Amazing location and staff was wonderful.

Beautiful property in the heart of Charleston and hats off to Toby and Bob and of course the whole staff for making our stay unforgettable.

It was not as good as it used to be. The Bedroom was not as nice as we expected. Bed sheets were not as nice and torn as well. Furniture was old and beat up. The carpet was also very worn out.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and welcoming, even helping with reservations

Can’t beat the location. The staff were all friendly and happy to help. Turn-down service and chocolates in your room every night. Great breakfast, wine and cheese in the afternoon, and milk and cookies every night. The patio and lobby were beautiful and a great place to hang out in between activities.

Amazing experience at The French Quarter Inn. Service is exceptional. Tons of amenities. We really enjoyed how they go out of their way to ensure a good nights rest. Bedside chocolate with valerian and ordering off the pillow menu is a must.

What a fantastic hotel right in the heart of Charleston.

Attractive lobby and plantings out on the patio as well as 1st floor (lobby) decor, restrooms, etc. Especially nice complimentary wine hour with bites.

The staff was wonderful, attentive and informative. Special shout out to Bob for offering tips on things to do in the area. The French Quarter Inn is definitely worth the stay!!!

A couple of notes: (1) bed is super hard, and typically my husband and I like hard mattresses (2) It would be nice if they had moved their cheese and wine reception to 3pm. Right now it's at 5:30pm, which is typical dinner time

Attentive staff, loved all the free food they offered, only negative was the moldy smelling shower curtain that they promptly changed out when I requested them too. My advice is to ask for a room with a standing shower not a tub. I hate shower curtains with a passion because they are impossible to keep clean.

Nice hotel. Staff was very friendly at check in. We received a champagne welcome and enjoyed the daily wine and cheese reception and evening cookies. Hotel was a good location for us. The beds were comfortable, there was a pillow menu and the bathroom was huge; however the room was a little dark. Overall, would stay here again!

The French Quarter was a beautiful hotel with a great complimentary breakfast! The cookies and milk in the evening were an added anticipated benefit. The best part was it's location to shopping, restaurants and the carriage ride. All were in walking distance of 1, 2, or 3 blocks! I have found my Happy Place!

Room check in was delayed and far too late in the day!

The property was in a great location. Within walking distance to everything. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Would highly recommend. Breakfast was amazing.

The Good: ‘Bob’ the bartender at happy hour, great guy! The So-So: Did not have a restaurant. Breakfast dining, meh. Poor selection the food mediocre at best. The Bad: Check-in was at 4 PM. We arrived at 3:20 PM. Woman with gray hair and glasses (Carolina?) took my ID card (twice) , phone number and email. “We will call you when your room is ready”. Between 3:30 PM and 4 PM, several other Guests arrived , checked -in, went to the room. 4 PM for us, nothing. No phone call, no nothing. We were literally sitting right across from the reception. My wife went up to ask on a room and was told to wait. There first and last to check in. 2nd person checking us in, again had to present my ID because Carolina did log us in properly. 3 times I had to show my ID card. Was it because we were a black couple? Dunno. Horrible check-in. The Bad: Poor attention to detail. Our booking had two adults , we arrive to our room and there’s only one robe. Bed lamp some kind of stain, table chair some kind of stain. For this price point of hotel, cleanliness and attention to detail should be paramount. It wasn’t. Will we stay here again? Probably not. For this price point we can find a better deal with a better breakfast, attention to detail, and we don’t get ignored on check-in just sitting there waiting for our room to be ready while other guests go ahead of us despite the fact we were there first.

This lovely property, set in a perfect location for exploring Charleston, is my favorite of the many hotels I've visited. The staff is very eager to give the best service, the room was lovely, there were luxurious touches everywhere, and the included amenities like champagne upon arrival, room service breakfast, afternoon appetizers and evening milk and cookies were wonderful additions. Add to that a comfortable bed and a pillow menu. Expensive, but worth every penny.

