This would have been a nearly perfect stay except that there was a hidden fee - $5 to park in the lot, which was half empty the whole time we were there. It’s not much to pay to park, but it shouldn’t have happened because the hotel fees should all be visible in the price. Having to pay a parking fee was an unpleasant welcome when we got there.

There were cleanliness issues in the room and breakfast ended 30 minutes before the time relayed at check-in by the front desk. I have not had similar issues at this chain before. Otherwise the hotel is new and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly.

I am not sure if they have a new administration or what but I been staying in this hotel for the last 4 years because my doctor is in that area and I live 3 hours away. And now the hotel was dirty, food in the floor around the 4 floor, elevators the sameam and I do not event want to say how was the breakfast (used to be so clean) . Room with air-conditioned control broken I have to go to front desk just to be sure they do not charge me because of that. Now they charge you for parking too. Is sad that this hotel change I think this was my last time there time for find a new hotel in the area.

I always have great experiences at Holiday *nn Express. Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was super nice and accommodating. They got us a portable crib for my 3 month old which was really awesome. Break was great. No smoking allowed on the property. I will only stay at Holiday inn Express from now on.

The hotel had a great luggage cabinet to lay out our luggage, there were plenty of plugs and usb ports. The coffee machine afforded hot drinks all hours and the fitness center had a great assortment of equipment.

I asked for a quiet room for my son for a UVA visit. We were right next to the elevator. It was loud all night.

One lamp did not work at all. Same thing with two USB ports. Very little soundproofing, when led to quite a noisy stay. My messages were not replied to. Rather disappointing, particularly for what I paid.

The air conditioning didn't work. When we notified staff, they said they would fix it, but didn't. It was an uncomfortable night's stay.

Asked 2x for housekeeping. They only took trash and 2 more towels on 3rd day. I like staying g st hotels for a nice clean room when out all day exploring. I guess I can just do Vrbo instead. Cheaper

Our grandchildren especially enjoyed the indoor pool.The location was excellent for visiting Monticello, the Rotunda at UVa, and Montpelier on our way home.The price was reasonable, with no surprises. There were no problems. We were there for two nights, but we were out all day sightseeing around Charlottesville.

We just stayed in the Holiday Inn & Suites at White Marsh in MD and it was fantastic, so we decided to try this one. Complete opposite experience here, other than the staff this place was unacceptable. Roughly 50% of the light fixtures didn't work, there was a weird black sticky residue on most of the floors, the bisuits and/or eggs for breakfast had a weird fishy taste, and while we were checking out we found partially eaten crackers on the floor... we didn’t pack or buy any crackers. They gave us a free night stay on an account they set up for us, but all in all it was a bad experience.

Rooms and property were very clean. Location was convenient to access almost any area you may want to go. Breakfast was decent. Pool was typical indoor pool in that it was noisy but this one also smelled musty. Workout room was fair. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall if you are looking for a clean, safe and comfortable place to stay and don't care about the pool this is a winner

Thisbwas the nicest Holiday Inn ive ever seen. As all the other reviews mention, the breakfast was amazing, the oroperty was really nice, beds were comfy.

The room was extremely clean but the location on the ground floor was not great. People would back their vehicles into the parking spaces directly in front of the units doors in-wall air conditioners and leave them running which allowed exhaust to be sucked directly into the rooms. Smokers would also stand outside the air conditioning intake and allow smoke to be sucked in. Both of these problems could be improved by making a covered outdoor smoking area away from the rooms and not allowing rear in parking along the area in front of the rooms. The breakfast was fantastic and 24 hour coffee was great. Air conditioners were noisy at night and our airconditioner was not working properly but staff tried to be very helpful and were 24 hours available.

Hotel was clean and very nice. Staff were hard to find, slow, and not very helpful. Called the front desk twice and hung up after 20 rings. Went down and waited at least five minutes for someone to wonder out to the front desk.

Room was clean and met my expectations. Hotel pool was a big hit with my kids. Hot tub was a bonus amenity. Breakfast offerings and dining area were excellent.

The TV didn't work in our first room. The front desk changed our room and all was good. Very clean and enjoyable stay.

This is one of the nicer hotels in this price range. It is not a 5 star - our rating is based on comparable properties. We want to thank Latrice for her kindness and service as she went above and beyond to help us out.

The beds were comfortable. We didn't seem to have control of our room temperature, so not sure whether our thermostat was broken or whether there were building-wide set points.

