Guests generally enjoyed their stay at the hotel, appreciating its convenient location and friendly staff. The hotel's lobby, live music, and bar area were also highlighted as positives. However, several guests expressed dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of the rooms and some aspects of the service.

Just an average hotel
- 5/5
Very great hotel
- 4/5
Very clean and felt new. Would have liked a microwave in the room and also a shelf in the shower. Otherwise great.
- 5/5
Room was nice. A little on the pricey side for a regular sized room. No complaints. Nice area to stay in.
- 5/5
Rooms were very nice, spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bar area was a nice place to grab a drink. Loved the location of the hotel. We could walk to any attractions. It was noisy in the lobby at times so it was hard to talk to staff or when we sat down to have a drink. The room we had did not have a great view, looked down to a roof top full of garbage.

Disappointing

I’m going to start with the positive side. The receptionist girl when I got there was super nice and friendly, pool was nice and close to everything. Besides that I won’t stay here again for many reasons.First, the room I booked was not the one in the pictures online the one I choose have like 3 big windows with a nice view and this one only one, rooms are really small and no closet at all just something really small to hang stuff. Second, if you try to talk to the front desk you have to scan an QR and then take you to someone that give you just the basic info and AI , and then you have to download an app, which I didn’t like that ; if you try to use the phone it won’t connected you with the front desk I had to google the number and call from my cellphone. And Third, if you want to sleep later than 8:00 am this is not your place , the housekeeping lady was slamming the door many times next room around 7:20 am making excessive noise, I understand that she needs to do her job but this is the first place that it was way too much noise than after an hour I had to call the front desk so they can send someone and they did right away and he said something to her but it was a big mistake because after 15 min she makes the double of noise slamming doors and dropping stuff on the floor and talking really loud , she didn’t care at all to have some respect for the people sleeping at 8:00am just think about if you have little ones. I do not recommend this place at all.

Great hotel with a prime location! Rooms are clean, staff is super friendly and the lobby/common area is really cool! A bar, a DJ and a pool table? Count me in! Definitely recommend staying here
- 5/5
The saty was amazing! Everything about the hotel was awesome. Breakfast was a bit confusing in how it worked but we never really spent much time on the breakfast as we just went out and about and got breakfast.
- 5/5
Very close to where my daughter lives, so very convenient for visits. In a spot where most everything downtown is easily walkable.

Nice hotel. I’ve been to Chicago many times, but this was my first stay at Aloft Hotel. It was a very pleasant experience The staff were friendly, the room was great, and everything was comfortable. I would definitely book again!

It was great it was nice inside

Loved the location! Easy to get to, even easier to get checked in and out! Every staff member I encountered was kind and helpful! The things we loved the most was the complimentary coffee, the hot breakfast was delicious, and the snack area had soooo many snacks! Tons of variety for everyone! The shower was incredible, and I wasn’t expecting a hairdryer and iron, but we truly had everything we needed. Our view of downtown Chicago from our room was to die for, and it was so nice to be able to actually crack the window and take in the sounds of the city below! It was even super easy to get food delivered. The room was also kept very cool, and the bed was very comfortable! It was a treat just lounging around! Thank you for our great stay!

Clean room
- 3/5
We were given ONLY ONE small bottle of complimentary water even though we were a couple. ONLY ONE bottle for the FOUR DAYS that we stayed!! When we asked for additional water they said that they did not have a delivery yet and so we had to buy water for the next three days. At check out - we were not provided an itemized list of items we had charged to the room. Overall experience was just okay and we probably will not return.
- 3/5
The staff was great. Check in/front desk very accommodating.
- 5/5
Great Veiw, friendly staff, we loved the rooms asthetic. Would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
Decent hotel for the price
- 3/5
The hotel itself was nice, located in a great area for walking the streets of downtown Chicago. So many nearby restaurants and shops. The only negative during my stay was the front desk receptionist. I could definitely tell they would like to be anywhere but there. Definitely not welcoming!
- 5/5
The room was clean. The location was terrific. I would recommend anyone stay at this hotel.
- 3/5
Everything was good with the hotel, But the white front desk guy was making fun of my accent :) the middle eastern guy was rude and had an attitude , the black lady was very nice and helpfull ! Thank you.
- 3/5
The room was ok. There were no bags on the trash can, no microwave. The breakfast was not what I expect it to be. You have to order on line then you pick up. It was not a buffet where you get to pick as much food as you want and sit down to eat like other hotels. The pool was so small that you could barely do anything if people were there and the water was so cold. The only thing nice I could say is that the staff was great and very helpful.
- 3/5
Staff was helpful but looked annoyed most of the time. They did help explain deposit charge process & helped me with a package drop off while staying. Lobby market food was overpriced and underwhelming. No breakfast provided but coffee/tea offering was okay until to get you started for the day. Housekeeping was amazing and super efficient.
- 5/5
I liked everything about this hotel
- 2/5
We did not get the room we requested. They gave a replacement room but it was not cleaned. There was dirt towels on the floor and trash at the front. We came back down and they gave us a new room with small beds. Overall was disappointment with the service and cleanliness of the establishment. We received two drink vouchers for the inconvenience which we didn’t not use and when checking out we asked if they could be exchanged for a credit and they said that was not an option. This booking was for my wife and I’s two year wedding anniversary and overall was very disappointed.
- 2/5
check in was horrible
- 5/5
The hotel is in a great location, and it's clean with wonderful staff and nice rooms. The free coffee and water were also much appreciated. It would be nice to have a few more breakfast options and perhaps a greater selection of snacks that are gluten and dairy-free. But overall, it was a great stay for the price!
- 2/5
The overall cost wasn’t a value, but instead we paid more than what we received. I am shocked it is a Marriott property and won’t make plans to stay with Aloft again.
- 5/5
Valet parking was easy and worth the extra money to be able to take your car in and out of it a few times during your stay. Hotel room had great views on the 18th floor with tall ceilings. Room was clean and had everything I needed and lots of space. The bathroom barn door style was sticking at one point and maintenance came immediately to fix it. Friendly staff. Comfy beds great location to shopping, river walk, parks, Navy Pier. no complaints.
- 1/5
The parking around isn’t that great definitely get valet
- 5/5
Great staff. Great location
- 3/5
There needs to be better clarification from staff regarding the $100 charge when valeting your car.
- 5/5
We traveled with our pet and the experience in the hotel was very pleasant
- 4/5
The parking was ok for me,I did valet parking
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay.

