Reviews
The hotel is praised for its friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern rooms, and convenient location with easy access to restaurants, shops, and attractions. However, some guests express dissatisfaction with the lack of breakfast inclusion or pool for the price, noise issues, and minor maintenance problems.

What will stick with me is having someone enter my room with their own key. He didn’t speak English and through a translator app apologized. The front desk claimed he was an employee and they thought my room was empty, but I was rattled after that. I wasn’t sure how they could’ve made it better, I just knew I felt incredibly uneasy about the fact someone had entered my room. I was traveling with my kids without my husband. I felt very vulnerable. The front desk appeared to understand and offered to comp my night because a room change wasn’t possible due to being sold out, but they never followed through. This is the second time in 2026 my family has stayed here, and I will be in the Chicago area several times a year going forward, but unlikely I will stay here ever again.

Unfortunately, my recent stay started on a disappointing note. I politely asked about the possibility of an early check-in, and one of the staff members responded with a dismissive tone and attitude, saying that nothing was available and that everything had been booked the day before. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and left a bad impression. Thankfully, Julie was very kind and helpful. Since we wanted to explore the city while waiting for our room, she assisted us with our bags and made the situation much easier. Later in the day, I spoke with the afternoon staff about what happened, and they listened attentively, apologized for the experience, and said they would make a note of it. They also gave us complimentary Gatorade, which was a thoughtful gesture. Overall, the room quality was good, and the afternoon team handled the situation professionally. I’m grateful for their kindness and for Julie’s help. However, the negative interaction in the morning affected what could have been another great stay.

Walls are thin, prob because older building, but i could hear neighbors TV, and slamming of doors very easily. AC was broken in a friends room during our stay, they couldnt move him to another room, dude had to sleep in a room with no AC. Gave him a few drinks for comp, but still, no where near worth it.

I enjoyed the convenience of the location. The room was nice and clean. Would recommend this hotel.

Very good

Strange entrance from the street. It’s just an elevator lobby. Check in and lobby is on the 9th floor. Just seems weird walking in off the street and just standing there for an elevator. Location is great.
- 3/5
Room / floors need to be washed. Not just vacuumed.
- 3/5
Good location to theater district Wasn’t the cleanest facility, from ground floor entrance to lobby. Needed a sweep. Overall room was clean except the hair on the makeup towel.

What was more concerning was the attitude of several front desk staff members. From the moment we arrived, we were met with an apparent lack of hospitality, including dismissive responses and an overall demeanor that felt unwelcoming. The first room we were assigned was unacceptable for the rate being charged. It was small, dark, had an unpleasant odor, appeared worn and shabby, and featured a dirty window that was obstructed by an exterior banner, leaving little natural light or view. When we politely requested a different room, we were told none were available and again encountered a less-than-friendly response from staff. We ultimately decided to wait for another room to become available. Unfortunately, the replacement room also had cleanliness issues. We found hair in the shower, on the bathroom countertop, and on a chair in the room, which raised concerns about housekeeping standards. The room was also surprisingly lacking in storage space, with no drawers available for clothing. The bathroom was equally inconvenient, offering only a single hook and one towel bar located inside the shower area. The ground floor security was a bright spot.

Hotel staff were all really welcoming and helpful. The room was perfect - clean, very comfortable beds. Thumbs up - highly recommend to travelers, and we’d stay here again if we come back to Chicago.

Ideal location in "The Loop" and in the Theater District, very easy access to public transit (bus and train), just two blocks from Riverwalk, many local restaurants and retailers (e.g. Walgreens, Target). Room clean and sufficient size. King-sized bed was comfortable. Large bathroom shower. Appropriate size TV, sufficient number of outlets/ports for electronics. Efficient/reliable room service. Would have been good to have luggage rack in room.

The location, the game room, bar, restaurant were all great When we arrived the bathroom vent was leaking above and on our heads while using the toilet, there was crumbs in our beds, none of the shampoo, conditioner or body wash were filled.

We had a great time in Chicago. The hotel was very convenient and the location was very helpful to move around downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The staff was so helpful and kind, the room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the location was perfect. They validate parking, making it free. The one thing I disliked was the bathroom door and the shower door. The bathroom door is a heavy sliding door that made lots of noise and woke my family when I was getting up in the night. The shower door is just half of a glass enclosure so the water inevitably sprays outside of the shower boundaries. Overall those were tiny things that would not stop me from coming back.
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Delightful service.
- 2/5
The people there were nice I like the fact that they had a parking spot in the ramps It was not aesthetically pleasing at all. I felt like it wasn’t worth the money $900 for that little room after staying here. I don’t really wanna try out new hotels anymore. The bathroom is so intimate is hard to stay here with a platonic friend.

I loved my room and the staff was super friendly!! Will definitely stay here again!!

The property was not worth the price!!!
- 3/5
The property is fine if you only need a place to sleep. If you’re looking for a hotel where you might also take a meal, or engage in other activities, then I would recommend somewhere else. Additionally, worth noting that the lobby/check-in area is on the ninth floor, which also houses hotel rooms. Therefore, one does not necessarily need to be a guest of the hotel to access the ninth floor. Late in the evening on one of our nights (our room was also on the ninth floor), my wife and I heard someone standing directly outside our door, blasting music. They eventually moved on, but the experience was unsettling.
- 4/5
Close to theatre district and Millenium park/station. Room was nice enough.
- 5/5
Only hear for a short time but the staff were very friendly. The window in our room on the the 18th floor wasn’t locked which caused the room to be noisy. We told the front desk and someone was there to fix it in just a few minutes. Perfectly quiet!

Got there and the lobby was damaged and dirty. Once we got in our room it looked barely cleaned. Didn't even end up staying.
- 4/5
The hotel itself is very clean and most of the facilities are great. The only thing is that parking is very expensive, $57 per night!
- 5/5
The room was clean and staff was very helpful

You can't beat the location. Super convenient. And if you know how to navigate the public transportation system (CTA, Metra) you can go anywhere from Cambria Hotel.
- 4/5
Marvelous location…missed having a safe…coffee paraphernalia was not complete…appreciated security at street level.

