Awesome rates, great staff, clesn room

The absolute best rates around ! The bugs have been showing up our last two visits. The room entrance doors are secure but all of them are “loose”, meaning theres almost a gap and doors do not shut all the way. We had to change rooms due to the a/c unit leaking on interior of our room… however as soon as we made front desk aware, maintenance was knocking on our door to resolve the issue !

A little bit more ahead, doing the maintenance in my case the toilet was not flushing well

no basic or standard toiletries supply. Only 1x2 soap is available, no toilet paper in the room, even staff can not provide. No disposable cup or coffee make, or water. Just a room to crash. Building is poorly maintained, room has an odor, like a storage unit. Overall assessment: terrible to poor, I do not recommend, unless you only want to crash and leave the next day

The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I especially enjoyed the peaceful environment and the excellent customer service throughout my stay. The location was also very convenient, making it easy to enjoy the area. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Gates Hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and a pleasant stay. I look forward to coming back again soon!

The kitchenette includes two burners for cooking, has cabinet space & the refrigerator/ freezer is a definite plus. However our stay this time had its concerns. We had an air conditioning unit that did not cool. We did not rest well at all due to being very uncomfortably hot. This is the first time we did notice some bugs of various kinds in our room & we were not pleased with this. Otherwise all went very well.

Secret Lake Park is mentioned by the hotel as being close by so we took a short drive. It was beautiful. I recommend checking it out. After check out I realized I had lef5 something behind in the room. I sought out cleaning staff, was lucky enough to get supervisor/manager and she took great care of me. I believeher name is Sherri. TY to her. I was able to retrieve my item. Will definitely stay again.

Crackhead motel, there were permanent indentations on the bed, smelled like mildew, we didn't even stay, we were told this was the VIP room, utter disgust

I didn’t like the smell of the room and the refrigerator and the rust around the refrigerator. There was rodents as roaches crawling on the walls. Hey baby not the road is but there was roaches. I woke up around three and one was in the bed almost on my baby overall, the bed was comfortable. AC was nice checking was excellent. Will I stay there again? No, I will not.

Horrible very inhuman unprofessional person the Africa American tall security man whit out no valid reason quick me and my husband out @1 am in the morning threatening whit police and proceeded to tell his boss not to refund the rest of the days that I had already prior paid for not only did he proceeded to make allegations I have my lawyer and a lawsuit against them coming

But it's a great, affordable place to stay, and not only that, it's not far from the Altamonte Springs SunRail station, with Lynx buses or Rideshare. Also, TJ, she was amazing, she is very customer-friendly and a sweetheart. Also, restaurants and stores are nearby.

Right before the Daytona NASCAR 2026 event, we urgently needed a place to stay somewhere near the track. This motel was the closest option available (about a 40-minute drive), as everything closer had been fully booked long in advance. In a rush and without reading any reviews, I made the terrible mistake of booking this place. We arrived in the evening, and the entire property smelled horribly like sewage. I literally had to hold my breath while running from the car to the room. About 30 minutes after getting into the room, I saw the first cockroach in the kitchen. It scared me, but I tried to convince myself that maybe it’s not that unusual for a place with a shared or open kitchen area. However, when I started looking more carefully, I went into complete shock — something I have never experienced before. The ENTIRE room was infested with cockroaches. This is not about killing one or two bugs — the place is crawling with them. Big ones, small ones, they were coming out from under the baseboards. They were everywhere: behind the bed, inside the nightstands, in the kitchen, on the floor, in the bathroom, even on the sink. I immediately took all my belongings back to the car. The only thing I did in the room was take a quick shower. I’m honestly afraid to even imagine what would happen if someone touched the picture hanging above the bed. This nightmare cost me €75, and I strongly believe the motel should refund every cent.

Walking distance to several restaurants: Waffle House, Chick-Fil-A, Einstein Bagels, and more. For shopping, there's Old TIme Pottery, and a small strip mall close by. This was a one night stop for me, but is supposed to be for longer stays. Amenities are miniimal, housekeeping limited, but the place is clean and I felt safe. Probably the only slightly bothersome negative was that there is NO trashcan in the room. You had to take it to designated places on property. No place to even put your trash, no trash bag, so that was a bit awkward. Really?

The room was horrendous. The ac was moldy, the room door was bent like someone tried to break in. The shower head is moldy. The bathroom door you have to pull hard to get open. There was a reddish brown smear inside the bathroom (maybe blood?). There was no shampoo in the shower. The front desk lady was friendly, but she forgot my parking pass at check in. She called me later when I was in bed and said she put the pass on the car but it needs to be inside the car or it could be towed. The building is atrocious and I left as soon as possible in the morning. Would not stay here again. It’s not worth it.

The fire alarm was going off when I tried to go to my room and then it started early in the morning and went all morning long. When I was checking in there was a complaint that there was a snake in a toilet.

