SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charlotte Univ. Research Park

I got there super early and was tired and didn’t feel well. They let me check in early with no problems. The hotel was clean. The staff was nice. My room was clean. I had not a single issue from the time I checked in until the time I checked out. I will def stay again when I return!!

Location Ceiling Fan and they need sheets that fit the bed.. Had to get up 3 times to put the sheet back on so I was not laying on the mattress

I booked 3 rooms, first room covers had stains all over it and a roach in the bathroom. Second room had hair all over one of the beds, carpet wasn’t vacuumed and toilet became stopped up for no apparent reason. Will never stay again.

Breakfast Terrible experience and customer service. Started with rude employee at check in and ended with rude employee at check out. And in between broken tv, someone else’s stuff left in our room, room change, wake up at 7:30 am to questions because of their miscommunication, dirty and old towels, children running around upstairs all night and asked employee to handle and obviously didn’t….

The only draw back for the entire stay is that you advertise that the beds are queen sized beds and that is a lie. The beds size is a full. So for that the value was not worth it . There was also a pet or something else previously in our room bc everyone who had allergies immediately started to sneeze and cough as soon as we entered the room. The bed size. If you’re advertising and charging for a queen size bed, that’s what should be in the rooms

The refrigerator was not cleaned before my stay, as food from the previous guest was still inside. This was the biggest issue for me and impacted my first impression of the room. I was also not a fan of having a connecting room due to privacy concerns. Additionally, the room was a hearing-accessible room for people with disabilities, which was not my preference, though I understand this may have been the only option available given my early check-in request.

The location was safe with plentiful parking. Staff were friendly and continental breakfast was okay, all of your usual options were avaliable, nothing super fancy. Overall the hotel was clean and comfortably for our one night stay.

The room was a great size. We weren’t all on top of each other. Breakfast was good and the staff was excellent! We had a two queen room but the beds were not queens they were definitely fulls or doubles and the bed I shared with my husband had a super saggy mattress. I didn’t wake up in pain but we did roll to the middle when we were in the bed together.

I tried to explain this to the front desk during checkout, but I was dismissed with well we clean our AC unit every six months. The staff member wouldn’t make eye contact and didn’t take the situation seriously, even though it was affecting our health and could possibility affect future guests health as well. Especially those who have major allergies and respiratory issues.

The room was smaller than I expected, but it was still nice. The grounds were well maintained. Would definitely stay there again. The bed and pillows were too soft for my husband and me.

The room was very clean, the breakfast was good. They even had gluten free muffins and as someone who has celiac and rarely gets a GF baked good as part of a breakfast buffet, I was happy to see that. The room was in need of some repairs, which we did bring to the attention of the staff upon arrival. And unfortunately, their pillows are very flat and we had to set up the sofa bed for our son but they did not provide additional pillows because the property had a shortage of pillows. I’ve never encountered a lack of pillows at any hotels I’ve ever stayed at. So bring your pillow. But the mattress was very comfortable. Overall, I would stay here again. Location was also good, close enough to downtown and a few minutes away from IKEA.

Breakfast and breakfast attendant were wonderful. Front desk at check in(late evening) wasn't super friendly but the morning gentleman was very pleasant. Room was much smaller than usual two queen suites we usually get but overall good. Greta location, clean and breakfast was very clean and delicious with friendly staff

Not what I expected for heart of Charlotte NC area by colleges. This is a much older SpringHill Suites. The building and area shows that. You walk in to the Lobby and immediately greeted with cigarette smoke smells. The reviews for this hotel were pretty good & that’s why I booked a stay. Those reviews were misleading. My personal opinion of a great stay I guess isn’t the same as others. Hotel needs renovations. Very outdated. Carpets in hall & rooms very outdated as well as furniture and appliances. My family has stayed at a few different Springhill Suites & all pleasant. This one is not even close to the others. I also bring cleaning supplies and had to clean the toilet as housekeeping did NOT do a good job 😥. I reported it to the front desk and all I got was I am sorry I will report it to the manager and no contact from anyone! It is only 4 floors in this building and cleaning shouldn’t be an issue. Several guests car windows were broken out the night before my stay. Another guest informed me as I was checking in. Breakfast is average, no pool and no good amenities. Not worth the money. Due to my room was already paid for and it was 1 night, I made it work. King size room spacious, but not as much as updated & newer Springhill Suires. I will not stay at this particular Springhill suites again and I don’t recommend staying at this particular Springhill suites.

Not much to like The room had the view of trees and a highway. Road noise all night. The place had a smell of someone smoking pot. We have stayed here before and It was great last time. We won't be staying here again. The staff behind the counter never spoke to us.

Tv remote wasn't working, lamp stop working and they charged 50/night for incident without telling me. AC was loud and room is poorly setup. Breakfast and customer service was good. Will not stay again.