Our room was huge! Not far from the Blue Line. Great restaurants nearby.

Room was clean and a good size. The bed was comfortable and I loved yhe walk in shower. Great location in the theater district.

Clean rooms, staff is very nice except this one lady , I been staying here 3 weekends in a row and never had an issue all the staff is super nice just this lady that’s super rude with everyone her name is Jen or Jenny not really sure but I believe she’s Latina I complained with one of the staff member and he told me they know about it because people complained in the past. But besides that everything is clean , super close to the train station, stores, Michigan Avenue. I totally recommend to stay here.

Room was small but clean. Staff were great. Very helpful and kind. Great location.

Sad dark and depressing vibe with minimally helpful staff, but clean & well located in center of loop
- 5/5
It was clean, the bed was amazing, the room was comfortable. the ground floor concierges/security were very knowledgeable and friendly.
- 5/5
Hotel was in a great location. Staff were great, especially Brett. Room was very clean except for the ledge of the desk. Downfall is that there is no included breakfast. There is a restaurant within the hotel but it’s a little pricy. The kitchen is also closed during lunch and stops serving food at 9:15 pm. The bar is open for drinks until10:00 pm. You are also able to store your luggage in a locked closet if you get there prior to check in or stay later than check out which was great.
- 4/5
Th rooms are nice and looks just like the photos. The staff was nice and the king size bed was very comfortable. My husband and I stayed at Cambria to celebrate our anniversary in Chicago. Cambria did not disappoint.

Terrible menu. Overpriced. I didn't eat breakfast there cause my dinner was not very impressive. Also a litle dusty. In the room and the couch in my room was very old and had bunch of stains under the seats. Overall was okay but not whaoooo.

really loved this place.

Rooms are clean very spacious, staff was definitely nice specially the guy at the entrance. Close to everything just a few steps from millennium station and other places.
- 5/5
The area felt safe, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and pleasant throughout our stay. The check-in lobby is located on the 9th floor, which initially threw us off, but the front desk attendant was very welcoming and clearly explained where to go. Our room was gorgeous, spacious, and well maintained. It was very clean and had plenty of space for two people. There is a bar and a small market on the 9th floor as well. Although we didn’t use these amenities, they appeared fully stocked. The bar looked trendy and very cute. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
I was pleasantly surprised about this hotel. The location is perfect, in the heart of the theatr district, Millineum Park, close to so many attractions, restaurants, as well as, transportation around the city. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful whenever I had a question about hotel services. My room was quiet, despite facing an extremely busy street. I loved walking around with not only people coming to and from work, but also the tourists. For me, this was a rare find.
- 5/5
Location is very convenient and room is very clean. High quality hotel.
- 3/5
The location is everything. I love Cambria Hotels when I’m traveling, but this one was not so clean
- 2/5
This would’ve been 5 stars except for the bed bugs and lack of follow-up regarding bed bugs. The staff on site were helpful (especially Latrice!) and offered to get our laundry done and switched our room promptly. However, going through ALL belongings (to ensure we were not taking bed bugs to our new room) and packing up, moving, and getting resettled took several hours. We missed brunch with friends in the city and this just really put us out for 1/2 a day of a 2.5 day trip. We were offered no compensation even after being told someone would follow-up. (I reached out and still nobody got back to me.) This along with the bugs tarnished the hotel for us.

Our room was dirty, looked like a drink had been spilled and had splattered on wall. Not cleaned. Sheets and pillows had hair on them. There was hair in the bathroom sink. Overall the room wasn’t clean!

The bar was clean but I only checked it out, I didn’t eat or drink there
- 5/5
Location, location, location. Pretty nice hotel with access to every main cta route. Staff was great. Room was perfect.
- 5/5
Nice music mirror
- 4/5
The location is great. The room was a comfortable size & very clean. The staff were outgoing, helpful, & proactive. Our singular issue was with the restaurant: described as Breakfast 7-11 Daily, Dinner vaguely available "Not only do we offer delicious food, but we also indulge our guests with a Happy Hour every day between 4 & 6pm." No dinner service Saturday, and zero any service Sunday morning - not even the "Free barista coffee bar daily". The staff were obviously frustrated & apologetic when kitchen staff failed to appear. Maybe it was about ICE..? maybe the holiday weekend? We'll never know. But overall, it was a wonderful wedding trip for our family, & Cambria met nearly ALL our needs!
- 5/5
I love this hotel. We have stayed there several times when we go to see a show and you cannot beat the convenience or the fabulous accomodations.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, great gaming room!
- 5/5
We were able to check in efficiently. All onsite amenities were easily accessible. The rooms were clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Absolutely loved this hotel , the room , the staff was amazing !
- 5/5
Localización excelente y habitaciones cómodas.
- 5/5
Lobby staff were incredibly kind and personable! The room was cleaned up very nicely. The only thing that was a bit problematic was the sound of vehicle traffic outside, but that is no fault of the hotel or staff. Overall, an enjoyable experience!
- 5/5
Room was clean, location was perfect for a first time stay in Chicago. Candidly, the (as someone from the NYC metro region) I hadn’t realized I booked in the most touristy location so finding coffee shops and restaurants that weren’t chains and tourist traps was difficult but my man James at the entrance pointed me constantly in the right direction for recommendations that I’d never find on my own. He really elevated my experience as a local guide. Great guy!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We had an amazing time. Staff was great. Great location.
- 5/5
The location is perfect for what we needed. Walking distance to where we were going and parking ramp right there. The staff was great and room was clean. The restaurant menu was fairly limited but the hamburgers were great. Had The best pillows I ever laid my head on. I would love to buy them if can figure out how!!!!
- 2/5
Initial when we arrive at the hotel, I was a little afraid that our room would be dirty based on the conditions of the first floor and the lobby. The property doesn’t offer late check out, they don’t pick you up for the airport, they don’t decorate for newly engaged couples, they don’t offer room service. However, they kept our bags until check in and check out. They have a few games and a game room, but a few of the games were broken and the pool table is not well kept. We were able to get to one of their happy hours at the bar and the bare tender Dave was amazing. When we tried to order lunch on a separate occasion we were met with a nasty bartender who did not address us. She has us wait for a group of 5 who did not know their what to order, finally took their order, made each drink, cleaned up, and then closed each persons tab before even looking our way. While I had a great time in Chicago and the hotel is not the worse, I believe it’s important to create a great experience for guest and that’s just not something I received and I’m positive that there’s better out there for the same price.

the hotel was close to the theater we attended making it an easy walk.

