I liked the layout of the hostel and how close it was to the music venues.

- the outside area was great - the sink in the room was convenient - the common/kitchen area had a lot to offer - great location - The walls are paper-thin. Our neighbors were extremely loud all night. I would be surprised if others didn’t also complain. You hear everything, which made it uncomfortable to speak loudly. The shows or parties going on nearby were also heard every night. Some vents also directly connect to the hallway, allowing for shared audio from all parties. Not a good design. - it takes a while for the water to get hot so showers took longer than expected

Mens bathroom was not too clean

We stayed in one of the private rooms and it was really great. Love the personal sink in the room! Free parking was great and they let us store our bikes inside overnight which made us feel a bit safer about having them with us. Noise between the rooms was a little tough, but I think that definitely varies with different guests and voice levels. Overall not a problem, but more something to be aware of.
- 3/5
Oven, Fridge, coffee maker and other kitchen appliances need to be kept clean after each guest. Also, provide cleaning products for counter top in kitchen. Toaster was dusty.

Nothing

This was an absolutely great hostel, it had all the basic amenities but a tonne of extras that made the stay exceptional. Having stayed in a million hostels in Europe I was very surprised to find such a good example in the US.

I have no idea how this place has such high ratings. Although initially the check in clerk was kind and somewhat helpful, my stay at this hostel was disgustingly bad. I opted for a private room which was actually not even close to what the misleading ad boasted. It was very hot with no thermostat to adjust the temperature and it was also very dirty. The entire place smelled like the combination of a filthy college dorm room and a musty locker room. It was rather disgusting. I booked the room to get a good nights sleep and got none at all due to the combination of several disheartening matters. First of all, as I stated, the room was very hot with no thermostat. Then there was the continual noise from an entry/exit door next to my room which had a loud clanking lock mechanism that sounded off constantly throughout the night as people went in and out. The room was not sound proof at all. Worst of all, after lying on the bed for a while I began to feel itchy bites from something (bed bugs maybe?) all over my body. After a full sleepless night of this ridiculousness, around 6am I eagerly rushed take a shower to wash off whatever was biting me in my bed and in less than five minutes the shower water was ice cold. I sincerely do not care to write such a critical review but the truth is that this place was terribly misrepresented online and it was so bad that I honestly would have been happier to have slept outside in a tent at a local campground.

super clean, awesome location, hip modern look, love this spot!!! parking not clear
- 5/5
The place was clean, organized and safe!! The owners and staff were very helpful Loved it!!
- 5/5
Great location, facilities, and free complimentary stuff they offer such as Coffee, and earplugs to sleep. The beds are clean and comfortable, shared bathrooms are clean. The only missing thing with this hostel is free parking, but there are plenty of options nearby to park, of course, you need to pay for it - I spent between 4 pm on the arrival day to the next day around 11 AM $30.
- 4/5
It was ok for the price.
- 5/5
Really lovely hostel beautifully designed and very practical. The shared shower room was very clean and with helpful hints posted within as well as washable face cloths instead of disposable. The bed was very comfortable but the stand out aspect of my stay was Will the manager who couldn't have been more helpful. I arrived a day later than planned due to a car accident and Will couldn't have been more helpful. The hostel shares space with the Flying Squirrel next door owned by the same people I ahd delicious food and drinks there also ver stylish and with good service. Would definetely recommend a stay here, also great restaurants and a dog park within minutes walk. I should also add the grounds are lovely with a fire pit, barbeque and interesting planting. Brilliant for either a solo traveller or groups/couples.

The private room was lovely. If a little cold due to air con. But you can always get more blankets. Bed super comfy. The location was the key though, the bar next door is awesome for food and drink and alot of the cool pubs and bars are within a 5 minute walk! When I went it was a little quiet so the social side wasn't amazing, but as I say, I went out of peak times so not surprising.
- 5/5
It is located in an area with several restaurants and bars¿perfect for those who want to enjoy an evening out! Despite it being in that area, we had no issues with noise and were able to get a good nights rest. We would definitely come back!

I absolutely love this hostel! It’s nice and clean and the staff is really friendly and helpful ! I’ve stayed here a few times since the 1st time. As a solo female traveler I would say 10/10 recommend!