The hotel it’s well centralized with plenty to eat and do around the neighborhood.

I’ve gone here a few times, the place is always spotless and love the deco and it’s

- 5/5
The entire experience was great! Well except parking.
- 5/5
I’ve stayed here multiple times now, and find the staff friendly. I like that you can’t get to your floor without a key, and more importantly they are pet friendly!
- 4/5
It was a fine experience.
- 5/5
Lots to do
- 5/5
Nice property downtown
- 5/5
Clean room | Nice staff .
- 5/5
Nice place to stay
- 4/5
Only suggestion for improvement was low water pressure in the bathroom sink.
- 4/5
The valet staff was amazing. They help us unload and load are bags. Did not like going to 19th floor for ice. Need a microwave and bigger fridge in room.
- 5/5
Hotel was great location. Staff was friendly!
- 5/5
This hotel is across the street from Lavin Pavilion of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a variety of restaurants close by. My corner room was large, comfortable and quiet. Room 610 has 2 very comfortable queen beds. No closet but there is hanging space and 4 drawers and shelving. There is a coffee machine and free water bottles though Chicago tap water is safe to drink. A safe for valuables is in the room. The bathroom had one sink with a large countertop. No other storage available. The walk-in shower is large and has Dry Bar shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Floor to ceiling windows face east and south toward the buildings next door in the alleyway. The view is of the building mechanics on the rooftop. Be aware that workmen will occasionally be on the roof and they can see into the room. All the windows have blackout shades and only one window has a light filtering shade. Because there is not enough lighting in the room, it can be quite dark unless all the shades are open. Staff are professional and pleasant and accommodating except for the surly clerk during check-in.
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and the room was spacious. Great location.
- 2/5
It was clean but traveled awhile to get there. I don’t have a ton of money but wanted to give my son a fun weekend. The staff was pretty rude. He spilt a cup of water while we were checking in and I offered to clean it up but staff was really irritated. Then when I asked if we could check in early the receptionist said “absolutely not”. There were a few other instances where staff was pretty rude too. But overall it was really clean and great location.
- 5/5
Room was clean and nice
- 1/5
Worst hotel I've ever stayed in all around.
- 4/5
Comfy beds. My teenage son did not like that the sliding bathroom door did not lock lol Disappointed that the pool was closed for maintenance :(
- 4/5
Clean room. Staff was not rude, but not friendly, with the exception of the valet- they were very friendly. Beds were not particularly comfortable, but slept fine. Nothing exceptional. No extras that wowed me. I'll spring for the Omni next visit, but for a quick one night stay, it was just fine.
- 5/5
Lobby was a nice place to have coffee in the morning and play pool in the evening
- 2/5
There were differences with the check-in process that wasn’t ideal, nor was it clear and consistent with other guest or on the website that we weren’t pleased with. Such as, we were going to be charged $50 to check in early even though we were told our room was available. Additionally, our bathroom door kept breaking and locking whomever inside, inside the bathroom till maintenance came to fix it. They fixed it on the first day, day two we were able to work around it enough to get it to not lock us inside though we kept mentioning it to staff. The AC was better off not working in general. It would kick on and then immediately kick off again. That too was mentioned to maintenance when they came to fix the bathroom door. We were told it was detected on motion which does nothing for when we’re sleeping. I’ve stayed at Alofts around the country before and this was the first time that I’ve had issues with them. Probably won’t be back at this specific location unfortunately.

- 5/5
Overall stay was excellent. Coffee always available in the morning. You could order your breakfast meal at reasonable prices, and it was prepared quickly and efficiently. Ambience is fun and hip! Easy walking to the train station and major attractions in downtown Chicago. Close to Whole Foods!
- 5/5
Parking was awesome
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. The restraint and bartenders were good.
- 5/5
This location was beyond amazing me and my kids enjoyed our weekend trip and we will definitely stay again. My son absolutely loved the gym they also have games for families and Sunday it was a dj there. This was definitely 5 star and valet parking was amazing they was very prompt. Nice location close to everything and nice restaurants in walking distance. This a a very kid friendly hotel
- 5/5
Nice modern clean hotel with great spacious rooms. I’ve stayed at many Alford, this is the best one
- 4/5
Not impressed with the Aloft. It was ok but for the price I expected a better room. It was just a hotel room.
- 3/5
Room condition: The pillows were extremely flat and uncomfortable. There was a small hole in the wall near the bed, the paint on the white walls was visibly dirty, and a wall decal was peeling off. These are cosmetic issues, but they affect the overall feel of the room. Cleanliness: The bathroom floor was not clean and had a strong urine odor — this is unacceptable and needs immediate attention. Value for money: We paid an early arrival fee and an additional city fee, which made the experience feel even more disappointing given the condition of the room. To top it off, we were given a rooftop-view room that overlooked a dirty rooftop — not what you’d expect after paying extra. I hope this review helps future guests make an informed decision. I’m sharing this experience in the spirit of complete honesty.
- 5/5
Just wish the breakfast had a more variety. But other than that. Great hotel
- 5/5
Will be back great location
- 5/5
The gym area was great! Loved the bar as well great staff! Room service were super sweet and always on time!
- 5/5
The design of the property and location is great!
- 3/5
The hotel is conveniently located and has a great bar
- 3/5
Upon arrival I was super excited for my stay. I was trying out a new hotel for my birthday getaway. Once checked in I had to switch rooms because it was dirty, (bed was not made, mattress was stained, curtains were stained) damp and hot in the room. It felt as though the someone had just got out the shower. I called and requested a new room, thinking I would get a similar room to the one I requested. Once moved, it was moved to a smaller room with less of a view than I booked. I booked a room with city view. So that was disappointing. In the new room it still was not the cleanest. Surfaces were dirty and dusty. I took it upon myself to clean and sanitize the surfaces to my liking. I had to use my own phone to call the hotel because the phone in the room did not work. When I called to ask for fresh linen, I was told they don’t have extra sheets. Then I was delivered a fitted sheet that did not fit the bed. I made due with the two flat sheets they gave and used my own blankets from home to get comfortable. After being frustrated and making the room tolerable I was able to feel comfortable. It was only then I felt I could enjoy even though I was slightly disappointed. On the day of checkout I asked for a bar of soap and was told they don’t have any soap. The lobby was super nice, clean and lively. I just wish that same cleanliness translated in the rooms.
- 5/5
Very great food and staff.
- 5/5
Very clean. Staff friendly.
- 3/5
Our bathroom door was a sliding barn style. It was very poorly hung. It almost sliced my husband’s finger tips off. Staff attempted to fix it but unable. It made a terrible noise whenever being opened or closed. We complained but given no resolution or compensation.
- 3/5
No microwave, cold pool, elevators broke people got trapped we climbed so many stairs. A homeless man lived in the alley you had walk through to travel. The ceilings were just concrete with weird chalk on them the Window covering gets stuck when you use it we had to put it on track to use it. When you call on the room phone for service you talk to an automated machine for awhile,