I used the gym's stair climber. It was very good, even if I was not! The barbell weights worked...although gravity helped them! Very clean with towella, water and sanitizing gel, etc. Good room.
- 5/5
Nice room for the weekend but lacked hand soap for the sink
- 5/5
Nice spot next to train station. Friendly staff
- 5/5
Great location, clean, friendly staff, and it even came with a microwave which I feel most hotels lack. My only quite small complaint is the lack of a blow dryer
- 1/5
No nothing didn’t meet my expectations very disturbing
- 3/5
THE GOOD: Theater District is great if you’re going to see a show. There is a large Walgreens that you can walk to nearby to stock up your room w/ drinks etc. One of the best things the hotel does for those with a car is the relationship with the garage on Dearborn (I believe) that just around the corner from the hotel. It is like $57 a night with In-N-Out privileges but if you let them know at the front desk that you’re in the parking garage, they can send you a link to a QR code that basically automatically opens and closes the doors of the garage very easily when you come & go. And it is all billed to your room so that is super easy. Other things is there is a refrigerator and a microwave in the room which is handy. Good price for the area. THE MEH: My flight was delayed and I arrived passed midnight. You should know at 11 PM they lock the doors and you’ll be left out on the street if you do not have a key card to get in. The lobby is on the 9th floor & there is supposed to be a person inside the entrance who keeps watch of the door to let you in if you are a guest locked out however there was no one by the door when we arrived and we stood outside in the very cold weather for 20 min before being let in. The beds were too firm for us. The main common areas are pretty worn down kinda dirty.

The doorman and front desk was friendly but our room was gross & run down. Stayed in room 2002 and there was mold on the bathtub all along the caulk, it stunk of mildew, and the drain was clogged. So a short shower was staining in a pond. The bed had tons of dust around the bedframe, stains on the walls, ceiling & couch. And the air filter was disgusting & not changed in probably a year, is I checked because I had to sleep next to it. I developed a sore throught & breathing issues staying here one night. I wouldn’t come back or recommend this place until it’s properly cleaned & the mold is taken care of. Just gross and I’m mad I payed $200 to stay in a room not properly cared for.
- 3/5
Shower would either be really hot or freezing cold.
- 5/5
I stayed for 5 days, room was cleaned every day, staff was very helpful and there's a walgreens nearby for any needs.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, very clean and very comfortable. Close to everything. I will always stay here when I am in the area.
- 3/5
The hotel doesn’t clean the room more than once in two days even upon request (so I stayed from Wednesday to Sunday and my room was only cleaned ones). Even then it is clear that they do the minimal necessary so it only looks clean.. The room is relatively noise. There was no soap in the despencer when I arrived.
- 2/5
Dirty room and surrounding, most neglectful house keeping, sirens fro the streets disturb sleep, hairs on washed tiwels.
- 3/5
Overall the stay was just ok. Did not get the room we booked but since we stayed one night, it wasn’t too bad of a deal breaker. My fiancée and I stay in the city a lot and this was definitely on the bottom of our list of stays. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t good. Room was clean
- 5/5
The room was great and the staff and location was great.
- 5/5
Large clean room with great view. Friendly staff.
- 3/5
The room was not very clean - dirt on the walls, hair clumps visible under the bed, water marks from glasses on the countertop. The room is also laid out terribly. Only one towel hook in a room with two queen beds, the refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker are on a low shelf next to a bed and you can barely open the doors to access them. And there’s no chair or table or luggage rack. The location was helpful given our theater tickets but I otherwise would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Keurig machine did not work. No hair dryer.
- 4/5
-very walkable area, several theatres & restaurants nearby -"Lake" stop on CTA's Red train line is 2-minute walk away -hotel doesn't have its own covered area to drive your car up to the entrance, but there's a parking lane in front where you can stop to unload luggage Parking: -hotel doesn't offer valet parking & also doesn't have their own, dedicated parking lot or garage: suggests that guests use "Theatre District iParkit Garage," which is a short walk around the corner from the hotel -hotel isn't attached to the parking garage, so you'll need to walk outside from the garage & down the street to get to the hotel -in early February 2026, cost of parking in that garage was $55-$60 per day Building: -hotel's lobby is on 9th floor, but they do offer luggage carts on ground floor -once you go into building, there's a small alcove near elevators where you can find luggage carts -elevator buttons & signage clearly mark how to find hotel lobby; after check-in, you'll need room key to fully access all features of elevator -lobby area was clean & stylish; it had a small variety of tabletop games for guests to play, bar/restaurant area, & small convenience area to buy souvenirs, snacks, & drinks -employees at check-in were polite, patient, & helpful Room (booked a "Standard Room, 1 King Bed"): -very high ceilings & windows, but floor area of the room wasn't big -room was fine for having a space to rest/relax, set our stuff, & get ready for an event Room Notes: -we were

This was not a 4-star hotel. The hallways were dark, narrow, filthy, and dated. The rooms were filthy. My trash hadn’t even been emptied when I checked in. It was noisy. It smelled awful. Avoid this place. There are other hotels that are almost as convenient as this one to all the theatres, and they are much nicer.
- 5/5
The room was newly remodeled and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Hallways had some scuff marks and there was noise from emergency vehicles but overall very satisfactory.
- 4/5

