Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with some guests praising the cleanliness, friendly staff, and lovely pool and grounds, while others express disappointment with the 1-star quality, confusion at check-in, dirty surroundings, and lack of breakfast. The location is generally seen as a pro, being in a nice quiet part of town and easy to get downtown.

The people working at this motel were very nice. It’s in serious need of maintenance and updates. It’s creekside but, the rooms have no windows facing in the creek direction. The bed was clean and comfortable but , my socks got very dirty walking on the floor. I had to ask for a hairdryer. I hope the owner at least does basic sprucing up. It has potential.
- 2/5
The place needs a paint job, pressure washing and a do over. Not a bad location but not a five star joint!!! Give it two stars.
- 4/5
The rooms were clean! The property was nice and had a great pool along with a small little dock.
- 4/5
The Creekside Inn is a no-frills hotel, but is clean and well run. It is an affordable option for staying in the Low Country and is accessible to many of Charleston's destinations.
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Very nice local hotel in a pretty setting. Pleasant helpful staff and a great price for the area. Will be returning.
- 5/5
This is a very cute, motel-style stay just a 10 minute drive from historic Charleston. We enjoyed the clean property, quaint accommodations, and complimentary breakfast. The check in staff were very friendly. Highly recommend for a safe, affordable, and enjoyable stay close to the action.
- 5/5
This is a hidden gym in the Charleston area! I'm so glad we found it. Staff was amazing. Good breakfast. Room was clean & beds were absolutely awesome. So comfy. The pool was perfect! So refreshing & cool. The dock was the cherry on top here. Relaxing & peaceful. Made for an excellent morning for sitting & enjoying a great cup of coffee before we left. 100% recommend & will stay here for sure if visiting again.

Not what I was expecting for the price. The bathroom smelled like mildew, and the water in the shower would switch from hot to hotter. Not impressed.
- 5/5
Outstanding stay and great staff. Enjoyed the stay.
- 4/5
Staff were extremely friendly. Room was clean and exactly what we needed. Breakfast was great as well. Super convenient to restaurants, but quiet even though it’s on a busy road.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 4/5
Tv service was poor. Older unit but convenient - traveled with pet - room clean and location convenient
- 4/5
Priced right ! Recently updated. Did not like the limited space for hang-up clothes
- 5/5
My room was comfortable, with crisp clean linens and a supportive bed. I slept great and enjoyed the mini fridge and microwave, as I stayed for 6 nights on a work trip. I enjoyed the breakfast that had many options and the coffee and tea were delicious. The office staff are friendly and helpful. Great stay! The noise from the street and people above me disturbed my sleep and rest at times but a white noise app helped and the air conditioner fan could be turned on to blow continuously.

Really enjoyed my stay! Pam has made a huge positive impact. Will come back.

Cockroach on our tub! I showed the manager both and her response was, she would be happy to make an adjustment to our bill (which she never did) and her comment about the cockroach was “hey, it’s the south”! “ there are cockroaches in the south”. Which is kind of cocky and presumptuous on her part! I live in Florida and I’ve never had any cockroaches on my home or tub!

Older run down motel.

It was good for the price that it was. It worked for our two night stay. Nothing great, but it was clean and quiet.

I am impressed with the cleanliness & remodeling. Staff was helpful & friendly. Nice location
- 4/5
Our stay was just fine. The bathroom was very clean and the room nice and comfortable. It would have been convenient to have a small table in the bathroom to hold clothing.

The rooms were basic but clean. TV had local channels, which some places do not have. The Pool and dock were nice, with a nice property layout. Great views next to the water. Hot water available in the lobby for tea. Our AC unit leaked on the floor, but other than that, everything was nice.

Electrical outlet did not work. Had to get an extension cord from front office to use for entire stay
- 4/5
Clean room and very nice layout for breakfast. Front desk very knowledgeable about history of hotel. We will stay here again and we’ve recommended it to others !
- 5/5
Very clean, friendly staff, convenient location.
- 5/5
Staff were so incredibly kind and helpful. This property has the most stunning view of the water.
- 5/5
The property is very charming. Nice stay and close to restaurants.
- 3/5
Good location. Friendly staff. However, TWICE, while trying to nap on successive afternoons, someone tried to enter my room, stopped only by the internal security latch. The first time it was maintenance checking out their lock system (uh, Knock please?) and the second time they actually gave my OCCUPIED ROOM to another tenant in spite of me occupying it! Had I NOT been there, a complete stranger would have had unfettered access to all of my things!
- 1/5
Property was disappointing from the start. It was not as nice as I expected. Kind of rundown old motel. Several outlets not working. Renovations poorly done. Pool was dirty and had bugs in it. Pool water caused my kids to get a rash which made us have to leave early. Saw little black bugs in the room too. Possibly fleas or termites. Wasps in the ceiling of the 2nd floor walkway. Overall terrible experience.
- 4/5
Very charming and good location for our needs. Needs some maintenance but the charm outweighs the concerns!
- 5/5
Great stay and amenities.
- 4/5
Easy access to Charleston. Friendly staff. Breakfast was exactly as promised. The creek is gorgeous!
- 5/5
Love the free parking, coffee, and breakfast along with the cute famhouse/beachy vibes and the overall atmosphere of this hotel. No, it's not perfect (walls are a little thin--wore earplugs and was good!) but it was worth it for the price and I would definitely stay again! Please was clean and water was hot, that's all I needed!
