    I got stuck in Charlotte when my flight was canceled and needed a nearby hotel to get some sleep and a shower. I chose an airport hotel with airport shuttle service so that I could quickly get to the hotel (it was already pretty late at night) and then back to the airport first thing in the morning. I called for the shuttle when I arrived at the shuttle station and was told it would be 10-15 minutes. After 20 minutes I called and was told that they did not know where the driver was. She was not answering their calls. I waited 10 more minutes and finally grabbed a taxi. Once at the hotel, I was told that the morning shuttles were only 1 per hour starting at 7am. That was not early enough for my mornming flight (considering the long lines and waits that are typical in airports these days) and so I had to take an uber at 6:30 in the morning, Total loss on the so-called shuttle service. Also, they did not have a hair dryer to offer me so I had to go to bed with wet hair. The AC was very loud. Arrived home sick and exhausted.

    Don't stay here. The airport shuttle was unavailable. This was not communicated in advance to the customer. The internet barely worked. There was a domestic violence dispute on the property. Staff seem like they don't know whats going on and keep referring me to the manager who would be at the property at an unknown time. The pictures are all lies. Unknown stains on the chairs/mini sofa.

    This hotel is unsanitary and unsafe. This a long term solution for families that are very poor and cannot afford other options. After ignoring several red flags because I was tired, I walked into the room and found a horribly stained chair next to the bed. I immediately turned around and walked out. Be safe and stay away from this motel. I'm surprised that Expedia would have this as an option.

    I love the convenience to work and location..the price is okay considering today's economy Ac / heat doesn't wasn't working ...informed Them and asked to change room as soon as I got there but wanted to fix it before changing the room..well it went out again and the next day after 5 receptionist decides that now she will change the room but wasn't mindful after telling her that I had to leave for work at 5:30.my children was left there with no heat ik 41 degree weather. When I got off work the hot water wasn't working so I couldn't take a shower and tried to warm me up some food to eat and the microwave started smoking and did not warm my food up so I was hungry cold and dirty ...paid money to live like I was on the street..very disappointed in this hotel this stay around

    Avoid this place. Lots of long stay residents acting as if they are in a private home. Screaming, banging, lots and lots of dogs barking all night long. Room was run down and poorly maintained, the property was old and not cared for at all. In a bad neighborhood as well. I got very little sleep because of all the dogs barking and people yelling and banging doors. Stay somewhere else.

    I was here because I had to wait 12 hours for my next flight. For what you pay is what you get oké. I just needed a bed to sleep and I slept. The hotel has a service to pick you up or bring you to the airport.

    Grounds were a mess No amenities I was aware of Staff at check in was indifferent Staff following morning was rude, unhelpful and indignant No hairdryer in room as told they were mounted to the wall No cheap back up hair dryer at office to accommodate guests needs as they I’m sure were aware that they do not have them in all or possibly any of their rooms I will never be back and will spread the word far and wide

    I love the location not far from the airport and other fast food restaurants and shops Staff refused to issue me a business invoice and this is not good for my accounting.they said it is booking.com that has to issue me invoice something I have never seen as guests from other hotels around the world. moreover the neighbours had dogs that barked and disturbed me from having proper sleep.

    Room did well for its purpose. It’s close to the airport and they had a room available for use when I had a last month trip to town.The woman from the front desk was so rude nasty and dismissive. She sent me to the furthest possible room available all the way in the back and the door was locked and room key didnt work when I called she was aware the keys for my door wouldn’t work because the battery needed to be charged from what she explained to me. I had to walk all the way back through the courtyard with all my luggage. For her to then assign me to a room them at as literally three doors down and was available. The air conditioning was working properly.

    Place was not for females traveling alone. Felt very unsafe, men standing around all night. Asked for room on bottom floor and was told only room they had was on second floor. Room was not the best, heating unit was broken. Sheets were stained and had hair and particles on it. Floors were dirty. People hanging outside my door talking non stop at night. Did not feel safe at all.

    Heater was great and so was the front desk woman. In the snow storm we were grateful to be warm, but the bed was fair and the room a bit worn. Bare minimum provided and front staff super nice considering the snow conditions which resulted in loss of shuttle from airport and for return ti airport the next morning. Providing a shuttle should not be a fair weather only offering as the point is we need it even more during bad weather.

So the clerk let us in with master key but told us that one of us would have to stay in the room at all times because he wouldn’t be coming back out to unlock it again. Then, no heat in the room. We literally used the hair dryer under the sheets to stay warm. This was during a snowstorm and it was 18 degrees outside. Then no hot water. Then the worst part. I had to leave the next morning to get a rental car. My wife checked out at 11 but was told to wait outside til I returned. They would not let her wait in the lobby. It was well below freezing outside. If I could I would give this place a negative 1000. They should be shut down and this hotel be condemned. Not even sure at this point if it’s an actual hotel or a front for something else. I will definitely be reporting this to local and state officials

    There were holes in the wall, it smelt like ciggarettes the whole time, the towels and linen were stained. The floors were covered in dirt. I was desperate so it had to do but that was the most disgusting hotel I had ever been in. For what I pad, nearly $300, I was very, very unhappy with my stay

    Beware staying here. Our flight was cancelled so we needed some where to sleep for a few hours until the next mornings flight. This is an extremely dangerous place to stay at. From what I could tell, there are many permanent residents making it more like an inner city low income apartment complex. There was prostitution and people obviously walking around intoxicated at 11pm on a Monday when we checked in. Next door to our room we heard violent domestic altercations all through the night. There were toddlers running around outside at 12am. Our room was pretty clean but really smelled of stale cigarettes smoke. In the parking lot were many broke down and damaged cars. One was even on Jack stands with an engine missing.

