Reviews
The Inn at Middleton Place is a beautiful and unique property, offering a peaceful and serene getaway. Guests frequently praise the stunning grounds, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms, but some express disappointment with the breakfast and certain amenities.
- Beautiful and unique property
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Breakfast does not meet expectations
- Some rooms and amenities are outdated or in need of repair

We enjoyed our visit and will be back again next year.

The views are breathtaking. It’s a perfect blend of history with beautiful gardens. The historians at Middleton did such a great job to honor and share past stories, making this vacation not only a relaxing one, but also interesting. We enjoyed the weather greatly, the nightly snacks and drinks were a great addition- what a way to share a sunset on our anniversary trip! We might not be back right away, but will tell others to visit- 100% recommend as a relaxing adult getaway.

Breakfast was good Overall a very nice stay
- 5/5
We love this place. Have been twice now. Not as clean as the first time I went but service and staff is still as great.
- 5/5
This is our second visit and it was more wonderful than the first. From the moment you enter your room, walk through the gardens or just sit and watch the wildlife over the Ashley River and marsh it’s captivating. Our meal at the restaurant was amazing and I would give the chef and staff a 5 star rating. Already planning a return in fall.
- 5/5
It being connected to the Middleton Place grounds was great. We walked the paths and saw so much wildlife. The hotel was also a treat as it has great views of the Ashley River and the marsh areas across the river. We will go back again.

Great Place to stay!!!!!!
- 5/5
What a beautiful stay we had at a peaceful, serene inn on the banks of the river next to Middleton House estate and gardens. Our room had everything we needed, bed was super comfy . Walking distant to Middleton house and restaurant with complimentary tickets to the gardens and tours.Breakfast buffet was excellent . Will stay here again in a heartbeat.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay.
- 5/5
This was a fantastic stay. Felt like a grownup summer camp in the best ways. Staff was helpful and cheerful, our room was clean and comfortable (and wow to the window wall!), the rain-shower was the best we've used, the views and amenities were wonderful. Great breakfast and happy hour, enjoyed beautiful Middleton Place and had a refreshing swim in the unheated pool. Already plotting our return. Truly fun, interesting and enjoyable.
- 5/5
The fact that you get free passes to the gardens is such a good deal (normally $35/person). We walked roughly 10 miles in 3 days seeing the gorgeous trees, happy animals, and getting delicious food at the restaurant in the gardens. We'll definitely be making this an annual trip for us!

Our time at Middleton Inn was wonderful. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff accommodated our every need. The grounds were pristine and a quiet haven for our vacation. We ate lunch at the Middleton Restaurant and even though it was a bit pricy and portions small our meal was delicious. Our time at Middleton Inn and gardens was very enjoyable and we highly recommend the Inn for your vacation.
- 5/5
It was so peaceful and beautiful there!
- 5/5
Amazing location in such a beautiful part of South Carolina. We could spend time at Middleton Place walking in the fabulous gardens and sitting by the river outside our accommodation. Nothing
- 5/5
Very rarely am I overwhelmed with how wonderful a place is. THIS WAS FABULOUS! Rustic, off-the-beaten-path place. If you want fancy, shiny, and new….this is not your jam. If you want true Lowcountry, understated elegance…BOOK NOW! I cannot believe I’ve waited so long to experience The Inn at Middleton Place. Hats off to whomever is running this fantastic property.
- 3/5
Beautiful property and gardens, rooms are a little run down and not as clean as I prefer. It’s definitely an antique vibe but it teeters on unkept.
- 5/5
Lodge-feel stay with amazing views! The staff was very accommodating and the surroundings were amazing. We enjoyed our four-day stay and were able to tour the plantation, use the pool and enjoy happy hour every evening. We loved the restaurant and breakfast at the Lakehouse was nice too.
- 5/5
Peaceful surroundings. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable bed and pillows.