- 5/5
Lovely property with it's own private dock.
- 5/5
Convenient to gardens and downtown at reasonable rate. Simple, basic room but felt safe. Economical.
- 5/5
Convenient
- 5/5
Clean and safe
- 5/5
Good breakfast with a variety of items offered. Friendly, efficient desk staff. Clean, odor-free rooms that are spacious, good beds. In-room chair could be better. Plentiful parking. Many restaurants nearby. Easy to & from the airport.
- 2/5
Property needed repair. Stairs to second floor were difficult with luggage. Room wasn't clean, especially bathroom corners had packed in dirt.
- 4/5
Or the washing machine not working and requiring a credit card Or the breakfast that had pork in it that I couldn't eat. Or these fake alarm calls. Etc.
- 4/5

- 5/5
All good things
- 4/5
The staff was very froendly and kept the breakfast items replenished and fresh. We would stay there again!
- 4/5
The motel was in a lovely setting, oak trees with Spanish moss, a nice dock on the creek. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Several good restaurants close by, Prime Steakhouse, a little pricy but very good. Ciao Bella Italian great. We enjoyed our stay here.
- 3/5
The room was clean, beds were comfortable. They state the Inn had been refurbished, they need to finish the job. The Air Conditioner cover was loose, the bathroom door needs to be painted. We had to have the latch on the door fixed. Our room cards kept deactivating.
- 5/5
It was great
- 3/5
The room was clean and had been revamped "recently". Bed was comfortable. Not a good area of town. Staff and frequent visitor ignored us to discuss drinking and getting stoned and other party activities. No ID required at check in. I would not stay here again.
- 1/5
Our room had filthy baseboards floors, and carpet. The breakfast was free but I didn't eat there. We checked in in the afternoon and the milk was still out in a pitcher on the counter. If I could have received a refund, I would have left the hotel to find another. The sheets were clean. I can't believe this hotel was given a 5 -star rating on Hotels.com
- 3/5
Keys were not working to get in our rooms. Would like in room coffee.
- 5/5
Recommend getting room as far from road as possible. Traffic was loud.
- 5/5
10/10
- 5/5
Clean room and nice front desk
- 5/5
Breakfast was good. Some pastries and bagels. Also had eggs with sausage and grits.
- 5/5
My daughter and I were here for a quick overnight. The beds were clean, comfortable and pillows were perfect. The bathroom had everything we needed to shower with all of the supplies. It’s an older motel but nice! We loved the outdoor space, with the creek, pool and dock!
- 3/5
They had no blow drier, staff said they would find one that is a floater and goes to rooms ppl need one, never got one!! We had to re-key the key everyday, sometimes twice , and no we didn’t get it near our phones, they told us that about 4 times!! Staff was friendly and room was clean except when we showered the tub backed up!!
- 4/5
Nice pool
- 5/5
Clean easy parking
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
We stayed a week and the breakfast was the same every day but good. The parking was good and felt safe. Staff was very friendly and helpful., And the rooms were very clean and nice with comfortable beds and pillows.

- 2/5
Great staff. Older property. Seems like they only half remodeled it and there are a lot more things to do. Comfortable and fairly quiet.
- 5/5
Staff was incredibly friendly. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Would absolutely return as a guest.
- 4/5
Clean room. Good breakfast. Convenient parking. Road noise.
- 4/5
Breakfast fair. Parking safe. Easy access and nice setting.
- 5/5
I'm giving 5 stars because of its peaceful nature surrounding & coziness environment.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Parking was great and staff was very friendly
- 5/5
Everything is nice. The boathouse by the swamp is my favorite.
- 1/5
The rooms were dirty and the sheets had not been changed. we got a new room which wasn't much better.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and looked like pictures
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
I loved the location and the hotel was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated the staff person that helped me with my bags up the stairs. They have still finishing upgrades, but what they have done is very much appreciated. I definitely recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and had all amenities we needed. Close to a lot as well.
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 4/5
The staff was amazing!
- 5/5
No issues. People are very nice here.
- 5/5
Clean room.
- 2/5
Not for luxury stay. Mostly workmen crew members and it was an outside room which I’m not a fan of. Floors hadn’t been cleaned and original room was not available. Television had very few working channels. Breakfast was slim and served in office space.
- 5/5
A great place to stay, just 20 minutes from the historic center by car. The hotel is next to a nice creek and has a beautiful view of the feet and Sunset. Our room faced the creek with was very nice. The breakfast is good and the room is clean, comfortable, and very nice and spacious. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. We definitely recommended it.
- 3/5
The bathroom was not clean. The room smelled. The door had a "trick" to open it which we weren't told when we checked in, so we dragged all of our stuff up to the room, couldn't open it, a guy who saw us stopped to help and he couldn't open it, so we had to bring all of our stuff back to go back to the lobby to get help. Breakfast was mediocre.
- 5/5
Great local family run hotel. Clean room and great breakfast
- 3/5
I didn't eat breakfast at this hotel.
- 5/5
Great cozy place by a small creek
- 4/5
The staff yelled at each other carrying on conversations early each morning. Water was sprayed on our window and the windows were cleaned early as we tried to sleep. The bathroom baseboards could use some work. The marsh was a nice bonus.
