Accommodating staff, well-stocked mini bar, it’s a great place!

Great location to take in the sites of Chicago! Bar staff were great! Confusion around getting my room cleaned and when the “do not disturb” sign was or wasn’t on the door preventing cleaning. But if they ever get that sorted out, they’ll be great!

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, and it was amazing. The Millennium room view doesn't disappoint, and the room was amazing! The hotel is located in the center of anything you'd want to do or see in Chicago, being just a few blocks south of the Architecture River Tour, and across the intersection from Millennium Park and Cloud Gate/The Bean. If you're unsure where to stay, you have my word that this hotel is the one for you!

The location was perfect. Could have used a regular coffee maker. Like a big cup in bed.the velvet settee looked a little dirty and there were a couple of drip spots on the floor but the bathroom was very clean so not a big worry.

I couldn’t have been happier with my stay. Check in was easy and personal. The room was clean and complete with all necessary amenities. Housekeeping serviced the room without needing to ask. Room service was available. The room view was suburb. I highly recommend this hotel and location.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Stay at Alro Chicago I had an excellent experience at Alro Chicago and would absolutely stay here again. The hotel was incredibly clean, modern, and well-maintained from the lobby to the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and the location made it easy to explore the city. One of my favorite parts was the food. The restaurants were fantastic, and it was so convenient to have great dining options right in the hotel. Everything I tried was delicious, and the overall atmosphere felt upscale without being pretentious. I honestly don't have any major complaints. The only thing future guests should know is that the bathroom setup may be a little different from a traditional hotel bathroom. It's modern and functional, but it might take some getting used to if you're expecting a more standard layout. None.

My husband and I stayed at the Arlo for 2 nights. The property was fresh and modern. The first thing I noticed was the aroma of the lobby right as we walked in the doors from the street. Check in was easy, and we paid the offered $25 for early check in around 10:30 am, which we believed was so worth it. Our room was a bit on the smaller side and the view from our room was the city, with a corner of it being Millennium Park. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Arlo. It was perfect for our needs. It was conveniently located just minutes walking to the Park and the river walk.

Hotel staff was excellent. Very friendly, professional, went above and beyond. ALK restaurant is not good. Very understaffed, 2 servers and a cook running brunch. Don't get the fried gnocchi with truffle cream. Absolutely terrible.

We would definitely stay here again. The location is great so much to do within walking distance. Having so many great places to eat in the area we weren't able to visit the downstairs bar/restaurant, but I heard great reviews from friends about their food and service. The room was very nice and clean. Housekeeping came quickly with extra towels when requested. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately I don't remember everyone's names. I do remember Antoine who helped us with our bags and storing them before our check in. He was Top Notch, very friendly and went out of his way to even help us with our luggage into the Uber on the way out.

The room was great and the food was even better! I would say the only thing that bugged me was the ringing that was coming from the alarm clock in the room (but very minor). Overall looking forward to staying here again!

Parking was a nightmare, having to walk with my luggage, but that was on me for not checking prior to my stay, I probably wouldn’t stay here again just for that. Everything else was amazing I just hated having to carry my luggage especially since I got there later in the evening.

Everything was amazing

The hotel is very nice. The rooms are nice. The beds are really comfortable! My only complaint was that our AC didn’t seem to work that well. And we had no Kleenex, only one make up wipe, and only one roll of toilet paper. I requested more and it never came. And the people we were with had the same issue. They ran out of toilet paper, and shampoo. We were only there for two nights… so overall it was great for what we were looking for! Oh.. and another nice thing is they give you are $20 per day credit off parking in the parking garage about a block away. I’d stay here again! If you’re looking for a downtown Chicago experience you can’t get much better than this!

The restaurant is ok. Food was decent but felt a little overpriced. The restaurant is the one area where expectations and reality didn’t quite line up — food was decent but felt a little overpriced. Got a Caesar with steak that was over $30 but subpar. Restaurant service was great however. Will definitely continue to stay here.

We had a very nice stay at the Arlo Chicago. The hotel was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the first moment. We felt very welcome when we arrived. A special thank you to Ali and Antoine from the front office team for their kindness and support during our visit. We are very happy with our experience and would definitely come back again. We highly recommend this hotel and really enjoyed our time here.

