The area to pick up your breakfast is cramped when a number of guests arrive.

The room was great, more like a studio apartment than a hotel. I loved the pool and the patio with the fire pit. And breakfast was really good food. Altogether an excellent experience!

Normally when traveling across country, we LOOK FOR a Residence Inn. If this was our first visit, we NEVER would have returned. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. More expensive. The kitchen cabinet door hinges were broken. The shower tile was cracked, separated & mold had grown over. The shower faucet literally came off in my husband's hand. The elevator floor was covered with dried spilled coffee/drinks sticky looked like from Saturday night when we arrived Sunday & when we checked out on Monday it was still filthy. I personally had to wait for housekeeping 3 times as they used those elevators from floor to floor with carts. So housekeeping was well aware they were NOT maintaining the common areas. Housekeeping walked over the filth. Lazy! My husband & I both have both been entrepreneurs for several decades & we could not get over how Marriott missed this one! As Bonvoy Members, very disappointed! Excellent location, busy, wonderful personalities at front deck. Zero reinvestment into property, definitely needs remodeling and NEW HOUSEKEEPING STAFF! .. it tells me what they live like at home. Marriott needs to make a surprise visit to critic themselves. No excuses for this one. This has been neglected, abused & ignored. Other Residence Inns are always maintained & preferred. This was VERY SAD TO EXPERIENCE!
- 5/5
Room clean, big, spacious. Breakfast was good. The only thing I wish housekeeping would have come in and gave new supplies. Towels, washcloths and coffee. Had to go down to the desk and ask.

I needed a full kitchen to cook in for Thanksgiving and it worked out perfectly! Also, the rooms are definitely made with thick walls because you couldn't hear us or others or smell all the food I cooked which was a plus. Beds were also very comfortable. Breakfast was also pretty good, I liked the sausage. The shower pressure wasn't the best.

Room was great and breakfast was great too!
- 3/5
Staff was friendly and professional. My hotel room didn’t have good heating. There was a portable unit that didn’t keep room at a good temperature. Some aspects of the hotel seemed like they needed a remodel.
- 5/5
The lady that checked us in was rude.
- 4/5
All good.
- 2/5
The shower had mildew. The sleeping accommodations on the pull-out couch were unacceptable. The springs were clearly word out and could be felt through the thin mattress. It sagged significantly in the middle. My son had to sleep across the top since the middle was so bad. This was a disappointing stay.
- 5/5
Nice staff. Clean. Good price.
- 5/5
Great everything
- 5/5
Very spacious rooms and great amenities.
- 3/5
room was clean but showing wear. limited kitchen utensils for cooking. Disappointing that the pool was not useable as my son was really looking forward to swimming while we were there. Staff was nice.
- 5/5
Good location, off the Interstate but far enough for no traffic noise. Convenient to many varied food choices. Clean facility and a spacious and well appointed room. Friendly staff and good breakfast. A good stay!
- 5/5
Everything but the taxes on the room. It was an additional 60 dollars and the room was over priced only because the Illini was playing. The price
- 4.5/5
Employees were great!! And friendly! Breakfast was also tasty. There was no towels in the pool. There’s improvement needed to be done around property and cleaning.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were all very friendly. The breakfast was also good.
- 3/5
We had many issues with the room but they tried to resolve the issues as best they could. They were always pleasant and helpful. I must way that we did talk with management and they did comp us for 2 nights because of all that we went through. I would give the Residence Inn another try next time we travel.
- 2/5
The cover sheet for sofa bed had a huge urine stain left on it and the stain is even on mattress, the sheet was not changed before the new guest moved in. It is really surprised and disappointed that this happened in the good name hotel as Residence Inn - I never ran into this situation before in any hotel.

Did not get the room we requested and paid for with the sofa bed
- 4/5
There were a few small maintenance needs for the building, but they did not affect my stay. I would stay here again with my family, and would stay at this chain in other cities.
- 5/5
It was amazing until the receptionist told me I couldn’t take my children swimming she said it was only 4 allowed in the pool I didn’t understand I have 5 children plus me I rented a one bedroom suites which sleeps 5 I only had 2 extra with one being autistic and the other a baby didn’t see why me and the others couldn’t swim so with that I give this stay bad comments with customer service my children cried I had to pay extra to take them to an aquatic center
- 5/5
Welcoming staff and very comfortable!