I liked this hotel a lot. Was very comfortable and 95% clean. Just the floor looked like it needed to be vacuumed and mopped again. I would stay here again for sure!
- 3/5
Our bathroom door was a sliding door that was nearly impossible to open or close. That was very frustrating. The walls were incredibly scuffed up everywhere. The room could use a lot of updating. Breakfast was great and the staff was amazing.
- 5/5
5 Star from check in to check out!!! Beautiful hotel with an amazing staff. The pool was on the 19th floor with a city view. Our room was spacious & modern. The Bar had live music Saturday night. Plenty of public/street parking! Great location! Highly recommend!!!
- 3/5
The building is not sound-proof AT ALL. The room I was in had a door to the room next to it, and the people in that room had the TV on almost the entire night. You can hear every noise in the hallway. The doors slam very loudly. The housekeeping staff was extremely unaware that they were being so loud. I wasn’t able to join zoom meetings in the room due to the noise level, ended up going to a nearby coffee shop. People were up and down the hall til 2am the second night and you could hear every word they were saying. I am not one to complain, I understand everyone is paying to stay there - there is just no sound proofing at all inside the room. Maybe look into designated “quiet floors” or something for those needing to work, study or who have early mornings. And inform the staff, especially the housekeeping crew, how loud it is inside the rooms so they can be mindful - they may not realize it’s an issue.
- 5/5
Great Horel, located in the middle of Chicago. Everything was local and we had a great time.
- 4/5
The hotel was lovely my only complaint is that the high ceilings made it take forever for the room to get warm.
- 4/5
However, the booking process was a bit misleading. When I searched on Expedia, it indicated that breakfast was included, but this turned out to be an extra charge at checkout. I initially assumed, given it’s the USA that this would mean a buffet-style breakfast. In reality, it was limited to selecting one item from a menu. We chose the oatmeal, which was fine, but not quite what we expected based on the description. That said, the breakfast experience itself had some positives. The lady serving was super friendly and welcoming, and the coffee was very good especially the freshly brewed decaf, which isn’t always as nice as regular coffee. It was a nice touch to have two bottles of water in the room on arrival. The quilt on the bed, however, was very thin. Luckily, with two queen beds, we were able to use the cover from the other bed to stay comfortable. To be fair, we chose not to have the heating on overnight, but a thicker quilt would still have been appreciated. One tip for future guests: don’t get confused when booking an Uber or Lyft, there are two Aloft hotels in town, so it’s worth double-checking your destination. Overall, a mixed experience with some thoughtful touches, but also a few areas that could be improved. Gym was awesome !
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, staff was nice, rooms where nice and bed was comfy
- 5/5
Stayed here with my granddaughter for our Chicago fun day. The location was perfect for shopping and eating. Lots of good inexpensive parking nearby. The staff was top notch. The hotel feels updated and rooms are great with good views. Bar area is very nice also and lots of casual seating while waiting and lounging. Would definitely stay here again. Bonus for our trip was an indoor pool.
- 5/5
THEY SHOULD HAVE A BUFFET
- 3/5
Hot water in my room did not work. Spoke with the fr front

