It was a nice stay but a little outdated. Exhaust fan didn't work in the bathroom but overall I would stay there again.
- 5/5
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, which was perfect for us. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the main living room, and each bedroom had its own bathroom. We were very comfortable staying here, it was an easy drive into the heart of Charleston, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown. All in all, a great place to stay, with lots of room to unwind and relax.
- 3.5/5
They didn't have a good selection for breakfast it could have been better. The TV didn't have good choice of channel.
- 2/5
Rooms, especially bathrooms, are dated and need updating. Bathroom space is especially small. Tub/ shower was very slippery and borderline dangerous. Breakfast was not very good. Do not plan on staying here in the future.
- 5/5
Great staff and room
- 2/5
Death trap bathroom tub. So slippery you were afraid to move. And this was a handicap room! better than average breakfast
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
We had to move rooms twice. The air in the first didn’t work in one of the bedrooms. It didn’t work at all in the second for either bedroom. In the first room the kitchen cabinets were so dirty on the fronts. In the second the smoke detector was hanging out of the ceiling by a wire. All 3 tubs had clearly been painted and were peeling and stained and even had sandy feeling stuff all over the bottom of one. Stains on the carpet, gross looking showers, and generally just gave an icky vibe. All the fridges were damaged beyond comprehension and it was all so old and so worn down. Not at all what any of the images online look like and nothing like you’d expect so close to Charleston. Total letdown and honestly felt like we really overpaid because it was so run down and awful. The day staff were great about moving us but the woman who checked us in that first evening had attitude, like she was doing us a favor and we were annoying her.

Clean, well proportioned room. Plenty of parking and pleasant breakfast. It’s a bit dated and the pool is small and uninviting looking. Not the easiest place to get into town from.

Everything was fantastic until we used the beds! The mattresses were way too soft!

Glad that hotels are now offering kitchens. Appreciated the shuttle to the historic section of town. Staff was responsive when it was late for the 7am shuttle. Why so many different prices when trying to book? They had music piped in the main hallway ALL NIGHT LONG. Our door was just around the corner. Why do hotels feel the need they have to jam in huge TVs that dominate the rooms? Some of the doors didn't close easily or well. A slider on the ground floor didn't latch well - a security risk.

It was nice having a warm breakfast complimentary each morning, however was not a ton to choose from and the premade breakfast sandwiches were cold so just threw it away. The rooms were not very clean and could use an update. Overall the hotel was average, staff was friendly and location was convenient to get over to historic part of city.

Close to downtown, clean rooms but not much storage. Breakfast was a little lacking. Overall, very comfortable stay.
- 5/5
I made a mistake in scheduling our stay but Romona Ferrell at the front desk was extremely helpful and cordial in coming up with a solution. Staff was excellent the whole time of our stay.
- 3/5
Stay was okay. Definitely an older hotel for the price but close to Charleston and downtown. Breakfast was nothing special but at least it was included.
- 3.5/5
Breakfast is not special. The stuff was cutting the grass at 7:30 in the morning. The outside door next to our window was making extremely loud sound.

There was no bedding for the sofa sleeper, when i called to request the bedding, the staff at the front desk said she would have the bedding brought to the room. They never did. I also did not receive bonvoy points for the stay.
- 2.5/5
the room was close to an alternative exit that gave us quick access to the parking lot Apart from grits and oats, the vegetarian breakfast was mainly packaged food since the waffle maker was broken and there were no breakfast potatoes in any shape or form The bathroom did not have an exhaust! kitchen was also partially equipped with no toaster

They could not find my reservation because of the apostrophe in my name, they did not have a room for me, 35 minutes of standing in lobby while staff went behind closed doors to “figure it out”, they “upgraded” me to a room with no coffee pot, a fed full size refrigerator and a closet right next to bed with some kind of very loud generator in it
- 5/5
We had a great experience without using any of the amenities.
- 5/5
Spacious, clean room. Closed balcony was very comfortable during wind and rain. No makeup remover cloths in bathroom

The staff was super nice. Free parking and close to downtown. Dirty dishes in the cupboard. The floor/carpet was wet from the kitchen area and never dried up. Maintenance came the next day and said he would have to get his supervisor to find out why it was wet. We left the next day before the supervisor ever came. Also found a used plastic glove in the living room.

