This was an awful experience. We arrived at 3:55 to a room that hadn’t been cleaned… it smelled, there was trash everywhere, bed was a mess, towels all over the bathroom floor. I called and was told the cleaners were running behind and it would be another 20-30 minutes. Wasn’t even offered an apology. When we retuned, the room had been slightly cleaned, but still wasn’t great. The floors were dirty, mildew in the bathroom, overall dirty. This was such a disappointing stay. I don’t think you should have this property on your site due to the lack of respect for the clientele.

The room was dirty and not big enough!

Great property- only thing that gave us problems was that we could not get the hot water to heat up

Parking is limited to a nearby parking deck, which costs $24 per night—not unreasonable for the area, but worth noting. The bathroom had visible signs of mold that appeared to be painted over, and the toilet’s flush mechanism was broken—we had to manually adjust it to make it work. The air conditioner rattled loudly throughout the night, which made sleeping difficult. For the price, it would have been nice to have a couple bottles of water provided. Also, finding the unit was confusing—while the notes mentioned “building 30,” the entrance was actually the unmarked door on the left. This place has potential, but some basic maintenance and added attention to guest comfort would go a long way.

Property listing is misleading in that it shows photos of a full kitchen but our room was only a bedroom and small bathroom at the top of several stairs. Listing mentions daily housekeeping service, but no one came at all during our stay to replenish towels or to empty out waste bins. Two adults shared a total of 3 bath towels, one hand towel and two washcloths for a 3-night stay. There is moldy grout in the shower. The AC unit is extremely noisy, but the room does maintain a good temp. When we arrived the code we were issued was not correct and we had to call to get a new one. They did at least answer the phone promptly and were polite. I will say, the room is in a great location within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. If you care mostly about location and are okay with a small space and limited staff to help freshen up, this would be a great spot.

The location was great, right downtown, but the noise from the AC compressor on the roof was unbearable.

Good location, able to walk to most locations.

It was a lovely room in a great location. Centrally located. One of only 3 rooms in the building. It was comfortable and spacious!! We received numerous emails with information and instructions, all easy to follow. The parking garage was around the corner and easily accessible. And, after leaving, I realized I left a few articles of clothing in the closet which they quickly mailed out to me. An overall great experience!!!

Had no water pressure for sink. No hand soap. Silverfish insects in room. Floor was wet. Total cost with fees was over priced for the area. Parking for one day was over priced.

This is not a boutique hotel as advertised. This is really more of an Airbnb. While I love staying in Airbnb spaces, for this trip we wanted the hotel. The Quarters on Vendue does not have a front desk, valet, housekeeping, fresh towels, water availability, concierge services, etc of a true boutique hotel. We had the room on the second floor with an assigned code to enter both the room and the building. The photos shown on the booking site do not reflect what we received. There is no seating area, kitchen area, etc in rental space assigned to us for our trip. We only had a bedroom and bathroom (mold in the shower, lights not working, and weird toilet seat) which did not include a table or place to put our luggage other than the floor. When we arrived after a long day of travel, our room had not been cleaned. The on duty person (reached via phone) offered to have someone come right away. The room was cleaned by 5p and the management offered a slight discount for the inconvenience. The location was great! Walkable to everything we wanted to see - the market, tons of restaurants and rooftop decks, the provost, the battery, rainbow row, the many churches, and waterfront park. In the end, we thought we were getting boutique hotel but ended up in an airbnb.

We had a little trouble getting in our first night but that was mostly miscommunication from booking via third party site. There’s no one on site for later check in, so just be sure to call ahead day-of to get your room info (before 7pm).

The shower had mold Only one set of towels No bottled water Cleaning and trash service only when inquired about it Only one bar of soap Lots of steps just to get to room. hard on my husbands shattered ankle. Exterior door would not lock

Quaint & comfortable room. Nicely decorated. Not handicapped accessible as bathroom was upstairs.

The space was great and very convenient to town. The biggest issue was the thermostat was stuck at 76 and would not cool down, so it was very hot. One of the showers was also clogged and didn't drain properly.

The room was pretty cool however if your looking for a quiet room, this is not the one for you. They are doing hotel construction directly across the street and it it starts at 5:45 AM every day, had I known this I would not have booked this room. I was disappointed at check in, our room was not ready until about 5:30, they hotel did offer a bit of a discount but I'm not exactly sure how we will receive this since it went thru Hotels.com. The Hotel It is centrally located to just about everything, parking is a bit tricky, do not park in the garage at Cumberland st., park in the garage 2 blocks East of Vendue St. (next to the Dungeon), it's 18.00 per day.

Quiet clean accommodations.

You have a private small apartment in the heart of Charleston. You have to negotiate 1 or 2 flights of stairs which is key for guests to know. Very clean modern bathrooms/kitchen, plentiful closets for clothing. The furniture/ window treatments/ rugs are a bit tired and the living areas need a good dusting, fabric cleaning. The remote check-in process is a bit odd, and the personnel are a mixed bag, some very helpful, others not. It's like staying in an apartment for rent that needs a little more TLC. Because of the super location and because the bathrooms, kitchen and bedroom linens were so clean, I'd stay there again.

This was just the type of accommodations we needed. We knew we would not be in our room very much so did not need all of the bells and whistles. The room was lovely, bed was extremely comfortable, everything was clean, and it had exactly what we needed. Excellent central location. Next time we would book the double room suite with the kitchen. if you book you need to know that there is no one on premises to assist you, it is completely self service. Parked parked in the parking garage around the corner. I would stay here again.

This place is SO charming and you can’t beat the location! It is in an original, older building so there’s a slight smell, but nothing offensive or overly off putting. It’s been COMPLETELY modernized and beautifully appointed. It’s within walking distance to SO much of what Charleston has to offer; great pubs, restaurants, Pineapple Fountain, The Market, Rainbow Row, all of it! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This was a beautiful room in a great location. I wish the outside door was fixed and more secure from passers by. Overall would stay there again.

The property was in great condition and a great price point for the area if you need two rooms as we did. The only issue I has was that I had not received the access codes & check in information prior to arrival. I had to place a phone call to have them email the info to me.

However, there is a notice posted inside the kitchen and living room area that advises guests not to set the a/c temperature below 72 degrees or there could be problems. We prefer it cooler than 72 at night during the sleeping hours so this was a bit uncomfortable. Wifi is included and worked well in the living room and first bedroom but did not work in the second bedroom. The hot water was great in the kitchen and first bathroom but there was no hot water in the second bathroom shower. I mentioned these issues when calling to checkout and in a follow up email sent a day ago. At this point there has been no response from their staff. Note that this room is up stairs and there are no windows in either bedroom. There is a window in the living room and in the hallway to the bedrooms. There was no ladder attached outside either window and with only one stairway to enter the suite, there may be a safety concern.
