointed
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms, the most friendly staff and general manager. Loved starting each day with other guests and staff at breakfast.
- 5/5
Absolutely ideal location in the heart of the Theater district, free breakfast, and comfortable beds at a great price
- 5/5
Great location. Clean property and rooms, the breakfast buffet has everything you need. Warren and Michael at the desk were very helpful. The staff is always there to help if you need anything
- 5/5
excellent location
- 5/5
The location was great and the staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
Very kind attention from all the staff.
- 5/5
GOOD
- 5/5
I stayed at this Hampton Inn a few years ago and enjoyed my stay. I stayed again last week for a couple of nights to go see The Phantom of the Opera at the Cadillac Palace theater (a 10 minute walk from the hotel) and Six at the CIBC Theater which is next door to the hotel. My room was of typical size for a downtown Chicago hotel. My king size bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The water pressure in the shower was good. This isn’t the Ritz but it doesn’t need to be. It was a place to store my things, sleep and bathe before and between running around the city. Breakfast offerings were varied, both hot and cold items along with juice, coffee and baked goods. I will stay here again.
- 4/5
The room was clean.
- 5/5
Breakfast was better than expected!! Thank you!!
- 4/5
The rooms were clean and comfortable, the location to the theater district was perfect. Edmond the valet was exceptional!! Very friendly and helpful!!
- 4/5
Our stay was wonderful. The only complaint I have is not knowing how to do the valet parking. There was zero signage that I could see. Although the valet gentleman was amazing, it was a complete unknown on how to navigate the valet parking.
- 5/5
Staff was polite and helpful
- 5/5
The room was clean, staff wonderful and breakfast great and a plus. Will stay again.
- 3/5
Staff was amazing. Room was small with the view of the alley but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was awful. Prese
- 5/5
Check-in person was wonderful, very friendly, nice and personable!
- 4/5
Room was clean. Loved the feel of the old Chicago Building! Breakfast was your typical on the go type hotel breakfast. Elevators can be slow at busy times. Valet parkimg was easy to use
- 5/5
Warren at the front desk was very kind and helpful! He gave us many suggestions of things to do while in chicago and took pictures of us and with us!
- 4/5
We had a nice and quiet stay.

They were very nice . Breakfast was really nice and tasty . Robin was also very attentive and kind. I liked the experience.
- 5/5
Traffic noise (which is to be expected) and someone was vacuuming on Friday night around midnight
- 5/5
Great stay! Friendly staff and great location to downtown. Everything we needed was walking distance.
- 5/5
We were in town for two nights, and The Hampton Inn was the absolute perfect place for our family of four. Breakfast was great, room was clean, and location was close to everything we wanted! I highly recommend this hotel!
- 5/5
Excellent location, hotel staff were friendly. Great service!
- 5/5
Staff was awesome - friendly, responsive and helpful
- 5/5
Really great breakfast options. Not just a muffin and coffee. Mini omelettes, sausage, potatoes, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, juices, coffee, make your own waffle, breads, scones, muffins!
- 5/5
Friendly staff clean room
- 5/5
Located in a very clean, well-lit, safe feeling area. Clean rooms, great service and staff, and a great breakfast to start the day. Located by many food options, a 9min walk to The Bean and 12 min walk to Willis Tower.
- 5/5
This hotel was located in a perfect spot. The hotel itself was beautiful. The service was great. The breakfast wasn’t amazing but it’s also a hotel breakfast so I didn’t expect much.
- 5/5
Adequate
- 5/5
Quiet and clean. Good breakfast as well.
- 5/5
Our room was quite spacious and comfortable. Only a few rooms on each floor and it was SOOO quiet!!! We stayed two nights and I had the best night sleep I have had in forever. Good location. We were able to walk to Soldier Field comfortably. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Yes. We had a great stay.
- 4/5
Had a nice stay, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with good variety of foods.
- 5/5
Everything was great. Great Hotel and Staff. Great location easy access to everything.
