    The hotel is in a great central location, has free parking, and a shuttle (extra fee) if needed to sightsee downtown. It was clean, in a very safe area, and the lobby nicely decorated, although there is some need for maintenance around the property. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, especially the croissant egg sandwiches. We chose this hotel for game playing tables in the lobby and for daily pool time. The pool was nice and not too crowded; however, it desperately needs more umbrellas! One umbrella over one table was very skimpy and always taken. It would be a great addition to have HOOKS in the room to dry bathing suits and/or towels. Lastly, for longer stays, it would be very nice to have better cable selections. I was happy to see the possibility to stream on YouTube or Prime, however, I did not have my password to use it. So, remember to keep your streaming passwords handy. We would definitely stay here again!

    Our room was on the fourth floor with a balcony, great view. The room appeared very clean n fact the doors were shiny, however, I walked on these floors and my white socks were completely black after 5 min walking on the floor. Good thing we brought flip flops to walk around the room. Aside from the floor, the room was clean. Our biggest issue was the AC. The outlet was 4” away from one of the queen beds and even if we had it at 62 deg, the room never got below 71 deg. Now you might think that’s ok but the temp by the other bed was 79!. The unit only saw temps close to the first bed so the room never got to a normal temperature of roughly 72 deg. I would not return to this hotel given these issues.

The breakfast was very good. we had a very nice view from our room of the pool and the boats. unfortunately during our stay the pool and hot tub were not working, but we were allowed to go to the sister hotel just next door and use theirs. The TV in our room which was across from our bed was ridiculously large. It was so large and hanging on the wall that it stuck out and I walked into it at night.

    Very friendly staff, and they had covered parking available. Location was about 10 minutes from downtown, so close enough to easily get to, but away from the hustle and bustle. It was pricey, and the Riverview balcony room has a giant parking lot in front of it before the river.

    Springhill Suites offered a shuttle to downtown Charleston and MUSC. $7 a day unlimited travel. When you were ready to come back to the hotel all you had to do was call. We parked our car upon arrival and did not get back in it until we were ready to leave for home. What an awesome service.

    Our stay at Springhill Suites Riverview truly exceeded our expectations! The room was great, breakfast was delicious, the staff was very helpful with our questions about the area, the gym was nicely equipped, and the shuttle was an economical way to get into town to see the sights. We are already looking forward to returning next year!

    Close by location to historic Charleston and James Island - away from the crazy traffic. The shuttle into town was only $7 for the entire day. A great service considering parking prices in town. Although it is very clean, the hotel is tired. I was surprised that so much maintenance was needed at a Marriott chain hotel. There was absolutely no where to shop or dine without getting in your car.

    The outside of the building is great, the inside could definitely use updating. The tub had a chip in it that looked like it was spray painted and the shower head itself definitely looked like it was 26 years old. The price must be because of location

    This is a very hotel, but it is not in walking distance to downtown Charleston. But a lot cheaper than hotels in Charleston's downtowm. It's an easy ride into Charleston which has plenty of easy parking.

    The facility as a whole is nice and gives easy and cheaper access to downtown Charleston. But room 309 was really bad. I can’t speak to the other rooms but this one was bad. There was a pipe within the wall that had water running through it at all parts of the day and made it hard to get to sleep at night. The toilet overflowed with minimal usage on the first day. The shower dripped down on to the faucet below and made a loud clanging sound whenever someone showered which could be heard all through out the room even with the door closed. And on the last night the hospitality crew put the sheets on wrong so that they pulled loose from the corners and were stretched too tight. Not a great experience.

    We paid extra to have a balcony room. The balcony is the size of a window box. No chairs on the balcony. We happened to have two chairs in the car. When we put the chairs on balcony, next to each other, we couldn’t even open the door.

    We paid extra to have a balcony room. The balcony is the size of a window box. No chairs on the balcony. We happened to have two chairs in the car. When we put the chairs on balcony, next to each other, we couldn’t even open the door.

    Room was not very clean, TV internet did not work, and when the engineer came to fix it he gave me a number to call instead of fixing it. Housekeeper came to make up the room at 8:45 and we weren’t ready. She asked if I wanted clean towels, which I took, but then the room didn’t get cleaned up at all.

