The room was fantastic. The staff and especially the young woman at the bar friendly, attentive and made me feel "at home"...

More than I had expected.

the reservation stated that breakfast was included, but the hotel does not serve breakfast. the pillows were too thick and hard. not enough places to open the luggage on

Location for UVA Alumni events was excellent. VERY OVERPRICED. It's NOT the Ritz Carlton but the prices were like it was Nice hotel....very overpriced

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at the Draftsman as part of our honeymoon. The staff were excellent, the breakfast was lovely and the valet parking was quick and convenient. The location was perfect for exploring Charlottesville and close to plenty of places to eat and drink. We’d happily stay again if we were back in the area!

Friendliest staff ever. From the valet parking, restaurant, housekeeping and front desk every one made sure you were taken care of. Bathroom shower was smart and beautiful, beds comfortable. The location was perfect for visiting UVA campus.

Very positive experience staying at the hotel. Location was great for us (just down from The Corner) and walking distance to the downtown area and grounds. Staff were very courteous and accommodating. Valet team were amazing and always ready to help. Room was modern, clean and spacious. We also ate in the hotel restaurant (The Ridley) which was very good. All in all we were impressed with the hotel on many levels and will stay again when we are back in town. really don't have anything to fault the hotel on. They were experiencing issues with one of the elevators whilst we were there. Hotel staff were very accommodating and made it work with the minimum disruption to us which was appreciated.

It was ok , bathroom smelled like mildew, the bed was clean and rest of room clean.i was expecting a better experience for the price.

The staff were pleasant and attentive. Kudos to the Valet attendants as they were always on time and on point during the entire stay. Will definitely be returning!

Had a great stay. The location was superb and the staff was very helpful overall.

That said- the price point does* match the location. We were able to walk toward the mall or campus easily and it was in a great area. Staff was nice and rooms were comfortable.

I cannot say enough about the amazing staff at this hotel. My family and I were in town for my daughter's medical procedure, and the team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable and stress-free as possible. From the warm welcome at check-in to the thoughtful accommodations they made for us, we truly felt cared for during a difficult time. Their kindness and willingness to assist us with every need was deeply appreciated. I highly recommend this hotel not just for the quality of the facilities, but for the exceptional service provided by the staff.

I love this hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Bedding, linens, towels -- all top notch. Staff are extremely kind, thoughtful and helpful - from the front desk to the bartenders to the valet parking folks. . . just a pleasure all around. I will be back! :-)

The hotel did not honor a reservation that was already paid for and booked the day before. They called me at 830 pm and did not even apologize. Hard to believe.

Great Stay

This property was great for us as we stayed here to move our daughter into first year college life. We will be staying again in the future!

The staff was generally quite good, but special thanks to Cynthia for getting us checked-in efficiently and pleasantly, and the housekeeping and maintenance staff for taking care of an issue that arose in the room. The hotel is clean, quiet and convenient to UVA campus, medical facilities and some nice coffee shops and restaurants.

Ballet parking takes too long

This is my second time at the Draftsman. It is a really nice hotel that is clean and nicely appointed. The staff is very friendly, but not in your face and seems genuine. I would definitely stay here again.

We liked everything. The restaurant was good. It was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. We recommend this hotel as the hub for exploring Charlottesville.

Lovely hotel! We had a less than stellar dinner at the Ridley—the food was fine but the service was slow and wildly uneven, with appetizers and dinner arriving at the same time and a loooong wait for the dessert. I would stay at the Draftsman again but I would not return to the restaurant.

the facilities were beautiful, the location near UVA and the downtown mall were perfect, the food at the Ridley was delicious, and the service and staff throughout hotel and restaurant, front office, etc. were very welcoming and friendly. definitely would come back!

Total let down. Upon arrival late in the evening, we were told there were no rooms for us due to issue with HVAC. Hotel had made no attempt to contact us in advance, so there was no way to make other arrangements. Sent us to a 2-star hotel where we found our room had already been slept in. Draftsman should have made arrangements for comparably rated accommodation. Needless to say, it was a very disappointing experience, especially from a hotel so highly rated.

I Did not like the wait time for the restaurant restaurant downstairs after they seated me 40 minutes just to start getting you a drink And waited for an 45 minutes for the lobby coffee to be refilled

The Draftsman has an interesting and unique architectural style with clean, pleasant rooms. It also offers a superb dining experience at the Ridley, which is attached to the hotel. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, and the location is within walking distance of UVA.

Price I paid for our room was steep I thought. Also, I booked a month or so in advance and when I looked at rooms available closer to the check in date the prices were much lower. So I felt a bit ripped off. Carpet was a little stained. Sink did not drain properly. Staff were great. We had a room on a high floor. But with all the new and ugly construction nearby that doesn’t make a difference in the view or anything.

The hotel was clean and very modern. The bed was very comfortable, but the room was small and the "city view" was of the parking lot across the street.

All was good but dinner at the hotel restaurant did not sit well with us. Too much garlic or something…

This hotel is immaculate and located in a very convenient spot beside UVA Medical Center. Staff were friendly and accommodations were great. My only complaint was the price. It seems very overpriced for not having an included breakfast or pool.
