However, some guests have complained about issues with the bathrooms, including peeling bathtub coatings, cracked sinks, and old showers.

the rooms are excellent and very clean the only draw back is the lighting is terrible! Its hard to see to get ready for an evening out. We made reservations at Bridgeman's (it's what I asked from my husband for my 60th bday) We live in Dallas so this is where he took me... the food was over an hour before ANYTHING got to us, the ticket order supposedly was lost, nobody ever said a thing until they brought a "complimentary shrimp cocktail. Then took about 20 more minutes to get our appetizer - I canceled mu salad because by this time we were just ready for the main course, which was FABULOUS, but VERY disappointed in the meal experience within itself. Most likely will not be back next visit to Chattanooga
- 5/5
House keeping and other staff were efficient, food at Bridgeman was wonderful, bar service and drinks at the lobby bar were great. Downside was that the lack of some amenities with the “lesser rooms” furnished through Expedia and probably other third party vendors are not worth the price difference to me.

Upscale hotel in good location
- 5/5
Very attentive staff. Old world charm.
- 4/5
Good place and location, but old and small room
- 5/5
Room was clean. Loved the indoor pool. Wished the water for the shower was warmer.
- 5/5
Reasonably priced. Very clean rooms.
- 4/5
The seating in the room was a bit inadequate, there were children in the bar, and children noisy in the hallway, everything else was terrific.
- 5/5
I love The Read House! As someone with high standards for cleanliness and ambiance, trust me when I say you wont be disappointed.
- 5/5
Staff is wonderful. Great friendly service with plenty to do in the area. Perfect place to stay if you are just exploring the area for a couple of days.

Property overall was great. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Read House. We upgraded at registration for the suite in the older part of the hotel. The decor was very nice and amenities were serviceable. The elevator on that side is pretty slow. In fact, I believe only one was working during our visit. We used valet the whole time, and they were very quick and professional. We dined in the Chop House one evening and enjoyed that meal. It was small and busy, so reservations are a must. We also enjoyed the bar in the lobby. Everyone was very friendly and helpful during our stay. There was no restaurant for breakfast, but the room service was reasonable, it was delivered on time, and the food was hot and good. I recommend a stay here, and the location is central to a lot of things to do and see in downtown Chattanooga.
- 5/5
It was absolutely beautiful Missed the haunted tour
- 5/5
I absolutely loved my stay at The Read House and was completely charmed by its incredible historic character and elegant, Roaring Twenties atmosphere. While the rooms were simple, they were beautifully appointed, clean, and perfectly comfortable for a relaxing stay. It’s a wonderful boutique find for anyone looking to blend timeless style with a true sense of place. I'll be back to stay in 311 ;)
- 5/5
The hospitality was top tier
- 3.5/5
Location was okay. It was only okay because there isn't really much around the area. Some restaurants and bars but not really a downtown area to speak of. I liked the general look and history of the hotel which appeared to be a real selling point to the domestic tourists we spook to. The hotel internal pool was quite nice. The valet is efficient and quick and quite helpful. We were told that we could reverse into the meter bay and only pay from 8am if we wanted to, guy was helpful when certainly didn't need to be. As I didn't want to go down and feed the meter myself I didn't park on the street. Upsold a room and told the room we'd booked is very small. I really didn't appreciate the busy checkin upsell, peer pressure with people less than a foot away hearing me dedide if I wanted a really "small room" or updrade to a "insert fanfare" as he waved his arms to show it was a great deal. He even said he as was told to use his arms to emphasise it. What a crock. Hotel restaurant was very expensive also so we avoided it and went elsewhere. I will say that the ambience of the restaurant certainly appeated top tier. No tea/coffee in the public area provided other than the small amount in the room or the upsell of the attached Starbucks. We enquired about the tour of the hotel that another guest told us about. We were told it was full that day but apparently not full it we had "cash". Yes, if we gave a tip we could join the tour. The bathroom "door", there is a surge of hotels putting on pocket or barn doors. If you like them and are comfortable with the sounds your travelling partner makes then so be it but a door that doesn't fully close and can be seen through at the sides isn't an attractive feature,

Beautiful hotel!!
- 4.5/5
We only stayed one night but the staff was so friendly and helpful and the lobby was absolutely stunning. Having a coffee shop in the lobby was also a bonus. We enjoyed a ghost tour of Annalisa Netherly's room and that was so interesting. Fortunately, she didn't haunt our room afterwards :) I used the fitness center and my daughter used the pool and we cannot wait to return as she will be attending UTC starting this fall. Nothing!

Excellent service, valet, housekeeping.

- 5/5
The hotel is exquisite! Walking in I felt like I was royalty. The valet, doorman, and front desk staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
- 5/5
Very convenient location on shuttle stop. Will definitely go again.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely courteous and professional. The room was great. All around wonderful experience.
- 4.5/5
Right in the heart of downtown.Within walking distance to many places we wanted to visit. Side of hotel we stayed on was deserted. Paint was peeling. Storage was awkward. No shower door so water got everywhere.
- 5/5
The property is very lovely. Our daughter used it for her wedding guests. Nice!!
- 1/5
Used to be a great spot too many other good places to waste your time or money here
- 5/5
Everything about The Reed House is first class. Never disappoints. Great staff, 5 star restaurant, wonderful location.

We loved everything about this hotel, a little old and quirky but that is what we wanted, exceptionally well decorated throughout with a great atmosphere and facilities. Breakfast was only available in the hotel at a weekend
- 5/5
My stay at The Read House was outstanding from start to finish. The hotel beautifully blends historic charm with modern comfort, and the staff made every part of the experience welcoming and enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable, the public spaces were stunning, and the location made it easy to explore downtown Chattanooga. One of the highlights was taking the haunted room tour. Even if you’re not a believer in ghost stories, the history behind the hotel is fascinating and adds a unique dimension to the experience. It was both entertaining and memorable. I highly recommend The Read House to anyone visiting Chattanooga. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, great hospitality, or a little mystery, this hotel delivers a truly special stay.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay at The Read House. The staff was so friendly and welcoming! When we checked in the front desk clerk was very informative he told us they had free tours of room 311. We signed up and did the tour with John he did a wonderful job. We went to Bar and Billiards for snacks and drinks and played pool it was very nice great ,staff. I will definitely be going back for a longer stay!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, the amenities are just ok. The gym leaves a lot to be desired. The pool is just way too hot. The bar is great.
- 5/5
The hotel was absolutely beautiful
- 5/5
I love the style of the hotel how beautiful the lobby is. The staff was all very kind and helpful. There was only one elevator running so it took quite a while to get on an elevator. The bathrooms were beautiful but the water pressure wasn't great.
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing in every way! Nothing. Everyone and everything was excellent.
- 5/5
Historical in nature with modern accomadations.