Breakfast was fine although ran out of coffee cups one morning and it took until I was finished to replace them. Parking was adequate and seemed safe. But I was disappointed in the cleanliness of my room. I don’t ask for much but I expect when paying $150 each night that someone will wipe down my bathroom and replace the towels. No one did. The staff person said I needed to ask for that service….so I did. It still did not happen. Everyone was friendly but they did not do their job. I stayed at this hotel last year and the service was different and better. It is in a convenient location but may think again next year. At check out no one asked if I was satisfied.

The location was convenient Our room was pretty dated - loose wallpaper in bathroom. There were also a couple of hairs in the shower and a very large stink bug on the nightstand.

This hotel was very nice and the breakfast was big and delicious! The only problem we had was with the AC unit - but then the staff moved us to a different room that was great. We would definitely come back!

Always fresh coffee in the lobby. Rooms are spacious; they have a variety of bed pillows to suit your sleeping preference. AC kept the rooms nice and cool at night.

The hotel is clean and spacious with an excellent fitness facility. There is water and coffee available in the lobby. The stairwells are well lit. There were plenty of towels and the rooms are a nice size. The beds were incredibly comfortable. There was a strange electrical chirping noise coming from the nightstand in between our beds. When I attempted to call the front desk the phone didn't work. I walked down and the exceptionally helpful front desk clerk came up to investigate. He ended up disconnecting the outlet under the nightstand which curred the chirping but left us without a convenient way to plug in our phones. In a similar vein several of the lamps in the room did not work regardless of unplugging and plugging them back in. While these little issues were annoying, overall it is a very nice property and the staff was extremely kind and friendly.

Mountain View was very pretty to see. A/C could have been a bit colder but overall room temperature was very comfortable. Room was very clean including the bathroom. Love the shower head. Room was nice. Breakfast was great nice selections of iteams. Ice machine not on 1st floor. Clients parking in between other cars in the handicap parking space in t he striped area.

We found out when we were checking out that there’s a discount if you are staying for medical purposes, which is why we book hotels in Cville most of the time. The front desk staff is top notch as always, especially my girl Mary. Mary looks out for my Mom every time we stay here and that’s a huge plus. The iron. It leaked water all over my pants and it took a lot longer to get them to be presentable as a result.

The rooms, hallways, elevators, and breakfast area were all looking brand new. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We did not use the continental breakfast or the little pantry with drinks and ice cream and candy but it looked very nice choices.

The women who checked us in was so friendly, she should get a bonus. Breakfast was good, big variety. The cinnamon rolls were my favorite. The hotel is a bit hard to find, it isn't in either of our GPS's.

We reserved a suite for 5 people. When we got here they put us in a room with just / queen beds. They had given our room away. I had to demand a second adjacent room to accommodate us. I was not happy. They gad to make several calls to be able to give a second room even though it was their error.

I give 5 start because i stay in this hotel every 3 months and always have a good experience but i have to say the one from yesterday was bad, room dirt towels, a lot of stuff broken like the air/heater, connector to charge phone or connect blower mot working even the tub was broken but i believed is because was 1 floor maybe older or used more. I always stay in 3 floor and they are super clean everything is clean and nice. It was like to be in 2 different place. But i will comeback just be sure they do not put me in that floor again.

But the mattress was too soft and mushy

Hotel had been updated a few years ago and was very clean. Staff was helpful snd friendly. Was nice and quiet but beware you are charged $8 per week for parking in their lot no matter how many nights you are there. Breakfast was good and lady in charge of it very helpful and personable. Was fairly close to Monticello, which we visited. Had to ask for clean towel at the desk for second morning but I received them right away. We would stay there again.

Interesting that you can receive a breakfast, or coffee, but ask for a bottle of water, one half the size of a complementary bottle from Hilton or Marriott, and be told “No, those are for other guests.” Want to use the laundry facilities? You’ll be directed to Wawa to get change for the machines. It’s not every team member. Some are genuinely stellar but there are a couple that do not represent the property well.

Room 336 had a terrible mildew smell. We were tired so just kept it but it left us congested w headache the next day. Everything else was great and clean. I think it might just be an issue with this room

The front desk staff was alright, but the woman up there this morning was wonderful! She was upbeat and polite. The room was clean. I did have to ask and go downstairs for more towels because there were only 2, which I thought was a tad odd for a double bed room. However, the room was warm. The lowest the thermostat went to was 68, but I don't think it ever reached that low. Parking lot was nice and the rear lot, even better .