Exceptional

Traveling with a family of five this couldn’t have been more perfect. Great location with excellent restaurants within a short walk and room set-up was perfect for our group.
- 5/5
Overall really awesome place. The building is just a few years old and has a modern, simple and elegant design to it that I liked. Service was good, though bear in mind they leave at 9pm. It was a little hard to find at first. It's behind the Flying Squirrel restaurant. You want the gravel driveway off Passenger St.
- 5/5
The host Elliott was absolutely delightful to talk with and learn about hiking the local trails. Really a good local find.
- 2.5/5
Breakfast is self catering. If on the road not prepared Spouse didn't want to use the communal shower facilities

CrashPad felt like home away from home. Simple but bright and airy, great location next to Flying Squirrel also owned by CrashPad. We would have loved to use the Fire ring outdoor area but we’re in town for a race with limited time. Somehow concrete floors seem so much cleaner than carpet… there was some stray crumbs and confetti from prior guests but minimal. We like the LEED certified simplicity and design - bathroom could use a new coate of paint but not a big deal. Thank you for the fun and unique stay, a welcomed concept which made our Chattanooga experience much better than prior visits to this town.
- 5/5
Came to the Crash Pad for a climbing competition and was not disappointed! The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly
- 4/5
The location was perfect, it was very clean, bed was comfortable. But, they no longer offer free breakfast or a manager’s reception.
- 5/5
The place is awesome. Hard time to do check in. They are never around there.
- 5/5
Clean and great facilities perfect location Everything this place is a must
- 4.5/5
Great cozy hostel, nice outdoor setting, fully equipped kitchen. Was pretty empty when we went but I'm sure it's even nicer with people around! A light for the upper bed in the Queen room would be great!
- 4/5
It was very clean.
- 4/5
Great place to stay, great location. Definitely recommend.
- 5/5
As far as the location -- it couldn't have been better. There were restaurants and bars right there. And, if I wanted to head into town, it was easily walkable or I rented a bike. I will stay there again for sure!
- 5/5
I had a great stay at this property and it was my first stay at a hostel. The Crash Pad offers bunk style beds and private room options. It’s located in a great area with lots of great restaurants in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Bathrooms clean. Bed comfy. Outdoor patio nice for socializing.
- 5/5
This place is definitely one of a kind! It was my first hostel experience and I enjoyed it even though I was reluctant when booking. I needed an affordable and safe place to stay and this was exactly what I needed. I loved having dinner next door at the Flying Squirrel and the surrounding area is absolutely amazing. It’s a fantastic location! Which consequently makes parking a bit of a headache, but it’s worth it. I had to park in a nearby parking garage the first night, but got a free spot behind the building the second night. Comfortable, clean, and love how eco-friendly it is! Definitely recommend!

