The Dewberry Charleston

We were a little underwhelmed when we stayed at the Dewberry. It is nice but not for the price you pay. We stayed at another hotel for 3 days before that & had impeccable service & rooms so maybe that is why but we didn't feel like there was anything really special about our room here. The location is far away from all the things we wanted to do, which was fine because we don't mind walking, but just something to note. The rooftop bar is a must & you get preferred access if you stay there which is really what you are paying for. I had added an upgrade to our room for a bottle of champagne to be sent up to our room when we checked in but it never came. We left early the next morning to go to the airport & when we got in the car my husband realized we left some pictures in our room so I sent the hotel a message to see if they could get them for us before they cleaned the room, but I never even heard back from anyone. Overall the stay was fine but we just figured for the price it would be a little more upscale.

They need to add a cover over the valet... Roof extension. People were getting soaked during rains. This was my complaint the last time I stayed at this hotel... The citrus club is a train wreck. Definitely need better management over the citrus club, and more common sense. This would take a very good property into a great property...

Had the BEST visit! Everything was meticulously curated, and comfortable. The customer service was top notch and the rooms are impeccable. Can’t say enough. I will definitely stay here again.

The rooftop bar situation where guests don't have automatic access over outsiders is unfair. Didn't know there were bikes accessible. Should be at least croissants available with coffee in lobby. They need decent local maps with interest points shown.

Wow, what amazing service, this is what a lux hotel should be. From the moment we stepped in , all our needs were anticipated and everything was handled seamlessly. The room was comfortable, the rooftop bar great. The restaurant at the hotel was under renovation so that was a let down. All that said, exceptional hotel!

Love the location, near Marion Square, easy walk to King Street. Breakfast…….need to order something different next time.

There were no amenities at this hotel. We thought the room was overpriced for the quality. No proper restaurant, difficulty getting into rooftop lounge. The lounge downstairs had out of control children running around. The Dewberry hotel was disappointing for the cost and I do not recommend.

The stay was amazing. The staff is fantastic and the amenities are wonderful. This is a fantastic top-notch five star hotel I would stay there again and recommend to all my friends

Excellent location and staff

Small, dark room. Very noisy ( the 7th floor was shaking at 7:30am on Saturday, when the yoga event started). At $1,000 a night one should expect more.

Beautiful hotel, amazing roof top with view of the city. Staff is a bit pretentious and the bartender took a while to warm up to being pleasant. The room was spacious, bed comfortable. We stayed here to see a concert in Charleston. I would stay here again and hopefully staff has turned over and more pleasant people are hired who enjoy speaking with their guests.

This was a gorgeous hotel!! the room was stunning. Our view was even better. It was in walking distance to everything. The rooftop bar was so fun and the waitstaff went above and beyond. we will definitely be visiting the Dewberry again!

This is a great place to stay but very expensive. Our room was small and service was very good but not impeccable - it took me a long time to get into my room after I was told it would only be 15 minutes and there were no umbrellas at the concierge (only in the rooms). But if you have money to burn it's very nice.

The entire place is my favorite and there are a lot of choices in Charleston. Probably the most comfortable beds and pillows. Also, the finishes are just gorgeous. The hotel always smells incredible too and very clean. My only area of improvement, I wish they'd remember me. I've stayed there a dozen times and they always ask, "Is it your first time with us?" It would be nice to have some sort of reward program.

The rooftop bar and the ground floor bar at the Dewberry are top notch. The Ordinary and Prohibition are two great restaurants close to the hotel. The staff were great and hospitality was top notch. Overall, I had a wonderful stay here and would definitely look to book the hotel again the next time I am in Charleston.

One of the best hotel stays we’ve experienced. From the beautiful room, roof top bar, coffee and tea offering in the mornings, and the car service they offered—we could not have been more pleased. We hope to stay there again in the future!