This particular location was outstanding. The cleanest most unkept and modern hotel in the chain. The breakfast was undoubtedly the best and plentiful of any Holiday Inn we’ve ever stayed at. And the staff the most courteous and friendly. Should be a mentor location for all your other locations. We will be back and highly recommended it to our friends and family.

I have not stayed at this hotel before. The staff was friendly and hotel was updated. No one told me they don’t provide daily housekeeping so I learned I needed to ask for a fresh towel which they happily provided. My trash full by the third day so I asked if I could get housekeeping which they said yes to but never provided. That was my only disappointment with the hotel.

Wawa right outside the hotel within walking distance, room was immaculate and smelled lovely. Bathroom was very modern and well lit. Room had ironing board, microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. Staff was fantastic. Water was available in the lobby and they served breakfast and had coffee in the morning. Will be returning.

This is our second time staying at this location. We always enjoy the complimentary lemon water and the hot breakfast. The only compliant I have is the comforter was not as clean as it should have been.

Clean spacious rooms. FANTASTIC water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was more than a usual continental. The lady at the front desk when we checked in was super nice.

Great place, well maintained and convenient to anything. The staff was hard working and very helpful. There’s even a Wawa gas station 300’ from the front door. Everything was great except the tv. 3 people (staff) tried to get it working, but to no avail. The first night was booked solid, so we couldn’t move to another room. They offered us another room on the second night but we had a dinner reservation and other plans. It was more trouble than it was worth to move as we were leaving the next morning. The did credit us points for our membership account worth a free nights stay. That was great on their part, and appeased us. The TV in exercise room would not respond for remote. Yes in review slight issues but as I have stayed here yearly for several years it is a decline. All issues that could easily be addressed through review of facilities as a guest rather then an employee’s.

Nicely located, clean, friendly staff.

Checked in on 8/8 with toddlers and requested two cribs. The front desk agent Hamid claimed none were available, forcing us to spend the evening buying and assembling travel pack-and-plays before stores closed. Later that night, another staff member Khaleesha confirmed the hotel did have cribs. This false information caused needless stress, expense, and ruined our evening. Completely unacceptable conduct.

Really easy check in and fast to get to room. Parking was a little tight but there was plenty of parking in the "back" of the building. Room was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The nearby convenience store was just steps away but the hotel store was also well-stocked.

I was pleasantly surprised by the attractiveness and cleanliness of the room. The bed was comfy and the bathroom looked brand new. We loved the view of the nearby mountains. Unfortunately, the free breakfast featured powdered eggs and the orange juice tasted funky. On the other hand, the sausage links and biscuits were good.

Easy to access off Interstate 64. Breakfast was delicious, lots of options. The room was nice.

Very nice hotel. Staff members were helpful but not overly friendly. Breakfast buffet was good with a lot of choices. Stayed two nights and room was not cleaned overnight after the first day. Key cards did not work and had to have reprogrammed. I accepted that the room was not cleaned, but had to go back to desk and get fresh linen. Staff member not to apologetic about condition of room. Hopefully this was a little glitch and not normal operating procedures.

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. My husband left something and they found it and set it aside for us to pick up at our convenience.

The hotel pool, whirlpool and fitness room were very nice. The breakfast was good.

For a one night stay due to having to travel to UVA three hours from home it was good, however the rooms don’t have any sound proofing to the point you can hear others urinating in their bathrooms from your bed. Staff was very friendly. Hotel and rooms very clean.

It's a very nice and friendly site! But if you don't have a car it's a bit inconvenient to get to the restaurants around due to limited crosswalks and rather active traffic. It's not very safe to cross the street.

Stayed 2 nights. Room had 2 queens. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent. Sitting area ouside and in lobby were bright and pleasant. Lots of ice cold lemon water available.

We visited Charlottesville for my surgery and spent one night at this hotel. It was extremely clean, and comfortable. Thanks to management and staff.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and well kept. Solid breakfast buffet, and not far from many of the Charlottesville attractions.

Is showing signs of wear. Bathroom door was warped and didn’t close, no hair dryer, pancake maker at breakfast broken. If they make some much needed repairs it will be decent.

The handicap accessible rooms are not handicap accessible. Just doorbells and strobes. Everything else is standard and not accessible. Bathrooms ARE NOT handicap accessible as pictured online. It’s a shame, being that the hotel is relatively new. Showers have a few inch height from floor, and there are no grab handles or seating. There was urine from past guests on the floor around the toilet, making the floor sticky.

Very comfortable stay-a little hard to find as the entrance comes up quickly and is not marked from the highway. Once you know where you are going it's easy in and easy out.