This is a fantastic hotel. The front desk was friendly and the hotel was clean. We enjoyed the breakfast and convenience as we were traveling to Florida.

Traveling for work, 6 night stay. King bed suite with a walk in shower, separate TV/sitting area, full size desk w/office chair, and mini fridge & microwave. Crisp clean linens and towels. Great location. Safe and well lit parking lot. Loads of restaurants within 1-2 miles, although none really in walking distance. Property is in the University area with easy access to the freeway and main north/south streets Tryon and W.T. Harris. I make it to my office in uptown Charlotte in 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Hot breakfast with real eggs, bacon, & juice plus all the usual grab-and-go items you get at lesser chain hotels. My favorite place to stay in Charlotte unless I need to be right downtown.

My stay was from Sun-Sun. I really enjoyed the layout of the room. It was perfect for my stay. I had a lot to focus on during my stay and the room, staff and convenience of door dash was perfect for what I needed for the week. I was able to accomplish everything I need to get done during my stay. I will definitely stay here again.

Website said remodeled in 2023 but there were issues with room. Mold could be seen that was chalked over, stains on floor, and around the shower, rust on ceiling in shower, the shower floor was dirty/stained and shower shoes needed. Molding pulling away from wall. Ceiling over sink had a small hole and stained. No door to separate room from sink and light which was very bright, loud and not private for those sleeping. Manager offered another room which was only slightly improved but no other rooms available the same size due to being at capacity. He did give 5000 Marriott points as compensation but since room was booked thru Expedia, could not adjust my bill and I contacted Expedia to get an adjustment on the room but they just said they would reach out to the hotel. Room was definitely not worth $378.00. Hotel also added a $20.00 per day incidental charge that Expedia failed to disclose. They did remove these charges at discharge.

While standing in line waiting to be checked in, I overheard some information relayed to the guest in front of me that was not relayed to me when I checked in. Such as the time for breakfast, details about Wifi and so on. On my first visit, there was no one covering the front desk, there was a guy in the back on a computer, but I waited for about 10 minutes before I was acknowledged. On my second visit, I it seemed that one of the team members had a visitor that was hanging around the check-in desk. Though my stay was pleasant and I will stay again, I really feel that the first impressions at the front desk should be worked on a little bit. Stayed for the world of outlaws world finals. Only 10 min away from the track. Quiet. Clean.

Breakfast was good. Room was nice

Comfortable bed, lots of room, breakfast included and close to UNC Charlotte.

Some of the frint desk staff was very great! Sierra was execptinally good. Great customer service. Housekeeping lead was very attentive. Breakfast options was just okay, but something for everyone.

Building looked very new. Loved the sleeper sofa with trundle. Bathroom was clean and beds were comfortable. The staff was polite and helpful, and the breakfast excellent.

Everything was very nice. Clean and well cared for. The only problem was what they charged for water and mouthwash. I thought it would be more than a convenient store but was taken back when I got the bill. Dont get anything from the shop at the desk.

Great spot for an overnight stay!

Ice Machine was not working on our floor and we called the front desk to ask for some ice and the lady that answered was very rude and said this is not a full service hotel. You would expect that for $200 a night you can get some ice.

We stayed here for three nights due to the cleanliness, location, and friendly staff. We will return here again while visiting family in the future.

Very clean, quiet hotel with very friendly hotel staff. The breakfast was tasty and better than your average hotel breakfast.

They have on website and show pics of pool. That's the only reason i booked here was to use pool with my family before our concert in Charlotte and in morning before check out. They have no pool i paid full price no discount and was told i can cancel and go some where else that has a pool. WOW. do better and take the pool off your website so other customers do not run into same issue.

The property was clean and well taken care of. The only couple down side for me was the pool was closed for renovations and we were really looking forward to that. And the hotel was a little hard to find.

It was clean, quiet, and not far from everything we were doing in Charlotte.

Nice rooms, clean and friendly staff (most of the time!)

The hotel staff were very friendly, and nice. The lobby, outside, and room is extremely clean. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I would definitely be booking another trip and stay longer.

Nice quiet location with easy access to the interstate. Lots of food options around which is great for picky eaters.

The staff was nice. The breakfast was great. Had one issue with the bathroom toilet having rust underneath the seat. They offered to clean the room or change to another room.

Nice clean place everything was excellent

Very clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. I will definitely stay again. The room was spacious. My only complaint was the bathroom. There was only one lighy switch to an huge extra bright light...blinding to say the least. There was a exhaust fan but it wasn't working.

I needed to find an affordable and comfortable place to stay after taking my daughter away from the collegiate apartment issues (around safety) which she was facing. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and clean! When I walked into the room, it smelled as if someone just cleaned it but it was 1130 pm before I was able to get checked in. The vaulted ceilings were a bonus touch along with the mini kitchen. Breakfast was great and I will be back when visiting Charlotte and hopefully it will be for a day of relaxation.