- 5/5
This hotel gets a perfect ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- 5/5
I love this place. There's a creek that is on the property that is so relaxing with beautiful trees throughout the parking and land that gives such a unique feeling, plenty of shade and flowers that run in front and around the building that's like no other place I've stayed. The staff is very professional and their hospitality gets a perfect 10. They have breakfast that was satisfying. As you can tell I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. No other places in the area could even be compared to this one. I just can't express the true feeling, so stay here next time in town . You will not be disappointed
- 5/5
Absolutely loved our stay at Charleston Creek Inn. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and bed super comfortable. Breakfast had all the basic things, eggs, bagels, etc. The coffee was great! Which is unusual for an average hotel, I don't normally drink it. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with the hotel, if we ever come back to Charleston I would stay here again without hesitation.
- 3/5
Too basic and old hotel for the price. It was clean and with comfortable bed, linens and towels were good. Sink faucet had not water preassure, merely a pencil thick stream, bath tub faucet was detached from wall. Window wooden curtains were new and modern but didn't stop exterior light from entering the room.
- 3/5
Beds and bathroom had just been cleaned. However, the room needed a deep clean. The baseboards were dirty. Bed is super soft. The power outlet over the nightstand was broken so I wasn’t able to plug in phone. I would not stay here again.
- 4/5
Room itself was clean. Bathroom ceiling was leaking. Staff was helpful. No room cleaning/ new towels etc. for a 3 night stay
- 5/5
I felt safe and the staff was friendly
- 4/5
The breakfast was made fresh and had a good selection and the place was pet friendly as advertised.
- 1/5
More concerning, the room door did not function properly. I had difficulty entering and exiting the room, and one of the locks was not working. I had to rely on staff assistance to access the room, which raised safety concerns. Additionally, there were several maintenance issues. The bathroom door was damaged with a large, poorly patched hole and visible grime, and when using the shower, water leaked behind the toilet. These conditions indicate that the room was not properly maintained. After my stay, I noticed a prior review referencing the same room (room 221) describing similar maintenance issues, which makes it concerning that these problems appear to be ongoing and were not addressed before my stay.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay
- 5/5
Clean room and great location ! Definitely would stay there again. The staff was amazing and they also had a little breakfast for everybody.
- 4/5
Upgraded us because our room was not ready and it was 6pm. Anyway they were very nice
- 5/5
Very cute safe clean quiet restful motel. We did not partake of the breakfast. We chose to go to a local favorite restaurant.
- 5/5
Absolutely. Choices ad coffee were great.
- 5/5
An excellent location, convenient access to all that Charleston has to offer! Good, clean, basic motel. Our room had both a mini fridge and a microwave which was handy. The property is beautifully landscape and set on the side of a good sized creek. We weren’t traveling with a pet, but it seemed like a beautiful place to stay with a dog.
- 5/5
Was excellent
- 2/5
Con’s - they have plantation shutters which are pretty but they let in a lot of light. There is also light outside the door so room bright for sleeping. No TV other than the LG channels which was basically Pluto Tv. I called the office who read off the internet how to search channels - but obviously with no cable or antenna we couldn’t watch much on TV. No ice machine found and no one working front desk when we were leaving to ask. Breakfast area seats just a few - so even though hotel said breakfast was excellent - if you can’t sit to eat it we didn’t try to stand. Coffee urns empty and no one at desk to ask about it. Not a problem for us, but if you are on 2nd floor, you are bring luggage up and down stairs.
- 5/5
I highly recommend this hotel. Everything about it I give an A+. The staff is friendly and very professional , also meet all my expectations. The view is relaxing. You are welcome to bring your furbabys along . They get my approval.
- 5/5
Nice clean quiet property, easy access.
- 3/5
Creekside was sufficient but we wouldn’t stay there again. Staff was friendly but the inn was very dirty and run down. Felt like it was a good location and had things around, but overall not the safest or cleanest.
- 5/5
Delightful staff, lovely grounds, and clean, updated rooms. Breakfast was great! Feels like staff care about this place!
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and functional.
- 5/5
Clean room, amazing front desk staff, good free morning breakfast
- 2/5
The door was really hard to open, took about 5 minutes every time. There weren't enough towels, and they didn't have any more clean ones, either day of our stay. We had to make do with 3 towels for 4 people for two days. The floors were sticky in the room also. And the beds were too hard! It did have a beautiful creek view though.
- 3/5
Room was clean. Looks recently updated. Mattress was too soft. We had a king bed and it pitched us both to the middle. The baseboards in the bathroom need to be replaced. They were completely separated from the wall. Otherwise it was a decent stay for 2 nights. Staff was friendly.
- 4/5
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. The motel information mentioned an off leash area, but there is not a fenced space for pets. I was told the property is private so a well controlled dog could be off leash, which was different from what I expected. The first floor does require using steps, something I had not anticipated. The room itself was clean and comfortable. I was in town for an event and mostly just slept there, so overall it met my needs. Carrying dog crates up the stairs was a bit of a challenge, but that was more on me than the property.
- 3/5
Was ok for a motel.
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and so friendly! The room was clean the bed was so comfortable and had a hugh TV!! Was a wonderful place to stay would highly recommend and I will be back on my next solo trip thank you so much for a great experience!!
- 5/5
Everything was satisfactory. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING
- 5/5
The location is just outside of the high traffic areas yet close enough to everything you want to see in Charleston.
- 5/5
Room was very clean. The staff was very helpful during check-in.
- 5/5
Very good except stairs, parking lot is small cars do not fit
- 4/5
Spacious, clean rooms. Very nice, personable staff. Only small down side- the breakfast was not that great. But with the price and location- you can treat yourself by going out.