I can’t say enough great things about The French Quarter Inn. The best service ever! Staff took care of all our needs like sending a text daily to see how things were going. Anything that we asked they graciously provided. The lady who cleaned our room was Graciela. She was friendly and did a great job taking care of us. She spoke very highly of the hotel and how the hotel took great care of them so that we as guest could also be taken cared of. It was awesome. Luxury hotel care with true Southern hospitality.

Very clean hotel with attentive staff in a perfect location. Kimberly, at the front desk, was very helpful though she could use the help of a concierge. Not an easy task to wear both hats but she balanced both. Izzy was lots of fun at the bar. I had a small issue and Kristen and the rest of the staff more than made up for it. My only negative is that the shade in my room really needed replacing as it was held together with large safety pins, and kind of an eyesore. Would definitely return.

I’ve been coming to this hotel for over 30 years. It’s awesome. Located in the heart of the French Quarter part of Charleston. You can walk everywhere. The staff are amazing. This hotel offers more amenities than most others. Best place to stay in Charleston

Our experience at French Quarter Inn was fabulous!! We had two spacious rooms that were very clean and were serviced twice a day. We were amazed by the amenities. The continental breakfast and nightly wine and cheese were included. The staff hospitality was the best part. The front desk ladies greeted us with warm welcomes and glasses of champagne. Please don’t change a thing at French Quarter Inn because we can’t wait to come back!

Perfect location for Charleston. It was on a side street in the heart of the French Quarter. The staff was amazing and consistently went out of there way. Breakfast, happy hour and cookies at night are all included in the price. We stayed as a family of 4 and will definitely be coming back.

Perfect location, walking distance to all the sites, shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the special amenities like the free bike rentals, wine & cheese hour, milk and cookies and board games. The staff was extremely hospitable and take pride in the extra touches. Bob especially went above and beyond to make our stay extra special!

The French Quarter Inn gets it right. From the ready valet, to the seamless check-in & champagne welcome, to the well-appointed rooms and complimentary breakfast ( room service-style if you choose), they have perfected the details of your stay. Bob and the front desk staff were awesomely friendly and informative. Our room and the hotel at-large were extremely clean and in a great location for exploring the Charleston City Market and near-by shops and restaurants. The wine & cheese reception and nightcap cookies and milk were a nice touch as well. The hotel even gifts a deluxe sample of their signature fragrance. The bed was very comfortable, air conditioning was quiet and well-performing...after a few hours of sightseeing, it was very nice to come back to our cool room and see that turndown service had been performed for us, complete with chocolates. I'll definitely stay again when visiting Charleston. Would be nice to have another parking option besides valet, but that's not a dealbreaker.

Had the pleasure of staying at the French Quarter Inn recently. The Inn goes above and beyond making its guests comfortable. The complementary breakfast is a full meal. Cookies in the evening and a happy hour each evening featuring free wine and beer. The beds are super comfortable and there is a pillow menu for you to choose the firmness of your pillow. Location is directly across from the market and there are so many restaurants near you. Best place to stay in Charleston!

DO NOT HESITATE TO STAY HERE! This was a fabulous place to stay. Friendly and professional staff, excellent clean room, beautiful terrace space and comfy beds. Charcuterie and wine each evening followed by port and cookes. We felt very taken care of and very much enjoyed our stay.

My husband had food poisoning and had to wait at the airport for three hours! When I arrived I told the front desk person I had made previous arrangements and she again blamed it on booking through a third party. I showed her the text where I was assured my husband’s name was on the reservation (and it was not sent through a third party). She apologized, but was rather flippant with a fake smile pasted on her face. It is a lovely inn, but I don’t stay in establishments where the front desk associates have a superior attitude with their guests.