A dream stay in Charleston! ? The Dewberry Hotel exceeded our expectations with its perfect location, stunning rooms, and fantastic perks. We loved riding the bikes around the city and enjoying the convenient car service to Halls Chophouse

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at The Dewberry. I stayed in a signature king room and everything about it was cozy, chic, and clean. The service was also excellent. If I’m ever in Charleston again, I will definitely stay here.

Great location on Marion Square. Loved the design and decor of the room and public areas. Especially appreciated the staff, from the welcoming and friendly bell hops on arrival to the top notch service at check in, the lobby bar and the rooftop. The size of the gym was a bit small. Bikes were always in use so didn’t get to use them.

Everything! there was nothing about the Dewberry that wasn't perfect, it made our honeymoon trip absolutely fantastic. Staff were nice, attentive, and the rooftop bar was absolutely lovely. Nothing of note

Very loud neighbors. Loud street noise. Pocket door in bathroom did not shut. Gone 8 hrs during the day and no cleaning done.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Charleston. We loved that we could walk to King Street and the hotel has a complementary car service for rides should you need one. The room was lovely and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. Generally speaking the service is was great. We had breakfast downstairs in the morning and once our food was delivered, we never saw our waiter again. That was very disappointing considering how expensive our breakfast was. It would have been nice to order another cup of coffee at least.

Check in was nice and valet staff were extra nice Room was a little loud- could hear staff next door and other room. Wait staff at citrus club and the living room at night were not friendly

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. And the service was excellent. The one thing that was lost in communication was the charge per day to park and use the valet service. I wasn’t aware of the 50.00 charge per day.

They said they had complimentary car service drop off. It was $35. They let a wedding event take over the bar and ignored actual guests. They entered the room with privacy on door. Hotel is not in a good location to walk safely.

This is a fabulous property in the heart of Charleston! You cannot go wrong staying here. Perfect size and beautiful on the inside. We loved it! Easy to get anywhere in town either walking or by uber. Cozy and friendly....what more could you ask for.

Wonderful mother/daughter weekend in Charleston at the Dewberry!! Staff was great especially the concierge staff - Meghan, Paige and Annabelle (?). But for me, the internet is terrible and unreliable, and the TVs are not smart TVs with streaming apps. This is an issue because streaming from a laptop has buffering issues because of how bad the internet is. I had to do some upgrades on may machine and what should have taken 5-10 minutes took 2 hours. And I couldn't even stream on my other device at the same time. That's bad, but perhaps what most people who stay at The Dewberry want - a non-technologically advanced stay. (plus there is no coffee other than in the morning; I don't count espresso as offering coffee - I had to walk to Starbucks across Marion Square to get coffee in the afternoon)

There was one slight little hiccup with getting our luggage upstairs, it delayed a few things for us, but we stayed positive and so did the staff. They went out of their way to make our experience a wonderful one. Thank you Haley and Kyla. This is an exceptional hotel.

We have stayed at the Dewberry several times and it is our favorite place to stay in Charleston! Our visit on the weekend of 7/22 was amazing as always. We have already re-booked for a weekend in August. This is our preferred hotel due to staff friendliness, cleanliness, decor, rooms, food, location, etc. An absolutely beautiful hotel filled with ambiance, southern style, wonderful smells, etc.

Easy walk to all the fun. The Citrus Club had delicious snacks and drinks and an amazing outdoor space with plenty of shade on a hot day. I will not stay anywhere else in Charleston. 11/10 would HIGHLY recommend

The Dewberry is a lovely hotel with top quality staff. The food, however isn’t great. I did in-room dining one night - they delivered cold, burnt fries. This should never have been sent to my room. Disappointed

An amazing and beautiful hotel. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Our room was stunning! They even provided a steamer in the room. 10/10

Great property, the staff very friendly, and courteous

It was an OK experience for us. Very small room. Restaurant not open. Room service wasn’t the best nor was the room set up for eating a meal. Staff was over the top accommodating.
