The room was clean and nice with two beds, TV, coffee maker, and the stuff you would expect. The shower was really neat in that the floor was constructed to drain the water without a tub or other obstacles in your way. Nice view of the city where we were, and we were within walking distance of shopping and restaurants galore. Garage is attached to the hotel, and an elevator will take you straight to the lobby. The workout center has a lot of equipment, including something like 7 treadmills. Parking is $65 for 24 hours, and not great with the hourly rate either, so don't plan on a lot of in and out with the garage unless your credit card has a high limit. And don't drive anything too big, or your vehicle won't fit. Breakfast is a $29 buffet, or items off the menu, which aren't much cheaper. Drinks are included with the buffet though. There is no continental breakfast, but there is a line for pre-made breakfast items and coffee adjacent to the restaurant.

Evrything went well and the room with the sofa bed was great for three adults in town for the Blues Festival. Easy bus route to Millenium Park and elsewhere only 2 blocks away.

We were unfortunately placed on the fourth floor, and did not make a request for the view. It was an oversight on our part. also, if you take a hot shower, the condensation builds on the ceiling giving you a second shower after you’re done.

The pool/lounge area was amazing! Provided a great view and a wonderful place to relax right in the middle of the city! Every staff member we encountered was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Located just off Michigan Ave but still in a great location with easy access to so many Chicago sites. Would definitely stay here again.

The facilities were very clean and I actually would love to go back to spend a day at the pool with friends. The staff were very helpful and got us checked in early. If i had to find one thing to change, it would be vending options as The Market was closed when we were craving a sweet. However there is a little grocery store next to the hotel or plenty of options such as 7-Eleven or even Target within walking distance. Great location!

Great pool area and rooms were incredibly nice for the money. Parking fees. $65.00 per day is expensive and takes away much of the advantage of staying in downtown Chicago. It would have cost us less to stay in the suburbs and drive in to Chicago daily than what we spent on parking.

Good location, but.. an old hotel where rooms look old, tired and untidy. Very load air conditioning that makes it impossible to conduct normal conversation. Terrible staff unable to issue an invoice for the stay for an international traveller. The automatic parking that was unprepared for user with mobile from a different country. But the location was good.

I would not reserve a room if you enjoy showering. The water was either ice cold or scolding hot. I could not let the water touch my body. I had to get a towel wet, allow it to cool and then clean my body. I notified the front desk and they said it is a known problem. Also, there was a lot of obvious dust in the ceiling and we found a spider on our curtains. For a positive, the bed was comfortable and the location of the hotel was perfect to walk to Michigan Ave.

Hotel was perfectly located in Magnificent Mile. Check-in efficient and easy. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. Very clean hotel. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with lots of choices. Would definitely add-on breakfast if offered on Expedia. Just know gratuity automatically added to bill for “regular” pricing but the staff was absolutely amazing so felt this was worthwhile.

My husband and I stayed the night of our wedding and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Doubletree has always been my favorite spot because of the warm cookies but now that I’m older I notice things like the bedding and towel quality, etc.

Unfortunately it wasn’t a great stay. Our room was not serviced for two of the four days, despite asking for it. In addition, the outdoor pool was closed for the duration of the stay despite being advertised on booking and was one of the reasons the hotel was booked. Breakfast was good but has an awkward system where a credit is allocated and if it’s exceeded it’s charged to your room, could be better.

It was a lovely surprise to have a warm cookie and water waiting for us at check in. The front desk agent was very nice and welcoming along with the bar and wait staff. Bed was super comfy. Short walk to Navy Pier and shopping. The only thing was the thin walls and hearing everything in the hallway.

This is my second time staying at the Double Tree. Liam at the front desk provided a smooth check-in. Shannon and Bri texted during the stay to make sure everything was going good, and Ozel was a pleasure to speak to during check-out. Every morning when I saw the housekeeper, she gave a big smile and said good morning. Double Tree also gave warm cookies during check-in, who can say no to cookies! It was a pleasure saying here, and will stay here again!

Everything was good except for not having access to the outdoor space. When we were booking the hotel the outdoor area was one of the reasons the pulled us to stay there. It was not stated that it was unavailable for the season. The pool being closed i get it, but the rest that was featured in the photos was also off limits, the outdoor tents and the grass area.

The room was great and in a convenient location for walking anywhere around the city. The only issue we had was our rental car being hit in the parking deck. The security officer was extremely courteous and helpful - He waited with us for a police officer to file a report and also took the time to try to locate the other vehicle (hit and run).

room was clean except on 1/13/2025 when we turned on the water it was brown and cold. Called down to the front desk and they said they would call us back. nobody called so my husband went down. They had issues they said and plumbers where there to fix it. They said nothing they could do beause we didn't book through them. They finally gave us another room to take a shower and gave us a later check out. Plus some Hilton points.