Staff was great. Breakfast wasn’t as wonderful as years before. I had a random charge of $394 at check out that nobody can explain. This is in addition to the $154 incidental charge that I did approve. It was would a 4 star without the $394 charge and if the charge doesn’t drop off, it would become a 2 star. I’ve since had to close out my check card because staff isn’t able to confirm what the charges are for and I’m not comfortable waiting to see if it drops since this charge wasn’t approved or able to be explained. It’s fine if you need extra holds, but since nobody is able to explain what it’s for, I am now having to deal with the liability. Kinda un-does the relaxation of a trip.

We enjoyed the hotel very much! The location is ideal. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The staff is very attentive to detail. We loved the pre-visit email, the welcome and goodbye notes, the signature room fragrance to take home, the wine and cheese party and the late night port. We met interesting people/guests in the bar, and the every member of the team that works there is polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. We will return!

Excellent hotel! Very well maintained and serviced with all the "little things" that used to be standard at a premier property. Comp water, turn down chocolates, weather report, paper and pens at the writing desk and the room was completely serviced each day. The room was large and well appointed. The concierge/desk was very friendly and helpful and the hotel generally had a peaceful elegant air about it. There was a complimentary wine and cheese hour each evening and milk and cookies before bedtime. The location is perfect for exploring the city and adjacent to some fantastic restaurants.

This is a lovely hotel. It has a very cozy feel. From the curbside to the frontdesk all staff were very pleasant and welcoming. This was my second stay here and I will definitely be back. If you enjoy a boutique hotel that pays close attention to little details this is the place for you.

Healthy but not enough vegan healthy choices

Our room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully appointed. The location in the Historic District couldn’t be better — we could walk everywhere: the waterfront, art galleries, great restaurants, and all the hidden cobblestone alleys that make Charleston so special. Every staff member we met was warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The breakfast and evening wine and cheese reception were both lovely bonuses that made us feel more like guests in someone’s elegant home than in a hotel. We will definitely be back on future trips to Charleston.

Our room was perfect with a balcony looking over the market. The property was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful! The room service breakfast included with our stay was delicious, cheese and wine hour was amazing, as well!

Its a good hotel only with 250 to max 300$ inclusive of all taxes amd fees. Upward of that really not worth. Rooms are small for the price and nothing much to do or see in the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and conveniently located to many restaurants and shopping. The hotel staff were all excellent and the amenities (wine and cheese, breakfast, and milk and cookies) were such nice extras. Will definitely stay here again.

We had such a wonderful time, we plan on visiting again. There was not one staff person who did not greet us and ask if we needed anything. The location is great. The hotel is around the corner from the City Market, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. It is also a short walk to the riverfront. My suggestion-bring comfortable shoes.

I will never book this hotel again, nor will I ever use Expedia again! I was charged double for 2 night stay and charged $500 for my service dog... Expedia said that could help if I paid additional $200...

Everyone on the staff had a positive attitude, very helpful and wanted to make your stay as comfortable as they could. A special shout out to Grizella, thank you for keeping our room fresh all day long.

The location of this hotel is amazing! Just steps from the City Market as well as plenty of restaurants & shops. We even walked to the aquarium which is where we did an excursion to Fort Sumpter! Although this is an upscale hotel, my kids never felt out of place or unwanted.They loved the mini candy bar in the lobby & the nightly milk & cookies were a hit with all of us! The service was also wonderful. I accidently left the Do Not Disturb sign on our door one day, and I received a text asking if I would like our room serviced. So many hotels no longer even provide daily service, so the fact that they reached out to me to ask, was above & beyond in by book. I've never stayed anywhere that had a pillow menu! I have to say this was one of my favorite features! We tried 3 different types of pillows that were delivered to our room within minutes of us requesting them. I enjoyed the buckwheat pillow so much that I checked the brand they used & ordered one to have at home! We chose to have breakfast brought to our room each morning & not only was our order correct each day, but it was always delivered promptly at the time we had rerequested. The nightly turn down service (complete with a hand written note card with the following days' weather forecast) was just another example of the extraordinary service provided. We can't wait to return!!

