Excellent staff Facilities were poor. Bathroom lighting fixture fell on my head and broke. Main elevator out of order. 2 ice machines out of order. No lotion in the dispenser.

The staff were great and did very well with what they had. We were in a two bedroom king suite. The had been smoked in at some point and the smell was still present. The furniture had a lot of wear and tear and look like it should be in a fraternity house. The fitted sheets or mattress pad did not fit the bed and the corners constantly came detached. Also, one of the toilets would continuously run until the tank lid was taken off and the valve was manually shut. This property has a lot of wear and tear. The staff onsite were outstanding, but I think repairs and upgrades are very much needed. I do not recommend this hotel.

No bell carts available at check in. Room was filthy. Other people’s earrings found in the carpet. Food caked in the fridge and on the kitchen floor. Paint in the bathtub peeling and molded. Elevator sounds like it’s breaking and dates posted inside of it are past inspection. Very poor response from staff. Highly recommend to STAY AWAY. Not like the Hilton brand at all.

After we checked in, we went to our room on the fifth floor. My son went into the bathroom immediately came out told me to go check. I went into the bathroom and saw two cockroaches, crawling around on the floor during the daytime. They must be the welcoming committee. I went downstairs and told them that we would not be staying there that night not in that room not in any room because their hotel is infested inside the walls with cockroaches totally unacceptable.

Customer service was decent but they clearly didnt care. I told them we had rusty pots and we needed useable ones to cook for the week while there. They said ok and didnt do anything about it. We had to spend more money and eat out most of the week. The pool was nice but the kids found black mold. The couch smelled like urine, unuseable.

From check in to check out, everyone was so friendly. At check in, we asked about restaurants in the area and were given a list with many options and a few recommendations. The room was huge and great. Very quiet. Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. It was replenished regularly and very clean. The dining area was beautiful and also very clean. Checkout was easy. We will stay again.

This property was fine for a night. The lobby and first floor hallway were updated. Our room definitely was not. Musty and old. Also, the advertise having Hilton’s branded mattresses. Our room did not have these. I assume the Hilton mattresses would have been more comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Will not stay here again.

My stay was absolutely horrible for the amount of money I paid! They put my family and I in a handicapped room at the back of the hotel beside housekeeping, our bathroom floor was full of hair,shower head was broken and the toilet was broken. The front desk and management brushed me off when I went to them with my complaints and concerns and I am very displeased about how I was treated

Our room was in bad condition. There was mold around tub and floor, hair in tub and sink. Sofa stained, carpet dirty worn and threadbare in places. The garbage disposal was broken. The place has the potential to be nice if extra care is given in cleanliness and maintenence. Bed was comfy and hotel had nice amenties. Breakfast was excellent and had many selection including hot breakfast items and I loved the overnight oats and chia seed pudding with an assortment of toppings. This could easily be a high star hotel with some adjustments.

Room prep was not greatest. Had to make 3 trips to desk to get heat/air operational, and they had to send a guy up. Made a trip down because there was no TP, and shampoo and soap dispensers empty. Internet connection was tenuous. Staff very friendly. Breakfast area clean and well serviced

Sorry to say but the lighting in the inner bathroom was not good and at least one day it took 12 minutes to get hot water for the shower and the showere handle was ready to fall off. ...and the mattress had a stain that was not covered by a mattress cover I generally love Hilton and Homewood Suites though.

Reserved a 2 bedroom room suite. The room was nice size, but the room was dated and needs to be updated. The tvs need to be ugraded. To small for the rooms. One of the showers didn't work because of internal pipe problem. Microwave was not clean and I found a candy wrapper behind the nightstand. To be a Hilton property I was disappointed. Also the breakfast was pretty bad.

We were on the 5th Floor and on our last 2 days, the elevator wasn’t working (and neither did we see anyone fixing it).

We seldom write reviews, but because of our experience I am writing this time. We stayed in a room that was a one bedroom suite. The sofa bed had an extremely thin mattress that was very uncomfortable. The sofa upholstery is old and warn. In the bedroom there was no mattress pad on the king bed and the sheet had a spot on it. The king bed also was lumpy and leaned to one side. Some of the finish on the bath tub was pealed off leaving a large spot on the bottom of the tub. Also, there was no bath mat provided. One of the burners on the stove had what looked like pancake batter spilled on the drip pan beneath the burner. The floor of the elevator was sticky as if someone had spilled a soft drink on it. The staff members were pleasant, but otherwise we were very disappointed. We will not stay at a Homewood Suite again.

Hotel is worn out. Holes in the walls, doors that screech and wake up the kids in the other room. The fold out couch bed didn’t have bedding and the front desk couldn’t find a complete set. Do not recommend this hotel.