- 5/5
Great service
- 2/5
I didn’t like that I was put into a room that had damage, now I risk paying a damage fee. On top of that when I checked out this morning the front desk told me I still owed money even though I pulled up my receipt showing I paid in full a week in advance. I ended up paying more money because your hotel can’t communicate with third parties that put your hotel on their website so people can book. It was terrible and the staff never figured out why I had to pay more money, I won’t be back.
- 1/5
Wasn’t there
- 4/5
not an issue on previous stays but this time there was an issue with the central AC. my room had a portable AC unit that worked fine but was noisier than the normal central AC.
- 4/5
I did like the room was clean and in order.
- 4/5
The bed was too firm. I realize that is a tough people like different settings.
- 5/5

- 3/5
Super clean - I think the staff is new so expect to have some patience :)
- 4/5
I’m nitpicking but my shower handle was a little wonky.
- 5/5
We will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great staff and wonderful breakfast. This is our pick everytime.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 2/5
Very dirty and rum down. One of the worst Residence Inns I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was nice but charged me for an extra night stay because I checked out early. The ditch area in front of the hotel has so much trash that it really distracts from the property.
- 0.5/5
There were bugs all over the wall and hair on the sofa bed. When I called to talk to a manger about it my call was not returned. The price of the room is way too high to deal with disgusting issues like this! I want a refund!
- 5/5
The hotel was very nice! Co
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay and front desk was lovely!
- 4/5
Get up early to eat. Breakfast times are SHORT
- 2/5
When we got there they had not reserved our room. They were remodeling and we stayed in a room with no HVAC. It had 2 space heaters for heat. All of the staff were wonderful and very helpful, but they said that rooms reserved via a third party were not actually confirmed.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, the facility was clean and confortable
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay
- 3/5
Carpet on room was in rough shape. Sensed something of lack of cleanliness. Kind of a string of something gross around the bath sink. General smell in the hotel was not pleasant. Hallways extremely hot. Smoke detector over bed was flashing a lot all night. Disruptive.
- 5/5
Weekend trip to campus was comfortable with stay at this place
- 5/5
Great pet friendly hotel for a family meet up!
- 5/5
Simon and staff were wonderful

- 4/5

- 5/5
Great stay
- 4/5
Beautiful room. Big room.
- 4/5
The TV channels are alot to be desired. Both NBC and ABC were blacked out.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 3/5
However, the bed is so close to the HVAC unit it is difficult to get past. That part of the room is simply too small. It was the same way at a newer Fairfield Inn I recently stayed at. Bad design Marriott. Also, the shower floor was ridiculously slippery. Quite dangerous. There was no breakfast available and no explanation. Thinking it might have been a staffing issue which is not unusual. But, I was only offer edit $10 off or 2,500 points. Feel like it should have been more.
- 3/5
Hotel stars full hot breakfast buffet and it was not available, not even continental. The only thing available was coffee, packaged muffins and whole fruit. Not acceptable. I pick hotels based on breakfast available and to not even get a simple continental breakfast with yogurt, cereal, juice was not acceptable.
- 4/5
Room was warm at night
- 5/5
My stay was outstanding, my only complaint is the carpet smelled like wet dog otherwise the staff and the room were great!
- 5/5
Staff was very kind, breakfast was nice, the room was dusty though, and the door to the bathroom was not properly placed, and was hard to open and close, the shower also didn’t have a sliding door and water would get everywhere.
- 3/5
Water was dripping in the shower all weekend. Which was loud all night. They did offer to fix it but we were in a time crunch and no time to wait in the room with maintenance. Asked for extra towels and toilet paper, the do not disturb sign was out but they still came in the room to drop off. The gym could use some equipment wipes. Loud noise from pipes? at 4:00a and 5:00a every night. Woke everyone up in the room.
- 4/5
Overall, quite good, but noise level between midinight and 2 AM from the fire pit area was loud and heard 3 floors up.
- 5/5
Just the right location. The place had everything.
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing, clean, staff was well informed and comforting. You see I lost my aunt and was headed to the funeral. They were very sympathetic and even gave me a goodie bag to cheer me up! I give them 5 stars easily! A+++
- 5/5
Quiet, comfortable, recently renovated property. Really nice suites with kitchen, sofa and BR. Worked well for remote working while visiting family. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- 1/5
The second room had a non working thermostat. We left after that and will never be back.
- 5/5
Front office staff was great!!
- 5/5
Great clean and well maintained hotel with very spacious rooms.
- 4/5
This hotel is undergoing renovations and the room we had had been updated. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good as well. I would highly recommend.