- 5/5

- 1/5
The rooms had a smell to it it wasn’t the room that wasn’t what I paid for the parking price said was included and it wasn’t which cost 130
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay.
- 4/5
Clean room.
- 5/5
Everything exceeded our expectation!!
- 5/5
Nice hotels we stayed here for 1 night with my family and really nice and affordable price !!
- 3/5
Aloft pumps the hotel and rooms with strong fragrance that gave me a constant headache and smells like they haven’t cleaned. Also, walking across the floor of my room in white socks the soles became brown by the time I reached the bed. Beds and pillows also gave me back and neck pain. Just not great.
- 5/5
Was fairly nice I'd say the only thing or things I didn't like was the extra $45 parking but if you download the app spot hero you'll be able to find cheaper parking around you and for breakfast you had to pay an extra $31 but otherwise in that the room was excellent although at first the staff said I didn't pay for a City View room but I showed them my Expedia purchase and they gave me the City View room the pool and gym were awesome The View was awesome they should add a hot tub to the pool section otherwise than that I enjoyed!
- 5/5
Everything was clean and well decorated. They even closed the pool for an hour to clean since it was spring break.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, nice views , overall a 10/10
- 5/5
Very clean rooms with lots of space, our room had a window we could open which was nice considering the weather. Super friendly and helpful staff!
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff were helpful. Note that room cleaning is every other day and ensure they leave water and enough coffee pods for your coffee maker. Location was fantastic.
- 4/5
good internet
- 5/5
Very nice room
- 1/5
Murky water & pictures are very deceiving.
- 3/5
Room was dirty and unstocked with bath towels and was clothes.
- 4/5
No hotel parking lot. Have to vale park or find your own parking on the street. Vale parking at the hotel costs $65 a day.
- 4/5
Very live hotel, nice staff and clean.
- 4/5
We pre-purchased the breakfast, but the options that they had were limited and overpriced. Everything was premade and frozen.. If we knew beforehand what was offered, we wouldn’t have purchased that.
- 5/5
Valet staff were amazing, everyone was friendly.
- 5/5
great!
- 4/5
Nice hotel
- 3/5
.
- 3/5
The location was nice and the staff was polite and helpful. However, we did request extra pillows which were approved but never delivered. The pool was not good. I called ahead to check that it was functioning and was told it was “heated and cleaned twice a day,” however it was ice cold and so murky you couldn’t see the bottom of the pool. No actual food options inside the hotel, which we knew ahead of time but also will cause us to look elsewhere to stay in the future.
- 2/5
Standard mid range hotel. Staff were very nice, especially the front desk staff. Hotel has a lot of the amenities you'd need for a family stay. Would return again.
- 5/5
Great service
- 4/5
Always enjoy staying at an Aloft. Consistently clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great value and happy to be here.
- 3/5
Not clean. Stain on shower curtain. Stains throughout room.
- 1/5
Staff is not accommodating.
- 3/5
Busy hotel, seems focused on short-term stays making it difficult for staff to stay on top of essential services. Water pressure in 1st room offered just a trickle. Great staff ultimately offered another room, but required tough negotiation not not a good intro to hotel. Public areas a bit shabby - could use a face-lift.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel and rooms smelled so clean. Breakfast was good quality! Definitely will be staying here again
- 5/5
Room was clean, as well as the common areas. I wish there was a complementary breakfast.
- 1/5
Water was not clear and when asked why they apologized they said it must because they haven’t run it for awhile, despite me paying for a view they offered to change the room for a room without a view where the water would be clean but didn’t offer a credit or refund for the difference I paid for the view
- 5/5
Room was clean, bed was extra comfortable. Room was quiet, blackout curtain was nice on mornings that we wanted to sleep in.
- 3/5
Bedsheets were definitely not clean
- 5/5
Well kept maintenance on the property rooms were very well kept and I really appreciate it and enjoy my day. I will be recommending and staying again.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 2/5
Bathroom was dirty, there was dry pee in the toilet
- 3/5
Stay on a higher floor to avoid hearing the delivery truck everyday at 6:00 AM. Also, pillows for a king bed are very small and not comfortable at all.
- 5/5
It was great!
- 5/5
Amazing hotel and pets only stay for 5 bucks !
- 4/5
The staff was friendly. The room was clean.
- 4/5
Rooms are clean. Common area was very nice. Only complaint I would say would be that the pool area was air-conditioned - Making it cold and the pool water itself was pretty cold.
- 5/5
Was great!
- 4/5
Staff were very helpful
- 5/5
Super nice, clean, prompt valet service
- 1/5
Nasty
- 5/5
good environment all around
- 5/5
Amazing staff and clean room. Loved the stay. The only thing I didnt like very slighty was no microwave but only one on the first floor.
- 4/5
The room was amazing! I loved the view from it the Chicago city . The Hotel was presented beautifully and the pool was great too! I will definitely be coming back!
- 5/5
Great!
- 3/5
The floor in the room wasn’t clean properly. There were the wrong size sheets on the bed and when we checked in there were towels missing and no soap.
- 5/5
We brought our 2 large dogs. The lobby staff were very understanding and friendly, even when the GSD decided to bark every time she entered the lobby. Great location.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean, lobby area had a nice vibe and was enjoyable to hangout in
- 3/5
The staff is sweet, the hotel needs a complete renovation. First room was dirty with stains on the shades and on the carpet. Loud noise at 1:00am in the morning, only to find out guests were evicted. Wasn't 💯 happy
- 5/5
Unique room with great ambiance. Friendly staff. Clean.

- 5/5
The room is chick and clean
- 5/5
Real nice
- 5/5
great experience start to finish
- 3/5
Room was great. Staff was great! Very nice, clean. Our only difficulty was the water pressure...barely any water would come out of the sink, and not enough pressure to even rinse our razors. Thanks for your hospitality!
- 1/5
Room cleanliness was terrible. There was hair all over the shower and a pair of dirty boxers and socks left in the room. The room was extremely hot as well like the a/c wasn’t working
- 5/5
Wonderful and friendly staff
- 1/5
Room was not well kept at all, not cleaned properly, a lot of cosmetic damage
- 4/5
Friendly staff and a large clean room. Parking in Downtown Chicago is a challenge and can be very expensive at the hotel so if you are driving plan accordingly (Spot Hero is your friend).
- 4/5
Great locatio
- 2/5
Unfortunately, the lobby and hotel floor smelled of marijuana the entire stay. Coupled with some very loud after-hours guests, we will re-think our stay next time in Chicago.
- 5/5
Every time we go to Chicago we stay here. Always a great stay
- 4/5
Room was as expected. Very basic, no microwave. There was refrigerator. The cocktail bar was a good time. I’d recommend to the average traveler. Location was good, very walkable area a quick access to train. The AC unit kept having issues and turning off. Also the outside noise is loud in the mornings.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff was great. Overall great stay. I stay here often when I visit Chicago. Always a great stay.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Nice
- 5/5
Amazing hotel and workers are really nice and people were playing music loud next door and security shut it down. 10/10 would stay again if Chicago wasn’t a 💩hole.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere!
- 5/5
Clean room, great staf

- 5/5
The best service, everything was very clean, they gave us the opportunity to enter at 10am, I am very satisfied with everything.
- 5/5
Great customer service!! Loved the room and lobby!
- 5/5
Everything was perfect, we really enjoy
- 4/5
the bathroom door did keep getting stuck closed though.
- 4/5
Doing a lot of noise and the hotel did not do anything.
- 5/5
It was a nice time. Ill be bringing my dog next time
- 3/5
Rug had stains on it. Place 4 towel sets in the room instead of three. Shower water was just warm. It would have been nice to have hot shower water.
- 3/5
The room was okay
- 5/5
Everything was awesome at this hotel. From the attention and care of the desk staff to the fabulousness of the room and valet. Really great. Happy to stay there again.
- 5/5
Clean, beautiful, staff was so kind!
- 2/5
Didnt get the room i booked
- 3/5
Window shades were dirty and very stained. Didn’t even want to pull them down due to how off putting it was so we had to sleep with the shades up the duration of our stay which had us concerned about privacy.
- 2/5
Noisy all night long due adjacent patrons and hotel not able to control the issue.
- 5/5
Clean , best staff
- 5/5
Great room and location
- 3/5
Staff was great, but all night I heard big Rap Music. Didn't sleep much. Even if I Called the Lobby, It didn't really change.
- 3/5
Phone didn’t work in room, room felt stuffy. Parking is entirely too much
- 4/5
The staff was very polite, and the rooms themselves were nice. It was just the valet parking being so expensive, but I guess it makes sense since it’s overnight.
- 5/5
I loved it
- 5/5
it was good
- 4/5
The room was clean and front desk was very nice. What I DIDN'T like was , there is no closet to Hang my clothes. No iron or ironing board. Webcould figure outvacway to call the front desk.
- 4/5
Everything was nice
- 5/5
Great customer service nice rooms
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Clean room , good customer service
- 3/5
Room was small and the people besides us were very loud that morning!
- 4/5
pleasant staff quick check-in
- 5/5
Great location and friendly staff.
- 4/5
The rug in the room was very dirty. The only reson I mentioned it is because it is a big throw rug. Very easy to roll up and take out.
- 5/5
great location great service
- 4/5
Room sizes were big, we got our flight cancelled and it was very easy to extend our stay. Great location to everything in the city. Would stay again!
- 5/5
Clean room, very friendly and helpful staff, great vibe in decor and conveniently located to most attractions!
- 5/5
Very clean!