Friendly staff.
- 4/5
The room was amazing! Clean and comfortable. They even honored my special request for a room with a bath. Place was very well kept and maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Located in the heart of the city. The only thing that was not perfect was the restaurant in the hotel was always out of food so don't count on getting a bite to eat on site. They did sell snacks as another option close to checkout counter. Overall, a very good experience.
- 5/5
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and truly enjoyed our experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax. Very tasty & generous breakfast. The staff were welcoming, courteous, and attentive to our needs throughout our visit. Everything was smooth from check-in to check-out. We would gladly stay here again and recommend it to others
- 2/5
Within 10 minutes of looking over the room, I found a used needle and syringe hidden under a blanket. The staff at the front desk was quick to come with a sharps box when I called. Obviously something they are ready for. Also, the heater was broken and they did move us to a new room, but didn’t discount or refund anything until checkout when I mentioned the issues that we had. I was credited $65 for our breakfast.
- 4/5
The room was clean and adequate. I found the desk staff, doormen and bartender excellent!
- 5/5
Clean great location
- 5/5
Clean room great staff
- 5/5
Room was spotless and right near where we were going, which made things easier with the frigid temps. Thanks!
- 3/5
Staff was courteous. Room was clean, but uncomfortable. No coffee machine. Room was freezing, never warmed up past 67 degrees. Food in restaurant was horrible. And understaffed, one person running bar and restaurant!
- 4/5
The staff were nice as well as the room. My only complain is that the dining area the lady was rude and they didn't take allergy into consideration.
- 3/5
We’ve stayed here every year in winter for three years but this year was not good and it is showing that repairs need to be done. The staff is friendly, the lobby is clean, the room was not horrible but was rushed to be cleaned. The cleaning tool was still in the shower covered in scum, hair still all over the bath. The sliding bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed so there was no privacy for a family. It is in a great location for what we go there for, and so much near by. The parking has gotten pricey but that’s Chicago.
- 1/5
This hotel can definitely use a lot of renovation. This Cambria is not like some of the other Cambrias I have stayed in other places. The hallway floors are so dirty and needs to be cleaned. My room did not have a phone to call the front desk or a trash can. The only trash can in the room was the small one in the bathroom. Imagine being in Chicago with 1 degree weather and taking a cold shower. Two nights out of the three I stayed the water was cold. I was very upset about that. Housekeeping needs to fired and a whole new staff needs to be hired. My pillow had makeup on it and my sheets look like someone threw up on it. The only thing good about this hotel is the location and that’s the only reason I gave one star. We were able to walk everywhere and the subway was a short walk. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Spotless room
- 4/5
Clean room. Found it strange that you had to go up to the 9th floor to check in. Liked that you had to use room card to access room floors. Room was nice, but hard to heat
- 4/5
Had to switch rooms first night due to broken toilet. Appreciated that they were able to move us right away, and there were no other problems with the room.
- 5/5
We enjoyed every moment. I had a group there
- 5/5
great and affordable hotel
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was friendly, channel selection on tv was lacking, elevators were slow and were only down to one on our stay. Close to all the theaters and pretty central to a lot.Would stay again!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Great location!
- 1/5
However, the reason for the low rating is the daily housekeeping service. My family stayed at this hotel for four nights. At check-in, we were asked if we wanted daily housekeeping, and we said yes. Unfortunately, we only received the service once and never again. Imagine this: after a long day of sightseeing, we returned to our room exhausted, only to be greeted by the trash we had left outside our door in the morning, instead of a cleaned room. The towels in the bathroom were exactly as we had left them as well. We spent two nights sleeping in a room filled with dust and hair. We have stayed at many hotels, but this was our first experience like this. This hotel will be remembered as the worst one we have stayed at.

Everything was great! From the doorman to the front desk, to the housekeeping!
- 5/5
The friendly staff, great customer service.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Clean room really updated
- 2/5
The room was not cleaned a single day during our stay. The food was terrible! I do not recommend this hotel at all!!!! The location is good!
- 5/5
Great room and friendly staff. Great place to stay for the price. I Would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.
- 5/5
Rrrrr
- 2/5
The AC didn’t work in the room, the microwave was absolutely disgusting (I didn’t use), there was a pair of dirty socks left from what I assume was the previous occupant, and they were out of nearly everything I wanted to eat for breakfast. Great location, the staff was nice but not a great experience for me.
- 5/5
Room was spacious!
- 5/5
I’ve stayed in this hotel multiple times. It’s in a great location, the rooms are cute, and I just love staying here.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff.
- 4/5
The daytime doorman was extremely helpful and courteous! The Cambria is in a great location.
- 5/5
Clean and Spacious 2 queen room. Excellent for our family trip. Unique hotel, with great location right in the loop. Perfect for our shopping trip to Macy's and the ChristkindleMarket. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Staff was helpful and the location was a real bonus. Walkable to theaters and Christkindel Market.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful
- 1/5
Don't go there, everything was terrible
- 2/5
My room wasn’t ready during check in. Also, the elevators stop working twice during the stay.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff!
- 5/5
I had such a great experience staying at this hotel. It was in the heart or everything! The staff were professional and courteous.
- 5/5
Clean room, a lot of natural light from the big windows, ample space. Loved not having carpet in the room. Check-in is on the 9th floor. They have game room in the 5th floor. The restaurant is not always open for breakfast. Centrally located. Will def come again!!!
- 5/5
Clean room, great location
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable!! The parking was around the corner and on par price wise for the city!! The area had lots of pedestrian traffic and lots going on! The room view was great! The bell/ valet gentlemen were always friendly and nice! The hotel decor was festive and fun! I can't think of anything bad I could say about the property if I tried!! Check-in out was easy and
- 5/5
I would happily stay there again. It was comfortable and very convenient to the Museum and Macy's . It was easy to get to on the train from the airport. Only one block away from the Washington Station. The only down side was that the entrance is a bit confusing. When I arrived there was not anyone there and then I found that the Lobby is on the ninth Floor
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly at check-in and the bartender was very nice!
- 5/5
the room was cleaned after the furst night but the did not cone the next day and i asked for everyday
- 5/5
Clean room and great staff
- 3/5
Nice quiet room - not super big, which is fine if you’re exploring the city. Our room wasn’t super clean - used toothpaste tube in the shower and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned well.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The security staff were always friendly when coming and going. The hotel was a perfect location for my needs.
- 3/5
The general areas- lobby, hallways, elevator were run down and dated. The "game room" had a pool table. Great, except no chalk for the cues. It also had a fusball table that was "out of service" due to a broken player... The hotel room itself was fine- clean. The windows were drafty. We needed to turn the heat up quite a bit for chiacgo winter winds. You get what you pay for at this hotel.
- 4/5
There was no breakfast available the last day of my stay due to the fact that the server was ill and could not work. There was no backup plan.
- 1/5
This complaint is directed towards Expedia not Cambria. It didn’t go well because you refused to give us a refund. You’re a multi billion dollar company, yet you refused to refund a family $380. Cambria hotel was okay refunding us because we called to cancel within their hotel cancellation policy parameters. We should have been granted the refund. A few hundred dollars is nothing to your company but it’s a lot to your customers. And to rip off your customers is unacceptable. We should have been granted the refund. We received an email claiming you reached out to Cambria to get authorization for a refund and didn’t get ahold of anyone. We got ahold of them without problem so I don’t think your company is being honest. We will not be using Expedia again. And we will be sure to let anyone we know about our poor experience with Expedia.