- 5/5
Nice staff and clean room. Will be back in the future
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. Latrell checked us in and he was so friendly.
- 3/5
One word honesty I was lead to believe that my card would not be charged until my arrival and checked in not true there was a hold placed on my card 1st falsehood before arriving, 2nd falsehood 100.00 hold for the room it self,3rd falsehood no receipt at check out no final bill just told I'm good everything is good, for WHO not ME I don't have a finalized hotel receipt telling me exactly what I have been charged for this is totally unacceptable I will have to go to my financial institution as to what I am being charged for I will not use this service in the future nor will I recommend it as for the hotel itself the pictures are impressive but the actual location is nowhere near the pictures on the site such a shame it really is unfair to a consumer.
- 4/5
Bed was comfortable and water was hot. No towels or soap in the room. I had to go to front desk to get some.
- 5/5
The view is gorgeous. The room was very clean and organized! Just the bathtub wasn’t working, that was the only negative point.
- 5/5
Clean but basic. All worked well and comfortable beds!
- 3/5
We just needed a place to sleep and the bed was comfortable. The property and room are bit dated, worn. The breakfast was not good.
- 4/5
the shower had very low flow.
- 1/5
Very disappointed. Nothing like the pictures, my door safety locky was broken, room had a weird smell. If it wasn’t so late I would’ve went somewhere else
- 5/5
Great location but not for downtown, but there is regular shopping and eating all around. Property is clean and the creek side is beautiful! Most importantly, the staff is fabulous.
- 1/5
Dirty, late breakfast, additional door lock broken, noisy neighbors all thru the night along with the traffic.
- 5/5
The property, quiet, peaceful, and calm, good location, and I like the The area and the view across the marsh and the creek was excellent and most of all The Restaurant was very reachable in the surrounding area. The staff was excellent and good service.
- 3/5
Nothing special. Nothing horrible. Few stray hairs on bed and in tub. Good value.
- 2/5
The remote for the television did not work. Mold on inside of shower curtain. Breakfast was supposed to start at 6:30. Had to wake up desk person about breakfast and breakfast wasn’t served until after 7:15, so, we missed breakfast. Certainly, not an ideal stay.
- 1/5
When we reported this, staff responded dismissively, implied they had already done enough for us, and even suggested the condition could have been caused by us. That response was unacceptable. Due to safety and sanitation concerns and unprofessional handling of the situation, I cannot recommend this property.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and set-up well.
- 5/5
Comfortable room, nice view.
- 5/5
Best place we ever stayed!!
- 4/5
The room was very clean and the young woman at the front desk was very courteous and kind.
- 4/5
Cleaner and safer than most options in the Charleston area for the price. However, the eggs were cold and a couple lights in the room did not work.
- 5/5
Very clean.
- 4/5
The staff was super sweet, older hotel but clean and cute… with the best water pressure on earth.
- 3/5
Positives: The breakfast and friendly staff
- 5/5
Parking was great! Heat and air perfect!
- 5/5
Everything was professional
- 3/5
Staff was very kind. Bathrooms need updating. Our stay was ok
- 5/5
We stay at this property often. We go to Charleston to visit my daughter, grandchildren and son-in-law. We always stay here. The people that work here are amazing. They have a new manager who is super nice! This particular visit we had a family emergency. She was so accommodating and nice.. We always enjoy our stay here.
- 4/5
Staff was incredible and as far as small hotels go, this one was comfortable and relaxing
- 1/5
“Room” upon entry walked into a dirty room that had stained towels, dirty floor, dirty bathroom, etc. Thankfully I had brought my own towels to use during my stay. Office manager admitted the hotel towels were “stained” but clean but clearly if hotel towels are stained, they are most definitely not clean a she said they were. Their continental breakfast was the worst I have ever seen. They combine the most disgusting egg looking substance with sausage in a dirty crock pot along with other breakfast offerings I would not even feed my dog. On a positive note….they have a nice looking marsh with a deck and outdoor seating. There is also 2 filthy charcoal grills for guests to utilize.
- 4/5
Staff and amenities.
- 3/5
The hotel was recently updated however toilet FLUSHED very weak and the highway noise is LOUD!
- 5/5
Clean and cozy rooms. The creek was a great place to hangout and fish. Staff were efficient, welcoming and courteous.
- 5/5
Everyone was friendly..I think you charge more than everyone for pets $30 per nightlast time I checked..I paid it anyway to minimize aggravation..also not handicap friendly for room access and no handicap help in the room had to roll my wife across the entire length of the facility..from front desk to my room 122
- 3/5
The lady at check was super friendly. The guy training her...not so much. No coffee or water in room. Ceiling light fixture missing (exposed wires), lamp on desk broken. Toilet seat loose.Floors were super cold...no carpet.
- 1/5
Limpa, luz do banheiro não funciona
- 5/5
Great staff. Nice location
- 4/5
Yes to both. It did not have a closet to hang your clothes up just some hooks on the wall other than that it was okay
- 4/5
Rooms are clean. Staff is nice. No closet to hang clothes.
- 5/5
The service was great, clean room, good air conditioning and safe parking.