- 3/5
Had to use a space heater to heat the room. Pool was closed, burn mark on table in room. Staff were very nice though,
- 4/5
Thermostat worked well too! My only issue was housekeeping never made it to my room. I did ask for fresh towels which were delivered. The management staff was very nice.
- 5/5
Everything was good, even though there was construction according to the desk clerk, we weren't affected by it at all.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 1/5
I picked this hotel as I needed an oven to prepare food to take for a family gathering. At check in I was informed that there would be no breakfast in the morning because it was Christmas. She also added that she didn’t think any restaurants would be open. So a trip to the grocery store to purchase some additional food happened. Upon returning to the hotel, I was in need of some ice. The ice machines on the first and second floor were not working and there was no machine on the third. Back to the front desk where I was informed that the machine was on the fourth floor but they were doing renovations on that floor. She actually got the ice for me. The toilet continued to run, the carpet is pulling out of the strip in the kitchen area and actually hurt my feet to walk on it. The people above us sounded like they had 8 children who were running and jumping all evening. This was probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a named brand hotel.
- 2/5
At 7am construction started in the room above us! The banging and pounding of carpet being installed was absolutely ridiculous and loud. We should have never been put into our room!
- 2/5
Another problem was that on Thanksgiving morning, the free breakfast was unavailable. No one told us that there would not be breakfast on Thanksgiving, so we had nothing purchased in advance. There were no places locally to get breakfast as it was Thanksgiving Day either. I couldn't do laundry because the soap dispensers were broken and there was no soap at the desk The biggest disappointment of stay, was that the pool and hot tub, which were a main reason for us to pick this hotel, were closed at the time of our stay. The indoor pool and indoor hot tub are permanently closed. This information was given to us by the staff. Unfortunately, that information was not provided on the website. Interestingly enough, after I complained about the pool being closed, all information about the hotel having a pool was removed from the website. I knew this particular hotel had a pool, because we stayed there last year and used it. The saving grace was the staff. They were incredibly helpful and pleasant despite the many disappointments the hotel itself offered.
- 2/5
No manager on duty from Friday through Sunday on a very busy weekend. Staff was insufficiently trained and unable to reach manager on call to resolve a room issue. Hotel was run-down. There was insufficient parking.
- 5/5
Stayed about 10 days for work. This place was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Excellent experience all around. Will definitely stay here again in the future.
- 3/5
Short staff and dirty carpet and sofa bed was broken. Room was smoking and bad smell.
- 3/5
Breakfast was the worst, limited items, with no replacement when items were finished by 8:30. Worker was unresponsive and rude, not very approachable.
- 5/5
My stay here was nice room was clean and spacious.like that it had a full kitchen. Very nice!
- 2/5
Booked a room thru Expedia. Was told when we arrived that all rooms were checked in and nothing was available. Everything was paid for on our end. She repeated more than once all rooms were checked in. Called Expedia up gave her the phone to talk to the rep and then all the sudden the reason is we misspelled your name and things changed. Suddenly our room was available after being told every room was checked in and accounted for????? It was very odd and frustrating considering we had traveled for 8 hours that day and it was late.
- 4/5
Check in was fine. The bathroom was great for my 87 year old Mom since she uses a walker. When we walked in, the transition from tile to carpet was dark duck tape, except for about 6-8 inches - and it was raveled carpet. There was no blanket for me to put on the pull out (very uncomfortable) couch. The sheet set in the closet for the couch looked like it had been used… We were tired and didn’t want to deal with moving to another room, but I did let the receptionist know about the carpet so I wouldn’t get charged for it since I had my 9 lb Pomeranian with me. The faucet in the shower was very difficult to use, too.
- 1/5
No juice at the breakfast. They told us that they are going to reimburse the costo of the night and now they are telling that they can’t.
- 3/5
The place was not as good as I thought it was. The hallway in the 125-133 corridor was very smelly , needs a deep cleaning, the smell was horrible. The room couch bed was a -0 on a scale of 1-10. The pull out couch has stains and the mattress was horrible, super thin and old. You could feel every spring. We actually just slept on the couch instead of pulling it out. I will not , 1000% ever stay at this location Residence Inn.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and clean. Staff was personable.
- 3/5
I start by saying we had no issues in our room or with the staff, we travel frequently and always stay in Marriott brand hotels. However, this hotel is not up to Marriott standards and is in need of an update. Lots of little things like the pool closure, breakfast amenities, stains in the carpet down the hall, chipped tile in the bathrooms, cushions on lobby and room furniture that need to be replaced, and professionalism of some of the staff was lacking. The staff was not rude by any means but lacked professionalism when speaking to guests and each other. Overall I would probably not stay here again until corporate comes in and cleans some things up.