Ceiling in shower looks like black mold was just painted over and is starting to grow through again. Maid service just made-up beds and replenished towels.     No problems. There were only 2 washcloths for 4 people. We had to go down ti the front desk for a hair dryer as there wasn’t one in our room. Calling down did not work as the line was always busy.

    We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s been years, since we have been displeased with a hotel. We had to change rooms twice because of a problem. The first room had mold and the bathroom paint job was terrible. I could see patches of paint in the bath tub. The second room we moved to (within 1hr of check in), my husband woke up and there was water all over the floor, some type of leakage. We are now moving again to another room. The carpet in the hallways needs to be replaced because of the smell. The bathtubs in all 3 rooms were painted spotty therefore they need to be replaced. We were not compensated at all. We were suppose to receive 10,000 points and didn’t receive anything. We need to be compensated either by a refund or a free night stay. I will be following up on this.

    The kitchenette area was very useful. The couch was hard and too long in the seat to be comfortable to sit on, so basically useless. The bedding area and “closet” were cramped. The separate sink and toilet/shower was nice. There was only one towel bar to hang wet towels. The bath was slippery with nothing to prevent a fall. The pressure of the shower was so hard to be painful. The light over the sink was too strong. The toilet paper was excessively thin and cheap. The TV channels were very limited. The breakfast was ok, but too salty for us. The elevator doors were excessively slow to open. Close parking was abundant. It was easy to get in and out of hotel and an easy drive to downtown Charleston as well as most attractions.

    Having the boat marina at your doorstep was nice, unfortunately the weather precluded our walking around. Parking was convenient and the neighborhood very quiet considering we were minutes away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Charleston. Our room killed the whole experience for us. An oversized mini-kitchen/office space overshadowed a tiny cramped bathroom and bedroom, with one bed side placed against the wall such ťhat 2 people had to get in and out of the same side. The floor was bare vinyl, giving the room an eerie hollow echo when talking. Maybe we had an odd room, but the layout was really messed up! Plus we could hear all of the conversations in the hallway. It was a bad night. Not what i expected from Marriott.

    Traveled to Charleston for the weekend, got a room and as soon as we got into the room it smelled like fish. The smell was coming from the refrigerator, we were able to switch rooms but the room they put us in had another person laying in the bed!!! After going back down to the front desk again they gave us another room only to get to the 4th floor and figure out the room key doesn’t work.

    All the staff at this property were wonderful I wish I remembered her name but who checked us in she was great we got in town early and she was able to have a room clean and get us in early so we didn't have to drive around and wait. Hats off to her, she comforted my kids and gave them snacks. Made us feel really welcomed, and right at home. The pool and hot tub both were clean. The fitness center was equally clean and had refreshments. Beds are firm, linens were clean. All in all the weekday breakfast was plain and very simple. Wonderful view as well, the outside seating area for eating was great. If we needed anything extra like towels, linens, and soap etc, the front desk staff took care of it with pleasure. We greatly appreciate them, well worth the money.

    While this hotel offers free parking and free breakfast, the positive ends there. All the cons other travelers described were spot-on. During our stay, it was particularly difficult to understand why our room didn’t get cleaned and towels replenished the second day after asking the housekeeper directly and then again making sure with the front-desk staff. While they seemed to have the Southern charm of friendliness, they didn’t seem to understand the issue or to provide a satisfactory answer. Our family did enjoy Charleston but we sure won’t be staying here again.

    There were visible remnants of hair in the shower and nail clippings from a previous guest on the pull-out sofa in our room. The pool and hot tub had debris floating in them. The breakfast was satisfactory, with good coffee, mediocre eggs, and subpar bacon. The muffins were store-bought and of good quality, and the pre-made breakfast sandwiches that were kept warm in a slow cooker were also good. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

    Nice Riverview with balcony. Bathroom needs update especially toilet and rusty microwave in the room. Balcony has built in bench but it’s situated directly above a/c vent in hallway so all the hot air from a/c blows out on bench. Temp was already in 100s at this visit, with hot air from a/c we were unable to use the balcony our entire stay. Banging breakfast tho!

    Registered for rewards and ensured we knew where everything was. For the nightly rate charged i was underwhelmed with the room. The tub had a rust spot, the toilet backed up we had to get a plunger from Home Depot to take care of it. The bathroom vanity went down extremely slow. Brushing my teeth was an unpleasant experience. The refrigerator didn’t get cold. The mattress was extremely firm which killed my back. The pool experience was Good along with the view from our room.