The only staff member checking us in was robotic and not personable whatsoever. Upon getting into our room, we notice the comforters on both beds were worn and looked dirty. I sat on the bed to notice the mattress was also worn out and uncomfortable. The table that sits between both beds had mold all along both sides where you would face when sleeping. I didn’t even make it to the bathroom to see its condition. Immediately went to front desk where the only staff member wanted to argue about giving me a refund even after showing her pictures of blatant mold! Do not stay here!! Worst room to date my family and I have encountered.

We arrived late for checking close to midnight and we didn’t have hot water. We decided to give the kids a shower the next day. The next day we didn’t have water at all nor trash cans in the room/bathroom. We had to go to another location to get ready for a ceremony. We were told the manager was going to reach back for reimbursement but we have not heard back yet.

Staff is wonderful. But ownership needs to do some heavy maintenance on the property. None of the ice machines on any floor work, tubs are cracked and covered with an adhesive patch that is coming off and the outlets either don’t work or are so loose you can’t plug anything into them. The staff does their absolute best to accommodate any request and none of this is their fault. They need better ownership responsibility of the property. I have never met such a wonderful staff at any other hotel as I have at this one.

This is not the nicest place in terms of quality that you can stay at, and much of the furniture and decor seemed a bit dated. But it was clean, it was a great value, and it fit what we needed perfectly. We will likely stay here again when visiting family in the area.

All in all a great stay for a business trip. As other reviewers have mentioned, the property is a little dated, but everything was clean. The unit was equipped with enough to put together some simple meals. Staff was exceptionally nice and outgoing. Definitely the highlight of the stay.

BEWARE OF BEDBUGS! I had invited a couple to stay with us in a 2 king bed suite for a week long birthday visit and celebration. I booked through hotels.con having used them for some years now. After the first night I began itching but I presumed it was mosquito bites. On Thursday, when I pulled back the covers, several bugs were crawling around the bed with evidence that others had been squished. We had the manager come up so she would see first hand the bugs, as well as the filthy, menstrual stained mattress that I had unwittingly had my dear friends sleeping on. After constantly needing to follow up with both the hotel itself & hotels.com, with the manager, R. A. Lacey, never being available when I called, we were finally offered 3 day refunded by hotels.com. Let me just say also, that hotels.com also blocked our efforts for a refund by being unwilling to supply basic information about the location of their corporate offices (5400 Lyndon B Johnson Fey, #500, Dallas, TX 75240; 877.903.0071), being unwilling to provide a transcript of our chat & basically trying to frustrate us into giving up pursuing resolution. Anyway, hotels.com finally provided a full refund after filing a claim with the BBB. Hotels.com & also offered to provide a $100. credit for a future booking but I have not seen that so to date, they have not honored the full scope of their resolution offer. I paid over $2000. In advance and left there with over 30 bug bites from my eye to my feet. DON’T STAY HERE!

The facility in general was fine. The door lock to our suite broke after the first use and took an hour or so to repair. The AC unit in the main room of the suite didn’t work. The sofa bed was the most uncomfortable mattress you could ever imagine. The couch had some stains on the arms. Breakfast was ok.

This comment section does not give you enough space to truly let the viewers know the headache we went through so they can decide for themselves whether to stay at either the Homestead Suites or their sister company the Hilton next door. As we had to encounter both hotels because a pipe burst in our room at the Homestead. If management wants to call and rectify our visit we encourage them to do so. Let just say this was not the trip we planned for our children for a job well done to end their school year and start their summer break. Wasted money. Disappointed.

We traveled to Virginia for a graduation. The room we stayed in was quite comfortable. It was nice to have a small kitchen with refrigerator to keep our drinks in and microwave to heat up leftovers as well as nice coffee mugs to drink tea out of after a long, eventful day.

The room was used by previous hotel stay over for dog stays. The furniture was all scratched up and a chewed up. The curtains were either dirty or rusted and not cleaned off. The same applies to the kitchen table. It was dirty. Also the fire alarms went off a few times during the night which jolted us out of sleep. We would prepare t leave the room and then they would stop. The food was also cold in the morning and the OJ was separated and undrinkable. The coffee was amazing! The location was great. The front desk staff were welcome and polite.

I can say it's ok, the room that we stayed is falling apart. Main door you have to bang it to close, bedroom door has big hole on the back of it. Bathroom sink has cracked on it, one time there is no hot water can't take a shower. We called the lobby and was told they will send from the maintenance but no one came. Thermostat are not working too.

We were there to celebrate thanksgiving and our 40 th wedding anniversary. Have visited Virginia Beach area in past but this was first time at this hotel. Will stay again when we come to this area. Loved the fact that you are pet friendly. Great breakfast! Pleases don’t change!

They claimed this was the only room available at checkin, hard to believe. The place did not seem full. We did enjoy the breakfast, best part of the stay. Will never stay here again though.