- 5/5
Great location. Quiet comfortable rooms. Free breakfast is typical fare… fine to fuel up and head out. Close to the park and the art museum. Lobby and first floor are funct- not pretty but hey- it’s not where you spend your time.
- 4/5
Great historic building. Valet parking was difficult and expensive.
- 5/5
Very nice staff and clean room
- 5/5
Older building that is well maintained with clean, comfortable rooms that's actually reasonable for the Chicago Theatre district.
- 5/5
Great breakfast, everything you need, and walking distance to most Chicago sightseeing
- 4/5
Good overall stay. Great staff! Pillows were awful and the water preasure was quite low. For the prices in and around Chicago, I would recommend.
- 5/5
Everything great. Clean facility, convenient location for us, very friendly staff, especially Robin at the front desk, and Admon, our valet who was extremely friendly and helpful, but all of our interactions with the staff, including the housekeeping and breakfast room staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions or needs we had.
- 5/5
Stores less than 5 minutes away
- 5/5
Everything was great, friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Excellent for everything!
- 4/5
I am an architect and the reproduction facility (Riteway Printing) my firm used was located in the Majestic Building. I worked for 30 years in the Inland Steel Building and 33 W. Monroe Building so this was a "Back in History" Chicago nostalgic trip for me. I enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theater District Hotel.
- 3/5
Did not enjoy going up and down to get to front desk. The dinning area is much too small. To many people for such a small space. The staff at the front desk were great but the towels are paper thin. Also, you provided (Expedia) false advertising that I would get my Hilton points of which I didn’t because you are a third party.
- 5/5
The room and the hotel were very clean. Elevators moved quickly and the upper floors have great views of the city. Bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was cold. Breakfast was a step above the typical free breakfasts that are normally avaliable.
- 4/5
The room was excellent, need a microwave
- 5/5
Great experience. Clean, quiet rooms. Breakfast was lovely.
- 4/5
All staff were incredibly nice. It really made it pleasant.
- 4/5
The front desk lady was wonderful and the continental breakfast had everything you could want!
- 4/5
Friendly staffs
- 3/5
Pro's: Well situated, just off State St. Walkable to financial and Theatre districts. Hotel building is very old. Valet parking is $65 / night. Rooms are clean and quite quiet. Con's: Main lobby is quite small and breakfast area is small. Breakfast offerings are basic. Room temperature was very slow with heating or cooling. Takes a long time to change temperature. Check in or out can be difficult if driving. Street is very narrow and crowded. Only 2 or 3 cars can be parked for check in or check out. Not a place I would consider for a weekend away but fine for a decent place to stay at a reasonable price.
- 3/5
Had good breakfast options, staff were friendly, and appreciated the in room fridges and TVs!
- 5/5
Loved!
- 5/5
Room was exactly as expected. We were happy with it. We had a terrible view from our window but that happens sometimes, no big deal. Theatre district and Financial district right here and a 20 minute walk to Mag Mile shopping. 10 minute walk to the lakefront, etc. Everyone at the hotel was friendly, especially the valets.
- 5/5
This is our 2nd stay. Good location and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Awesome hotel old but awesome. Night staff was great morning lady was overwhelmed and kind of rude. Breakfast was fantastic
- 5/5
Every employee we encounterd waa wonderful, Robyn is a superstar!
- 4/5
I felt safe, it was quiet, and clean.
- 5/5
Location is great. Hotel is comfortable. We have stayed here before and will consider staying again when coming to Chicago.
- 3/5
We promptly reported it to front desk but they said they'll address it in the morning so that was stressful not being able to use the toilet in our room for the night.
- 4/5
Desk staff could use a little personality boost. Valet was awesome. Perfect spot and a good value.
- 5/5
My father and I have stayed at this hotel for two consecutive years. It is extremely convenient to get to this hotel via subway from O'Hare Airport. Most of what you need to see in Chicago is within walking distance of this hotel. I will be back!