- 5/5
The Crashpad was very nice. My only complaint is, my room was hot. Other than that, it's a great place. I'd stay again.
- 5/5
Wife and I were in town for one night to see son and his family. Crash Pad was close by and perfect for us. Good accommodation. Will stay at the "Pad" during my next stay in Chattanooga. Good job!
- 5/5
My only regret - I didn’t notice the hats for purchase earlier! I saw them on my last night as I headed out for a wedding dinner & thought I’d return early enough to purchase. My loss! ***You honestly can’t go wrong choosing to stay at The Crash Pad!
- 5/5
Fantastic location, little funky figuring out the doors and parking and foyer and etc, but a good experience overall. The showers ran out of hot water and maybe it was just cooties, but they seemed dirty. Nothing serious. As I said, overall, it was a good experience.
- 5/5
Super cute hostel! We loved our stay here! The located was great, close to many dinings and shops. The staff was helpful and welcoming. Our room was very clean, the beddings are comfy. Only thing worth to mention is that the room was not very sound proof, we can hear our next door neighbor talking and walking. Other than that, it was great!
- 5/5
Was convenient to everything.
- 5/5
Better than most hotels!
- 5/5
The Crash Pad is in a fabulous location — several great restaurants within walking distance. For lower budget travel, the Crash Pad is a great option.
- 5/5
I stay here often whether I'm just passing through or spending a few days. The beds are very comfortable and private for a hostel. Free storage and locks. Very secure. Walking distance to food, drinks, and things to do. Free parking. There are larger private rooms available for couples or families. The onsite, outside grilling area and fire pit is amazing.
- 4/5
The hotel is really a hostel, with hallway baths and everything. However it is advertised as such so that should not be a surprise. It was very quiet and very clean. The mattresses were comfortable. But if you need amenities this is not the place to go. My only real complaint was there was no staff on site in the morning when we were leaving to assist if we needed anything. We wanted to purchase a couple of things and couldn’t. And having access to some coffee would have been a plus.
- 5/5
Location is awesome! We walked everywhere and enjoyed the city!
- 5/5
Took one hot shower and one cold one. Second one started out hot and just gave up on me halfway through. Not sure what that was about, as they have a tankless water heater, but no big deal. I’ll stay there again for sure.
- 5/5
Comfortable and convenient.
- 5/5
Great place to stay! It’s very clean and in a great location.
- 5/5
We have never stayed at a hostel and felt like trying something new, an adventure. This place was so hospitable in every way. We stayed in the Super Queen room which is a private room. We loved it. The room was spectacularly clean! We had a loft and and a queen bed, plus a sink. We loved the gas lit fireplace outside. The Flying Squirrel gives guest a %20 discount, too (make a reservation for NO wait and delicious food)! We will stay here again. Great, walkable location.
- 5/5
Not used to sharing living space no privacy, showers even tolietries could not get used tp that
- 5/5
Peaceful stay in a wonderful neighborhood. Stayed in a private room and felt at home.
- 4/5
I was in Chattanooga with a trail running camp and it was an awesome place to Crash. Sat by the fire a couple of nights. Some great eateries close by. I enjoyed my first ever hostel stay.
- 5/5
We are a family of 7 with two pets and relocating from Florida to Colorado. This was a great place to stay and the Hemingway room had space for us all. I wish we’d had time and weather that allowed us to enjoy the outdoor space because that was bonus beautiful. The only hiccup was parking since we’re driving a suburban and hauling a car trailer. We didn’t realize how small the parking area was until we were in it. We managed to get turned around and out (which would NOT have happened if there were more guests) and went over to the public lot on the other side of the building. We checked again before having to add money and found that the parallel spaces that non-guests had parked in for the neighboring bar had vacated so we were able to move the whole thing back. We were then able to carefully back the whole rig out onto the street in the morning. This was necessary bc another car parked in the center of the back area making a turnaround impossible. If you’re driving a normal vehicle, the parking should be fine.
- 5/5
This was a wonderfully cute place! Loved how clean and modern it felt, and even though things were out of the norm due to Covid, the experience was great. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the location can’t be beat- walking distance too lots of restaurants, etc. (and some of those were still open despite Covid). Love the key fab access on doors and the fact they provide you a lock and key area to keep your stuff! Highly recommend!!
- 5/5
The hostel has thought of everything for convenience and comfort!
- 4/5
IT was a pleasant stay after going to a wonderful concert. Thank you for a wonderful stay
- 5/5
My 2nd time staying at the crash pad great both times.
- 5/5
It is a full service place , in a great area, with friendly and helpful staff. I will go back again for sure.
- 5/5
Loved the location and the Hemingway Suite was perfect for our overnight girl trip.
- 3/5
This place was...... interesting. When they say it is a hostel; they are not exaggerating. As far as hostels go, I suppose it is wonderful. Everyone was nice and the room was clean. Be very clear on the fact that this is NOT a hotel but a hostel. Google the word and understand the difference. It will make for a nice story for us though.
- 5/5
Because this is a hostel, people sometimes make noise as they come in and out of the sleeping areas at nighttime. So if you aren't a very sound sleeper, you'll want to get a private room.
- 5/5
We've wanted to stay at the Crash Pad every time we've been through Chattanooga previously, and our visit certainly did not disappoint! We're already in agreement:we'll be staying at the Crash Pad as much as we can in the future!
- 5/5
I need ed slippers that I didn't have. :)
- 4/5
Staff were very friendly and helpful, facility is clean and modern, lots of discounts at area restaurants. Downsides were the community bathroom and kitchen (thought our private room had a bathroom but it didn't; could be Expedia's fault for the description not sure) as well as a small parking lot. I think there might be 1 room that is actually private (Hemingway Suite maybe) otherwise this is not a great option for couples or families. Singles or groups of friends would find it useful as the location is awesome for walking distance to area hotspots and entertainment.
- 5/5
The staff was outstanding in their service. The rooms were very comfortable
- 5/5
Her clean, comfy, and surprisingly private for a hostel environment. The bunks are completely enclosed with a privacy curtain that covers the entire opening. A mounted fan in your bunk provides extra air if needed. A wooden shelf with several outlets is ready for all your electronics. Very safe feeling. Great staff. A fair amount of walkable activities nearby.
- 5/5
I was really surprised at how quiet it was. I had one of the private rooms on a Friday night and a lot was going on outside but very quiet inside.