Excellent breakfast - with a view! We loved our stay, felt like we were sleeping at something designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The river views were delightful, so was the Middleton plantation. And the staff was so attentive. We stayed three nights - wish it could have been more!
- 5/5
Beautiful natural environment, loved the grounds and history, and great pastries at breakfast!
- 5/5
Hammocks hanging in trees were inviting and helped us have the most relaxing retreat from the hectic pace life often demands. Every staff member was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Rooms were very clean. Hot breakfasts daily at the Lake House were delicious and the complimentary offerings at the Lodge for Happy Hour and the Nightcap every evening were unexpected surprises. We are booking another stay later this summer even though we just got home to Greenville 3 days ago. The only recommendation I have is to ask for a first floor room if walking up a long flight of cement steps would be a challenge.

Nope

10/10 The only bad thing about staying here was having to leave at the end of the trip.
- 5/5
It was quiet and beautiful and no one bothered you. Will recommend to friends and family

It was our anniversary, and we stayed here. We weren’t really greeted or congratulated, but that wasn’t a big issue. When we arrived, housekeeping seemed to still be working, and there were bags of trash along the road. In our room, the bathroom was very dirty. The toilet was extremely unclean, and there was even used toilet paper left from previous guests. There were no tissues or basic toiletries like shampoo or shower gel. After a long journey, we were too tired to deal with it and ended up cleaning it ourselves. Our first impression was disappointing. The territory itself is beautiful, but not well maintained.

The happy hour was great, and the breakfast was OK. We were hoping there were different options for breakfast each day.

Amazing property connected to nature. Loved the daily substantial breakfast. The place was remote enough to offer peace and quiet but close drive away from the historic city center. Easily walkable to the neighboring Middleton Place garden which was beautiful. Will definitely be back!

Very good
- 5/5
Lovely hotel in a nice quiet location. Very large room. Good choice at breakfast. Great to have Middleton Place on the doorstep, or a walk away. Some of Middleton Place was shut as changing an event.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed the room and the quiet and private location of the property. The grounds of the inn and of Middleton are gorgeous and relaxing, it's like a retreat. You could relax here for days, or you can easily hop over to Summerville or Charleston, we did both! We will be back.

This is a special place. Peaceful, serene setting. Large, bright, comfortable and clean rooms. Walk a beautiful nature path from the hotel right into Middleton Plantation. Very tasty and filling complimentary breakfast buffet.
- 5/5
We love this place
- 5/5
The Inn is quite lovely. The architecture and layout of the buildings is ideal for each room. Every room has a view. The room design and furniture are very pleasing. We enjoyed everything on the property including the restaurant and lodge. We plan to return next year when the camellias are in full bloom.
- 5/5
The rooms are very nice but a bit dated. The jewel is the ability to roam the gardens sunrise to sunset
- 5/5
Quiet, unique one of a kind experience
- 5/5
Nice peaceful in the Middleton plantation property

Superior breakfast and staff
- 4/5
We stayed two nights, breakfast and all the amenities were excellent. The staff was friendly and having access to Middleton Place Garden was a dream! My only qualm (at 7 months pregnant) was the bed and pillow comfortability, my husband agreed though so it wasnt just me! The other thing to consider is bringing your own vehicle if you are planning on doing any sight seeing or leaving the property. Downtown Charleston is about a 35 to 45 minute depending on the time of day.
- 3/5
The location is beautiful. The rooms are very old and need urgent renovation.

Beautiful property. Comfortable room. Great breakfast. The nightly reception snacks and night cap is an added touch
- 4/5
Excellent! This place is gorgeous, especially the views. But it was very rustic and the rooms were really basic. You also have access to the middeleton place grounds, which are absolutely stunning, and the restaurant was really good. This place is amazing, definitely recommend!
- 5/5
The room was clean and well furnished. I had very little interaction with staff but it was pleasant. The breakfast was not as good as I remembered. The sausage was very bad and the selection of pastries was limited. Very little fruit also.
- 5/5
What a wonderful stay! Very impressed with the delicious breakfast buffet and such a beautiful place!
- 5/5
It’s a breathtaking property in beautiful woods next to the marsh water. The walk to Middleton Place in full bloom is out of a storybook. The design, view of nature, furnishings, and firewood smell of the room is bliss. Decent breakfast to boot. Had to wait 45 minutes for the room to be ready after we arrived at the 4pm check in time.