- 1/5
The heat in our room so woke to up freezing. Changed rooms to bug infested bathroom and broken television. Pool was closed without notice so couldn’t even use that amenity.
- 1/5
Not good
- 3/5
Room is dirty
- 1/5
There are lots of ants in the washroom
- 3/5
Carpet is tore Andy dirty
- 2/5
There was hardly any breakfast items on our first morning in the reception area. The elevators remained unswept our entire stay. There was no coffee machine in the suite. There were no pans and hardly any other basic kitchen utensils ie 1 fork, 1 knife... The shelves in bathroom were loose. The HVAC in the bedroom is so loud.
- 3/5
We have stayed at this property in the past and were disappointed at its current condition. I expect a little wear and tear, but the room and the facility just appeared unkempt. Staff was friendly, but seemed understaffed for a holiday weekend. Market was very low on items. Room did not smell fresh and clean as usual. Carpet in the halls was very stained in multiple places. Carpet in the room was frayed in multiple places. The kitchenette was in disrepair with multiple deep scratches and cabinet doors hanging off of the hinges in multiple places. Curtains in bedroom were hanging off of their attachments and ripped in multiple areas. Overall an acceptable experience, but very disappointing compared to previous stays. Will not stay at this location again.
- 1/5
Terrible filthy hotel. Broken furniture, hall carpets were stained and shredding. Upholstery was ripped in our room and in lobby. I just can’t believe Marriott would be ok with this. Pool is not working and looks like it’s been like this for awhile. From the road you can’t see the issues but as soon as you get closer you’ll see rotting by the front pool windows, if you’re lucky like us food safety violation was posted at the front door. This is what reviews are for…a warning to others. I just wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews before I booked a non cancellable room.
- 2/5
It was one of the worst trips I have had hotel wise in a while. The pool was out of order the entire 15 days which they didn’t tell us upfront so is the Jacuzzi. I talk to the front desk about it they never once apologize for the inconvenience they just said you could check out and leave. The washers didn’t wash correctly. The detergent machine did not dispense detergent yet it took your money. I had to go to the front desk about that that was never any word of I apologize for the inconvenience. I need to change for the washer and the gas in the entire drawer had been taken out and there was no change . Later he found the draw dress but never any mention of apologies for the inconvenience. With this being a Marriott hotel the service was ridiculous and very selfish. One of my other coworkers also stayed at the property and was very dissatisfied. We stayed there total 31 nights between the two of us and there was a possibility of 2 to 4 other people from our company staying there but we told them not to. Again it don’t cost anything to be nice and to be courteous. This whole chair was operated like a hood Motel. Extremely bad service.
- 1/5
The property is in extremely poor condition, and the staff are beyond poorly mannered. The night staff were outright rude. I would advise anyone to stay elsewhere.
- 1/5
I called, was put on hold for 30 minutes before being connected with someone who could not help. I called back spoke with a manager, who told me the cancellation was due to a maintenance issue and said staying in Bloomington was all she could do for us for the first two nights and booked us a room at her location for the third night. She comped all three nights. At this late date, we had no choice as all available local rooms were going for exorbitant rates. So on the third night, we arrived at the hotel, got checked in only to put in a room where clearly someone had been smoking despite this hotel being non-smoking only. The desk clerk also said that the problem was not due to a maintence issue, but rather due to a communications issue with hotels.com. I am not one who puts much credence in social media, but there was a post stating that they had cancelled the rooms to get the high rates from the last minute travelers. In any case, why was management not honest in communicating the reason for our booking? Why did they notify me only one day in advance. Why did the staff not catch the smelly room before giving it to us? Something smells bad here, not just the room. Nothing was going to put a danper on our celebration, but no thanks to Residence Inn. Don't stay there.
- 2/5
The room was okay, bathroom had wallpaper peeling, a broken toilet paper holder and ants. I had to call and get a hairdryer, they came quickly for that. All in all it was a terrible time to have any “maintenance issues” (most people thought they just overbooked for graduation weekend. I feel bad for those who were forced to move. For us it would have added 6 hours of commuting back and forth over the three days we worry there. Very disappointed with Marriott for their lack of understanding for the problem they created for so many families coming to celebrate a special occasion.