Overall, our stay was great. The rooms have been updated and were clean but there are no drawers to put clothes/personal items in. This meant that everything is left sitting on the desk or bench or on the shelf in the nightstand. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were amazing. The bathrooms were very large and updated. However the water temperature in the shower was either scalding hot or cold. Nothing in between. The staff we came in contact with were all very pleasant and personable. The bartender, David, in Intermission, was amazing. He was a wealth of knowledge about the city and its sights. charged for two nights of parking because it was 11:45. We needed to wait until 12:00 noon to only get charged for 1 night. This is our 3 or 4 year staying at the Cambria and we never had this charge before. Would have been nice to know before we got there 15 minutes to early.
- 5/5
The room was clean and modern. Great location
- 5/5
Clean, modern, friendly/helpful staff, the perfect spot for staying for a show at The Chicago Theatre. Parking was close and easy too.
- 5/5
Clean room. Walkable to many landmarks.
- 4/5
Room was clean. One of the elevators was out of service, so getting to the street/room took a little bit longer. Location was great though.
- 5/5
Easy to get to shopping, theatre and great restaurants
- 3/5
The staff were great, and couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The hotel, however, is run down. There are scrapes all along the corridor walls from over the years. Our bathroom silicon seal along the bath tile was black and the bath was chipped. Our shower switched back and forth from scalding hot to freezing cold so you daren't go under it entirely. Breakfast was very good, but expensive considering the state of the hotel.
- 5/5
The room was great, staff very friendly and helpful, dinner in Intermission was very good.
- 5/5
Great staff & location.
- 2/5
No water for coffee maker, hard beds, only given 1 roll toulpsper, we had to get more, no maid service. Windows not sound proof, car alarms, people singing and drums playing outside on street for money kept us up all thru the night.
- 5/5
Kind staff.
- 3/5
Breakfast was a 2 hour event because the restaurant was always understaffed. On my day of check out my door cards were deactivated prior to check out so I had to take the time to go back to the front desk to reactivate my door cards so I could get my things out of my room. The staff was unprofessional and the front desk staff would be on their phones with customers waiting. The restaurant staff continually called me “Queen” which was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. The facility itself was well maintained and clean.
- 5/5
Check in was seamless once again. the hotel is becoming our preferred choice when staying in the Loop when visiting.
- 5/5
Perfect location, across the street from cta station
- 5/5
Good location
- 4/5
Some dirtiness
- 3/5
The staff seemed bothered and not very helpful.
- 5/5
This is the third time we've stayed here & love it! Great staff, clean & attractive rooms, & grateful on this visit to have early check-in after a long day travelling from Montana. I attend the Christkindlmarket preview event which is across the street from the Cambria.
- 5/5
Staff were awesome. Thank you for a great hospitality, Dave bar tender.
- 5/5
Our room was comfortable and clean. James, the doorman was friendly and very helpful in helping us find a great restaurant for breakfast and other places near the hotel. He was a big reason we had such a great stay at your hotel. The Lacey who checked us in was super friendly and helpful also!
- 5/5
Received voucher for $25 per person for breakfast. Menu prices had increased from online prices. Not many choices but accomodating. My husband had the farmer breakfast which was more than he could eat which was unusual. I had an egg and cheese croissant with fruit which was quite good. The bill was $58 which I thought was a little much but that is Chicago I suppose. The room was clean and accomodating. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We liked that it was right next door to the theatre. Would be happy to stay there again .
- 5/5
We did not have breakfast at the hotel
- 5/5
Great location, very friendly staff, very clean. The room took a bit to get warm but eventually it was perfect.
- 1/5
When I checked in the room I had 30 minutes to dress and leave for an event. When I returned late my family and notice the room was very cold. I called the operator explained that the thermostat was not working at all. She said it must be broken and it was too late to switch rooms it was after midnight so, I asked for 4 blankets. When I checked out I explained everything, she apologized and offered half my money back but because it was done online I needed to contact them and she would put in notes. When I tried to get half my money back I was told the notes said I would get a refund of $22.38 so the lady li d to me.
- 3/5
The room was fine overall considering we only really showered and slept there. However, the bathroom was not to our liking. The shower does not have a door or curtain for a part of it, a lot of water gets everywhere after you shower. The worst part is that the water either felt like it burned your skin or a cold plunge, no perfect in between unfortunately. Additionally, whenever you turn on the lights in the bathroom, it turns on the vent and it can be a little noisy. The room would also be either very very cold or very warm which made it a bit hard to fall asleep. However, the hotel itself is in a prime location and is definitely worth it if you don’t mind the bathroom situation.
- 5/5
Amazing stay, room was spotless and staff were very helpful & kind.
- 5/5
The people at the front desk were extremely cordial, room was clean/roomy, great view from my window, server in restaurant was so nice, polite, food was good, close to shops/restaurants/events. Definitely recommend!

