Breakfast was plentiful and parking was easy.

some one either threw up or spilled liquid on rug inside front entrance. they put a wet floor sign up til it dried then left the dried mess there all weekend. 4 of us were staying in the room, when we arrived we had 2 washcloths nothing else!! called front desk and was told they couldn’t leave desk so we went down to pick up towels and were told they were in dryer , come back in 10 minutes. that could have been explained when we first called them…. the rod holding our shower curtain was hanging on by a thread so curtain couldn’t be pulled shut for taking a shower.

We came to our room about 1:30am and there was no towels or wash cloths in room so that we can take a shower. My son went downstairs the next morning around 9 am and the lady said that they had no clean linens. How you didn’t have any the whole day before or the next morning. Did they check the rooms. So mad I had to go buy towels to wash

Everything else left us wanting. There were no coffee pots in the room, the hallways smelled like extremely strong Clorox that lingered. The guests were loud and they began slamming their doors at 5:00am and staff didn’t say anything. The exterior side door keypads did not work which made parking around the back and sides difficult. We ended up leaving a day early and will not be staying there again when we come back to the area.

room was great breakfast was delicious - my only complaint was housekeeping took my towels on saturday and didnt replace them and when I went to grab a set Sunday morning they said there were no towels to give me. I used hand towels after my shower.

I have never met such inhospitable front staff at a hotel. We were greeted and treated with indifference and apathy. I would never recommend staying here.

Didn’t care so much for the fact that the rooms were not throughly cleaned a daily basis. One day they picked up the trash in the room and didn’t make the beds or swap out towels. Another day the made the bed and didn’t empty trash or switch towels. Another day they swapped towels and left trash in the trash can and the bed unmade. Couldn’t keep up with what to expect when I left the room and returned. I thought this should be a standard practice across the board. So for that they get a “no” star for their strategic room cleaning process. The price to stay in the room didn’t decrease but instead had increased, however less customers support is offered.

The property has not been well maintained. My room had water damage on the ceiling and a wall and the blinds didn’t work. The second room wreaked of cigarette smoke. Hated it. Not at all like 21st street property.

Everything was great as usual. Definitely my go to place to stay when Im in town. The staff aim to please. Amenities are always available when nedded. Parking was easy and breakfast was delicious..

there was no hot breakfast available neither coffee or hot items like eggs. I want a refund for breakfast not being available. I I had to go get breakfast separately at a restaurant which made my available time limited before my meeting.

Holiday Inn Express Chesapeake - Norfolk is a clean and comfortable hotel. Their staff was very good. My family of four was very comfortable.

I arrived to the hotel and was notified that the elevator had been down for multiple days and still wasn't working. This would have been great to know prior to booking my room, especially after being placed on the top floor of the hotel. The rooms are a nice size but they had a little funky odor (old carpet). Didn't interact with the staff much. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The location is convienent to the mall and restuarants.

Good location, was only in town 1 night for a concert and located in the perfect area. The only downfall is we checked out 2/21 around 4am for a 5am flight and the front desk worker was clearly in the back office sleep. I was tapping the key on the counter and she came out the back with a nasty attitude stating “don’t tap the key on the counter” I said well we’ve been standing here for 5 mins and nobody came to the front. She said “well don’t tap it” and I said well you should have been out here.

It was clean, very friendly staff, close to everything.

There were roaches! I have pictures. The first night there was a small dead roach on the toilet seat. It was late so we just went to sleep. A few nights later a giant cockroach crawling around. We checked out expeditiously. The young lady at the desk was very nice and sympathetic and understanding and she ended our reservation a day early and gave us points but the place is not clean.

Staff was awesome! Respected privacy and was able to assist as soon as requested.

I genuinely liked the beginning. Shayla was great getting me checked in. It was later that night dealing with the guy at the front desk and the next day meeting the other receptionist that made me feel unwelcomed while deciding to charge me a second incidental fee for the same room despite modifying my reservation. The breakfast was definitely not as described. There wasn't any fruit available to eat or any juice to drink.

The Staff was great. The room was clean and very nice. The breakfast was great. Enjoyed my stay and will definitely book here again. I visit at least once a year if not twice. This motel was very close to my family that lives in the area. So, I will book here each time I visit if possible. I felt very safe here. Thank you to all the staff.

Giving two stars because the staff are so nice here! I have stayed here twice now for work. The first, I had zero issues. The second time was terrible. A roach crawled across the floor as I was facetiming my family. I took pictures and confirmed it was in fact a roach. I obviously could not sleep without checking the whole room after which lead me to find more bugs. I informed management who were very nice about the issue but I would’ve appreciated a refund at that point for an entire night of lost sleep. After that whole experience, I just couldn’t stay there again.

Hotel appeared to be new and very fresh. Our room smelled very fresh and clean. The bathroom floor was very spongy and appeared to have some cracks in floor tiles. All and all a very good experience.

The staff was excellent. The room was meh - all the usb plugins were broken. The power outlets needed to be changed, they've been hammered on. 1 out of 4 worked in our room. The TV did not work properly, took about an hour just to get the power to turn on, so I turned it off and didn't bother trying again. The outside was clean, and the room was ok as far as clean goes, but bring your own soap and shampoo. The liquid stuff they have for you was icky as all get out.