Beautiful hotel. The interior was gorgeous. The terrace was not very private so might not be worth the extra money. Location was very walkable and loved the extras including a choice of pillows. I forgot how nice the buckwheat pillows are - inspired me to order one for home. Their signature scent is lovely - they should think about selling the oil for diffusers.

I would stay here again in a heart beat. This was an amazing stay in an amazing city.

Our room was quiet and comfortable, the central location is great for getting to restaurants, galleries, and shops, and the staff is really top notch. Having ice water, lemonade, and iced tea available in the lobby all day was a life saver in the August Charleston heat! I’m just sorry it was too hot to borrow their free bicycles.

Our recent 2 night stay was a delight. Large, family suite catered to our every need. Friendly, attentive staff and nice 'unique' touches made this a great choice for our family break in Charleston. The beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows were some of the best I've ever had in a hotel. I will be sure to recommend this hotel to anyone I know visiting the city.

Loved everything about our stay! The staff was friendly and helpful, property was very clean and in walking distance to so many places of interest! We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast, wine & cheese offerings and cookies & milk! Would definitely recommend!

Amazing room and amenities! The charcuterie hour/free breakfast and cookies were such a nice treat! Rooms and balcony was huge! No complaints and can’t wait to come back.

Everything was just wonderful

Check in was so easy. Customer service was excellent- anything we needed. We truly enjoyed our stay there. Extra touches- handwritten welcome note, signature room scent, pillow menu, and complimentary in room breakfast. 10/10

Wow, everyone from front desk to valet to room cleaning were friendly and helpful. Lots of smiles and attention to their visitors. The nicest hotel I have stayed in in years.

Beautiful property! Close to everything. Staff was amazing!

Manager helped us out immediately with some maintenance issue and we are grateful for his quick response. Front desk was very informative. Only complaint would be bartender was split between another bar so we would have to ask front desk to call them over everyday of our stay. But bartenders where Great at making drinks when onsite

This property was excellent and we will’s definitely stay here again. All of the food and beverage options were amazing and the free breakfast in the morning was convenient and good quality food. Location was perfect and close to all the restaurants and shopping as well as the tourist spots and airport.

All of the staff were attentive, professional and personable. The amenities were very nice. Breakfast, cheese and wine, and night time cookies and milk were all delicious, nicely displayed, and well attended. Housekeeping was amazing. Nightly turn down service was the icing on the cake. It felt like such a nice place without feeling stuffy. The location could not be beat. This is one of the top accommodations I have ever enjoyed.

One of the best hotels I have had the pleasure of staying at. This place checks all the boxes. From the complementary champagne at check in to all the cookie socials. The property is extremely clean and quiet. Its charm is second to none and the staff truly go the extra mile to make their guests feel special. 10/10 would stay and recommend this place for couples in downtown Charleston. The only thing I would say is leave the littles at home because there isn’t a ton for kids under 10, and that’s the entire city.

The afternoon wine and cheese was something we enjoyed very much as well my husband liked the milk & cookie event in the later evening.

Everything is excellent. The receptions in the afternoon & at night are great. I had the best sugar cookie ever. The only problem is filling out this survey which is not very accessible for someone who is using screen reader to fill out the survey.

It was amazing. Worth every dollar spent. Excellent service. Will definitely going back again next summer. Loved Charleston as well.

My only disappointment was that the had to do pipe repairs while we were there and had no water from 10 pm to 6 am. We certainly understood that these things happen and the staff was very accommodating. However, considering the higher rate this hotel charges, i think it would have been good business to offer a small accommodation (whether it be money off or a discount on a future stay). The hotel goes above and beyond on all areas and something extra like this would have followed suit. Overall it was a fabulous experience!