The best hot shower ever ! The hotel was right beside a grocery store and a Whole Foods across the street . The only downside was there is only one microwave in the lobby and not in the rooms . They have a market to get all your essentials but they are only open until 3p. I appreciate the starbucks they have in the lobby is so good !!!

We stayed at the Doubletree for the weekend for a girls 21st birthday celebration, with ages ranging from 21-65. Everyone was very accommodating from early check in to late check out, baggage storing, extra blankets, etc. the location is perfect for all the activities!

The king size room was great and very spacious. The bathroom was a bit outdated but functional and we loved the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. It was in a great location for shopping and super close to Navy pier. Parking was right on site and easy to get to within in and out access. I didn’t love that this hotel is part of Hilton grand vacations as there were Timeshare vibes in the lobby, which made it feel a bit awkward. For example, two young women approached me while I was waiting for my fiancé. They asked me if I wanted free Hilton HONORS points. I asked what I needed to do to get these free points and they said nothing. So when I gave him my phone number for the HONORS points, they tried to get me to buy a discounted stay and when I told them that I didn’t need that they thanked me and walked away without following through on their promise of free Hilton HONORS points. This felt a little bit icky for lack of a better word. We enjoyed ourselves but would probably stay at a different Hilton property next time.

Heating didn’t work frost inside windows and bed sheets extremely thin. The heater is fan assisted and was so noisy coming on and off during the night causing a cold and restless nights sleep. Towels not changed when room was cleaned and belongings thrown on the floor when beds had been made.

It's a nice place for a good price. Rooms are ok. Nothing spectacular. But by no means is it a dump. Lobby had a nice feel with many options. Check in staff were extraordinarily pleasant and nice. The cookie at check in is probably why i always come back. My room did feel drafty and that special single chair in the room... the weird one off to the side... had spotty stains on it. Which instilled a slightly uncomfortable feeling.

Room needed an update - we surprisingly were given a handicapped accessible bathroom and the floors were warped in weird ways that would have been difficult for someone in a wheelchair. Also there was a random dirty sock in the room. :-/

Loved everything. However I wish they had room service, their market closes pretty early so if you are craving a late night snack you’d have to leave the hotel which is extremely inconvenient especially in the snow storm which happened to us so we ended up paying a lot for Uber Eats. Moreover, housekeeping comes too early. Typically in other hotels I’ve stayed at they come at noon, this was around 9/10am. I wish breakfast was included and didn’t have to pay additional since this is a Hilton hotel but Expedia gives the cheapest without high floor option and breakfast options. Lastly if they had a hot tub and indoor pool this would be a 10/10, most people come to Chicago during holiday season and would love to warm up with that. Besides those small yet crucial pieces, the hotel is very modern, the staff is extremely friendly, their cookies are amazing warm and overall a clean and modern hotel. (One more thing, the TV is basically useless. No access to streaming platforms and YouTube. Cable only had select channels but they offered On Demand but was extremely confusing to use and overpriced (renting a movie averaged around 15-20 bucks vs a new Netflix subscription which is $7.99).

Hotel is two blocks from Michigan Avenue, so shopping and dining is close by. Everything is walkable. I appreciated the fact that you had to scan your room key to use the elevator. The extra level of security is a plus. The rooms were very nice and modern. Management texted daily to ask how your stay was going. I would stay here again.

There was no hot water during several days of my stay, and the furniture feels very worn out. The coffee dripper machine was disgustingly dirty inside, where you pour the water, and it’s built in so you can’t even unplug or clean it properly. They never replaced the paper cups, and the same two crystal glasses stayed dirty in the room for five days without being changed. Connecting any personal streaming device (like Apple TV) is a nightmare the hotel blocks it so you’re forced to use their overpriced and outdated movie system. The room service staff were rude, and the operator at the service line was unpleasant every time I asked for help. Overall, the atmosphere feels like a mass tourism or convention type hotel where no one really cares about individual guests. The lobby is fine and the location is good, but if you’re looking for genuine hospitality or a comfortable, well-maintained room, book somewhere else.