We arrived from a morning train. The concierge greeted and stored our bags so we could take in the sights. We returned midafternoon and were allowed an early check-in and the valet had already moved our bags to the room. Checkout was the same. We really thought the service was great! The location was excellent as well. Cloud Gate was a couple minutes walk. Shopping and museums were short walks or uber rides. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Overall a great stay!

Brilliant location. Easy to find. Fairly reasonable priced car park near by. Clean and tidy hotel. Staff were nice. Having to pay for all the extras. Looking at a mini fridge thats full but having to pay extra! When the hotel is pricey enough anyway.

The road was not super large, but actually turned out perfect for what we needed. Stylish decor. Great large shower! Soft bedding. The staff was outstanding! So helpful with all of our questions and needs about Chicago!

The rooms are clean and modern. They have good amenities. The rooms are smaller than they look in the photos. It is near a fire station in the city so there is a lot of ambient noise.

I saw the Arlo hotel on TikTok I solo travel at least four times a year. Chicago was my first trip of the year. My thought walking into the hotel. I saw the beautiful bookshelf and the Photo Booth, which everybody need to experience before you leave for memories ! walking to the front desk, the hotel staff that was very accommodating and very nice and I enjoyed the can water that they gave me. I know something small, but it was really nice been trying to find it since I get home lol . And I really appreciate the deposit because it was so cheap because some hotels in that location charged by the day and I love the day do not extort their customers or their travelers for deposits and all the different surcharges. Also, I met the staff in the restaurant;Idk if he’s the manager of the supervisor. I do not remember his name he was black guy bald guy with square glasses (I’m Woman writing this fyi) , but he was so sweet to me and he gave me pointers on where to go .he was a 10 out of 10 experience even with some of the local residence being rude. he was one of the headlights on my trip. I stayed on the 16th floor had a view of the bean and also across from the Nutella store and Garrett popcorn. The view was literally beautiful and walking distance of everything and close to every restaurant and if you needed something in a hurry, there was a CVS literally across the street. I wasn’t far from all of the tour attractions that were there which was 10 out of 10 and literally 9 minute walking distance from the architectural boat tour and when I come back to Chicago, I will be staying at the Arlo. Until next time Chi City ♥️ It’s not a dislike, but it’s a FYI type of situation. The rooms are very small but it’s for solo travelers or it could be for a very intimate setting so just keep that in mind.

Great location, easy alley access for luggage drop. Breakfast was very good. Staff pleasant. Confusion with a bill charge was annoying but remedied after a couple attempts. That slightly soured an overall excellent stay.

The room had comfortable bedding and high-quality amenities that made it easy to relax and unwind. The hotel in general has this amazing smell, like a high end department store. The hotel’s location was perfect on Michigan Ave. Centrally located to all major attractions. We were able to walk to shopping, bars, and restaurants. What truly set this stay apart was the service. Every staff member, especially Brit that we interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help. Their hospitality made the experience memorable and stress-free. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and exceptional service.

Check-In was very easy and staff was able to hold our bags before our room was ready. Beds were comfy and the partial view of the park was nice. The room was clean, everything worked, location was amazing, and robes were nice. Controlling the temp of the room was easy and the blackout and privacy shades were convenient. Honestly there wasn't anything that bothered me. The wi-fi got spotty, but I didn't need it for work.

The restaurant had a delicious, upscale menu, but we did not find it very child-friendly. If you charge your meal to your room in the restaurant, you can receive a discount. Even though the cafe on-site offers the same pastry as the restaurant, you do not receive a discount there. Parking is very easy, and the hotel offers a much better deal, including in/out privileges. Do not use a third-party app to book.

I enjoyed this hotel, the location was excellent. It is close to Grant Park North parking garage, bus stop is in front of hotel (but we did not use). It was easy to walk to most locations if you are good with a easy 10-20 minute walk. I appreciated the water on arrival, refill stations at the gym, the full size hand soap bottle and location. I did not appreciate the shower head, which was absolutely the worst part of the stay. You could not get enough force to wash your hair, as it was more of a trickle. Was hard to get soap off as well but did appreciate the full size body wash, shampoo and conditioner in pump bottles. Overall, a great stay, and a nice happy hour selection.

Staff are not the friendliest that’s for sure. They charge you extra on top of your hotel price and deposit for the area you are in. You can’t ask for extra items from the front desk as you have to order and wait and sometimes it takes hours for clean glasses or towels.