Booked a standard King room, room has two double beds. Not what we booked/paid for
- 5/5
Perfect location.
- 5/5
Beautiful room and hotel. Very clean.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly, but we had no wash cloths, hair dryer, or local channels on tv. Plus, the refrigerator was not working because of ice built up inside. Otherwise, great location and nice bar.
- 5/5
Clean room, breakfast was good
- 4/5
Food was fine. Wish there were option of some vegetables. A bit pricey when compared to restaurants around that area Staff were nice helpful and patient
- 3/5
Misleading online info. No valet, breakfast not included (they have a restaurant you can buy food from, not a breakfast amenity), no dresser in the room, hole in the wall location.
- 5/5

all of the above

It was fine. Good location
- 4/5
Clean room good location
- 5/5
This hotel was a perfect location. Close to the train, theatres and restaurants.
- 4/5
Room needs better lighting and larger/more trash cans.
- 3/5
The room was very clean and bed comfortable. The condition of the building has really deteriorated from my stay a few years ago. Stains on carpeting and damaged walls really deter from a high quality hotel. The price is comparable to other chains without the value. I had recommended a booking for family members and had to apologize for my selection.
- 4/5
The train to and from O’Hare is just across the street located under the mall. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay.
- 4/5
Okay. The hotel was nice and clean. The room itself was very interesting. No clock. Half shower door. No drawers in the nightstands. Street traffic echoed (I liked it but my partner didn’t). Excellent location. Friendly staff. I'd stay here again, but maybe if it were just an overnight. We did a weekend.
- 4/5
But, the iron did not work properly and should be replaced, there was no sink stopper nor bar of soap in the soap dish. The Air conditioning would often blast cold air regardless of the temperature setting and it was on auto.
- 5/5
My first time in Chicago, super convenient with a Walgreens down the street and a quick 3 minute max walk to the Chicago Theatre. There’s shopping right across the street and if you’re taking the Blue line to the airport, the closest station is only a few minute walk.
- 5/5
Would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
Great time
- 4/5
Could have more TV channels or let you sign into smart TV. We did not have enough wash cloths. The bathroom door was off track and wouldn’t close all the way and the faucet head was loose.
- 5/5
Clean room, very helpful and friendly staff. Close to many attractions that you can walk to. Only not so good thing from our stay is that we had a handicap accessible bathtub with only half a shower curtain and the tub was very deep. I don’t like bathtubs, prefer a shower but it damper our trip. We really liked that the room was your typical square/rectangle shape. There are only five rooms on the 4th floor spaced out so you didn’t hear everyone coming and going. I appreciated the hotel was “simple” nothing fancy or over the top, which I prefer. Overall very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay there again. Future travel, I will definitely look for a Cambria hotel.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and well furnished. The bed a linens were comfortable and I had a large bathroom. A very pleasant stay.
- 3/5
Could of done a better job on cleanliness.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Clean and fresh smelling room. Start was extremely nice and the hotel was accommodating.
- 5/5
We always love our stays here. Been returning for years!
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
Very good location for everything.
- 2/5
Its Chicago parking is what it is but not being connected to the hotel and having to walk around the corner with my bags on the street I didn't like. My room was fairly decent, but my other family didn't have it so well and they will be reviewing. Shopping directly across the street was a plus and you can walk to different dining options in the area.
- 4/5
Staff was very nice
- 4/5
Excelent location, big room, we enjoy our stay, the minifridge was very small and it's location in the room make it dificult to open it. We will book again in the future because it's location.
- 5/5
Personable staff, comfortable beds, large bathrooms, close to everything - great experience!
- 5/5
The area around the property was safe and convenient. It was walking distance to the events, museums, restaurants, the river, and theaters and the train stations.
- 4/5
I had a late check-in scheduled. But my flight was delayed. I didnt arrive until 2:45am to the hotel. When I called the front desk to notify them I was here, she just said the door was locked and offered no solutions for me to come in, and hung up on me. Thankfully someone who was a hotel guest had a room key and opened the door and let me in. My room was clean and I enjoyed my stay. At check-out, I was not greeted so much as a hello. I asked for a copy of my folio, which she did get for me, but no words exchanged. I asked to have my luggage to be held for a couple hours, and the other lady working the desk (African American woman) assisted me with that.
- 5/5
It's close to everything you need to be close to.
- 5/5
Great location and clean, spacious room
- 5/5
I liked the bedding. Too comfortable. I got a good sleep after days. Also the staff is really good and respectful. Cleanliness is also at best
- 5/5
Was large. A bit loud
- 4/5
Inconvenient for late check in
- 5/5
The property is clean and comfortable. It's in a great location near multiple transit stations. We've stayed her multiple times and will continue to keep coming here.
- 3/5
Odd banging all night. Bartender rough and rushed. Entrance looks sketchy.
- 5/5
Very clean, easy check-in, friendly staff and excellent service especially Dave who worked at the lounge bar. Many thanks to the team once again.
- 5/5
I loved the location and the quietness of the rooms. I couldn't hear anyone else in the hotel. The rooms were designed beautifully. The bathroom could have 1-2 more hooks for towels, but overall - great!
- 5/5
Love the room
- 5/5
The only suggestion that we have is better communication about the parking garage location and timing. The staff was great.
- 4/5
Hotel was within walking distance to many attractions, restaurants and shopping center in Chicago.
- 5/5
Near transportation. Convenient location. Near restaurants and tourists attractions. Highly recommend.
- 4/5
Initially we said we didn't want house keeping to come to our room, but then halfway through the week we asked the front desk if they could come change sheets and bring a few towels. They said they were going to come that day, but they never did and didn't come the couple days after either. Not a huge deal, but wish we could have gotten clean sheets. The hotel overall was nice and clean. The treadmills in the gym were a little old and needed fixed. The area was nice too and was located in a part of town where we had access to lots of things to do and easy access to public transportation.