- 4/5
Room 126, 1 night. POSITIVES: comfortable bed, good breakfast in lobby, friendly front desk, lovely marsh setting with creek access (canoe or kayak) adjacent to inn. NEGATIVES: very heavy traffic on Highway 17 in front of inn, several (11) steps to climb for closest access to room 126, daily pet charge of 50 bucks (!) in addition to the “pet-friendly” room rate, and lastly, seeing several overnight guests outside their rooms in the evening who had me thinking perhaps mace should be on my key ring. So, def not a 5-star stay, but if my concern about the excessive pet fee for my small dog had been taken seriously by the person who checked me in, I could have given a higher rating.
- 1/5
On the third night when getting the copies made the front desk gave us a master key that would open any door in the hotel. We barricaded our room and checked out the next morning days early. This hotel has a ton of charm and potential but I understand from conversation with staff they are under new MGMT and the new leaders clearly are out of their depth.
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay. Room was quiet and in a beautiful setting. I needed to relax it was perfect. staff was extremely nice.
- 2/5
Floors in room could have been cleaner. Check in took entirely too long. Checking out there was nobody working the desk.
- 3/5
Room was OK
- 3/5
Staff were friendly,
- 5/5
The room was clean and quiet
- 5/5
The hotel was comfortable... staff was helpful ... breakfast was good ... best thing was a really good price to be so close to downtown Charleston!
- 5/5
Yes, the room war really clean and the staff were very nice and friendly
- 5/5
Pleasant motel, decent area. Would stay again. Very clean.
- 5/5
The check-in process was quick and pleasant. Gentleman gave us many suggestions on places to eat and things to do. Room was clean and the location was quiet despite being on a busy road
- 5/5
Yeah the parking was well accomodating as well as acceptable encouragement for meeting newer comrade. The staff were delightful in their accommodations so it made the quick stay quite enjoyable.
- 5/5
Staff very helpful
- 4/5
Room was clean and spacious. Heating/AC worked very well. The best TV channel selection of any hotel that I have stayed at to date.
- 5/5
Very pet friendly! Nice outdoor area and easy parking.
- 4/5
Front desk clerk was very friendly. The room was clean but the beds weren't very comfortable. Nice view of the creek and pool.
- 3/5
Room was clean but had issues. Remote would not work and when I tried to shower the handle blew off the shower and was blowing water everywhere. Could not take a shower. Was glad I wasn’t in the shower or it would have hit me. Waiting on a response from the manager as I checked out on Saturday and she was not available.

Room smelled like a wet dog. There was pet hair on the floor. No remote control for the TV. The AC worked and there was hot water. Room service staff just burst into our room in the morning around 9:30am. Towels were stained and worn. Its a place that is rough around the edges but an effort is being made to improve it.
- 5/5
Really nice staff and room is very spacious
- 3/5
The room could have been more cleaner and the pillows were too slf. The mattress were terrible they need to be changed or turned over.
- 1/5
Decent high priced
- 1/5
Beautiful outside. The room and stay was absolutely disgusting. There was some ultra shady dealings going on of all kinds! I will never stay here again ever
- 5/5
Cute, clean motel with a dock overlooking marsh area. Close & convenient to stores & restaurants. Definitely will stay again.
- 5/5
Room and motel was very clean, new everything in the room including smart TV. VERY comfortable!
- 4/5
The only problem was internet service was hit or miss for TV watching
- 5/5
Great place!!
- 5/5
Awesome place
- 4/5
Honestly, I thought it would be a little better,
- 2/5
The rooms were far from clean and the air conditioning unit was pulling off the wall to the outside.
- 5/5
Loved the location of this hotel ! Clean and comfortable. It is close to the busy highway so you will hear the cars all night long but it didn’t bother me.
- 3/5
It was nice, staff was great, quiet and peaceful. There was unfortunately a good amount of mold on the ceiling of our room.
- 1/5
They really make you think this is going to be such a great stay at a boutique hotel and advertise that a popular tv show was shot here. Room was filthy. Weird stains on walls. The floors had dirt all over them, the small amount of carpet under the beds didn’t looked like it had been vacuumed in months. Candy, an AirPod, crumbs and dirt were all under the bed. There was no toilet paper holder - so you have to leave on the back of the toilet. AC unit has a towel under it because it leaks. The ceiling leaks in the bathroom. There are no curtains on the windows so the hall light shines in all night. The door doesn’t have a deadbolt, only the top catch latch and on more than one occasion, friends of my daughter just pushed the door and walked right in because the door didn’t lock on its own (a key should be necessary to open). Extremely unsafe! Dogs barked all night. Woke up to same dog dropping his ball on repeated above us at 6am. Requested compensation for a horrendous stay and was told it was denied by the hotel. Don’t stay here.

Staff
- 3/5
The staff was lovely but the rooms were not the cleanest, the beds and bedding were not the best and biggest issue was the key card readers on the door. Some were out of batteries and it to SO many tries to get them to work. Views were exceptional
- 1/5
The online pictures are deceiving. This motel is dirty, smelly, and in need of repair. I do not recommend.
- 2/5
The shower did not work in in the room assigned at check in. The moved me and then room #2 was average with dirty room floors. Turned white socks (bottom) black. Like they did not even mop.
- 2/5
Check in was easy and front desk person helpful however the room smelled so badly of strong cleaning solution. Gave me a headache, we left after one hour being there with the door open for air. Got a refund. And this loud next to a busy road.
- 5/5
Very cute property, very busy at night and in mornings. Staff is really nice and helpful.