Our experience here was exemplary. Jennifer and Austin at the front desk were welcoming, friendly, funny and very helpful. The premiere king room we stayed in was beautifully decorated, tastefully preserving both the character of the old hotel and offering modern upgrades. The bed was soft and comfortable and the towels were plush. Room had a nice city view, was quiet and very clean. The hotel itself is lovely and we took some time wandering around the main floor looking at photos and some very interesting memorabilia from bygone days. All in all, a brief but memorable stay. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others or stay there again.
- 4/5
We love visiting The Read House. The staff is always wonderful. The rooms are lovely. We enjoyed snacking at the bar this time. If I had anything negative to say it would be that our room needed new mattresses. Normally the mattresses are heavenly. This time, you could tell they were a little softer.
- 5/5
The Chophouse restaurant was exceptional both with food and service.
- 5/5
Great room, Comfortable and awesome shower. Door Greeters were great and helpful! Valet employees were above and beyond, very polite, and extremely helpful. Thank you for an awesome stay! Liked everything. Would love a seat in the shower to relax..

We had a relaxing stay. It was a great property
- 5/5
Room service breakfast was great and reasonable. Billiard room was fun. I didn't use the pool but it was larger than most
- 5/5
This is the third time that my wife and I have stayed at the Read House, and we are never disappointed. Such a beautiful place!
- 5/5
Customer Service was excellent!
- 4/5
This hotel is very nice, has a bit of elegance to it without the high price tag. Upon arrival we valleyed our vehicle, staff was pleasant and our room was nice. To have your vehicle valleyed its $30 per night which was not mentioned to me but since ok since i didn't have to park my car. There is no place for breakfast in the hotel so you will have to find a place for breakfast. There is a bar lounge which is nice. Beds were comfortable and overall pleasant experience. I would stay here again if i am ever back in Chattanooga.
- 4/5
One night we brought back some dessert and wanted a cup of coffee from the downstairs bar to go with it. The bartender said it was a “health code violation” to have it in the bar. However we could 20ft away in the lobby… and there were dogs everywhere that were not considered a “health code violation” Just didn’t make sense
- 3/5
Did not order breakfast bar did not offer margaritas the pool was cold and shallow the shower was barely warm when we called about they did send someone up but, he said it was fixed it wasn't. Staff was friendly
- 5/5
The property was beautifully restored and had great historic artifacts. The room was super spacious and comfortable.
- 5/5
I don’t usually write reviews but this one was worth taking few seconds to highlight! From check in to check out it was a pure delight! Absolutely stunning property with best customer service I’ve ever experienced I will return to this property at some point
- 5/5
The hotel was very well decorated and nostalgic. Centrally located to restaurants and downtown area.
- 5/5
Great weekend trip to Chattanooga. Room was very clean and large. Staff was very helpful. Even got a guided tour of the haunted room 311. The guide did a tremendous job. Starbucks and Bridgeman's Chophouse were attached to the hotel which was very convenient. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Outstanding place to stay that displays class and charm. Highly recommend it!

- 5/5
This is a class act hotel full of old-world charm and elegance. Love it and highly recommend!
- 3/5
The next morning, room service delivered to the room next to us at 7:00 am and annouced they were at the door loudly waking us up. They then let the door slam shut when entering the room and leaving. My husband left with what appears to be flea bites - they allow dogs in this hotel. When he notified the front desk they just said "ok" they did not ask what room we were in or say that they would notify the manager.

Very unique hotel with an old world feel. Super nice staff and gorgeous indoor pool area. Close enough to walk to aquarium.
- 1/5
At checkout, we mentioned the incident again to a different staff member, and she didn't react or apologize either, which lead us to believe that this was not an isolated incident and that the hotel staff is aware of the issue. For a hotel in this price range, we expect at least a basic acknowledgment of the situation and some reassurance that it would be addressed. This experience really affected our impression of the hotel.
- 5/5
I love how beautiful the rooms are. I wish I had been able to stay longer and was able to enjoy the restaurants within the hotel with the hotel itself is absolutely phenomenal.
- 5/5
The Read House was wonderful! Everything from check-in to check-out was seamless. Exploring the property was a highlight of our trip.

Read house is a wonderful stay every time I come.

Love this place and have stayed here twice now.
- 5/5
It was the highest quality experience, best night sleep and the very quietest room I have enjoyed in ages!
- 5/5
Cool bar.
- 5/5
A privilege to stay in a beautifully preserved historic hotel. Staff helpful in directing us to the electric shuttle and helping us with printing out boarding passes and loading our bags into the taxi at check out.
- 5/5
Thus hitel is exquisite, amazing staff and very quiet place to unwind. The restaurant was top tier and the amenities were on point. Id definitely stay again.

- 5/5
Great location! One of the best hotels in the area
- 5/5
Such a beautiful hotel! Historic and high quality service.
- 5/5
Everything was great when I visited. If I want to make a fuss about anything, the pool wasn’t heated. Room service and staff get 5 stars from me.
- 5/5
Absolutely stunning hotel!
- 5/5
Only spent one night but loved the place!

Huge disappointment
- 5/5
This is our second stay and I’m continually impressed by the staff’s professionalism and kindness. The hotel itself is a neat place and in a convenient location.