Very spacious kitchen/living room area. Staff was super friendly. Only 10 minutes away from Charleston downtown (historic area) and free parking. Excellent breakfast.

Nothing A flooding incident occurred during my 13-night business trip. I had to evacuate in the middle of the night at 1 am to change rooms. Unfortunately, half of my clothes, including very expensive designer clothes worth over $3,000, were damaged. Consequently, I had to leave the hotel a day earlier due to the inconvenience and the extremely loud air conditioning. (I was obviously reimbursed for that day.) Despite my repeated inquiries and ongoing requests for reimbursement for my damaged clothes or at least coverage for the remainder of my trip (which is still less than the cost of the damaged clothes), they continue to send me daily to call again because “management” is unavailable. I am still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for another week, but if I don’t receive a reimbursement, I will be forced to seek legal action through my lawyers. This situation is simply ridiculous!

Beautiful property Fire alarms going off ~ sprinkler system froze and flooded part of 4th floor
- 3/5
Everything was going so well during my stay in room 412, from Jan. 29-Feb 2, 2026. The staff were friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was just great. The room was fine. Unfortunately, late Sunday, Feb. 1 night(around 11 pm to around 12 am, the fire alarm went off and would not stop. I was asleep, preparing for my trip home early the next day. Called front desk. No need to evacuate. Called 10 minutes later; fire department en route to help with alarm. About 10 minutes later started to hear water running from locked closet in room. Thought it was raining, but it wasn’t. Poked head outside. Saw firefighters, and water running like. Stream in the hallway. Then water began leaking onto my bed, and from the locked closet to my carpet. Firefighters told me to pack up, as well as, an employee on my floor. Packed rapidly, went to lobby to join others. Was given room 131. Phone did not work, and I had requested wake up call. Did not sleep at all, because I was afraid to miss my booked uber to airport at 8:20 am. I was told that we would be receiving some form of compensation, but have received no notification. I expect to receive some kind of refund for that final, terrible, stressful night on Feb 1. I do not travel much, so hotel vouchers and points will not do. Everyone at the hotel was wonderful, helpful, and so very apologetic. I would like to receive some kind of refund. Thank you so much for your time.
- 5/5
Located right off the bridge into Charleston it was easy to get wherever we needed to go. The breakfast was a-ok. The cleaning staff was friendly and did their job well. But my favorite part was the pool was heated! The hot tub was too but honestly I think the pool was warmer. The location felt very safe.
- 3.5/5
Convenient to downtown and a reasonably priced shuttle. Bed was very comfortable. Heat could not keep up with the cold temperatures and we woke up to a 59 degree room. Not that comfortable at that point.
- 4.5/5
The staff was wonderful.
- 4.5/5
The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were super kind and helpful. Our room was a little small, but it was clean and comfortable. Overall very pleasant experience! The only thing I’d recommend is just having a better area for service animals. There was only a small area of grass on the property we had to walk our Service dog across the street.
- 5/5
Excellent as it should be and it was It was fine. Although a common suggestion is for a very dim nightlight on the way to the restroom. Yes it’s just a little thing.
- 5/5
Room very nice with full kitchen and sitting area. Excellent staff
- 4/5
We have stayed here three times in the last few months. Everything is usually great. We stayed in room 130 and when we arrived there was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door from the previous guest. We were also surprised to find this room very noisy in the hallway etc. The air conditioner in the room was also extremely noisy so we had to shut it off so we could sleep.

- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was very good. Very clean, beautiful heated pool and wonderful hot tub. Not in the center of Charleston, which for us was perfect. Loved this place and give 10 stars ?