- 1/5
Very dirty room and paid for a “premium” room. Got the 3rd floor facing an alley. Awful experience
- 5/5
The room was clean and cozy. Heat worked for those cold Chicago days. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Location was great because my friends were literally down the street in a different hotel and it’s as centrally located to our destinations.
- 4/5
It is good but if
- 5/5
clean, comfortable and cozy
- 4/5
The staff was very nice and the accommodations were great, except that the pool was closed and no one informed us until we went to use it.
- 4/5
The staff was great, and the room was nice.
- 5/5
Awesome service and clean room with a nice view thank you
- 5/5
Great vibe clean room lots of amenities
- 5/5
One of 2 elevators down. So only one available elevator and service elevator. There was frequently a line since 19 floors or more building. Didn’t get to try the pool. But it was perfectly located walking distance from most attractions. Great food across the street and less than one block away. Nice staff. Highly reccomended return for sure
- 1/5
Room smelled like cigarettes. Also blankets had old blood on them and smelled like Clorox. There was a burned stain on the sink. For being in downtown you would think it’s nice.
- 3/5
One night stay, price was affordable and reasonable. Lacking closet space, hangers, an extra trash can, and a ledge in shower. Did not love the asthetic of the raw concrete ceiling, ours had a piece of plastic (candy wrapper) attached. Not sure if that was intentional. However the cost was affordable for our quick overnight so these things were easy to overlook.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel let us check in early was really accommodating
- 4/5
Curtious staff, great location, clean rooms
- 5/5
Clean... relaxing. Pleasant. Great location. Parking nearby.

- 5/5
Great stay as always. I stay here everytime I visit Chicago and will continue to do so. Friendly staff and clean!!!
- 5/5
I didn’t eat at hotel
- 2/5
Both nights we were there we heard loud music and voices way past 1:00 am. It took repeated calls to the front desk before anyone from the hotel acted to stop the noise. We won't stay there again.
- 5/5
Great place
- 1/5
- stayed two nights , I paid through Expedia. There was no early check in so I checked in at 3. The Room was NOT CLEAN. DOG food was in the area and on the floor. Blonde/ Red hair was in the bathroom. The shower was dirty and OMG the floor was filthy!!! The room phone was not working. The AIR was not working. The HVAC system was built up with filthy. I had to open my window for fresh air. I literally went to store to buy cleaning supplies to clean their mess! Was I accommodate? NO ! It was 1 working elevator. I ask the skinny guy at the front desk with glasses about the elevator. He was just BS around as if he didn’t know about it. The line was so long just to get on it. No parking for free. No one explain parking to after the fact I paid else where to park. They don’t care at all. If I can rate it -0 I would. When ask about accommodation, the shortest person told me I had to reach out to Expedia and they will reach out to the hotel which didn’t make sense at all. I’m so glad I took pictures of the room, the vents, floor and shower. Do Not waste no money here!! Oh yes , I didn’t not receive any clean towels my 2nd day. I had to take the stairs to the front desk and ask. Which took 45 minutes to give. Remember, my room phone was not working!!
- 3/5
Room was pretty small not to much space to hang clothes up.
- 1/5
Supervisor is ghetto and unprofessional she had such a nasty attitude while addressing a concern trying to be sarcastic just rude. I see why they keep security by the check-in. I could only imagine the amount of transactions they mess up with no reason why. It's seems like everyone is trained to do something different. Be careful with valet parking they make the rules as they go which runs into discrimination issues. Be careful they will charge you for breakfast online but they don't serve it call and ask. Be careful the room type you pick out online is not a guarantee you will get it, but will still charge you for the other room type.
- 5/5
Room was clean and the hotel is very by Michigan Ave
- 5/5
Very Very nice hotel!
- 5/5
Respectful staff and clean room.
- 5/5
It was cozy and exactly like the pictures shown.
- 4/5
Everyone was super nice and rooms were clean
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel lobby bar has a great set up!
- 3/5
Aloft Mag Mile was just ok. We stayed there two nights. The beds were super average as far as comfort - same thing with the pillows. They smash down until they’re hard. The bathroom door was a slide to close door and it didn’t close all the way. You could still see inside a little. Although the shower had complimentary shampoo and body wash in pumps attached to the inside of the shower, there was no shelf in the shower to put your own travel shampoo, etc on. The ceiling was all concrete and a part of the wall was concrete - I guess they were going for some sort of industrial look but it ended up feeling like a box. It wasn’t very cozy.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful, loved the downstairs lobby, clean rooms
- 5/5
Everything was perfect, loved our time in Chicago. Thank you for the hospitality

