I didn’t like that my first room smelled like stale cigarettes and the second room wasn’t cleaned properly. Sticky stuff on the nightstands. Dirty carpet.

Breakfast, and the staff in the breakfast area, were great. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful at check-in and every morning. The room was comfortable (the air conditioner was pretty loud when the compressor kicked in). The shower was great. The only problem was that housekeeping never came to clean or replenish the towels in the six days we stayed, even when we stopped by the front desk in the morning to inform them that we would be away for the day. The TV was very loud when it came on to the main menu page and the sound kicked in and out when watching a program. CBS was not available on their system. The pool area was nice but very loud from highway noise.

The only thing that we felt needs improvement but will still give 5 stars for is that while the bathroom is very roomy, there is no shelf or counter where to place anything such as a robe, towels, toiletries or change of clothes. We look forward to staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Chesapeake on any future trips to the area.

I was there for 9 nights, I normally keep the DND sign on the door, but after 4 days I needed some trash taken out, so I took the sign off each morning by 10 am. By the 6th night, I finally had to ask them at the desk to have my room cleaned, no one had been in all week. They still didn't come into my room. I had to ask the desk again on the 7th morning to make sure they came in, and also mentioned that the room was very damp/musty smelling. Maybe the AC? The BEST part of the stay: the location, very convenient to everything in Chesapeake (shopping, family, restaurants etc.). Also, LOVED the breakfast selection. It changed daily, but was always fresh, hot and delicious. The breakfast staff were always friendly and attentive. I also have to give a shout out to my girls at the front desk... they were fantastic. Every day they saw me they called me by my first name and we always had a giggle. Worst part: room smell and Oh... some guest in one of the rooms disconnected their fire smoke alarm and set off the alarm to vacate the entire hotel at 2:45 A.M! What an idiot! There are reasons you can't smoke in your room. That was definitely a 1st for me, evacuating a hotel. Staff handled it well.

This was my second time in 2 years, and I stay 8 days...I love this hotel...everyone is fantastic, anything you need they are right on it..Everyone is very personable and attentive and just great people!! I will always stay there when in Chesapeake! I cant wait for my next visit, the pool will be open!! Yayyyy

The bed was not comfortable, the mattress was softer on the sides and you sort of roll to the outer edge and the pillows were too thick

Great staff at front desk

Staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast server (Jose?) was very courteous and friendly. Desk managers were polite and helpful. We had to ask for fresh towels a couple of times, and had to ask that room be "refreshed". We had been in room four nights and had to request service and it took another day to refresh.

I loved the little quiche, turkey sausages & the cage free eggs . There were a lot of choices of tea. I love the earl grey tea. I had that for breakfast every morning, since I’m diabetic. The buffet area was well attended & the tables were clean.

The people were great!! the breakfast was excellent, and the cook came out and told us the oatmeal is from her grandmother's recipe! It was a nice surprise, considering we were there to attend a funeral and not feeling so good about it. Pat your people on their backs, they are on top of their games!

We have stayed there a few years ago, same trip to dust family in the area. We actually recognized some of the General Check-in staff. They are WONDERFUL, especially David, and the gal when we checked out. The entire staff was amazing, friendly, polite and ready to help in any way, Great breakfast, wonderful fresh selection. Room was updated just as we remembered. Bathroom very clean, modern. Bed comfy, even a cute plastic cover on remote. We had front parking next to our room. Overall we will return again. (We have tried other hotels in same area, this is by far the best. Thank you for making our stay so special.

The air conditioner was too loud. I had to turn up the tv sky high to hear over it and then when it cut off, the tv was extremely loud.

The room was nice and clean. The staff was friendly. The parking lot was very full at night. I had to really hunt for a space. There were several cars that were parked too close to the parking lines which contributed to the parking problems. The breakfast was okay. I like the bacon day better than the sausage day.