I love this place ! It was clean, neat , everything an upscale hotel should be! I will definitely be coming back !! 🤗🤗

The Read House has so much character. Our room was so spacious. We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. The staff (David) let us know things to do and places to eat. They lent us an umbrella for the day when it was raining. The bar was hopping every night. There is a pool table room in the back with 2 tables. A nice space to hang out. We would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
The Read House is such a wonderful time period Hotel. If you’re looking for a class and elegance look no further.
- 5/5
Beautiful clean hotel, with excellent staff at bar and check in.
- 5/5
Hotel is beautiful. Bar and restaurant on site. Bathroom is great!
- 5/5
There is a great coffee shop a block down from the hotel called Sleepyhead Coffee. I would suggest people go there instead.
- 5/5
Bar was more exciting than most of the outside bars Great Vibe !
- 5/5
The Read House is a beautiful place to stay. The decor was a step back in time, and the staff from the front desk to the bar and valet were excellent. The room had plenty of space. If you have expectations about your visit, do not worry. You will not be disappointed. Bravo
- 5/5
It has been years since I stayed here and the hotel has undergone a fantastic renovation. I recommend staying in the new wing - it was pristine and the decor reminded me of the Greenbrier.
- 5/5
Clean and gorgeous
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is a beautiful historical hotel. Pleasantly surprised how gorgeous it was and reasonably priced. The hotel has so much history and beautiful chandeliers, Wood work, fun old telephone booths. We were able to get a look at the silver banquet room. It is breathtaking. Our hotel room was very clean, very comfortable bed and quiet to sleep. We enjoyed a glass of free champagne in the bar . We thoroughly enjoyed the waitress and the staff. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
- 5/5
didnt do breakfast
- 5/5
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is a work of art and we got a great price for the room. There are good restaurants and bars within walking distance of the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
First, the hotel is beautiful. Now for the specifics: coffeemaker in the room is a plus, great bed and pillows, staff always professional and friendly, good bar, location is great for downtown wandering. Last but definitely not least, the bar allows guests to take their drinks to their room. So handy on a late night!

seems like the lobby is what you are paying for.
- 5/5
The room was very spacious. Had a comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean. The staff had always been friendly
- 5/5
We stayed at The Read House solely for the Seersucker Saturday experience, and it did not disappoint! This location is historic and gorgeous!
- 5/5
Well maintained, pleasant decor, luxury hotel comfort, great onsite restaurant. Starbucks on main floor. Easy walk to multiple dining - bar options.
- 5/5
Ambience was 1920s glam!
- 4/5
Beautiful historic hotel…took a long time to get hot water to room
- 5/5
This hotel is gorgeous- you literally feel like you have stepped back in time.
- 5/5
I had a great experience at the Read Hotel. What stood out to me the most was getting to tour Room 311—it was such a unique part of the visit, especially knowing it’s known for being haunted! It definitely added a fun and interesting twist to the experience. The staff was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and genuinely kind throughout the entire visit. They made everything easy and enjoyable from start to finish. I would definitely recommend checking it out, whether you’re curious about the history or just looking for a great place with amazing service!
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Bar food was better than most. They have Starbucks. Room was clean. Plenty of room to maneuver my wheelchair, especially the bathroom. It's the biggest I've seen. Staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
Great historical hotel located in the center of downtown.
- 2/5
A handful of staffers were very hospitable, but when IT assistance was needed in the pre-paid for Billiards room, upper management intervened & wanted to charge extra for their assistance. Also, everyone in our group was disappointed that there was no complimentary breakfast as originally offered and each guest was charged 10.00 per day plus tax for amenities we didn’t use and all thought the 30.00 per day charge for valet only parking was excessive.
- 5/5
very pleasant hotel
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown, Bridgeman’s Steakhouse was so good. The hotel was hosting a prom so lobby was extremely crowded.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in excellent condition
- 5/5
Staff was very responsive and friendly. Facilities well maintained.
- 4/5
The food was good. What was erratic was how long it took to get the food. We ordered the same thing every day. The bar was fairly full every afternoon/evening we were here. Sometimes it took 15 min-sometimes 45 min--WEIRD.
- 5/5
The room was very clean with everything we needed. The staff were very friendly from the time we checked in till we checked out. The valet staff were very courteous and prompt each time we left the hotel.
- 4/5
My favorite place to stay in Chattanooga! Beautiful lobby and main level. Good food options if you need them there. Close to downtown attractions. Friendly staff..on this trip I had a problem with a noisy refrigerator and it was resolved quickly.
- 5/5
Lovely old hotel. Also, exceptionally clean.

Was there for a wedding and reception and stayed the night where the reception was - The Read House. Very nice and very impressed.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay. Excellent staff with spacious well appointed rooms.
- 5/5
Nice property
- 4/5
Inside pool water was cold. I didn’t care for shower cause water got all over the floor
- 5/5
What you would expect for a pleasant place to stay for an upscale hotel! Room service for breakfast was excellent for the morning after my daughter’s wedding. Thank you, LS
- 4/5
Great location. Beautiful hotel. Wish the indoor pool was heated.
- 4/5