- 3/5
I have stayed here before and was impressed. However, this time was different. A lot of things in my room were broken, for example, the door lock. It was not as clean as in the past. I was grateful they let me have my dog, but there was unpicked up dog poop all over the grounds. The cable was out. I was up most nights due to someone outside screaming until 6am. Despite having a do not disturb sign on my door, every morning someone knocked on the door to ask if I was leaving. Overall, it was an exhausting experience.
- 1/5
I did not stay. I checked in and didn’t like the condition of the property or my room. I checked out the same evening
- 1/5
I did not stay. I checked in and didn’t like the condition of the property or my room. I checked out the same evening
- 2/5
We did not get on well with this property. First room we were given was very damp so we requested another. The second seemed OK but the sheets were strange, seemed clammy somehow. We asked for a couple of thing's at breakfast which they were unable to provide. Location of the property was good. Nowhere in the rooms to even hang clothes.
- 3/5
Motel not a hotel . Grounds are dirty , rooms were updated and are ok . Close to a busy road so it’s noisey, you can’t walk the grounds by the creek,
- 5/5
I live this place
- 3/5
furniture was minimal at best. For a room with 2 queen size beds and multiple night stays only 2 towels, 2 washcloths and 2 hand towels were simply not enough. The bath rug was in tatters-totally unusable. New tv, new mattresses and new bathroom fixtures were nice. The mattress was really good. The signs for watching out for alligators and snakes were a real eye opener.
- 2/5
There were some cockroaches running in the room and AC was leaking badly
- 4/5
This is an older property but the rooms are clean and the staff is great. Beautiful Creekside view. Quiet and safe.
- 4/5
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms and showers could use some updating but all in all it was good.
- 1/5
Bedroom area was clean; bathroom corner had piles of hair, bathroom smelled like urine; shower curtain was dirty, sour, and had black mold; no closet, no toiletry amenities. Two reading lights by bed and one floor lamp that had to be plugged in to turn it on. We concerned about our safety as there were many men loitering in front of apartment doors. The walkways to the room were covered with dropped seeds making it impossible to roll suitcases. We cut our stay to one night.
- 1/5
Nasty. AC leaked. Room didn’t feel or look clean at all.
- 5/5
It is nice and a good place to relax at night
- 4/5
The premises itself was attractive on the outside, and the room was generally clean...other than the VERY obvious black mold that was on half of our ceiling, mainly above the bed. It doesn't even appear like there was an attempt to clean it, which was disappointing. The beds were comfortable at the very least and the temperature inside was adequate for the time of year. (Heads up on the slightly loud air conditioning if white noise isn't your thing, I personally didn’t mind it though!) All in all, could've been great had there not been spores in our room, otherwise a pretty decent property!
- 1/5
No curtains, uses shutters, too bright sleeping, no hair blower, no room coffee maker, few lights inside, Had too few towels. no TV instructions way too complicated. Brfst was good except cold eggs.
- 4/5
You can tell the new management is trying very hard. They are working to make a dive motel into a nice creekside experience. Our only issue is the shower dripped in room 204 allllll day/night, and the internet was very slow.
- 5/5
I felt like I was home. Ill be back here
- 3/5
What I didn’t like: I was charged twice for room, took 3 tries to correct. The last person was extremely helpful though. Extra fees if you pay for your room with a credit card. Room smelled musty.
- 4/5
Improvements needed but still a nice little place to stay. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful! Door lock needed to be tightened. Housekeeping didn’t make the bed, or bring fresh towels. Not sure where ice machine was located. Pretty scene around the hotel front.
- 1/5
I would not stay again.
- 5/5
Great continental breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage bits, fresh waffles, and fruit. Whitney was wonderful at the front desk!
- 5/5
Real good deal
- 3/5
It was just not my type of establishment.
- 4/5
The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lackluster, and although we were there 5 days, never varied. The pool area was very unkept, and the pool was dirty, so we didn’t want to go in. The rooms were clean. Lovely, peaceful view from their dock.
- 1/5
It’s motel style. No room service even you have to request through front desk staff. AC water runs down on hallway for every room. Internet, TV access was down during my staying. Room accommodations are limited even motel advertised new remodel upgrade. Would not recommend for staying with room rate average $120/night at this location. Beside the motel locates next to beautiful creek but other than that nothing worth.
- 4/5
Bed was comfy. The air conditioning unit was extremely noisy. The property is nice but needs some maintenance. The people working there were very nice. The floor in the room needed better cleaning but everything else was clean. They had no internet I’d stay there again.
- 4/5
It was alright for the price. Gotta get rid of those half size pillows though!
- 5/5
Would definitely stay again
- 4/5
Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Building needs a face lift.
- 5/5
This is a great little hotel for the money. Very relaxing sitting on the dock watching people fish.
- 3/5
The location was great but the air conditioning in my room sounded like a big truck running very loud all night.
- 2/5
Breakfast rated 2 stars out of 5. It's what I'd expect at a one star or less hotel. Bathroom bottom molding with black mold. Bathroom Paint job incomplete & messy. Bed mattress not comfortable. Had group of guys linger outside my room from 5 pm to around 9 drinking & talking loud. Nothing done to protect paying persons peace.
- 5/5
If you're budget conscious, this motel has a great blend of amenities and cost. Within its class, it's probably the best of the cheaper options around Charleston. The dock is a nice touch as well.
- 5/5
This is the ONLY place we stay when we are in Charleston.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! We do Super Life Church events near this hotel. We’ve been staying there for our church for three years!