Great manager Merica really took care of us from check in and was so accommodating, helpful when my son's arrival was delayed and I am disabled. She gave us a wonderful room and our stay was perfect to end the new year! Will keep coming back with service and staff like this! All amenities were available and included!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel! Staff was helpful! Prices for breakfast were reasonable
- 3/5
Luckily we’ve visited Chicago and have stayed in hotels downtown. Because this wasn’t’ the best experience. Upon arrival there was a disgruntled employee that was clearly intoxicated. He was behind the bar swearing and using both, racial and homophobic slurs. Whether he was fired or quit following this incident, it wasn’t the best welcome going into the Christmas holiday and left a stain on the visit.
- 1/5
Didn't get to stay
- 4/5
But all that said, we would absolutely stay again. It was a good stay at a great price.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great place, great location! Worked perfectly for our 2 day trip!
- 3/5
Hotel DJ party was a lot of fun and the hotel was good but our TV didnt work, our clock was the incorrect time and there was always a line for the elevator becauss of how slow it moved.
- 1/5
Room had bed bugs and staff lacks empathy. Wouldn’t even consider a refund. Made light of the situation and treated it like no big deal!
- 4/5
Our receptionist stole the show. Room was ready, parking advice proved perfect, and she couldn't have been any nicer or more engaged.
- 4/5
Clean room and helpful staff

On the day we left, we got our car and we found a dent. Not their fault, but I wasn't happy.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing
- 2/5
The staff where nice but room quality was awful the bathroom water kept running out the tub causing u to slip when u getting out so u gotta put a towel on the floor to not fall. And the room looks like it was not properly cleaned or fully build cause the ceiling is not fully painted and the wall was peeling. It was just bad
- 5/5
Everything was great loved it
- 5/5
Awesome place very festive..
- 5/5

Clean value and great location

Everything was perfect
- 5/5
It was nice and quiet except the sirens all night. I suggest ear plugs. The place was spacious and clean. The bathroom was nice and the shower was amazing. I felt safe and comfortable there.
- 5/5
It was an overall pleasant stay. The room was clean and the view was great. It was walking distance from the Magnificent Mile, and it was a great place to crash for the night for a nice price.

Great place to stay

I stayed here a few years ago and had such a great experience that I booked it again for a birthday trip with my husband, however, this time I was severely let down. We stayed here during a very cold week and all we wanted was to take nice, hot showers after a day of walking around in the freezing outdoors. To our dismay, the water pressure was barely more than a trickle and, on top of that, it was luke warm. We called the front desk about the issue and they sent up maintenance who said the water pressure was, “About as good as it gets” for this hotel since it’s considered “green.” He also said the temperature wasn't hot because the hotel was sold out during our stay and everyone must be using the showers. This didn’t make sense to me because the sink
- 3/5
Noise morning, garbage truck, and deliveries next-door. Couldn’t tell you what was going on in the hallway, but it sounded like custodial services was packing and moving things. On the day of our checkout, we got a knock at 8 AM because they wanted to clean the room.
- 5/5
Great choice to stay.
- 4/5
Room was clean, did not have breakfast. The room next door was extremely loud because they had a party, we understand having fun however them being loud until 2am when we especially booked a room to stay away from noise and relax, we did call the reception and nothing was done. It was hard to get any rest with that being so loud.
- 4/5
The hotel location and lobby were great. Some staff friendly others not as much. Someone broke the last cue stick midday Sat and there seemed to be no plan to replace it so guests were rolling the balls by hand which seemed silly. Room was small but efficient. Furniture not very comfortable and some very aged. I would stay again but overall needs a little maintenance.
- 5/5
People at check-in were so nice and helped me with some requests I had. This was not my first time staying at Aloft and it won’t be the last one.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, the location was excellent.
- 3/5
The flooring and shower needed tlc. The receptionist was unfriendly and seemed mad at the world.
- 5/5
Thank you place is very clean and a great place to get a good rest and relax when your on a work trip or vacation I will recommend this place to all my friends and family thank you for your service and very nice place
- 4/5
Great staff, nice amenities. Rooms are small and could use maintenance
- 3/5
The handyman isn’t handy. The toilet paper hanger on the wall is crooked so whenever you try to get some toilet paper it falls off the holder. The towel hanger is slanted and coming out the wall and when you hang a towel it falls on the floor. There is a stain on the rug that wouldn’t hurt to shampoo and the overall design isn’t great. You can hear everything from the bathroom. The toilets are so loud you can hear when your neighbors flush. I travel a lot for work. This wasnt the best.
- 4/5
Clean room, wonderful staff quite
- 5/5
Easy check in!
- 5/5
The best that I could have asked for
- 5/5
The service is the best.
- 5/5
It was nice
- 2/5
Room was not clean pillows smelled bad. Not a good stay
- 5/5
Great lobby for gathering/hangouts. Helpful staff. Rooms with adequate amount of furnishings with no extra frills. No microwave or coffeemaker in room. Bathroom "barn door" did not completely close. Darkest hotel room, at nighttime, I've ever experienced...LOVED THAT! Bring your own nightlight for the bathroom. No iron/ironing board. Ice machines only on 3rd and 19th floors but it was doable. Loved the workout room and the awesome treadmills that face outside. Great views from there and the public bathroom on that floor. Super close to Navy Pier and Michigan Ave shopping!
- 4/5
Clean room
- 4/5
The day concierge/desk staff was amazing. The evening staff was the D league for customer service.
- 3/5
Statue front desk staff didn’t seem too happy to be working. Seriously dull energy. I had a better experience with the front desk staff at Best Western.

Great location and great staff!!
- 5/5
Probably will choose this hotel every time I come to Chicago
- 3/5
Stark room design. no option for roomservice, no view and no record of the second room we had added to our online reservation contributed to a less than comfortable stay. The valet staff however was exceptionally attentive.
- 5/5
I really liked the hotel and would go back again
- 4/5
Very nice lobby and great location. Rooms are renovated and clean.
- 5/5
Very clean and staff was amazing