Cleanliness, shower looked like it had not been cleaned. Extremely noisy above street. Late arrival at 1am, sleep at 2:30; I asked for a late checkout, and put the do not disturb sign on my door and housekeeping still knocked at 830 am to try to clean my room. Disappointing all around. Would not stay again.

Good breakfast from the onsite restaurant. There’s also coffee, donuts and bubble tea cafes right across Michigan ave. Close to the art institute, the orange and red lines, and more I am sure. Highly recommend the Arlo for your stay in downtown Chicago.

The hotel is ok, the noise level is quite loud especially when the doors slam shut. It would be great if there was a way to blunt the noise. The elevators should also be wiped down as the smudges look dirty. The pillows are all synthetic & I found them really uncomfortable. The bed is fine. The staff was friendly & check in / out was fast & easy. The location is convenient & the neighborhood is safe & walkable. I did not login to the internet or use the gym.

The staff were nice. The hotel is in a great area with a great view. The room was small and the water pressure in the shower isn’t great. In addition, I would say that it is not the most clean seeing as though upon arrival there was multiple hair strands noted in the shower.

The restaurant they had in the hotel was bad. Overpriced food and overpriced drinks. Parking was half a mile away but had to pay $120. Got charged $89 for urban fee that they acted like I should’ve known about. Room felt congested whole time there and no overhead fan. Half and half that came with room was super expired. 0/10 would not stay again.

Staff members are shady!!! My item was stolen at this point ! No one from the Arlo hotel has yet to reach out to me In regards to this matter. I’ve been trying to get some type of communications since Sunday. I was told I will get a call back from staff member Holden. Who is more concerned about people giving them a high score versus actually assisting and helping customers.

The only downside was some morning noise (possibly from a neighboring room or the service elevator nearby) that woke us up, but it wasn’t a major issue. We’d definitely stay again!

Room was clean but the soap dispenser at the sync and in shower were not working as it supposed to.

Hotel was very clean and all staff were great. Loved the water station on the 2nd floor. Great location downtown. Only thing that I disliked was that our key cards stopped working before our check out time. You have to use the key card to use the elevator and get into your room.

The hotel staff was amazing and very jind and courteous when we checked in. I wish I remembered the name of rhe gentleman who helped us with directions as we were new to the train system. I wanted to give him a shoutout. Our room was also very clean and comfortable! I would definitely stay here again!

My favorite place to stay in Chicago. The rooms are fantastic - extremely comfortable beds, high-end amenities (posh toiletries, in-room espresso maker, in-room yoga workouts), and great views of the city. The staff are helpful, friendly, and always make me feel welcome. The location is perfect - easy walking distance from museums, my favorite restaurants, shopping, and the train. The building is very clean, safe, and secure (keycard access only after 9:30 PM). As a solo female traveler, I cannot recommend Arlo Chicago enough.

My biggest sound complaint is the lack of sound proofing through the rooms. We were able to hear neighbors conversations in all directions. Also, we were woken up by the sound of neighbors opening their window curtains everyday. The room was smaller than it looked in the pictures online. The bedsheets were full of static and my partner had horrible sleep due to being shocked all night. Overall, we are disappointed by our stay at Arlo and it was not worth the price.

This hotels location is perfect. We parked the car and were able to walk easily to everything we wanted to see: Millenium Park and Magnificent Mile shops. Being downtown - expect city noises all night, but that’s going to be anywhere you stay. Right across the street from coffee and donuts / breakfast in the morning and the authentic Mexican restaurant around the corner was delicious. Take note the king size room is small - just enough to walk around the bed and the bathroom is a sliding barn door. Doesn’t close for extra privacy but the bathroom is a good size. We stayed two nights and it was fine for that. If we go back to stay longer would probably look at another hotel with more space.

I was disappointed with my first room—it faced a flat wall with no natural view, which felt very claustrophobic. I had to go down to reception to request a different room. Thankfully, the staff were understanding and helped reassign me. I wish I hadn’t been placed in that room to begin with.

Clean, nice, good location.

Rooms were very clean and supplied with plenty of soap and towels. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and nice. Parking is not on site and can get a bit pricy but there are garage options within a couple of blocks from the hotel. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but we ate at some excellent places that were close by within walking distance. The location is great in the heart of downtown and very close to lots of things to do. We were in town for Kamala’s book tour and we were able to easily walk to Auditorium Theater from the hotel.