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
Staff are over the top friendly and helpful. On the negative side: bed was a bit soft for my liking; the elevators are small and often crowded and therefore slow; breakfast has extremely limited options for vegans. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay there again (but would not count on getting a nutritious breakfast given my vegan lifestyle).
- 5/5
Great breakfast
- 5/5
good location
- 5/5
Great service, clean and room is perfect size
- 5/5
Great location in a historic building. Only a 10 minute walk to the Bean. Staff was great and room was clean.
- 4/5
Good area surrounded by shops and restaurants.
- 5/5
Very nice property. Elevators took a bit but I knew that going in. Close to everything.
- 4/5
The faucet in bathroom was incorrectly placed that the water from the spout would spill on the counter top and make a huge puddle. Lastly the toilet didn't flush and had to call front desk to get a plunger. Oh yeah when it rains the TV's don't work.
- 5/5
Clean, safe, well located, helpful staff. Will definitely come back
- 5/5
Always consistent. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent location, safe and clean
- 5/5
I loved the location, but info about parking was minimal. Additionally, the lobby is on the 4th floor and nothing in the booking indicated that, so I looked pretty dumb trying to find it….
- 5/5
Clean, excellent service, great breakfast. No real complaints. Not pickin'... Elevator traffic was at times long and the lobby is meh. But none of that was a deal breaker. Great place, highly recommend.
- 5/5
Nice location and good bfast.
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 5/5
Beautiful quiet place to unwind foe Staycation
- 5/5
Great hotel. Friendly staff. Great location
- 5/5
Great location, great stay.
- 5/5
Unique building. Fabulous location. Friendly, efficient staff.
- 5/5
Excelente ubicación
- 4/5
Inadequate signage at the entrance and in the elevator area instructing visitors that the lobby is on the THIRD floor.
- 5/5
It was great hotel. Conveniently located in all the action.
- 5/5
Front desk staff excellent
- 5/5
Great location, spacious room, good breakfast, courteous staff and front desk; steps away from Blue and Red line trains; will certainly stay here again.
- 4/5
Great stay, close to events and easy to get around. Would like a parking option with reduced rate for no in and out privileges. Other than that, looking forward to staying again.
- 5/5
Great location. Second time staying here and very pleased both times. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
Solid place. Friendly staff. No issues, good budget friendly option.
- 2/5
My room air conditioning was not working. After 2 hours of trying to get it cooler, it was hotter (at 79 degrees). The hotel said that in the morning it could be fixed, but I was only staying one night. They had no emergency engineer they could call. They had no other room they could offer me, and they didn't have a fan they could offer me. They could not offer me a rebate or discount because I booked on hotels.com and not their web site. I paid over $200.00 to hardly sleep because it was so warm. This hotel used to be my favorite in Chicago before COVID. But, this, the first time I stayed since then, was terrible. I would not stay there again.
- 5/5
The staff were always super friendly, the guys working the valet helped us unload and load our bags from the car. The room was super spacious with lots of tabletop/counter space for your bags and other things and the bathroom had good space for all 3 of us to have our things on the vanity. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
The hotel checked all our boxes, but the people here are above and beyond expectations. We were able to store our luggage before check in as well as after checkout,, and the desk manager welcomed us with a smile, kind words, and even offered breakfast. I wish I remembered her name to recognize her high professionalism, but I was too jet-lagged. In the afternoon, Warren checked us in a way that not only welcomed and supported, he made us feel like long time friends. Definitely will choose this hotel if we visit Chicago again.

- 5/5
2nd time staying at this lovely hotel. Easy access to subway to and from airport. Free breakfast a plus. Large and quiet rooms. Thank you!
- 2/5
The elevators were overwhelmed during the mornings. Absolutely not able to handle all the people. The mattress was incredibly firm, which I found to be very uncomfortable. Breakfast are was tiny and overcrowded. Room was clean and quiet, though. We wont stay here again.