- 5/5
Love this hotel!
- 5/5
Beautiful classic hotel. Well-appointed interior design, comfortable elegant rooms. Excellent value for the price.
- 5/5
Charming and immaculate historic hotel. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Centrally located close to the historic area and other key spots are in easy walking distance.
- 4/5
Unfortunately the room smelt very 'doggie' and there were several suspicious looking yellow stains on the carpet. We should have asked for another room but we were on a tight schedule and only there for one night. Thankfully the beds were clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Clean room, the bar had good food, friendly staff
- 5/5
I was here for four nights for a conference with another attendee, and we enjoyed our stay. We wish that parking was included, paying even more on top of the conference cost and the high hotel bill was a bit much. We also never had our towels updated even though we had spoke to a cleaner in the hallway for more towels. We did not have the privacy button selected so I’m not sure why we never received fresh towels.
- 5/5
The common areas were inviting with nice private nooks. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and modern but the shower design did get the floor wet easily. The bed was comfortable, but there were no extra linens for the pull out. When we called, they only brought a sheet and couldn’t find a blanket. The pool was clean and nice, but not heated (personal preference) and the waterfall made it pretty loud. Overall, I’d stay again!
- 5/5
What breakfast menu?
- 5/5
This is the third time we’ve stayed here & we love everything about it.
- 5/5
The Hotel was great! Very clean, staff was excellent, and we enjoyed the hotel bar.
- 5/5
My favorite place to stay when visiting Chattanooga
- 5/5
Premier vintage hotel in Chattanooga.
- 5/5
The hotel and staff are spectacular! The room service is amazing and fairly priced would highly recommend. The location of The Read House is near many attractions.
- 3/5
2. Elevators are a problem. 3. TV/media in room setup is ancient. Good hotel. Slightly overpriced. Would not stay again, but it was fine.
- 5/5
Love everything about this hotel every time we stay there!
- 5/5
My family and I had a great time at this hotel. It was magnificent for our family of five very spacious in the heart of everything that we wanted to do. It was just perfect.
- 5/5
A Beautiful historical Hotel. Good drinks & friendly staff at their bar. The doorman, check-in staff & valet was well run & professional. Comfy beds, water pressure awesome in the shower, nice layout. Couldn’t get in the steak restaurant due to a buy out.
- 5/5
Clean room, plenty of towels provided, beds are comfortable.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Walking distance to a lot of activities and many restaurants. We used public parking next door
- 5/5
Great location Friend, accommodating staff. A++++++++++
- 5/5
We didn’t dine at the hotel, but that was only because there are so many great restaurants within walking distance. It’s a perfect location if you like having lots of options nearby. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
It was waaaay better than I expected. I can't wait to go back again!
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Good stay. I stayed in a corner room which was nice.
- 5/5
We received a suite upgrade. It was like staying in a small apartment. Staff was great and the pool area was beautiful and active.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and very clean. Had drinks two different nights at the hotel bar, staff was superior
- 5/5
Beautiful, historic hotel that is very convenient to many attractions. The indoor pool is great for kids and having a Starbucks in the hotel was a plus.
- 4/5
We found the bed and pillows to be uncomfortable. The room was clean and looked as good as the pictures on the website. You are downtown so outside noise can be heard from the 6th floor. Most of the car noise ended around midnight.
- 5/5
This hotel is awesome for its unique decor. Great restaurant and bar located in the hotel.
- 5/5
YES BAR HAD GOOD SELECTION
- 5/5
Loved it great for a quick family getaway
- 5/5
The perfect location to spend a weekend celebrating my wife’ birthday. We will definitely be back to make more memories at a FIRST CLASS VENUE Highly recommended
- 5/5
I just loved everything about this hotel, especially the staff!! I believe it was Jennifer (or Jessica) who was absolutely amazing!!
- 2/5
Our room was not up to par the bathroom needs help, the sink faucet moved , the toilet paper holder was broken and the toilet made a continuous noise we had to giggle the handle to shut it up. Our room was in front of hotel and the noise from local traffic was so loud we Did not get any sleep at all, we would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean room and nice staff!
- 5/5
Wonderful overall experience! From checking in and checking out. Great staff!
- 5/5
First time staying there but will return next opportunity-well maintained; comfortable: convenient Starbucks.
- 5/5
Such an amazing place! Thishotelnisfull of little books and crannies that are filled with history. The staff is awesome, the bar immaculate, the food is to die for.

The Read House was such an elegant place. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the food and drinks were great.
- 3/5
I had to fix a running toilet.
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 5/5
My wife and stayed here for weekend getaway. More than met our expectations. This is everything a hotel should be. 1920’s nostalgia, clean and spacious room and bathroom. Excellent service with the staff. Perfect location to restaurants and shopping. Thanks for a great weekend! We loved it
- 5/5
Such a cool hotel! Beautiful, historic, large nice rooms and baths, great bar. Cool vibes all around!
- 5/5
Best staff, culture and restaurant (by far) in Chattanooga. Stay at the others but live at the Read House! You may even find their ghost is better to hang out with than most people ,lol. Take the tour of 313 and get the history of the rest (Al Capone) during the best 30 min of education you can spend. If you can’t sleep, get up and walk around, the night shift security is some of the best folks you will ever meet. 6 stars!
- 5/5
The entire experience was amazing! The staff, the food, cleanliness, customer service, I could go on and on…. If u love history, this place is for you!!! It’s gorgeous and one of a kind! One thing is for sure- when I return I will be staying here!!!!
- 2/5
Additionally, shortly after I arrived in my room, someone entered without knocking. I reported this to the front desk, but nothing was done. It made me very uncomfortable, as I could have been changing or undressed at the time. I was also approached in the lobby by someone who appeared to be homeless and asked me to buy them coffee. I was surprised they were able to access the lobby, as it made the environment feel less secure. Overall, these situations made my stay less comfortable than expected. David at the front desk was incredible had alot of knowledge about the area and was very friendly!
- 5/5
Staff was amazing!!!