We also enjoyed having a real wood-burning fireplace. Our favorite part was the walkway to the Middleton Plantation. The Azalea’s were stunning in late March. We had dinner at the restaurant at Middleton plantation. And then we walked the lighted path back to our room. Magical! We enjoyed the Inn’s wonderful complimentary breakfast bar the next morning as well!

had to leave

loved the older oak trees,it was a very relaxing place to stay had to leave

The room was immaculate with easy parking close to your room. The grounds were very nice with free admission to the beautiful Middleton Gardens

Room was clean and comfortable, good bedding, shower, vanity, lighting, AC, and great hot breakfast.
- 5/5
Such a gorgeous, peaceful, quiet property! The inn itself is unique. The equestrian center on site is a bonus attraction!
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
This place was amazing. I wish we would have researched it more. It was above & beyond. The wine, happy hour, the fireplace & quality of room. The breakfast was amazing. Full breakfast. The bartender at happy jour was great. Tiffany was above & beyond. She helped me out later.
- 4.5/5
A special spot. Loved the modern style blended into the woods in a very traditional region. Clean, modern aesthetic of the room. Peaceful. It was all excellent. The only exception was that breakfast was just pretty standard and “hot” items were not real hot.
- 5/5
Relaxing and peaceful. The rustic yet modern architecture, despite being nearly 40 years old, is timeless and well maintained. Room was clean and comfortable. Our stay was in late February and use of the wood burner fireplace is a unique offering. The own downside was that it did make the room smell of camp fire. We had to wash our clothes and duffle bags as soon as we got home to rid the smoke smell. We visited previously in the spring and don't remember the smell being so prominent, so perhaps this isn't an issue year round. The complimentary breakfast was incredibly good. The happy hour drinks and complimentary hors d'oeuvres were a special treat that felt very upscale and personal. The gardens are within an easy walking distance and are beautiful. This is a great place for a quite relaxing retreat.

Our visit was excellent staff was wonderful will be back soon

Great place in a peaceful setting. Rooms are nice and each/most have fireplaces. Staff is friendly and check-in is easy. Convenient walk/drive to Middleton Plantation which is amazing.