- 5/5
Perfect location for our needs. Comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was ok. The wonderful service from Robyn in the front lobby was amazing! She greets everyone with a smile, even though it is crazy busy at the desk with the breakfast crowd, she answers the phone, registers & checks out guests, provides receipts, helps with the luggage storage..,she is one amazing woman! I truly hope Hampton Inn recognizes what an asset she is to the hotel and company!! Thanks Robyn!
- 5/5
Very clean, small breakfast included and wifi. Parking is crazy priced but I didnt leave my vehicle on property. Was cheaper to uber everywhere. Staff were very proffessional and kind. Would def stay again.
- 3/5
Good place… but it took us a while to find the place. They are renovating so our free breakfast was delivered just in front of the elevator with only cupcake water and few sweet items.
- 1/5
Every interaction with the staff was poor. Very rude and they do not have staff that understands hospitality. We were talked down took at every opportunity. My daughter left a sentimental belonging in the room and we can to call twice then fill out an online form (run around) to get back it was not found. We have reasons to be in Chicago regularly, but will NOT stay here again. By the way 2nd stay in less than 30 days.
- 5/5
The staff was excellent they helped us in every way they were nice. The breakfast was amazing. What I like about here as you can leave your luggage before checking in and after you check out, you can leave your luggage until you need to fly out or however, you’re leaving.
- 5/5
Great hotel with friendly staff close to all the sites in Chicago.
- 4/5
Walking distance to millennium park ang river walk.parking is availabe nearby.
- 5/5
What a delightful experience. The staff was super courteous and made my stay in Chicago that much better. I would recommend this hotel to anyone headed to Chicago
- 4/5
Great moment
- 5/5
We had a great stay here. The room was much larger and nicer than we had expected, and very clean and updated. The access was easy, it was quiet and safe, and the location was wonderful for everything we wanted to do, while also being a better deal than the other hotels in the area. I would gladly stay here again!
- 5/5
Rooms were clean. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was good. We were close to a lot of the attractions and restaurants we were visiting and all were in walking distance.
- 4/5
Clean and welcoming. Staff was very friendly and helpful (especially with providing the “little extras” during the renovations). I asked for ear plugs, but they didn’t have them. Might be another “extra” to have available.
- 3/5
Valet service not well marked. Valet attendant hard to find and not having hotel lobby easily accessible upon areival
- 1/5
Do not book here
- 3/5
I picked this hotel because of the location and hot breakfast. Instead, the lobby and entrance were under construction and it wasn’t mentioned. Because of this, breakfast was in a sack. The same exact breakfast every morning. A bagel with no way to toast it, blueberry muffin, granola bar, juice and water. I just wish I would’ve known ahead of time because I would’ve chosen a different hotel. The woman was not super friendly when we checked in and just kept saying it was mentioned on the website. Well it wasn’t on the Expedia website. The room was clean but we had to keep having someone come fix the toilet so it would flush. Also the last night our neighbors were very noisy starting at 5 am. The front desk knew but nothing was done. The location was great. The woman checking us out in the morning was great.
- 4/5
Great location - truly just a place to sleep, but perfect for seeing the sights.
- 2/5
Arrived at the hotel to find scaffolding, complete disarray and no staff for valet parking. Called the hotel and was told to sit and wait (along with two other families) for valet staff to return. Staff at the desk in the second floor lobby explained there would be no breakfast buffet in the morning. In its place they’d have paper bag breakfasts near the elevators on each floor. Neither the construction nor the limited services were explained at time of booking or subsequent confirmation emails. I would not return or recommend this hotel to others.
- 4/5
Even though I thoroughly read the listing before I booked, nothing was said about the breakfast area being under construction until after I booked. I stay at Hampton for the breakfast and I had a very hungry teenager with me. I worked at Hampton Inn in my area for years so I was sad to see this happen. Otherwise things were great and the room was good for the price I paid. Staff was really good as well. I wish you luck with your remodel.