Friendly staff
- 3/5
The staff was friendly. The beds and pillows are very uncomfortable.
- 1/5
He tried to reason with the shift manager, but they were completely inflexible. Instead of helping a young adult traveler who had a confirmed reservation, they sent him back out onto the street at 2 AM. The 21 age policy does appear on the Expedia listing—but it’s buried at the very bottom of the page where no reasonable customer would see it during the booking process. When you book a rental car, the age policy is communicated clearly and upfront, not hidden in fine print. A policy that can completely prevent a guest from checking in should never be tucked away. But beyond the lack of transparency, what’s truly unacceptable is lack of basic humanity. My son is six months shy of turning 21. At 18, young adults can join the military and fight for this country, yet apparently they can’t check into the hotel. He begged your staff simply to let him stay the night—a room he already paid for—and instead of offering any flexibility or empathy, the only concern they expressed was that he might consume alcohol in the room.
- 3/5
Hotel smelled
- 3/5
Bare bones room. Ceiling was concrete with construction markings. Empty toiletries in the bathroom.
- 1/5
The staff is horrible and no wonder the Manger is even worse! Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.
- 5/5
We loved the location and my kids absolutely loved the pool and the design concept of the rooms!
- 5/5
Amazing, clean room, staff was super nice!
- 5/5
Cool vibe, clean room, great staff.
- 5/5
Overall, it’s a nice hotel with clean rooms and good service. However, the water pressure in both the sink and the shower was a bit low.
- 2/5
Bed was full of wet pee and had pee stains all over mattress , the smell was horrible in room 1421. On November 21, had to change rooms, and then the people next door were exceptionally loud all night next to room 1411. Security needs to patrol floors to keep hotel customers satisfied. I should absolutely be refunded for room 1421. As I had two rooms booked. It’s only right to reimburse me for this room. Thank you. Will not ever stay here again.
- 5/5
The aloft hotel was a great experience. Staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel itself was clean and nice inside. I would come here again :)
- 5/5
Great room — very beautiful.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel decorated beautifully for the Holidays. Room clean.

The location of the hotel was very convenient, and the staff was very nice. They gave me a free room upgrade. However, the bathroom sink kept stopping up, and the fridge was in the bathroom.

Everything was phenomenal with our stay. The staff went above and beyond to make our trip to Chicago a special one. I would recommend this hotel to ANYONE looking to visit the area. Looking forward to visiting again one day!
- 5/5
Everything was nice.
- 5/5
Great stay….. we arrived super early and the staff were gracious enough to afford us an early check in that we needed due to a long delayed overnight flight. Hotel was very well staffed and a comforting atmosphere in the lounge area- fireplace, bar, pool table. Would definitely recommend- location is fantastic!
- 3/5
I didn't see a breakfast offered
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was very nice! The over all staff was great!
- 5/5
Had a wonderful stay! The hotel was very comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was cozy and well-maintained. Would definitely stay here again!
- 2/5
The room was fine but the bathroom faucet had low pressure and tge hot water was acalding.
- 3/5
I felt for the price the room was average I have stayed in better hotels for half the price. I got a city view but it was blocked by a building so I was really staring at one building and I did pay extra for that room to get that experience. When I booked it said I was getting a stand up shower I prefer and I would pay extra for it and got a regular tub. The AC seemed to barely work. Staff were pretty friendly. I did like that it was pretty close to everything I needed within walking distance. It was not a terrible hotel I just don’t think it was worth the price.
- 5/5
Don’t like how the food is frozen but they charge so much money for the breakfast.
- 5/5
Staff were super friendly and very helpful We were able to leave our bags when we checked out Room was amazing , big tv and very very comfty beds Could not ask for more Bar downstairs , while small had everything you needed. Great vibe
- 5/5
I booked city view room but got 10th floor room with no view
- 5/5
Very clean n nice view
- 4/5
Great staff
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, great location.
- 5/5
The location is very good, the room was clean and more that enough, the front desk personnel is kind and professional (thanks Rich) our room was ready way before the check in time, they kept the luggage meanwhile….so, it was a 2 night stay, great experience…
- 5/5
Male staff members were nice and helpful. The full bar was great. The interior was stylish, and I loved the fireplace with its cozy atmosphere. I stayed here for 1 week.
- 2/5
My son's sheets had blood on them. The front desk told me I could change them myself if I wanted, but he'd have to keep the same pillowcases and blanket. I had to put my foot down and they moved us to another room. Ridiculous.

It's very central and cosy

The stay was good but I stayed on September 19th and still waiting on them to release my funds from the deposit.
- 5/5
clean, love the lobby area with the games and drinks. amazing property

Great weekend in Chicago. The hotel was in a perfect location - easy to walk everywhere. The lobby was great and the room was comfortable - it has a cool-funky vibe. We loved it!
- 3/5
Hard to sleep and hotel was sold out because of the marathon. Staff was nice . Free coffee in the morning was nice.

The stay was good and the staff great especially the guys at valet parking

- 5/5
The room was a bit dusty in places but overall great experience
- 3/5
AC didn’t stay on
- 4/5
DJ Saturday and lots of people who were not guests wandering around.
- 4/5
Staff are nice, room was clean. Enjoyed the lobby, pool table and bar.
- 3/5
Big stain on my mattress - I'm telling myself it was coffee. Stains on the rug. Two blinds in the room, stains on each of them. Dead bird laying outside my room for the duration of my 8 day stay. Had to request iron/ironing board. Some staff were excellent, others were very disinterested in helping. Overall, it is what I would have expected from a motel at half the price in an out-of-the-way location.
- 3/5
The location was great and convenient to shopping locations!! The morning staff was less than desirable and not as courteous and friendly. The rooms were under stocked of normal daily necessities. Other than that, the evening staff and bartenders were nice and friendly.
- 5/5

Clean room, view of the other hotels rooftop pool.
- 5/5
Great location and price!
- 5/5
Great location with tons of restaurants, coffee shops and great views for our morning walks
- 3/5
Everything was amazing besides the pillows. They felt like those cheap $5 pillows from Walmart and that makes it very hard to sleep comfortable.
- 2/5
staff not attentive
- 1/5
Exceptionally rude attendant Daniel when we arrived. Nice young lady checked us out. We definitely will not return. We did not care for the “industrial” feeling. It could have great but overall it just felt randomly unfinished. The bed was comfy and the shower was excellent. But, the rudeness sort of ruined it for us.
- 5/5
Amazing price for the area. Walking distance to shopping, riverwalk, and Navy Pier. The room could use a little maintenence like freshen paint and fix bathroom door but nothing too major that would keep me from staying there again. Also, they don't clean the room everyday, it's only every other day. Overall, felt safe, the lobby is nice, the beds were comfy, and we had a great time.
- 5/5
First time staying with them and had a great stay, had an issue with the heater but they were fast on getting us good accommodation, I already have my next reservation booked with them!
- 4/5
I wish I had more time at the hotel to enjoy all of the available amenities! I will be returning for sure. Room was small, the view wasn't much but overall it was nice.

Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely room.

We wanted a hotel with a pool and the pool was closed until noon even though they said it opened at 7am. The breakfast was expensive for what seemed like frozen jimmy dean sandwiches! However the theme of the hotel was nice and overall felt clean.

Strong 3 star experience

This hotel was a great stay and very clean. The staff were kind and the lobby is beautiful to take pictures in while hanging out. The location itself was nice and very accessible to many different places that are great options for tourist/vistors!

They have the right mattress firmness and soundproofed room that we forgot we were in the middle of the city. The hotel is very close to a hospital but did not hear the sirens and had a restful and good night sleep.

Great place to stay!

We need more personal items in the room like sleepers to walk around the room , carpet need to change or clean .

Always a pleasure staying here. Staff is always friendly and inviting. We’ve been staying here for the past 3 years during Labor Day weekend and it’s consistently the best. We’ll never stay anywhere else.

I felt awful for the Asian gentleman with glasses working today checkout Sunday morning. He was so pleasant. The rest of the check in /front desk didn’t look up . We had to everyday say, “hello.” It was so odd. Our room vanity had a burn mark on it. Okay. But seemed odd. The shades in both of our rooms were so difficult to get up and down. We felt like at any time they were going to fall. I understand the every other day service to the rooms, but than to have attitude when we ask for more towels. It was an odd experience. We were in town for work, so it was all forgettable. However, had it been a non work trip I would’ve been disappointed with this property for the rate.

This a great location rooms are clean.. however note there is a 150$ deposit to rent a room here...

We stayed for three nights. The room and beds were okay, but the shower was really not good. The water was not warm enough, no matter how I tried to turn it warmer. The handle was loose and not in its correct position. No closet for us to hang clothes. Actually this is okay if not for the service for breakfast we received. We ordered breakfast for 2, thinking we would get at lest something like continental breakfast, but we were given very few choices and the service was really awful. I was allergic to cheese so I had to pick croissant instead of a sandwich. I asked for 2 because the price for one was only $2 and a sandwich cost more than $8. I thought even 2 croissant would add up to only $4, which is still less than the cost for a sandwich. But I was denied. When I asked for some jam/jelly, I was denied again at first and was told "we are not supposed to give that to you". Though I did get one, I really felt hurt because I was only asking for the very basics, nothing extra at all. I have stayed in many hotels, both luxurious and basic ones, but had never received this kind of service. Even a very cheap hotel/motel would be happy to offer it to their guests. The hot water for tea was only lukewarm so I had to give up tea and get coffee. This was the very first time that I stayed in Aloft and I really don't think it was a good hotel for me to recommend.

Front desk and all other staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. Great location for food and shopping. Window coverings kept the light out and beds were comfortable. Nice experience

Love staying in the mag mile. The hotel is very nice and the price is reasonable. Lots of reataurant choices in the area and close to transportation.
- 5/5
It was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

The hotel location was excellent with a modern vibe, and the weekend DJ was fun. However, cleaning could improve—bathroom mirrors were only partially cleaned, and hair was left in several areas. The bar towel also needed attention. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the complimentary water.

I was a little hesitant to book this hotel because of the Google reviews but I’m glad I ended up going with them. Very affordable, in a great location, an amazing view and a clean hotel.

Clean quiet, nice people

Used the valet and they left the window open.

The parking was just around the corner and they paid for it. The facility is nice and clean. Good experience

Be aware, the staff is amazing, very helpful. The location is the main pull for this property, as the facility itself could use some work. Light fixtures weren't straight, bathroom fixtures were loose and movable, which is not normal. Also be aware, there is no breakfast or room service available. Pets are welcome for a fee. A good stay, but next time, I'll probably stay elsewhere.

The AC wasn’t working, I told them that the room temperature is very high and the vent is blowing hot air, they told me give it some time and it will work, 7 hours later they realized that the thermostat was bad and they have to replace the batteries. The breakfast was horrible with little options, the reservation was for four people and food only for two. This hotel needs to have so much improvement.

Pool area is nice but only indoors, fitness room has some great views of the city and the rooms are very retro and modern looking. Lobby is also very retro and aesthetic, many restaurants bars are walkable distance from here.

All the things we wanted to do. Parking was a block away with valet optional. Hotel was clean, however, our room appeared to have had a start o a remodel with the ceiling left unfinished. Strange that the repair was not complete.

We stayed there from Friday thru Monday and our room was never cleaned... We asked the hotel staff more than 3 times and personally spoke with the housekeeper. Trash buildup in the room and the bathroom was filled with used towels. It was a very unpleasant stay.

It was good and fun enjoy myself

This is a nice place. Love the room and how it feels safe to walk around 😊

Ceiling is leaking through electrical pot light, toilet did not flush, room not as advertised. Brought attention to the manager and all they said was they had no other king rooms available. Husband got electrocuted when he took a shower.

The staff at Aloft Mag Mile made this stay an EXCELLENT experience! My negatives: that the rooms really needed a closet or more drawer space (two of us were there a week and couldn’t fit fully unpack ) and I wish the pool were heated. The hotel is CLEAN and has a fun, inviting feel- we loved hanging with other guests in the lobby. The staff are so kind and helpful.

It was close to attraction places. Definitely will come and stay there again.

- Great location! Walking distance to so many good restaurants, the riverwalk, Navy Pier, 360 Tower etc - feel like the rooms looked bigger in photos - sheets barely fit the bed and didn’t stay on well which is really weird and kinda gross for a hotel. We had to adjust them constantly. - towels could be softer. They were rough - I wish they provided a few extra body towels without having to ask (2 people got 2 body towels only). - loved the toiletries provided! Shower items were great and smelled good. My hair loved the shampoo and conditioner.

The whole hotel had a two hour power outage one night. Indicates questionable maintenance.(may have been longer than two hours, generator ran all night)

Aloft was amazing! The location is a 10 minute walk from the Grand red line station and had plenty of options for night life and food. I would highly recommend this as a short term stay option. Seeing as Chicago is quite loud (not the hotels fault) it might be nicer to stay on a higher floor but we were very comfortable during our stay either way.