This is a wonderful, serene place to stay. The breakfast is great. we also like socializing at happy hour.
- 4/5
Restaurant was great. Breakfast was the best part of the stay with an organic eggs, local bacon etc. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. Worth visiting for them alone.
- 5/5
Beautiful, historic, and unique, 100% recommended
- 5/5
Lovely property, better signage is very much needed. Lucius was wonderful.
- 3/5
Room was fine and staff was great. Overpriced and not really special. TV was Roku and impossible to access
- 1/5
Electricity cut off and there was none for a night and all morning, no amenities. Outdated showers and basic rooms
- 5/5
The serene and peaceful environment, cordial professional staff, efficient customer service, and quality breakfast options. The only suggestion I would make is the need for grab bars in the shower for safety precautions. Overall, a wonderful experience and I look forward to booking another stay in the near future.
- 4/5
80s historical architecture hotel with nice amenities. The breakfast was a particular highlight, along with the happy hour and night cap offerings. The included admission to historic Middleton Place leaves plenty to explore in your free time. Quiet and relaxing stay.
- 4/5
Loved the setting. Beautifully situated on the river. The rooms were set within the wooded area with windows on three sides so that it felt like you were immersed in the area. The eating and lodge for activities were close by so had a pleasant walk for breakfast or to happy hour. Eco-friendly was undermined by too many individually packaged items like mini creamers, jams, butter instead of using butter plate, 1/2 & 1/2 pitcher and jars of jam. Would have preferred a normal bath as the size made it difficult to hold the heat in. Great hot water system though shower pressure left something to be desired.
- 5/5
Due to the dirt roads and walkways, the floors do feel a little dusty on bare feet.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean room. The breakfast was great. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays so we were unable to have dinner there as we initially planned
- 4/5
Beautiful property with excellent restaurant on site . Night caps with dessert wine and macaroons was an added bonus .
- 4/5
The Inn was great! The property is beautiful and well maintained. The Lodge was a great place to grab some drinks and snacks. I would've rated it better overall if we had actually received our breakfast that we ordered the night before. We ordered it for our room to be delivered at 9:30. By the time it had reached 10 we already needed to leave so we just went without.
- 5/5
Beautiful setting. We were the only ones we saw walking around the property in the early evenings. The Happy Hour self-serve charcuterie and cash bar on the property were very convenient and we enjoyed sitting along the river in the provided seating both njghts. We dined at the property restaurant last night and had a delicious meal. The Lake House breakfast was very substantial each morning, with lots of options. The rooms were quiet, clean, and had all of the amenities. We appreciated the availability of umbrellas and flashlights so we could walk the trails to our late dinner reservation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this place and hope to return for another visit. Unfortunately, we were unable to partake in any formal site tours because we had booked off-site Fossil digging excursions both days which kept us out past the last tour. We did enjoy doing self-guided tours of the beautiful grounds.
- 5/5
Quiet, de stressing, peaceful
- 5/5
This was a beautiful step back in time. If you are looking for perfection and pristine grounds, this isn’t for you. If you are looking for history, peace, and a quaint place to stay you’ve hit the jackpot.
- 5/5
Cant wait to book our next trip!!
- 5/5
Breathtaking! Nothing else to really say. We were pleasantly surprised and so lucky to have stayed here. Will absolutely be returning with my family.

It was nice and peaceful and just what I needed.
- 5/5
Quiet, secluded with good parking and friendly staff! Recommended
- 4/5
Very scenic inn
- 5/5
We have stayed here multiple times now and it is a such a beautiful and peaceful stay every time.
- 5/5
The property exceeded our expectation. The grounds were amazing, horse back riding was fun. The breakfast bar was excellent and we loved the happy hour and nightcap. We were disappointed that the pool was closed, but all in all our experience was marvelous!
- 5/5
The Middleton grounds are beautiful. The property blends beautifully with the land. Very peaceful. The inn gives guests two tickets to the plantation which is very interesting and informative.
- 5/5
Loved everything about our stay here! Great for young kids to run around too
- 5/5
This is the best place to stay in Charleston. We travel downtown but a lot of our time is spent on the property. It’s a serene spot on the Ashley that just gets better and better. I hope it never changes.
- 5/5
Breakfast was delicious and consistent, with a nice variety: eggs, bacon, grits, fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, and even gluten-free toast and English muffins for my celiac husband — a big plus! We also loved the happy hour cheese board and the nightcap at the lodge. The staff were fantastic — warm and attentive. The gardens were stunning, with lakes, sheep grazing freely, and even a few alligators. The Inn also thoughtfully honors its harsh history with slavery through stories, displays, and tours that promote reflection and remembrance. We highly recommend this place — peaceful, beautiful, and rich in history.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Fantastic inn with extremely nice staff, their beautiful garden is so massive I can’t wait to return and see what I missed. Pictures can’t do justice to the grounds!
- 5/5
Do not tell anyone about this hidden gem! The Inn at Middleton Place is an exceptional experience. This is more than a place to stay. Floor to ceiling windows looking out on Ashley River. Walk in shower with rain shower head. Large minimal decor room and a perfect bed. the grounds are lined with relaxing chairs and hammocks and just a short walk and Middleton Gardens delight. Admission is included.Happy hour at the Lodge and Breakfast at the Lake House were delicious. All the staff are kind and generous and seem to recognize the amazing gift of Middleton Place. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was good and a pleasant walk. Just please do not tell anyone else, it is that good that greediness is indicated.
- 5/5
Get place to stay
- 5/5
The property is set upon a plantation so you are able to take in the surroundings such as the gardens, various wildlife, and history of the plantation. The restaurant is great. We had some great meals there.
- 5/5
Beautiful gardens, landscape, informative tours and teachers. Fun equestrian ride, wonderful dinner. Only negative is the conflict of times on the tours(not set up well, considering that we would like to see them all) and no information on where they meet shown on the map, so difficult as a newbie, to know where to go. BUT excellent tours!!! Really fabulous and informative, sensitive, but real.
- 5/5
What a beautiful place!
- 5/5
So much history and time with nature! I feel like I learned so much while living comfortably
- 4/5
Peaceful stay. Not a lot of food choices.
- 5/5
Stayed 2 nights at the Inn, in the woods, with great breakfast service with enthusiastic morning staff who were very accommodating Toured the garden, House and went on 4 guided tours all very informative and on occasions very entertaining. Dined at the onsite restaurant in the evenings, wonderful food with excellent staff…..only complaints ….walking from the Inn to restaurant the first night and we turned out to be DINNER for the flies so second night drove the 1/2 mile to the restaurant….would definitely visit again.
- 5/5
Beautiful setting un the woods
- 4/5
We loved the property and the Swedish style of our suite.
- 5/5
One of the most beautiful hotel in the SC
- 5/5
Picturesque and hospitable
- 5/5
Beautiful and quiet area. Rooms were smaller but very unique. Bathroom was clean and decent sized.
- 5/5
I loved having access to the gardens. I was able to walk along the paths and sit in beautiful surroundings and felt rejuvinated.
- 5/5
The property and room were wonderful. We toured Middleton Place next door and experienced Charleston from a very convenient location.
- 5/5
Beautiful property with walking trails overlooking the Ashley River and Middleton Gardens. A lodge with full bar and charcuterie snacks plus an evening night cap. It's a secluded getaway tucked away from the world in a beautiful wooded setting. Highly recommend!

