    We loved everything about our stay at Charleston Place the only problem we had was we got caught in a rainstorm and we were headed back to our room and half way down the hotels lobby my wife slipped and fell very awkwardly.She said she was fine but the next day she could hardly walk

    Even staff member greeted using the hotel with a smile and a warm greeting. The hotel was meticulous, and welcoming. Your wait staff were the most personable and attentive servers, in the restaurant and bar. 10/10 The only downfall was seeing Ilhan Omar in the lobby of the hotel. It was Memorial Day weekend, and the Patriotic appreciation of Charleston is what brought us to Charleston. My entire family served in the military ( Father- Vietnam War, Grandfather WWII, Mom Lt. Col. in Army). Omar is truly anti-American and has called 77.3 million Americans dumb.. I know the hotel has nothing to do with the Democratic PAC convention or where it is held, but she was a real downer.

    There were so many highlights with our stay. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony, which we found delightful. Our room was newly renovated and beautiful. Very comfortable bed and immaculately clean bathroom. Housekeeping was exceptional. Breakfast in the Palmetto Room was an outstanding start to our day, from the exquisite Bernardaud China place settings to the excellent service and food. The entire ambiance of Charleston Place is restful, elegant and welcoming. We enjoyed all the beautiful floral arrangements and listening to the harpist during the afternoons. The location is perfect for shopping City Market as well as upscale King Street, all within walking distance. We found the entire staff to be very friendly and helpful. It was an outstanding stay, and we look forward to our next visit.

    The hotel is perfectly situated to what we like downtown. Every staff member was helpful & nice. We stayed in suite 3D. The King bed is very comfortable. The American Leather pullout is very comfortable (our son slept on it). We were going to bring our dog, they even had a bed and bowls for him, but our plans changed. The turndown service is nice to get new towels after being out a shower and clean towels are appreciated. The shops in and around the property are fun. The landscaping and courtyard are lovely. The new American Park nearby is great. Save room for brunch (12-3 make a reservation) in the Palmetto room on Sunday (we were too full after our Sat meals) it looked amazing tomahawk steaks, pastries, etc. One issue is there's a separate door to the toilet from the sink area, I felt like you had to back up into the toilet to close the door. But a door to the toilet is always appreciated.

    We visited the Charleston Place in 2024 for Thanksgiving weekend for the kickoff to Christmas and the stay was no less than MAGICAL. Our child was enthralled with the carolers signing and the lighting of the giant tree followed by bubble "snow." She received cookies and milk at bedtime and a stuffed animal to tuck her in. It was amazing and we wanted to return for the same experience so rebooked for the same weekend in 2025. However, 2025 was not the same. I understand the parking lot was getting refurbished, but the bubble snow was a joke on the terrace. The cookies came at 9:00, far past our child's bedtime, and there was no stuffed animal. I left my makeup bag and called 4 hours later to report, followed up four time and it was never turned in..... The magic was unfortunately left in the past.

    The staff from valet to housekeeping are the friendliest group of people I've ever had the privilege of coming in contact with. The facility itself is spotless with the exception of the areas under construction. It is within walking distance of plenty of good places to eat and shopping. Highly recommend this hotel. I was impressed and I'm hard to please. :)

    The location, room accommodations, and staff were exceptional! We were welcomed very warmly and promptly. The concierge desk always seemed to have someone there with multiple recommendations regarding where to eat, what to do, and how we could easily get there. Housekeeping was always on top of turn down, as well as keeping things orderly during the day, which we appreciated. One of our favorite parts of the Charleston Place was ending our evenings at the Troubadour Club. There isn't much that we didn't like about our stay. There was one instance in which my husband was in the shower and the bathroom sink began to fill above the upper drain. We called downstairs and they said they notified engineering to get someone up there to look at it, but we didn't see anyone come to the room before we left. However, it was fine when we returned so I'm sure it was addressed.