Wonderful stay. Amazing room upgrade.
- 5/5
Staff are amazing and accommodating. Room was beautiful… the entire property is astounding
- 3/5
The rooms were great and clean. I was expecting to stay in a historic hotel and to go from the lobby up to our rooms and the elevator doors open and its teal and bright didnt match with the rest of the hotel and threw off the vibe. I was very disappointed about not being told i wouldnt be in the historic part of the hotel. We were celebrating our anniversary and my birthday
- 5/5
The hotel staff was very accommodating on all fronts, and always had water available. The room was clean and well set up, the hvac was quiet and effective, and the bed was comfortable. Only negative was that the peloton bike in the gym had not been maintained, the screen did not turn on and the bike was rusty … maybe not important to many visitors but a peloton is something I look for when booking.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
The staff were exemplary! Welcoming, willing to do what was necessary to make your stay memorable. Suggestions for dining from the front desk were on point. Valets were most accomodating! You have a great staff.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Room request was accommodated at check in. Clean and beautiful hotel. So historic
- 5/5
This place is great, but they have an 11 am checkout. That is not so great.
- 5/5
Room was spotless, old but nice. Staff was wonderful
- 5/5
The hotel and staff were great! Clean Rooms updated and comfortable. Beautiful lobby and hotel.
- 5/5
The Read House is very classy place. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend this hotel. We upgraded to a tenth floor corner room which was immaculate. We dined at the Chophouse which is a bit pricey but the food was exceptional. Definitely a special occasions type place!
- 5/5
Great place to visit
- 5/5
Great room and friendly staff. You need to up your game if you are after business travelers. Two observations. One - Zero food available after 10pm is a problem for late arrivals or those working and losing track of the time. Even a bar menu would be an improvement from the current situation. Two - No desks/work lighting in room makes it almost impossible to prep for business the next day. The small round table and dining room chair were short of the mark. I ended up working at a game table in the lobby. Otherwise, no complaints. Love the character of the place and, again, staff were very nice.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful
- 5/5
This was such a classy stay! Loved every minute of it. Stunning hotel. Safe. Quiet. Fast check in. Accommodating. Staff were excellent! Clean. Rooms were fantastic and beds soft. Bar was great. Highly recommend! A 10/10! Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Loved exploring and seeing the architecture. Historic property was very well maintained. Staff was friendly and cocktails at the Billiard Room lobby bar were well-made with a nice selection. I would have appreciated a few more small touches that I have received at other comparible hotels -- nice robes to wear in the room, snacks & mini bar in room were not present, Chromecast was not functional. However, the area surrounding the hotel is very scenic with many restaurants and local spots to explore. Overall, a good experience.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and the rooms were clean and big. Comfortable bed!! Also could control the heat/air as I wanted. This was a 10/10 for me!!!!
- 5/5
The Read House is always perfect. From the rooms to the bar to the nostalgic atmosphere, you can't find a better hotel.
- 5/5
All good. Great front desk.
- 5/5
Room was great and the staff very helpful.
- 5/5
Everything! The staff was absolutely amazing, very professional and friendly. Our room was beautiful and spotless.
- 5/5
Outstanding historic hotel
- 5/5
Everyone that worked there was so friendly and helpful. Bar, restaurant and common areas were as comfortable as they were beautiful.
- 5/5
Room service was good
- 3/5
Hotel was average but the price was not. 😞
- 5/5
Very clean, very cool atmosphere, wish I had longer to stay!
- 5/5
Great!
- 4/5
Pretty good hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Really wish the bar had a better vibe. No music and just kinda zero vibe, despite being billed as a speakeasy.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and well supplied. Could have used a microwave. Staff were super accommodating and the hotel was beautiful. Loved the jazz piping throughout the lobby!
- 4/5
Housekeeping was done in the late afternoon and was anything but thorough.
- 4/5
Very clean room, friendly staff, really cool 20’s vibe all around. Only critique is the value regarding some of the on-site food options. My wife and I grabbed a quick appetizer at the Billiards bar but were really disappointed in the oysters for the price; drinks were also pretty pricey. Great stay overall!
- 5/5
Hotel is amazing. Beautifully decorated and very clean! Nothing could have been improved upon
- 4/5
Very noisy around hotel
- 5/5
Beautiful old charming hotel. Room was very spacious and comfortable.
- 5/5
Spacious room, friendly employees, great Christmas decor.
- 5/5
Staff very courteous.
- 5/5
We didn’t actually eat breakfast
- 5/5
Excellent Hotel
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. We had a wonderful stay.
- 5/5
Favorite hotel to stop in Chattanooga
- 5/5
The room was very spacious and comfortable.
- 5/5
A great hotel as a great hotel should be.
- 5/5
Staff and the outfits they wore, so cool.
- 4/5
Yes, we really enjoy it. We missed to have a microwave inside the room.
- 5/5
The proberty was in great shape. It was decorated for Christmas and it looked amazing. We had dinner at the Reed house. It was delicious and the staff were so accommodating.
- 5/5
A truly great experience
- 5/5
Exactly as advertised.
- 4/5
Classiest hotel in Chattanooga. The history of being there since the 1800’s but modernized to be so hi scale I feel it is unmatched for the price. Room was ultra modern with an unbelievable bathroom and a spacey bedroom with sitting area as well.
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel but could use some updating.
- 5/5
Room and staff are amazing
- 5/5
Great room best hotels for wedding & events.
- 5/5
Tremendous value. Wonderful elegant design and modern rooms! This is now our 'place to stay' for every trip to Chattanooga.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Love everything about this hotel! Gorgeous, beautiful, and friendly staff
- 5/5
Great bar! Great Bartender!
- 5/5
This place is great. I am happy for the main reasons, everyone at the Read House made us feel welcome. The cleanliness of the hotel is a real plus after a long day on the road. This place is realy really nice. Thank you all for a great stay, would definitely book again!
- 5/5
The room is beautiful. The bed is very comfortable. The staff was courteous and helpful. We like coming to Chattanooga for a night out.
- 5/5
Everyone was nice . Clean . Interesting
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, clean and well maintained rooms, great amenities and fabulous customer service
- 5/5
The Read House is a beautiful place to stay with a very friendly staff who wants to accommodate your needs.
- 5/5
Love. Love. Love this hotel!! We have stayed here many times. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. The hotel is always so clean and beautiful! The rooms are always clean and comfortable!
- 5/5
We had an exceptional stay at The Read Hotel! The hotel was elegant and beautifully decorated for the holiday season, and the staff were amazing! We are already looking forward to our next visit!
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming and helpful and the rooms were very spacious and very clean. The hotel itself is beautiful!
- 5/5
The rooms are nicely appointed and clean.
- 4/5
Overall was an amazing experience for our 1 night stay this time. Definitely want to come back
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful. We enjoyed dinner at the bar and the happy hour. Austen did a great job with the tour of the haunted room!
- 5/5
Their tower rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable size - would stay there again -
- 5/5
Always top notch
- 5/5
Room was great. Tanner was the best bartender in the hotel bar we have ever had!! It was an incredibly busy Friday night - he made everyone feel important and was very attentive, professional, and talented!
- 5/5
Excellent hotel, great room, very clean, fantastic climate control. The hotel itself is unbelievable, right out of history, I will stay there every time I’m in Chattanooga!
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel great staff inside …valet was disappointing and no electric charging. Beds are ok rooms annd bathrooms are above average. Beautiful building on the National Historic Register. Excellent dining! Central downtown location.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, great b
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful and staff friendly
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel!
- 5/5
Wonderful atmosphere, great staff and nice rooms
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
I loved the elegance of this historic property.
- 5/5
Yes.
- 5/5
The Read House is more then a place to lay your head after a day of exploring Chattanooga, it is an experience. We have stayed here multiple times in the historic portion of the hotel and each time had a wonderful stay. The staff is friendly. The lobby and public areas are beautifully decorated, transporting you to a different era. Centrally located it is walkable to all the attractions in the city yet not to close so you can get some quite time when you return to your spotlessly clean room and ultra comfortable bed. I cannot say enough good things about this historic hotel. You will not be disappointed if you choose this as your destination stay.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful, clean, will definitely be back!!
- 5/5
Beautiful room for an affordable price. Love the bar downstairs. Beautifully decorated for the holidays and a new pool.
- 5/5
I love the decor, the amenities and even though it appears to be not kid friendly, it a very kid friendly. Look forward to staying again
- 4/5
Beautiful room and amazing location