Out of the Buffett room instead of just saying they were filling the trays . Never should anyone place there hands on you especially without permission and then when I asked her to let go she laughed and pushed me Out the door more. Then at checkout they overcharged me for things I didn’t get- when I told them they said they took it Off and I just checked and they charged the original amount . I would never go back again. It’s really upsetting. Not to mention it was like pulling teeth to get a towel the housekeeping Said I had the tell the front desk and the front desk said they outsourced housekeeping and I had to ask them… nightmare

Loved the breakfast area ( buffet or ala carts ) as well as the grab and go ( coffee, pastries and breakfast platters) Loved the location : quiet , convenient and 15-20 minutes walk from ( Riverwalk / Architecture River Cruise ), shopping at Michigan Ave , Navy Pier , etc. However it was too far from Millennium Park , Fied Museum and Art Institute so we just used Uber. The hotel was nice however Brianna at check in was rude & unprofessional. We were not able to check in until after 5:30pm the rooms were not ready we were switched to three rooms. Nicholas the front mgr gave us a bar credit but we weren’t settled in our rooms until after 630pm the security team was amazing the bell men super helpful and the bar nice and welcoming. I finally spoke to a manager she apologize on behalf of staff from house keeping and moreso front desk. I would stay there again but I would certainly not ask for accommodations for the room regardless if able to accommodate or not the stream line of communication between the front desk & housekeeping was very unprofessional

Loved the location. We really enjoyed our room although when I went to take a shower in the morning, the conditioner bottle was empty, which can be really frustrating if you need conditioner in your hair to come through it. But we had access to someone on our messages at all times and they were more than willing to fix anything that was not working properly. Overall, it was a great experience.

Loved this location. Especially the rooftop pool. I went with a couple of friends and we had a great time. It was close to tons of things to do and we were able to walk to and from the Ohio St beach. When we arrived a few hours later we were told there are no adjoining rooms available. Had they just been honest to begin with we would have booked somewhere else. That was the whole point of the kids being together for the weekend. As far as the rooms: The bath tub did not drain properly so you were standing in 3" of water every time you showered. For 4 people we were given 3 towels and when we asked housekeeping for more we were told that's a front desk problem, you will have to call them. So every day for 4 days we had to call the front desk for more towels. The phone in one of the rooms didn't work. The hotel itself is in the perfect location for walking to shopping, food and Navy Pier. When we were checking out there were 2 different parties at the desk complaining about their reservations not being what they were promised either. So I advise if you need something specific, beware of booking here. They really need to work on their reservation promises.

Although the room was comfortable & clean, there were several things I found wanting. I received no information about the hotel amenities….. where the fitness room was; how to get to the pool, etc. In the Grand Resorts suite there were no dishes or utensils in the kitchenette & I couldn’t get the TV connected to my apps. (I even had someone from the hotel come up to help). And why in Chicago is the pool outdoors? That makes no sense! This is not a hotel I would return to.

My family and I stayed here between August 24-28th and we were over charged for our stay when Hotels.com gave us the deal already. I tried to explain myself to the man at the front desk but he just shrugged it off saying there’s a $400 incidental hold. After when I returned back home I noticed I was only refunded $42 CDN back and called front desk who I was directed to someone else and her voice gave off that I was over charged for my stay but said “that’s the consequences of you booking through third party so you will have to contact them and deal with it.” Poor customer service and unprofessional of Double Tree Hilton Chicago never booking with them again.

I loved my stay at this wonderful hotel!! The kindness and attentiveness of the staff made all the difference! Literally every staff member I encountered greeted me with a genuine smile and tried to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Their famous warm cookies when you check in were just the beginning of what became a very sweet and memorable stay on Chicago!

Staff was friendly but nothing extra. I got messages from the staff as a HH member about how my stay was going. When I asked to add late check-out they said that would be done but when it was that time I arrived at my room locked out and had to go to the desk again, wait in line, showing ID and go back up We also forgot a phone charger. Would be nice to hear that it was found and could be sent or picked up $75 per night for a small dog is also painful

Great for family. Needed to get another set of towels and had to go down to the lobby to ask for some because the phone in the room did not work.

The hotel needs updating in the bathrooms mostly. The front desk staff need more training, they don’t look professional, no uniforms, saw an employee with flip flops. The restaurant is extremely good, the food is great quality and the staff is very attentive

The female at the desk was rude to me. First when I called for an early check in I was hung up on. Then we get to the hotel at 3:30 for a 4oclock check in and was told our room would not be ready until 4. That was fine but no communication was given to me so I went to the desk and was told our room would not be ready until 4:30. There was so sense of urgency just rudeness.

Great location! Walking distance to so much! The beds are beyond comfortable and the walls must be thick because we never heard a peep. They gave us a late check out without any problem. The bar in the hotel is quaint and they offer breakfast to go for $12. we chose the hotel because of its 'rooftop' pool which is on the 5 the floor. Unfortunately, there were so many kids that we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked to but that's not the hotels fault. Our beds was made up every day which is not the case in many hotels. I would definitely stay here again!

Rented the hotel for my daughter. Put it in her name and age in reservation. When she arrived at the hotel, she was not allowed to check in because she wasn’t 21 (she’s 19). The room was already paid for and there was no refund given.