Dirty, smelly, sketchy people all over the place, smoking and whispering to each other. Makes me wonder if they charge by the hour?     Hotel clerk lied and said he didn't have my credit card information.And I would have to ask expedia, not to charge me because we did not want to stay there due to the conditions of the property. We left at ten o'clock at night.Never even checked in and found a safer location. The next day I was charged. I spoke with expedia, they advised me.The front desk clerk claimed I was a no show. I described the property, the front desk, all the security cameras.The tile, the disgusting conditions of the bathroom in the so called lobby, etc... The front desk clerk refused a refund, still claiming no show.     Hotel clerk lied and said he didn't have my credit card information.And I would have to ask expedia, not to charge me because we did not want to stay there due to the conditions of the property. We left at ten o'clock at night.Never even checked in and found a safer location. The next day I was charged. I spoke with expedia, they advised me.The front desk clerk claimed I was a no show. I described the property, the front desk, all the security cameras.The tile, the disgusting conditions of the bathroom in the so called lobby, etc... The front desk clerk refused a refund, still claiming no show. Trash outside stacked next to the cans. Back parking lot is very sketchy. People doing weird stuff which I won’t go into details. Couldn’t sleep at all due to safety issues. Toilet didn’t flush properly. It was the worst Red Roof Inn I have stayed in. Will never stay here again.

    I paid for the stay and I ever made it past the lobby. The gentleman running the desk was very rude and unprofessional. Their credit card readers wouldn’t work, he accused me of using bad cards. I tried both my work credit card and my personal debit card and he told me I had to find another form of payment for the incidentals. I told him I had no other options.     We reserved 2 rooms and both rooms were consumed with roaches. They were all over the beds furniture and bathrooms. We immediately asked for a refund and left the premises. Both rooms also smelled of heavy smoke even though we had to pay a deposit for a smoke free room. This honestly was the worse experience I’ve ever had a a hotel. When I went to the front desk I found that multiple other people were in line complaining about the same issues. This hotel should not be in business

    I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. Nights 1 & 2 were a bit noisy, but okay. Night 3 was pretty crazy. At around 2:00am, a woman was screaming and crying for someone saying she was "sick" and needed to "get well". This was right next door to me. She screamed for at least 15 minutes. She was there to get drugs and she got them. Others came later. They stayed outside talking really loud until around 7:30am. They then went inside and were really loud until around 1:30pm. Either management doesn't know there is a drug dealer on the premises or they are turning a blind eye, but I don't see how they could miss it.

    Air conditioning was not working but at midnight, what can you do? Had to call hotel to get them to send the shuttle from the airport. Found out when I checked in that there was no shuttle service back to the airport (driver “sick”). Had to pay for a cab to get back to the airport. I had to initial a form saying I would not smoke in the room. When I went into my room it smelled like an ashtray. So much for non-smoking room. Would never stay in this motel again and don’t recommend it to anyone else.

    This hotel is beyond dated. It seems that it now functions as weekly rental. The door to room 114 was so bent and unaligned it could not be secured. The room I was moved to was only slightly better. Both rooms smelled like cigarettes. I am warning other travelers to avoid this hotel if at all possible.

I arrived at around 2200 and initially the reception door was locked, but fortunately the night receptionist was just doing a security walk so he was back within 10 minutes or so. There was an issue at check in, but the two staff in reception were quick to call head office to resolve it. One of them was very chatty to me and that made the whole situation better. The room did smell of smoke, and there were cigarette burns in the table, but the carpet looked clean, the shower looked clean, and the bed looked clean too. I couldn't figure out the heater though so it was a little cold when not in the sheets. I would stay here again, if needing a last minute room near CLT airport

    The gentlemen working the front desk was VERY friendly and helpful; however, the facility is in pretty bad shape. The first room I had smelled so bad of cigarette and pot smoke, so I asked for a different room. This second room, the key did not work on the door - the door seemed pretty banged up. The third room - AGAIN the key didn't work.

    The hotel is making good efforts on renovations and upkeep. However, my room's bathroom had obvious signs of ceiling rot and other parts of my floor or wall seemed unclean. The bedding was new and fresh. The TV worked well and I had no loud neighbors. Some people lurking around seemed a bit sketchy but overall, it was a good value for the price I paid. I would stay here again if I needed to budget.