- 1/5
I asked to check in early. The room I was put in was horrible and a serious downgrade from what Im used to staying in when I come there. I was not happy at all, but I was to tired to wait.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel with huge rooms and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved everything about this hotel;)
- 5/5
2nd time here. Great bar!
- 4/5
It’s important to specify which side of the hotel you want to book. One side is very very nice.m and other side is not as clean, moldy, and dusty. Once we were moved — the accommodations were lovely.
- 4/5
The hotel was beautiful in the lobby area. Staff was super nice and helpful. The team doing valet parking also great and fast. The room itself was not impressive. It was just a room and that was kind of a bummer. Clean and everything was there but it had no feeling like the lobby.
- 5/5
Beautiful!!
- 5/5
This hotel is fabulous! Checking was a breeze, the man at the front desk asked us if we had any preferences on what our room should be like…not by the elevator, high floor, low floor, corner room? The room is beautiful and clean and super elegant. The bed is comfortable and the air in the room is fresh and clean. The bathroom is beautiful and clean.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Very clean and sizable rooms.
- 5/5
The hotel was very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
Great and helpful staff. Large rooms.
- 4/5
The hotel was beautiful! Staff was kind and accommodating. The only reason I am giving 4 stars and not five is for the bathroom. The hotel is under renovation in certain parts. We stayed in the manor section. The room was very nice. I did not notice a musty smell or feel a dampness as some others describe. The bathroom was small and in need of an update. You could tell the shower walls and bathtub had been resurfaced many times. If the bathroom had been updated, it would have been 5 stars. Over all a very pleasant stay and I would gladly stay here again. Very convenient to many things down town.
- 5/5
Everything! This was our 4th visit, as always, it was wonderful.
- 2/5
The room was dingy to begin with. The bed was wet and I didn't realize until it had soaked through my pajamas. It was very loud and could hear everything around me. Not an enjoyable stay.
- 5/5
I got an upgrade to an extraordinary room and the building was filled with beautiful art.
- 5/5
Very clean and staff was great! Loved it
- 2/5
The bathroom was completely unfinished. Shower stall did not have tile completed on floor. Mold around the bottom o shower stall. Wood holding sink not painted. Floor flooded when taking shower because shower curtain had not been placed & was a foot off floor. Causing possible danger of slipping!!! We went down to English Pub for a relaxing glass of wine. And due to a convention of loud noisy men drinking, my wife had men’s butts in her face & they were very rude! We understand hotels have to make money when they can, but they have to respect other guests also. The people they were very nice at the hotel so we did not make a scene. But it was not the experience we expected!
- 5/5
Unique and clean
- 5/5
Returned because I love the historic setting
- 5/5
Amazing old world nostalgia! Great rooms and service every time we come to Chattanooga for a visit.
- 5/5
Excellent service , excellent location .
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
always a wonderful stay
- 5/5
The hotel was beyond reproach. Everything was beautiful and the history was impressive! What a lovely place to stay. We will definitely be staying again.
- 5/5
Very beautiful hotel! Everyone was so nice and friendly. Definitely will be staying here again in the future.
- 5/5
It’s in a nice quiet area, but close enough to lovey bars and restaurants However the only downside was somewhere to get breakfast in the morning. There is a Starbucks onsite and a small cafe around the corner There is valet parking or a car park opposite the hotel In all an excellent hotel
- 5/5
Vibe of the hotel was wonderful
- 5/5
The entire hotel is absolutely gorgeous! Our room was immaculate! The hotel staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional. The one regret is we did not stay longer! Wish we had more time to try the restaurant and bar!
- 4/5
Room was clean, toilet water ran. Asked for extra shampoo and conditioner since my husband and I were sharing. They only gave us 1 extra. Really needed 2.
- 5/5
Gorgeous old building, just a beautiful hotel! Slight upkeep needed in the rooms (a threadbare patch of carpet, small spots of chipped vaneer, hole in sheet), but overall lovely. Front desk staff were super friendly. We plan to stay there again next time we’re in Chattanooga!
- 5/5
Everything about the stay was fabulous except for the valet situation. It was an absolute nightmare to get parked and get checked in. We had to circle the block 5 times before being able to get out of the car and get checked in. The valet attendants were great, but something needs to be figured out about this issue.
- 4/5
The room was just OK but the 2 bars and restaurants were great.
- 5/5
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the room was spacious and clean. I’ve been spoiled, and I will have to stay here every time I come to Chattanooga!
- 5/5
The team at the front desk and valet always with smiles and helpful. The bar staff were great as well. This was a very welcoming experience for us to spend our 35th wedding anniversary.
- 5/5
What a beautiful property and superb location!
- 5/5
Great hotel with a great restaurant.
- 5/5
Always wonderful..top notch!
- 5/5
Twas good
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel, with reasonable rates. Valet parking only is a bit pricey, but is well performed with the option of in and out parking. Our room was small, but very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
The bar and staff are great - creative and fun drinks. Beautiful hotel
- 5/5
The hotel is very nice and always clean. The exceptional bar/ service staff keep us coming back. Tanner, Taylor, Nate, Will,Barry always treat us like family and take great care of us.
- 1/5
The sound of water running through pipes for the entire stay was really unpleasant, there is also public parking across the street from the hotel, I did not know this until I heard valet sending another guest across the street, after I’d already been charged $80. I also called guest services, and waited three hours for a response. Service is not at the level you would expect from a nice hotel like this is striving to be.
- 3/5
Nice hotel, friendly service. Room was dated and disappointing for the price. Tub was yellow and grungy. Furniture was quite old. Our room was across from the ice machine and vending machine room which was very loud late into the night.
- 5/5
Room service breakfast was delicious. The bar area is cozy and staff are pleasant and professional.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful
- 5/5
Great property, great service at the bar and excellent cocktails. Well appointed comfortable rooms.
- 4/5
With taxes, valet parking service wayyy tooo expensive. Room had a wooden bench at the foot of bed. Needs to be elsewhere as I broke a toe when I bumped into it in the middle of the night . Ruined our anniversary trip
- 5/5
Great stay as always
- 4/5
Awesome room, beautiful lobby , free wifi, easy valet parking, Starbucks in the lobby
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in a great location. This place is a gem. I’ll be back.
- 5/5
From the doorman who was so cheerful, to the front desk who kept us up to date on the area, to the fun flappers in the cafe, we enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
All staff was super friendly and helpful. We stayed in the room next to the Haunted Room, so that was a fun bonus for the kids. **Only thing I wish is if they put more hooks in the bathroom to hang up multiple towels.
- 5/5
Hotel is beautiful, staff is always kind and super helpful, we love staying here
- 5/5
Lovely historic hotel. Very friendly accommodating staff. Easy walk to the riverfront. Starbucks in the building is a bonus.
- 4/5
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom looked like it was newly renovated. The indoor pool was extremely cold and disappointing. We ate at the bar and the food was very good. It was fun to get a private tour of room 311!
- 5/5
Only stay here
- 5/5
Love this place!
- 5/5
Amazing! Love the place!
- 5/5
Hotel was very well maintained and beautifully decorated. Room was very clean and beds were incredibly comfortable. Was slightly loud on weekend nights outside the hotel but that is to be expected in a downtown location! Loved that Starbucks had it's own entrance from the hotel and the pool was very clean as well. Good location for walking to many restaurants. Valet service was excellent and timely. Will definitely be staying here again.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! Great food. Beautiful hotel. Staff were nice. Clean. Convenient to area.
- 5/5
All around a great place to stay!
- 5/5
Very clean and neat. The coffee was very good.
- 5/5
LOVE the Read House!
- 5/5
The only inconvenience was that the only breakfast option during the work week is Starbucks. We did order the weekend breakfast available at the hotel and it was great. Plus, it should be noted that there are good breakfast options within a 3-5 block walking distance. But, if you need breakfast during the week in the hotel, options are limited. I definitely recommend The Read House and we will stay here again on future visits.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and great staff. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Love the location and the hotel decor/feel. I would stay here again for sure. Very convenient to all the shops and restaurants. We didn't need a car all weekend.
- 5/5
Our room. Great mattress!!
- 4/5
The room fridge was not cold enough. Didn’t see how to turn it up. The bathtub need the enamel redone. Quite a few chips Also bathroom door needs a new paint job. Chips on that. Other than that Staff was very good. Lobby atmosphere is great
- 5/5
The property itself is immaculate. There was a bit of a challenge finding things to do in the immediate area though
- 5/5
What an amazing hotel!! Great staff, elegance, pool, food/bar!!
- 5/5