We had an excellent stay at French Quarter Inn! Beautiful hotel, with a lot of nice added touches such as the fabulous breakfast and wine and cheese/wine offered every day. The staff were all friendly and attentive to any need we had. The hotel is in a great location, most every tourist thing we did was in walking distance as were all of the wonderful restaurants. We highly recommend French Quarter Inn!

We loved the property. There were patios everywhere to enjoy outside.The staff were very friendly and offered great service from the valets to the hospitality staff, to the cooks and the cleaning crew. The room was great and the pillow bar is top notch! We even loved the toiletries provided. And the breakfast and other treats were yummy! If recommend this place to anyone.

This was the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. Price includes complimentary breakfast room service and/or large breakfast buffet which can be eaten in an absolutely lovely courtyard with lemon trees and a water fountain. The food is delicious! There is also a wonderful wine and cheese spread every night from 530-630 and warm cookies and milk at 830pm! The service was wonderful and the hotel is walking distance from many things to do and restaurants to visit! Highly recommend!

Fantastic

The staff was the best part about my stay. Quite honestly, I was somewhat disappointed in the cleanliness of my room. The door my room had dirt marks all over it near where the key card is used. The walls in the room had some dirt on them as well. The bathroom was very clean, however. The beds were amazing! I loved the quietness of the room. The hotel does offer a lot of options such as the champagne on arrival and the wine in the afternoons and the cookies at night, but it would be nice to have a restaurant on site for other options if you don’t want to go out to eat. Very pleasant experience other than the few things mentioned. I would stay there again based on the staff as well as the location and the wonderful bed.

I was excited to arrive after having spent so much time deliberating over which hotel would be the most welcoming and memorable. The valet wasn’t around, wasn’t welcoming, had to go find a luggage cart and by then, I already unloaded my heavy luggage. Disappointed.

They had a very nice breakfast every morning with a lot of good options. We enjoyed complimentary wine and cheese every evening for happy hour and their cookies and brownies at night were delicious! The welcoming champagne was a very nice touch. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

The property is well maintained and beautiful. Everything is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The suite was spacious and beautiful as well. The hotel is in the perfect location and we walked to every meal and to King street for shopping as well. We enjoyed daily breakfast and nightly milk and cookies. Perfect stay!

We loved our stay here! The included breakfast, afternoon wine and cheese, and bedtime cookies were a great addition to our trip. Our 5 yr old got stung by a bee while eating breakfast outside and one employee grabbed her ice and brought her back later some candy and treats which was so kind!

Beautiful, large room that comfortably fit a family of five with a balcony overlooking the market square. Great service. Loved all the complementary items (breakfast, wine, cheese & charcuterie, all day candy, tea, coffee & fruit, cookies, milk & port at night). Great to be in the heart of the French Quarter for first time visitor yet the hotel still felt safe and quiet.

The property exudes old charm with gracious service at the front desk to the house keeping. We loved our stay and will go back.

Our stay was fabulous! The room we had was so comfortable and luxurious. It was tastefully decorated with warm and peaceful tones and the bathroom had the prettiest marble tiles in a striking pattern. We slept soundly; the sheets felt so good and it was quiet. Every staff member was friendly and engaging. The breakfast was amazing and so was happy hour. We loved the layout of the hotel and its unique architectural details. The location is perfect too for historic and scenic walks. We will return!

Loved this hotel so much while my 2 sisters and I visited Charleston. Breakfast was fabulous brought to our room each morning. Afternoon wine and cheese was unexpected but superb. Valet was attentive and quick and very walkable to most things we were interested in seeing.

We were well taken care of from check in to check out. The champagne on check in was a lovely way to start our stay. Also, from turn down service to breakfast, everything was well thought of and executed. The location is fantastic as everything felt walkable. Thank you for the lovely stay.

The hotel is wonderful. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. The wine, cheese and cookies and milk is an awesome thing. Also breakfast delivered to your room is wonderful! Hotel was very clean. We used the bikes to get around the battery and the historical area. All the complimentary stuff offered is why I booked this hotel and we were not disappointed.