Clean rooms
- 5/5
Spacious clean and comfortable rooms. Offered an included breakfast buffet with several options. Quiet area in a scenic setting
- 4/5
The hot tub could use some upgrades. The jets were not very strong and there were no jets by you neck/shoulder area. Only lower back and feet.
- 5/5
The staff is friendly and help. Our room was cleaned every day and the hotel felt safe and clean. Kitchen is well equipped.
- 5/5
The kitchen was well equipped. Very convenient. I wish the breakfast was more varied. Spending five days at the hotel it was boring. However the breakfast tasted good, great quality food.
- 5/5
Perfect location to be close to downtown and parking is amazing! They also just started a transportation bus to downtown and hospital. We loved our room, 2 private rooms and a kitchen and loving area! Perfect stay and the staff was amazing
- 5/5
Lovely stay. Very clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Staff was polite AND HELPFUL
- 2/5
Was not prepared for over $100 extra for my dog to stay with us. When i booked, i put two adults and one pet and expected the price i paid which seemed a bit high to me. But when i showed up, they charged me an additional $120 for one night!!
- 5/5
The hotel staff were very friendly and never failed to welcome us as we came or left throughout the day. The breakfast was hit and fresh, and the person working there was excellent at keeping everything well stocked and the room tidy- she was wonderful! Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious- it had everything we needed for the long weekend. The hotel location was perfect for our needs. It was quiet and peaceful, but still just a very short drive to the historic downtown area and all of the local attractions that we wanted to explore. I definitely recommend staying here.
- 5/5
Same breakfast selections every day there. Mix it up!
- 3/5
Furniture was shabby. Needs a refresh. Mattress sagged.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was soacipus and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and they have free parking. Hotel is centrally located to area attractions if you have a vehicle.
- 4/5
The staff was very nice. We checked in a little early and the only room they had available was a handicapped room. This was fine, however located near the elevator so the bell was constantly ringing. Had we realized this before accepting the room we would likely have waited for another. TV’s were out during most of our stay. This was an inconvenient as my husband was staying here after a surgery procedure in Charleston. As a result we spent most of time in the room. Thank goodness for cell phones!
- 5/5
great place to stay if you like to be out of the city but close to it and the beach. staff was very professional t=and the room was quiet, clean, and spacious. Highly recommended.
- 4/5
Really easy to get to downtown from here. Can’t beat the price for the space. Everyone is super nice and the beds are comfy.
- 5/5
We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very nice and the hotel met all of our standards. We will definitely stay again
- 5/5
I booked this hotel because it had the option of a room with a kitchen. It was a great hotel for a fair price. The staff was friendly, room comfortable and hotel clean. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
Inadequate number of parking spaces
- 3/5
It was kind of an awkward set up to be honest. The breakfast was absolutely horrible with powdered eggs...expected more from a Marriott. Staff was SUPER nice, so at least the property has that going for them! Location is GREAT, as long as there is no flooding! We missed that by a DAY! Overall, it was 3 stars!
- 5/5
The staff and service were outstanding. They could not have been more helpful. I would stay there again without hesitation.
- 5/5
Breakfast can improve . Eggs and sausage wasn’t too great ! Loved the sandwiches though
- 5/5
Staying at the Residence Inn was very accommodating for my family. It was spacious and no one felt crowded. I had no complaints from anyone. Definitely, I will revisit this location when I come back to my hometown of Charleston.
- 5/5
very nice hotel
- 4/5
Good room. Very nice workers
- 4/5
Great customer service at the front desk and clean room.
- 5/5
Easy place to stay. Good parking. Great breakfast.
- 4/5
The staff was amazing. Very pleasant and overall nice. Was offered complimentary beer and snacks as well as plenty of help overall. I have no issues with the staffing or place in general my only real quarrel was with the room and specifically the AC in the room being loud since the air handler(?) was in the room.
- 4/5
After we got room preference (king bed) straightened out (it was a queen) the desk job in making the correction. Great service. Breakfast could have been better
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean, they do need to empty the garbage outside a bit more, there was a family reunion and they did fill up the cans quickly. Should have had the pool open as the tropical depression wasn't any where near us. There is not a hot tube on the property. The breakfast was good wish they would have had grits instead of oatmeal.
- 2/5
I got in at 12:30 at night with my family, the comforter on the already made bed has make up and hair on the inside. There’s mold all in the room. It smells like smoke. I went and asked the manager for a new comforter they did not have one he gave me sheet. I also asked for an extra pillow. They did not have that either. also, my suite was 123 placing my headboard against the back door which malfunction and was slamming my entire visit. I did tell the manager to try to get somebody to fix it, but was not successful. I did not sleep. They could not move my room because they were booked up.
- 2/5
Our room had an odor musky. The hot water took 30 minutes to get hot. Carpet was dirty. Need to do some hard cleaning. It was ok but could have been better.
- 5/5
Liked that it was near Marina and we could walk to California dreaming. Liked the treats and complementary beer though I wish it were wine. Lovely pool and patio area. Loved the 2 bdrm suites.
- 5/5
Fantastic job everyone!!!
- 5/5
Fine
- 5/5
Staff was above and beyond welcoming!
- 5/5
Great stay! We will definitely stay there again! Thomas was excellent from the moment we got there with a very warm greeting to the moment we checked out! Thanks for the hospitality Thomas!!!
- 5/5
This hotel is close to the downtown area without downtown prices.. desk staff was knowledgeable of dining in the area.
- 5/5
The suite was amazing
- 5/5
Staying at this hotel was a great experience! The property was beautiful and clean. The staff went above and beyond. They were so friendly and accommodating. Ramona and the other young man working the front desk, we’re always quick to greet us each time they saw us. Kimberly, the hotel manager, was outstanding. She is full of energy and has a beautiful smile. She was constantly working to make sure that everyone had what they needed, each morning during breakfast. We also had several requests and each time, she would arrive at our room in minutes. The level of service at this hotel was amazing. We are looking forward to returning soon.
- 3/5
Great location however the smoke alarm started chirping around 11pm and didn’t stop. We didn’t bother to get another room as we were getting up at 3am for a fishing trip.
- 5/5
Great suite. Very reasonably priced compared to hotels in the middle of Charleston. We love the Residence Inn concept.
- 5/5
Clean, large suite/ great breakfast/ friendly staff
- 5/5
Close to the city of Charleston
- 4/5
Good basic hotel. Tub needs to be updated. Bedroom a bit small for the furniture! Maybe a wall tv would be better so you could walk to the other side of the bed. Front desk staff were very nice.
- 2/5
The rooms could certainly be cleaner, shower was gross especially around the handles, need to pay attention and do a thorough cleaning. Dusting also isn’t done regularly.
- 5/5
Every thing good
- 4/5
The first room we were booked in was not cleaned properly, so I requested a different room, and they were very nice about it and switched us immediately. The new room we got was the exact same room but clean, and we loved it. The balcony offered plenty of privacy and protection from the wind. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the full kitchen was a big plus. All of the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. I will highly recommend this hotel!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our accommodations, people were very friendly. Pool and hot tub area were clean and always had towels.
- 5/5
My girlfriend and I hadva wonderful stay in Charleston. The staff was professional and very helpful. My girlfriend thought the breakfast was fantastic! I had the opportunity interact with staff members Nyla, Ramone, Avis, and Melanie, and that really made our stay great. Avis provided terrific suggestions on the things to do... and places to eat... Outstanding!
- 5/5
The best hotel on our trip down South. Clean, easy to find, good parking and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff.