Hotel was clean and neat, with great rooms and a comfortable bed. My only complaint was that housekeeping was very loud in the hallways starting at 7 or 8 am so sleeping in was a challenge

The hotel was in a convenient place to downtown Norfolk, VA. The room was okay the bathroom needs some updates. The vent in the bathroom over where the towels were stored a lot of dust. You could see the dust very clear.

Was promised free breakfast but did not get any. Went downstairs for breakfast way before it ended and everything was empty.

I paid through Expedia and when arrived at the hotel they charged me again.

When I got there my air condition was broken and they fixed it within 10 minutes. Everything you could need is around it and you can’t get in at night unless you have a key card. Felt safe.

Wonderful property, safe, quiet and clean, convenient to interstate, shopping and conference center. Rooms are spacious and we'll lit with natural light. staff was excellent, welcoming and efficient for travel weary soul. Shower handle fell off and bedside lights didn't work but otherwise wonderful stay.

Well we are not picky at all and have stayed here before and it was great - this time the hotel stank like sewage and our room was nearly unbearable - strong sewage smell with room spray smell to try and cover it up. It took your breath away it was so bad. We were in too much or a hurry to try and change rooms - we dealt with it and most people would not have. Buckets out and ceiling tiles missing on main floor obv plumbing issues. Why not mention at check in and close hotel until smell is better. It was putrid!!! There were two fans in our room I guess they used to try and remove smell. Didn’t work. Smelled like soiled diapers literally so strong. We should have gotten a major discount - it was terrible.

Check in was quick but the front desk person wasn't super friendly. Bathroom is separate from sink area, which I thought was odd. Tiny bathroom. Given the cost and free parking, as well as closeness to Wawa, I would probably stay there again.

I always prefer holiday inn for my stay and this time also they have exceeded my expectation. Perfect place for stay and their hospitality is excellent

This was by far the best experience we had in years. It was so so so clean! The hotel smelled clean and fresh the bedding everything was spotless. The staff was friendly checked inn to clean or replace anything needed. The breakfast was great they have multiple options which we appreciated too! Good job to all the staff of this hotel! Can not be more satisfied then we are a family of 4 in one room.

The breakfast was great and had many selections to choose from and the buffet setup was clean, hot and flavorful.

Got off shift at 1:30am, was able to check in with no issues or delays. Very happy with everything will definitely be staying here again. Breakfast was delicious and constantly restocked.

I enjoyed this location overall. The studio with king sized bed was perfect for my solo travels. The room could have been cleaned and refreshed prior to my arrival as there were minor things missed. I always bring my own cleaning poducts when staying at hotels just in case, so I got it done but shouldn't have had to. The noise level was moderately low. I slept well so that was fine. The location of the hotel was perfectly quaint, away from major traffic.

We thought our tub drain was clogged or something and would not drain but it turned out we just didn’t realize the drain was different than we were used to so it was fine! The breakfast area can be hard to get through if it’s busy but it’s understandable for a free hotel breakfast, food was pretty good too! Definitely loved the staff though, they were awesome!!!

Once I got to my room, the issues continued. The AC unit was extremely loud and rattled nonstop—I had to place a book on top of it just to dull the noise. The room itself felt outdated and unwelcoming. Overall, this was a disappointing experience and I will not be returning.

I arrived 20 minutes prior to check in and was told no rooms erre ready. Ten minutes later two separate guests were given rooms . Male desk employee eas rude. That night a group of young teenage girls were running the hallways until 1am. Front desk failed to follow hotel policy enforcing a quiet time after 10 pm. Bad experience

We did have to call maintenance for a blocked toilet. They came very quickly & resolved the issue in no time. Very happy about that. Breakfast area was clean & well stocked. Food options were plentiful.

Common areas such as elevators and hallways were not kept clean. Minimal amenities in the room, i.e. towels and pillows.

The only negative was that the snow wasn’t cleared in some places. But this did not hinder us from feeling safe and happy.

Charged a security deposit of $50 and stated it would be credited upon my departure. Ten days later, still on my account! Had people in their trucks who spent the night in the trucks outside my 1st floor window. Front desk did NOTHING!

Stayed here a few times but this was the first time I had an issue. and even then it was more on me than a hotel issue. I stayed Friday-Monday and had to be up early on Saturday and Sunday, the breakfast wasn't served until I was already out of the hotel for the day. Just wish it was served earlier

Pretty good hotel welcoming at check in. The room had everything we needed and was very clean as was the bathroom. Didn’t like that the basin was outside of the bathroom area near the door not giving complete privacy which we didn’t like. Our bathroom door was rotten at the bottom and needed replacing it wasn’t very pretty. Beds and pillows were super comfy. The lift didn’t look as though it had been vacuumed for weeks and as there is only the one it was clearly well used. Breakfast was good except there was NO milk at all for cereal or butter for toast and only two yoghurts left. The girl serving the breakfast was very unfriendly and miserable which didn’t give a very good vibe when my husband asked about the milk she just said no there was no milk. Couldn’t someone go out to buy some and buy a couple of blocks of butter to cut up into cubes so you didn’t run out?? Plenty of hot food though which was good. The dining area was very dirty and the fabric seats were horribly stained and badly needed cleaning plus the table legs and feet were really dirty and clearly haven’t been cleaned for a long time. Think the hotel needs a little attention in a few areas. Close to lots of shops and dining so a good location.

The music in the lobby is too loud. I was in room 111 right by the lobby. I'm a light sleeper and I can faintly hear the music in my room at night. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel.