- 2/5
The property is not well kept up overall, but you get the idea they are trying.
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly and helpful
- 4/5
Good location and breakfast. Sink is a easy to clogged but no major issue
- 2/5
Nothing
- 1/5
it looked so different from the Photos. rooms so much smaller and well its not so clean. one of my sheets had blood (had to replace). one of my towels was not washed and had black stains like its been sitting on the floor (had to replace) fridge was not clean from previous customers and was so fishy and leaking. they did not replace, instead they just took it out. the receptionist on the other hand was exceptional. friendly and accommodating. coffee was in the lobby all day. bfast was messy tho and lobby is so small. if the restaurants were not close by we would of relocated.
- 3/5
The feont desk person was helpful and nice. We knew it was a budget stay and that was fine. We didnt expect the little shampoos to be half used. Not that we would have used them anyway, but it was a sign of other things not being done right. They clean what you can see as a guest.... or thats the plan. They don't clean well at all. The sheets were clean. The towels were well used, but clean. The breakfast was ok...ish. it could have been better.... could have been worse. The ice machine struggled and it took forever to fill a cup. The caulk job from the recent "spruce up" was not good or even close. But I wasn't sleeping on caulk so I could ignore it. The bottom of the toilet where it meets the floor, was filthy. We showered and slept.... no kids to crawl around and get dirty, so overall, we got what we paid for..... minus the shampoo.... that open/half empty bottle bothered me....
- 5/5
Nice stay nice pool
- 3/5
We stayed here for 4 nights & rented 3 rooms, but every single room seemed to have similar issues according to complaints from other family members.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
View from window and the Creekside view as well. Room was clean and couldn’t hear the traffic from the highway at all once the door was closed. We enjoyed our stay!!
- 4/5
Had a nice stay overall and will share with others!
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Very clean and thr employees are really nice. It can get noisy on thr weekends and parking is hard on those weekend nights, but it is a great hotel.
- 3/5
Not the cleanest and smelled like
- 3/5
The floor and areas around the toilet were dirty. Breakfast offerings were not very appealing.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay for a quick weekend trip. And not far from the city or the beach.
- 5/5
Great breakfast, clean
- 5/5
Older motel but it was clean and staff was very friendly. Motel is small and full but it was very quiet and respectful. Great for a couple or someone on business. Location is great too. Just close enough to get to everything but far enough to avoid major traffic. Definitely recommend and, like the name says, you are very much on the creek or marsh. Love the low country!
- 3/5
Pretty place…shower didn’t drain well. Not very many breakfast options.
- 4/5
Light Breakfast. For price would recommend. I would consider staying there again.
- 5/5
Frienfly staff. Promptly fixed the refrigerator issue I had. Cute snd clean pool. Breakfast pretty tasty. Room was clean.
- 3/5
Very good hotel for a single night stay if you’re just passing through or at the end of long road trip. The breakfast is fine, but not very vegetarian friendly. Small lobby though so you don’t have anywhere to sit. The bed was very subpar in terms of comfort but wasn’t the worse. The room was super clammy even with the ac running at 70, and the bathroom has super poor ventilation. Pretty sure there was mold on the ceiling. The property and dock/pool area is super clean and very cute though! Definitely a really scenic view. Overall below average in comfort but the staff and very friendly and the check in and out process is super quick and painless
- 1/5
The room was hot and humid when we arrived, so we lowered the thermostat to cool and dehumify the room. It took well over an hour. The pool was closed for whatever reason, but first thing in the morning it was reopened. The breakfast was typical for a low quality hotel. The walls are thin and you can hear alot of outside disturbance and noise from other rooms. Our neighbors recreational drugs could be smelled in our room. Would not recommend this hotel. Woupd have been better off under a bridge.
- 3/5
The grounds are nice. The price was more affordable than other places. There was no coffee maker in the room. Guests had to go to the office to get coffee.
- 3/5
Potential to be better. Room floor was very dirty. Pool area was dirty with broken and old furniture. Neighboring guest were smoking on the porch and were loud all night.
- 4/5
Fishing for crabs & swimming in the pool
- 5/5
This is the only place we stay in Charleston. We have to go to MUSC frequently. The staff here are friendly, knowledgeable and go above and beyond to make your stay special. Love, love, love it!
- 4/5
It is a beautiful property, with a pool, little dock and fishing. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. It's an older place but I like it!
- 2/5
The rating Expedia has for this property dies not equate to its condition. Tge hallways were dirty and poor maintain. The pictures on the web show a more pristine property
- 2/5
The rotting baseboards from a leaking A/C unit caused my sinuses to run. At first I didn’t notice it, but after a while I did. I only stayed one night. I told the attendant at checkout, but clearly this leak and rot must be an ongoing condition in Room 209.
- 5/5
Love the area
- 5/5
We will be back
- 3/5
Stayed 2 nights. What I did not like was the ice machine was not working and they supplied ice using an ice chest in the lobby. Not very sanitary. Also, I reserved double beds and the key would not work (2x) so they only had kings available. I did like the location and the price was reasonable.
- 4/5
This was an older motel….as noted by pics & previous reviews. I like to stay places based on price & property grounds. I enjoyed the view right beside me. I noticed other people enjoyed the pool, I did not use this amenity. The breakfast was modest, but I made a waffle & put on some Nutella. This is not a fancy stay. We used the room for sleeping & showering, so upscale isn’t necessary for us. It seemed clean & the bed and pillows were comfortable. Everything worked & I didn’t see any kind of damage to the room. I noticed most other people were young families or couples.