I recently stayed at the Cambria Hotel for 10 nights. The room qas good size with two queen size beds and bathtub with shower. The room had a very narrow window with a view of the street. When I first checked into my room there were food crumbs on the floor and a little sticky patch like a drop of soda. I took a picture and showed the reception and they took care of it the next day. The halls are looking a little worn. But the staff was super friendly, especially the security people. There is plently of shopping and public transportation is right around the corner. The River Walk is also close by. Parking is available at the hotel for $57 a night but I used Spot Hero to find parking for $21 just around the corner. Overall, it was a nice hotel and I would stay again.
- 4/5
4 night stay. Room was nice and clean.
- 5/5
Everything about the room was fantastic, especially the bed. My only thought is that some of the furniture/carpeting throughout the hotel could use some repair/replacement. I was sorry that I missed the show on the 14th floor. I’ll definitely be back to the Cambria on my next visit.
- 1/5
The staff were consistently rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. No one cleaned anything during my stay. Hallways were littered with trash and dirty towels for days, creating both a disgusting and unsafe environment. The carpets in common areas looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. This property is neglected, filthy, and run by a staff that has no regard for guest safety or comfort. Do yourself a favor: stay anywhere else.
- 1/5
Very unsanitary conditions. Upon checking into my room I discovered dried blood spots all over the floor. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!
- 4/5
Check in was a little difficult
- 5/5
Super nice stay! Walkable to the Chicago Theatre, cute restaurants and shopping!
- 5/5
I was only there one night..room was great..all was good!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Decor and vibe both cool, gym nice too
- 5/5
Nice and clean.
- 5/5
Staff super nice.
- 3/5
Room was clean, beds were comfortable. The Bartender was great, drinks were delicious. The problem we had was the A/C in the room was broken. And even after having the air at 65 all night woke to the room temperature being 77. Tried to get a fan from the front desk when we got back from our event but they were on a phone call and after a few minutes of not being acknowledged decided we'd just hope for the best. Would stay here again still. Clean and super convenient to the theater district.
- 5/5
Our stay was wonderful. Great experience. Clean, modern room. Double Queen beds on 4th floor near the elevator. Beds had sheets, duvet and coverlet and 4 very comfy pillows. Bathroom lighting is kind of darkish and lighted mirror isn’t really good for anything but I bring my own mirror anyway. So close to so many things and parking was easy and close too. Highly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Wonderful location for the price, all L trains were within a block. The Chicago sign was around the corner. Quiet at night. Really recommend.
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Great location and closed to various public transportation options. Located on a vibrant theater district that has plenty of dining and major shopping stores . Our room was surprisingly roomy, beds are comfortable and pillow was ok. Great bathroom towels, wish they keep track of low toiletries like refilling body wash, etc. You can definitely hear some road noise when there are some but otherwise pretty quiet at night. For me and my daughters, the hotel was a great option in terms of cost, location, security and staff friendliness. Will definitely considered when I go back to Chicago for a no frills place to stay. Also the hotel being located in the same theater was kinda cool.
- 5/5
Close to Grant Park, Michigan Avenue and the river walk
- 5/5
The best level of management that I have seen ever.
- 5/5
Loved this spot! We took the train in from the airport and it was super close to the hotel. It was convenient to a lot of spots, restaurants, shopping, bus and train lines. Staff was super sweet and accommodating!
- 5/5
Great room! Bed was clean and comfortable. Air kept room very cool. Parking was convenient and safe. Options to eat/drink close so that’s great! And you’re less than a block to the Red Line. A great location.
- 4/5
The room was clean and comfortable. Checkin was easy ad fast. There was no hair dryer in the room, which was odd. But overall, we enjoyed it.
- 3/5
One of the few hotels with two beds without having to use a roll away. Great central location. Hip trendy feel to the room. Bed very soft, but still comfortable. No drawers to unpack clothes into for a longer stay. Only one hook in the bathroom. Small fridge and microwave were nice. Several of the ice makers did not have ice. Not the fault of the hotel, but street had a lot of very loud traffic and horns honking well into the night. AC quiet and worked great.
- 2/5
Very poor customer service. Didn’t give room that we booked. Don’t allow customers to book rooms that you can’t honor. Would have gone to different hotel
- 5/5
Perfect spot to stay in downtown Chicago. The restaurant ia surprisingly really good. Get the wings & the corned beef at breakfast. Garretts popcorn right next door. Get the Chicago Mix..you’ll thank me later
- 4/5
Cambria Hotel is in a great location for the theater district of the Loop. The hotel parking garage was convenient. Very walkable to Michigan Ave. The rooms smelled very clean upon entrance. Front desk staff were kind and efficient. Quiet. Tall ceilings in room allowed for spacious feelings in 2 double suite. Did not like barn door and frosted glass for bathroom door. Not enough privacy. Could be a concern for some. Otherwise, I liked the modern decor. Friendly security at the entrance. Not super easy to get cart for luggage like other hotels. Had to load up our vehicle with luggage for six people/one week stay without one at departure. :-( Would stay again. Thanks to all staff.
- 3/5
The room was fairly clean. Unfortunately, there was no safe, and no complimentary water bottles were provided.
- 4/5
Great location! Close to the bean, and great shopping.
- 3/5
Facility is fine. Lack of amenities was not great. Person who checked us in could barely communicate- soft speaker and uninterested. She seemed stoned
- 5/5
Great property in heart of theatre district. Close to lots of L Train stops. Great staff. Clean, spacious rooms.
- 5/5
An AMC is across the street. The Chicago Theatre is right around the corner. I went to a concert at Soldier Field and walked back to the hotel. It was probably 40ish minutes. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Location and staff was excellent
- 5/5
Hotel staff was friendly and it is a great location!
- 4/5
If you are looking for a conveniently located hotel within walking distance of transportation, shopping, and Millennium Park, Cambria is a great choice.
- 5/5
The room looked just like the photos. The bed was comfortable and the staff was nice. It's located right in the middle of the theatre district and we were able to walk to almost everything we did. 10/10 recommend.
- 5/5
Clean property very close to shops and food!
- 4/5
Staff was very nice.
- 5/5
The location was perfect, directly across the street from the Red Line platform and so many options of places to eat. Everything was walking distance. Room was a little small but very clean and comfortable. You can not hear anything from other rooms.
- 3/5
The area didn't look family friendly or safe enough. We saw two people chase each other into the lobby and there was a homeless guy hovering around the place. We had to forfeit our money and book another hotel that night .
- 4/5
I would recommend this hotel. Room was comfortable, huge bathroom and shower, comfortable bed. It was very quiet (I was on the 20th floor). Staff was helpful and friendly. I wish they provided a bedside clock, and the ice machine on my floor was not working. But generally, all good, and a good value. Very convenient to everything!
- 4/5
Good location. Staff friendly
- 5/5
Very good location, clean and friendly staff
- 4/5
Happy with the stay. Its location is fantastic!
- 3/5
The room itself was pretty good, very clean, huge bathroom, comfortable bed, but walking in the entrance was unexpected. It is the lobby of a theater- you have to go to the 9th floor to check in. No windows anywhere. It’s redone, but just okay. Hallways kind of dirty, stained wallpaper etc. It just needs some sprucing up. Overall though, a comfortable stay.
- 4/5
The hotel is in a great location close to Millennium Park, the Art Institute, great restaurants, and public transportation. As with any hotel in a busy city, parking can be a bit of a hassle but there are several public garages within a short walk if you are driving or renting a car. The hotel is nice and the staff are friendly. It is a “no frills” situation though so don’t expect doormen to be available to help with your luggage (there’s usually someone who can help you get in the door if you ask) or housekeeping without asking in advance. However, if you’re looking for a good deal on a well situated hotel, I would definitely recommend it.
- 4/5
Above average hotel. You pay for the location
- 5/5
We chose this hotel based on its location in the Loop with easy access to public transit and its walkability to various sites. The hotel itself was clean and safe. There is a doorman stationed at the front. You are right downtown so although the hotel itself is quiet, expect traffic noise. There was a Keurig machine in the room, a microwave and fridge. There is also free coffee in the lobby until 9:30am everyday. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, note the mattress is a little on the soft side. The bathroom is large and the mirror has bluetooth if you wish to play music. They offer room cleaning after the 3rd night but it is available upon request. When we asked for things to be replenished, it was promptly attended to and we could request via text message which was very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Hotel is close to dining, shopping and shows in Chicago. Very convenient
- 4/5
Great location close to Millennium park and the river front. Front desk staffed with security guard 24/7. Rooms are clean but could use more attention to detail such as crumbs left on chair cushion. Beds are comfortable. I like how sheets and bed coverings are all white so you can tell if there is any stains, dirt, etc. Rooms are not serviced by housekeeping unless you ask. They have a text feature to communicate with housekeeping. Parking ramp is around the corner and has security feature to access. Hotel will text you QR code to get into ramp and to scan if you go in and out. Would highly recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Great room, great staff. I wish the had daily housekeeping but it was only by request.
- 5/5
Great location. We walked everywhere..
- 5/5
Convenient location in downtown Chicago Theater District. Check in fast and courteous front desk person.
- 4/5
Great location. Very nice, clean, modern room. Surprisingly, no room safe - very unusual for a major city centre hotel, which is a big negative (had to put things in the hotel safe). Helpful staff. Basic bar and food.