Margaret who cooked up some spaghetti Thursday evening with wine beer dessert etc. I hope I have her name correct she talked with us a hot minute Quiet area. Older but had all we needed.

- 5/5
My stay at this property was overall very good. The staff was helpful and the property was clean and everything seemed to be in good order. I had a restful stay.
- 5/5
The stay was great. The suite was very nice. The bed slep great. Lots of space. Very quite atmosphere. Will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Great service
- 3/5
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff, from check-in to the breakfast attendees was fantastic! The negatives are the bathrooms need to be updated. The tubs are terrible, the water was not very hot, and water leaked on the floor no matter what we did to prevent it. Though we were grateful for the free breakfast, it was the same each day. There was no real variety. No creamer for the coffee.
- 3/5
Our room was ok. There was a kick plate near the sick that was on the floor. They had tape on it,must have fallen down. Big gap under door. And a barking dog(i love dogs) old hotel they painted to cover up things (different colors) not a big deal just being honest.
- 5/5
Nice location
- 5/5
Amazing the only place I stay in Charleston
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Great stay. Staff were friendly. Great location. Easy access. Full hot breakfast. Easy checkin.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing was that one bedroom didn’t get warm with the heat on and the tv didn’t connect in the other. It was quiet and we slept well.
- 4/5
After reading some of the reviews I was skeptical about staying , but I had a great experience. The hotel was clean, friendly staff, spacious. The only problem I encountered was issues with the televisions blacking out other than that I had a great experience. The bad reviews were misleading. I would stay at this property again.
- 2/5
I thought the outside look great. I arrived at night time and the receptionist at the front desk was great. Everything was great up until this guy interrupted our conversation very rudely. I thought he actually worked at the hotel but apparently he was somebody that was banned from the property. I do believe they should have security at night. He was rude and very verbally aggressive towards us. I went my room and I came back downstairs and he was gone. The thermostat didn't work in my room and the water wasn't hot. I was moved to another room. In that room the sink didn't drain so I had to call maintenance for that. Breakfast was very subpar but this could be because I actually cook and everything seemed pre-packaged. I tried to do an early checkout but I was unable to do so but I left anyway.
- 5/5
The staff there was amazing 👏
- 5/5
I love the place, no complains at all!
- 5/5
The bed was very comfortable!