    The location is great. The cleaning personel is exceptional The breakfast waiters personel could use a bit more training and if not friendliness at least professionalism. If they are not happy with their current assignment i guess they dont have to stay there. For the price charged it is a rip off. The rooms are very nice and coisy and good size but extremely noisy. The walls seem to be paper-thin we could hear the next room phone conversation or taking a shower… so when there are kids as we had you can imagine how messy it becomes. Cherry on the cake, the fire alarm and evacuation at 1am in the morning of Christmas eve with no assistance from the hotel personel and no explanation on what happened… i am sure the hotel will respond they take guests security very seriously, well having a non-functioning fire alarm system and having an evacuation of the hotel in the middle of the night by stairs incl. very elderly people is not taking guest security seriously.

    Worn rooms. Needs refreshing No snacks in room but no room service at night whether. The worst was my daughter was getting married and in a suite and got back to the room and they had done their amazing turn down service but no one delivered the meals and champagne that were left at the front desk to be put in their rooms for after the wedding and they came back starving of course. Found the food the next day at the front desk. Cold and spoiled. For how expensive this hotel is and how many rooms we had booked there, frankly I’m appalled. They ruined a special moment for her.

The website did not do justice for what the reality was and it was only made better by the top notch service by every single staff member we encountered.     Room were nice and clean. Most of the rooms don't have great views. The internet is very iffy. Staff are extremely nice. Restaurants in the hotel are very good and worth the price. Hotel location is fantastic and you can walk to most places. You will enjoy your stay in this place.

I was very disappointed they could not initially place us somewhere away from the construction. If I had known it would’ve been that bad, I would’ve booked elsewhere.     We were very excited to stay at the Charleston Place and experience one of the most well known historic locations in downtown Charleston. The staff were incredibly friendly, efficient, and not only catered to our every need, but anticipated it. The only reason for issue was the mass amount of construction labeled as “reimagination.” The main entrance to the building was closed, the iconic Charleston Grille was closed (and one of our primary reasons for booking), the rooftop pool was closed, construction above us (we stayed on the 5th floor) from 8 AM - 6 PM everyday and weekend days, and there was always a strong smell of sewage in the lobby. We were not informed of the “reimagination” of the building until two days before our stay and there was no reduction in room pricing reflected. Again, we had a wonderful time in Charleston and the Charleston Place, but this unforeseen and unknown construction made what was an excellent stay only a good stay.

    Unfortunately the sauna and pool were under construction during our visit. But the spa was still enjoyable. The restaurants were incredible including palmetto cafe and meeting in the market. I will be back for the chicken pot pie! Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff.

    We stayed at the Charleston Place for our anniversary weekend and my wife’s birthday weekend with our 5 month old baby.     Great location and lovely There were blowers in the hallway outside our room -311. It affected our ability to sleep. And the pool was closed. I feel that I paid to have the pool amenity and not have blowers going continuously . I also ordered room service. I was not advised that there was a 22 percent tip and a delivery fee -which amounted to about 100.00 when ordering.

    Truly exceptional stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their attentiveness and eye for detail—they triple-checked everything to make sure our experience was seamless.     However, the one major downside was the quality of the beds. Both my mother and I experienced back pain throughout our stay, which was disappointing given the otherwise luxurious experience. The mattresses felt low quality and lacked the comfort expected at a hotel of this caliber. It’s frustrating because everything else was absolutely top-notch, and I would love to return—if only the sleep quality matched the rest of the experience.

    Great place to stay if you love having prime location and great service. The only thing is while they are doing construction on pool and spa (until Summer 2025) make sure to ask at check in to be in a room away from that area of the hotel. Otherwise, lovely stay.

    Would not have booked if we were aware of renovations underway. On vacation and awaken 2 of 3 mornings at 7am with hammering followed by fire drill practice same mornings. However, a beautiful property. The noise just took away from the experience.

    Great property in a great location; the rooms show some signs of wear; pillows felt like they were 20 years old and the room we had on the 4th floor had constant wind noise coming from roof. But, really nice hotel otherwise; great location.

    The construction going on all day Saturday which seemed to be directly above our heads was so horrible and started so early. We knew about the weekday construction and the memo in the room confirmed it. But it was NOT for Saturday. only Monday thru Friday. Anyway, it was not great. So now we looking around and maybe try another place in the same area because the location is amazing.