room was unique and spacious. needs a soap holder in shower
- 5/5
Very quiet and peaceful
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds. Love the fireplaces in the rooms and the views. Great for a couple escape
- 5/5
The Middletown Inn and the surrounding Gardens are a amazing oasis in the Charleston South Carolina area.
- 5/5
We love staying at Middleton. It is quiet and historical and beautiful.
- 5/5
Spacious, comfortable room with fireplace (fire wood provided) great hot breakfast meal. A little pricey though.
- 3/5
It’s very dark, no lights at entrance. Dead bugs in the room. The views were very beautiful and staff is Awesome. It’s just an old place that needs TLC
- 5/5
Liked that it was secluded and staff was friendly
- 5/5
We love going to Middleton Place. We like to stop go for lunch in Charleston on the way and time it to check in time. Once we are Middleton we hardly ever leave. We love walking around the property and walking to their fabulous restaurant. After hours you almost have the gardens to yourself (at least on week days). The breakfast is included and is hearty and delicious. We love having a real fire in the fireplace when it’s colder.
- 4/5
The room was comfortable but had to change rooms for steep steps to get to assigned rooms. Moved to main level. No hangers in room. Also quite dark outside at night to get to and from car. Definitely need better lighting in and around the parking lot to prevent accidents!
- 5/5
Service was good however our room service was ok. Our bed was not made but I’m not sure if it was supposed to be. Our towels and wash clothes were left folded in a trash bag on the ground. The room was nice. If I can simply suggest some art work on the wall in the room to make it more “homie” or more friendly. The bed was not very comfy and seemed like we were sliding down towards the foot of the bed. There were a few bugs in the bathroom throughout our stay as well.
- 5/5
A beautiful spot north of Charleston with scenic walks and guided tours of the historic Middleton Place property. Excellent breakfast buffet at the Inn.
- 5/5
Great place - as always!! Beautiful setting! We've stayed here numerous times!
- 5/5
Awesome stay
- 5/5
We loved our stay here!
- 5/5
My daughter and I had such an amazing stay. We will definitely be back! Our room was clean and peaceful. Parking was right near the door. And breakfast was amazing! Walking the plantations really was a wonderful experience.
- 5/5
We love this Inn and enjoy any opportunity to stay. The trip provided exactly what we needed.
- 5/5
Happy hour was very nice. Great drinks and the live music was wonderful. Charcuterie provided was simple but good. Try the pickled okra and pimento cheese! Breakfast was very good. Cheesy grits, real bacon and pure maple syrup jars were my highlights. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the grounds and felt the walk to the restaurant was not "long". I wouldn't wear heels on the walk but the inn specifically states this(as it seems others have had an issue). We stayed here for two nights to get away from the hustle and bustle. The semi-submergence in nature drew me in and was idyllic after an army graduation we attended prior. Only issue was it seemed someone tried to hack my phone while connected to Wi-fi. We were pretty much the only ones in the building when I got the alert someone logged into an account in SC. Possibly staff?