We loved the atmosphere, style and the location. The beds are super comfortable, the room large and the bathroom was really great. The only issue we had was with food quality in the dining room and though our room service breakfast was tasty, it was served as take out- no coffee pot or plates. Hopefully they will change this as they get more established.

The Arlo Hotel treats everyone like they are special and important. It's a must-try for business, personal, or romantic getaways. The city view is amazing.

Valet is outsourced. It took almost an hour to get our car. When our car finally got there, the valet took the keys with him.

It isn't mentioned that they only offer valet parking at $76 a night. The location is difficult to find, the roads are tore up and the water and sewer lines are lifted above the roads. The valet is down a narrow back alley that is hard to locate I waited 10 minutes for valet and finally went to find someone and was told valet was on a break so I had to continue waiting. Ended up leaving and finding somewhere else.

Our stay at Arlo was perfect for our girls trip getaway. The hotel is conveniently located right across from Millennium Park & all the Chicago must do’s, we never needed a car to get anywhere we went. The bar/restaurant was an excellent addition for late night drinks & snacks. Our room was clean & housekeeping was exceptional.

Based on the other reviews and comments, I think it's worth springing for the upper floors, where there's a gorgeous view north towards the Wrigley Building ahd John Hancock Tower and south over the lake and Millennium Park. The small room feels considerably larger and more commanding with that view; I had to work for an hour or two one afternoon, and that made the room far more relaxed. The only mild suggestion I'd have is that because the room is small, considering removing the minibar fridge, which is awkwardly placed, and replacing that space with a slightly larger nightstand that can accommodate a CPAP, book, phone, and charger would be helpful. But overall this is a really pleasant hotel and a great place to stay in the city.

Had an important meeting and was expecting the restaurant to be open on time at 7:00am…it opened at 7:20….very convenient place…one staff could have been nicer and more welcoming…felt like a burden when we checked in

Arlo Chicago was great for me doing a solo trip to Chicago. Very well situated in the downtown area with easy access to trains. A lot of interesting things to do and see within walking distance. Only issue was that I was on the second floor facing the Michigan Ave side and it was pretty noisy with all of the traffic and night life outside. Obviously not something the hotel can control but worth mentioning.

Great location, clean and friendly service. Rooms are reasonable size for a city hotel, but are fairly small (totally fine for my purposes, just FYI for families, etc). This was my first time in an Arlo hotel and will definitely add it to the rotation.

Was a great and cute little hotel in a historic building. Loved the back alley entrance for uber and taxis drops offs. Room had a great view and staff was great. Bed was very comfortable and good pillows. Only 2 complaints: First, the honking outside on the street was excessive. Not 2 minutes would go by without a horn or siren and it was very clear in the room we had on the 17th floor. Second, the mini bar prices were pretty high, so we ended up just buying from the walgreens that is a 5 minute walk away.

Everything is perfect except for the staff at the front desk. We checked in and no one greeted us. Staff at the front desk always just chatting and does not greet any customers walking in. We observed this the entire 7 days of stay and this is not an isolated situation. Although I really loved the staff at the ALK and Ms. Betty.

The hotel has just been remodeled and was pristine. It has a very friendly restaurant and bar in the lobby, very convenient. The location is perfect if you enjoy walking to places...the park(across the street), river, navy pier and lake are all 20 mins away. If you enjoy shopping, Michigan Ave has all the stores within walking distance also. I highly recommend it.

The AC in the room was sub par. Never got below 73. The mattress pad was waterproof/plastic so it was very hot and noisy. The water pressure in the shower was very high, almost ripped your face off. Great location. View of a building 5 ft from the window. Clean. Would not stay here again.

iwas surprised it was so close to the lakefront and the Bean etc... also many restaurants to choose from.

Everything was great except that the room was hot and even if we changed the temperature so that the room can be cooler but it didn’t change. Sweating all night wasn’t cool.

Everything was up to standard and the staff were gracious. I will continue to stay there for my business trips to Chicago.

For $250 a night on a weeknight, they do not even provide free parking. When I was told that it would cost me $40 for parking anytime I drove anywhere in my car, I told them that I wanted to stay at a different hotel. They declined my request for even a partial a refund even though I had not even entered the room and had no intent to stay there. Definitely do not recommend.