Our stay at The Read House was amazing! The hotel is beautiful, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and everything was spotless. The historic charm mixed with modern comfort made it unforgettable, I can’t wait to come back!
- 5/5
The hotel is centrally located and is 2 mins by car from restaurants and bars. We would certainly recommend this hotel.
- 3/5
The staff was super friendly. But we were in an older tower of the hotel and it kind of gave me “converted hospital” vibes. That said, the common areas of the hotel are beautiful and very well designed. Next time we stay there, I will be requesting the other side of the hotel.
- 5/5
Had a wonderful time
- 5/5
Perfect location for the Ironman! Very friendly and helpful staff. Only problems were no privacy shade in the bathroom 😳 I showered in the dark. 😆
- 4/5
Loved the theme of the hotel. What I would have liked would be a microwave in the room.
- 5/5
We used valet parking.
- 5/5
We’re having a great time. Beautiful hotel. Lovely room. Helpful staff!
- 3/5
It is a beautiful hotel. The front desk was knowledgeable and kind. Our room was a let down though. It was really damp. The floor felt damp, there was visible condensation on the inside of the windows. The bathroom was very small but thats easily overlooked knowing its a historic hotel. The bathtub however looked like the enamel or paint was peeling badly. I would not let my son take a bath in that. We toughed it out because we spent most of our time out of the room amd didn't want the hassle of requesting a room change. If possible I recommend not staying in the manor house area.
- 4/5
This is a beautiful hotel, well maintained. The front desk staff and valet staff are quite good.
- 2/5
Hotel conditions absolutely not in accordance with the price that is charged. I intend never to stay again. A great disappointment. One of the worst ROI for a hotel I have stayed in my travels around the world.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic property with amazing decor
- 5/5
Very accommodating staff. Beautiful historical building.
- 5/5
Staff at the front desk were very helpful and pleasant.
- 5/5
Everything was nice.
- 4/5
N/A
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Second time here and will stay again when we return to Chattanooga.
- 5/5
The hotel is lovely and the service has been great so far. The staff are friendly and courteous. The hotel is clean and in a great location. We’ve used the valet parking and would highly recommend using it. Worth the cost because you have to pay for parking no matter where you park.
- 2/5
I booked a room at The Read House and they gave us a room at the Manor "at the Read House" which is connected at the Read House lobby. It was terrible. I paid a premium at price for The Read House and got a third class hotel. The staffs response was essentially the Read House is fully booked and too bad for you.
- 5/5
Awesome stay for a great price. Beautiful hotel.
- 5/5
Loved the room service options for breakfast and the room was perfect. Beautiful stay
- 5/5
Quick one-night stay in this remarkable building from the old era with modern amenities and an outstanding restaurant. The pool was closed, unfortunately, although the Garden Terrace area was enjoyable. The lobby of this hotel is so inviting and comfortable. The rooms were updated and very large with more than enough space. In fact, the bathroom was massive.
- 5/5
The Read House is absolutely wonderful.
- 4/5
Alot of history in the Hotel. Very well appointed, and very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Such a beautiful hotel. We went back in time and enjoyed pure luxury. Toured room 311, infamous ghost Annalisa. The bar and billiards were fun. The surrounding area has lots to offer and walkable. All staff were so attentive. Enjoyed the history. Already planning a trip to return and have family join. Thank you.
- 4/5
Hotel lobby was very extravagant but our room was outdated. They had done wallpaper and little furnishings to make it seem less out of date. Bath tub was dingy, lots of needed paint to cover scuffs etc. our first night we got the shampoo and it looked like half of it had been used already so we threw it away. Staff very nice and the valet guys go above and beyond. Kids loved the pool but it didn’t seem heated at all. Starbucks was a plus! But the steakhouse is definitely not kid friendly, more of a date night spot.
- 4/5
Great location. Friendly staff and comfortable. Decor a bit dated
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel and great staff. The bar and restaurant were great too
- 3/5
I began my visit with a nice greeting by the door man.
- 5/5
Excellent and classy hotel.
- 5/5
Stag was very friendly and helpful. The room is very nice.
- 5/5
Great staff, room and service. Be careful of service fees when tipping.
- 5/5
Beautiful property
- 5/5
Staff and the hotel were awesome. The shower in our bathroom was not that great for the price and we did have an issue with one of the two elevators being out of service on one of the days. Even so, it was a great stay and would come back again!
- 1/5
We had an okay check-in experience. We used the valet for our vehicle (more to come on that) They’d charged the full stay on a card they didn’t confirm. Reservation said full stay would be charged at check-in, it was charged before we ever arrived. That has to be refunded and fixed. So, word of advice, only reserve with the card you wish to pay for the entire stay with or you may be put in a bind. The room was good. It’s cute. Smelled a little musty/old when we walked in. Didn’t pay much attention to that since it is an old building. Once the air was going, that got better. We had dinner reservations downstairs @ Bridgestone Chophouse. That was an amazing experience. Start to finish. Got Starbucks downstairs the next morning. Super convenient. You don’t even have to step outside. Highly recommend both. We left just before the 11am check-out time. You text them that you are out of the room & leave your keys inside your room. Super easy. We get our vehicle from valet. As soon as I sat in the driver seat I knew something was off. Tons of papers and stuff in the passenger floor board. We never left it like that. I start looking around & can tell things were moved. The console was completely ransacked, along with the glove box. The back of the SUV was completely flipped upside down where everything had been gone through. The valet guy has been brought over at this point & immediately tells my boyfriend “yeah we’ve been having some issues lately” Nobody said a word. Avoid valet!!!!
- 5/5
Staff excellent offered me a slightly bigger room for a few dollars more.
- 5/5
Love this place & everything about it except for the beds. They are way too soft and I didn’t sleep well- other than that five stars.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel. Picture cannot do this palace justice. Friendly staff, clean, wonderful food, great location. Perfect for a date night.
- 5/5
Super nice very elegant
- 5/5
The room felt a bit dated but overall a lovely hotel.
- 5/5
One of our favorite properties in the country.
- 1/5
Housekeeping started knocking on at 830! Front desk was very rude about it! Blaming me for it! I will not be back
- 5/5
I was surprised how nice, clean and wonderful staff.
- 5/5
The Read House is still a classic hotel gem in downtown Chattanooga. And the area around the hotel is outstanding.
- 5/5
Price and quality of establishment
- 5/5
Well maintained and excellent dining
- 5/5
The Read house is a fantastic hotel. I live near by but still stay when i have a big night on the town.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Cool vibe and one of the most comfortable beds I've tried.
- 5/5
The parking was not the easiest. Used the valet service and they very professional and courteous. The over all experience was very delightful. Would stay there again
- 5/5
A little noisy at night if you’re not in an interior room but a great place to stay, restaurants are walkable or short uber ride.
- 5/5
Jared and Jennifer at front desk we do helpful !!
- 5/5
First of all, Edward was the most helpful person I have met. He knew that I did not know what I was doing and he walked me through step by step and then gave me a glass of Champaign. The room service, I ordered a cheeseburger and it was as good as it gets. 100% on the entire visit.
- 5/5
We loved this hotel! It was a beautiful experience. They did a great job of the restoration and keeping the historical charm. Would recommend this place to anyone staying in Chattanooga. The staff was wonderful, very affordable and the restaurant was amazing. 10 out of 10❤️❤️❤️
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
The Read House hotel is very fancy and beautiful charm. This historic hotel has a lot of offer and the staff is very welcoming! We booked another night to stay!
- 5/5
EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE.
- 5/5
Very classy spot, lacking a lavish breakfast but offering large, well set up room with comfi bed and quiet
- 4/5
Hotel has a nice vibe overall. The style is a good mix of vintage and modern. The room itself was adequate and nicely furnished. Nothing special. The TV system is severely outdated offering only cable channels and Showtime. Starbucks next door was good. Super expensive forced valet was not great, but expected.
- 5/5
It was like being in the 1920's.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay
- 5/5
Great location, great hotel amenities, great staff
- 5/5
Great classic Hotel with classic luxury feel. Service was high level.
- 5/5
We loved how beautiful everything is
- 5/5
I hope I have a chance to visit Chattanooga again. Just love, love this hotel. The staff, amenities, decor…fabulous! Charm is next level!
- 5/5
BEAUTIFUL AND FULL OF HISTORY. AWESOME STAFF
- 5/5
All was great!
- 5/5
Very histoic hotel. Cool furnishings, great food, nice and clean. Friendly staff!
- 5/5
Loved our room. Loved the absolutely amazing lobby, pool, billiards room,etc...We felt like we were in the 1920s , the decor, the outfits worn by staff, the valet parking, etc... central to all the attractions. Room service was nice. Only downsides...no microwaves, expensive valet parking, yet so worth it!
- 5/5
Lovely property and great staff! Our room was beautiful and we would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Charming, historical. Convenient location