- 4/5
A basic hotel with a cute dock on the marsh with a small pool and walkable restaurants. They are definitely working on upgrades.
- 4/5
The hotel itself is outside of the main touristy part, but it's an easy direct-shot drive to downtown and the French Quarter. It's also an easy drive to/from the airport. It is old fashioned with the doors facing outside, but they've done a good job remodeling the rooms. The room itself was clean with comfortable beds. And the AC works well, which felt great after being out in the heat and humidity. I'm not sure if the bathrooms were part of the remodel -- that's where the room looks a little more worn down, but it was fine. Like a lot of hotels, the towels are really thin and cheap, so that was disappointing. We were offered towels mid-stay, but we were caught off guard by the employee coming into our room around 8:30am. I also had a situation where I got back after midnight and the lot was full, but I saw an employee sitting outside and he moved his car to the grass so I could take his spot. The setting on the creek is unique. We didn't spend too much time exploring, but it's worth walking over to the creek. The pool was also busy, although we did not use it. Overall, it was a good stay and I'd recommend if you don't want to pay big bucks to stay in downtown Charleston.
- 3/5
When checking in there was no A/C in the lobby, The area around the ice machine was in need of some attention. I can say the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. You can tell the are remodeling and hopefully for future guest it will be completed soon. .
- 4/5
This is an older hotel, theyve tried to update but it was very very clean. Ice machine was broke which was very inconvenient. I would stay again for the price.
- 5/5
Would stay again
- 2/5
Not very clean, we didn’t eat breakfast- looked not fresh. We could find a better place for that money
- 5/5
Beautiful location on a marsh; great breakfast
- 5/5
I love this location! It was so much better than a hotel. Small? Yes but, I was aware of that already. My partner and 2 very tall teenage boys would happily return to this hidden gem!
- 1/5
I didnt like the fact that they never truly refunded me my 100.00 security deposit. To this day i still havnt received it .
- 5/5
First time to Charleston..amazing views, comfy beds, clean rooms, plenty of parking, clean pool, great place to fish, maid service on spot can’t complain about anything! We will be back to stay again. Within 30 to 40 minute drives to all beaches and 20 minutes to downtown. Low key place to stay away from the city! Would definitely recommend! Can’t beat the peace and quiet with gorgeous sunsets!
- 2/5
Staff was friendly and the beds were clean and sleepable. The bad was that the place is dated in the furniture and it had some dirty floors. Yuck! Our entry door stuck and poorly fit in the frame. The bathroom door appeared to have a blood streak and was in need of replacement. The A/C was noisy but keep is cool. Our friends used the pool and had to skim the mosquitos off the top. But, they did say it was nice. The BBQ place across the street had good pulled pork but, the wings were undercooked and cold.
- 3/5
It is right off the highway. The breakfast was good. Hot items and cold items.
- 5/5
Loved the location and price. Room was clean and comfy
- 5/5
This was our 2nd time staying here. This will forever be our go to place in Charleston.
- 5/5
Very nicely updated motel. Clean, the staff were all friendly, the breakfast was good. I'd stay here again!
- 5/5
nice
- 3/5
The area was convenient for my husband and I as we were traveling back and forth to Kiahaw. The only critic I have is that the bed and sheet felt damp/wet and I think it’s due to the air conditioner and the weather from outside coming into the room, I hated that feeling and no matter how much i lowered the temperature and made cooler, its the same. There is also a light outside each room, if you like a dark room, not going to happen, feels like day time at night. It is a pet friendly hotel so you will get a shall stench of pet. Otherwise, it was an ok stay.
- 4/5
nice pool, and location. rooms have been updated.
- 5/5
Cute
- 5/5
Remodeled clean perfect
- 5/5
Affordable and safe
- 2/5
The room overwhelmingly smelled like weed. Sketchy. No air conditioning in the lobby. Breakfast area not clean.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Good location. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Beds were comfy.
- 3/5
The rooms were decent, they have been recently upgraded. The lights outside the windows were way too bright and shine in at night. The view of the creek is nice. The breakfast was subpar
- 2/5
Not pet friendly
- 5/5
Very nice property. It is an older hotel but the staff were top notch, the beds were clean and comfy, and the dock for fishing was a lot of fun!
- 5/5
We always stay here when I have appointments at MUSC. It’s always clean. It’s in a good location close to downtown. We always enjoy our stay here. The staff is always kind and very helpful.
- 3/5
I love the area. It was peaceful. The rooms are clean but the outside needs some work & to be cleaned. The lobby has no bathrooms. Other than that it was a basic hotel with comfortable beds.
- 1/5
Would not stay at this inn again , it was dirty , bath tub faucet did not work right ,ac was noisy
- 5/5
Beautiful creekside property
- 4/5
Beautiful grounds next to creek where folks try fishing and even has a fishing pier. Beds are fantastic, shower is great except no place to put your soap n shampoo which i find very strange. Also no towel bars to hang towels, just hooks. Small rooms, ok for 1 or 2 nights. Breakfast was good. Nice pool.
- 3/5
Old looking , paint pealing , no actual room light just dorm room stand lights , mini fridge barely cold , wanted to take bath but no bath stopper asked attendant never got one Only good part was on marsh but pictures online deceiving and it’s right by noisy main road