- 5/5
Great stay! Loved the grounds, restaurant and Inn! Thank you

I like this hotel a lot. The breakfast was very good and the hotel was clean and room was nice.

Absolutely beautiful gardens and landscaping!!!
- 5/5
Very relaxing away from crowds and traffic. Enjoyed walking the grounds and the pool.
- 5/5
Beautiful property. We were able to walk the plantation every night. So happy we chose to stay here. The staff is great. Beautiful views.
- 5/5
Absolutely in love with this place! Everything was perfect!
- 5/5
This was a perfect getaway for us. A lot of peace and tranquility and not overrun with people. The staff both at the inn and at the plantation and restaurant were very attentive and knowledgeable. Just sorry we haven’t done this before.
- 5/5
I absolutely loved my stay at the Middleton! It was definitely a different vibe than what I was used to and exceeded my expectations! The room was clean and up to par, fresh towels, friendly staff, and the breakfast was delicious! I would definitely give my stay a 10/10!
- 4/5
It’s really exciting place. I will recommend to everyone
- 5/5
The hotel overall was great. Perfect location to explore the plantation district. The inn also gives you private access to Middleton Place, which was nice to avoid the crowds. The rooms are on the rustic side, but maintained. Only complaints, we lost water pressure for several hours. Also, be aware that the rooms are in a very dusty/sandy area so that gets pulled into your room. The staff was nice and friendly. Happy hour snacks were a plus. Breakfast was typical fair; scrambled eggs/bacon/sausage/yogurt parfait and pastries. One thing to be aware of, the Inn is at least 30 minutes away from downtown Charleston as well as everything else. Dinner options outside of the plantation are none. That being said, we would definitely stay there again if in the area. So much history to explore. Also be aware that there are alligators in the pond areas, so watch your step (they warn you about them when you check in.).
- 5/5
Fantastic find just outside of Charleston. Whether you are going into the city each day or staying on the property and just enjoying the nature, this place is great for both. Great breakfast each morning, and happy hour at the bar to start the evening.
- 5/5
Helpful staff, beautiful property, and amazing hot breakfast!
- 5/5
Amazing place!! We’ve stayed multiple times at Middleton. Always an amazing place!
- 5/5
Very attractive accommodations and excellent breakfast.
- 5/5
This property was GORGEOUS! If you’re looking for a quiet, southern stay, this is the place. The rooms were clean and it felt like staying in a cabin. All staff on site are incredibly generous and helpful. The views are what make the stay though. And you also get free admission into the garden next door! So so beautiful, would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Amazingly beautiful property with friendly and very professional staff. I couldn’t get enough of the beautiful architecture. I loved the access to the plantation grounds. I can’t wait to return!
- 4/5
The grounds are beautiful with pretty views of the river.
- 5/5
The most beautiful place we ever stayed at. Everything was as perfect as could be. We were there in the beginning of the week so the restaurant was not open for dinner. Really enjoyed the guided tours at Middleton Place and exploring the grounds.
- 5/5
always amazing there calm relaxing and beautiful We visit my Dad who lives near Charleston We always stay at middleton when we do We love walking at middleton place at least a few times per day The great incluced breakfast and happy hour put it over the top also We do miss bike rentals and biking the other grounds of middleton but the walking is still great
- 5/5
Magical
- 5/5
Charming older property on an historic plantation with spectacular gardens. The view from our room was fabulous and the amenities were top notch. Will definitely be back.
- 5/5
So beautiful and peaceful
- 5/5
Such a beautiful property! Kind and thorough staff, even though we arrived past midnight. Beautiful room and comfy bed. Wonderful value with the Middleton Place tickets included! Breakfast was tasty and fresh as well.
- 5/5
This property is nicely located. Quiet and peaceful.
- 5/5
The property is stunning. The staff was very nice, helpful, and efficient. The room was airy with a lot of light, the bed was comfortable, and my bathroom had a massive rain shower that was a nice surprise! The breakfast was really, really good (real bacon!) The only drawback is the time it takes to get to anything nearby, because it is fairly secluded an a minimum of 20 minutes to get to any restaurants.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and very peaceful
- 5/5
I really enjoy Middleton Plantation and the Inn is a great place to stay. My only complaint would be the bed. The mattress was too soft and the bed was too low.