We loved our stay at the read house. As soon as we entered and saw the lobby we were blown away by the beauty of it.

Loved this hotel. It was very convenient to everything in Chattanooga. The staff was very friendly.

For the ratings on Expedia I guess i over expected. The shower had mold around the edges of the tub. The shower drain wouldn’t drain we had to talk to the engineers to unstop at night. The power of the side table on my side did not have power and the dresser that the TV was in was in some disrepair. The staff told me they were planning to remodel that rooom. There were others available. Why not put us in one of those.

I love that a company has chosen to save a historic building and keep it in the period with modern touches. Beautiful building!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel! All the staff was very friendly, convenient valet parking and great location.

Ants in the room. Three times the hotel was called to take care of it and failed. They just simply removed a waste basket. There were ants in the bed and crawling on bathroom sink. Disgusting and sad.

Stay was great

The room wasn’t that clean. The shower had some mold and the air conditioning was either on or off so the room was either freezing or hot. Very expensive hotel and was expecting a very expensive experience

This room was pretty great. We stayed in the older part of the hotel. The rooms were so spacious and beds were comfortable. The bathroom's aesthetic was lovely, a vinatge nod to the past but very modern at the same time. The shower had good water pressure. The staff at check in were very welcoming.

I had high expectations for The Read House and it delivered for sure! The whole experience was amazing. The lobby is beautiful with fresh flowers and beautiful decor. There is so much to explore on the first floor from their restaurant on site to the beautiful bar to billiards room. Our room was impeccable. The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness of the room. Not only did it smell amazing, it was spotless. The bathroom was huge and CLEAN! Same thing for the bedroom. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say. If you’re thinking of booking a room just do it. I can say with confidence you’ll be glad you did!

It was a fabulous stay and a beautiful hotel. Will definitely return!

Very beautiful hotel. The 33 parking fee seems way too much.

Great hotel property. Beautiful pool, new, novel, clean. Restaurants on site. Front desk tried to upsell me $30 for a room with a view. When I declined they said they had to upgrade me anyway. Deceptive. Chattanooga has a bad homeless and drug problem. It’s all over the place. So the area doesn’t feel safe. I’m a strong, fit man with self defence training. I didn’t love waking down MLK boulevard…other than that the hotel itself is very nice..