Location was great access all the public transit options, walking distance to so many different restaurants. Free coffee for guests by the front desk lobby each morning. Housekeeping was awful, very inconsistent my entire stay. Guests in rooms next to me were too loud some nights, playing loud music and yelling. That was well past midnight. For the prices they are charging and what you're actually getting doesn't add up. What you're paying for at this hotel, more than anything else, is the prime downtown location

It was convenient to downtown. The furniture and so on in the room was worn. Ok if I’d been at a Motel 6. Not ok for a $1,200 room.

Not great. Dirty. No hand soap or body wash in room and the towels even looked dirty. There were also those silver small slug-looking bugs in the bathroom and by the window. Wiped floor with towel and dirt was all over towel.

The room was beautiful, but the walk in shower with no door was weird, and the property was extremely noisy from street noise such as cars and emergency vehicles.

The design & layout of the room was nice. However, the floors looked like they weren’t swept or mopped. There were hair strands everywhere.

Great property, stayed here several times. Clean, comfortable bedding etc. Only downside is the in house bar/restaurant, lack of food and drinks and service wasn’t great, but there are several restaurants nearby. I would stay there again!

The hotel was overall clean. However, the check-in and check-out staff could be more friendly. I felt like I owed them a million dollars, even after paying for my stay. Their poker faces were off-putting, and it made me question if they understand the hospitality industry. If they don't enjoy interacting with people, this isn't the right job for them. In contrast, the door staff were very friendly. The ladies at check-in and check-out should receive additional training before entering their position.

Great staff, location is good for public transportation. However, location is incredibly noisy even at night with honking and sirens.

nice location

The room I ordered was a king bed room, but the bed was not a king. It was larger than a queen but smaller than a king, not sure what size it was. Housekeeping only came to provide new towels and never made the bed or anything else. There are little amenities in this hotel and it was extremely overpriced for what you got. Shower is also very small.

Location is super central, lots of dining locations, close to public transport. Room was clean and great whilst still at an affordable price.

This was my first time in Chicago, i loved that the hotel was very near many of the siteseeing options, dining, and shopping. Everything was very walkable and if not the public transportation was very easily accessible