This place has a cockroach infestation, which is why we couldn't stay at the hotel. Upon arrival, we immediately saw cockroaches and cockroach eggs on the floor, in the bathroom, on the bed, and on the nightstand. There were so many that they started crawling on my luggage. I don't even want to imagine how these pests behave at night when they are most active. They have a serious public health problem. Reading reviews on this platform, I found complaints about cockroaches dating back more than a year before my stay. They said they would issue a refund, which you could easily do, but you're making the process longer so that it has to be done through the Booking.com app. Due to the number of cockroaches that were even moving on the floor and almost climbed onto my baby's leg, we weren't there for more than 15 minutes; they flatly refused to issue a refund.

Something about it felt sketchy. Door hard to open. Mattress lumpy. Hot water took forever to come on. I had to throw away a box of cookies because there was a bug in it. No garbage cans because they want you to take out your own garbage. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Everything was clean. Excellent for a one nighter even better more than one night. I stayed one night and it was the lowest I found through kayak and through Expedia booked. I booked the night before so it was unique it did not have a price hike. Hopper was price hiking since I was booking the night before.

* first time ever there eas no soap, no gel, no nothing--not even a simple small bar of soap! * There was no cup. No glass. Not even a simple plastic cup to get a drink of water from the tap. I had to drink water the old fashioned way--from my cupped hands. * There was not even a cup of coffee in the morning. No for free, and not even for a tip. Nothing. Never even have I see that before. I might as well just have slept in my car and washed up in a fast-food bathroom somewhere!! What's next? Bring your own towels? Sheesh! I really pity the young generation if this is the kind of serice they have in their future.

It took me 10 mins to run back to the office and get the heck out of dodge. Oh-and charged me a $100 deposit fee-I don’t know what in the room was worth $100. We went to Embassy Suites up the block and couldn’t be more satisfied.

My door would not open, front desk says to jerk hard upward on door, you literally had to almost break your hand jerking upward. Made all my 3 occupants show their driver license to stay in room. Room smelled like bug spray, odor was bad, bathroom door splitting in half , when you shut the door it wouldn' open, and received a parking citation for backing my truck into the space, it does state that on the parking pass on bottom in small writing, the front desk should of stated that upon check in. Won't be staying here again and isn't worth the $65 night they charge, def a $40 night all day long

The AC was set at 68 but the temperature in the room was unbearable 78 degrees. My key stopped working after one night and had to get it fixed. There was no ice machine. They had a refrigerator and freezer but no ice cube trays. Very poor location compared to other Red Roof locations. Very disappointed

I was a little annoyed that the property did not accommodate early check in. They did not even attempt to help even though I expressed how tired I was from my long drive. The property was nice and well maintained. The room was clean and the water was nice and warm. I only stayed one night but would definitely stay again when in that area.

The room, though appearing to be clean, had an overpowering mildew smell. The bathroom needed a deep scrub to remove mold and mildew from around the floor and walls. The room came equipped with a microwave and cooktop but there were no dishes or utensils.

I booked here drove all the way to the property to be told that the only room they have available has a broken door and the other room is a smoking room. I was told I would get refunded and cancel the room since the one I booked wasn’t available yet. I haven’t gotten my refund nor did the girl at the front desk. Cancel the reservation with Expedia

Floor was bad. It was like cracking and most terrible thing was cockroaches. They were all over the table, chairs and toilet.

Good day I normally check reviews, but because I was in a hurry, I went ahead and booked up an arrival. The gentleman at the front desk was so polite and nice, but in the room, I would only advise you if you guys could put down some gels or roach hotels, you will get rid of them. Other persons are complaining. I am not really the type to complain much but that’s what I notice. Other than that. Everything else was OK.

Well I was happy to see there was a kichen and stove but then I opened the cupboards and no kettles or pans or plates. Ya right ,I'm on a bike so I certainly am not carrying house wares. Sure would have made my own supper for a change. Otherwise it was nice and quiet.

I arrived late in the evening and the person in charge to open first claim ME that I was parked in his parking spot which was not even showed not even as an assigned parking spot to begin with and he was riding an electric scooter, he was uneducated and rough. The room is poorly clean and looks ugly, location seems very insafe

Hated everything about this booking. They didn't put the reservation in my name, so I ended up having to book and pay for another room. Trying to get ahold of anyone to help was an exercise in futility. Hotel was a disaster. Roaches, filthy, and faulty appliances.

The hotel staff was very friendly. Upon checkout on Friday 3/21, I showed the desk clerk a video I had taken on my phone of the roaches in my room. She apologized and said that he credited my credit card one night's stay. I hope Expedia doesn't fight me over issuing this credit to my credit card.

I travel weekly to Home Towne Studios. It is a place where everybody knows my name. The staff is pleasant and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I feel at home. Great location for shopping, eateries, and transportation.

Completely horrible. Infested with cockroaches completely dirty mold in the toilet. Very small rooms and very unclean.

Roaches, roaches and more roaches! Inspection once a week, time frame between 2 days from morning to afternoon! Inspection for what? I have no idea cause everything stays the same! Maybe they wanted to know if we were disturbing the roaches!