Perfect place to stay when visiting Middleton Place. Short walk and you're there, plus the environment for the walk was beautiful. Very quiet and liked the morning breakfast at the Boat Dock and the 5-7 Happy Hour at the Lodge.

The Inn at Middleton Place was absolutely beautiful! I will be recommending this place to everyone I know.

This was a fabulous place to stay. We wanted a nice get-away, and we found it. The staff was amazing!! The rooms were just right, and the fire was perfect in the room for a chilly night. The lodge was convenient to enjoy time together, and the setting was beautiful on the river. We recommend this for a wonderful, quiet, and beautiful time away.

We had planned to visit Middleton Place and are happy we chose to stay at the Inn. Our room was clean and cozy; we enjoyed the fireplace on a chilly December evening. The setting is beautiful and we would recommend tours at Middleton Place, as well.

Very complicated to get to the restaurant. Rainy days and parking was far away!

I genuinely loved the place and we can’t wait to go back.

The inn and grounds are lovely. Breakfast was a little bit surprising considering the location. We were expecting a bit more than frozen jimmy dean sandwiches heated up and grocery items. Less than some two star hotels offer. However, we enjoyed the stay.

I have been to the inn several times and for the first time, I was disappointed. Amenities had changed (no hot breakfast, no reusable water bottles) and no bottles of wine (promised by Expedia). I brought my mom for her 70th birthday for an experience that is no longer provided. The inn could have communicated the change when I called to make sure the rooms were together. Both of our rooms had palmetto bugs, which I’ve never seen there. Breakfast pastries were not fresh daily, and it’s awkward peeling hard boiled eggs at the table. I spoke to a gentleman at the desk after the first night (I wasn’t able to get into my room until after 4) and he expressed that he’d ask his manager if a cheese plate could be sent to our room, but that didn’t happen. I’m incredibly disappointed, and I won’t be back.

The continental breakfast did not meet expectations. Not enough food for all guests.

Property was beautiful and it was clear the grounds Keepers cared about doing a good job. Staff very warm and friendly. Room clean and well cared for since built with only minor wear showing. Major issue was a family with two small children above us running, slamming doors, and dragging furniture across the wooden floors from 6am until after midnight. It was like staying in a college dorm but worse. Since it was pouring rain we couldn't go out to the gardens as much as we had planned. I think the hotel needs to make sure not to put families with children above those staying for relaxation - it ruined the stay. If I hadn't spent so much money on the reservation I would have left. The mattress was also very poor even though the linens were high quality. Be sure to ask for a top floor room!

It's quiet, peaceful, and calm. So beautiful out here