- 2/5
Upon check in, I was informed the lobby was under construction and there was no hot breakfast available. I did not receive any notification of this change. Instead, we received breakfast bags that consisted of a packaged muffin, a packaged mini bagel, a box of orange drink, and a bottle of water. Not an acceptable substitution. So, in total, this hotel stay cost me $300 extra in parking, breakfasts, and ride shares. Not cool.
- 5/5
It was a great experience!
- 4/5
Our shower didn't work - only the handheld - but it was nice that the shower and sink are equipped with liquid soap, shampoo, body wash. The lobby is under construction currently so we weren't able to do a hot breakfast but they provided a grab-n-go sack breakfast. For the price we got and the location though, it was the perfect place for us.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient to dining and shopping
- 4/5
The hotel is in a building so you have to take an elevator to the hotel registration desk. Its lobby is under construction so there is no place to sit like a regular hotel. It’s supposed to have complimentary breakfast - given that their lobby is not available they provide a bag w water, juice, muffin and bagel - I was not impressed. However, the staff is helpful and the location is very convenient. The room I was given had half a window and when I complained was upgraded so I was happy.
- 2/5
I was not told about construction until the night before with an automated email. There was no where to sit, and not even a bathroom to use in the hotel, except for the room. I checked out at 6:45am, and when I came back to pick up my bags to go to the airport, there was no where to change my clothes as I wanted to get out of my suit into casual clothes. I saw other people about to check in, and walked away and went to another hotel. I would have do the same thing the say prior, but I arrived at 6:45am on Tues 3/11, and needed to attend a 7:30am meeting so I had no choice but to leave my stuff and pay for the 1 night stay.
- 4/5
The room and bathroom were clean. The carpet was worn along the edges as was much of the furniture around the seams and corners. The lobby is under renovations, so breakfast was supposed to be "grab-n-go" on each floor. Unfortunately food was never set out on our floor or was miscounted as there was nothing there each morning. Overall location was good as it's a close walk to Michigan Avenue and we never felt unsafe walking to restaurants in the area.

Great location for sightseeing. Breakfast was great. Clean room. Staff were friendly and responsive. A great stay overall.

Its located in a historic building.
- 5/5
It was an excellent experience, staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and clean, great location
- 5/5
Staff is wonderful!
- 5/5
Very Impressive! Great Continental Breakfast, very friendly staff and Cleanliness all around. Close garage parking (valet parking if you choose) which is nice so you don’t have to walk too far to bring it to the front of the building to load it. Great showers too! Pretty Close to just about anywhere that you want to go too. All around a great time and experience there.
- 5/5
We would definitely recommend this hotel! It was perfect for our weekend stay, walking distance from a ton of the things on our list, and conveniently located between Blue Line and Red Line stops for everything else. It was very clean, and the staff was very kind. They also had a great breakfast. I just got home, and I wish I could go back.
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and gave advice for transportation suggestions around the area
- 5/5
Excellent centric location with easy transportation right outside the hotel. Breakfast was great, coffee and hot water available 24/7.
- 5/5
Staff at the facility was amazing!! So friendly and helpful. Top notch for sure.
- 5/5
Great stay. Clean. Quiet. Access to subway near. Friendly staff. Breakfast included!
- 5/5
Staff was amazing! Would stay again.
- 4/5
Very clean and comfortable room. Nice included breakfast with a variety of food available. Hotel was located in a great location in the Theatre District within walking distance of many theatres and variety of restaurants. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
We got a strange room that didnt have a full window, so we hardly could see outside or get daylight. The breakfast was nice, but we had to take our food up to our room because there wasnt much seating. At 9:30am housekeeping knocked on our door... not sure why we wete bothered when checkout was at 12pm. The pillows were lumpy too.
- 5/5
We have stayed here multiple times and love the location and the food options in the area. Plus, it is great location for going to theatre.