If i could give it no stars i definitely would. The staff doesnt care at all what goes on. Day one i woke up with roaches all over me asked for a refund and i still havent received it.

Roaches, roaches and more roaches! My plan was to stay there a few months until I get my apartment as I just moved back to Florida. But those plans changed because of 1) roaches!! 2) Inspection of your room once a week on either of 2 days, at whatever time they want! On top of that they then chose another day to come take out the fridge, stove, etc anytime between 9am and 4pm like what?! $1500 a month for this bull! They act like you’re there free of charge and always in your space! Annoying is an understatement! Worried about my service dog, they should be worried about the roaches!!

Got to the property to check in and my room was unavailable-they had NO ROOMS LEFT. They gave my room to someone else, even though i had a reservation. It was 9pm, and I was with my infant twins trying to scramble and find another room.

The bus convenience and the shopping stores

It was what I needed but the AC was too loud. Had to turn it off to be able to sleep but then it got hot.

The beds were horrible. You could feel the springs hitting you in the side. They definitely have a severe roach problem. Asking for toilet paper is forbidden. Do not recommend at all. Zero stars

Very dirty rooms. Sheets were not changed there was sand in the bed and on the floors and the bathroom door was broken and when you closed the bathroom door it locked you in unless someone on the other side pushed hard.

Terrible, filthy hotel. We checked in and went to our room to find the door locked from the inside. We went back to the front desk and was told that housekeeping must have let someone in. We canceled and got out of there fast.

Has bed bugs and roaches , absolutely gross. Smells so bad. Terrible everything

gave them a deposit, said i would get it back the next day. wrong. stayed there with my wife because of a plumbing emergency at home. enjoyed a movie while a cockroach crawled across us in bed. we were faster and more furious than the movie we were watching.

It was a reasonable price and seemed clean until we started to notice roaches. Small roaches that came out in the evening.

It was in a good location with easy access to many areas.

The staff were superb. The condition of the property was not. Someone smoked Marijuana daily on the second floor which drifted up to our place on the 3rd floor. There were at least 4-5 cockroaches that greeted us daily. These are our main complaints. Beyond that, the bathroom door was not secure and the vent did not work. The floor was so filthy we purchased a mop and borrowed a broom to clean it ourselves. We come to FL on average every couple of months but will not stay here again.

There were permanent and very noisy residents living at this property. The bed's mattress was not flat but had a crown down the center (very uncomfortable). There was no hot water.

The most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Room was so smelly.

The place was clean and quite, but very expensive.

The room was really dirty and smelled horrible. Their is cockroaches and they literally crawl on the bed. People hang out outside all night and you can hear there full conversations, so their is no privacy. Someone also tried to break into my car in the parking lot and got arrested. Over all this place is a nightmare, it’s really dirty inside and infested with bugs, and the area is dangerous.

Roaches everywhere the floor was dirty when we walked in mattress and sheets had stains very in healthy place plus drug dealers and hookers actually live on the property and the staff only gives you 2 towels no matter how many people or how long the stay

I Do not recommend It's not clean and it's full of cockroaches.

Parking is very limited, Air conditioner/ heater doesn’t work and there’s roaches but it’s probably the cheapest you’ll find during peak season on weekends

The hotel staff is very nice and helpful but there are cleanliness issues (specifically roaches) that need to be addressed. Also, the hotel indicates kitchen facilities but you have to "rent" dinnerware, silverware, utensils, etc. This should be disclosed.

This extended stay is absolutely horrible! The rooms are infested with cockroaches! They were all over the bathroom, walls of the room and bed! The kitchen cabinets and refrigerator were in terrible condition. We had to pick up our guest at 5:00 in the morning because the cockroaches were crawling all over her! She was traumatized! Do NOT stay there!

Ain't staying there no more and I'm glad we are out after two weeks

Avoid going there, it's a terrible hotel, terrible service, they charge an excessive deposit. To check in they ask for your documentation and that of all the people who are going to stay with you. The rooms are very bad, with a cigarette smell, the air conditioning is terrible and very noisy. In short, avoid that place!

I liked the convenient location of the hotel.

On the way up the stairs there was pee on the second flight. When we entered the room we were roaches running in and out of the floor boards, and mouse poop on the floor in the bathroom accompanied by black mold. To top it off the toilet was not what I would call clean. We left within mins of checking in.

Jay was awesome with us!!! He made sure we had a comfortable stay and we appreciate him. Hotel room was very nice.

This is not a well maintained property. Tub is worn out, hotplates don't work, old mattress, and roaches. Ok for what we needed.

Terrible, amd to complete the combo, they dont allow me to extend the reservation, they dont say any reason just that the system says that. And also they says that I was banned and apply to all Hometownes. I ask for explanation and the manager in rude mode just told me that they don't know. In addition they has still 100 dollars from the security deposit and the U C F location has 50 without pay me back. If you dont have that money even if the reservation is paid, they dont give you the room, but to deposit the money back they take to long , I want my money and explanation why I was banned.