Less than a 10 minutes drive from Historic Downtown. Seems like plenty of parking. I came in about 1:30 am New Year's Morning and found a park... They did charge my card $60 when I checked in. I have yet to ask them what it was for... The front desk clerk didn't tell me initially. I thought she was just swiping the card to have it on hold. So I assumed that the charge was a hold charge, for incidentals, that would be released back to my account once I check out... But it might very well be for parking- $20/ day..??)... So don't forget to expect and ask about that. Nonetheless 👍👍👍 Welcome to Charleston! INjoy! Oh! I'm right by the elevator; but that's not a problem. It hasn't gotten loud. And! I'm on the third floor; but I originally booked a "balcony" room. Well, by the time I checked in (7 or so p.m.), the only balcony room left was on the first floor, room 126. It has a balcony, yes. But the balcony is facing the air conditioning units, which.. what..? The only person I can see appreciating that is someone who might want to smoke right from there room door. But, you're not allowed to do that.. so I don't know how and why anyone would be okay with that.. But to each his own.

The hotel is very clean and smelled fabulous when you walk in the door! Our room is very quiet and comfortable.

It was so amazing staying here!! Everyone was so nice and when we asked for more towels we were brought towels with like 30 seconds!! It was amazing and we will stay here again !!!
- 5/5
Perfect for my children and I! The breakfast selection was wonderful, the staff were kind.
- 4/5
Loved the suite room. Not as modern as I had hoped and smelt a bit musty when we arrived (probably the older carpet) but clean and quiet.
- 5/5
Liked the convenience of a kitchenette in the room.
- 5/5
Great staff. Perfect location.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Forgot her name unfortunately plz check and who was on duty and thank her …how wonderful she was ! Funny patient engaging and professional with attention to the particular guest needs created by an over full parking lot .. honestly I travel internationally for work stay at upscale properties mainly and haven’t had such a gracious reception this year ! That young lady should be tracked for your companies future .. you can’t teach that …
- 4/5
My family went to Charleston to drop our son off at Charleston Southern University. It was an overall pleasant stay.
- 4/5
The friendliness of the staff was welcome, especially the manager, Kim.
- 5/5
Staff was welcoming and made the stay so relaxing!
- 4/5
Regular coffee at breakfast is very weak.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. What was lacking was the business center. Couldn't sit down to use the computer.
- 3/5
Property is in need of an update. Need a ramp on back where most everyone parks and loads/unloads. Sink faucet was loose and hard to turn off, bathroom door hard to shut, TV in room wouldn't work, had to change rooms. Staff was friendly and breakfast was pretty good. The room we were in was quiet. Location is great.
- 2/5
Soap, lotion, etc., had to request towels twice, coffee, and the standards with Marriott did not measure up from our many years of experience with the company. Not the best location either. We will not return.
- 4/5
Very nice and easy check in. Good area and not to much traffic. Close to the city, just avoid rush hour times as it is hard to get out on to the major roads
- 5/5
Great place! Clean and updated
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay! Will stay again
- 5/5
The only challenge I experienced was parking. Everything else was exceptional.
- 2/5
Checked in really late and the room smells bad. Specially the bathroom, the housekeeper left the dirty towels from the guest before us and her cleaning stuff is still in the bathroom. Toilet is dirty and smells like someone throw up in the toilet. my family was tired and didn’t want to change rooms anymore so I ended up cleaning the toilet making sure that the smell was gone. Disappointing stay as a Marriot bonvoy member.