The staff was courteous and helpful, especially at check-in. The elevators were a bit slow at times, but manageable. The room was clean and had a decent layout, though it could use a little updating. Some furniture and fixtures showed signs of wear, but nothing that ruined the stay. Food options on-site were convenient, especially for quick bites between swimming and beach time. The Loco Gecko restaurant nearby also had good variety and great service. If you're traveling with kids or just want a resort-style vacation with easy beach access, Crown Reef is a solid choice. Just know it’s more about fun and convenience than luxury.

We needed a one night stay for our annual trip to the outer banks - would NOT stay again. Room smelled like cheap cologne, a used wash cloth hung on the shower rod…. Looks like a run down place with a bad facelift

It's an older hotel but its very clean and well kept. There are great seafood restaurants right outside the door. The Jetty and Fisherman's Crabdeck is one of my favorites.

I stayed here with my family for my graduation. My family flew in from London, Jamaica and multiples different states (prior military my friends are all over) anyways, the staff was absolutely amazing and accommodating. They were professional and even allowed us to surprise our moms in the lobby for mothers dah weekend. Mr. David was an absolute rockstar with accommodating every need, offering suggestions and showing us true hospitality. Thanks so much for such an amazing stay.

Cons--The bed was lower to the floor than most. The pillows were also very soft Overall I did enjoy my stay and I would return again

Safe place to stay

We were here one night before a cruise. The front desk employees were very nice and helpful and the bed was comfy. It's conveniently located not too far from the parking deck we used during our trip. Breakfast was very busy and the ladies were having a tough time keeping the coffee dispenser filled. They could have used some help. Would stay here again.

Room wasn't vacuumed or fully vacuumed; items on the floor upon arrival. Lobby smelled fresh, but room didnt. Top door latch locked, but door handle lock didn't fit in strike plate and offered no additional security. Same security issue in room next door.

It was close to the Chiller Ponds arena where my son is currently playing Junior Hockey. It was close to all the amenities I needed during my stay. Staff were wonderful and friendly.

The housekeeping wasn’t accommodating, but the overall stay was quiet and clean.

Stay was pretty mid. 5.5/10. Toilet kept running out of water had to constantly use my ice bucket to fill the toilet bowl back up or it wouldn’t be able to flush. Upon arriving I was greeted by the front desk who was an extremely great staff. I was able to check in earlier. Upon arriving at the room it had a pretty bad smell that just wouldn’t go away whether I sprayed some or not. Overal stay wasn’t bad it was really peaceful aside from having to fill toilet every time I needed to use it and the unbearable sewage smell.

I went for only one night with my husband for my birthday and the front desk agent unfortunately I didn’t get her her manager‘s name but they made me feel so welcome and happy to celebrate my birthday and be with them. This was my second time staying at that hotel and I’ll definitely be staying there every time I come into town to visit they make you feel so comfortable. The rooms were cleaned the baddest comfortable I enjoyed myself. Thanks for a great birthday

Awesome place!

We stayed here for two nights over a holiday weekend, booked well in advance. The hotel was updated but starting to show some wear and tear. Our room was a bit musty when we entered; when maintenance was notified they simply cranked the air conditioning down to 64F to reach a reasonable temperature. The bathroom didn’t have a fan or, if it did, it wasn’t functional; we notified the front desk of this before leaving our room for the day and didn’t notice a difference when we returned. The mirror over the sink was losing its gold finish from being cleaned, and the shower doors left water everywhere despite being firmly closed, and the tile floors seemed sticky. The bed was decent and we slept well despite being right next to the lobby. The front desk staff were very friendly and the breakfast was decent. The parking lot seemed safe and there were lots of restaurants and shops within driving distance.

Great hotel! The staff was excellent, the rooms were updated and clean, and there were many options for the free breakfast.

All the staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good with a good variety of food. It is located near a highway and you can hear the cars at night. Sink area was small, noticed rust around bathroom door and there wasn’t a foldable stand to place your suitcase on.