    This place is not a safe area. Homeless people everywhere. They have spotlights for a reason. The property was filthy on the outside. The room itself was clean. It is very loud with the airplanes flying over you all night. If you are desperate and have no where else to stay it’s a cheap option for one night, but just be very careful. I bought a lady some food on my walk across the street to the food lion. She was digging in the clothing bin for some clothes. She said she had been staying at the red roof and she got knocked over the head and her purse was stolen. She even had a cut on her head and everything. If you are a female I definitely wouldn’t stay at this place. And if you decide to def bring your pepper spray and gun if you have one.

    1 night stay king room -Check- in 7:30 PM .The room main door latch was not closing . The bed side lamps were not working . There was a regular deafening machine noise . No chance of sleep. Checking out in early morning at 5:30 AM - Worst part the property management was aware of the condition when gave feedback yet assigned it to a guest with full payment .

    Toilet ran constantly, phone was not connected so couldn’t call front desk, bedside lights did not work- only one light in the room other than bathroom. No chair in the room, took one ourselves from outside in the hallway. Cockroach under the fridge. Sink was cracked. Woke to gunshots at 3am Sunday morning.

    This place is horrible. Stains of blood and dirt in the most noticeable places. Big gap under the door which lets bugs crawl in, not to mention a big spider crawled on the bed and is somewhere in the room. No kettle - in the office there is water labeled ‘hot’ but it’s literally room temperature.

    We booked a night at this Red Roof specifically so we could stay close to the airport for a connecting flight in the morning. It says explicitly in the Expedia description that they offer a free airport shuttle 24/7. We called upon arrival for a pick up and were told that the shuttle didn't run in the evenings, so we had to pay for an Uber. ($14) Once we got to the hotel, we requested the shuttle for 5:30 am for our 7am connecting flight. We were told the shuttle isn't available until 7am. We would have to pay for a second Uber. ($14) The hotel staff then informed us that our specific reserved room was not available. We had paid for the room in full, in advance and I had called the hotel earlier to say our flight was delayed, so we didn't understand how this was possible. The desk clerk tried to upsell us to a different room, which we firmly refused. The room was very worn, with damaged surfaces and a broken and leaking toilet, but we felt we had no better option at that hour. Very disappointing.

    It was decent; convenient location close to the airport. Property could use some better upkeep. I’d use caution with the shower; I slipped and fell but thankfully caught myself. If the property reads this, I recommend you swap out the showers with one that has a textured grip floor.

    Was in desperate need for a bed due to significant weather delays at CLT airport. Booked on-line at approx. 2am. Room advertised as available for immediate check-in for after midnight booking. Was told upon arriving that I had to be treated as a "Walk Up". Now I have 2 separate charges for a single night's stay for one of the worst travel experiences of my 30 years of business travel

    This property advertises 24 hour shuttle service but they actually only run the shuttle from 7am to 11pm. This may be a mix up on Expedia's end. My mother was flying thru Charlotte to come help my sister after she had hip surgery and was delayed in Charlotte. We found a hotel on Expedia for $89 that we thought had 24hr shuttle service (her flight canceled at 11pm) I had to back out of the reservation at one point and then the price jumped up to $125 for the room. We went ahead and booked it but my mother had to pay for a taxi to the hotel. So after a trying day of flight delays (weather related) and with a major surgery looming we had to pay an extra $50 for a one night stay. I'm very displeased with Expedia over this whole transaction. The same room the next day was only $74. I would like to be reimbursed the extra expense. I feel like Expedia was taking advantage of people in a predicament. Additionally there was a dead roach in the hotel room. My mother says other than that hotel was clean and staff nice. But I'm not happy with Expedia.

    When I arrived at the motel at 1 am due to a canceled flight, I was assigned to a room with no working air-conditioning. It was a hot summer night, and the room smelled bad and was stuffy. When I asked for another room, the hotel clerk assigned me to yet another room in the same condition. When I returned yet again asking why the rooms didn't have air-conditioning as advertised, he said that they were supposed to but that he wasn't a maintenance person, so he didn't know which rooms had working air-conditioning. He offered a refund, but I was exhausted and insisted on getting a room that was as advertised. The THIRD room did have working air-conditioning but smelled strange and had a toilet plunger left out by the toilet. Also note that the free shuttle to and from the airport runs only between 5 am to 11 pm, can take only 5 people, runs only ONCE an hour, and leaves 10 minutes before the hour. NONE of this is clearly communicated. At 5 am, the shuttle that I took did NOT have enough room for everyone. The driver didn't show up, so the hotel clerk shut down the office (with no note about leaving for guests) to take us 5 to the airport. Very, very disappointing place. Stay elsewhere!

    I did not have hot water in the morning when I took a shower. I arrived late to the hotel and they were not nice with me. It was not a friendly welcome and I think that this must be a priority. The shuttle is only every hour. That's an inconvenient because they should be more often. The only thing that I like is that the bed was comfortable and clean.

    Checked in a within a few minutes noticed the bathroom walls covered and I mean covered with black mold. Went to front desk to a get a different room and the attendant said they were sold out and didn’t have any more rooms. Complete lie. There were 7 total cars in the parking lot at 1am! Stay away!     Got up at 4am to check out and there was a pretty big cockroach on the wall. The desk clerk asked how everything was and I told him about the bug. He said it was probably due to the remodeling going on in the motel and they would probably need to spray. I would not stay there again .