- 4/5
It was clean and the staff members have good customer service
- 5/5
Exceptional service, above & beyond friendly staff along with great accommodations. I felt relaxed and no stress here which is what was needed.
- 2/5
Room was nice. Has reasonable kitchenette and overall layout is convenient.
- 1/5
I was charged by hotels.com and residence inn also charged me 180 dollars. I have called residence inn multiple times to get it fixed. Residence inn claims that they will refund my 180 dollars, but I have yet to see it hit my account. Don’t use hotels.com or you will be charged twice for the same room!
- 1/5
This was the worst hotel I have ver stayed at. It was filthy, everything (and I mean everything) was broken and we had no toilet paper, Kleenex, soap or conditioner (bottles were empty), nor did we have any sheets or pillows for the (dirty, broken) sofa bed. The hallways were dirty, the “market” was empty, the indoor pool was disgusting, and the outdoor basketball court was broken. Paying $325 to stay here was highway robbery.
- 1/5
My card was fully charged and still is, yet we were turned away at the Marriott on 08/14/2021 because they said a pipe broke. No voucher, no alternate hotel arranged for us, just turned away, as we’re muripke other people. They were supposed to refund the$202.27 charge this is still on my credit card…. Still waiting Expedia and Marriott, step up and make it right.
- 1/5
No air conditioning in hallway, dirty floors in hallways including stool soiled sheets that stayed in in air conditioned hall for hours, broken refrigerator door , light, oven rack in room, tv in bedroom has sound but no picture. Door to outside in staircase next to our room didn’t shut allowing anyone to walk in freely.
- 1/5
Horrible experience... Here's the summary: my wife and show up at 2:20 PM, and no one was at front desk until 2:36 PM. We were in for a wedding and was hoping to get in between 2:30 - 3 PM. Was told "check in not until 3:00 PM". True, but the room was ready (so we thought). We were going to get ready in the lobby bathrooms. They were disgusting. No soap, no paper towels and the garbage bag was tied up and still in the garbage can and customers throwing their used paper towels on top of the tied up bag. Garbage in the hallway. So we then decided to get a quick bite to eat. Get checked in around 3:20 PM...our room had no soap, 2 'pieces' of paper towels in the towel holder, no toilet paper holder and two shelving units almost falling off in the bathroom (I took pictures of everything because I did not want to get blamed if something happened). We used 'shampoo' from the shower to wash our hands and face. For breakfast, we planned on leaving right after breakfast (start at 7 AM)... but it was not 'open' until 7:10 AM. Not a big deal - except the staff made it known (kindly) that "check-in is at 3 PM". Gave Marriott a chance to respond - no response after promised a reply in 3-5 business days.
- 4/5
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!! The hotel was a bit run-down and could use some repairs. The wallpaper was torn in many common area locations and carpeting ripped. Our room needed lightbulbs and the TV did not work. The pool was a bit murky and the hottub was out of order. It was nice to have a laundry facility on site!
- 2/5
Honestly I thought that if I paid more for a hotel it would be clean, safe, and in a decent area. This hotel was way too expensive for the area. The room I was in did not have a working microwave (well it did not reach to be plugged into a working outlet) and the thermostat did not adjust. The bed was really wrinkled and not made well. Just shocked that the hotel was so expensive
- 5/5
Location was great. Fire pit was lovely. On the 3rd floor the wall paper in the hall was damaged and needed replacing. Carpet was clean as well as the facility. The Bed was great for sleeping. Overall very nice and the staff was great.
- 5/5
Pool, outdoor basketball court, but hoop was broken.
- 5/5
The breakfast was great. Very convenient location and friendly staff. Will stay here again!
- 1/5
Our room was not the cleanest and the pull out bed was broken. We had to put the mattress on the floor. Breakfast was served nicely, but most of it was inedible. Pool was not very clean. It was a lot of money for a very poor experience. I will not stay there again.
- 3/5
Building has siding falling off, and MANY STEPS...with carpet falling apart and dirty. The sofa bed in suites are stained so bad..we covered them with our blankets to sit down. I didnt take pictures, but we should have. I was embarassed I brought my family into that. The kitchen in both rooms were the best part of room!
- 2/5
Hot tub wasn't working, ice machine wasn't working, tv issues
- 3/5
We were disappointed in the fact that the hot tub was out of service waiting on a part. Which later was noted the part hasn’t been ordered in 6 months. No shampoo or soap. No towels for the pool. Understaffed for sure. And the beds were awfully stiff. Great location but just not worth the money
